Anyways bill rambles under cut for um. Long

So!! Something something failed rebel to reluctant fleet to also return rebel but in more the little ways pipeline or some shit. Got into it WAY sooner than one reasonably should with junie, and um. Oopsies got a wall crashin down on her when shit hit the fan. Junie feels bad for leaving her for dead, bc um. He thought she was. But!! Bill’s been getting augmentations since, the structure around her spine from the initial incident has been built on and expanded over the years. When her hands are together, there can be a full circuit, going from her spine and meeting at the external pieces on the hands. There are external nodes at joints, both to avoid damage to internal wiring on accident, and some nodes have segments that are more than just structural, functioning as the source of the holograms bill can make. These holograms take exponential focus and effort to work with, but if for nothing more than a party trick, she’ll make pink little like. Minecraft silverfish to wiggle around. Bug party.

She’s a primarily on-world fleet mechanic, specializing in ships, and has spent a long time functionally trying to clear her name in the empire’s eyes. She’s not much more loyal now than she was as a teen, but she’s. Quieter about it. For the sake of being able to be nobody, to be a cloak for somebody else when the need arises. She’s friends with folks that help hide mutants, and works with them when possible, and she’s currently housemates with Mauve who… a little bit turned up at her garage in a crashed ship. He lives in her basement, and is waiting on word from his or any of Bill’s friends on where he can actually be of some help, aside from like. Being eyes for the fleet. I’m not entirely decided yet on what exactly he was doing as the FarSight, but um. His moral crisis and subsequent turn on the empire was newsworthy.

She loves to get into shit and go climbing around, but she doesn’t go with Junie too often because. They’ve stopped looking at her with those big guilty eyes, but there’s still. Something. Bill has moved on, Junie hasn’t. She also helps Gedian work on his truck for the funsies, he hasn’t found the ‘bill was here’ written on the back of the steering wheel in sharpie yet. Aurrel and she have ongoing long-term tic tax toe games going on the walls of the bed, though. She’ll add somethin when the truck is at her garage, and aurrel or someone will add somethin when Gedian’s drivin them somewhere.

Examples include

Bladed’s whole thing about getting new cybernetics is directly related to his chronic pain. He can’t help it so he will control it. His knees were causing enough issues that he was getting reckless- it wasn’t on purpose that he got caught in an explosion, but choosing the more drastic medical options was. Trying to craft himself into some monstrous, half metal thing, was intentional. Still is.

Relatedly, aurrels rage and stubbornness with his own pain. He’ll refuse help when he’s hurting because he can choose not to feel pathetic about it (nevermind that it isn’t actually pathetic, he’s just in a State abt it always), and between that and the adhd, he’s going to take that helpless feeling and the excess restlessness and put it into being angry, because anger makes sense. Being pissed off and pissing off others makes sense, where everything else doesn’t. It’s like his thing with embroidery or math, but he’s not hiding this method of coping, even if trying to drag that info out of him would be like pulling teeth. Very heavy bite risk, and you’d be learning just how much strength lives in those jaws.

Pyrric. Going from being experimented on for the healing factor, and turning it around into abusing it. If he’s going to heal anyways, she’s going to claim it. They’re going to wield it as an instrument. It’s infinitely more directed with Daemia, because rather than finding someone to give an excuse to reclaiming the sensation of dying, just for a little bit, now it’s an act of devotion. It’s intimate. Same with the wanting to be cute as she can. He got stuck with being a shifter, and it’s almost entirely controlled by fear, and she hates that and how they perceive themselves like that, so he’s swinging extra hard in the other direction. Sometimes just to prove that they can. Sometimes just to take that ground back.

Um Ethann. Gestures to him in general. VERY aggressive abt things, because anything less went ignored for so long, and now they feel. Unmoored about being able to just. Choose not to do something. She’s um. Still learning autonomy. Mauve and Bill are helping. But… a lot of the immediate lashing out is a certainty that any arguments will go disregarded. Unfortunate to have an issue with needles when one is created in a lab for experimental purposes. Even moreso when, in one’s youth, they get cloned, and continuously compared to said altered clone until escaping

SPEAKING OF WHOM!!! Beastly. Our beloved beastly. He’s um. Baby boy. If he does good enough he gets good things. But also um. Genuinely can’t make decisions seemingly at random for similar reasons of. Always under someones direction. Beastly my love, I promise u can get a glass of water, nobody minds. He just. Assumes it’s over-caution due to being strong and sharp and outside of a controlled environment. Which I mean that’s DEFINITELY not helping. He’s overly gentle because that way any damage he does is on purpose. Usually.
