Just a quick note: This blog needs a massive cleaning up and bit or work put into rehauling things, but after talking it out with @honorisen, this is likely to happen after Rebirth's release! However, like I've mentioned on my other blog, please don't drop spoilers on either of us - We've both preordered the game, but as Kasa is super busy offline and I like to take games like this slowly, there's no way we're gonna get that far in it any too quick, and would like to navigate things for ourselves, on our own time. We already have a general idea on what we're going to be doing with our blogs come release, but we still want to play it ourselves first, which can take us a month or two to get our footing in enough to work things out blogwise.

I will say that as of right now, I can safely say this blog will not stay strictly for FF7. Kunsel (Who's been moved to this blog, hence the url swap some time ago between the two blogs) and Cissnei have had a Genshin Impact verse added as well as a fully original setting, and I do plan on growing these and doing more with them alongside the updates incoming to my primary 7 canon. I will also be keeping my blog's canon as is; I'm mainly Remake based and Kunsel and Cissnei are close to Sera and Zack and support them, and it's still going to stay that way. Further updates will come later on, after I've played Rebirth and have some time (and focus!) to work on things, both on my own and with Kasa. <3

Shooting Stars - SAGAU!Lyney x Player Part 1

Summary: Shooting Stars were always a weird occurrence in the world of Teyvat, so when they suddenly stop, certain magician can't help but wonder if it has to do with the strange aching in his chest.

Lyney had a weird feeling in his chest for a while, like a strange ache that won’t go away, it didn’t affect his shows in any kind of way, having perfected his stage persona, a little ache in his chest is not going to make him fail, but in the back of his mind, he can’t help but wonder what’s going on.

It all started a few months ago, the once bright blue sky turned dark and shooting stars fell from it, a golden star different from the rest, falling towards the Palais Mermonia, or rather, near it. Many people were worried about what was going on, but many others were already used to the phenomena that was the strange “shooting stars” that happened from time to time. Some stars fell into Inazuma, some others into Liyue, even some fell into Sumeru. Nobody knows why this happens, only that if a star falls on you, you receive a strange aura around you.

After that month’s event, and Miss Furina was walking around freely and with a smile on her face, the shooting stars suddenly… stopped, the sky returning to the usual bright blue. No clouds, no movement, just blue.

With each passing day, the ache in Lyney’s chest increased, the lack of dark skies made his mind wonder if it had something to do with the ache he felt in his chest. Why did the shooting stars stop falling? Does it really have something to do with him?

The magician went over to his dear sister, to ask her if she felt something similar, but she just shrugged, saying that she suddenly felt an aura surrounding her, no shooting star needed (Lyney failed to notice the way her eyes avoided his gaze, slight frown in her face).

Then the magician wanted to ask his younger brother, but he already knew the answer, as the month before the last dark sky, a shooting star fell into Freminet while he was diving in the waters of Fontaine, purple aura surrounding him (Lyney also failed to notice the nervous stare Freminet send his way).

Questions kept surrounding the magician’s mind, while his eyes were glued to the starry night sky, wondering if one of those stars is gonna fall. Maybe fall on him too, please?

Lyney can’t lie that he felt a little bit jealous of his siblings, both being “blessed” (that’s how many people saw it) by the shooting stars, both being surrounded by that weird purple aura. He didn’t want to feel like this again, feeling like he’s falling behind his sister or that he’s not strong enough to be the “older brother” figure anymore.

He can’t help but feel helpless. Will he be blessed like his siblings? What’s so special about this “blessing” anyway?

While looking at the night sky outside the window in the Opera Epiclese, his thought bubble gets interrupted when he hears people muttering among each other in the dressing room. Now, he’s not one to eavesdrop (at least, not when he’s not commanded to), but the topic of the conversation catched his interest.

“Why do you think the shooting stars stopped?” one of the staff members of his shows said, Lyney could hear the sound of boxes moving inside as he got closer.

“Honestly? I have no idea. They were already inconsistent, but to suddenly stop? Now that’s weird.” the other staff member said, their steps giving the hint that they were moving around rather quickly.

“Do you have any theories, though? I heard that the last one to receive the blessing was Lady- Miss Furina, and she sometimes is seen walking around with a golden aura around her! Golden!-” a loud sound could be heard, alongside the kinda loud scream of the staff member. “Sorry!”

“Be careful, but yeah, that never happened before, right? Miss Lynette has a purple aura, alongside Mister Freminet.” some steps could be heard, and more boxes were being moved around.

“Wait- what about Mister Lyney? Did you see any kind of aura in him?” Lyney felt his body tense at the mention of his name. A silence fell in the place, no boxes were moved and no footsteps could be heard. “Wait… does he have an aura?”

“I… don’t think so. Then again, only a few people in Fontaine have it.” more silence, and then footsteps started coming to the door, startling Lyney.

“His siblings do… Why not him?”

The door opened, and the two staff members started walking towards the hallway, some boxes in their hands. Lyney emerged from his hiding place, his gaze strangely blank.

“Why not him?”

On the other side of the screen, an excited player was looking at their primogem count. 296 wishes in their virtual wallet and 20 intertwined fates. They then watched all the materials needed in the ascension planner; everything was good, all of the materials checked, including his weapon’s materials (if they get it).

The player smiled to themselves and opened the wishing menu, seeing the 3 day(s) left message under the iudex’s banner. They took a deep breath and closed the game for the day, determination in their eyes.

Lyney, you will be mine. They thought with a smile on their face.

So, you had been playing Cookie run for a little over 3 months and had been growing your collection of amazing 2D cookies. You would rant about troubles to them, thinking you just lost it after all, they're just fictional cookies after all.

What you didn't know ow then is that they were listening, watching, and growing to care about you. The cookies would be excited every time you opened the app on your phone, but one day their hearts broke.

"I have to choose, Genshin or Cookie Run?" You ask yourself.

The cookies already has a rivalry with Genshin as both apps took up space on your phone. The cookies were terrified that if you removed the app from your phone then they would never see you again.

Everything went dark, the cookies realized you made their choice. They thought about their last good memories with you, only for you to open the game the next day?

Yeah, they realized they were on a bigger screen and figures out while Genshin holds your phone they have your PC. This made them happy and each cookie you collected grew to care about you in someway and also having to keep it a secret that they can see and hear you.

This last until you got Shadow Milk Cookie. He noticed the border, and was dropping very clear hints that he could see and hear you but you never noticed. You thought this fourth wall breaking was part of the character, and that drove him mad. So, he used his cosmic powers to reach you.

After an afternoon of playing Cookie Run you turned off your computer and went for food. While you back was turned the screen turned navy blue with an upside Pure Vanilla Cookie symbol. Looking you think you forgot to turn off the computer, and then a hand popped out from the screen. You freaked out as Shadow Milk Cookie pulled himself out of the computer like Samara from the Ring.

Once he's out of the screen he tips his hat and bows to you. You scream and freak out which makes him laugh.

"W-who? How?!" You questioned nervously.

"Well, I'm Shadow Milk Cookie, but you already knew that!" He says.

He explains that every cookie could see and hear you. They figured out they were in a game and coped... in a variety of ways. You try to get him to leave as you're worried he'll cause issues in your world, but you can't make him leave. Now you have a human version of a 2D cookie sleeping on your couch.

Meanwhile in the Cookie Run world, Pure Vanilla is scared for you once he heats news of Shadow Milk Cookie bridging the gap to reach you and the evil cookies also want to take you to Dark Enchantress Cookie. Red Velvet Cookie is voluntold to seek you out. So, now ypu have three human cookies in your home, two of which are enemies. You also have no idea how to send them back other than make Shadow Milk Cookie go home.

You get used to them eventually, so much so that you accept their cuddles. Let's get into that.

How chat found out: she kinda wanted to say it out loud the first day/month you started dating, but you stopped her because you didn´t want the whole world to know. and she agreed it was for the best anyways/don´t want all her simps to come at you(looking at you "cough cough")/. so she kept it a secret, still teases you about it though. and she was pretty good at hiding it, but then it had been a year or so and you moved in together, in a new house.

so obviously it was going to be harder to hide it, mainly because you lived together, but also because she was asked 24/7 to do a new house tour. she eventually did it, but without your office being in the video. it worked out well in the beginning but then people started wondering what was in the last room/your office/. you were worried about it, while she ignored it and acted like no one had asked about it. that of course didn´t help and only grew more suspicion to the last room. she eventually had enough and started asking you if she could say it, following up with her saying that her fans won´t come after you for it.

On-stream: she teases you, every time she has a chance too, and i mean EVERY time. she normally does that a lot, but not this much. she also doesn´t like when anyone else teases you. you´d say she´s possessive, but if you actually said that when she´s streaming, you would be banned from entering her office for a few months(at least).

Off-stream: she´s WAY sweeter when no one is watching, mostly because she doesn´t have that evil look in her eyes all the time. and then she´s with you so ofc she´ll behave(if you ask nicely). she would also kiss you more passionately than when she´s in front of chat/she doesn´t need chat to spread pics of you kissing all over twitter, that´s why/and she also hugs you more gently. over all she´s just softer with you but don´t tell her that.

how chat found out: they didn´t really think that you were dating at first, but just some affectionate roommates. maybe it was because they didn´t think that she would be dating anybody/or maybe you looked too good to be dating silver wolf hehe/. but either way, you ARE dating, you just thought her chat knew already. but when you found out they didn´t/because they called you her roomie, not her partner/you tried to show more affection.

so when you were home while she was streaming you made some food for her. walked in and gave her the food, after you just left a little kiss on her cheek. leaving the chat stunned, she just started eating her food, acting like nothing happened. she asked if anything was wrong and they flipped out even more, like wtf they just kissed you. she didn´t think it was that big of a deal and tried to move on. but they wanted answers, she didn´t care ofc, and didn´t answer any of their questions. after she was done eating and she just continued the stream like normal. you on the other hand was a little worried that she got upset, because you just kissed her on the cheek, and in front of all her viewers. she eventually revealed to chat that you were dating, and they should shut up abt it. only because she didn´t want you to worry.

On-stream: she doesn´t really care if you´re there or not, but id happier with you there. she shows affection, but not much. the reason: she doesn´t want to ruin her reputation.

Off-stream: when she´s not streaming or in a call you play with her instead. she loves when you play with her, wanting to share her interest with you. she does this while hugging you/maybe from behind/and kisses you to distract you.

she loves games, but loves you even more.

Seele

How chat found out: they properly noticed the person walking around in the background all the time/since her streaming setup is in the living room/and they didn´t know who it was other than a person with [h/c] colored hair. they tried to ask about it, but Seele didn´t pay them any mind and moved on. she kinda thought they were joking and already knew who you were/but there kinda clueless and thinks she kidnapped someone/but ofc you´re just her partner and she didn´t force you to live with her. actually, it was your idea to live with her. so they should quit thinking that.

but anyway, she was streaming(like usual)and she was in a call with some friends/like Sampo, Bronya, Natasha, etc/and she kinda got into an argument with one of them/Sampo/. because he wasn´t playing well enough and it turned into a thing of them dissing each other. the others wanted to stop them, but they didn´t in fear of getting into it as well, so they kinda just listened in on it. she then revealed one of his secrets, witch lead to him saying that you and Seele were dating, and not just roomies. she then got confused, and asked f they didn´t know/bc she really fricking thought they did, oh well/the chat went wild. and when she found out they were clueless the whole time, she just laughed her ass off.

On-stream: she doesn´t have you around that much/other than in the background/but when you are there beside her, she has most of her attention fixated on you. she likes kissing, hugging and sitting with you, even if in front of everyone. and she doesn´t get embarrassed about it.

Off-stream: if possible she´s even more affectionate, the only reason is because she doesn´t want you to be embarrassed. but if you gave her permission, she would be all over you at all times, at parties, events, on stream, in front of friends and family... you get it.

she loves you a lot, even when you´re not around.

Bronya

How chat found out: she streams a lot, like a ton. so of course you´d either get home while she´s streaming or just be home in general. she´s very busy so you don´t say anything other than "i´m home", when you check on her after being out. or other times it´s you delivering food to her. in general chat mainly thinks that your just some friends living together, but thats only because they don´t know that you´re dating, and you don´t plan on revealing it right now. maybe because you either were busy, didn´t want to or you were scared of her viewers reaction/but she does comfort you, and tell you that they will accept it/.

the way they knew you were dating, was mainly because of you two being stupid. she was on a little break/since she had been streaming the last 5-6 hours, with only 3-4 breaks(send help)/and you walked into her room giving her a snack and kissed her on the cheek. that would have been okay normally, but this time she forgot to turn off the mic. leaving you to realize that after you looked at the chat, because it was going wild. you both then got embarrassed and she turned the stream off. she was supposed to stream for a few more hours but ditched the idea. and in the next week or so she now had to introduce you, when you were fully ready of course.

On-stream: she doesn´t show that much affection, since she gets easily embarrassed and looks almost identical to a tomato. but sometimes she will do cooking streams with you, and try to show off a little/that would be even cuter if you were a baker or cook, just saying(totally not trying to say anything)/but it doesn´t end that well.

Off-stream: she loves to hug, kiss and cuddle you. she feels so much more confident when you´re the only one watching, so she tries to show that she loves you as much as she can. she also feels safer when its only you and her.

you had met diluc by accident. your mission was to infiltrate mondstadt, a spy on the inside. and it just so happened that you ran into diluc. seeing this as an opportunity to maybe find something out, you took to befriending him.

however as luck would have it, you started forming a genuine bond with diluc. whenever you were with him you forgot about your mission, you two spent more time around each other than the other would admit. and not too long after your friendship started a longing for more started to bloom aswell.

eventually one of you built up the confidence to confess, and you knew it was wrong. you knew you shouldn't build a connection to anyone in mondstadt but here you were in a very loving relationship with diluc. so to try and preserve this you never informed him of your true occupation. if he ever asked you would make up something about how you used to be a traveller who wants to settle down in mondstadt.

but maybe it was best if you told him. or maybe you shouldn't of built a strong relationship, if your fellow fatui members found out you knew it would be used against you. but you couldn't help but keep up the lie in turn for somd of the happiest moments of your life.

however as your mission had closed in and came to an end. you and la signora had done what was meant to be done but upon your final exit you had originally planned just to leave unannounced to your lover. you wouldn't bare to see his face and you couldn't bare to tell him the truth. but like the archon's were laughing down at you, you saw him. and he saw you.

cladded in fatui uniform with subordinates behind you. the pain that went straight through his heart as he saw you. how could he be so oblivious. he had let himself finally trust someone just for it to be thrown back at him in the cruelest way possible. the fatui had destroyed his family once and now twice. as much as it pained him and you but there was only one option left.

you had merely stopped in fontaine to rest before your long trip back to snezy. risking yes but it was the nearest nation to your last mission elsewhere. but just as luck would have it you had met neuvillette when you got lost.

you knew who he was but he seemed like he had no clue who you where. so you took your luck and asked him for directions to your accommodation for the night. and he told you but before you thanked him and left he offered to walk you there. you wanted to decline but you figured there wasn't much risk to it, so you accepted his proposal.

the walk over was mainly silent with brief conversations, but the one that caught you offguard was when he asked about where you came from. you understood why, your clothes didn't scream fontaine and he simply said he had never seen you ariund before. but you quickly responded that you were a simple traveller who wandered tevyat. he seemed content with that answer.

you had left the next morning. but not too long after you had to head back for some business back in fontaine, it would be a long trip possibly staying for a couple of months but you didn't mind as you were mearly keeping eye until arlecchino would arrive. but soon you had yet again ran into neuvillette. he seemed to recognise you from the previous encounter, and seeing as he was a pretty important figure and knew the hydro archon, you figured it would be beneficial to get even closer to him.

you often hung around him when he was off duty of you were bored. eventually you had let yourself believe that this was a genuine friendship and not your job, and little did you know he felt the same. and eventually with somd push from the melunises, neuvillette confessed. you knew you should've said no but before you thought rationally you said yes.

but with arlecchino's arrival you had to bid farewell. it was one thing to break up with him but it was another to let him find out your true occupation. but unfortunately luck was not with you. upon meeting with arlecchino and some of your subordinated you had informed them you would leave soon but had something to take care of and as arlecchino left you turned around to your lover rounding the corner.

he had never anticipated this. how could he of been so naïve. you, the person that had brought him head over heels in love was nothing but a fatui member. he should've stopped you from running from him, he should of for justice but he still harboured feelings and let you get away. rain poured easily for weeks in fontaine.

your first encounter with dottore was not when he was known as dottore. it was in his akadyemia days as zandik. you too were a student at the akadyemia, although you weren't really interested in it you gave had given it a go and were doing well.

you met zandik when you two had been put on a assignment as partners. he first had no interest in working with you and figured he would just do it himself but after your persistence to help he begrudgingly let you help. turns out you weren't as useless as he first thought. for the assignment there was a more physical aspect to it than he would've preferred and figured he could just load it onto you. ot was rather dangerous but he didn't care if you got hurt.

so he sent you off in hopes that he could finish the rest of it and be rid of working with you. but you returned quicker than expected and had been more successful than needed. okay so maybe you peaked his interest just a little bit and how capable you could actually be but he still didn't care that much. so why was he seeking you out for another assignment partner? he would say it's just because, again, a bit more physical than he would like.

and eventually you worked your way into zandik's heart. and as much as he tried to deny those feelings, his reasonable side of him wouldn't let him. and too much surprise you had asked him out the next day, the day he was planning to confess. he was lost for words that you actually liked him back. and to much much surprise you two became official.

but his more unlawful practices in the medical field had chased him out of the akadyemia. however you still supported him as his lover but this just meant you hadn't heard from him in a long while. that was until he had reached out in the form of a letter. and thats how you stayed in contact. until your days at the akadeymia had come to an end and you wanted to return to your hometown to do a job that interested you. but you had made a detour to meet with him for the first time in ages.

dottore, as your partner, supported your decision and you two stayed in contact through letters. and sometimes if your work allowed, you would spend your holiday's with dottore as the only bonding time you two truly had. he never knew or questioned your choice of work as as long as you were fine, that's all he cared about. and you had no clue about his apart from he was a doctor. but maybe he should've asked.

meeting arlecchino was by pure coincidence. you had merely heard of an orphanage named house of the hearth and decided to visit and possibly find a way to help it wether through donations or simply helping around. but upon your visit you had met her.

she initially thought nothing of you. but after seeing you a couple of times, you started striking up a conversation with her, you two did have some interests in common. and soon she found herself talking to you upon your visits. she never let you know of the darker secrets that lay beneath the orphanage as she figured that was none of your business.

she had a brief idea that you were someoneof high status in fontaine but never pried into even as your casual conversation turned into a friendship and eventually something more. the entire time you had no clue about her occupation as a fatui member as you figured she just ran the orphanage.

you two, upon your new found relationship, had started hanging out outside of if the orphanage often just quality time around each other. but eventually you told her that you had something big coming up and you would be in fontaine for a while, she didn't pry and knew she was also headed to fontaine soon so maybe she could surprise you with a visit.

but what she didn't know was that the important thing you had coming up was a series of serious trials among the court walls. you had a very important role with helping both neuvillette and furina in court. apparently one of the trials was with a man named 'childe'.

and unfortunately you had been informed of some less than welcome visitors near fontaine, so during down time during your trials you had ran to figure out what was happening. and as if the archons where laughing at you you found arlecchino. but not your arlecchino, the fatui harbringer arlecchino.

as you stared at her, you wanted to just curl up and never remember this day. but sadly she was here for a mission. her surprise visiting was more of a surprise than she had planned. and unfortunately you both had jobs to do.

But no, You've been playing this retched game for a long time now. Grinding long and boring quests which offer little to no reward at all. Repeating daily commissions, explorations, and events. Only to receive not even one useful character constellation.

Four stars appear subsequently on the screen, showing the art of a weapon you've seen so many times before.

That was the last pull you could do. Saved up Primogems out dry in a blink of an eye.

You don't know what to do now: Whether to roll around the floor in hysteria, to cry, to laugh or to just sleep and dream of wonderful things.

Like getting your favorite character.

"Ouh, that sucks." What a half assed response to that life ruinous occurrence- drawled by an individual of black locks with grey highlights. Who also peeped at your phone and witnessed... Whatever that nightmare was.

"Shut up Gen! You're so lucky it makes me sick.-" You gasp.

"- No no no you must've paid so much to get where you are now." Now pointing fingers to accuse him further.

"A sore loser too, I mean that's a skill issue babe." Narumi :3's at your frustration, easily riling you up. One of the plethora of skills he's most proud of.

With your mouth wide open at his words, you feel your jaw ticking. "I'll show you skill issue!" Grabbing a pillow to pour in all the rage you've accumulated from the months grinding for those shiny primogems. Smacking it at him continuously in commemoration for all the used blood, sweat and tears.

"Ahhh! Whats the big deal babe. It's not the end of the world—maybe the banner in a few minutes but come on." Trying to wrestle the pillow from your grip.

But to be honest he's more scared of you than any kaiju. Especially when your bottomless pit of anger plummets to the all time low, maybe pacifying isn't his strong suit after all.

"There's one solution to that you know." With his serious work face on, he says directly to temper you down.

......It really is a good idea this time.

"Huh?" You tilt your head to show your skepticism. The pillow now out of your grasp due to those distracting words you hear him utter.

"Top up." He grins,

Jutting his jaw up proudly. Like he's solved the answer to the world's greatest problem.

That kind of solution should've been expected. With all the Yamazon boxes sprawled in every corner of his room as a reminder.

Retail therapy is his go to problem solver then. (Honestly same)

"Don't you pin me out like you! I don't wanna become broke. I still have to buy stuff for our survival." You decline a bit too quickly for his liking.

Though he's still thankful for the added thought of him oh and the snacks you bring home- Oh great responsible partner, love of his life.

"But it's so cheap to get a welkin moon." Itching the side of his face, he deadpans. All so while gazing at his own account. Already maxed out on the current banners.

"Well I don't have a first division captain's salary now don't I?" A duh statement if you ask him- nobody has the biggest perks in this place but him!

"Butttt you are a very hard working individual- too hard working actually. So you can make up the loses. Plus you're very very responsibl-" He continues his yapping to why you should waste your money on a stupid gacha game, every word and praise coming out of his mouth you try to ignore.

But if it's something Narumi Gen isn't? Is someone who is quick to give up nor docile.

Resolute in his reasoning making it sound a little too plausible now.

Narumi observes your defeated form with confusion. "If your so worried about the money you spent then take some back from my bank." He ushers in disbelief, Does this really bother you that much?

If so he'll take care of it.

He won't run out of money that fast. Ah he thinks....

But! When the time comes begging officer Shinomiya for money is no biggie.

"That's sweet babe, but I don't wanna have you dirt poor as much as It tempts me. You've still got alot of pending Yamazon orders last I checked."

-ack. The previous loving expression takes a detour on Narumi's face, turning into one like irk. Animating itself on his face.

No more like the five stages of grief actually.

"I would expect my lover to have more trust on me! If you wanna break up with me just say so!" He exclaims in growing anguish, sulking as he pulls his blanket and wraps it around himself.

"Your loss anyways." He mumbles with spite-

"Nah it's cause I love you too much babe!" You're quick to deter his claims of you, closing your distance with amusement.

"Hmm and next thing i'll know you'll have a hate account of me." His eyes narrow in suspicion, his declarations only worsening.

Much to your offence,

"I'd fight those haters for you Gen, you know that. I'll right hook their bs so far they'll never see the face of the earth again!" You peck him on the cheek, changing tactics. Cause clearly talking enough doesn't penetrate his defenses much, So a hands on approach is definitely the way to go.

"Tch you're super lucky I love you." Sarcastic as it is, he let's up his sulking to wrap his arms around you- in one tight hug.

It seems like he doesn't really believe you when you say that huh?

....Another sigh,

If only he knows you really do have a fan account of him fighting for his honor. A fact unbeknownst to every single person in your life, only in the shadows of your room there you work earnestly looking for no reward....

A downtime job when you aren't busy supporting your captain in the field eliminating kaiju.

It takes a lot of effort, even if you're fighting a losing battle you won't let up cause you know how much of a good person he is.

So your solution to this problem....

Is to gather more Fans of him! By letting the citizens see some super high quality compilations of Gen fighting kaijus in the coolest, flashiest angle on social media- which no normal paparazzi could capture n' post unless they're directly on the field with him. Showing how awesome he could be.

But that's a secret for another day. You'll just busy yourself in co-op with him in this game for now.

Without anybody knowing your hidden identity....

The machine's chest slowly opened and revealed a cockpit containing S/O, waving hello from the seat.

Apparently, they had constructed the mech out of spare parts lying around.

(AK-12) "Impressive...But, why exactly did Griffin have that many parts lying around? And how did you find guns that big?"

On the battlefield, she watches the mech fly around at almost breakneck speed, watching them zip around and eradicate one base after the other.

Kicking tanks and shooting helicopters out of the sky, it was far more effective to watch them fight instead of having to do anything.

(AK-12) "Hm. We'll be out of a job at this rate."

94 knew this was going to happen.

T-Dolls would only last so long on the battlefield before they were replaced by the next best thing.

However, she sure as hell wasn't expecting S/O of all people to surpass her, with a mech constructed out of junk parts no less.

It was honestly awe-inspiring what humans could engineer for the sole purpose of destruction.

And it was also physically impossible. Something that size should not be quad-wielding miniguns and moving that fast.

(AN-94) "...How has your machine not collapsed from the Earth's gravity?"

94 is more confused than anything.

15 was impressed more than anything.

She knew S/O was an engineer, but to construct a mech out of the parts they had was nothing short of a miracle and logic-defying technical prowess.

(AK-15) "How does your machine constantly reload the missiles while on the field? It is the only weapon you seem to have, and no one constructed missiles that large, even during World War 3."

She can't help but wonder why DEFY was even needed if Griffin had engineers like S/O around.

Well, at least S/O was on their side.

(RPK-16) "I wonder if humanity will wipe itself out faster with these new machines."

16 is fascinated by the human desire to make machines to wipe out life faster.

Granted, Griffin usually just fought Sangvis which consisted nothing of machines, but it would only be a matter of time until everyone else had their own version of S/O's mech.

And probably not one constructed out of junk either.

(RPK-16) "I must ask, S/O. How can you be in the cockpit of that thing and not reduce yourself to jelly? Surely the G-Force alone would kill you?"

Well, it's not the first thing that humans have done that confused her.

(Angelia) "Hmph. Why did they even bother calling us if they had you here? And could you have done that this entire time?"

Angelia is impressed and annoyed.

If S/O could create a hulking machine of death before, why did they only decide to do it now?

She both dreads and admired S/O's tenacity. To make such an effective machine out of junk took a hell of a lot of elbow grease.

Angelia doesn't question it, seeing that it's working alright so far, but she definitely wants to look into upgrading it.

(Angelia) "S/O, with me. We're painting DEFY's logo on it."

(Amber) "THAT IS SO COOL!"

Amber could create Baron Bunnies with a lot of yarn, but S/O could make a machine that dwarfed Ruin Guards with some random pieces of metal!

(Amber) "You have got to teach me how to do that! And lemme ride it too!"

Amber demands to fly with S/O, even though she can't go nearly as fast as they can.

She watches as S/O wipes out entire nests of monsters before leaping away with its mantis-like legs to the next location.

Honestly, it made her feel jealous.

(Amber) "Heeey, can I ask one of those for my birthday! I bet it'll make flying around Mondstadt a breeze!"

Though as the outrider, she kindly asks S/O not to park the giant machine weighing presumably hundreds of tons in the city.

For obvious reasons.

The color on Jean's skin fades when she heard Klee helped S/O build a brand new toy.

One that put her bombs to shame.

And seeing it park itself next to the cathedral, waving hello to her as she was standing at the entrance-

She was about ready to faint.

(Jean) "S/O! Get down from there right this instant!"

Jean gives S/O and Klee an earful for making such an absolute monstrosity that could potentially damage the land and city!

But seeing it in action and fast it disposed of a Hilichurl camp, it filled her with pride and dread.

Pride for her S/O's creative ingenuity, but absolute fear for what S/O and Klee could make next.

Especially considering how fast S/O's machine moved, and the weapons it had.

Where did Klee find the gunpowder for quad-cannons mounted on it?!

(Jean) "I pray that it won't blow up the city on accident..."

(Fischl) "...WHAT?!"

Fischl completely breaks character upon seeing the giant machine staring at her.

(Fischl) "How did...Why...?! Get down from there and tell me how this mechanical monstrosity came to be!"

(Oz) "You just want to ride the machine yourself, Mein-"

(Fischl) "SILENCE!"

...But yes, she constantly nags S/O to let their Prinzessin give the machine a try.

She finds it so friggin' cool, and desperately wants one of her own, in purple!

She watches with some kind of morbid satisfaction watching S/O's machine wipe out their enemies in electrical explosions.

(Fischl) "I hereby dub your steel horse…Raven, of the 621th star!"

(Oz) "…Why 621?"

Oh, that's where all of Yoimiya's spare fireworks have been going into.

(Yoimiya) "HOLY CRAP! What on earth did you make, S/O?!"

The machine seemed like it leapt from another world!

Especially with how fast it moved, honestly she was amazed S/O wasn't vomiting their guts out as soon as they exited.

While it seemed like it would do massive damage, instead they used it for something even better.

As the machine soared above the skies of Inazuma, the cannons on the arms and shoulders fired toward the moon, the starry night exploding into hundreds of beautiful colors!

They had transformed their machine into a firework powerhouse!

And with how fast it moved, it was able to provide a show from one island to another!

(Yoimiya) "Next festival, you're letting me ride with you! I want to see the work we've done up close!"

he would await it one day that you‘d come into his office and tell him that you‘re awaiting. it would definitely happen some day sooner or later, i mean this man has clearly no other choice, he is the head of the clan and that requires that he would get an heir some day. of course he is over the moon when you told him. not only because he‘s relieved that it finally happened even with some problems at the way. on the other hand he feels a sort of relieve because he isn‘t the only one without a child on the way anymore.

but of course he is also happy for the both of you to finally get the family you wanted.

to the dismay with many other high society people the baby turns out to be a girl but you two honestly doesn’t care about the gender and nobody says that that would be the last one, aren‘t they?

he would move his whole working space into your private chambers so he can be with you in an emergency. he has experienced the pregnancy of his mother with his younger sister and he wouldn’t forgive himself if he would let you go through this.

if you would fight with nausea he would personally take the best care of you. if he‘d find you bent over the toilet he will gently take your hair back and pat your back until it‘s over. then he would carry you to your marital bed, lay down with you and massage your back until you‘re feeling better and can rest. also he would ask thoma to prepare a stomach-friendly tea and get you anything you want (i mean this man is one of the richest people in teyvat so what would be better to spend the money than his own family?).

after he came home from a 3-month mission you‘d suprised him with a tiny yellow box with a blue little sweater and a positive pregnancy test in there. he just looks at you completely confused but as he opens the box, revealing a little blue wool pullover and a positive pregnancy test. his eyes turn wide as he looks with a small smile at you.

„you are? how far are you lovely?“ he asks you. „well yes it happened on our ‚goodbye-fuck‘ and after i felt nauseous and tired i went to the doctor and he only confirmed my suspension.“

after hearing the confirmation he broke down in tears and hugged you. now everything was okay. he was with you in his homeland, you and his family were safe, and now you, you the love of his life, the person he always wanted children with, were pregnant. so this evening, in the small illuminated corridor, he let his guard down.

with your pregnancy he becomes at least 10 times more overprotective than he already is. poor man he just want you and his unborn child be safe, but you still the stubborn woman he fell in love with, you want to continue your work at the adventures guild. after a long and loud discussion with some yelling by you, caused by your pregnancy hormones, he finally obliged to continue your work but still till the 6th month and only paperwork. you were literally so upset with him after his decision so you slept on the couch. in the morning he came to you begging to you that he can‘t sleep another night without you.

he will spend much more time with you, writing the tsaritsa a letter, explaining the situation and he got the half-time of his work off. you will spend this time often with his family sitting in the warm living room playing games and looking at photos when ajax was only a baby (i want to see this pictures so bad) and his mother will knit a sweater for the baby when the name is decided. like the weasley christmas sweater thing (ofc you and the others already have one)

Yes actually!

Shocking I know, but yall haven't heard from me bc I've been having a busy year.

TLDR: Moved out of homestate year after graduating college, working paycheck to paycheck now, while taking online class (still taking, ill be done mid january), got hit by Hurricane Helene like 6 months? After moving here, and have been recovering from that while also maintaining job/class.

(It was like Katrina but for this area, bc they were unprepared for hurricanes here)

Have had No time yo work on my hobbies really, and if anyone remembers by now, ive been working on a followup fic for the eldritch reader sagau one shot from,, last year? Idk anymore, point is!

I wanted yo write it all out then make just post the chapters one after another so u guys wouldn't be waiting months on next update (like my Players Possessions fic rn 😔)

But, ive barely had any time to myself, and I usually have been filling it with my class or living my life, or other hobbies, so on top of busy life I've been unmotivated bc I've had to force myself to make time and write it out

(I'm deadass fighting for my life against my fic writing style, which i guess is pretty long winded, so the word count is like,, tied me to a car and is dragging me tf out lol)

So im still working on that fic, so that way I can post all at once,

Shooting Stars - SAGAU!Lyney x Player Part 2

Summary: Shooting Stars were always a weird occurrence in the world of Teyvat, so when they suddenly stop, certain magician can't help but wonder if it has to do with the strange aching in his chest.

A/N: Heyy, I'm so sorry for the long wait! My hyperfixation on Genshin just died when I got Lyney and I didn't have the motivation to continue this, but I finally got myself to write this. Also, I'm really sorry if this is bad, I got sick last week and I'm getting out of it rn.

The day is finally here, after five months of arduous saving and skipping characters (it was hard), Lyney's first rerun finally sees the light of day. The Player, who’s been waiting patiently for the maintenance to end, opens the game as fast as they could, feeling their heart beat in their throat.

Three hundred and twenty seven wishes. All for that magician they love so much. Oh, how much they regret being inactive from the game when his banner came out. They can only wish that they get him now… and his weapon if they’re lucky enough.

It’s kind of funny how they had to contain themselves from pulling for anyone else (except for Furina, they only pulled because she looked pretty at the moment), it didn't matter if all the new characters powercrept Lyney or if they were better in terms of DPS, for the Player, he was everything they needed, everything they wanted. They just wanted that cat-themed magician in their party and their account.

Seeing the Geo logo finally load, they rush to finish their dailies and change their team to the duo, Freminet and Lynette, and rush towards the Opera Epiclese. It felt like a dream, but the way they felt the keyboard under their fingers told them otherwise. This is pretty much real.

After reaching the designated “wishing spot”, they opened the wishing menu, seeing his splash art alongside the chosen four stars, happy that they can at least get constellations for them. The Player took a deep breath and pressed the “10 pull” button.

Lyney was looking at the ceiling in his room, the ache in his chest suddenly feeling harder… painfully so. He sat down in his bed, feeling how the sheets moved due to his weight. The magician sighed, running his hand through his ashy blonde hair while his head was strangely silent, no thoughts, nothing. 

After a failed investigation into the phenomenon of strange falling stars, Lyney was beyond desperate, no one seemed familiar with the ache the magician felt in his chest, even some people looked at him weird, like he was crazy.

Why is it only with him?

Lyney's gaze returned to the ceiling, the zero hope he felt about a possible explanation seemed to fade with each passing second. Was it only his imagination? Was he going insane? It's been five months since those shooting stars last fell, maybe it's time to-

*WAM*

Lyney stood up immediately at the sudden sound that came from outside, quickly dressing up (somehow) and grabbing his bow, he walked outside to see what’s going on and-

The shooting stars were back. The colors returned to the sky and made it pretty again, a purple star falling directly in the Opera Epiclese as he looked in awe. The pain in his chest was getting even more heavy, but he ignored it, lost in the colors of those shooting stars.

Thinking it was over when the purple star fell, another wave came right after, and then another, and another. And another. It became a full shooting star shower, that never happened before

It’s been at least eight or more purple stars when a golden one falls. Its shine lit up all of Fontaine, as the people exited their houses to see the show happening in the blanket of the night. Lyney looked at the golden star with anticipation, while it became bigger and bigger as it fell closer.

Only for it to continue falling towards… Sumeru?

The Player stares at their screen in disbelief.

Reached 79 pity only to lose it to Dehya… They sigh in frustration while closing the results of the pull, they still have a lot of wishes left, and now with a guarantee, it will be a lot easier… right?

They sigh again as their friend laughs at their misery on the discord call, deciding to continue the wishing session.

“He will come home, whether he likes it or not…” they mutter to themselves, already feeling pissed off.

Lyney thought the shooting stars were over until even more fell from the sky, this time more… fast, than before. Like they were in a rush.

He looked at the purple ones as some fall in the Opera Epiclese and the others go all the way to what appears to be Liyue.

He was starting to get anxious as he then became aware of the pain in his chest again. He felt a pull, like someone was calling for something, calling for him.

And suddenly, another golden star fell from the sky. And instead of going to Sumeru, it was falling dangerously close to him.

Wait, was it falling towards him?!

His body stayed frozen in place as the star fell on him. A golden aura engulfed his entire body and his feet felt light, and… a strange voice appeared on his head.

“Fucking finally, dude. You took your sweet ass time.”

That… was new.

He opened his eyes when the light disappeared, and he found Lynette and Freminet looking at him with a smile. Lyney then realized he was in the Opera Epiclese.

“Wha- how did I-” Lyney muttered, confused at the sudden change in scenery.

“Welcome home, brother. We’ve been waiting for you.” Lynette said with a small smile, the purple aura around her not going unnoticed for Lyney.

“Home? What are you talking about? What is going on?” To say the magician was confused was an understatement. He was beyond lost.

“Uhm, it’s hard to explain but… you’ll understand sooner or later.” Freminet said with a nervous smile and he had Pers in his hands, the little penguin making sounds of joy.

Lyney didn’t know how to react to the confusing sentences his siblings were saying. Or why the world looked so different, so 3D… so- fake. Has the world always looked like that? And what are those numbers in his siblings' heads? Level 40 and Level 80? What in the world does that mean?

“He looks so confused… Do you think he’ll be okay?” Freminet whispered towards Lynette, who was pretty worried for her brother.

“I don’t know… he doesn’t seem to be taking it well.” she says back, and she hears the sounds from the player in her head.

They must be pulling for Lyney’s weapon, it seems, and it also seems that they’re not doing so well. Lynette sighed when she noticed Lyney’s bewildered expression at the loud voice, before putting a hand on Lyney's shoulder.

“Listen, things might look a little confusing right now, but everything will be okay. The Player is someone really caring and nice, and they really like you.” Lynette says with a calm tone, but also a lot of reassurance. “Why did you think there were no shooting stars in five months? Because they wanted you.”

Lyney looked at her in shock, still processing everything. This.. “Player”, as Lynette called them, was the one behind the shooting stars apparently, and they… wanted him? Really-

“I hate this game, I’m never saving up for another character ever again. Fuck you, Lyney.”

“They’re always like this, don’t pay them any mind.” Lynette says with a small frown before sighing again. “It seems their wishing session is over, you should feel some changes in a bit.”

“What changes-”

Before Lyney could process anything, the world around him changed again, the walls (or what he assumed were walls) around him became red, with some fire coming out of the floor, where did Lynette and Freminet go?!

Before he could feel even more confused, he saw them… a person was looking at him and pressing some buttons on what appears to be a… keyboard of sorts.

“If it didn’t take me more than 200 wishes to get you, I’d be happier.” they say with a serious expression but a tired smile slowly creeps in, and he feels himself getting stronger… somehow.

What is this person? And why does he feel so strange when he looks at them?

Even with their tired expression and dark room, he could see affection in their eyes. Affection for him. He remembers Lynette’s words about this “Player” liking him and wanting him for a long time. Was this person the so-called “Player” Lynette was talking about?

If so, then he might consider himself lucky to be favored by this really pretty Player.

“Yeah, I have everything ready to just Level him up and his weapon straight to 90, it did take me a while to get all of the Rainbow Roses though…” they say practically to no one in Lyney’s point of view. Were they not alone in that dark room? Or were they talking to someone via real magic?

Wait, Rainbow Roses? For him?!

Were they collecting Rainbow Roses for him?

The more he thought about it, the more flustered he felt. This person was collecting Rainbow Roses and… materials (he doesn’t know what that means) for him. For this moment alone.

“Hey, is it normal for Lyney to have this idle animation?” they asked when Lyney suddenly grabbed his hat to cover his face a little. He could hear them laugh a little. “That’s so cute, though! Look at him!”

“I still have a few wishes left, might as well get Lynette C6 since I’m at it.” Lyney hears them while fighting some Hilichurls alongside other people, Kaedehara Kazuha, a wanderer from Inazuma, Bennett, an adventurer from Mondstadt and, surprisingly, Miss Furina. What a strange bunch, Lyney thought.

While the Player made their sudden wishing session, Lyney sat down on a nearby rock. It’s been 30 minutes since he’s been pulled into this weird situation and he’s still processing everything. Heck, it feels even weirder to be in the same “party” as the former Hydro Archon. Was this even allowed? He's not sure himself, but he’ll just go along with everything this strange person does for the time being, Freminet and Lynette seem to trust them, so he might as well give it a shot-

“What the fuck?!” Lyney was startled when the Player suddenly screamed, he looked up and saw a sudden golden star fall on him.

He felt a burning pain in his right arm, he pulled up his sleeve to see a strange pattern in his skin. C1? What does that mean?

He remembers hearing the Player say something about “Lynette’s C6”, but he has no idea what any of that even means.

“Constellation.” He hears Kazuha say by his side, a calm expression on his face. “It means Constellation. When the Player gets lucky and the stars fall on one of us again, our “Constellation” increases. C6 being the highest.” Kazuha explains, although it’s just what he heard. “For example, me and Miss Furina are C0 since the shooting star only fell on us once. Bennett over there is C4 since the shooting star fell on him 5 times.”

“I see…” Lyney says with a smile. “Well thank you-”

“No fucking way!” he gets startled again by the scream. And before he could react, another golden star falls on him, and the pattern changes to C2.

Kazuha looks at him with a smile. “Wow, signature weapon, C2… you really are the Player’s favorite!”

Lyney just laughs, his cheeks a bit red. “Oh come on, they don’t love me that much-”

“I love you so much, Lyney! I’m so sorry I said otherwise!” Lyney gets even more flustered at that, making Kazuha laugh even more.

This was certainly a weird experience, but… it felt good.

AITA for not paying for my fiancee's trip?

(Sorry mod, sending this again as I forgot to add an important context detail)

This is going to be long, I'm so sorry!

Okay, so I (23M) am engaged to a very wonderful fiancee (27NB). She's fantastic, and I want to make it very clear that our relationship is great - we have good communication, we never argue, we're always on call without getting tired of each other, etc etc. There is just one issue we have - her financial habits.

For context, I am disabled and can't work due to both mental and physical health issues, so I'm on disability benefits. She can and does work.

We're long-distance (she's in America and I'm in the UK), and we've been dealing with it pretty well so far. At the beginning of our relationship, we agreed that before we got to the point of talking about moving in with each other etc. we would need to have her visit me here at least once to meet my family and get used to how things work here (as she wants to move here), and I would need to visit her at least once to do the same there re: meeting her parents etcetera.

The agreement was that I'd pay for her to come here, and then when it was my turn she'd pay for my visit there so it was fair.

She first visited me about a year and a half ago and came over here for two weeks. I paid for her plane tickets, our transport everywhere (we don't have cars), the AirBNB we stayed in, etc. This ran me about £2k, which was all I had at the time, and I didn't have enough left over to pay for her food on top of that, so I asked if she could cover her own food costs while she was here. This caused a bit of an issue at the time as she was very clearly frustrated at having to do it, and would make comments like "Ugh I wanted a new computer but now I have to save for this trip", "I'm having to sacrifice so much to pay for this" and it made me feel incredibly invalidated, like I was covering everything else and also sacrificing a lot to pay for everything else for us but the one thing I'd asked her to help with was too much. We had a conversation about it at the time and she apologised and said she'd work on it, so we moved on.

Plans changed a bit very early this year, as I was due to get surgery and the friend who was supposed to accompany me there dropped out last minute. I had no one else nearby to turn to and I couldn't go alone (it was the kind of surgery where I would need someone around for at least 1-2 weeks afterwards to help me move around and do daily tasks). As a last ditch effort I asked my fiancee to fly over again and help me out, and I paid for this again which I was completely fine with doing as the trip was a favour for me and it was unplanned from her end. This was another ~£2k.

So cut to summer this year. This was when I was supposed to have my visit over to America. She, at this point, was making pretty good money at a school job. However, when I asked her if we could finalise the plans and buy tickets, she told me that she had no money.

This is where I explain that she's really, REALLY bad with money. She impulse-buys clothes and things for her room etc., she plays gacha games like Genshin Impact and spends quite a lot of money on 'pulls' and the gambling mechanic, things like that. It turned out that through the whole time of having this job she'd been basically spending money as soon as she got it and she now had nothing for the trip. I was admittedly frustrated with her (especially as she initially lied to me and told me she hadn't spent money on games etc. and then later confessed that it IS where the money had gone), but we agreed we could push back the trip to winter/Christmas-time to give her more time to save, and honestly I didn't really mind because I've never spent Christmas/New Year with anyone before, so shifting the visit to over those days would be a nice experience.

However, soon after this she was fired from her job for too many call-outs/absences. For the next few months, she didn't get another job - she said she was doing all she could and was applying for, but I often got the impression that she wasn't and was sort of throwing out an application every few weeks and then writing it off as 'done', which I could be completely misinterpreting so take that with a grain of salt. I kept pushing her to get a job so we could get the trip sorted out and I know she got kind of frustrated with me a few times for it.

I ended up giving up the closer we got to the time and offered to just cover it again if she could pay me back when she did get a job, and she agreed.

Unfortunately, after this I was rendered homeless due to my abusive home situation. I was fortunate enough to be offered government housing and I now have an apartment in town, but it's completely unfurnished (literally all that's in it is a single bed and a cooker, there's no flooring or anything yet). I now have to put all the money I have saved (about £3k) towards getting flooring (which is a little over £1k by itself), furnishings, getting the walls painted, sorting out gas and electricity, etc. I'm also now paying the bills for this apartment. As a result, there's no possible way I could afford to cover the trip anymore myself.

It looked like things were getting sorted because my fiancee got another job recently. It's pretty well-paying, she seems to enjoy it so she's not calling out, and she kept prompting me to talk details of the trip with her so it felt like it was all getting figured out and she was ready to finalise it.

Then today I asked her how much money she had ready for it and she said... $15. I'm genuinely lost on how she still hasn't saved any money, she claims she used it all on "bills" but she doesn't pay rent or cover any housing costs as she still lives with her parents, so I don't understand at all where it's all going. We have less than a month before the trip is supposed to happen, nothing is sorted, we still have no clue where we'd be staying, no plane tickets have been purchased, and now it's looking a lot like it's going to have to be pushed back AGAIN to next year.

I thought about trying to pay for it again, because I DO really want that Christmas and New Year with her. Delaying it again would also mess up our future plans, as the plan was to get this trip to America and meeting her family done this year, then spending the first half of next year on the Visa process and then the latter half getting her actually moved over. It also means I would have to delay my college education, as I was going to start my course early next year, which I wouldn't be able to do if the trip is next year instead as it would require me to take weeks off.

If I tried, I probably could cover it - I need to spend the ~£1k on flooring as that's already arranged, but I could technically use the remaining £2k to fund the trip. However, this would mean my house would remain unfurnished and barely habitable for months longer. It's not so bad if I know she'd be able to pay me back quickly, but the reality is that I don't know how long it would take for me to see the money back.

Part of me also feels like she's kind of expecting me to give in and pay for it last minute in order to not delay it, because I offered before and I was willing to pay for the last two trips. But it's just so depressing and frustrating, because it feels like I keep giving things up and putting things into these trips and getting her over here, and trying to get it back from her is just like running into a wall.

We've talked about it before, but she insists there's nothing more she can do, she's trying as hard as she can, and that she's upset about it too. I just don't know what to do about it anymore.

So I guess my question is, AITA for complaining about the trip, missing Christmas/New Year and pushing her on money and nagging her about what she does with hers instead of just taking the L and covering the trip again until she can pay me back?
