Notes and thoughts on the August 30th dev Discord Q&A. (this post contains DA:TV spoilers from the recent Q&A).
Mother Ghil is a herbalist 😌
"there are opportunities in conversations, in dialogue, in scenes where you will, you know - a companion may ask you for a hug because they’re having a rough time and you are able to give it to them"
🥺😭 I'm worried (but in a good way, pls hurt me storylines) because this reminds me of DA:I when the Inquisitor can hug Varric after something incredibly sad happens as a result of our choices (Hawke's death in the Fade) oughh.
Influence on the fate of nations? 👁️
"Rook does become a fairly important figure" - this reminds me of Solas' line in a past trailer: "They call me the Dread Wolf. What will they call you when this is over?"
UNDERWEAR CHOICES
Taash is babey 🥺 it makes sense why in this screenshot she looks young. if Taash is in her early 20s, say 23, that means she probably can't have been one of the Five Belles of Hunter Fell as that was in 9:42 and she would have been like 13
Here is some further info about companion ages that came out since the time of the Q&A
Harding had to have been at least 18 ten years ago in 9:42 when she joined the Inquisition and became Lead Scout, so must be at least 28. but I think older, as I think she was older than 18 in DA:I by a fair few years. like around early to mid 20s at that point in time.
"they’re all people who have been through a lot [...] they’ve been through a tremendous amount by this point by the time you meet them" 🥺😭
"They’re more linear than some of the other parts of the game, because we feel that’s how we can tell the best stories, give you a very intentionally-paced experience, y'know, with lulls and climaxes, so it really hits you."
This was how Trespasser was and it was the best part of DA:I, the storytelling and narrative beats in that DLC were soo good.
Hossberg Wetlands! - new location confirmed, and also described as being one of the biggest like Arlathan Forest. also new location just dropped, Hossberg existed before in the lore but I don't remember hearing about the Wetlands! Hossberg is the capital of the Anderfels. it'll be awesome to see more of the Anderfels than only Weisshaupt. by the name these wetlands must be nearby Hossberg. I wonder whether they're around the Lattenfluss or more around this body of water to the south of Hossberg? the area around Kassel looks wet with multiple bodies of water, but there the nearest settlement is Kassel. we also learned that there's a Davrin-oriented quest there that he can show up in with Assan and help you clear the way forward
Tumblr media
also, I remember reading before that "Thedas’s separate regions are connected by The Crossroads, which will allow players to venture out into", but from how The Crossroads was described in the Q&A, they sound kind've like an explorable area in and of themselves in the game like they were in Trespasser, and that's exciting. :D I'm so excited to explore in there some more and see how it has changed from DA:I/Trespasser:
"but this, isn’t necessarily the Crossroads as you remember it. So you’ll be able to explore this, this part of the Crossroads, and as you’re there, you’re absolutely gonna be discovering new areas, new quests, mysteries and new challenges"
like this sounds very 👁️. The Veil has been having a rough time lately and magic has been flowing into the world. reality is warping in places like Arlathan. we've seen the effects this sort of thing is having on the waking world. but what about the effects this is happening on the Fade and Fadey dimensions? I wonder if this game will still reflect that the Crossroads looks different for elves compared to other lineages?
"I wanna see that big 100% completed on my map. That’s gonna take you quite a bit of time."
I love that. :D
I totally agree that the cloth sim and hair sim in the game is beautiful and looks beautiful. you can see this when characters move their heads or when their capes and things move around as they move. its so cool!
"there is a unique Venatori-themed helmet. I, I don’t want to spoil what that is exactly, but, so, you can get a helmet, it is unique, it’s pretty interesting and ties into some of the events that can happen in the game but I’m just gonna leave it there."
inchresting... this helmet sounds like it has special powers or attributes and has some sort of presence in a possible plot somewhere.
I will still romance Strife Dragonage in my dreams
while Rook's romance is within the companions, iirc was mentioned elsewhere that sometimes companions may find romance both inside and outside of the party
Cat Vibing To Ievan Polkka
KFM: "So Taash breathes fire, Lucanis has wings, Harding is a dwarf who has magic. A lot of our companions have some strange abilities - is this because the Veil is compromised?" JE: "Oh, I’d say it’s, I mean partially yeah. I mean, we’ve talked before about how over the course of the time since Dragon Age: Inquisition, I mean, it started at the end of Trespasser. The Veil’s not in great shape. Corypheus already did a number on it, and Solas has very clearly, as you saw, in the [inaudible] preview, not been making things better in the intervening times. [...] because there’s all this magic that’s coming back to the world through the torn Veil"
This is inchresting and ties to what was said in these two previous quotes:
Lore/art direction: “Magic has started seeping into the world through Solas’ ritual”, “and so you’re seeing the effects of that on the space, and on the visuals as well” [post this is from, original source. original source is a John Epler interview video]
“Epler, who writes Bellara, tells me about her place in Thedas as an elf and the connection elves have to the magic of the world. He says if you’ve paid attention to the franchise, you likely already know that elves are historically an oppressed people in the games. Now, with two of their gods on the loose in Veilguard, magic has poured back into the world in a big way. […] A Quick Detour: Magic During my discussion, Epler spoke about magic’s place in the world and how it differs in Veilguard from previous Dragon Age games. Here’s what he said: "Historically, as you’ve mentioned, we’ve been in the south of Thedas and south Thedas is Ferelden, Orlais. Both are fairly still oppressed, they still have circles. Mages are viewed with suspicion, but Tevinter has always been this land where mages rule, mages are in charge, mages make the rules, mages run the show. So what does that look like? And as we’ve gone through [Dragon Age: Origins, Dragon Age II, Dragon Age: Inquisition], magic has become more and more present. And part of that is because Solas has been slowly preparing this ritual for longer than anyone in the Dragon Age universe is really aware of, but also, just going into the spaces where magic is, by definition and by the lore, much, much more present. And it’s been fun because, again, we do have rules; we want to make sure we’re not violating the lore or violating things we’ve said before. But it’s also, again, that permissiveness of, ‘Okay, what is the most interesting way to do this? What’s the most interesting way to tell the story? [In] Origins, II, on the Eclipse engine, we could talk about this fantastical magic, but the engine didn’t really allow us to show it. For the first time, we’re really able to let the visuals speak for themselves and not have to tell the player, ‘Trust us, it’s spectacular; this magic is really cool.’ We can actually show you and let you drink it in.” [post this is from, archive post of the original article as that went down when GI did]
The effects of this on space, reality, visuals, people and their abilities, ancient elven artifacts turning back on, and Solas' activities being part of what affected things in the time since DA:I. I wanna speculate that these ancient elven artifacts turning back on or becoming active again is part of why reality has been warping and "something [going] wrong" in Arlathan Forest. I wonder if the Morlyn clan journal relic began rewriting itself as a consequence of the magic returning.
Bellara was an interesting example though, she's a mage not a non-mage like Taash, Lucanis, Harding. was I parsing this right - is the implication that she wouldn't be able to interface with the artifacts that have turned back on if the Veil was in better shape and magic hadn't been pouring back in?
Tumblr media
^ Bellara interfacing with an artifact
All the talk of magic coming back into the world are like Sandal's prophecy:
One day the magic will come back - all of it. Everyone will be just like they were. The shadows will part and the skies will open wide. When he rises, everyone will see.
and reminds of a few other bits too:
Ardent Blossom Faerie: "Pulling back the curtain. Let the light in. Let it burn. Bring faith. Bring hope. Bring dreams of life. - Morrigan: "Change is coming to the world. Many fear change, and will fight it with every fibre of their being. But sometimes change is what they need most. Sometimes, change is what sets them free." - Flemeth: "We stand upon the precipice of change."
I loved hearing about Bellara's friendships with Lucanis and Neve. it sounds so well thought-out, and I'm looking forwards to learning the relationships between each companion!!
Bellara believing that family is deeply important combined with a previous quote about her backstory,
"Whereas Bellara is somebody who has seen tragedy, and as you get into her character arc and get into her backstory, you realize this is a character who has seen a lot of tragedy"
makes me wonder if this tragedy has involved her family and if her family are okay. 🥺
Lucanis' belief in the deep importance of family makes me worried in case any of his personal arc/story involves the family tensions he has with Illario and Caterina
I love that Bellara collects newspaper clippings and was basically Neve fan before meeting her!
Neve must be a fairly prominent, well-known/successful private detective/investigator to have formed a large profile in print media
Taash and Emmrich [...] When you’re out in the field like exploring, or on missions with them, their banter is so good, because they do not see eye-to-eye on necromancy, like, at all, and, it’s really funny, it’s really delightful, I love seeing how it evolves
as a necromancer Emmrich doesn’t have a problem with necromancer (makes sense). I wonder what Taash dislikes about it? is it its bad reputation (per Josie in DA:I)? Solas freed the weak spirit the Mortalitasi in Tevinter Nights had bound to stir her drink. maybe Taash doesn’t like the binding part, or the undead helpers or servants part? maybe she just doesn't like the dead the way Bull doesn't like demons?
Having to figure out how Harding's new powers layer into her combat kit - Harding's new magical powers are part of her gameplay abilities confirmed!
Harding can also do Heavy Draw
Interesting - the more you help a faction the more gear you get from them. between that and transmog it means everyone can access the Antivan Crows awesome threads if they wanna :D
Both the specs and gear are themed around particular factions like aesthetically but aren't exclusive-to-them when it comes to use/gameplay
It sounds like each faction will have a quartermaster
Veil Jumper lore! they tend towards electricity/lightning damage and archery in their fighting style. and in general they're practically minded and dress as such because where they go and what they do requires care and protection and is dangerous, they wear boots/shoes etc for this reason
Veil Ranger info! it tends towards electricity, use of the Veil and use of that kind of magic. it also uses archery
The answer to the question about the Evoker spec made me reassured about the answer I wrote here ^^;
Great news that any piece of gear we find will unlock the appearance of that gear and how it can be applied to anything we want <3
Training dummy cosmetic - joke gear pieces like the Wedge of Destiny live on :D
I'm so psyched that we can even transmog our casual wear!! that's so cool and allows for so much agency. I find when I play mages in the past I'm always looking for the.. least magiest-looking mage gear to wear, and previously there wasn't crazy amounts of choice in casual wear, so this is amazing dbgfjdbd
very personal GIFTS for the blorbos 🥺 the gift system sounds so lovely and thoughtful. I think maybe some of the empty shelves that can be seen in the new screenshots of the companion rooms in the Lighthouse just miiight be where the companions will display the gifts
"A really big thing for us on this project is making sure that the gameplay reflects the characters, their arc and their personality as much as possible, so."
looking real hard at Lucanis' wings rn, especially given the context of what else we know about him 👁️
"you’re not even going to see everything necessarily in a couple of playthroughs"
Aaaaaa :D
as a warrior fan the love for the warrior class was really heartening. (love you Inky)
The Missing setting up some of the characters we'll see in the game makes me even more sure that alongside Strife&Irelin and Evka&Antoine we'll see Teia&Viago in the game (plus the characters in the release date reveal trailer that totally look like them ofc)
Emphasis that themes and events/things present and explored in Tevinter Nights are present in the game
It sounds like Vows & Vengeance is set in the weeks before the prologue of DA:TV kicks off
There is a buff called Rally Party where Rook triggers a surge in their companion's ability
MAAEEEEEEEEEE 😭😭😭 this was so good I was like yelling OMG. I'm sooo happy about this, this is so great. she's been on my 'DA4 wishlist of stuff' for so long and we waited to meet her since 2012 (12 years ago!!!). I'm soo excited to meet her oh my god. this reveal was honestly the highlight of the whole Q&A. pack it up, we can go home now. Mae.. 😭 I hope we get to see her interact with Varric. and I wonder if she has some involvement with the Shadow Dragons (Varric said something about "some old friends in Tevinter said the Shadow Dragons were pog to work with" in the gameplay reveal..), and how things are going with her and Dorian's faction the Lucerni
It sounds like Lucanis' parents were killed at some point in some Crow-Crow politics. probably when he was quite young, since when Lucanis thinks back on being raised by Caterina she did things like making him spend days without food or water, which makes it sound like he was quite young when he entered her care
No jealousy dialogue is interesting
I hope for a poly romance option in a future game
ABILITY TO SAVE CHARACTER APPEARANCES for use later in CC aaaa. Amazinggg. thankyouuu. a lot of thought has been put into the quality of life features of this game :') pausing cutscenes is another great one.
KFM: "The question is, is Lucanis possessed?" JE: "So, again, spoilers, everyone has been warned, fairly warned. So Lucanis Dellamorte is also known as The Demon of Vyrantium. And, he has spent a lot of time killing Venatori, who are mages, and who do know a lot about demons, so. Yeah, somebody decided that it might be a good idea to make that nickname stick."
👁️👁️👁️ Aaaaa. Inchrestinggg. From this and The Wigmaker Job I would guess that this "somebody" who decided that and did that to him is Zara Renata. she ended that short story like [evil anime villain laugh] "huehuehue":
"From flying vermin to malicious spirit. That's quite the promotion." [...] "A true maleficar knows demons cannot be killed, only controlled. If this Crow fancies himself a demon, then I look forward to using him to his full potential. He'll be duly punished"
Who else could the "someone" be? Zara, when I catch you.. 😠
I'm sure it will be different this time around as it always is! - both Wynne's situation (the specifics of it, how it came around, the effect it had on her) and how it was explored in the story was different to Anders' which was again different to Justice's in DA:O's to Cole's etc. (speaking veeery broadly in terms of the 'spirit companion' archtype, I know for example that Cole isn't possessed, simply a spirit. yk what I mean). I'm super curious about the take on this theme this time around ^^
(Lucanis possession-y-type-situation evidence [plus his demon-y looking tarot art, plus the wings and purple magic abilities of course])
I love the agency companions are given by them showing up in the field to help you, waiting for you somewhere on a quest they want to go on, or you encountering them out randomly somewhere doing there own thing (like the tidbit from a magazine about encountering Neve). it makes them feel like real people
I wonder if Taash's keen interest in the main story mission & the challenges of its arc in the far reaches of Arlathan Forest (it's strong enough that she shows up there impatiently if you don't take her) has something to do with the eluvian that's in her room?
"Far reaches of Arlathan Forest" is music to my ears btw as someone who has wanted to explore in there for the longest time
"You’ve just been around them, you’re aware of their techniques, and you wanna take that on yourself." - sensical explanation of what 'specs are aligned with/tied to factions' means ^^
KFM: "This next question is, where is the equator in Thedas, or the planet Thedas is on, relative to places we’ve explored?" JE: "That is a great question. So, I will say that, you know, it’s funny until I saw this question, it’s not something I’d ever thought a lot about, but as I started thinking about it a little bit more deeply, based on how the climate changes across Thedas, you know, obviously, to the south are the Avvar and things get a little bit more wintry, and then up north is a lot more tropical, I’d say that Thedas is a southern continent on this world, so."
I feel like the answer that was given here matches what a lot of fans have speculated or headcanoned on this topic. ^^
"There are these times where a companion, either their faction or their story arc is so closely tied or intersects with the events of a main story mission that they do become required, but it’s not the standard"
This makes sense. It sounds like Liara on Thessia in ME3.
When someone asked "Can a companion leave due to your world decisions, and if so, will their partners leave with them?" and John Epler mentioned that he would only answer half of this question as the other half is a spoiler, it made me wonder if companions will leave at certain times due to our world decisions
No mechanic behind companion-companion romances is so nice, it's more organic and real that way. I'm really looking forward to seeing the friendships and relationships between the companions develop
DAVRIN INFOOO 😭🙏 He sounds amazing. I wonder which companions in particular bring out his kindness
"He’s not just a Warden who sees fighting monsters as, you know, just part of the job. He believes in turning this into a skill-set that he alone, you know like, he has more than anyone else. Learning how to defeat monsters, learning their weaknesses, and that does show up a lot in his character arc, so."
this ties back to a related quote from a lil while ago.
I know it can be inferred from her vallaslin, but this Q&A is the first place I remember (atm) Bellara specifically being stated to be Dalish
We already saw each companion's Lighthouse casual wear here
Emmrich?? what are his casual threads like? :D
I wonder if Lucanis being one of the team cooks is part of why he appears to sleep in the kitchen storage/pantry
"It’s funny, I’d say that Dragon Age: The Veilguard is probably the most we’ve talked about food in a context of Dragon Age, ever" - it makes sense that it was only recently that the DA cookbook came out hh :D
Some of the companions being so bad at cooking that they'd burn water and die took me out. who do you think are the ones that aren't even 'passable' cooks but terrible ones hh? :D
So do the Crows in general quite enjoy the finer things in life and in food?
I wonder if part of Lucanis' interest in food and cooking stems from when he was young and Caterina made him go for days without food and water? :(
"So one of the things I really love is, you know, Bellara and Lucanis actually end up being, essentially, the team cooks. Bellara, you know, spending a lot of time out in nature, learning a lot about, you know, different types of cooking, is really big on experimentation, she likes to, you know, try different things. Lucanis comes from the Crows, Lucanis is very big on the finer things, so between the two of them, there’s a point in the story where they basically decide, if we don’t do this, the entire team is going to starve, so let’s just call ourselves the cook, cooks, and make sure that nobody dies of food poisoning, so."
I love this so much 🥺💜 ooh my heart. (its so wholesome and so funny at the same time). also Bellara's creativity and love of learning and exploring expresses itself in her cooking too!
It's great that fine, fancy dwarven-style beards are returning :D I wonder if there are also hairs with beads woven in? Strand hair in the beards 👌 beard physics working with different armors 👌 (amazing work!!). Dwarf Rooks shown before launch 👌 as many options in CC being universal as possible 👌 I love what I'm hearing!! I would guess from this that it means hair isn't gender-locked and mostly isn't lineage-locked (I can understand qunari hair may have to be) and things like that.
It wasn't in doubt ofc but this Q&A is the first time I remember hearing a clear mention that Solas was written by Trick Weekes in DA:TV
I'm really curious about the Rook faction background-dialogue with that same companion. it sounds like some have only heard of them and some may have known them a bit more directly. Like for example, is Antivan Crow Rook also from House Dellamorte, or another Antivan Crow house? Has Grey Warden Rook ever been to Weisshaupt (some Wardens don't seem to have)? Did Veil Jumper Rook ever go on adventures with Bellara? Did Emmrich and Mourn Watcher Rook ever be direct colleagues in the Necropolis? etc.
"maybe even heard of you leaving the faction to go help Varric to track down Solas" - this snippet makes it sound like part of Rook's backstory may involve having left their background faction when getting picked up/tapped by Varric for the work. inchresting
This screenshot shows an example of the Veilguard team hanging out together
"Rook and Solas have a connection, they have a bond'' - my guess is this is to do with Rook interfering with Solas' ritual, and the Lyrium dagger passing from Solas to Rook
I'm curious about the differences in Solas' connection/relationship with Rook to the one he had with the Inquisitor
"there are followers who, you know, are going to have a more complicated connection and complicated relationship with just, Solas as an entity, you know, Bellara, for example, is an elf, she’s Dalish, and this a person from her pantheon, so. There’s going to be a lot more of a, I guess, like I said, complex relationship between the two of them. Davrin is another example, someone else who is Dalish, so, you know, their views on the gods in general are going to be a little bit different"
I was happy to hear this. ^^ it would be odd if this sort of thing wasn't explored or at least acknowledged in the game. you can hear a bit of this in Bellara's release date trailer line, "Our gods are back. Our gods." it was also hinted at a bit in this Game Informer article I feel.
It sounds like Bellara and Davrin have slightly differing views on the elven gods.
It's so cool that we have 2 Dalish elf companions in the team this time! I missed a Dalish perspective in the roster in DA:I.
Turning off some of the UI components is great for taking screenshots and stuff
I think that Bellara's unique exploration ability is Tinker
Party swap-points confirmed?
Rook's ability to channel the companions' exploration abilities through the Lyrium dagger is super interesting 👀 I wonder how that works and how that comes about? Is it to do with lyrium? the Veil? the runes that can be put on the dagger? the mysterious entity in the Lighthouse that assists with crafting? do the companions each have some kind of connection to Rook sort've how Rook does to Solas? back in the day, when Solas led his own band of followers during his rebellion, when Solas' Lighthouse was filled with his own group of companions (Solas sees himself in Rook etc), did he channel his own companions' abilities the same way using the dagger? Was Felassan once essentially a party member of Solas'?
Great news on the helmet situation :). I wonder if the vitaar variants of helmets thing also applies to Taash?
Here's an example of qunari vitaar, two
Themed color-variant cosmetics 👀
Flowing faction-themed capes 👀
ASSAN SIBLINGS... after the Mae reveal, this was the highlight of this Q&A for real :D and it makes sense, griffons seem to lay clutches, so unless Assan was created or something wild or all the rest of his clutch died somehow, there would be others around in the world. I wonder what role the others will play in the game, and what the plotbeat around griffons is more generally
Confirmation that if companions showed up previously in TN they were at that point intended to be companions. It gives you an idea of how long some of these characters were worked on and developed for
Rook's surname being referenced in dialogue quite a bit 👀 interesting, I wonder when. Neve and Varric have called Rook "Rook" in videos from the game
Confirmation that the shape of Morrigan's crown is meaningful and tied to Flemythal stuff/themes
"In the case of Morrigan, she’s coming to terms with a lot of truths about both herself but also her mother, you know, you see her with Flemeth’s crown, or a variation of it, and that’s speaking to her personal journey of, what I would call, kind’ve acceptance of who she is and how she connects to Flemeth, because ultimately we want this to feel like a real world"
It sounds like all of these hints are coming to fruition now:
"A soul is not forced upon the unwilling, Morrigan. You were never in danger from me." - "Mother is the inheritor, she who awaits the next age." - "Designer’s Notes: This is Flemeth from the previous two games. In this game, Flemeth’s story comes to a head – she knew that Solas would summon her, and that he would need to steal her power to further his plans. She knew that because they are both elven gods…yet Solas has slept for a thousand years and his power dwindled, while she was killed long ago and a spark escaped from her into the body she now holds. She has nurtured that spark, and knew that Solas would need it. He was once her oldest friend, but she knows in his drive to save the elven people he will kill anyone – even her. She intends to let him have the power, so long as she can pass the essence of her god-hood onto Morrigan, a gift Flemeth had always planned for her daughter yet one Morrigan misunderstood as hostile possession."
Even mundane Kieran's dialogue line about who his mother is ("She's the Witch of the Wilds") touches on this. The old Witch of the Wilds, Flemeth, is no more. Morrigan has taken on the mantle, in a manner of speaking. These things seem especially impactful in worldstates where Morrigan drank from the Well. I am curious about how Well-drinking Morrigan vs non-drinking Morrigan will play out.
In a way, Morrigan has already stepped into her mother's role in the world of Dragon Age. Flemythal used to show up dramatically and mysteriously in every game to interact with the main character of that story. Morrigan has also been doing that, also now for 3 games. I'm reminded of Varric's tombstone in the Fade, Became His Parents. especially if she continues to do this while she gets older, the similarity is apparent.
It's cool that you don't have to be Spellblade spec to use orb and dagger
"while City Elf versus Dalish Elf is a lot more of a useful distinction in, you know, Ferelden, Orlais, we’re in northern Thedas, things are different up here. And a great example is Rivain. Dalish settlements, you know, they have Dalish settlements within cities, integrated into the cities, because, again, they don’t have that same bias, that same distinction."
New lore, or maybe a return to older lore? in DAII Isabela tells Merrill the Dalish haven't reached Llomerryn. but prior to that around 2009, David Gaider mentioned that the Dalish elves in Rivain have a semi-permanent settlement in Llomerryn. this sounds like that, and it sounds like it's not only Llomerryn. of course, Bela could just have been mistaken or this could be a recent development that began in the last decade or so in the world. I think it makes sense for what we know about Rivain.
"It’s a lot more about, how you play into the faction, you know, and, in some cases it matters more that you’re an elf, in other cases it doesn’t actually matter to the people of that faction, they’re just looking for someone who could do the work. A great example, and I’ll just, very, very light spoilers, Mourn Watch is a great example where, they just care that you are capable of, you know, executing the duties that you’re given, so."
I'm curious about which do and which don't for this, and not only for the elf lineage. an elven Veil Jumper may have more to say on or different investment in the artifacts they find and places they explore. an Antivan Crow who was employed because humans often find them attractive, or an Antivan Crow who was an enslaved elf or enslaved human and then bought by the Crows may have different thoughts on/experiences being a Crow than say a human who was born into it. (this is previous lore stuff, the Crows favoring recruiting elves, Zevran was bought etc). etc.
Lastly a quick recap on the things that came up in the Q&A that the devs said they would be talking about more soon:
They will be going deeper into settings, accessibility settings/features and similar things closer to launch
(On accessibility features, Corinne Busche mentioned that she thinks they are doing a feature, some kind of blogpost on that subject)
They will be talking more about exploration next month
They will be talking more about the Lighthouse next month
They will be showing some dwarf Rooks before launch

Can you please write some (optional relationship, if not, romanse) headcannons for Geo and/or Hyugo with a weeb MC? They don't have to be strictly into anime, but just really loving Japanese and Japanese culture (bonus if they don't know Japanese).
Chronic Love (Geo + Hyugo x Weeb! MC/Reader)
Enjoy my amazing little weeb, have an awesome day! Solemnly thanks for entrusting me with writing this for you.
Also, uh, a minor sidenote, I am not an anime enjoyer or even remotely close to a weeb; so if I get something wrong/too exaggerated etc. feel free to publicly execute me in the town square. <333
You can read this from any perspective, as in, both in an established relationship setting and a solely platonic one. :]
A/N: From now on, Geo and Hyugo will be referred to as Geode and Hyugeode, if anyone in the Geo religion utters 'Geo', they shall atone. 😊😊😊/hj
- Signed by biggest-geo-oogami-enjoyer
Chronic(ally): to a very great extent; extremely.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tumblr media
Hyugo is honestly surprised when he finds out of your...intense love for Japan and its culture.
He won't be opposed to it, he'd find it a smidge endearing, considering he's Japanese; and you seem to be willing to learn anything about it. He's more than happy to tell you what you wanna know.
Do you take advantage of this? Yes.
Would probably eventually, to your joy, start telling you cultural appropriations and norms, along with a couple generic Japanese words/phrases (you say them whenever possible, feeling the language fall from your lips and off your tongue feels so right, you can't get enough!).
You ask him to tutor you Japanese at some point, to which he politely declines (he's got enough on his plate okay?!), but is willing to converse with you if you ask.
Just don't nag him, he fucking hates being nagged.
You'd probably mispronounce certain words, to which he'd correct you, until you get the hang of it.
Might take you to a Japanese candy store to tell you his personal recommendations (they're great btw).
If you like anime he'll be chill with it, just don't act like the stereotypical weeb and he's fine.
Learning words is one thing, overdramatizing, glorifying and exaggerating Japanese things annoys him.
Fortunately, you're reasonably calm with your devotion for it, and he doesn't mind.
Would get a bit nervous if you decide to actively pursue Japanese, after all, what if you overhear him talking to one of his shadier acquaintances and pick out the context?
Would overtime subtly monitor you, gauge how much you know and how quickly you're progressing.
Overall supportive though, enjoys the fact you like Japan. :]
Tumblr media
Literally doesn't care. At all.
You like Japan? Cool. Good for you.
Much prefers for you to not harass him about Japanese words and phrases, unless he tolerates likes you enough, to which he'll blurt out something along the lines of: "Go fuck yourself".
Will probably teach you insults (he says it's to insult you, but we all know the real reason teehee)
If you're hanging out somewhere and Geo spies Japanese text, he might point it out to see if you know it, to which you'll be racking your brain until he relents and tell you.
Eventually will start briefly telling you things about Japans' history and art. Especially bonsais, he loves those. He'll never tell you though.
Will probably take you to a Japanese market/restaraunt eventually, if he feels you've gotten good enough.
If you order fluently enough he'll be genuinely pleased (won't show it though).
If not, he'll do it for you (internally cringes at the sheer thought aaaaaa).
However, in the rare event that Hyugo calls him "Subaru" and you hear? And understand?
That won't be good.
He'll tell you to drop it instantly.
And he will give you the most murderous glare if you ever ask him why he goes by Geo.
If he feels you've forgotten about that incident you haven't, he'll be more relaxed again, but will maintain a veil of caution now.
After all, you can understand what he says in private now.
That's not a good thing.
If you like anime he's chill with it, just don't be over-the-top obsessive towards it and he's cool.
Is satisfied you want to learn Japanese though. Likes you a lot smidge more for it too.

There's definitely a lot of self loathing in A!A, I think also a lot of disappointment. Because I don't see ascending as really doing much to A. Fix his trauma, or B. Net him the safety he really wants.
I think to a large degree his talk is bluffing, and coping, because he kind of has to believe. He's locked in now, he's killed seven thousand people, and all he got was a lousy d10 bite attack. So he's sort of got to lean into the idea that he will learn all his cool vampire abilities, eventually. Right?
But in the interim, once the initial high wears off, I feel like he's not going to feel that different, and that's probably going to be a huge disappointment.
That's also why I lean towards thinking he made Tav a spawn. I don't know what to make of the single drop of blood, because BG3 is so hazy with the lore.
But I think at that point he's feeling backed into a corner, less invincible than he expected to be, and most of the party seems to think ascending turned him into a huge asshole, Jaehira and Karlach if you have them are leveling thinly veiled threats. And weirdly no one is directing any of this at Tav, who helped him do it!
So I think he just really wants one person he can trust, who is unequivocally on his side, who can't betray him. And, I think he still expects Tav too eventually. Cause if it's been an evil campaign, well, they're evil, how long till he out lives his usefulness. And if it's a good game, how long till tav realizes he's an awful person and comes to their senses and ditches, or puts a stake through his ribs.
Making them a vampire spawn means that can't happen. I don't think he wants to compell them. But he wants the assurance he could, if it came to it.
I think in the post break up talk when he gives his lines about how he would have used tav's love. He is being honest, he's had some time to think and realized that this could have gone so bad. Bullets were dodged.
Cause I don't think Astarion is going into any of his interactions with his romanced partner with the intention of harming them. I don't think that feels in character for the relationship developed in the first two acts.
But he is a walking bag of red flags. So it could go to pot so fast. And I think he is smart enough to know that and be glad it didn't.
See this is the type of stuff I was looking for. In depth looks at what the possible motivation for his actions could be. And you're right, the potential for shit to hit the fan is SO huge. But it could go so many different ways and in that sense I feel like there are multiple versions of A!A based on the players actions. And yeah I think once the power high wears off, he's just Astarion with a castle and ability to turn into a bat. Not much has really changed and that could either be comforting or devestating. Depending on how much weight you put into the scarifice of over 7,000 spawn. I just wish I knew what the whole one drop of blood thing was about it's driving me NUTS.

This is a thought I had before that I'm rethinking a bit since they decided to drop the trailer yesterday (bless! Oops buried this in my drafts and never got around to finishing til now)
Warning: Long post! (I'm sorry or you're welcome)
I've been trying to stay away from spoilers, so I could be totally off base here, but
Thinking about how Colin will react to Whistledown
I've already talked about Colin having to be needed, but surely there will be layers...
Colin has that line in ep. 1, where he talks about ruining LW and how she ruined his family, yeah after she rips him a new one in the paper - it's a clear deflection. This was never going to be about Marina, or his family. This is about Penelope seeing through the very real facade of Colin, and the fact that he'll believe she thinks those things of him. Because he's insecure if he'll be good enough for her. He needs to be needed, but also I assume Colin will be hurt at the deceit and mindblown at what it means when he puts the pieces together. Replaying certain moments/events, as well as oh, that's why that was so weird. moments that make him feel pain about the sincerity of their romantic relationship right ahead of their nuptials. Because up until the carriage, Colin thought Penelope couldn't see through him. That him trying to be someone else was working. That he was concealing his obvious feelings well. (And he was right; when Penelope "is this a ploy for attention" Whistledown couldn't see him foaming at the mouth and about to pass out on dance floors to know that something had changed.) The carriage was his moment of admission to everything he's been hiding from himself. And she's Whistledown! She's the one who first pointed out those things about him. She even said "does Mr. Bridgerton even know, himself?". He is going to be hurt for what he perceives is her looking down on him. He is going to feel betrayed, because it will seem like a joke he wasn't in on about himself. He's probably going to cry from that, because it will all feel unreal (maybe even like their relationship is fake and she was playing him; he's still insecure about how he's perceived and fearful of getting hurt, especially with Penelope). And the carriage will probably feel meaningless to what he believes her to view it as. like: "what do you mean you saw me pretending all this time for weeks?" Colin was on a different timeline in his feelings and when they sprung into action, they really sprung to all feel like it happened all at once for him. For Colin, it was like they spent all this time together now, he saw her for who she really is - to be less concerned for how she appears to him - and it was like something had really changed between them. And then, to know that Penelope's got an inside edition to how exactly he is maybe feeling, before he fully knows himself.. It's like he gave a full speech on that part of himself (how he portrays himself), and she already had an idea!
It's a complicated scenario, because on one hand there's this conflict between them of the secrecy and certain level of deception (Penelope having this information he's unaware to when they're supposed to be getting married), but on the other side of it Penelope sees him and knows him better than he knows himself (and I don't even think she's aware of it) - it's really the soulmatism aspect of them.
But the carriage won't be ruined. Because Colin and Pen at the core are meant to fall for each other due to seeing the sum of all their parts. Colin now sees Pen, which as I was saying before was not possible without Penelope dropping her crush veil and acting unnaturally around him. Like, right now, he's sure he loves her, because the pieces clicked in the past few weeks. Pieces clicked that he's not even fully aware how or why they come together, and there's a subconscious feeling to the things that can't be explained. I mean, when he goes to see Penelope outside her house and she's like "Whistledown did not want to seem suspicious;" (girl, wtf ), that's a piece to Penelope that he doesn't have the answers to, but he senses. It's all going to make sense once he has time to process and be privy to the hidden pieces of why they are compatible. But, sometimes things just fall perfectly into place without the why.
And he still doesn't know about her feelings prior to the carriage. Like, he thinks, "we both got closer over the past few weeks and we fell for each other through that" (he knows Penelope has always been a constant and that his feelings go back far deeper although he can't pinpoint an exact moment, but up until she reveals it, he's not gonna think she feels that (he probably thought they both fell through the kiss); like they were just good friends and somehow those moments in the past weeks have awakened something in them that neither has realized until this moment).
But that obviously won't last for long. Same as a fight (most likely) won't extend into this long drawn out thing of actual opposition.
And back to the Marina vs Pen debate, the answer to the difference is as simple as this: he didn't love her; he loves Pen! There's nothing more complicated about it; it wasn't real and that goes beyond just the willing deceit of Marina. I could talk about the rose- colored glasses romance/love idealization trope and how that's important to the development (*cough how the change to the show makes sense*), but the crowd isn't ready for that. [I love Marina, therefore her slander will not be allowed here]. But I'll just say the illusion of someone vs knowing someone is going to be the biggest difference [and the greatest catalyst (more on that later)] for how this plays out. Despite not knowing the Whistledown secret, Colin knows Penelope.
It's funny how similar they really are. They're both over-romanticizers. They're idealistic and they both idealized someone and had the pedestal knocked down. We already saw Pen's moment for this, the vital poor declaration moment at the ball. Now, I'm thinking Colin is going to have to battle this idea. He loves her, we know this! We also know that Colin can be impulsive for all of it's good and bad qualities. He is going to have to fight this idea where he acts towards his deepest insecurities. He's sitting outside the bedroom, so it looks promising (lol)! He's angry, but he's ruminating and he's internalizing all of that confusion and fear (I know they'll fight ofc, but for the little moments like that..). He thinks love is a thunderbolt in the sky, not that he fell for her like that, but that love is grand, fairytale-ish; he is a true romantic. His proposal shows as much for his his gestures of grandiosity. He's over the moon about the engagement and he's in a happy bubble after the swift timeline of the realization of their feelings. He'll have to break this idea. Because Colin didn't know love before Penelope. In the conflict of the Whistledown reveal, he'll see that love isn't always this gradiose thing. But that it's moments, being fully understanding of one another, wanting the person, seeing them, and (very important for his development) having them see you. Because that's what REAL love is. He'll actually see the real her and the full picture. Thus, we can actually get the real love confession where he says it. His perfect love idea will be shattered, but the end point will be sweet and more worthwhile than actually not knowing someone. They'll have a deep, dork bond, full love connection for life!

Dropping by your inbox to ramble about my OCs (cause, the tag function lets me somewhat keep track of what I've written about them when I rb this from you) bc they're my blorbos that not many people know about.
So, as I've said before, it's a story mainly revolving around a god (Ares), a human (Genesis), and an angel (Samzaya). Basically, Gen moves to live her life as a lighthouse keeper (even though the job is mostly done by machines in modern times. but divine intervention pulled her there) and on her first night, a terrible storm brings Ares and Samzaya into her 'new' home. Somehow, neither of them can leave.
Originally, I imagined Ares to show his face from the very beginning, but looking at lore/myths, I figured it would be better if his face was hidden. By a motorbike helmet or a veil of a kind (to shove in the fact that he's not human). Samzaya's an angel who has watched humanity from afar, but never interacted or was close to them. They're a type of angel called a Watcher and those types of angels were the first to fall in love with humans and produce nephilims. They don't know shit about humans, and Gen + Ares (the most human god, as I like to call him) have to teach them how to act around humans ('don't go in all divine light ablaze, don't talk in that staticky way, etc')
Gen is... She's human. But she's also kind of not? Her mother was a Korean shaman and her father Catholic priest but before he officially became one. But she's also blessed by Diwonuso (which really shouldn't happen, and it's related to the apocalypse)
As said, the first half of the story line I have for the trio is them developing a relationship with each other, and the other half is around the mish mash of pantheons forcing hunters/exorcists/deities from different beliefs banding together to stop the angels and demons from making their own pantheon the sole one in the world.
Oh yeah, the three of them also drop into Tartarus at one point, and this results in trauma for everyone!
Have some snippets (+ some random footnotes and comments) of a WIP I was working on like three months ago.
“Not really.” Her voice sounded off to her own ears. Maybe she was dissociating a little bit. “My family’s religion is Buddhism.” “Thou dost not feel of the essence of Buddha.” She flinched at the trilling, high pitched sound coming from the incomprehensible entity’s general area as well as the sensation of their words being slammed into her mind instead of her ears. “For the love of Hades- put on a form that wouldn’t hurt the mortal’s fragile body-” the man said a word that she didn’t quite understand. But she could tell that it was an insult from the way the man’s lips curled and the way he all but spat out the last word. The incomprehensible entity seemed to turn their gaze directly to where the man was sitting. “Watch thy tongue, pagan god, lest I deem it fit to rip it from thine mouth-”
The Fates were bullshit, and Ares[1] could not care less about the children of Nyx. He hated the fact that he was all but thrown into the middle of his uncle Poseidon’s domain. He hated that he was all but fished out of the ocean by the mortal and the angel. And he hated that out of all his fellow Olympians, he was the most intimately intertwined with the mortals. Not Aphrodite. Not Hestia. Not his mother or his father. Him. Maybe Dionysus[SK1] . But his half-brother was of mortal origin, so he didn’t really count. He was Ares, God of War. He had died a thousand deaths with the soldiers on the field. He will die a thousand more. Unlike Athena, who strategized and commanded, only fighting with mortals when she deemed it needed, he had always been there. Had felt spears and arrows and bullets pierce and end the lives of soldiers. Out of all the Olympians, his ichor was the most mingled with red. The moment the angel unleashed their warning, he was shrugging off the towel- it was in Athena’s colour- and he was lunging for the mortal who had been surprisingly unperturbed in the presence of a god and a servant of ‘the Lord’. He covered the mortal’s ears with his hands, and he couldn’t help but pause momentarily when he felt how soft she was. He had forgotten how soft mortals were. Had forgotten how fragile their body and soul was. [1]Epithet to note; Ares Gynaecothoenas, the god feasted by women. The women of Tegea in Arcadia defeated the invading Spartans to defend their city, capturing the Spartan king whilst they were at it. Whilst the depiction didn’t show Ares’ involvement and seems to focus on the ability that Marpessa showed to take initiative. The women later partook in a feast that only women were invited + to honour Ares. And babe, he was literally the patron god of the Amazons.  [SK1]Do I want him to be Zagreus too? He’s also Diwonuso… A god that was once mortal is such a tasty idea, no matter how many times I’ve seen it done. Maybe Gen could mimic it to a degree? She could be the immortal cursed with mortality… Cursed to reincarnate over and over and over again?
Have I told you lately you’re cool? Because you are. I love this so much. Absolute patchwork relationship with three different beings from three different backgrounds. The absolute care Ares has for Gen? Oh, I love it. Samzaya’s a “I am so far removed from humanity, I know much and so little at the same time” which is fantastic. I love them already and look forward to hearing what the fuck their apocalypse is all about.

Every uber popular shonen series goes through this thing where they become basically inescapable for a long time, then, when the dust settles a little, people start hating and nitpicking it, until anyone who voices their enjoyment is made fun of, then an even longer while later, it becomes acceptable to like it again.
I noticed JJK is going through it bc there's this suddenly aggressive way of thinking of Yuji, and it always starts by hating the protag in some way.
And you know what? I agree.
It's a pet peeve of mine to see people constantly nitpick and nitpick and not say a single thing that they actually enjoy about the media they're engaging in.
It becomes even more irritating to me when people will throw out anything as a complaint when it doesn't make sense.
I won't say it's criticism because a lot of what people criticize comes off more as just being mean-spirited. They'll say "oh, this protagonist has a good heart and I don't like it". Like... if they're being portrayed as a hero who wants to do good then hello, they're going to have a good heart???
Maybe because a lot of protagonists are my favorite characters, but I really hate it when someone will hate on a protagonist because of whatever their reasons are and continuously doi it over and over and over again. It's like "damn, give the protagonist a chance to grow". If you can't, just drop the series.
And honestly, if you drop a series after one or two seasons, I don't think you should jump on someone's post to bash a character like "they didn't get character development". How would you know if you quit the anime? Shush. Just shush.
Like, with Yuji, someone in a video called him useless. Mind you, he said this on a video during the SHIBUYA INCIDENT. By then, we know what Yuji is capable of.
Useless? Yuji Itadori? The one who actually swallowed a cursed finger to save a kid he barely knew and his friends? Yuji Itadori who jumped Mahito with Nanami and not even a second later, saved Nanami from Mahito's domain? The same Yuji who tag teamed with Todo on Hanami and managed to learn Black Flash in moments and setting a record in that short time?
You're calling the Yuji Itadori who picked up Nobara to get her away from Eso and Kechizu and also worked 50/50 on taking them down?
Same Yuji who helped take down a veil? Same Yuji who fought Choso to slow him down so others could go and save Gojo? The same Yuji who boxed up Mahito?
I mean Yuji is even useful to Sukuna because without him, Sukuna would have still been just some lingering spirit until someone else came along and that could have taken YEARS.
So that's the Yuji being called "useless"?
Recently, someone told me that someone else was blaming Yuji for what happened to Nobara.
Look, Nobara is my girl, I adore her, she is everything to me. But Yuji was not the one to tell her to follow Mahito. (I get why she did though.) And I know she was in shock probably from seeing two Mahito's, but I would have moved before he could have touched my face.
I just... I just can't. I honestly can't find myself to interact with anyone who hates on Yuji. He doesn't have to be your favorite character, leaves more room for me and other Yuji fans.
But if you're really out here making stupid takes about him and hating on him, I cannot with you.
It's my biggest pet peeve with BNHA fans. I like other characters, I do, but I really despise those who hate on Midoriya. You can be a Miruko fan and say post something stupid about Midoriya and I will block you. And y'all know I love Miruko.
"He's a crybaby, he's too good, he's not badass."
Oh, but y'all were so quick to switch up when he was going through fucking depression even though there was three movies and five seasons of him doing nothing but great things, big and small.
I don't know if it's the lack of not opening eyes and really watching and reading the anime and manga. I don't know if it's because some people are just miserable and need to bother others because they don't like others having fun. I don't know what it is, but it's annoying.
Right now, I'm watching Bucchigiri?!
And Arajin, he's annoying to me, he is, I won't lie. But I'm giving him a chance for character development because hey, you never know. Same for Mahoro. I don't like her too much, but I'm giving her a chance and honestly, Arajin is just not taking the hints that she is not feeling him at all. The anime only has like 4 episodes right now, so it's nearly not done yet and I'm liking it, so I'm sticking around.
I rambled, sorry about that, but I just... I just can't sometimes...

woe Bertalan aka Berci lore be upon you bc I keep tweaking the damn thing lol
Tumblr media
His full name is Bertalan Atheldon, he's 56 during the events of bee gee three tho tbf I don't have a firm grasp on how half-elf aging works and as such I have no idea if that age fits his looks lol so I might bump it up. Again. He is a beastmaster ranger with an outlander background and he's primarily a "keeper of the veil" - meaning that he favors hunting extraplanar creatures primarily fey.
Berci is the lovechild of a travelling scholar and a farmgirl whose family hosted him for a while. They've dated for a short time and parted on good terms, Berci's human mom then married a human man shortly after so things got awkward when Bertalan was born looking like his elven dad. Berci was never really directly harmed by his human family, but he was never really treated as someone who truly belonged in that family. He wasn't hated but he wasn't loved either. Eventually Berci's mom decided to try and seek out his dad, in the hopes that he might give him a better life.
Luckily she managed to find him, and Berci's dad was more than happy to have his son join him on his escapades. Bertalan spent his adolescent years going from one digsite to the next, and while he never had an affinity to history, he seemed to have some talents for healing. So Berci's dad saved up some money in the hopes of getting him into a decent school where he could learn medicine and eventually become a surgeon. Unfortunately he dies, a few months after Berci begins his studies.
As you might guess, Bertalan takes his father's death rather hard and he drops out shortly before graduating, unable to focus on his studies while dealing with his grief. Still his skills were enough to land a position in a group of monster hunters who needed someone to patch them up (at the time, they're joined by a cleric some time after). One member of the group was a gnome ranger who took him under her wings after she saw him once patch up an injured dire raven (who then decided to stick around). So for the next decade or so Berci was learning the ways of the beastmaster ranger and working as an adventurer for hire. But then, that also ended in a rather ugly way. The group agreed to hunt down a hag who ended up luring them to the Shadow Cursed lands with the use of a mushroom circle. Bertalan was injured pretty much immediately by one of the shadow creatures there and the only reason he (and the group's cleric of Lathander) didn't end up succumbing to the curse with the rest of the team was that their cleric dragged him to the nearby Rosymorn Monastery.
After recovering Berci continued to roam Faerun as a lone ranger hunting malicious fey creatures with no one but Corvus (his raven companion) and Ursa (his mentor's bear companion) for company. By the time of bee gee three, he's no longer capable to function in any other way.
Berci is best characterized as rather blunt and kind of an edgelord. He expects the same kind of bluntness directed at him, he's dismissive of people trying to coddle him. His first instinct is to push away people trying to show him genuine affection as he no longer knows whether being loved or being unloved is worse and he would need time and genuine effort to overcome that instinct. Still he has a curious mind, he's eager to fuck around and always ready to find out. Because of this he comes across as someone quick to trust, though he would probably view himself as someone willing to give one chance to earn his trust. He also might come across as aggressive and intimidating but he's a secret softie with a nurturing and responsible side to him - and he rarely ever let's his anger get the better of him - still he sees no value in heroism as he sees it as inherently self-destructive. He has a strong sense of survival but he prefers stabilizing the environment around him if possible over fighting for individual survival. He sees power as merely a tool that reveals the person wielding it and doesn't believe in the concept of "absolute power" - such a thing is only relative to the current world and nature always finds a way to balance the scales.

Poly relationship with Hannigram head cannons
So like I've said before I haven't seen all of season two yet so this is going to be more like Will and Hannibal are living together in Baltimore and the reader joins them in their happy relationship. Reader is as usual gn.
Warnings: Mentions of violence, murder, cannibalism, reader unknowingly eating people
I'd like to think that you first met Will while out one day. Maybe you're into fishing too and you're asking for advice on supplies or you started a conversation with him while picking up groceries but either way he's very attracted to you.
He'll ask for your number which you'll happily give him and he'll go tell Hannibal about you. Both men are open to having another person join the relationship so after Will talks with you more and the two of you meet up together a few times he invites you over for dinner.
Of course he'll drop hints that they're not exclusive and that you can join them but won't outright say it just yet. At dinner you'll finally meet Hannibal. He'll find you attractive and will keep his normal composure like he always does, but this time with a small smile.
Any dietary restrictions you have would have been talked about with Will before hand and if you do have any Hannibal will be upset but after meeting you it won't seem as bad.
If you do eat meat he won't feed you human meat on the "first date" so to say, but he will make it his normal fancy kind of food. He'll ask questions to get to know you like he hasn't been reading your texts with Will and Will hasn't been telling Hannibal every detail about you.
After the first time eating together you'll be invited over more and more and eventually they'll outright ask you if you want to join them in their relationship. You'll of course say yes which earns you a smile from Hannibal and a kiss on the cheek from Will.
Now that you're dating Hannibal will slowly introduce human meat to you if you do eat meat. They'll pass it off as some kind of "uncommon" meat if you question the taste by saying it rabbit or veil.
Oh and now you're going to be spoiled by them. Hannibal is rich so he's not going to hesitate to get you whatever you want. Will, will also be happy to get you whatever your heart desires.
I feel like Hannibal will try to influence you to start dressing more "classy" if your normal style is more casual. He'll slowly replace graphic t-shirts with button up shirts and sweaters saying that your old clothes were starting to wear down. But these will all of course be to your liking.
Along with spoiling you your boyfriends are going to get you a few nice suits/dresses tailored to your measurments for any dinner parties Hannibal throws.
Now with physical affection Will is your man. He's happy to hug, cuddle, kiss, whatever you want to do all day long. Hannibal of course is ok with holding hands, hugging and an occiasional kiss but he's not going to be too big on physical touch.
Hannibal's love languages are more geared towards gift giving, acts of service and words of affirmation. He won't hesitate to compliment and praise you any chance that he gets. He wants you to know how proud he is of you.
Will's love languages are Physical touch and quality time. Quality time doesn't even have to be something fancy, it could just be the two of you watching a movie or going fishing together.
Will is going to try to get you to go out fishing with him at least once. Just once then he'll stop bugging you. If you catch any he's going to be so proud of you and the fact that he finally has a fishing buddy to join him. Hannibal will of course cook the fish you catch when you're out together.
For pet names Will is more into it than Hannibal is. Will is going to call you baby, honey, darling, sweetheart, dear, etc. Hannibal will stick to classic names such as love, dear, darling, angel, etc. He won't say it very much in public or in front of other people but if he notices someone hitting on you he might just ask, "How's the food, love?".
But Will is more free to call you pet names whenever and wherever he wants to. Especially if someone is hitting on you. He won't let you see that he's jealous but he's going to make it known that you're his.
Now as for dates it depends on if it's just you and Will, you and Hannibal or the three of you together. Will is going to indulge you in more classic date things like eating out or going to see a movie. While Hannibal will take you to the opera, art museums, etc.
Now if it's all three of you, it's safe to assume that Hannibal is going to be choosing where you go. Probably because he doesn't want to be seen somewhere "low-brow". So it's most likely going to be going to another opera or an art museum. Maybe even just staying home and watching a movie together. Most likely something more "classy" but I'm sure if you and Will work together you two can make Hannibal let you watch something stupid.
Now when it comes to mental health Hannibal has you covered. He can see when you're struggling and will make attempts to try and talk to you about it. He won't judge you if your mental health gets so bad that you're so focused on staying alive that you forget to do basic things. He'll also get Will to understand that you're dealing with crushing mental health issues.
But you won't have to worry about cooking or forgetting to eat ever again. Hannibal and Will, will insist you eat three meals a day and won't let you make excuses. If your job makes you work late and you get home at ungodly hours then Hannibal will have food waiting for you to heat up in the oven because I know this man doesn't own a microwave.
Your interests are now their interests. Will is going to show it more outwardly, like talking about it with you often, learning more about your interests, getting you things related to your interest, etc. Hannibal will be more on the down low about it.
He's going to memorize your interests and just so happen to find things related to it somehow. Oh you're really into gardening? He's been meaning to start growing produce why not help him make a garden. Oh you really like astrology? He just so happens to have several books about it, why not give them a read?
Now if anyone gives your trouble or anyone has hurt you really bad in the past? They're going to take care of it for you honey don't worry. That ex of yours abused you? You'll see their murder on the news the next day. Doesn't matter what it is, if it's bad enough than they're going to kill them for you. They won't make you eat their meat but that won't stop them from enjoying some "cow" liver for dinner.

AKK, OKAY SO IDK IF I ALREADY REQUESTED SUMN LIKE THIS (my memory = shit 💀✋) BUTTTT
Imagine Carl has a sleepover with Enid and reader! They paint eachothers nails, braid Carl's hair (he acts like he hates it, but lowkey loves it heh), take selfies together with a Polaroid camera they found on a run, listen to music on an ipod (they also found on a run), and get high together hehe~
Maybe they play Truth or Dare, and Carl being the lil' shit head he is, dares reader to kiss Enid (they're not dating yet, but it's more than obvious that Enid and reader are crushing HARD on eachother!).
Just some fun teen stuff with our fav holy trinity 🛐💜
Tumblr media
(I made this for some inspo for ya' :D!)
THESE TYPES OF STORIES ARE MY FAVVVV THERES SOMETHING ABT THEM THAT ARE JUST SM FUN !!! tysm for requesting :D !!! hope you enjoy 🩷 all these pics are *chefs kiss*
warnings: weed. smoke (and drink) responsibly !!
a/n: hope you all enjoy !! 🫶🏻 got quite a bit of stories coming out within the next week so look out for those :)
music was blaring through the scuffed ipod, the sound filling your entire room. Enid was busy painting your nails while Carl sat in the corner of your bed, reading a comic.
Enid sang along to ‘Bulletproof Love’ by Pierce the Veil as she swiped the brush down onto your nails one more time. “done!” she smiled, lightly fanning your nails with her hands to dry them quicker. she painted them light purple.
“how are you so good at this? i swear i stained the shit out of your fingers.” you asked, taking her hand to compare it to yours. Enid’s skin burned under your touch.
she giggled, “maybe i’m just better than you.” your jaw dropped as you gasped dramatically. “wow, okay.”
“i’m kiddinggggg.” she dragged out, hugging you from behind. a mischievous smile made its way to her lips as she whispered something in your ear. you mirrored that smile and you looked over at Carl.
“oh, Carllll.” you sang. he looked over at the two of you, staring with uncertainty in his eyes. “what are you two planning?” he asked cautiously.
“sit.” Enid instructed, patting the space in front of you and her. “tell me what you’re doing first.” he responded.
Enid huffed. “can we braid your hair?”
“absolutely not.” he responded, shaking his said profusely. both of you whined, “cmon! just this once, you never let us do anything with your hair.” you pouted.
he shook us head once more. “no!”
you thought for a moment, trying to think of something you could easily bribe him with. “you can have a whole joint to yourself.” you said.
“deal.” he answered immediately. you rolled your eyes playfully as he sat in front of you guys, taking a joint from the bag of the hundreds you had.
Enid started to brush through his hair as you gathered hair ties and a few clip-ins for his hair. “if you’re gonna sit in my room during a girls night, you need to commit to it!” you told Carl.
“yeah, yeah. whatever, just get it over with.” he told you. you separated his hair into three sections and started to overlap them, creating the braid pattern.
Enid nudged your shoulder, holding up a joint. you nodded as you added one butterfly clip into the top of the braid. she lit the joint and took a few hits first before she held it up to your lips.
she watched you take into your lips, take a hit while also exhaling the smoke through the other side of your mouth as you worked on Carl’s hair. a blush made it’s way to her cheeks while she watched you.
“done!” you exclaimed. “see? didn’t even take me five minutes.” you handed him a hand mirror and pushed him over to the one that hung on your wall.
Carl turned around with the mirror so he could see the braid. his eyes widened, “you added butterfly clips?!” he screeched.
you and Enid bursted into laughter, holding onto each for for stabilization. “it’s cute!” you defended through your laughter.
“you’re both evil.” he said, pointing between the two of you. you shrugged, “you agreed to do it.”
“i didn’t agree to the butterfly clips!” he retorted. “can i please take this braid out?” he whined. you and Enid turned to each other, “i don’t know. Enid… should we let him?” you asked in a teasing tone.
Enid looked up at the ceiling like she was pretending to think. “okay, listen!” he exclaimed. “i have an idea. the two of you play one round of truth or dare and i’ll come up with either one, and if you do it, you have to let me take this braid out.”
“deal.” you said at the same time. “sit on the bed.” he instructed. you both took a seat back on the bed.
“Enid, truth or dare?”
“dare.” she said immediately. a devilish smile spread across his lips. he looked between the two of you before speaking up.
“Enid, i dare you to kiss Y/N.”
your heart felt like it stopped beating as those words fell out of Carl’s lips. you’ve had a crush on Enid for too long, and Carl knew that. you would lay upside down on his bed, ranting about how cute she looked that day, how her laugh was infectious, and all you wanted was to kiss her all day and be able to call her yours.
you told him it was impossible for Enid to like you back. someone as smart, or as beautiful as her could never like someone like you.
Enid’s face flushed red as she turned to you. your heart was now about to explode. but then she smiled, and leaned in, connecting your lips with hers.
it didn’t even feel real, and it took you a moment to kiss her back. she put a hand on the back of your head, and her touch brought you back to reality.
she pulled away after a short while, smiling at you while she breathed for air.
“god! fucking finally. i only said that so i could finally stop the whining from you two! both of you just blabbering on and on about how you can’t possibly like the other. i had to put that shit to an end!” Carl suddenly yelled, taking the braid apart as he did so.
you stared at him, dumbfounded. “you… planned that the entire time?” he nodded, “yes. and my work here is done.”
you and Enid turned to each other again, not knowing what to say or think. you broke out in laughter, causing Enid to start laughing as well. she leaned in once more, pressing a short kiss to your lips.
“okay- that doesn’t give you the pass to make out in front of me, alright? i just had to stop the whining and that’s it.”
“listen i’m gonna go shower, if i come back and you’re sucking on each others faces, you’re both dead.” he warned, leaving without another word.
“so…” you trailed off, “you like me, eh?” you asked, nudging her shoulder teasingly. she blushed, “more like love, but yeah. guess we both ranted to Carl about our crush on each other.”
“poor guy. had to deal with our constant whining.” you laughed. you scooted closer to her to where your thighs touched.
“how long did you have a crush on me?” Enid asked you. “since the day we arrived in Alexandria.” you responded immediately. it was an easy question, the first time you saw her, you were entranced. “what about you?”
“the same. i can’t believe we both waited this long.” she answered. Enid leaned in once more, pressing her lips to yours.
this was the closest to heaven you’d ever get, her lips on yours.
you kissed back, tangling your fingers into her hair. you weren’t sure if it was the haziness you felt from the weed, or maybe even her kiss, but you couldn’t get enough of her. your skin ignited under her touch.
when she pulled away, both of you were breathing heavily. “i don’t think i’ll ever be able to get enough of kissing you.” you admitted. “me either.”
Enid picked up the beaten up polaroid camera from your bedside table and held it in front of you two. she suddenly kissed your cheek, and then snapped a photo. the picture slid out of the camera and she pulled it out, shaking it until the picture appeared.
“cute.” she giggled. “how much film is left in this?”
you scratched your head, “quite a bit. i found some more a while back.” she smiled, “good. cause we’re using them. wanna light two joints for us?”
you took two out of the bag and lit each of them. Enid held up the camera again as you both put the joints between your lips, and snapped the picture. she took it out of the camera and placed it on your table.
“smile.” she said suddenly, even thought you had the joint in your mouth. she took the picture and smiled to herself when it came out, “i’ll be keeping that.”
you shook your head and laughed. “what was that for?” she shrugged, “you looked cute.” she answered simply. Enid placed the camera back on your table and laid down on your bed. you laid next to her.
Enid backed up until she was completely pressed against you. you wrapped an arm over her stomach and laid your head in her neck. “god, this is so comfortable.” you groaned, “you’re staying the night. i do not care if Maggie gets mad, you’re staying here.”
she giggled, “that sounds perfect.” Enid picked up the camera once more, snapping a quick photo of the position you two are in. “we’re so cute,” she mumbled when the picture slid out.
you hummed in agreement, feeling yourself getting sleepy. you were so comfortable holding Enid like this, you decided this is what you want to do for the rest of your life.
“tired?” she asked. you nodded, and Enid turned over so she was now facing you. she laid her head in your neck, and her legs tangled with yours. “wanna sleep?”
you nodded again. Enid lifted her head up slightly and connected your lips. you sleepily kissed her back. when she pulled away, she placed one kiss on your head and laid her head back down in your neck.
“goodnight, girlfriend.”
you chuckled, bringing your head down slightly to kiss hers as well. “goodnight, girlfriend.”
after a few minutes, both of you were fast asleep. Carl walked back into your room, drying his long hair with a towel. he was about to speak until he noticed the two of you sleeping peacefully in your bed, arms and legs tangled with each other. he laughed quietly and shook his head, turning your light off before leaving your room and closing the door behind him.

@hannahhook7744 and I had a GREAT story Idea and I wish for you to see our brainstorming (TM) for it. Hannah’s in purple and me in orange, because colaboration and I thought it was funny .
(...I’ll edit whatever’s needed, yeah?)
Audrey suggests the idea.
They both end up happier because of it.
They all realize after yearS (They ALL live in denial. Except for Gil who thinks everyone else knows they’re dating.) that their relationship turned into a real one and they're all fine with it. They get out of denial eventually. (Yeah but it takes them ages). Definitely.
Uma confronts Ben about how he dropped the ball on his relationship with Audrey and his friendship with both her and Chad.
They get Jordan involved to have some media influence on their side.
Jordan is secretly cooperating with Ursula who is there for the drama (Oh course she is. Is she a good mom in yours?). (She’s a greek god – octopus. She has no idea how semi-human babies work. It’s a miracle that Uma is still alive.)
Cinderella and Charming are fine about it (but also it gets them to pay more attention to Chad, which is a win).
Harriet should be allowed to be a hypocritical bitch about her brother’s mess of a relationship
Yes.
Harry is like 'shut up, you and Anthony are DEFINITELY not in a closed relationship!' (So they actually admitted to being in a relationship?)
Harriet 'I Have no idea what you're talking about–'
Harry 'I've seen Ginny leave your room half naked!' (We will have to clarify they aren't sisters in this universe). (Yes!! Disaster Threesome. Loving it)(
Do you want to hear disaster hc for Audrey & CJ that fits into this?
Sure.
Audrey was like: So you think I should have a heir? Sure here let me just– *Audrey Rose named CJ Hook as her official heir*. (Yes. Then Cj is just like 'let's piss off Leah more assigning Freddie and Zevon jobs of power. )Audrey enables this chaos. Harry, of course, goes to councils with Uma and Harriet is asked to join after one (1) session with CJ. FG and beast are not having a fun time.
Belle joined one council meeting and They gave her hell because Chad overheard what she said to Ben about Audrey in d1.
Audrey's cousin tries to be a bitch. The sea three shut that down immediately . (As they should)
Can we give Arabella a minor corruption arc while we are at it? Just siding with them or something. (Yes. Absolutely.)
It's a fake relationship yet the moment  Chad comes to the lost revenge near tears the sea three are ready to murder someone. (They got attached). (The crew was betting over this.they knew they’d get attached. The swapped gold is ignored by Sea Three. This is normal.) (Yes.) (Any bets on who upset Chad?). (...Mal?) (Most likely).
Any scenes you can picture? We need a catalyst to kick Audrey into proposing this idea to Chad so that? Audrey explaining the idea to Chad and then to the pirates. (Audrey’s grandmother probably turned back to how she was and Chad probably tells her that he thinks his parents haven't care about him since Chloe was born. He was adopted when he was 6. Chole was born 2 years later sickly and his parents were working on bringing the Tremaine sisters, Hans—Drizella's husband, and their kids back). Audrey probably proposes the idea to piss her parents off and test if Chad's parents still care). (Leah should be ranting about multiple things including thinly veiled amatonormativity because she’s a bitch like that and definitely thinks that girl is a spinster by twenty.) (YES).
There was the prompt that went „Permission to off them?“ „Permission enthusiastically granted.“ That’s Huma when someone hurts Chad. Audrey is already dialing Jordan. (YES. and Gil is just comforting Chad.) (Obviously. He’s like, Should I go help you guys cause some brutal violence? „No don’t worry we’ve got it!“ „For the last time, you CAN’T kill the queen–“) (lol. I love that Gil goes either way when it comes to murder. Audrey is usually like 'no murder'.. but with some exceptions).
Also Chad just feeling like no one even cares about him trying to put effort into changing and thinking that maybe it's too late for him only for Urusla or Hook to be like 'You're a TEENAGER. It is so not too late.' Or Harriet. I'm not picky.. (Harriet. She’s done with teenage bullshit since she was thirteen. Also, Ursula doesn’t understand the concept of time. …Neither does Hook really.) (Harriet, comforting crying Chad, internally: “All I wanted was to borrow some office supplies and weapons. Why does it always end like this?”) (Harriet has become the one who is always telling teenagers and kids it's not too late for them to change).
Also Harriet *yells at a ton of reporters* STOP BULLYING THESE TEENAGERS OR SO HELP ME— (Anthony: No murder in front of the cameras–) (yesss).

Cole: Your hand hurts. It's pulling you apart. Dorian: Why didn't you say something? I could have... I don't know, something! Alaris: Whatever happens, I wouldn't trade the years we've had together for anything. I love you. Dorian: I knew you would break my heart, you bloody bastard. Cole: We helped. All of us. I won't forget. Blackwall: One more fight, then. Let's finish this.
DIDN'T NEED MY HEART ANYWAY.
Everything about this is awful and painful. It's fine! Starting from the top, Cole is once again dropping all the metaphors and twisty speech in favour of the simple truth: Quiz is in pain. I mean, what else is there to say at this point? It's a lot more straightforward than the trauma he spends the main game pulling from people's heads: they're dying, and it hurts! Although the description of the Anchor as pulling Quiz apart is definitely interesting; I mean first off I hope he's not being entirely literal there (messy), but also that does fit with my theory that the Anchor is fatal to Quiz because it's not designed to be embedded in a mortal person who exists solely in the waking world. Even setting aside the possibility that the ancient elvhen (who the Anchor was likely designed for) might have been spirits, the orb was likely created pre-Veil (given Solas's post-Veil nap and all) and so the Anchor likely wouldn't work as intended in the post-Veil, separated world. A purely physical being like Quiz likely would be pulled apart in some sense or another as the Anchor tried to exist across both the waking world and the Fade like it was supposed to while attached to someone who Could Not Do That.
Anyway, potential lore implications aside. Dorian. Oh poor, poor Dorian. The way he's audibly right on the very edge of tears the whole time (and might actually be crying a bit on "you bloody bastard") is what you might call incredibly fucking sad! Like, he's accepted that Quiz truly loves him and intends to stay with him and even if they're physically apart for a time they will always have each other and Corypheus has been dealt with and he thought everything was working out fine... and now this. The man he loves is dying and there's nothing he can do and Quiz didn't even tell him. That "Why didn't you say something?" is heartwrenching. There was nothing he could've done, but even looking and failing to find a solution would've been better than looking back on the past two years that he spent blissfully ignorant and knowing that while he was enjoying their time together (and eventually left Quiz in Skyhold to go to Tevinter, thinking they had all the time in the world!) his lover was slowly dying. And of course there's the kick in the teeth that is that Quiz isn't even how he found out; it's Leliana who informs the companions, not Quiz. Bioware why wasn't it Quiz, Quiz should've told the companions, where is my cutscene where Quiz tells the companions what's happening, I want my angst.
And that "I knew you'd break my heart, you bloody bastard" is like... yeah! Dorian more than any other LI possibly across the whole series is very aware that even if Quiz never willingly leaves him the role of hero is an incredibly dangerous one. But by Trespasser he seems to have settled on that front; he's talking about leaving for Tevinter for the foreseeable future and while he's clearly not happy about it there's no sense that he's bracing himself to lose Quiz! So he finally starts to get past the fear of Quiz breaking his heart by leaving or dying, and that's when this happens! Dorian always knew the odds that falling for the hero of the story would end in heartbreak, and just as he's beginning to think that maybe they're getting past that danger he learns that Quiz is dying, and was quite possibly aware he was dying the whole time they were together. Although of course the biggest tragedy is that we don't get to really get into that because this is all we get because Bioware didn't bother to include even a cutscene where Quiz tells just their LI what's going on- I am just never going to be over that okay.
Also Blackwall is here. I actually like him so much more than I did having been using him as my primary warrior this run (I'm actually kind of tempted to change my planned order and do a Blackwall romance next, I'm thinking mage Trevelyan for that?), and I do love how he's very much down to business about the situation. His friend is dying, but before that they have one last fight to get through. If this is the last time he'll be able to fight alongside his dear friend and comrade in arms, the person who gave him another shot at life after everything he did, someone he respects above all others, he's going to make it one hell of a last fight. He can't save them, but he can give them the send-off they deserve, and dammit he is going to do it.

Your Marius playlist is so good ‼️‼️‼️🫢I never would have thought of wardruna and heilung for him but it’s perfect 100/10
dgdsgaklsd thank you !!!!!!!!! I'm really excited that you like it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(Marius playlist if anyone is curious (: )
Sometimes people think I'm crazy because I don't really hear lyrics when I listen to music so all my playlists are built on VIBES ONLY. Marius playlist is like: Music That Could Be the Score of an Existential Crisis When You've Lived in Centuries of Darkness and Also Have Trauma From That Time You Were Murdered By a Pagan Cult. Any time I'm listening to music in the wild and I hear this vibe, it gets dropped into this playlist, regardless of lyrical content LOL.
The neofolk half of it speaks for itself, I think. I've also written meta about how I think black metal feels tonally appropriate for the Ancients. And like neofolk is one of those genres where like, so many of the fans are metalheads LOL. (I mean i got into Wardruna because of Gaahl haha it started there). And like I absolutely lose my mind over like pagan black metal/blackened folk metal where they bring in all the historical instrumentation into the metal like HJDKALGDS THE TEXTURE, I DIE, it's my fav genre of music. And it's just so incredibly bleak, but also so patient. It feels so heavy and existential and full of dread!!!!!!!! 😍 And thinking in a vampire context it's like ANCIENT OLD TRAUMA!!!! Bad memories from CENTURIES AGO. Idk man it just feels so good.
It's frustrating because like all the EXTREMELY SPOOKY ANCIENT MOOD MUSIC tends to be Nordic and I wish I could find some what had more Italian influence (this is a thinly veiled rec request if anyone has any) because every time I do go down the rabbithole and look for Italian neofolk it isn't what I'm looking for. I need like that deep terrifying Wardruna sound you know? It's gotta be out there, I will keep searching!!!!!!!!!!
There's some Balkan & Greek bands in there which are so great (Negură Bunget & Rotting Christ lol) and I have to go back and drop in more Karl Sanders for Akasha vibes lol. There are some really cool Middle Eastern metal bands too that use cool instrumentation (thinking of Melechesh) but they're not gloomy enough LOL. I need to go take a stroll and see if I can find some spooky stuff. And there's some really great Greek pagan/folk which probably is similar to what I'm trying to find but I'm looking for like the more neofolky half, like I need Greek Wardruna LOL.
But I really love most genres of music as long as it's gloomy and like the overlap of neofolk with pagan/black metal is like the perfect type of gloomy for me hasdkjga AND LIKE WHEN IM DAYDREAMING ABOUT MARIUS IT FEELS REALLY GOOD BECAUSE THE SOUNDS FEEL SO ANCIENT. And bands like Wardruna and Heilung give me so many God of the Grove feelings it just makes me think about the cult trauma. 🍿 (even if the regions are a little inaccurate please let me live, I'm doing my best with what I can find.)

The CK writers can’t NOT know how the Sauna scene looked! I don’t know what gay culture was like in the 80s for non-Americans, but I do know, as an American, that gay men frequented saunas and gay bathhouses to engage in casual sex with other men. It was considered a “safe” spot away from judgement, and part of the gay cruising culture. And the fact that Terry engages with Daniel in a sauna, apparently without clothes (?) speaks volumes. What with Daniel looking so frightened, all done up to the throat with his white virginal robe…meanwhile Terry towers over him and doms him without laying a finger on him. The scene is LOADED. Especially given how campy and off his rocker Terry was in KK3…and the general weirdness of that movie, and how much gay, grooming, and obsessive subtext there is…the sauna was such an odd and perhaps deliberate choice for Terry and Daniel to have an interaction. I’d sell my soul to get the answer from the CK writers on this!
Nonnie, I really can't help you. All I know is that both Cobra Kai and and of course The Karate Kid III are very mainstream pieces of media and they're writing for the mainstream. Now, I've also seen mainstream writing teams deliberately trying to write queer themes and kink and it often comes out really off putting. If you watch Hugh Grant in "Maurice", with the faintest veil of plausible deniability, you get a beautiful queer romance, but watch "A very English Scandal" and it's completely awkward and unpleasant. As for kink, Paul Giamatti and Maggie Siff in "Billions" are just uncomfortable, they're so not into this dynamic, like the writers, presumably. But in stuff that would never be marketed as "queer" or "kinky" people often end up having to fan themselves, and I think that's because the writers either are completely oblivious or they have to pretend they are but I'm guessing the former, giving the actors more freedom. I really wouldn't put it past them to think of that sauna scene as "just" a callback in CK. Did they mean to cast a female lookalike of Terry as Daniel's wife? They didn't even know they'd get Thomas on the show and they don't know how to write character - there's hardly any overlap between their young versions of Terry and Kreese and what Marty and Thomas are playing, and I don't blame the actors for that! And yet! Daniel's ill fitting suits! The way he still gets sexually harrassed by his "rivals", be it Tom Cole or Johnny Lawrence painting a dick on his face - somewhere the penny dropped for Daniel that all these boys not so much wanted to kill him but they wanted to fuck him and men still want to fuck him and I think it was Terry that opened his eyes. Triple painful that with Terry he was into it and that ended badly. But he's learnt to see it and he doesn't like it, if he does flirt people into buying his cars. Was that the writers or Ralph? Hm, I think the writers didn't want him to look sexy and Ralph has a no nudity clause that some nuns may find a tad restrictive (no way he was unfamiliar with creeping men in Hollywood, the way he stayed away from anything romantic in his films) and yet here we are. It reads as a middle aged man who has been either beat up or prepositioned one too many times. And Terry was the first to use sex against him. And Terry knows he was the first. And he knows that'll fuck with Daniel's head six ways to Sunday because he knows they have chemistry. And it's a brilliant role reversal because Daniel has also used flirting to get what he wanted from people. He would have called it friendliness and it was, but he loves asking for it when he knows people can't do anything to him even in high school, he knows it confuses men and makes girls like him. He does it to Johnny in the first film and Chozen in the second but when he does it with Terry he doesn't get the usual flustered confusion but now Terry is doing it to him and he's never been at the receiving end of that...
...but it's very plausible that in his sales jobs he totally was and it was Amanda who taught him to weaponise it and there's something very hot and very familiar about her anyway...
The only way I can get this to make sense in my head is:
Ralph and Thomas have always known exactly what they're doing. I really applaud how Ralph has played the shadow of Terry before we knew Terry would even be in Cobra Kai. And Thomas' re-entry in the series is seamless. No continuity breaks like with Ralph and Billy. Man is a writer who knows his craft and he made them listen to him or he wasn't coming on the show.
The writers do not consciously know - if they knew they'd try to undo it in the text - but they do pick up on it and it bleeds into their writing.

sorry i just sent that then fucking died (wednesdays are so...), here's a lil something based on tyril fucking a human mc (cis female) in a temple!
~~~
Tyril has such warm hands, something she would have thought unimaginable when she saw the pale blue of his complexion — clear as glass, smooth as ice, constantly making her shiver but never as cold as he looks — for the first time. They're warmer still with his long, slender fingers inside of her, pressing her into the cold marble of the altar, kissing her furiously as though he could swallow her moans whole.
Sweat-damp strands of her hair are falling in her eyes. Through the veil of her ruined (because it will be obvious what they have been doing when they leave this place, because offering this to hungry gods can only bring ruin, because the Shadow Realm does not lie in ruins, because he is her ruin) hair, Tyril looks so pretty, flushing violet when he meets her eyes.
He looks almost like he's praying when he lowers to his knees to be anointed.
Violet blush dissipating. Violet tongue and a string of saliva. Violet tip glistening.
When he's done, and she gasps, her chest heaving, slightly dizzy, her gaze falls on his hands. The hands that parted her naked thighs, the light casting shadows shaped like sacred objects on them. (Such a contradictory, obscene image.) The hands that carried her to the altar, placed her on top of it. And before — the hands that braided her hair and stroked her cheeks and tilted her chin up to kiss him, murmuring something in a language she is still coming to learn.
She reaches down, wraps her fingers around two of his, squeezing him tightly. The rings she wears must be cold — or maybe they're warmed by sitting so close to her skin. She used to be so jealous of the armor Tyril wore, how it clung to him without shame.
Now she is the thing that refuses to let go.
~~~
i probably should have been clear this was more of a story fragment and like i was honestly too scared to drop "pussy" and "cock"s in your inbox even with permission LMAO but hopefully this scratches some kinda itch.... uhmmm if you want to know why she's getting ate out in a temple on the altar, it's because i said so
nah it's probably just a cop2 diamond scene that got misplaced (please for the love of god tell me why trystan wanted to fuck in his sibling's bedroom. why.)
OKAY I'M OVERSHARING BECAUSE I'M SCARED BECAUSE I'M RUSTY SORRY I'LL GO BYE
also yeah i couldn't find that fic the author may have deleted but i feel like maybe they did a getting ate out on an altar scene too and that subconsciously inspired me.... shouts to u, whomever u were (if you were even a choices writer i swear i need to go on prevagen at this point i've aged 29393920 years since the prime of choices) (this is a niche joke for people who watch wheel of fortune. i apologize. okay i'm really leaving now.)
AWHEGWKSHEKJDKD ANON PLEASE THIS IS SO GOOD.. THANK U FOR SHARING IT W ME ESPECIALLY AS A TYRILMANCER I FEEL LIKE
Tumblr media
you say you're rusty but i really can't tell because AHHH this prose is soooo wonderful even if it's just a short snippet!! some of my favorite lines/ramblings under the cut because this FUCKS both literally and figuratively:
(because it will be obvious what they have been doing when they leave this place, because offering this to hungry gods can only bring ruin, because the Shadow Realm does not lie in ruins, because he is her ruin)
like damn the fucking gods to all hells, my lover is giving me this and i will chose her and she will chose me over the world!! i love it!!!
He looks almost like he's praying when he lowers to his knees to be anointed.
A LOVE LIKE RELIGION...MY FAVORITE KIND OF LOVE
The hands that parted her naked thighs, the light casting shadows shaped like sacred objects on them. (Such a contradictory, obscene image.) The hands that carried her to the altar, placed her on top of it.
"such a contradictory, obscene image" god bless you. i fucking love this
The rings she wears must be cold — or maybe they're warmed by sitting so close to her skin. She used to be so jealous of the armor Tyril wore, how it clung to him without shame. Now she is the thing that refuses to let go.
HONESTLY? things are much sexier when it's implied and when allusions are used instead of just like saying... "she's giving him the handjob of his life" or something. thank u i love this i am giving you cheek kisses beloved anon <3

1 & 4 for vincent on the comfort character ask meme!!
How long have I known about them? Oooh, a very, very long time; I have such vivid memories of watching 13 Ghosts when I was 4 and thinking that it was the coolest thing in the world that the gang had a Warlock Dad now. I did not understand the concept of a voice actor until I was around 7 or 8, and it was at that point I assumed that Vincent Van Ghoul was just Some Guy they came up with for the series. And then, when I was around 10, I found out about Vincent Price and my reaction was basically "He's real!?!?!?!?" (I mean, for real... there is only the thinnest of veils between Scoobyverse Vincent and the real Vincent, but that's an essay for another time).
4. What about their personality I like? He is the Dad Who Stepped Up and he didn't even realize he did it. We only got 13 episodes, but you can pinpoint the exact moment he went from "These Meddling Kids" to "MY Meddling Kids." The moment in question? "Me and My Shadow Demon" again, when he drops everything and flies from the Himalayas to Kyiv (he specifies Bald Mountain as where Befuddle Manor is--according to legend, it's right outside of Kyiv in the Ukraine) because he knows they're going to need his help.
At that point on, he's literally their Adopted Warlock Dad. Someone impersonating him via telegram to trick the gang into traveling somewhere? He's there to help. The gang is having movie night? He's there to bring the drinks. The gang is on a cruise? He attempts to get there to enjoy a family vacation, and then looks into things when he can't teleport in. He lets them stay in his castle and eat his food. The man literally starts to come out of a love spell because the gang starts screaming for help, I mean--
Tumblr media
Look at his face; it hasn't struck midnight yet (when the love spell was supposed to break) and he's already waking up from it because his kids and dogs need him, gatdangit!
(I have So Many Emotions about this, and that is also another essay for another time.)

Society if "Infantino Street" had been Barry's plan C for saving Iris instead of plan Z, so we'd gotten that episode halfway through the season instead of right at the end...
Barry could actually do the smart thing and not drop Len back in Siberia until after they're sure the plan will work (the cold gun is a useful backup), and when it doesn't work, Len is like "pathetic effort everyone, great job, how about you let the grown-ups do the planning now" and sticks around as a regular for the rest of the season.
And as plan after plan fails, and Iris starts that grim descent toward accepting her death is inevitable, she also starts making her own, private back-up plan. Because she doesn't have it in her to just not care about what's going to happen to her family and friends when she dies, and "Barry going insane with grief and killing people" is a particularly hard possibility to ignore.
So after Barry tells her that Len stopped him from killing King Shark, Iris's plan starts to take shape. She spends the back half of the season critically evaluating Len as a potential rebound for Barry, and then, once she's satisfied, starts pushing them together at every opportunity. She needs to make sure that Len's not going to split the second she dies, and that Barry understands she's giving him permission to move on, for everyone's sake.
Except we've seen Iris's idea of subtle, and so Len and Barry spend the second half of the season baffled instead.
Len is pretty sure Iris is going for some deeply misguided, last-hurrah bit of infidelity with the way she keeps trying to catch him alone and ask him veiled questions about his sex life, and Barry thinks Iris is losing her faith in him because of the failed plans and is, he doesn't know what, testing him? with the way she keeps asking him things like how Leonard's new jacket looked good, didn't he think? and shouldn't someone let Lisa know he was back, maybe she could make him stick around? after all, the speed force hadn't tried to correct the timeline and he'd been there a while, so maybe...?
What Iris doesn't count on is that Barry was right: he and Len are a lot alike. And as months pass and she spends all that time looking for the good that Barry always claims to have seen in Len, and finding it, it becomes a lot harder to remember that Barry is the one who's supposed to be falling for Len, not her.
And even Len's willpower has a breaking point, which they all find out when Len finally interrupts another one of Iris's—alright, flirtatious—questions with a hard, exasperated look over her head at Barry, and he drawls that this is a bad idea wrapped in a worse one and then kisses Iris anyway.
And that wasn't what Iris had been going for, admittedly, but if she's what's been missing in getting Barry and Len together, then she's not going to feel guilty about enjoying it for as long as she has the time left. So she holds a hand out to Barry from across the room, and slides the other one over the back of Len's neck and kisses him back.
Except. Except then one of the plans does work, and suddenly, Iris isn't going to die anymore. And she just spent the last several months doing everything in her power to tangle Len up with Barry, and somehow she got caught up in the net, too.
So she has no idea what they're supposed to do when the morning after she was supposed to die dawns, and she's still alive, and she's still in love with both the men in her bed, arguing about which one of them should get up and go make the coffee. She gives it about two minutes from the next time they show up at STAR Labs, with the hickeys on Len's throat and the bruise on Barry's lips, for everyone else to realize what's been going on. And then she's going to have to answer some very uncomfortable questions from Joe about how exactly this happened...
And on top of all of that, she's going to need to start looking for a very open-minded wedding planner.
