LMAO ANYWAY, I feel like he might have been either a jonin who focuses on missions or maaaybe ANBU. I’m not sure if he… has the patience for teaching?? I feel like training or teaching his own kids is a different story, though. Mans loves his kids from the bottom of his heart and does everything in his power to help them.

In my opinion though, he’d probably be more so a jonin assigned to missions rather than a teacher. Just with how strong his byakugan is and how good of a fighter he is. He MIGHT also join the ANBU, but that would probably be if he never had his own kids/got married or whatever. Mainly since the ANBU work so much in the shadows, if anything ever happened to him, he wouldn’t want his family wondering and such.

I’ve also seen some people headcanon that he’d sit in Naruto’s advisor council like Shikamaru (I assume I’ll be honest I haven’t seen a lot of Boruto). Which kinda makes sense to me?? Smart guy, another link to one of the prestigious clans in the village.

Ok so BASICALLY, Neji’s role in the village is mainly going on missions, maybe some patrol duty around the village, etc. He does attend like… village council meetings (??) with Chihiro when she becomes clan head.

He likely wouldn’t become ANBU if he was offered the position, mainly for the reasons I stated above about him wanting to also be there for his family. Probably also would help the Osaka clan in whatever matters they have going on, with him marrying into the clan and all. Would also likely act as a liaison between them and the hyuga clan too, as what I kinda imagine hinata doing with Naruto (again i havent seen much Boruto so idk if she does do anything like that but yea lol). Listen he’s tough and aloof but when it comes to his wife and kids he’s a big softie.

SO. im sorry ahead of time that this will get longwinded and probably not gonna make a lot of sense but i have A LOT of thoughts regarding this whole situation

so this has been a very common thing to discuss in my dms ever since the shades of the best friends betrayal started when trent and oc entered into the tag team tournament (also shoutout to bugs for dealing with my shit constantly cause i know i can be unhinged ough), and what we dubbed as savior!kip has become a very intense hope in this storyline so... yeah ive been thinking about this possibility a lot ngl

im gonna put the rest of this under the cut cause lmao yeah. im gonna go off the rails

i wanna start this by saying that while i do want chuck to come back, im specifically hoping that he'll come back to team with trent again and to torment oc, that all of this has been one big ruse to see if oc really is their best friend or not (spoilers: hes not. trent is right about everything he said dont @ me). and oc is slowly starting to lack friends; seeing how things are going, things with kris arent that great. shibata and hook have their hands full with so many other things. rocky is obviously siding with trent, even if he doesnt say it directly out loud but roppongi vice forever basically, and the rest of chaos is mostly in japan (and okada is evil now so...). danhausen basically doesnt exist anymore. everyone oc has had around him has slowly disappeared, for one reason or another

so where does that leave us, exactly? you turn to the other side (or more in this case, the other side turns towards you to help out)

kip has been critical on twitter about the don callis family, and basically saying he would never join them due to disrespect from don. and we all know how much kip loves and cares about oc (i dont have to proof this to you you have seen all the sweet tweets and other stuff. this man used to use the kissy face emoji frequently while tweeting at or about oc come on now), so seeing these two words colliding would probably not sit very well with him, i'd imagine. while someone could argue that kip has lost interest in oc since he has dropped the title and thats all that was ever about...

first of all, the "sweet little clementine" nickname has been used multiple times throughout the timeline. this wasnt just a mind game trick to get into ocs head during the title feud, it was in there way way before that ever happened (i believe we are talking about full gear 2020 if i recall my timelines right [its around 3 hours and 9 minutes]); he has always been affectionate about oc in a really weird way (hes british tho so thats probably why). second, how many times has kip been after anyone else between ocs title reigns and after? exactly zero. when mox and fenix were champs, he didnt say a peep (he did, whoever, put out my favorite tweet of all time when oc lost the title to mox). after oc gained the title, he started tweeting again about it. and again when oc lost it, not a word. kip hasnt said anything about the international title or rodney since then; the only time he did post, he told rodney to fuck off cause clementine was his. and since then? kip has been keeping an eye on the best friends feud so... do whatever you wish with that information (1, 2, 3)

the point is, the obsession was NOT with the title; hes just always been affectionate about and towards oc, but in a really weird and obsessive, kind of a destructive way

why is this necessary to bring up? well...

do you really think he would stand idly to the side to watch oc align himself with someone like don callis when all his other friends have abandoned him, all these things considered?

do i need to remind you of something? cause i will remind you of my favorite post

throughout this entire time, kip never gave up (im aware this is technically non-canon as this is a quote from stream but. if you know their history over on twitch, it counts. the feud bled over there during its prime too). yes this technically had everything to do with him tearing ocs friends away from him when this was posted, but.. dont you think its fitting tho? considering the situation oc is in now? and while yes it might seem that kip is taking the side of trent in this whole thing, this was specifically before don callis inserted himself into the situation by whispering whatever the hell into ocs ear

and what better time and way for kip to insert himself back into ocs life as the one person he can still rely on than right here and right now, when oc is so desperate for a connection and friendship that he'll take don callis of all people?

if we want to dig more into my personal observations, kip has never felt as respected or perceived as he did/does when hes across the ring from oc. this feud was the highlight of his career since the comeback (and arguably, his [and miros] feud with the best friends ending with arcade anarchy was the other, so these two have always been connected more or less), its the one thing people keep talking about in reference to him apart from the box; how he should have been the one taking the title from him, how kip should have been elevated from that point forward too. how people talk about him almost only when he has faced oc in the ring afterwards (which has been at least three times if i recall right from the top of my head) or had a chance to challenge again for that title before oc lost it entirely

so what is the conclusion i wanna draw from this? kip keeps bringing him up. he keeps on leeching on him. he wants that attention off of oc, but also from oc. and what better way to do that than to now befriend him, show him support, be there for him when everyone else has abandoned him?

except its not entirely malicious. it might start as such, but its definitely mutually beneficial, more so than intended; sure maybe kip takes the chance to get to oc when hes down and vulnerable, but theres also that high chance that he'll see he can actually help. kip can help pull oc back up and help rebuild him. kip can be useful and important in this equation too, not just oc (which.. its gonna show kips true colors tbh. considering how kip treats oc as a whole, but he was taking trents side earlier about everything when best friends broke apart so...)

i think this is enough of me rambling, so im gonna get to the point of the ask lmao; but yeah, while i'd love for chuck to come back, i dont think he needs to be the one to uncorrupt oc from under kips spell. cause there wont be a spell to begin with. while yes it might start more or less as a corrupting relationship if they got to tag together with oc, i dont think ultimately it would be harmful to him. just like kip would be there to be supportive of oc, eventually he would return the favor by helping kip flourish, like he has done more indirectly in the past. they are mutually beneficial to one another, for better or worse maybe, but its not going to lead oc down a dark path in my opinion. if anything, oc is uncorruptable at this point (especially without the belt but i feel like that story has completely died by now with roddy holding the title so im not going to touch that rn), and him getting love and support from someone genuine, although surprising in this case, it would just make him more likely to return that favor than to turn against it. what i mean is, oc would be the one to uncorrupt kip, if anything

FYI older art uploads in ze future

Idk how much far I go back with my uploads but like I prolly go for a bit maybe even early 2000s so lots of art uploads from way back lie ahead xd I still love most of them dearly and I think it's important to keep old art around in galleries or somewhere people can still get to it because those are where I come from, those are where my style developed from bit by bit those are where many of my OCs came from too and idk I wanna share that with people. I want you to see from where I started roughly (roughly because the really old stuff is harder for me to find I started uploading stuff to the internet when i was like.. uh 14/15, I would need to find, re-scann and also erase my deadname from a lot of stuff, bc back then I did not have a nifty signature that nobody can possible read) when I began uploading my stuff to the internet and how things just slowly but surley geared mostly towards ladies and hair and wings and details and my love for thicc lineart. Funny side note on the line art though? My very first OC artworks were made with a fountain pen from school with black ink in it and a broad tip, so my lines were naturally broad due to the nature of my pen. (which I also used for writing, in school, bc I was still in school back then and it feels like forever ago while I am writing this fuck XD) Sometime soon though I found thin liners that did not smudge with copics like my ink did so I entered the dubious zone of touch does thin lines forever, then goes back to his roots and makes it thicc. Anyway... what I'm trying to say is, I think it's nice to see an artists journey, and I love it to pieces when I can catch glimpses of peoples old art and see were they came from/started out from. So yeah imma slowly go through my stuff and bring old stuff back online. I used to have a gallery (on DA) that went all the way back almost to the beginnings but I changed accounts in 2011/12 to my new artist handle (back then in ye olden days name changes were not yet a thing on DA) and while the younger account still exists I have everything thrown into storage because fuck DA. I keep my "archive" there until they get funny ideas like deleting accounts of inactive users or whatever. But it's no longer public and like I said only goes back to 2011/12 anyway so yah. Like i said i do not know how much of the really old stuff is gonna come back online but I'd like to bring some of it back. Guess Imma go tag my art posts with the years they were made in too for filtering purposes xd But just fyi I also have a FurAffinity account were I am basically also try to do something similar and have a whole folder structure dedicated to years of creation for the very same purpose. Just in case that's more convenient for some of you but I am in no way caught up with uploads there either. Ok so this ask is old and when I first got it I was like “dang I don’t really have a lot to talk about, what should I talk about I could those revalink headcanons the Kip Cut that turned into a working fic uhh hmm maybe I’ll just make something new to talk about real quick” and then I did and now there is a 12+ chapter Revalink fic in my drafts and I’m gonna talk about that now, whoopsie doopsie [click "j" to skip]

aHEM, OK so allow me to break out the primary school white board because yeah, I have a lot of thoughts and the oxford comma has not yet made it’s home into my brain. oh and spoilers for paraphrase. for both all of Chapter one and future events in later chapters, but it’s really nothing you couldn’t surmise from the AO3 tags

so I really wanted to tell the story of Revali and Link learning and struggling to love again after the less-than-fortunate events of Botw, but I wanted a...how you say...fresher, approach on the subject? Like I know we always say that fanfic writers writing the same tropes and stories time and time again is good because we eat that shit up--but at the same time I had asian parenting as was told never to half ass anything ever, no matter what. So now I'm gay and extra and have depression maybe and oh would you look at that @motherhyrule has dropped a beautiful revalink prompt right into my lap

Great so now that we have, that, I shall take you on the step by step process on how to make a :sparkles: story. So step one is to spend at least five to eleven business days for your white board to dismantle your genre and themes and work them around your character arcs. Luckily I have prepared one ahead of time

s*breaks out those laser pointers that uni professors use* So let's start with defining genre. As define because I HATE you, fuck you. I want you to suffer and writhe on the ground, motherfucker. How dare you think that I would give you nothing but pure predictable fluff, fuck you and yours

is the set of expectations that your audience has when consuming a piece of media

And the great thing about fanfiction is that unlike movies or book where the genres are more vague like, "oh it's a noir mystery genre. so there's a crime, maybe a murder, and a detective and a criminal." or "oh it's a teen romance. so there's some white people and a morally questionable six-pack 18 year old love interest that will be painted as desirable for some reason" BUT with fanfiction HALF of the work out the window, because as soon as you see those #revalink #aro sidon #zelpha #revali is an idiot and #found family tags you already know what's up.

Now what's so great about genre and expectation? Well the fun thing about it is that

In Chapter 1: Holes, you already expect there to be revalink, you already expect them to be soulmates with the soulmarks and there's angst and yadayada ya. Revali and Link have to match because thatttss what this is all about, this is about them! This is about cute, little soulmarks and romantic words!

But whoooopsie doopsie [disney channel laugh track plays] they DON'T match anymore! Link's got a different mark! The number one rule of this entire genre has been broken whoooooooooooooooops. *ba dum tiss*

You might notice with a lot of my writing that I do this a lot, this whole..."oop but there's one little thing that's different." TebaSaki sick fic? Ok cool, but what if Teba burns an irreplaceable relic of the Rito champion to fight a wizzrobe first to characterize why his dumbass clicks with Saki. Mipha deciding to persue Link? Ok what if she chases after a dragon to externalize this conflict as she pierces it's flesh for a scale. Link fighting a Lynel? Ok but what if it's actually a sidlink angst fic in disguise and it's also world building on how Link deals with the bloodmoon that erases all of his efforts which is sort of similar to how his existence was erased from Hyrule 100 years ago mwaahahaha! Ok now that I say this outloud I think I just have a pattern of using fight scenes to externalize character growth. I like fight scenes...anyways.

I think another great thing about the realm of fanfiction is that with the tagging system, I can basically use a chekhov's gun sort of deal, without doing any writing. You know I'm gonna use that gun marked "soulmates" but you don't know when I'm gonna shoot it, and you SURE as hell don't know how.

And huzzah! One of the main points of conflict both drives the tension between Revali and Link, solidifies the unique genre and setting of this world, while also creating a new mystery that will carry over for the next few chapters.

Is Revali right in that Link's rebirth makes him destined for someone new now? What will Link do with the information that his soulmark has changed? Why did it change? Did Revali's change as well? How does anything fucking work right now?

And sure, you might be able to tell where things will end with them, but you sure as fuck will not know how because I HATE you. Fuck you. I want you to suffer and writhe on the ground, motherfucker. How dare you think that I would give you nothing but pure predictable fluff. I am not your goddamn fairy godmother, I will do as I fucking please. You will suffer as you fucking deserve, fuck you and your little tiny--

Oh! But you might have noticed on my little planning whiteboard thing that there was a little T-Chart! For Revali and Link! That's because the next important thing besides plot (and in a lot of cases, including this one, it's argued to be even MORE important than plot) is

So yes, it's a little T-Chart outlining their character views in relation to the themes. And the great thing about themes is that they're not something you can necessarily predict in the same way you can with the genre and plot.

But now see, I'm very lazy so I'm just gonna plagiarize @hyrule-kingdom-updates thingy [that you should read btw] because they said my point quite clear enough

Now I don't really need to care about those points about bond and relationships and being understood, because I'm dealing with already established canon characters. I'm not some NERD who dabbles with entire casts of ocs who even cares about ocs not me that's for sure ahaahahaahahahahahaahahahahahAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH *cries in my orphaned WTTU fic* AHAHAHA*sobs*DONT FUCKING LOOK AT ME THAT WAY I SWEAR--

But the points I do wanna focus on is the idea that characters provide new perspectives on the theme, and that characters growth can be tracked based on their wants, lies, and needs.

So see, themes can be predicted the same as genre/plot because while you can have the same fanfic plots and tropes, theme will always vary!

Sometimes it's a journey of selfworth with Revali! Sometimes it's an exploration of trauma with Link. Sometimes it's about how you deal with the vulnerabilities of love with Mipha. Sometimes there's straight up NOOOO theme, and people just be fucking, and kissing, and baking, and having a good time. And that is totally fine too!

But I'm not a fucking coward.

I'm gonna weave in themes with my plot, because I fucking can.

They both start off the same way: 100 years ago they were in love and happy. Basically the equivalent of childish naivety. For the first time in their lives, life is whimsical and charming, and they make each other happy. In fact, it's almost a flaw with how they perceive this happiness. But don't worry! It doesn't last long!

You know what happens.

I think the chart is pretty self explanatory. Revali builds walls fast enough to give a republican a wet dream. Meanwhile Link makes every aromantic in the chat groan with his doubled down sentiments in the idea that his chances of being truly happy again are gone.

Now, I can't exactly describe the full on process of the inbetweens, and where Revali and Link are gonna go from here, because...you have to read it for yourself! Heehee...but something I did think was fun was how these character views on the themes are revealed. Because you'll notice that, I never give exposition. Ever.

Ok well, let me rephrase that. I never give exposition scenes. I will never give you a big LOTR fancy wizard scene explaining the ins and outs of a character's question or the world's magic or whatever. I'm a very impatient Kip, and I value efficiency. Nonono, it's all about multi tasking, baby!

Chapter 1: Holes is divided into three parts.

100 Years Ago - Flight Range (Establishes old Revalink views)

I think the way that you structure flashbacks is incredible vital, as it's a very quick way to characterize people without having them say stuff like "I used to be like you, until I took an arrow to the knee" or whatever.

And with the main structure of the chapters and the fic as a whole is focus on their characters, that means I can hide whatever other stuff I want in those scenes, becuase you're too busy absorbing the fun character stuff to realizing I'm giving you boring exposition. Like for example:

Post 100 Years - Medoh and Mark

Foreshadowing for the end of the fic

Set up connection to Medoh with Revali

Link has defeated Windblight

Link has been visiting Revali every night for the past few days

Link has already met Kass and presumably Teba

Link doesn't have the Mastersword

Revali's Gale is still an ability that needs master and practice on Link's end

And that's just some of the stuff.

And see, the only reason I can efficiently give all of this information regarding character, and even exposition, is because of the theme. The themes make everything relevant, and everything circles and encompasses one another, so there's absolutely no wasted space. I mean don't even get me started on how it's gonna be to characterize the other characters around this

I don't wanna talk about the other characters too much either because that's spoilers, but you can probably take a gandar based on my notes.

And oh my god this is just on the theme of the faults that come with "soulmates" and "true love" and all that, and how even magical destined relationships still require work and effort, and that no one thing or person solves all your problems. And that's not even TOUCHING the shit on trauma and scars. I didn't think it was even possible for me to talk about botw without touching on that, ha. Ah well, I've been talking for too long.

Another one of these! This time, I was tagged TWICE by the wonderful @sassypandacandy (go read her books,, i love them). I’ve gotta answer the questions, come up with my OWN questions, and then tag 11 people to answer, only I’m not going to tag eleven people because I still don’t think I quite KNOW eleven people yet. Also, because I got tagged twice with two different sets of questions, I’m going to answer both sets in one post, and then just come up with eleven questions of my own, because it takes me yonks to come up with questions and I’m lazy. Eso si que es, y’know?

What’s the first thing you remember writing?

A four-page story about a Diplodocus when I was… definitely before I was ten years old. Maybe like five or six. I was very proud of it.

What’s the last thing you wrote purely for yourself?

Actually, I pretty much always write for myself, so the last thing that I wrote/started to write… ooh-er. That’d be the Warrior Cats fanfiction I’ve been working on. :P

Are you a WIP playlist person or a WIP aesthetics person?

Playlist, probably. I tend not to make playlists specifically for WIPs – instead, I’ll assign songs and soundtracks to specific characters and scenes – but I’m still better at throwing together playlists then making aesthetics LMAO

What’s a book you wish you’d written?

Uuuuh… maybe it’s just because I’m young (barely an adult), but I don’t have anything where it’s like “ah I wish I’d used that idea” or “wish I’d written this book”. I still have a lot of writing ahead of me, hopefully, so all my ideas I hope to actually get out some day. (Assuming that’s,,, what the question is asking me)

What’s your favourite book adaptation?

Ironic because it doesn’t follow the books that closely, but I love the How To Train Your Dragon films very much.

Which of your characters would you like to have a conversation with? What would you like to talk about?

The downside to Pandemonium’s Bane being filled with eccentric personalities and cooky characters means that there’s actually few of them I’d LIKE to have a conversation with, because most would be too dickish or too annoying for my tastes xDD That being said, I think me and Plue are on very similar wavelengths, and we have a lot in common (such as both of us wanting to write), so I wouldn’t mind chatting with her for a bit if I had to.

Which of your WIP worlds would you most like to live in?

The Power of Ages stories are mostly set in one universe (the Nimbus System) so I guess I’d have to go with that one by default. There’s Neil’s dimension, I guess, but it’s destroyed, so…

Have you ever written anything inspired purely by a song? If so, what song was it?

I haven’t written anything inspired just by a single song, but I HAVE got certain scenes or character backstories based off of songs, or even the concepts they’re based around. I have a whole battle between brothers planned out to the soundtrack that plays when Shifu fights Tai Lung in Kung Fu Panda, and listening to the Iron Man soundtracks helped me with both the conception of a new character and her placement in my roster (and yes, she does invent things and fly around, although there are also some major differences)

Have you ever written poetry? Do you still? Why or why not?

I… haven’t written poetry. And the reason for that is… I mean, I guess it doesn’t really jibe with me? Granted I haven’t considered it heavily, but it was always my least favourite aspect of learning English at school, and I just never fell in love with it the same way I fell in love with writing conventional narratives.

Who would direct an adaptation of your writing?

I ain’t big on directors, so IDEK. I guess in terms of the rewrite of Maelstrom (my current main WIP) I’d pick Sam Raimi, who proved with his Spider-Man films that he can blend fun superhero narratives with slightly darker elements pretty well.

How do you motivate yourself when you don’t feel like writing?

Mainly by having multiple projects to work on! That way, if I ain’t feeling what I’m working on, I can switch over to another one, and bingo bango, I can keep writing. (Hypothetically. Sometimes it ain’t that simple, obviously.) I also use music, and I also take advantage of being in situations where it’s like, I’d rather write then do the alternative. Do you know how much writing I got done in lessons? So much. :P

What scenes are the worst to write?

The ones that I haven’t planned out – sometimes I have very specific ideas for how I want scenes to happen, and I’m excited to get to them, but other times they’re just obligatory because there’s certain information I have to convey. That makes it a challenge to write it in a compelling way, because why should the reader care if I don’t?

What can you say is a thing you love most about your writing?

I’d say I like the dialogue/character interplay/narrative description-y sort of stuff. I think I’m good at giving everything levity, and keeping it breezy and entertaining even if I myself find the writing process to be a bit of a slog. Plus, it’s funny to read back over, and it’s also funny to watch my discord quote a line and then keysmash at it. :P

What is writing advice that you take to heart?

It’s from Aaron Sorkin’s writing masterclass – the idea that a story is defined by the main character’s INTENTION, the OBSTACLE facing them, and the TACTICS they use to overcome it.

How do you keep yourself from quitting writing together?

Honestly, it’s not like I have to try that hard! By this point I’m desperate to tell these stories that I have in mind, so I have a sort of innate compulsion to write because I wanna get it all out there. I’ll get back to you if that compulsion runs out, but for now, I see myself writing long into the future.

What is the strangest thing you’ve searched up on the internet for writing purposes?

Probably the capabilities of medieval-era people to recognise nuclear technology. (And for the record, the answer is “pretty low”.)

Your OCs are trapped on a deserted island, what would they be doing?

I WANNA say they’d try and work as a team, but, uh. It may not go so well. Dante and Plue would probably be the most practical. Gaia would be good at grunt work but not focus on the task at hand, Rose would be functionally useless but good at moral support, Jacen would try to organise things but Gaia would just push him in the sea for jokes… I reckon they’d escape eventually, I suppose, but it wouldn’t exactly be a clean-cut affair, you know? xD

What is your biggest inspiration for your WIPs?

I actually have various inspirations – I think collectively my biggest inspiration is the MCU, in that it’s a bunch of interconnected stories set in the same universe about different characters and also there are superpowers. xDD

~BASICS~

First and foremost, if you happen any of the soon to be listed rules. Don’t sweat it! Well, don’t treat it lightly either. I don’t insta block anyone that breaks one of my rules, usually I just go into IMs and ask the rule breaker if they could stop doing that so we can both have fun. As of right now I wanna try and write in a semi-game like kind of way. Hopefully I’ll be good at it.

I don’t have the best of grammar when it comes to certain things. Often times I can use certain phrases wrong or even use the wrong way of spelling certain words. My hope though is that whenever I do it I get my point across and maybe even keep the way you pronounce the word the same.

I hold the right to not RP with certain people and have the right to drop threads. If I do have to drop a thread I promise to tell you before I do.

The length of my threads varies depending on what’s up. Usually they’re rather medium sized. Like, two paragraphs. But sometimes I call pull of three, usually those take time to do though.

Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would last year, less, or about what you’d expected?  Honestly I thought my writing was on the decline, I hadn’t had any inspiration for a long while, I didn’t really want to work on any of the WIPs I had, and I was facing a lot of stress at school during the beginning of the year, causing some seriously bad mental health. BUT! Thanks to my good friends in the Jekyll and Hyde Discord, I started getting inspiration and ideas to write about again! Also the decision to finally create an AO3 account to move over to really helped. So I actually ended up writing more than I expected to, considering that at the beginning of the year I was thinking that I’d have to give up writing altogether. 

What’s your own favorite story of the year?  Oof that’s a tough one, but I’m going to have to say Young and Rich and Wild since it was the discussion about this AU in the J&H Discord that actually kick-started my brain into generating ideas and writing again since I found it such a cool idea and I had a lot of fun writing and thinking this one out. Also! Normally I only write one-shots, and I don’t really do multi-chapter fics, so I’m proud that I felt like I could write a multi-chapter fic. Plus, in general, I can see a good improvement to my writing and there are some sections in there that I’m super proud of, and it’s still a WIP! So we have plenty more chapters to go!

Did you take any writing risks last year? Well two of the things I wrote this year I think had ‘writing risks’. Young and Rich and Wild is a multi-chapter fic where I actually took the time to plan it out, which is wildly out of my comfort zone and something that I think I’ve only ever done twice before. The Wolf Admission allowed me to explore some forgotten OCs in a fandom that has kinda died, plus I haven’t actually written much horror before and it was fun to experiment with a field of writing that I like a lot but haven’t done much of. 

Do you have any fanfic or profic goals for the new year? Well, I hope to finish Young and Rich and Wild this year because I’m really eager to get that done and finished. I also have quite a few ideas that have yet to be written about that I want to write about, plus I have some one-shot WIPs that have been in the works for far too long that I really wanna get done. I also have some non-fanfiction stuff that I wanna put out somewhere.

Best story of the year? Honestly? The Wolf Admission because fuck you I’m really proud of that one and it was so fun to write. Plus I started on it in like 2014, left it, and then came back to it late on into 2018 when I suddenly remembered that Drew was an OC that I had. I improved what was there so much, plus I honestly believe I wrote some of my best work in that fic. Shame it has like hardly any hits ;-; 

Most popular story of the year? Wow, easy. Young and Rich and Wild has 151 hits and 22 kudos, plus when I was writing small snippets off the top of my head and putting them in the J&H Discord, a good number of people there were like “dude you should absolutely write this”, so its had a lot of backing. 

Story of mine most under-appreciated by the universe, in my opinion:  *screams from the rooftops* THE WOLF ADMISSION but also a fic from 2017 called The Young Monsters because I really like that one and it doesn’t have as much love as it should. 

Most fun story to write: Yo, all of the fics that I wrote in 2018 were super fun but I think if I had to pick one it would be The Creation of Another, my second fic about my TGS Lodgersona. It involves Hyde getting annoyed at miniature dinosaurs!

Most unintentionally telling story: Weeeeellll I wouldn’t say it’s unintentional but my two Lodgersona fics, Elizabeth Wolfe joins the Society and The Creation of Another are basically just if I was able to live out my dream of having pet dinosaurs in a Victorian fantasy setting...

Biggest disappointment: I think currently it’s a WIP that I’m completely stuck on. I’ve been working on it for a while and I really want it to be good but currently I haven’t been able to figure out where it’s gonna go. It’s a one-shot about TGS Hyde jumping through a portal and ending up in 1930s London, and you all can probably guess what happens next... what is set in 1930s London and could be related to J&H? Remember that it’s ME writing this, the designated Official Leader and War Veteran of this fandom.... That’s right kids my all time favourite TV show ITV’s Jekyll and Hyde. Basically, TGS Hyde and ITV Hyde (aka My Son) meet each other and fight or something? Idk.... do you see my problem? Idk what to do with this situation. 

Biggest surprise: Y’know I wasn’t expecting my two Lodgersona fics to do as well as they did because normally everyone seems to hate OC and sona fics but what d’ya know a decent amount of people liked them!!

Who’s ready for suffering, are you ready for suffering, because I sure as heck am!

This officially marks the beginning of the dark part of this fic. Prepare yourself because I’m not kidding when I say it gets dark. But I’m pretty sure you all know what happens here specifically so yeah. I was gonna make the beginning scene with Gladio longer, but I’ve found that writing him is tricky and I didn’t know what else to add. Hopefully it works out alright.

"Hey Katia, mind if I say something?"

Katia looked up from her seat at Gladio, surprised to see the King's Shield. While things had finally calmed down after their journey in the mines, she hadn't known how to approach him. She certainly didn't expect him to be coming up to her. "Uh, sure. Go ahead."

Gladio sat down in the seat across from her, rubbing the back of his head sheepishly. He must've been trying to figure out what to say, so Katia stayed quiet so he could speak. "About what happened earlier, I said some things and... I shouldn't have done it. I was angry at Noct, not you, and-"

"Stop right there," Katia held her hand up, silencing the large man. "I know you didn't mean any of those things. Not the stuff about me anyway. I don't hold it against you or anything. We all say stupid shit when we're angry. I was just worried about Noct and we both got carried away in the process. just forget about it, okay?"

Gladio sighed. "I still shouldn't have said those things about you. You didn't have your head up your ass like Noct did."

"Look, people handle grief differently. Like Iggy said, Noct will take his place when he's ready, you can't rush that sort of thing. And I know you just wanted to help him, but not everything can be done by yelling at him. As long as we're moving forward, we'll be fine."

"When did you get all sappy?" Gladio raised an eyebrow, a smirk on his face.

"Hey, you know me more for my fighting over everything. You haven't seen the real me!"

"Uh-huh. sure."

"Anyway, let's just put it behind us. No point lingering on the past. I forgive you and all that jazz so we're good," She stood up from her seat. "Anyway, where's Noct? I wanna talk to him."

"He's over in the dining car," Gladio pointed ahead of them. "He's stopped sulking, so that's a bonus."

"Awesome! Talk to ya later!" And with that, she headed into the dining car. It didn't take long for her to find Noctis, he was sitting on his own and stuck out like a sore thumb. She sat down across from him, gaining his attention. "Hey Noct, how're ya doing?"

"Better, I guess." Noctis said, seeming unsure of himself.

"It's okay if you're not, you know. We can talk about it if you want."

"Thanks, but I think I'll be fine."

"...So we're stopping in Tenebrae then. Think you'll be okay while we're there?"

"Yeah, I'll be okay."

Sometimes it felt like she was talking to a brick wall. "Noct, I get what you're going through. Well, not entirely, but I still understand. You've lost a lot lately, and it's hard," She placed her hand on top of his. "But you don't have to go through it alone. Don't bottle it up, okay? We're your friends, we're here for you. If nothing else, I'm always here to listen. I don't wanna watch my best friend suffer. So just know you can come to me when you need to."

Noctis smiled, a sight Katia had longed to see. "Yeah, thanks Kat. But I think I'm fine for now. I'll take you on that offer though the next time I need it."

"Jeez, you're so stubborn, you know that?"

The two laughed a bit. This is what Katia had wanted. Things were back to normal, at least as much as things could be. All they had to do now was go to Tenebrae, then head for Gralea and get the crystal back. Then maybe she could figure out where to go from there.

The sound of running echoed through the car as Prompto suddenly slid by, nearly running past the table. "Woah! There you are, buddy!" He took a glance at Katia's hand, still sitting on top of Noctis', and made an exaggerated frown. "Heeeeey, you're not trying to steal my girlfriend, are you?"

"Who me? Never," Noctis replied. "Kat's not my type."

"So you're saying you'd try if I was your type?" Katia asked.

"Nah, if you were Noct's type, you wouldn't be mine so he wouldn't have to try. And trust me, his type is very specific if you catch my drift." Noctis lightly punched Prompto in the arm, telling him to shut up. Katia couldn't help but laugh. It felt like high school all over again. Just the three of them messing around with each other and having fun. The only difference was now her and Prompto had realized they were soulmates and were officially dating.

She got up from her seat. "Well, I'll let you two chit-chat. Don't wanna intrude on anything private. Just remember what I told you, Noct," The prince nodded his head. She turned to face Prompto. "And as for you," She left him a kiss on the cheek, leaving him a red, stammering mess. "I'll see you later, Sunshine."

"Y-Yeah, see ya..."

As she walked back the way she came, Noctis and Prompto's conversation slipping into her ears, she began to think of what to do to pass the time. She had no way of knowing when they'd get to Tenebrae, and with the tension gone she wanted to do something relaxing. It'd been a while since she'd last had the chance to draw, maybe she could pull out her sketchbook and see what ideas popped into her head. She could also try exploring the train a bit more. There probably wasn't much to see, but it was better than sitting around doing nothing.

Before she could decide though, she felt another headache come out of nowhere. But this was different from most of them, this one seemed to hurt more than any previous one. She fell to her knees, clutching her head to try and make the throbbing pain stop. Why now? What was going on with these headaches? This wasn't natural, there was no way it could be.

She collapsed onto the floor, still clutching her head as she felt herself slipping from consciousness. Her vision went blurry and all noise sounded muffled. Before she blacked out, she thought she saw something move in front of her. Someone running, but stopping for a second to look at her. She thought they said something, but couldn't understand them. Just as the person started running again, she blacked out.

"Kat? Kat, are you alright?"

A voice awoke Katia from her slumber. The pain in her head was gone, but she still felt confused. What just happened to her? She opened her eyes, finding Noctis and Prompto standing above her. She sat up slowly, just in case the pain were to come back. "Noct? Prom? What's going on?"

"Ardyn's here," Noctis said, anger in the back of his voice. "The train's been stopped."

Katia's eyes went wide. No, not him. Not now. Why was he here? "Why're we stopped?"

"That's what we're going to find out," Prompto said. "We're on our way to the rear end of the train, Gladio and Ignis have already made their way to the engine. You should come with us, Kat. It's too dangerous to be here by yourself, especially with Ardyn running around."

Something felt off, Prompto's voice sounded...different somehow. She couldn't place what it was though, probably because she was still recovering from that strange headache. "Y-Yeah, right." Noctis reached his hand out towards her to help her up, and she took it. She wobbled a little as she stood up, but was otherwise fine.

"Think you can handle things?" Noctis asked.

Katia nodded her head. "Yeah, I can fight. I just need a moment." She didn't want to mention the headache. Prompto probably already knew about it, but he wouldn't say anything.

"Alright, let's move." Prompto said. The three of them began to make their way towards the back. As they reached the next car, the windows shattered and the ground shook beneath them.

"Did they bomb us?!" Katia asked.

"Noct, Kat, we have to protect the people!" Prompto shouted.

Of course this would happen now. Just when things had finally improved for them, the Empire had to show up and attack the train. Couldn't they ever get a break, just once? Windows continued to shatter as they made their way through, culminating in an explosion in the side of the car. There they were, MTs, standing outside the train and attacking it.

"Crap, the MTs can self-destruct!"

"We can't let them inside."

"Well then, we take the fight to them!"

The three of them jumped out of the train, weapons in hand and facing an army. They had to protect the train at all costs. Katia tried to keep herself focused on the battle, but found her thoughts going back to Prompto. Not only was his voice different, but the way he spoke and behaved was off too. He'd never been this excited to be fighting before. And it almost seemed like he wasn't sure how to use his gun. Sure, he was still hitting the MTs and taking them out, but she swore she saw him look unsure about how it worked. Or maybe it was just her imagination and her head was still foggy from earlier. It was hard to tell.

It came as a relief when he said Ignis had called and said they were almost good to go. She had to ask Prompto if he was feeling okay. Did their bond make his head fuzzy from the headache too? It was the only logical explanation she could come up with. But it had to wait until they weren't under attack.

Katia and Prompto jumped back on the train, Noctis warping over to them as the train began to move again. Just when they thought they were out of the fire, more MTs appeared on the train and Magitek aircraft began to follow from above. "Kat and I will handle things down here, you go take down our flying friends," Prompto said, Noctis nodding his head as he warped away. Before she could ask anything, Prompto grabbed Katia's hand. "We have to get moving, who knows how many are still on board and we still have Ardyn to deal with." He ran into the train with her in tow.

That's when Katia realized that something was definitely wrong. Whenever Prompto grabbed hold of her left hand with his right, that's when she'd feel the warmth from their bond. Every time, without fail, she'd feel that warmth spreading through their hands. But now, as they were wandering through the train, she felt nothing. There was no warmth whatsoever.

Everything had happened so fast.

They'd found Ardyn on top of the train. He looked confused when he saw them there. "Kat? What're you doing with him?" he asked. Why was he calling her that? Nothing was making sense anymore.

"What're you talking about? Why wouldn't I be with him?" Katia asked.

Ardyn looked like his heart was breaking, as if he genuinely didn't understand what was going on. "Kat, he's dangerous! You need to get away from him!" His voice sounded off too, he was pleading for her to step away. This wasn't like the cold and calculating chancellor she was familiar with.

"I think the lady can decide that for herself." Prompto said, a devilish smirk on his face.

The comment only seemed to agitate Ardyn, as he pulled out a gun and pointed it at Prompto. "What did you do?! This has to be your fault somehow, I know it is!" he shouted.

Katia felt frozen where she stood. She had to do something, but she couldn't will her legs to move forward. She was so confused and had no idea what was going on, but she felt like she needed to do something. "Stop! Don't shoot him!" was the only thing she could manage.

Ardyn turned to face her, still looking hurt. "Kat, why are you defending him? He's totally up to something! Can't you trust me?" He turned back to face Prompto, venom in his eyes. "I'm going to end this before he does anything to hurt you!"

"Prompto!" Noctis' scream echoed through the air as he slashed his sword, causing Ardyn to drop the gun. He took another swipe, knocking him down and causing him to stumble off the train. Katia was about to congratulate him when the image suddenly changed before their eyes.

As Ardyn fell off the train, he changed into Prompto.

Which meant that the Prompto Noctis had just saved was...

How could she not have noticed it? The strange behavior, the lack of warmth, the way "Ardyn" had looked at her, she should have realized that it wasn't Prompto. She was supposed to know him better than anyone else. She should've realized it wasn't him from the beginning! But she was an idiot. A stupid fucking idiot who couldn't even realize that Ardyn had somehow switched places with her soulmate.

"What's the matter, my dear? You look like you've seen a ghost," Ardyn said, as he sauntered over to her. "Or perhaps it's the fact that you just let your lover be pushed off the train by his best friend."

At that point, Katia began running on autopilot. She needed to go save Prompto. She had to bring him back. She couldn't leave him behind. She couldn't lose him. Without thinking, she began to run to the edge of the train car.

"KAT, STOP!" Noctis called out to her, but his words didn't reach her.

Driven only by the thought of saving Prompto, Katia jumped off the train onto the hard ground below. She didn't land gracefully, scraping her knee and feeling a sharp pain in her foot. All she could do was lie there, listening to the train move into the distance.

Once she couldn't hear it any longer, she tried standing up, the weight of what she did hitting her. She just jumped off a moving train, in a place she didn't know, with no idea where Prompto or the train had gone. And she was injured. "Six, tell me this isn't happening." she muttered to herself.

Well, she couldn't stand here forever. She had to find a way out of this. She looked down at the train tracks, her only guide point. If she kept following them, then she'd have to run into Prompto or the train station eventually. Maybe she'd find Prompto and they could make their way to Tenebrae together.

"Don't worry Prom, I'm coming to find you. ...I hope." She summoned her lance, just in case she needed a way to steady herself while walking, and began moving along the train tracks. It was gonna be a long walk.

Really long rant about how I made Vanilla Twilight, I typed it at 2am so it’s kinda crappy and boring, just skip through this post.

So I'd been thinking about it for a long time now, even before finishing Vanilla Twilight that I'd talk about it if someone asked, well that never happened so I was just thinking that I'd let it go but that post is so important to me so well fuck it I'll just talk about it anyway. I did it completely on a wimp like how cool would it be if I make a lyricstuck for Toumaki like I'd be the first (if anyone did this before me im sorry). The first song I intended to do wasn't VT, it was a much shorter and easier song. I saw the music video first time after a while and the lyrics gave me some scenes to draw right away, like the tones, the atmosphere, the lyrics all fit them very well, made me wanted to draw something happy but sad. The ending for it was a happy one instead of a sad one like other songs I did (I didn't post the ending for any of them, just let the viewers decide what it's gonna be) I was very scared like what if it won't turn out ok and people gonna hate me for it or no one even gonna look at it. Also what I visualized are mostly illustrations with backgrounds, what I never done before so high chance it won't go anywhere. I thought well let's just see how far will I get and won't talk about it at all until I post it so at least I won't be all barks no bite. I was very traumatized that someone might know about what I did so I locked all the files when I shut down my PC in case someone hack into it lmao. I started with making a storyboard(kinda) for it, this is where I first got trouble because there was some part I didn't think of when I visualized what I'd draw at first ( 'I don't feel so alone' part mostly and some in between) and it's only at this point that I realized how many I'd have to draw (over 40 images total) and it's mind blowing for someone who rarely finish a painting like me at that time, that number is more than what I'd draw in a year. VT doesn't have choruses that meant I can't do tricks like repeat some panels (I don't like this anyway). I usually painted on small canvas before that but I wanna make sure I can fix things later and some idea I had was pretty big so I used 3000x5000px canvas then trimmed them down ( I didn't know how big it was and it's huge). The idea was to make a tumblr scroll-post like a lyricstuck (my favorites are by paperseverywhere and toastyhat/emptyfeet , they made really cool tutorials about these) so I tried to drew out compositions that would look good scrolling down panel by panel and have some connections between them (this didn't turn out so good in the end because I wasn't good lol) Since I was scared that people might point out that I draw something wrong, it took me almost a week or something searching for references (check my pinterest board) like the streets, sky, houses, roads, outfits, poses,... I was going to draw. I got some knowledge about bikes by this too, like I can tell the differences between road bike, mtb, touring bikes,... I also see and captured bunches of screenshots and reread ywpd trivia countless time to make sure I won't get anything wrong. If you take notice, every outfit Toumaki wear in there are all canon, from anime or promos. The first few panels was really exciting because I had never painted so many with backgrounds before, I was really happy when I almost finished the first verse even compared to the full 3:50 of the song it was only 20 seconds and I thought maybe I can pull this after all. The last panel was intended to be Makichan standing infront of his house looking at the sky but I wanted to show the sky at the end of the panel and that wouldn't work on scroll-down post so I had to leave it for later, I repainted this panel for about 3 times and finished it just 30' before posting. The first panel of the second verse wasn't turning out alright too because that was my first time doing a 3 points perspective drawing and the colors didn't turn out as I wanted either (my intention was a green/gold dawn scene). Things kinda worked well despite that until the scene when Toudou sits in his ink, gdi I didn't know why I was so caught up in that and painted every piece of that wooden floor, it took me almost a week but turned out better than I expected so I was ok with it. I was going to make sketchy paintings for all of the panel but I did too much details on that one so it gave me the impression that I'll have to do just as much for every others. Now I still had school to go and that semester my uni got me pretty crappy schedule that made me have to wait for classes at school frequently, I was frustrated because I didn't get to paint during that time and I might finish it too late (even though I didn't set a deadline) and when I got home I just spent so much time checking twitter and just can't pick myself up to draw and ended up feeling shitty about it. *Side story*  I was so mad because I didn't get anything done and there's still more than half of the whole thing to do and the worst part is that I had no one that I can talk to because I didn't have any friend who ship Toumaki and I also don't want to publicly talk about what I was doing, I wanted to surprise people when I'm done, I didn't wanna give people the expectation then screw it up (I literally thought I'd drop a bomb not a grenade lmao) I can't remember how long was that shitty phase but I felt like it was so long, I barely finished verse 2 at that point. I was so mad at myself and my progress so I spent a few days to look at time management threads and this helped a lot, I changed my habits completely  by this and I still apply those methods now, like I used to stay up til 3am to read fics (bless you writers you fueled me with your writings bless you all) then I switch to bed before 12 and get up early for a good start or reduce working time while increasing quality* After that I kinda got things together,I just went ahead with painting tho it's still kinda tiring, I had to work on 5 essays during this time too. At this point I was like screw all, I give no shit about what everyone thinks I'm just gonna finish this and get some good nap (I practiced power nap to get more focus time for painting but dude everyone wants a good long nap) 10 days before uploading I found out that there's a Toumaki day (I'm so sorry), I was going to posted on the first sunday of June (I did researched on which was the best time to post on social medias so I randomly picked a sunday) and Toumaki day is the last sunday of May, that meant I had 10 days left and 15 panels to paint! I was going to ignore that but I already made it big I should make it right too so I shit my pants going through those last panels. I purposely hiding Toudou's face till the last verse to emphasize the feelz and got so relieved that I finally got to paint him (I read some tags that some viewers got emotional at this part so I'm so glad it worked). The whole things was put under Makichan's perspective so I was so sick of painting him at that point, he showed up in every panel and I can't paint him ugly because he's beautiful (especially his hair, I spent shitload of time painting them). I can talk lots about why I picked to do so but that's headcanon shit and it's embarrassing so let's just skip that. The last day I had only 3 panels left and I was hell confident that I've got this and somehow spent the whole evening rewatch Toumaki pingpong ep (end me). Of course that didn't end well, I managed to finish those by midnight but I still had like 3 panels that needed  repaint completely and all 43 needed retouch and edits. My plan was to post at 9am sunday (thats 9pm saturday est) so I had to get up at 5am and finish all that, I ended up cutting down 2 panels and simplified the instrumental panel (some tags said that was nice so I was at least relieved). Unlike other songs I did, the length of every line's quite different and the original sizes I did would make viewers have to scroll slower or faster at different parts. I didn't plan this beforehand and had to trim down some panels even the parts that I really liked and spent lots of time on. I also found out that people outside the homestuck fandom might not familiar with this type of post so I made a video too (I’m sorry I have zero skill in editing). After posting I was terrified of people's reactions or worse, there won't be any reaction so I turned everything off and went to sleep and woke up with an unimaginable number of notes I'd got, I set the target of 500 notes and I really didn't think that I'd get past that number like maybe 2-300 (well my other songs didnt even get 200), at the end I got 5000. I spent the next week reading and screencap tags given in reblogs, I put them on desktop and they're still my motivation til now. Vanilla Twilight is the thing I'm proud of the most even until now, when I've done other songs and projects that look somewhat better. If I have to recommend one thing on my blog I'd recommend it despite its' unskilled paneling, poor composition and muddy colors. It was the first time in my life that I'd put so much effort into something and went through such emotional roller coaster, the feelings I put into it was raw and the idea was very original compared to other songs, I improved and changed a lot during the 2 months I spent on it and never once regret doing it. ***Anyway, you sure have much free time to read it this far, here's a little game for you: I put random things in VT and HF like some characters/stuff from other series, my ocs,...
