I’d be glad to find some- the long fluff fics are sometimes hard to come by, what with all the angst that gets thrown in as well, but one that really grabbed me by the neck and healed me recently was Merlin myrddin the muralist by deanpendragon. It’s 63k so not all that long, but it’s one I really loved so I definitely recommend. It does deal with some heavy topics so it’s not totally lighthearted but the way that they come together was sosoosso lovely, and I love how different these two are yet they keep finding their way to each other. just a fic full of love and healing in its most pure form.

I’ll recommend two others that I go back to time and time again- my really long (and also very popular so I apologize if you’ve read these) feel good fics. These are We are all Diamonds and then Evil Overlord Inc. both by Footloose. Evil overlord is a bit more on the silly side with good action while we are all diamonds is a lot of merthur finding their ground within their bond.

Feel free to ask for other recs if none of these seem to fit the bill!! I love dishing out recs and if I had more time rn I’d scour my lists more deeply but for now I offer these 🤲🏻🤲🏻

okay I'm having. More thoughts. About that 'Enji gets isekaied into atla' thing.

So like. Random notes on things. (also I should go back and tag this but not rn)

To keep him from totally uprooting things outright, Enji actually hasn't watched ATLA. He knows some things. Like the basic premises of the show. Bending, the Avatar, the fact that the Fire Nation are the antagonists, etc. But he doesn't know any major plot points so he has to like. Discover on his own what's going on with the Fire Royals instead of just decking Ozai on sight.

Enji at least at first tries explaining that he's not a Spirit. But he's too Weird™ so everyone's like 'uh-huh sure'. Now there is /some/ debate as a few people think he's less of a pure Spirit and more like. A Fire/Sun-Spirit version of what Yue was. Someone very blessed by the Spirits and holds their Life Force even if they seem to be separate beings at the moment(I doubt Yue was the first so it may be legend as a whole). He still gets revered though because clearly the Spirits don't choose just anyone.

Timeline wise: On the bnha side this is barely post-canon!CC(so like after Canon, but haven't really had a lot of time to fix everything). In atla this happens like. Sometime after Book 2 but before the mid-season of Book 3. Aka: When Zuko is back home.

This is like. Kinda gross but it popped into my head and given the cut plotline I could see it but ANYWAY. When Ozai asks Azula to be the one to attend to 'The Spirit', Enji is getting so many red flags because last time some wealthy and powerful asshole sent his daughter to care for his whims in the hopes he'll lend favor, Enji got a wife out of it and Azula is literally a baby. (obvs he doesn't do anything weird but he's like 'wow kinda pissed that you're cool with the idea that I could do something weird')

The only people who realize that Enji isn't a Spirit are Iroh and Aang because they know Spirit Nonsense. As soon as they call him out on it, Enji's just like 'oh thank fuck someone sane!!!'

Enji accidentally calls Zuko 'Shoto' once and they ask about it and he explains that Zuko and Azula remind him of his kids, especially the Zuko=Shoto thing because they have similar scars. Zuko and Azula hesitantly ask 'what did he do to deserve that?' and Enji's like "?????? Nothing???? It wasn't- People don't deserve that what the fuck???? Especially a child doesn't??? I might not have been the /best/ father but holy shit I'd never purposefully cause a horrific and traumatic injury to a child no matter what they did????"(Zuko and Azula are suspiciously quiet and Enji doesn't like that)

anon again. i'm sorry that i keep coming to you with this depressing messages but you seem like one of the few sane ppl in this fandom and i appreciate your honesty.

truth is im feeling really disillusioned with hellcheer lately. we don't have a lot of "canon" content so after a while, it gets tiring going thru the same 2 scenes over and over again (especially when one of them involves chrissy's death). ive been relying on fandom but it seems like it's slowed down. fics arent updated as frequently, not a lot of new artwork.

heck, even joe and grace have moved on. joe's career is taking off. grace is leaving acting. it just feels like everything that happened last summer has come to an end :(

Unfortunately its the way things go, especially with small ships, especially especially in a fandom as hostile as this one is. People come together and build community and share their love for characters and then g(r)o(w) their separate ways again.

But not everybody does! You and me, for example. And ive got plenty of hellcheer mutuals that seem perfectly content to draw, write, and rb their little hearts out.

I for one am absolutely astounded that theres even a fandom for hellcheer, let alone one with such talent and breadth and depth of love! Our characters had 2 scenes. Our girl was killed just as it all began. Our boy died with her name on his lips. In all likelihood we will never see them together on our screens again.

But somehow. Those ~10 minutes managed to foster an entire community of people and keep us engaged and in love w the characters for almost a year at this point! With no dangling promises or false hope or anything! Like we all know the score and we still go hard for hellcheer. Incredible.

Idk maybe it's just bc ive only had brainworms like this for 2 other ships and 1 of them is even smaller and the other one is a clusterfuck of unimaginable proportions, so im a little biased in terms of community/fandom, but im just like... idk. I think its really incredible thats all. And a testament to the very real power and truth of hellcheer 🥰

All i can say anon is that the best way to keep a fandom/ship going is engagement. Likes on tumblr and kudos on ao3 are great. But whats even better and more motivating (and i say this as a fic writer/meme shitposter so im speaking the total truth lol) is reblogs and comments. Tell people how much you love their work and how much it means to you, it goes a very long way. And on the flip side of that - stay out of the infighting. All it does is sap your mental energy and the fandom infighting bullshit is a major contributor to why people leave. The negativity and bitterness warp your perspective and make it really hard to remember what we're here for - it's not anti-st*ddie or anti-qu*nn stans or anti-anti-hellcheer or what the fuck ever. We're here for hellcheer!

He deserves all the applause cause honestly, the situation isn't exactly on his side but he stood up for himself and for others in the future, too.

His usual Diasomnia uniform had been tossed carelessly on the floor, though it seemed he didn’t bother taking off his black knee-high socks. Instead, he wore a sky-blue sweater that seemed far too big for him. The sleeves swallowed his arms and went past his hands, and the shoulder of the sweater had slipped down his arm. He was wearing one of their sweaters, (Name) realised in the back of their mind. His face was flushed, and if (Name) looked closely, the fae was trembling with anticipation. 

However, it was Lilia’s eyes that caught them off-guard the most. They could see the love, adoration, and infatuation he had for them, but most prominently of all, they saw a fervorous, intense lust swimming in his deep red eyes. 

Ah. So this was why Lilia made Sebek call them here.

(Name) blinked, staring at Lilia’s reddened face, and before they could stop themselves, their eyes trailed down from his face, to their sweater, until they landed on his legs. Though the socks covered most of his legs, his pale thighs were still exposed, the lime green candlelight highlighting the smoothness of his skin. When they looked closely, they could see the creamy-white evidence of his... exhilaration slowly dribbling down his slender thighs.

just finished the trailblaze mission the other day and immediately went to your blog bc i knew you'd be sane about it 😭 absolutely baffling to me but somehow not surprising that no one seems to care about the mystery like???? there's so much weird shit going on and such interesting pieces of lore about memoria and different factions and how they interact in this absolutely huge universe??? i also loved firefly i'm so sad that people don't seem to care much abt her :( she was so sweet and the fact that they touched on chronic illness w her character and her using the dreamscape as a way to escape from that reality... this patch was so so good in so many ways and i'd love to hear your thoughts if u have any!! :) (also the MUSIC???? if i can stop one heart from breaking had me in actual tears)

I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE FIREFLY i got another anon asking for my thoughts about what happened to her and i'm still kind of wrapping my head around. That. so i'll save all that for later! she's definitely a new favorite of mine, though. we didn't get to spend too much time with her but like yeah she won my heart pretty immediately. she was so... genuine? sure she hid a lot, but she didn't seem like she wanted to. it was more like she had to. not for her own sake, but for stelle's

that was the other thing that really got me! the bond she formed with stelle. like oh my god. they CONNECTED... stelle ADORES her. they felt so comfortable in each other's presence despite the wall firefly had to keep up... stelle picked up on the thing i just mentioned above: that firefly wasn't entirely honest not to give herself an advantage in the game of penacony (like aventurine and, to a degree, black swan) but to keep stelle safe in the midst of it. and it was for this reason that stelle chose to trust her. and to offer her genuine friendship in return

the entire sequence of exploring golden hour and then dream's edge with her was sooooo nice. it just made my heart feel at ease. and also yes if i could stop one heart from breaking is BEAUTIFUL and i want it on spotify rn. so i can loop it for 58347685673453485734 hours

my thoughts about the mystery on penacony as a whole are like. well:

the key to what caused firefly (... ?) and robin's deaths lies with misha and a child's dream

not saying that in the way some other hsr fans are and theorizing that misha's evil, btw. i really doubt that. this comes off more as a ... ralsei deltarune situation. two genuinely sweet kids who just want to go on adventures and live their lives but got mixed up in the fucked up inner workings of the worlds they live in

misha's grandpa is obviously a nameless and i'm 75% sure he's also the watchmaker (i say 75% because someone - a random npc, maybe firefly, or someone else, i really don't remember whose mouth it came out of - says that clockie was designed in the watchmaker's likeness and i don't think misha's grandpa is a talking clock . so. um. ...)

clockie is going to be a bigger part of the plot than he is now and there's totally going to be something fucked up underneath the cartoony exterior

aventurine stresses that we can't trust acheron because she's an emanator, but an emanator of who, i wonder...? her connection to the dream world, her memory problems, and the way some of her dialogue varies from player to player (INSANELY COOL TOUCH BTW) makes me want to say fuli. or possibly... IX. mythus? i guess lan and nanook are possibilities but i kind of really really really really doubt that

idk like i mentioned in the tags on a different ask i gotta properly explore penacony and read all the things i've picked up that i ignored in favor of finishing the trailblaze mission! and do the 53873453465786837 side quests i got from tinkering with people's emotions. Help. it'll probably help me theorize more! lots of little clues and foreshadowing strewn throughout the game's text, hehe...

i've REALLY enjoyed this update though. definitely sunk my brain even further into the hsr interest than it was before. penacony's cast is really dynamic and interesting (firefly, misha, and acheron are my faves here). also, the dreamscape pass is such a clever feature. really makes you feel like a tourist AND it's got lots of little morsels of lore inside. love it. uhg. i can't wait for the next big update i'm going to explode

Ma'am if there's one thing about me it's that I have crippling financial anxiety (not a good time to be me in this economy).

He is a bit insane and I would totally let it slide. I feel like I'm very toxic in my descriptions of men when bad stuff happens (we're choosing not to unpack that rn). But also, i feel like CEOs are often hot-tempered--based on my extensive research of reading other CEO fanfic and anything I've seen on TV--but naturally he's a big ol' softie for her.

I think she'll find a solution in the next extra ;) (or tbh, my intention was to just totally forget the context of this extra and write the next one)
