ROBIN!!! im absolutely in LOVE with postmortem/postpartum, its such a good fic and its so refreshing honestly to see such a creative, interesting concept be explored especially with so much care and love. i said this in my tags but thats rly what fanfic is all about, EXPLORING!!! exploring canon, exploring characters, putting them in new situations and seeing what happens. i love love love it. and seeing gojo in such a brand new, vulnerable light, with both him and reader navigating life as a disabled-coded person following his death and resurrection, is so fascinating. and when he did the divine dogs hand motion to megumi i literally almost cried. if its ok with u, i had a couple questions!!!
what was reader before the incident? a teacher at jujutsu high? just a friend to satoru? im interested in what role they played prior to everything that happened. obviously megumi knew reader, but im curious what that relationship is!!
how with it is satoru? reader had to pick out his outfit and bathe and feed him, we’ve seen that much, but is he able to dress himself? how well does he move - walking and such? does reader always have to help feed him or was that just a one time occurrence to encourage him to eat?
SORRY if im bombarding you with too many questions, i just love this concept so much and im so fascinated with it 🤍🤍🤍
AH HELLO!!!!!!! omg i saw your wonderful tags earlier while i was working and i was just so giddy to read them!!!! thank you so much 💕 i really am enjoying exploring this story and am happy that others are as well 🥹 i felt like maybe the whole thing would just be something only i would be interested in LOL which would’ve been totally fine tbh but i’m thrilled to see it resonating with other people!!
no worries about asking questions at all! thank you for doing so! i realize some things have been rather vague thus far and probably have a few people wondering what the deal is lol
more details will be revealed somewhat soon in the story i suppose, but so far my intention has been for reader to be a sorcerer—not necessarily a teacher, but many sorcerers do of course tend to engage with the school and its students, so that’s where the familiarity comes from. it will also be implied that they and gojo were either classmates or otherwise very close in age during school (that’s a specific detail i haven’t exactly landed on yet lol)
as for satoru, i’ve honestly been playing it a little loose when it comes to his condition thus far, though i would like to perhaps refine some of these details in my mind. however, it’s purposefully meant to come across a bit wishy-washy since it’s truly something that everyone is learning as they go along. in my mind, the time since satoru’s revival/awakening has really not been long at all—maybe two weeks at the most. new things are being unearthed every day.
however!! he is very much inspired by brain injury patients as well as autistic individuals with higher support needs (somewhere in between levels 2 and 3). it’s a bit of a concoction of both (as well as tidbits of other things) based on my own observations and research rather than something that’s more clearly defined as being coded as one or the other, especially since what happened to him was… not normal LMAO so there are some supernatural aspects as well that sort of make it its own /thing/
his motor functions are pretty normal for the most part aside from perhaps the occasional coordination issue, though i almost imagine that his six eyes/powers are automatically trying to overcompensate for such things?? which would in turn cause extra fatigue at the end of the day. but tbh that’s something i’m going to put more thought into!!
one of his biggest issues is with executive function/initiating tasks and making decisions. the cognitive impairments are what require reader’s prompting and assistance a lot of the time. however, reader is also potentially overcompensating (or lacking) in some areas as well simply because they haven’t been able to accurately gauge all of satoru’s capabilities yet and are overall not used to caring for someone at this level.
so while he is actually physically able to perform most tasks, the cognitive function isn’t quite there, nor are the memories on how to engage in certain tasks (probably mostly those with more steps/complications) without prompting and reminders. it can take his brain a little bit longer to calculate and process several things.
i just have this image in my head of reader pulling underwear over their pants or something while trying to demonstrate to him how to get dressed without having to fully intervene LMFAO since they are trying to maintain some modesty/distance at the moment. which… probably won’t last for long tbh because it’s not quite practical at this stage.
but there is maybe a little room for neurological improvement on his end! however, it is not my goal for the story to see that he is “fixed” or anything of the sort, nor do i want it to diminish his person. it’s a balancing act!
sorry i just rambled a lot skdjsjsnshdudidie but once again, thank you so much for reading and asking!!! discussions like these really help me understand my thoughts a lot better and i really enjoy hearing yours as well! it certainly helps keep the inspiration flowing rather than all of these little things getting trapped up in my mind lol 💖

Perhaps she thought that was her location in the world and also no-one could fault her if she did her tasks to the utmost of her capability. I once had a neighbor who informed the globe as well as it's mommy she thought sanitation was beside Godliness as well as invested all the time daily cleaning her residence. It is thought that from this you truly have the choice to look into every little thing prior to you also need to get something. Tight neck lines would certainly problem you and also also the positioning of buttons at odd positions would certainly create you issues, so check these beforehand. At the exact same time the buttons and also various other aspects in the style must be thoroughly stitched. However Betty had the cash money each time I mosted likely to prison This song further illustrates using contrasting narratives to share love. This instance better shows making use of initial language in conversational narratives. And also, moms and dads will certainly be likely to maintain purchasing garments to stay on par with the changes in the child's growth - dimension, weight, size, and also shape. Nevertheless, these immunization procedures will only make their systems solid however it doesn't offer an assurance that germs can't penetrate their method. So why did she act this way? The same thing can be real with, certainly with tube maternities, thats why those two can be confused. Yes it is real that infant garments do not last long with youngsters expanding as fast as they do, but caring for a children clothing is still just as, otherwise more, important. Hip-Hop, you the love of my life which's real This flow is special due to the fact that it utilizes both the metaphoric and different narrative strategies. The presentation of Hip-Hop enjoy stories is a really uphill struggle. And that leads us to one of the most preferred metaphoric Hip-Hop love narrative of our time. Babies will like this meal. Thick as well as fluffy clothing will certainly maintain the infant warm from head to toe. Here is a list of preferred things that has been researched with a few of the largest online merchants of baby products. Below are several of the standard points you'll desire to have. Do you wish to provide a present to a brand-new mother without spending a whole lot of cash? They utilize it when washing to get rid of smells, soften the textiles, and also give your baby as well as kid apparel a fresh and extra natural scent. When you are considering your kids comfort, its not only about the layout of the apparel youre buying it will certainly likewise be an issue of exactly how the thing rests on your children body. Consider just how much you have into the product. The following time you are re-assembling your package, make sure to include that thing. I prefer to hang around with my household as well as friends, talking on the phone, choosing lengthy strolls or dancing the evening away. With all that having actually been stated, Ive discovered a brand-new food that I understand I'm mosting likely to enjoy. Quickly you'll discover that having just a few wonderful outfits ends up being unwise. I had an excellent cost-free site a couple of years ago I saw on a daily basis. Use your Roadway Adventure logbook to record everybodies remarks concerning the day. This will certainly serve no excellent as getting child items indiscriminately will not just be waste of cash but additionally waste of time and also power which you can put for some useful use. If passing by automobile you should constantly make use of a child seat as well as comply with the supplier's guidelines for suitable. If your trip restriction is no even more than a one-hour cars and truck ride one way, then look for areas of passion within regarding 40 miles of house. Which is not an issue because just like kidneys, simply like testis, females with one ovary can have equally as many infants as a female with two ovaries as well as two tubes. Obviously it is a 2x matrix, meaning those first 2 individuals you got to sign up with are on your initial level. You should constantly have 2 pairs during the night time, because you never know when a baby is mosting likely to spit up or have a diaper leak that can require a complete garment change.

He additionally describes his love interest as "this Ethiopian queen from Philly ", using the imperial characterization so common in spiritual love narratives. If you're truly strapped for cash, after that you can possibly make do with utilizing your bed as a changing table, however if you can, this is something I highly suggest. Its much better to feed child first thing in the early morning, then enable some play or remainder time in between prior to offering baby a bathroom. At a "Pamper Party," a concept significantly preferred for mothers that already have numerous youngsters and consequently the majority of right stuff they really require, they might take residence spa devices such as a loofah or bubble bath. A great bath-themed present basket would contain some hypo-allergenic bathroom products, like baby bathrooms, talc, towels, and bath playthings.
The significant plus is that many, otherwise every one of these cost-free things, are supplied right to the mother's home. As well as, with that, allows solve down to the core. Do you have the software application you require to start? Eventually you are mosting likely to want to deliver your child, so you will need to buy something. Unless you're preparing to hang on to them for your next infant, they're simply accumulating dirt. With a couple of straightforward abilities, an useful collection of "things, " as well as simply a bit of planning as well as preparation, youll get on your method! There is an area for TELEVISION in our lives and also it is after all the fastest way of absorbing information from around the globe. Taking courses abroad Right here, the poet utilizes the spiritual narrative to describe the moment, location and also feelings that his love was founded on, talking them as if they were in some way meant to take place. Maybe she thought that was her place worldwide as well as no-one can fault her if she executed her tasks to the utmost of her capacity. I once had a neighbor that informed the globe as well as it's mommy she thought sanitation was beside Godliness and invested all day on a daily basis cleaning her house. It is believed that from this you really have the option to take a look at every little thing prior to you also have to get something. Limited neck lines would certainly trouble you and also the positioning of buttons at weird positions would certainly cause you troubles, so examine these beforehand. At the exact same time the buttons and also other elements in the layout need to be meticulously sewn. But Betty had the cash money every time I mosted likely to prison This track additionally illustrates using contrasting narratives to express love. This instance further shows using introductory language in conversational stories. The poet feels it is inappropriate for any individual to "call you out your name ", or simply put, make use of demeaning language toward his love. A number of the infant shower suggestions will certainly benefit any location, inside or out. Do you desire your baby to look charming or trendy with infant garments however you do not have ideas on where to seek them? Cost is a significant thing you would want to think about when buying infant clothes. It's very easy, check out a child apparel store. Apparel treatment plays a big duty in your baby's safety. For this reason, it is constantly suggested that you keep the security as well as convenience consider mind also when you are looking for event outfits for your little one. Also when you have actually purchased a lacy shirt for your tiny girl, if you wind up getting a size that takes place to be a little larger than her real size, she will certainly be comfy in it. And also, parents will be most likely to keep purchasing clothing to maintain up with the modifications in the child's development - dimension, weight, length, and also form. Thus, acquiring clothing that are somewhat bigger than the real dimension of your infants body presents will certainly be great as it guarantees optimal comfort for the child.
However, these immunization procedures will just make their systems solid yet it doesn't provide a guarantee that germs can't penetrate their method. So why did she behave this way? The very same thing can be real with, absolutely with tube pregnancies, thats why those two can be confused. Yes it is true that child clothes don't last long with kids expanding as fast as they do, but looking after a babies clothes is still equally as, otherwise more, vital. Hip-Hop, you the love of my life and that holds true This flow is unique because it makes use of both the metaphoric as well as different narrative methods. The discussion of Hip-Hop love narratives is an extremely difficult job. Which leads us to one of the most preferred metaphoric Hip-Hop love narrative of our time. Children will like this recipe. Thick and fluffy attires will maintain the child cozy from head to toe. Right here is a checklist of prominent items that has actually been investigated with several of the biggest on the internet retailers of child items. Below are several of the fundamental things you'll want to have. Do you wish to offer a present to a new mother without spending a lot of loan? They use it when cleaning to get rid of smells, soften the fabrics, and give your baby as well as kid clothing a fresh as well as extra natural aroma. When you are thinking of your youngsters comfort, its not only regarding the design of the garments youre acquiring it will additionally refer exactly how the product rests on your children body. Take into consideration just how much you have into the item. The next time you are re-assembling your kit, make certain to add that item. I prefer to hang around with my family and also pals, chatting on the phone, choosing lengthy strolls or dancing the evening away. With all that having been stated, Ive found a new food that I understand I'm mosting likely to enjoy. Soon you'll uncover that having only a few good clothing becomes impractical. I had an excellent cost-free site a few years ago I saw on a daily basis. Use your Road Experience logbook to tape-record every people comments concerning the day. This will certainly serve no great as acquiring baby products indiscriminately will not just be waste of money yet additionally waste of time and also power which you can place for some positive use. If taking a trip by cars and truck you need to always utilize a safety seat as well as follow the supplier's guidelines for suitable. If your journey limit disappears than a one-hour vehicle trip one way, after that try to find locations of passion within regarding 40 miles of house. Which is not a trouble since much like kidneys, much like testis, women with one ovary can have equally as many infants as a woman with 2 ovaries and also two tubes. Obviously it is a 2x matrix, suggesting those first two people you reached sign up with get on your first level. You should always have 2 pairs during the night time, because you never ever know when an infant is mosting likely to spew up or have a diaper leak that can need a total garment adjustment.

Could Waking Up an Hour Earlier Change Your Life?
Getting enough exercise has always been an issue for me, mostly because I think working out is so incredibly boring. I love the initial rush I get when I hop on my elliptical or take a brisk walk through the neighborhood, but I always wind up counting down the seconds until Ive satisfied my goal for the day whatever it is. The humdrum of repetitive movement is bad enough, but I also struggle to find the time. Not only do I have two kids ages 7 and 9, but I work full-time and I have groceries to buy, meals to make, and a home to take care of. We also have piano lessons, gymnastics classes, and an array of school activities to plan for each week. I love my life, but its also exhausting. My husband and I have tried several strategies to get a workout in each day. For a while, we tried getting up at 6:30 a.m. before the kids get up at 7 a.m., but we would get out of our routine quickly if one of us overslept. We also tried doing our exercise videos in the late afternoon for a while, but we were always so distracted. After all, its hard to crank out a T-25 video when the kids are home and asking 300 questions the entire time. The obvious answer here is one Ive fought against for as long as I can remember getting up even earlier. If I could just get out of bed long before everyone else does, I would have plenty of time for exercise without my kids asking for things or any other distractions. Why I Started Getting Up Earlier Earlier this year, I decided that I had finally had it with constantly failing to achieve my goals. While I have never been one to get out of bed super early, I started setting the alarm for 5:55 a.m. Thats not so early that it makes me miserable, but it gives me plenty of time to drink some coffee and do 25 minutes on my Bowflex M3 Max Trainer. And, my oh my, what a difference this has made! Now that I have the hang of getting up early, I have no excuse not to work out. I never feel rushed or distracted, and I am in much better physical and mental shape. I also feel like Im in a much better mood and much more prepared to handle whatever life throws my way. Simply put, the change has been amazing! The thing is, this isnt really all that surprising. Ive read countless articles about the virtues of rising early for years, and many successful people swear by this practice. For example, Apple CEO Tim Cook reportedly gets up at 3:45 a.m., and Ellevest CEO Sallie Krawcheck gets up at 4 a.m. Plenty of other successful early risers have been profiled in publications like Business Insider and Forbes, and the story is usually the same. People who get a lot done believe that getting up earlier gives them more time and more mental energy to be successful. And, while a lot of people believe that staying up late can also help them gain more free time, getting up early is usually the more advantageous option. Either strategy can give you more hours in the day, but financial advisor and life coach Natalie Bacon says that waking up early is way more helpful for a few reasons including the fact that you generally dont have what she calls decision fatigue in the mornings. Your brain is ready to go and isnt tired, she says. Even if youre a night person, you still run the risk of being more exhausted at the end of the day because youvebeen making decisions all day long. How Getting Up One Hour Earlier Can Improve Your Life If youre someone who wishes you had more hours in the day and more time to get things done, you may be wondering if getting up early is the answer youve been looking for. Here are a few reasons you may want to set your alarm clock an hour earlier from now on. You can live more intentionally. Bacon says that getting up can give you the time and space to be the creator of your life instead of responding, reacting, and putting out fires. When you wake up as late as possible, youre constantly having to rush to solve problems and prepare for the day, whereas getting up earlier can help you plan your day more intentionally. While Bacon works full-time as a life coach now, she used to work on her side hustle on top of her full-time financial planning job. Instead of burning the midnight oil to get things done, Bacon said she would wake up at 4 a.m. to brainstorm for her new business. This way, I knew that I got it done no matter what. Nothing could interfere with it, she said. Getting up early helped her be more intentional in this case because she was prioritizing her goals instead of waiting to see if she had time for them later in the day. You can work toward big goals or your own peace of mind. Most of us have something we wish we could accomplish, whether thats exercising more, learning a new language, or pursuing higher education. While it can be difficult to find time to accomplish anything when youre working and raising a family, getting up early can buy you the time to work on these goals a little bit at a time. Bacon also said that morning time is excellent for self-care that you cant find time for during regular daytime hours. If youre not working on a business goal, you can wake up early to read, journal, meditate, or pray basically anything that improves your state of mind or makes you happier. A morning routine with specific habits, even if theyre small, can compound over time to have a huge positive impact on your life, she says. You could finally get in shape. I already mentioned how I get up early for the sole purpose of drinking coffee and working out. For me, early morning is really the only time I can exercise consistently and without interruption. And since I sit at a computer all day long, I have to work out. Todd Mitchem, who is a life coach, speaker, and the author of You Disrupted: Seizing the Life You Want by Shaking, Breaking, and Challenging Everything, says that its pretty common for fitness-minded people to use their mornings to take care of their health. And really, mornings may be the only time for people like me (who have to force themselves to work out) to make it happen. If you have a busy family, the early morning is often the only quiet time in the house for you to take care of you without distractions, he says. The rest of the day and evening is usually jam-packed with family time and errands, and it is way too easy to put exercise off. But most people dont face these challenges when they work out first thing. How to Wake Up Early When You Dont Want to While I never like the sound of an alarm clock and especially not at 5:55 a.m. Ive gotten used to hopping out of bed without hitting the snooze button once. Im a coffee junkie, so I just set my coffee maker to start brewing early and remind myself that a warm cup of my favorite beverage is waiting for me downstairs. That may not work for everyone, but it does work for me. Mitchem says that if youre struggling to wake up early, you can start small and set the alarm clock back slowly over time. For example, you could start by waking up just 15 minutes earlier for a few weeks. From there, you could set your alarm back another 15 minutes slowly until youre getting up at the exact hour you desire. Also remember that you dont have to wake up at 4 a.m., like some CEOs do, to have more free time. A schedule of waking up just 15 minutes earlier each day, for example, will gain you over an hour in just the first week without wrecking your life in the process, said Mitchem. Bacon also says that, if youre someone whos always struggling to get out of bed until the last minute, you may need to focus on reorganizing your life so you can go to bed earlier. Getting up early starts the night before, she says. You need to consciously choose to go to bed early enough that you feel good about getting up early. That might mean cutting yourThe Walking Deadbinge off earlier than normal or getting in bed and turning off the lights instead of scrolling Facebook on your phone. It may also mean going to bed even if other members of your household are awake, which isnt always easy. You may even need to let yourself be exhausted for a while to give your body time to reset to a new sleeping schedule. If you get up early several days in a row, for example, it should start getting easier to go to bed at a decent hour. The Bottom Line If you wish you had more time and cant seem to meet your goals, getting out of bed earlier might be exactly what you need. Whether you dial back the alarm 15 minutes or an hour, that extra time could help you have the time to accomplish simple tasks, take better care of your health, or simply relax and enjoy some peace and quiet for once. But, dont take my word for it. Try getting up an hour earlier for a week to see how it feels. Schlepping out of bed at the crack of dawn may not be easy, but you may find that its worth it. E-X-P-O-S-E-D.
Success is defined as “The accomplishment of an aim or purpose.” (https://en.oxforddictionaries.com/definition/success). So far in these 4 weeks these ‘successes’ have been few and far between. I am pretty hard on myself and have certain expectations and standards to meet and so when I fall short (majority of the time) it is sometimes hard to accept. But as previously mentioned in weeks one blog that falling short in success only enhances ones learning experience.
I will however give credit where due as I believe my handling skills are by far my greatest strength. My ability to build a rapport and firm foundation with my client and everyone else around me is something I consider a great success. I mean, it really isn't easy going into a setting and atmosphere like the one Im in, where SO MANY peoples opinion and time matters that it becomes imperative, to put it lightly, that they ‘like you’ and you need to stay ‘on their good side.’ Another success (debatable) is my ability to learn from the interdisciplinary team around me, my supervisor and fellow friends. I do feel (maybe Im vain?) that I show and express a willingness to learn and improve and at least, maybe, a little initiative (could be improved). Sifting and sorting through the weeks for the positives is nearly impossible to do , as personally I find it difficult to give myself credit or praise for anything and so for now, I’ll allow myself to indulge in two positives, which will have to do for now.
Failure is defined as “Lack of success.” (https://en.oxforddictionaries.com/definition/failure) That definition provides little clarity on exactly whats classified as what. Failures happen all the time, everyday, in every instance however learning from them sometimes takes days, months or years. One of my weekly failures include time management that proves elusive nearly every week. That then usually results in confusion, a lack of productivity and an unclear plan for the next session. SO MANY FAILURES in that one sentence (gulp). Admittedly so, my treatment sessions generally work out well however there are a few that fall short = pointless = untherapeutic = FAILURE. Obviously its heart-breaking BUT sometimes its not the entire session thats worthless but rather the focus or principles that can be adjusted to rescue the session. Due to the change from assessment to treatment i’m finding it challenging to assess quickly ( screen) AND make the assessments comprehensive, thorough and true in order to create truly beneficial treatment sessions.
My greatest success is my ability to recognise my failures and not shy away from them (NO PLACE TO HIDE) as being exposed is revealing yet gives a person a chance to live again.
WEEK 4 : Tuesday fourteenth March twenty seventeen.
My final session with my client , Mr KM. He was getting discharged on Thursday and with our previous sessions leaving a lot to be desired I needed this final session to count. To mean something. To benefit him. Pressure, pressure, pressure. AHA - It came to me ( well, to my supervisor after discussing it with the client, but Its sometimes nice to take the credit). The client needed to be educated on how to change his own adult incontinence product (diaper) due to him going home alone ( client centred and all that) as well educate the client on the different bowel management options. I also threw in pressure care and insensate areas compensation ( A lot , I know.) Management of my client was key as due to him being largely uninterested in my previous sessions, I had finally found an activity he was excited and willing to do so I knew already half the battle was won - both patient and therapist on the same page (finally - YAY)
Selfishly when I realised I needed to teach my client how to change his diaper I first thought about myself. How I needed to research it. How I needed to practise the method. How I was going to feel showing a grown man such a intimate task. I felt as though I would be exposed. However I quickly came to the realisation that it was in fact my client that would feel vulnerable and exposed so what was I going on about. Honestly I stressed about how I would manage the client and his privacy as I predicted to teach him taking off his nappy while on the commode , washing and then placing his new on. However that changed as the client had already had the knowledge and experience in transferring onto the commode and removing his diaper- that wasn't the issue as I thought, it was the method of independently putting a diaper ON.  I had researched 2 methods - basically the same, however the one was in short sitting and the other in supine.
To my relief the client had immediately told me that for cultural reasons he will leave his pants on and that we will practise placing the diaper on top of it. I immediately felt lighter as I automatically became more comfortable ( I know its part of my job and all that). That helped my management and handling of the client as we were both more comfortable during the session. We tried the method in short sitting by placing the diaper set out on the bed and the plan was to transfer straight onto it, however that failed as , as the client transferred his diaper moved from under him and hence proved unsuccessful. PLAN B - SUPINE. Luckily my supervisor was with me to help, guide and correct me on each step as it was my first time learning it - never mind teaching someone else. Supine proved a better option until we hit a bump. The client was unable to successfully turn onto his sides due to the bed size and to adjust the diaper to sit correctly under the buttocks. So the method was right - but the space on the bed wasn't. CHANGE OF PLAN. We moved to the plinth in the OT department to allow for more space to turn. However just to be sure my supervisor and I quickly practised the method on me to ensure we knew it was successful and made Mr KM watch and observe as he was going to practise it afterwards. Mr KM got onto the plinth and using the method and key tips, the client was successfully able to put on his diaper independently  _ BY HIMSELF, after being told by the hospital that it was ‘impossible’ for him to do. SUCCESS.
Ugh. Principles. I say that with a sigh as it always provides me with the greatest challenge, and then to reflect on them. Structuring was implemented as I lowered his bed to get it the same height as the wheelchair, wheelchair at 90 degrees to the bed, the client will be in his room and in supine. However I didn't need to close the curtains around his bed as I anticipated, due to him keeping his pants on. I didn't realise the bed space would be too small to move from side to side and hence the inclusion of the plinth was ‘at the moment.’ The exact method also changed i.e. the client needed to cross his legs and turn to that side and vice versa in order to pull the diaper from under his buttocks as well support the body using his elbow while turned. The principles of the taking off the diaper and transferring to the commode became irrelevant as the client was already capable of doing it. An important principle that was learnt - was the positioning of the client is the key to the successful diaper change, i.e. lying in the middle of the bed to allow for enough space on either side and positioning the wheelchair next to the bed to ensure a safe transfer back is possible.
Handling proved to a success as the client was highly motivated to perform the activity and didn't really need encouragement or reinforcement during the activity.  I predicted more emotional handling than was necessary which was good as it indicates the confidence and independence level of the client. Presentation went exactly to plan. Verbal instructions as I predicted were not enough as demonstrations were necessary to completely gage the client and ensure maximum understanding. Cues and prompts were given to the client in order to guide him especially because it was his first attempt. Activity requirements were also satisfactory as it encouraged autonomy by allowing the client to try it himself , it was relevant and client centred ( getting discharged in 2 days and lives alone), improved his independence in changing his diaper and improved the clients confidence in re-intergrating back into the community after the bowel management discussion.
EXPOSED can be good or bad. Failures expose a person yet affords an opportunity to learn as well as to grow which will inevitably, eventually result in success.

email to my teacher (warning alot of personal stuff)
Hey so, sorry to email you out of nowhere like this? But i feel like maybe im finally at a point where i can explain more thoroughly why im having trouble with school or just succeeding in general. I think its really important that i tell you some of this junk because theres a chance it might make the rest of the year easier for you and me.
I wanted to start off with apologizing for all the trouble ive caused you throughout the year with the annoying comments, disruptions and backtalk.  And most of all the terrible ability i have with doing and turning in work.
This email is mostly to explain my situation and reasoning for acting/struggling the way i have been (not to annoy you or be sarcastic).
Alright so, if you havent noticed i struggle with some things and one of them i never really bring up is ptsd. I have been diagnosed and im hoping to enlighten you on my specific issues with it, (everything i mention will apply to me as to make it less confusing from here on)
I have a specific type of ptsd called Complex post-traumatic stress disorder (C-PTSD; also known as complex trauma) This type of ptsd is different in that it results from repetitive, prolonged trauma. My causes for being diagnosed are specifically natural-detachment from my mother and physical/sexual abuse growing up and some other things im not going to mention.
My side effects from this are,
Attachment – "problems with relationship boundaries, lack of trust, social isolation, difficulty perceiving and responding to other's emotional states, and lack of empathy"
This is strongly linked to my reactive attachment disorder and explains alot to why i am the way i am. Heres a link to a website http://www.webmd.com/mental-health/mental-health-reactive-attachment-disorder#1 that explains a bit of what it is so that i do not have to make this already long email that much longer, i would also really appreciate it if you read even just a little.
I have an extreme lack of trust in others and am constantly doubting myself, there is not a second of the day where i dont think im a horrible person, i could be doing better, im disgusting to look at ect. The social isolation is a big problem for me, because im “this way” i feel that bothering others with my presence/problems/medical difficulties ect. is not necessary and for the better. Hence why i refrain from asking when i really need help, im scared to bother you. I dont want to make you angry and i know you and mrs mumford are already so stressed by the time my bell starts.
Biology – "sensory-motor developmental dysfunction, sensory-integration difficulties, somatization, and increased medical problems"
This ties into my Fibromyalgia and eds which ill explain more about after i go through ptsd. Its all kind of one big mixed bag of disorders that tie together and make me the way i am.
Affect or emotional regulation – "poor affect regulation, difficulty identifying and expressing emotions and internal states, and difficulties communicating needs, wants, and wishes"
Like i talked about before i feel extremely useless and annoying when asking for help or even talking about the things i enjoy. And when trying to explain my difficulties i stop midsentence or forget words/forget what my problem is and it becomes frustrating.
Dissociation – "amnesia, depersonalization, discrete states of consciousness with discrete memories, affect, and functioning, and impaired memory for state-based events"
THIS is what i blame for never being able to remember anything. With fibromyalgia i have whats called “brain fog” and with the constant dream like state im in because of dissociation it makes my memory absolutely terrible. Remembering your names in class took me until almost 3rd quarter and it was utterly embarrassing(i still forget sometimes), its even more embarrassing when i forget basic buttons on the calculator and have to ask in front of everyone looking like an idiot.Or when i try to shout out an answer in class and it comes out gibberish because my mind is everywhere all at once, Or when we have a test on the formula we learned a week ago, and of course my mind draws a blank. I cant remember, and it makes me so frustrated with myself that i want to break down right there in class. It renders me doing weird things too, like the other day i put the icecream in the bread drawer, and on sunday i woke up and got ready for school. Theres alot of other things i could say but its as if fibro is laughing in my face.
Dissociation in my own words is feeling like nothing is real, things dont feel like they happened. What does feel real is the pain/feeling in my body, i am a very anxious and jumpy person so im very sensitive to loud sounds/touch/weather and certain (triggering)  talk among students. And yet i still feel in a daze,My vision will sometimes blur and i am very prone to falling/accidents, staying focused can be extremely frustrating because my brain feels like a cloud, its almost uncontrollable like a dream. I dont think anyone can control those very much so i think its a good example.
Behavioural control – "problems with impulse control, aggression, pathological self-soothing, and sleep problems"
Im pretty okay with impulses, i of course have alot of very impulsive thoughts but i am good at controlling them id say, same with aggression but i very much so struggle with sleep problems because of nightmares from ptsd and chronic pain from fibro, i have not been diagnosed with insomnia but im sure i fit the criteria im just really bad at opening up with doctors/people ect.
These are just a couple more symptoms to help explain,
Cognition – "difficulty regulating attention, problems with a variety of "executive functions" such as planning, judgement, initiation, use of materials, and self-monitoring, difficulty processing new information, difficulty focusing and completing tasks, poor object constancy, problems with "cause-effect" thinking, and language developmental problems such as a gap between receptive and expressive communication abilities."
Self-concept – "fragmented and disconnected autobiographical narrative, disturbed body image, low self-esteem, excessive shame, and negative internal working models of self".
Alterations in relations with others, including isolation and withdrawal, persistent distrust, a repeated search for a rescuer, disruption in intimate relationships and repeated failures of self-protection.
Loss of, or changes in, one's system of meanings, which may include a loss of sustaining faith or a sense of hopelessness and despair.
Variations in consciousness, including forgetting traumatic events (i.e., psychogenic amnesia), reliving experiences (either in the form of intrusive PTSD symptoms or in ruminative preoccupation), or having episodes of dissociation.
Changes in self-perception, such as a chronic and pervasive sense of helplessness, paralysis of initiative, shame, guilt, self-blame, a sense of defilement or stigma, and a sense of being completely different from other human beings
Now that im done explaining the ptsd, Fibromyalgia
Fibromyalgia is a chronic pain disorder that my doctor believes to be linked to my other disorders, Fibromyalgia has to do with the senses we as humans all have, feeling, hearing, taste, and sight. The difference between someone with fibro and an average healthy person is lets say theres a knob for how strong each of these senses are, so imagine someone taking all those knobs and turning them all the way up to max sensitivity. Youd think oh cool youre like a super hero (like my sister likes to say) but no its the exact opposite, it does not benefit me whatsoever. Feeling, paired with ehlers danlos syndrome both my joints and my muscles are constantly in pain and some days ill have what you call a “flare up” which is where getting out of bed usually isnt an option for my body, i cannot remember the last time i didnt feel at least a dull ache in my head, i get migraines at least once everyday and unfortunately i get nauseous so i dont eat very much . Almost everything is irritating to my skin, a simple light rub of my finger on the top of my forearm is irritating and raw feeling (like ive been sitting there rubbing the same spot for hours) /Writing is over all painful, including typing as well/
If youve ever woken up in the morning with sore muscles from pushing yourself too hard the day before, that is how the muscles in my body feel, if you press on them they ache, and sting/burn when i use them. painful touch for most of my body paired with constant anxiety of getting bumped into/touched is stressful and tiring. On a good day my pain scale is a 5 from 1-10 but thats if im really lucky.
Then theres the weather, if im too hot and i start to sweat, the sweat stings my skin and i end up going into a frenzy of scratching and agony.  If its too cold my joints will start to lock up and become painful, its like they freeze and when i move them it feels like im shattering ice in my hand mixed with dull muscle ache. If its a good temperature theres still the feeling and i swear, the sound i can hear of my joints grinding together like two pieces of rubber being rubbed against eachother slowly.
Hearing is also bad, loud sounds are very irritating to my ears and will cause my migraine to get worse.(Talking too loud)Other irritating sounds, paper rubbing against paper roughly making that blblblb sound, high pitched noises of any loudness, squeaks, repetitive beeps ect.
Sight wise turning on lights abruptly is painful and makes my migraine worse, any bright light in general.
Taste doesnt really matter so i wont mention, but because these knobs are turned full blast it means the nerves and pain receptors in my body are being over worked constantly by my brain
And my brain thinks its doing its job by constantly acting like ive been running triathalons.
The recollection of pain comes in avalanches of distress for me. I usually experience the intense turmoil of fibromyalgia in the winter, or whenever cold fronts shatter the air and its frail victims. My limbs cannot contain the strength possible to function during those cold spells. Fibromyalgia’s lengthy sentence comes and goes for some, but, as a teenager, it’s disheartening. For the rest of my life, I will never be able to remember living without every waking moment marked by pain.
The abnormality of fibro weighs on my shoulders when I’m asleep, awake, or anywhere inbetween. I wake up at 4:30 each morning in order to be shuffling around by 6:20 a.m. The heaviness of my body pulls me down and pains me as I take a shower, put on my clothes, and put my small backpack on my shoulder to head out to school. Any sense of touch creates extreme levels of pain for me. Touching my arm, poking my leg, and brushing against my back hurt as much as twisting my ankle. My distraught reaction is a lot like a dog crying in pain and distrust after you accidentally step on its paw. Because im always in pain im always right next to the emotional breaking point, im always on the verge of tears. The smallest things can make me break down.
The pain prohibits me from being a teenager. Thanks to fibro, I cannot dress up in my favorite clothes and be what you call “Extra” everyday as i so much wish to be during the winter. My hands are crooked and shake too much usually to apply makeup. I struggle with applying eyeliner, because my hands hurt too much wrapped around a brush. The uncomfortable school chairs make me weep when I return home, because they destroy my concentration, forcing me to focus on the overwhelming pain I feel. I used to excel in school, but now, I can barely think fast enough, and come off as ditzy. I feel like I’m constantly struggling to maintain the fragments of my intelligence I lost due to fibro medication and fibromyalgia itself.
My GPA, became my ball and chain in school, rather than an accomplishment worth sharing. During the year, my schedule is dictated by the weather. Cold weather causes agonizing, excruciating pain that races down my spine and branches through my limbs. If a cold front passes, rain falls, snow falls, or temperatures drop, I freeze like the Tin Man, except there isn’t any oil to move my joints. The way I get sleep should be considered a torture method. Many people feel refreshed or renewed when they wake up after 8 hours, but I feel completely restless and exhausted. And thats if the nightmares from the PTSD dont interrupt. I toss and turn for hours in pain, because the pain signals interrupt the sleep cycle. I cry intensely whenever I think of sleep; school usually means a lack of sleep, but I am further deprived without choice. My biological system cannot allow me to rest, and continues to tense my muscles in a constant state of flight or fight.
With most schools starting at 8 a.m., my body struggles to run on 8 hours of sleep (which really feels like two). The exhaustion prevents me from hanging out with some of my closest friends. In the early stages of having fibromyalgia, I used to be able to do school clubs, hang out with my best friend, and go to cons with my friends often. Now, I spend my time huddled down, trying to make up for the nights of lost sleep. The lack of sleep and the endless pain contribute to extreme depression. And to keep my mood relatively happy i act like a goose in school with friends which doesnt do me good with teachers, I do it to not break down and let myself get too low around others because i know id regret embarrassing myself like that more than anything. The pain yearns for my thoughts to leap toward suicidal thoughts, and I was obsessed with death for years and still am. There was a time when I searched for ways to end my life, because nobody could help me and I couldn’t face living the rest of my life knowing that I’ll always be in pain. I still have these thoughts, and I believe I always will as long as I emit pain. Hence why i was in the hospital for a week recently, the hopelessness and embarrassment is dragging me down. The whole idea of having fibromyalgia embarrasses me. I’m embarrassed that I am constantly being called crippled, disabled, or chronically ill.Or worse not being noticed at all while struggling. I’m embarrassed that fibromyalgia makes me feel like I’m 67 instead of 16. I’m embarrassed that I will never be able to be an artsy beat poet like Patti Smith, or a rock ‘n’ roll guitarist like Keith Richards.
So i think thats as much as i can cover for you right now with my two of my biggest problems , im extremely exhausted and im not joking when i say my fingers feel like they are gonna fall off haha.
Im terribly sorry for how long this email is but i think i got most everything with these two topics in there, also dont feel obliged to reply to this, im already embarrassed i even wrote all this down (terribly).
Quick thing i would like to say before i end the email, with all respect i am not looking for sympathy in any way. I am simply stating the way i am  in hopes that if you understand itll make things less stressful for me and you. So dont feel like you have to do anything for me.
Thankyou for reading if you got this far, really. (btw forwarding this to Mrs. m******d is totally okay with me)

The proactive homeowner: How to stay on top of home improvement
Yesterday was an exciting day at the Rothwards household! After three weeks of demolition and construction, we installed our new hot tub. It took six men an hour of maneuvering before we managed to set the spa into placebut we did it. And we didnt break anything. Now its a matter of completing the decking and roofing, then Kim and I will be able to enjoy our remodeled outdoor oasis!
Tumblr media
Were eager for construction to be over. Since buying our English cottage last summer, weve poured tons of money and time into a variety of renovations. Its been a non-stop construction zone. You see, during the seventeen years the previous owners lived here, they performed very little maintenance and upkeep on the home and property. When we had the place inspected before purchase, the inspector raised a lot of concerns:
Tumblr media
The inspection report was so dire that Kim and I almost passed on the purchase. After we did decide to buy the place, I vowed that Id be a proactive homeowner. Instead of allowing things to fall into a state of disrepair, I wanted to fix everything that was broken and then stay on top of home improvement in the years to come. Today I want to share four specific actions Ive taken to try to be a proactive homeowner. Develop a Schedule for Regular Maintenance A great place to start with home improvement is to find (or create) a regular maintenance schedule. While youll definitely have projects specific to your own house (about which more in a moment), there are certain chores that ought to be done on a routine basis. Here in Oregon, for instance, gutters should be cleaned both at the start and the end of the rainy season (late October and late April). Spring is a good time to wash windows, inside and out. Its also time to clean and set up outdoor furniture. During the summer, I like to trim trees and shrubs back from the side of the house. Fall is a good time to inspect the attic and crawlspace. To create our maintenance schedule, I started with this home maintenance checklist [Google Doc] based on an article from The Art of Manliness. I tweaked the document to fit our needs, adding and removing things specific to our home. Ive also discovered that its useful to add certain recurring tasks to my digital calendar. (Im never going to remember to change the furnace filter unless I make an appointment with myself to do so.) Create a House-Specific To-Do List
Tumblr media
While its helpful to have a general maintenance schedule to remind you of regular tasks, its even more important to keep an up-to-date to-do list thats specific to your home. I keep our to-do list in Basecamp, a web-based project-management tool that I already use for other projects. (Ive heard good things about Asana too, although Ive never used it.) You might keep your to-do list in a spreadsheet or even a spiral notebook. For each room in the house and area of the property, I keep a separate list of tasks that need to be completed. To start, I populated these lists in two ways: I went through the pre-purchase inspection report and added every problem the inspector had flagged. Some of the stuff he noted was minor. In these cases, I made sure to mark the task as low priority.Kim and I made a slow tour of our home and yard in order to catalog other projects we wanted to complete. For example, every room in the house needs new paint. Every corner of the yard needs to be weeded and re-landscaped. We refer to our to-do list constantly. Whenever we have a free weekend for home maintenance (as we did last weekendand this coming weekend), we check the list to see which tasks are most pressing and/or most appealing. Finally and this is important (if somewhat obvious) whenever we find a new project that needs to be tackled, we add it to our list. By keeping our home projects to-do list up to date, needed maintenance should never be neglected. Keep a Home Journal Before we even moved in to our current home, I started keeping a home journal to log everything we learned about the place. Honestly, its one of the smartest things Ive ever done. I keep this home journal in a Microsoft Word document. (Ive uploaded an edited version to Google Docs for you all to look at.) Every time we do major work on the house, I make an entry in the journal. Every time we discover something new about the property, I make a note in the journal. Heres a typical entry from my home journal:
Tumblr media
Each note includes a date and the type of work done, then a narrative description giving more detail. In some cases, I document costs. Most of the time, however, we keep receipts and invoices and other documentation in a dedicated Dropbox folder, which is where the home journal lives too. This journal is mostly meant for me. From past experience, I know that Ill forget what work we did when, which usually leads to a frustrating search for documentation. With my home journal, I have all of the needed info in one place. This home journal has a secondary purpose. I want to use it as documentation if/when Kim and I decide to sell this place. I want to be able to show prospective buyers all of the upgrades we made to the house. (Note that this benefit is purely theoretical. When we sold our motorhome recently, we learned that many buyers view work like this as evidence theres something wrong with what youre selling.) On a similar note, its smart to perform periodic video tours of your home and property. These are useful not only for you but also in the event of an insured loss, such as robbery or house fire. When shopping for a house, I film every home I tour. After buying and moving into a new place, I do another pass through with the camera. Going forward, I try to do a video tour about once per year. Build a List of Trusted Contractors Over the past fifteen years, Ive learned that contractors come in all kinds of flavors. Some are cheap. Some are fast. Some do quality work. Ive also learned that its impossible to find a contractor that possesses all three traits. Two of them? Sure. But not all three. (In other words, if a contractor is fast and high-quality, shes going to be expensive.) When we started looking for homes last Spring, my friend Emma Pattee who has experience buying and remodeling rental properties suggested that I start a spreadsheet to list trusted contractors. My husband and I have done this for a while now, she told me, and it really helps. When we find somebody we like to work with (or think we might want to work with in the future), we add them to the spreadsheet. Ill send you our current list, if youd like. Kim and I have referenced Emmas spreadsheet to find plumbers and electricians. Weve also started building our own list of contractors we trust. (For instance, we love the guy who did our carport. We hired him to do our back deck project too. Hes not cheap, but his quality is amazing!) Even with a list of trusted contractors, its important to follow standard advice when hiring folks to work on your place: Get price quotes from multiple sources. Its smart to know what your options are even if you ultimately dont go with the lowest bidder.Seek referrals. When youre ready to hire somebody for a project, ask your friends (Facebook is good for this) and contractors youve liked in the past. Ive found that good contractors know who the other good contractors are, and theyre happy to recommend them.Ask for references. If you havent worked with a contractor before, request contact info from past clients. These references will be cherry picked, of course, but theyll still give you some idea of what the company is like.Check reviews on Angies List (or similar sites). View these reviews through skeptical eyes, but check to see if theres some sort of pattern. Ive been able to rule out potential contractors, for instance, because of multiple reviews complaining about lack of communication. Searching for new contractors can be a little scary. You dont want to make a mistake by choosing somebody whos too expensive or whose work is shoddy. (Or, worse, both at once!) By maintaining a list of trusted vendors, you can reduce some of the trepidation. Plus, the list is something useful you can share with friends and family! Theres No Place Like Home I also think its smart to set aside money for future repairs and improvements. One common financial rule of thumb is to contribute 1% of your homes value to a dedicated home maintenance savings account each year. After Kim and I are done with this initial round of work, well probably do so. The deck and hot tub project should be our final large home-improvement expense for many, many years. During the past eleven months, weve repaired and/or replaced every major system in this house. Sure, theres still some small stuff that needs done we want to paint each room, for instance but these jobs are minor. Theyre things we can do ourselves for cheap. Honestly, Im looking forward to some peace and quiet. Its been exhausting to live and work in a construction zone! First, though, Im going to have our house inspected again. After plowing so many resources into repairing and renovating this place, I want to have a neutral third party go back through to make sure weve addressed all of the important issues and that these issues have been handled correctly. As frustrating (and expensive) as the past year has been, we dont regret buying this house. We love it here. We want to continue loving this place, which means were going to do our best to stay on top of maintenance and home improvements. Were going to do our best to be proactive homeowners. https://www.getrichslowly.org/home-improvement/
