13. What makes you lose interest in a thread? generally it's an inability to focus that makes me lose interest or 'it's been six months and it'd be awkward if I replied now'.

also if people start nagging for replies. if I feel like I'm being pressured to reply (which doesn't tend to happen on here, but used to happen a lot on the forum sites I used to be on), the little bit of my brain that demands I do things because someone said not to just yeets the thread and goes, 'nag me now, bitch.' I cannot pick the thread back up because of that 'nag me now, bitch' mentality, too.

people on Tumblr are too damn busy to nag, though, so we vibing.

oh, and, there was one time (vaguely mentioned here) where someone's character: 1) broke into the Romanian safe house Bucky was in, 2) tried to force him into going with her by outright stating that he had no choice and she would physically force him if necessary (yes, the plot involved him going with her, but willingly, like after a conversation, which I'm pretty sure I mentioned), 4) threatened to grab him if he tried to run in a 'I will grab you and there's nothing you can do about it :)' way, and when he reacted badly (suspicious and unhappy, nothing physical), the mun got into my IMs to talk about how they didn't want him to distrust their character because they didn't like IC drama.

that is also going to make me lose interest in a thread because what the fuck is any of this. I'm still not fuckin over it and it was like 2-3 years ago. and at least one person I'm mutuals with knows this mun (as an ex-rp partner) and like. Idk his story with this person but my fuckin god. they tried to re-follow me at some point and I was like 'absolutely fucking not' and softblocked them. I was considering not unblocking them, but I was like, 'they have one more chance to not come back,' and they didn't come back.

16. What is a plot idea or otherwise character angle you want to explore more with your muse? (Bucky) haha related to that last bit.

so there's a plot with Bucky, specifically, that I've wanted for actual fuckin years. like, since before this blog was started kind of years. it's the start of my 'default but canon divergent' verse, where Bucky's found at the safe house in Romania and someone (shield agent, avenger, steve, whoever) turns up to talk him into coming back with them after the events of AoU. like, a lead came in and since they were in Eastern Europe anyway, they decided to check it out.

however, I've tried with two different fucking people to make this plot happen and the first didn't get past the starter (to be fair, it was a long starter from me) and the second was the above story, so I've given up. it's not happening. I'd love it, but it's just not going to happen. it's been tried and doesn't work so I'm taking it as a sign from the universe that it's just not a good idea.

otherwise, I think I've explored the vast majority of things related to him except the things mentioned in the master wishlist about Dmitri and HYDRA characters. the good thing about playing Bucky since 2016 is that Bucky's a very popular character. the bad thing is that he's the only character anyone is interested in so finding something new and interesting to explore is... difficult.

never had a character who was related to one of his victims meet him, though. like, I've had maybe one (very short) thread with a Tony that one of us stopped replying to and every other Tony muse I've ever seen just seem to be very chill with the killer of his parents. this one isn't happening either. no one wants the IC drama of Tony being a mouthy and Bucky just staring him down like 'why are we here? just to suffer? just to fucking suffer?! what's the point of any of this?!' pairing: collegeau!lee jihoon x reader

genre: slice of life, fluff, strangers to best friends to lovers

word count: 2,140 words

lee jihoon is an awfully shy kid. he never approaches people nor does he care to. when he got accepted into seoul’s school of music, he was ecstatic. but at the same time, that meant that he needed to make new friends and have time away from the people he already knew. people that he was so comfortable with. the thought of this has terrified him because at a certain point, he’s going to be alone without knowing what to do.

kim mingyu, his roommate, was almost the opposite of him in terms of personality. mingyu thrives to go out and make new friends, and loves the attention especially since he got into the school’s football team. despite these differences, they were more than okay with rooming together because in a way, it keeps them both in their places.

whenever mingyu notices that jihoon is home way too often, he would beg him to come out to a party to relax. on the other hand, jihoon would make sure that mingyu didn’t alcohol poison himself and always had an extra pain reliever for him the next day. they match well together as roommates, as friends.

it was because of mingyu that jihoon was able to be closer with his group of friends. a lot of them are in the frat group, SVT. he found himself naturally talking to seungkwan a lot because they are both music performance majors, and he’s seen him in class a lot. they relate to each other and harmonize well together, in music and in friendship.

during the first few weeks of school, jihoon intentionally would sit in the back. he never bothered to bat an eye to the other students in his music theory class. people are aware of his presence, but are too intimidated to approach him. that is, except for seungkwan. then again, seungkwan being the extroverted person he is, he knows almost everyone in school. but since they both have mutual friends and are in the same friend group, seungkwan likes to stick with jihoon a lot in the school of music.

whenever jihoon has downtime in between classes, he would go outside of the school. there is a middle area called the quad, with four different buildings— including the school of music— surrounding that area. it was aesthetically nice, full of trees, open areas, and benches for students to relax in. there is an open area right in the middle with a large tree as well. after being in the building for too long, jihoon wants to relax with fresh air, sitting on the bench. it became an everyday routine for him to sit on one of the benches, take his laptop out, and work on his upcoming compositions.

as jihoon was taking out his laptop, he noticed one of the girls in his music theory class. as far as he remembered, she wasn’t that vocal in theory class either. but jihoon does remember her as the one that he finds admittedly attractive in terms of appearance. is that enough to make him want to approach her? if he had the confidence, yes. but for now, he doesn’t mind just admiring her from the back. she had her violin case with her and set that down along with her book bag. she also took out her laptop and started to do homework on it. it became an everyday thing is what he noticed, but he didn’t think much about it at the time.

coincidence is an scary thing is what jihoon came in conclusion to. he reserved a room so that he could have a practice session with seungkwan. he had some time to spare and went to the room ten minutes earlier than it was reserved. as he was about to walk in, he saw the violin girl again through the window. she was practicing on the mozart sonata, he noticed. it was a simple piece but a lot of the interpretation was relied in order for it to be executed properly.

before he walked into the room, he just wanted to listen out of curiosity. she had great intonation, tone, and her interpretation for the piece was unique to say the least. it wasn’t conservative which was debatable to be a good thing in the violin industry. but the time was ticking and he decided to walk in. she stopped playing and went to see who walked into the room, her eyes widened. it was awkward at first— the two of them didn’t know to speak up and just stared at each other. but jihoon technically did claim this room, so he eventually spoke.

“hi..” he mumbled. “this room is reserved in a few minutes.”

“oh, i’m sorry!” she quickly packed her things and rushed to leave the room.

“no, no it’s okay. take your time.” he raised his arms up to comfort her rushed state. as she finished packing up, she looked at him and smiled.

“have a nice day.” she said, causing his ears to turn red.

even though it was one statement, it was enough for his heart to flutter. he nodded at her in acknowledgement. she closed the door behind her and was out of sight. he let out a breath that he didn’t even know he was holding and texted seungkwan to ask where he was to continue his practice session with him.

another time he saw her made him think: it had to be fate at this point. mingyu was begging for his friend to get him out of his shell and come out for bowling night with the guys.

“hyung, please come. everyone else will be there, too! please stop staying cooped up in your room and come out.” he begged jihoon.

“you know that i like staying home.” jihoon sighed, rejecting the idea of going out.

“please, i’ll buy you food for the rest of the week!”

“deal.” he said with no hesitation. he can never deny free meals. so, they both carpooled and went to the bowling alley that night to meet up with the guys. jihoon expected for it to be a typical bowling night but as he walked in with mingyu, he was shocked to see a vaguely familiar face.

it’s the same girl in jihoon’s class— the same girl that he had to kick out of the practice room. what’s she doing here? she was laughing at what seungkwan and jeonghan were talking about, and then she caught jihoon’s gaze on her. his eyes widened and he looked away. there are so many questions going through his mind. the main one consisting of: how does she even know them?

“jihoon! mingyu!” jeonghan greeted them and threw his arm around them. “have you met my roommate?” he was pointing to the girl. roommate..?

jihoon was scared to make eye contact again with her, but couldn’t help it. it would be rude just to look away. she still chuckled and felt her face heat up at the sudden attention.

“we’ve met before, actually.” she mentioned, looking up to jihoon. jihoon’s eyes widened at the sudden eye contact. this perked up seungkwan, jeonghan, and mingyu’s attention. jihoon sighed at them. “we’re in the same music classes.” he said.

“i was about to say..” seungkwan said, still shocked.

“yeah, there’s no way jihoon knows people outside of us and we wouldn’t know.” mingyu chortles, giving his roommate’s shoulder a pat. jihoon felt his ears getting red every second. he suddenly thought that having a meal is not worth it to stay here. “i’m mingyu, by the way.” he introduced himself, holding out his hand.

“i’m (y/n), nice to meet you.” she happily shook his hand. “i’m a music performance major, and jeonghan and jisoo’s roommate.”

“you already know jihoon,” jeonghan points out to him, “mingyu and jihoon are roommates. that should be all of us, i think.” he was busy introducing everyone to her, it’s honestly going to be hard for her to remember their names until they meet multiple times.

bowling night went a lot better than expected. jihoon thought that he would be awkward but it turned out to be fine for him. everyone also seemed to hit it off with (y/n). the more he sees her, the more it makes him wonder how she was never in his life before college.

she had a bright smile, constantly laughing and cheering for her bowling team. he has to admit, her laugh was addicting to listen to. jihoon could listen to it all day without getting sick of it. she would ask small questions to him in between turns, to which he would shyly answer. he’s not completely comfortable yet, but he’s getting there. nevertheless, it was a good bonding moment for her and the rest of the crew. jihoon at a certain point felt like he could actually approach her now that he’s acquainted with her. he concluded that he’ll definitely see her a lot more than he thinks, and he’s more okay with that.

after a few weeks, it became an everyday thing for jihoon to sit on the bench, and for (y/n) to sit next to the tree. there is no way that she wouldn’t know that he sits there, he thinks. some days, jihoon would be working on his composition on his laptop. (y/n) would also be on her laptop doing who knows what.

during those weeks, (y/n) was contemplating in approaching jihoon at all. based on the vibes in school and bowling, it would be weird for her to just go up to him. but honestly, she thought that he seemed shy and almost lonely. she was thinking that maybe.. maybe one day she can get him out of his shell. when you see a shy person, instinctively it makes you want to approach them and get them to like you even more.

so on one bold day, she approached him first. jihoon was on his usual spot on the bench, working on his piece when suddenly, he noticed (y/n) approaching up to him. he looks up, a little startled and she gave him a small smile.

“hey.”

he blinked. “hi.”

“mind if I sit next to you?” she asked as she pointed at the empty spot.

“not at all,” he says as he scoots to the edge to make space for her. she thanks him and sits down next to him.

“i always saw you everyday, and we also have mutual friends. i figured that.. i don’t know. i just wanted to talk to you. get to know you more.” she told him. jihoon felt himself being awkward again. he didn’t know what to say, and she could sense that. but she still smiled at him. “sorry, was that too forward?”

“no, no.. i just don’t know what to say.” he mumbles.

“that’s okay! i can always ask you questions.” he’s glad that she got the hint because she started to ask a question that piqued his interest.

“what are you working on?” she asked him, gesturing to his laptop.

“my composition for class.”

“oh, a composition major? that’s awesome! i barely know anyone here who does compositions,” she grinned, causing him to flush even more. “do you mind if i listened?”

while he was hesitant to let her listen, he thought at the same time that this is the perfect opportunity for him to gain more ideas from others. after all, he is in the school of music, full of students who share the passion and talent for it. perhaps getting input from other people will help with his music block. so he took out his ear bud and handed it to her, to which she softly thanked and put it on.

after listening to it with her eyes closed, she put her hand in her chin, thinking hard. this was not what Jihoon was expecting at all. he just thought she would say “oh, that’s great!” or simple compliments but instead,

“i liked your interpretation on this part. letter b, was it? i feel like that could be brought out more in the return because this is supposed to be binary form, no?”

his eyes widened at that. the fact that not only did she give actual music theory criticism, but she said something that he has been pondering for hours.

“sorry, was that too blunt?” she asked sheepishly.

“n-no!” Jihoon stutters. “i mean yes, but.. that’s exactly what i was thinking!” he quickly began to make changes on his composition. she grinned again, hoping to get him to crack out of his shell through their bond of music.

the days that used to be two individuals sitting alone instead became days of bonding. they began to sit together almost everyday ever since, talking about their passion of music and their interests.

what made you pick up the muse you have? i wanted to try tumblr rp again (i had once in the past but i never stuck with it) and a friend convinced me it wasn’t so scary so i got to thinking well… who can i write and who do i kind of want to write? in my former rpc community, marvel was NOT a hot place… garbage fire actually, and if you were writing a canon it was even more of a dumpster fire. that being said, i really wanted to try my hand at peter parker, and i’d already been writing a lot for him outside of rp for fun. i used to have a little fic type thing that was ic/first pov and it brought me a lot of joy. liam was a test, more than anything. i’m surprised that they’re still a muse i write. they were an oc i made with a friend for fun and i thought why not give it a go and the love has just been so overwhelming that i can’t imagine a blog without liam and peter. they’re a package deal

is there anything you don’t like to write? probably just smut? i don’t think anything else comes to mind

is there anything you really enjoy writing? chaotic and nonsensical threads will always be some of my favorite. often it’s something i can write a lot quicker but also makes me think and try new things. i love when a thread makes me learn. i love learning so also any threads that open my eyes to something or broaden my knowledge about a subject. crossovers are really good for this because i get to explore new shows/movies or revisit loved ones.

how do you come up with your headcanons? something probably happened to me in the moment or i stared at a pinterest board or i heard it in a song

do you write in silence or do you play music? it takes a very specific kind of music to make me write. i either have to be so disinterested and unfamiliar with it or extremely familiar, like know all the words and the pacing. this has led to some embarrassing top five end of year songs

do you plan your replies or wing them? mostly i just wing it but if i get an idea for a future piece of dialogue or concept i will write it down in my notes

do you enjoy shipping? yes, but i don’t think it’s a must or priority! i love it if it happens or if you have any interest in it, but i’m not really always thinking about it

I've always been an extremely empathetic person even as a small child. I assumed I'd eventually harden as I grew older, but I'm still a complete marshmallow. The ability to empathize is a measurement of one's humanity so I consider it an important character trait.

Unfortunately, no. We lost our beloved fourteen-year-old boxer in April of last year. I know all dog owners say their pupper is the best, but Belen Blue was the most lovely pet companion I had the pleasure of knowing. She was 80lbs of pure muscle but a complete silly clown that loved to run around in circles and play chasey-chase. She was everyone's friend whether it be a dog at the dog park or a stranger she'd met on a walk. Despite her advanced age, she doted on my toddler. She was brave and smart and so loving. My husband and I are still not ready to bring a new dog into our family because the grief is still too fresh.

Coffee...I do love tea but let's be real it's not as glorious as slightly sweet and creamy coffee. Just to be clear though espresso trumps coffee. I shifted to a morning person a few years ago because my daughter likes to wake up with the sun. Introverted I need to recharge after being in social situations. Cold is preferred. I assume body temp and I rather have to bundle up than sweat. Fruit. Is someone going to say they prefer vegetables to fruits? I'm not sure what to think of someone who would. Sweet if it's between the two although salty sweet is an amazing combo.

[ olive ] what gives you the most inspiration for your muse(s)?

Probably plotting and chatting with mutuals. I've difficulty keeping things going if there isn't any communication. I also love reading others' bios and world-building trying to figure out how the muses could intersect.

[ azure ] is there a specific character or type of character you want to write but never have? why?

Honestly, no. I've written across the spectrum of tropes for the most part. I've been around for a while and have been fortunate enough to formulate and develop muses that have bubbled up.

Fluff all the way. I'm such a nerd for it, but angst is pretty amazing as well especially when it comes before the fluff. Paras, I just can't do one-liners there's not enough substance to keep me interested. Plotting because it feeds the muse. It's a tie between the memes and stater calls because I enjoy both a lot. You typically get a smidge more depth with starters, but every once and a while the perfect meme floats into the inbox. Multimuse is my preference because I like to explore different ships (kin/romantic/platonic), and build a world with an overarching plot.

Yes yes yes! Good. Excellent. Love it.

Gonna do a quick scaffold then see how excited the muse gets for actual writing.

So the boys are locked in a room. It’s big enough for the three of them but it’s definitely like a walk in closet or a trainers office. This is during training camp. One of the rookies/new guys thought it would be funny. None of the core are laughing.

Sid keeps banging on the door hoping someone will hear him. Kris has already tried texting for help but he’s got no cell service and something is wrong with his phone’s WiFi. Geno, is glaring at the wall in a corner. Eventually someone is gonna have to walk by and realize they’re in there. Or it’ll hit skate time, video review, or some other meeting, and people will notice they’re missing. The person will have to tell someone and he’ll have to let them out. They won’t be locked in here forever.

In the meantime, they’re locked in a room. Kris is annoyed because they should have locked Sid and Geno in a room together years ago (trust him, he and Flower discussed it) so they’d get over their pining, but why’d it have to include him? Kris is under the impression Sid and Geno got together after the 16-17 cups. They did. It didn’t work out.

Sid and Geno dated briefly during the 17-18 season, broke up sometime fall of 18, and have been on-again-off-again sometimes partners sometimes fuckbuddies ever since. They can’t stay away from each other but every time they give the relationship a shot it fizzles after a couple months. They’ve never lasted over a summer and it’s hard. They were in an off period during Geno’s contract negotiations which added a lot of stress. They do love each other and miss each other when they’re not together, hence the mutual pining on their end, but they haven’t figured out how to make it work in a way that sticks.

It’s been a longer than usual off season and they both missed each other terribly. Neither of them wants to suggest getting back together just yet because I do think it ended badly in the spring but the summer apart soothed their hurts and stirred up the pining so they’re back to missing each other. Both of them are trying very hard not to think about how that conversation is on the horizon, especially since they’re locked in a room with their close friend who they’ve never officially told they’re dating.

Fun fact about these two, they’re also both interested in Kris, which Kris doesn’t know. Idk if Sid and Geno have talked to each about their mutual attraction to Kris but it’s there, and it makes the feelings conversation harder.

Kris now, he kinda fell in love with both of them at different points in the last couple years. Between Flower and Duper leaving, stepping up into the alternate captain role, everything about the pandemic and the stuff after, he just ended up spending a lot of time with them organically and feelings started blossoming on his end. He’s not gonna act on it with his two friends that are together.

The time they spent is why he thinks they’re together. They never explained the breakups or makeups or any of the complicated relationship drama. They’ve never even told him they were together, Tanger just knows them well enough to pick up on it and what they stopped hiding.

Having said all of that I have no idea how this fic actually resolves. It’s been a hot minute since my brain wanted to juggle dialogue and I really should stretch myself to write it but it’s midnight and it’s a school night. I have to be up at 8am to go into work.

Sid bangs on the door. Geno snipes at him about it. Sid turns around to yell at him cause calling for help isn’t working. I think they go back and forth for a while and then Tanger makes a joke about getting a room or seven minutes in heaven in an attempt to diffuse the tension and accidentally gets both of them staring at him. They admit they’re not together. Tanger doesn’t know how to react to that. I’m not sure how the convo gets to the feelings admission. Maybe Tanger asks what happened and they have to explain?

I think during the convo Sid admits that even when they’re off he’s not seeing or sleeping with anyone. The one time he tried to hookup he just ended up missing Geno. Geno probably echos the same. It’s cute. Maybe the couple is back together. Maybe they even kiss. Idk.

I’m unclear how we get to Tanger confessing. Does he mumble something about wishing he could have been that rebound hookup that didn’t go anywhere? Does he say something about how he thought they were together so he never said anything? Does Sid try and echo his joke about getting a room and Tanger admits that he doesn’t hate it since it’s them. Idk. Somewhere in there Tanger admits his feelings, maybe before getting Sid and Geno back together, maybe after.

Either way both Sid and Geno are like wait you like me/us? Tanger wants them to forget it but when has Sid ever forgotten a thing once he’s set his eyes on it? When has Geno taken his eyes off the puck? Anyway I think they lock eyes and decide they’re seducing him, which they do. There’s maybe love/feelings confessions in there but there’s also a bunch of kissing and maybe some blow jobs so Kris can see how much they care for him as well. It’s a good moment. Geno suggests that maybe the reason him and Sid never worked out is because they didn’t have Kris. It’s the three of them on the ice, maybe they need the three of them off the ice to work too. Sid likes that very much and Kris just had an orgasm so he’s feeling pretty agreeable.

It’s still not until an hour after that that they get let out of the room. They have time to negotiate and plan their relationship. Also cuddles (geno gets cuddly after orgasms, not that he’d admit it).

Hello tender lumplings.

Well I'll get the 'quiet' part out of the way. In spite of what a few naysayers may say, this blog is still a Nightmare Before Christmas fan comic blog, despite it's recent up-tick in fundraisers you're seeing. It is STILL going to be open. It is DEFINITELY going to have comics. So why all the donations? Besides the moral reasons of me wanting to get the word out and help save innocent people's lives, I think some people are under the impression that, when this blog's in it's 'inactive' periods; Late Jan - August, it just is tnbc themed only. That's....not what I ever intended for it.

I generally try and make it a place to promote myself, my friends, important campaigns and more. TNBC and Burtoneseque/Selickism musings are a give-in, but I want to try and help out myself and fellows artists and bloggers. My blog is followed by some wonderful people and a lot of fellow TNBC-ish mutuals who like the same things I like. I want to get them their traction to. I support who I want and, yes, I'm open to @s far and wide from smaller blogs wanting some eyes on their work, not just dire campaigns. As for the blog itself, for one, YES I'm going to still be reblogging and sharing updates on Palestine fundraisers throughout September - November. If that's awkward amidst my kooky comic updates than that's on me. Keep in mind I myself am not a vetter-organizer or officially affiliated with any organizations that help people in Gaza. I follow resources (namely @90-ghost, @el-shab-hussein and others) made by blogs who are better than me at this and try to get those stories out. My own financial situation is all fraught right now, so I'm out of donation-money I set aside for month. But again, that's why I'm doing with the reblogs.

As for comic news:

This blog and my original characters @odditiesnoctobermidnightroad are both turning TEN YEARS OLD this year. Ten years. That means three years left to make all the comics I've wanted to make for this blog, but also that this particular year is going to be something special and something I hope to have out sooner than later as it will be going on till Halloween Day (thurs Oct 31st)!!

The 'Halloween Mailbox' will not be open this year for Halloween itself on account of how much time the new comic will take, but things will settle down in time for Xmas, where I hope to have a bit creative fun with the mailbox.

  plot or memes — I'm okay with either!! Memes can be really fun for throwing muses into situations I haven't thought of yet- but it's so hard to beat the fun of plotting with someone, even if it can be really nervewracking to reach out!!

  long or short replies — It can depend on what we've previously written together, or what's already in the thread!! I have an easier time with long replies of all things, because I overthink my short replies! 😂

  best time to write — Whenever the time finds me!! I'm usually so worn out by the end of the day, but my writing tends to come in really strong bursts towards the end of the day!! (Late night writing sprees are also common for me, so if you see me reply to a thread at 2 AM.. 😂)

RP PET PEEVES / DEALBREAKERS. idk but i always feel :// when i write a starter then they unfollow me afterwards bc the prose i use. i'd suggest that you read my interactions with everyone else &. see if it suits you. i always discard my prose but sometimes it makes me feel it's not who i am so i'd like to have a conversation abt my writing &. i could remake the starter instead of forthright unfollow/block ://

MUSE PREFERENCES. ....powerful old men that is cunning, scheming in silent but also cares about others, however their honour/pride makes them unwavered.

PLOTS OR MEMES. both! but a meme is my go to for starter esp for new mutuals. i suck at making ideas at first before first interaction so memes is a spark for creation.

LONG / SHORT REPLIES. . . . long because i keep yapping. it's unintentional but i always ended up writing four paragraphs: first paragraph is usually the environment, second is connection between reality &. his emotions, third is his actions &. what he says then fourth is yet another yapping &. question.

BEST TIME TO WRITE. middle of the night where everyone is asleep. i can function more well with silence surrounds me.
