ngl i lowkey blame the rise of snark as the baseline mode of interaction in geek culture for cinemasins type commentary becoming a big deal and thus for the smug nitpicking that tends to dominate so much of fandom now

#like. look i know snark culture didn’t invent this issue #i too have seen mallrats and jason lee playing the most annoying kind of comics fan #but also like. the way people think attempting to poke holes and Be Smarter Than The Media is how you do critique #like. or we could try engaging with the story and remembering suspension of disbelief is a thing #yes obviously sometimes media just Fucks Up #but i saw somebody refer to a scripted line that got changed in filming as a CONTINUITY ERROR today #people have been so poisoned by this style of critique that they enter all media Trying To Beat it #it’s tiresome it’s annoying often it’s not even factually correct it’s just people not paying attention and wanting a hot take #like. maybe we could all try engaging with the story actually being told? maybe?

i’ve been cursed by beautiful wide hips that i do not want, and thick thighs that make finding pants that fit near fucking impossible.

if dresses weren’t seen by most people as inherently feminine and i wasn’t wildly uncomfortable being seen in them most of the time, i would wear dresses and nothing else simply for ease of not having to find pants that fit or match my shirts.
