they are a bit of both! Fazbear Entertainment being Fazbear Entertainment (and especially with the new AR mask stuff from the ruin dlc) was experimenting with a brand new virtual companion kind of thing ever since the pizzaplex burned down! its similar to the AR app (that.. isnt very canon as far as im aware but doesnt seem too far of a stretch from what they would do) & scp-1471 - with the fun twist being that its not an app. it's almost like a reality-warping virus, ig??

so to answer your question: yes, they were made by fazco! but (and i tried to hint at this in the third video but im honestly not sure how well they came across) despite limiting the first batch of these "virtual companions" to the beta testers that signed up for the program, a couple of strays ended up on the front porch of other people's brains (including "you"/the pov you play as throughout the videos)

the current idea im working with is that the entities are linked to the original (decommissioned) animatronics, but duplicated - think the way that freddy comments on there being other freddies in other pizzaplex locations. im really liking the idea of subtle variations between entities: same original source, same memories, but slightly different reactions, personalities and effects on their host!! i imagine especially so for entities based on aggressive animatronics like monty. some of them are a tad confused on why theyre there.

I think I'll dump all of my thoughts onto one post as we go along...and I have a lot of thoughts so sorry this is gonna be LONG

Firstly, before I start the episode, AAA I'M SO EXCITED FOR THIS!!! I haven't actually truly rewatched CS in sooo long

Okay, let's go. Why don't we ever talk about the intros? Like the grabbing of the hat and then later that as part of the black and white/red intro sequence? MWAH.

Chase's headlights illuminate spots on the screen when they turn towards the "camera!"

I love this introduction to the entire show. It really makes us feel like we're part of this mystery, investigating this thief with Chase and Julia (until...well...everything gets directly told to us via flashbacks 8 minutes in..). It tells us everything we basically need to know about how Carmen operates in like 30 seconds.

Let's take a moment to appreciate the art style of this show....oh my gosh. The lighting the texturing the lineless agh its so good

I guess I haven't thought about it for a little while, but I guess Chase slamming on the breaks is supposed to fake us out thinking that he has seen Carmen's shadow. It sets up how idiotic of a detective he is, while Julia is observant and actually makes connections. I really like this early (VERY early) setup to how their relationship is going to work. However, at the same time, the show is really gunning for us to root for Julia when she starts infodumping. Chase is clearly the asshole. I can't help but wondering, though, if the show undercuts the importance of Julia's research by IMMEDIATELY cutting away to something "more interesting" (Carmen) as soon as she starts talking. What do you think?

I like how Carmen just shoots out of the alleyway and looks at them for a solid minute. She's just like 👁️👁️ i mean we KNOW it doesn't take her that long to use her grappling hook. She was just watching them

something i dislike about carmen's character is that whenever it matters carmen is ALWAYS one step ahead of whoever doing whatever. they couldn't have had us start off by seeing her as flawed but competent, cocky but still human by having gray track her here. it would have immediately set VILE up as a real threat. but instead its just the girlboss badass gray is an idiot moment. idk

biggest art inspos?

@lycheestew sorry it took me three and a half months to answer this you sent it to me right around the time i finished my composition writeup and i was like 'good god i can not spend another two seconds thinking about art right now ill answer this later' and then well i just kept not doing it

but anyway. heres uhhh some stuff that was formative/that i am presently into.

Ever since I was in middle school I have been OBSESSED with tracy j. butler's work, she does the webcomic lackadaisy cats and everything she draws is just masterful. Her fully polished paintings are beautiful but I'm choosing to show some of her pencil sketches here because... well... just look at them. like holy shit. I think you could probably trace my love of drawing more stylized proportions with a disproportionate amount of detail on the clothing to her stuff. she also just does magnificent character work and i have a print of her expression tutorial that i kept hanging right by my bed to look at for years.

i was also, as you all know, incredibly incredibly deep into homestuck fandom for the majority of my Learning to Draw years so there were a few artists who were big during peak homestuck posting era that were very formative for me.

in particular i was really into @xamag-homestuck's stuff because i just found the way she stylized characters super pleasing. i spent a bunch of time trying to emulate that.

there was also someone who went by putoshop, i don't know what their current socials are if any but the old blog's gone, and i can specifically site their art as being the thing that got me to start trying lineless stuff

i also have loved loved loved everything @ggdgart has ever done and in particular their use of color in cucumber quest imprinted on me a ton and is something i have drawn a lot of inspiration from over the years. on top of that they have a wonderful sense of fashion and their character designs are just great. cucumber quest rules.

i also was a kid who was really into western cartoons and didn't start watching anime with any regularity until i was in college so a lot of those meant a lot to me. a lot of my early drawing was done trying to copy/trace avatar the last airbender screenshots and while i think it definitely got me started i honestly feel like it had less of a long-lasting impact on the way my art looks than other stuff that i didn't even watch a ton of. i was never super deep into either show as media but i always absolutely loved the aesthetics happening in samurai jack and my life as a teenage robot. they both had that excellent geometric midcentury vibe. more recently in comparison to those two, i also feel in love with the background style in gravity falls and would say that was pretty influential.

right now as for present inspiration i'm absolutely obsessed with everything that deb jj lee does because, well. once again i find really the only adequate thing to say is 'holy shit'

6. Which artists inspire you right now?

Alright buckle up folks this is a longer one

So I'm gonna answer this in two parts basically. The first part is artists that inspired me to start drawing what I like, especially fantrolls-- so a lot of my friends really!! Wanting to be in this community is what made me start actually doing art as something I was passionate about!!!!! The second part is actually twitter artists that inspired me to actually renovate my art style, try new things, and actually grow as an artist in ways that I really just never did here before.

I know I'm gonna forget a lot of people but the ones that come to mind right away for people who had an Impact on me back in the day are !!U!! gabriel 8bit-mau5, newt indig0trolls, my friend max who's no longer in the community, my friend lumiet who doesn't even do fantrolls but is really cool, and god a lot of old blogs whos muns are just gone now..................... wistful sigh :(

BUUUUUT as for artists who made me want to actually grow again in my. Wait hold on

Hella cool to see someone be like, never satisfied in a "i love art and drawing so i want to grow and do it as well as i can as a respect for the craft" type of way. I don't think any of these guys except for Wolfy are actually into dsmp anymore but when I got into their content they were all dsmp fanartists so.

Okay this is really long actually so I'll quit there. There are a lot of things I want to redo on it that are also things I redid in the process of making this comic but as is the nature of being so used to drawing sprites I forget how to draw people in actual poses and also interacting with things. I still think overall just because also of how funky I got with the coloring, framing, the fact that this is the first comic ive ever planned and fully completed ever, etc. that this one's my fav thing I've drawn in 2022 thus far

ok first of all thank you anon thats so sweet !! omg !! and i don't really have any other art accs but if you want to follow my artfight .. thats the only place i have any of my original content at the moment! i should be posting there quite a bit next month and i'm trying to upload some new characters in the next few days so if you want a peek into my little non-dames-related mind? as for art insp i take a lot of inspiration from biblical and mythological paintings & stories, especially when it comes to symbolism. also music! i love drawing based on music. for actual style i have no clue,, i'm sure i take insp from artists i see online and whatever media i'm interested in? like lately ive been taking a lot of insp from. sigh. death note cover art. because my friend and i got into it as a joke but i . really enjoy the art. like the artist seems like kind of a shithead but he sure can biblical imagery. for practice- i really don't take my art seriously at all, i just draw because its my favorite thing to do! its very fun for me to try to improve my art and i draw whenever i can. i've been trying to paint landscapes from reference for practice (thats not the type of thing you see here but . i do it !) and i think its helpful to use art you admire as reference for aspects you struggle with- i don't do them often but painting studies are very cool! also reading books on art theory is suuuper helpful if thats something youre interested in. i say these things but my main form of practice is just drawing from memory soooo much like too much. i dont suggest it reference is great and i know my anatomy and posing suffers from not using ref ever. i also just draw on a huge document and sketch probably. 50-100 things per canvas. also i do all of my finished things on the same canvas with everything else . making new files is for suckers. i don't know if thats helpful for my artistic progression but its what i do. also i never do underlying sketches for ANYTHING ! i will just paint directly onto a sketch, clean up a sketch and color under it , OR just paint directly without any sketch if im doing lineless. i work best this way for whatever reason. again. i dont necessarily suggest it but i think its important to find a rhythm that works for you!

I was so proud of this picture. Still sort of am. I remember drawing this with a new set of brushes i had downloaded and it was a lot of fun to redraw these pokemon from small reference pictures. I dont think i noticed that back then but now im proud of my past self cuz i think i managed to draw the pokemon pretty well and it was one of the first times i tried to redraw something without using the exact same pose or position from my reference pic, but trying something different. HAH. My laptop was definitely not made for a canvas this big xD its a 3000 x 3000 canvas and my laptop was struggling a lot during the whole process and i was so scared it would crash any second (luckily it didnt =w=). I was watching naruto while drawing this, thats why the expression looks the way it does lol Now i dont think it looks that good but back then i was damn proud of myself and i think it a sort of achievement aswell since i had never tried to draw a more detailed face this way

BOOM! x) "BOOM" 2 to be exact, me and my friend keep track of all my random boom pictures lol. This one was a redraw of a random sketch i had drawn previously, aka boom 1. Tbh i dont think i ever had so much fun or was so satisfied with a picture as i am/was with this one. There was no point to it, no background story, nothing, i just wanted to draw something fun and thats what i did and the picture still makes me happy, despite the flaws it has pwp

Very happy with this one too. I wanted to draw fanart for the little trashmaid comic series (its great, check it out) and when i was done i was super happy with how it turned out and the creator of the comic seemed to like it aswell ^w^ I still like it and im not feeling embarrassed about it in the slightest, which i think is the best thing about the picture (even tho it could have been better)

I love this picture and i dont really care about all the things i did or didnt do wrong. At the beginning i was having trouble and got a bit frustrated with it since i didnt know how to draw what i wanted to but in the end i think it turned out great and idk, it just makes me happy :D

The first picture after i had nuked my old account. Id love to ramble about this picture and the story behind it but that would take too much time and i doubt anyone made it this far anyways lol What i can say is that the drawing process of this one was also a lot of fun and i was able to just go into a..somewhat trance state and just, well, draw. I think that one was also the one where i found my love for lineless backgrounds. (when im in the right mood i love painting them)

This was..hm. Challenging. Intimidating. I hadnt seen a lot of Sky: Children of the Light fanart and after my first attempt at a screenshot redraw had gone well, i wanted to try another one. And as soon as i had started, it just worked. I had some trouble with the shading and it doesnt look very good at some parts but eh i still love it (not super happy with the colours but im getting better at that i think)

I dont know what happened there lol I remember wanting to draw something for the prompt but being pretty late? Idk, anyways, for some reason i decided to start drawing at 10pm and keep going without a single break until 2-3am. Again, i was in this drawing bubble and only broke out when i felt like i was gonna pass out and i had to finish. I know i could have just stop and gone to sleep but for some reason i didnt. But ye i like the result, i see so many mistakes and things id like to change but it is what it is

Hach...Theres so much wrong here xD But oh well. I drew the sketch in a free period in school befor latin class and later redrew it digitaly. I wanted to draw stardew valley fanart and so i did pwp It was fun so i dont dislike the picture but i still know that there are parts that dont make any sense xD

Its so pretty ;w; I mean cmon- it is. This is a picture where i have no problem to be arrogant or show of cuz i think i did a really good job with it and welp theres nothing more to say. I love it and it was a great drawing process

Very frustrating. The pose was fine but- the background? Oof. It took me ages to get it done, then i decided it sucks and deleted it and started from scratch and drew a whole new background. Im..half happy with the result. Its not what i wanted it to be but i guess it turned out fine and i dont dislike it

Again, super happy. It turned out very nicely and actually close to what i had in my mind. It also came put pretty quick. I only had trouble with the clothes but eh im gonna get better at that eventually

not many of you wanted this but i did it for the people that did bc i yalls seem to like them and that makes me really happy !! also im not the greatest at explaining things verbally so dont hesitate to ask me any questions you have :)

my colors have always looked really bland w/o a bunch of filters on them and i never really liked it. this is mostly my fault bc i hardly eVER use references and i just guess the colors

so you get your sketch

line (optional) and color it with the normal colors you use

i shaded this but its also optional like the lineart

so you get a color riGht around here

make a layer that’s clipped to the coloring layer and set it to “hard light” and fill the whole thing

it’ll look something like the preview in the left hand side

its too blue

so what you do is you make the color you currently have orange

and you color over the spots that have warm colors

it still looks off, doesn’t it ?? also i didnt color mag’s face because the orange we used was too light. the blue on his hood and scarf and shirt are too light too. now what you gotta do here is pick a dark color (dark blue and dark red in this case) and color over the necessary spots

you can change the opacity if it’s too bright, like here i toned it down

i polished it and turned up the hard light layer’s opacity, so it looks like this now

now i could stop here but there’s a few more things i wanna mention

i made the buckle on mag’s scarf a light yellow instead of leaving it blue because if i left it blue there would be too much blue

i don’t typically do gray’s or white’s because they contrast with the bright and vibrant colors and they just don’t look right

also the hard light trick is very hard to do when im drawing a lineless piece, so i usually just guess the colors myself

here’s some tips for that !!!!

again, taranza’s eyes aren’t teal despite white usually being “translated” into teal because it would be too much teal in one spot, also you wouldn’t be able to tell what is and isn’t hair. i made his gloves teal however because it would look nice with the orange markings

taranza’s hair isn’t white, it’s gray, but i made it teal because it simply looks better. red and teal are (sorta) complimentary colors so they look good together

this concludes my tutorial and please ask me questions if you’re confused bc it’s nearly 2 am so this probably isn’t that good lmAO
