I know Ken is notorious for his, um, odd creation habits, but even I’m shocked that it’s been over 10 years of work and THIS is all he has to show for it. I would maybe be a bit more lenient if each new page was hyper detailed or something like that, but as you pointed out in your review, he reused the same images across plenty of panels and so many of his backgrounds are just stock photos. The only way I can reconcile this to myself is wondering if maybe a bunch of that time was eaten up by extensive rewrites to his plans for the whole series, but even then, I’ll be even more shocked if the next volume ever comes out.
So I didn't get into this in the review because I really just wanted to focus on the book and the weird copyright situation that led to its creation, not Ken's personal life or his other endeavors, but he did make something else in the time since The Lara-Su Chronicles' announcement 13 years ago. That being his independent film: The Republic. Because after he left Archie Ken figured he'd move on to a career in Hollywood.
I think this was originally supposed to be a TV show, the pilot episode for which was released in 2010, but then in 2016 he decided to retool it as a commentary on Trump's immigration policies. I think the movie is still somehow not out despite being shot a few years ago, but he put out a trailer here:
youtube
Yes, the trailer really opens with 30 seconds of footage of Trump from CNN. I know writers who use subtext and they're all cowards etc. etc.
At least the cast is clearly trying their best in spite of the material. It's not Birdemic bad. And yes, that's Sean Young. THE Sean Young! Rachael from Blade Runner! I guess Ken's really eager to flex the fact that he's friends with a couple lower-level Hollywood producers.
Anyway, I think he's still looking for a distributor for this. It's truly a mystery why no one was eager to pick this up.
Ken's also said some stuff about how he waited years to put out TLSC: Beginnings as part of the 4D chess game he's playing with the copyright stuff. He has a general idea of what he can do based on the terms of the settlement, but he's eager to push it as far as he can. He tested the waters with things like a few small pieces of TLSC merch and an NFT announcement, to see if Sega would take legal action. In particular, the announcement that he was going to sell an NFT of Shade from Sonic Chronicles was a stunt designed to see if Sega would challenge his claim that Shade is legally the same character as Julie-Su. Since they haven't gone after him, and now it's been a few years, he's taking that as evidence that Sega isn't actively exercising those copyrights and isn't going to fight for this stuff.
There's some logic here. Part of the reason Dan DeCarlo lost his battle with Archie over the rights to Josie and the Pussycats is that he didn't take action against them sooner for making merch and whatnot. It's "use it or lose it" with copyrights. But it mostly just comes off as an excuse. If it was purely a waiting game and he had all this extra time, why did he need to recycle art so much in Beginnings? Why is he only releasing 30 new pages of material instead of a whole graphic novel? Where's the app? Why didn't he spellcheck the damn book?

Why Build Your personal Reptile Cage?
When I initially started my interest in reptiles I was just young. At that stage of my life I had little or no skills and did not recognize the demands of the remarkable creatures so I did not keep them properly. We just maintained the neighborhood reptiles, so the cage temperature was not a problem. For more info please click this url.
I rekindled my desire later on in life yet I also had mortgages, the expense of raising a household and also the day-to-day expenses of living to emulate. A reptile was pricey sufficient, without including the prices of retail cages and devices. So I developed my very own. It conserved me a great deal of money.
You do require some standard devices however the cash you conserve by making it on your own will allow you to buy several of those tools that assist make the cage. The remainder can go into accessories so that for the price of a standard cage with absolutely nothing else you could make a cage, get some devices and also the cage devices as well as still have cash left over. That's a large difference.
Lots of people have materials concerning the house. If you are mosting likely to make your very own cages you can conserve a lot more money by using little bits as well as items or timber you may currently have, screws, old glass, hinges, light battens etc. that you currently have in the cellar or garage.
When upgrading one of my cages recently, I had the ability to reuse some of the materials as well as the installations for use on the brand-new cage. This saved me having to purchase brand-new devices and materials.
One more advantage is the capability to maintain your own cages. Many of the plastic or moulded cages can not be fixed as soon as they are damaged. With a cage you made yourself you could typically repair busted locks or replace doors (I haven't had to do any of these yet as they are extremely durable).
When you build your very own cages you choose how solid it will certainly be and exactly what top quality of fitting, glues and products you will be utilizing. The greater the top quality of products and also accessories you make use of, the much better the last cage product. You are not at the mercy of suppliers saving money by utilizing substandard products as well as poor quality fittings.
An additional advantage is the capacity to tailor-make you cages to suit your function. One of my earliest cages was built as a regular cage but by putting a removable divider in the center it permitted me to re-use the cage when I delivered among the serpents out. This divider was fitted over the middle of a warmth floor covering, allowing for two reptiles to be housed in the cage. It additionally had 2 doors. The cage is currently utilized for another purpose yet will certainly soon be empty. The divider panel can still be positioned back in the cage for another tiny serpent and after that just gotten rid of as the snake obtains larger. Tis snake will lastly be relocated right into an arboreal cage. To buy a plastic cage with divider panel that will only be a short-term cage before the snake goes into a last cage is a pricey exercise.

How to wash a car like a pro
A clean car is a happy car. That applies to the inside and outside of your car. You want your car to be happy, right?
The idea of cleaning your car may be an unpleasant one, but for some (raises hand), it’s a therapeutic exercise and an outlet for one’s obsessive nature. Whether you love it or hate it, the hardest part about cleaning your car is getting up and doing it.
Cleaning the exterior of your vehicle has a wide range of benefits, from increasing resale value to prolonging the life of your vehicle. Did I mention it makes your car happier?
A few hours, or less if you are efficient, with the right equipment and processes can result in a shiny, happy vehicle. From more than 25 years of cleaning vehicles (and boats) along with six years of professional detailing experience, here are my recommended steps to properly clean your vehicle. Pedantic OCD Feder sold separately, some exclusions apply.
The following steps are the best way to ensure your vehicle’s paint is clean, protected, and doesn’t get marred or scratched while being washed. It’s far superior to taking your vehicle through an automated touch car wash where the paint will be scratched, swirled, and marred by the dirt on the brushes (sometimes not even cloth, but plastic) from the previous lineup of vehicles.
How to wash a car like a pro
Precautions
Like I tell my kids, safety first. Any time you touch your paint, no matter what, you risk scratching it. We want to minimize the risk.
Take off every single piece of jewelry before starting. Yes, that includes your wedding ring. No, it doesn’t matter if your wedding ring is made of rubber or moon stones: no jewelry. Belts with buckles are a hazard, but if your shirt covers the buckle, it can be acceptable.

Organize/prep
Make sure your work area is prepped and everything is ready and in place, from the chemicals and towels to the buckets and hose. You don’t want water to dry on the vehicle, especially if it’s hard water, and risk etching the paint.
Pro tip: If you organize your garage and know where everything is by heart you can minimize the organization step down to simply getting the hose and buckets ready. Yes, buckets; you’ll need two.
You’ll need two 5-gallon buckets, one for soapy water and one as a dirty rinse bucket with a grit guard at the bottom, so the dirt won’t make it back onto the paint.
Pro tip: The 5-gallon buckets and grit guard can be bought for a few bucks at Menards or other home improvement stores. No need to pay an arm and a leg from detailing supply websites.
In some situations no running water is available, and while not ideal, that’s alright. AMMO and Griot’s Garage sell hand frothers that can be used with a hoseless wash solution. With these two products you’ll be able to safely wash the exterior of your vehicle without a hose and running water in a pinch. For those without access to a hose there’s also slick spray detailers that can be used as a lubricant with microfiber towels. Examples include Wizards Mist-N-Shine or Griot’s Garage’s spray-on car wash solutions.

Wheels
It’s smart to wash the wheels first with a wheel cleaner to avoid water drying on the paint. In my experience, products from AMMO, Wizard’s, Meguiar’s and Griot’s Garage do the best job without possibly ruining wheel finishes. Using a wheel brush––I like a foam brush with a removable microfiber sleeve so I can wash the sleeve for reuse––clean both the front face of the wheel and inside the wheel’s barrel. Make sure to clean the dirt, brake dust, and debris from the wheel brush after each wheel (or mid wheel depending on the level of dirt) in the dirty water bucket, then use the soapy water bucket to wet the wheel brush. Rinse each wheel after finishing.
Dump the water from the buckets and refill both (one just water and one soapy water) to wash the vehicle itself next.

Pre-clean
Remember, every time you touch your paint there’s a risk of scratching it as the dirt is moved. It’s essential to remove any and all large pieces of dirt and debris from the paint before touching it to minimize this risk.
Start by foaming the entire exterior of the vehicle with a foam gun or hand frother. This will allow the dirt to get wet and loosen from the surface. If the car is merely dusty or there is no running water available, use the hand frothers and hoseless wash solution as the wash itself. Skip right to the protect-and-finish step after wiping off the hoseless wash with a clean microfiber towel.
Most cars will need a full wash. I prefer using a pressure washer, though with a caveat. Don’t use a 0-degree tip as that could damage the paint; I use a 40-degree nozzle for a wide spray. Rinse the foam and any loose, large dirt, pieces of debris, and or dust from the paint.
How to wash a car like a pro
Wash
The car is now wet and all major dirt and debris is cleared from the paint. Time to wash. Using a microfiber wash mitt and extremely sudsy water from the soap bucket, clean the vehicle using a side-to-side motion, never circular motions, at the roof, then windshield, and then hood, working your way down. After each panel or half panel, depending on the panel size (roofs are large, hoods are large), put the mitt into the “dirty water bucket” with the grit guard and use your hand to agitate it to get all the remaining dirt off the mitt. Pull the mitt from the dirty water, squeeze all the remaining water off the mitt, then dunk the mitt into the soapy, sudsy bucket to get fresh water and suds on the mitt. Repeat the side-to-side wash motion on the next panel. Wash the vehicle from top to bottom, roof to lower sides, as vehicles are dirtiest at the lower third because that’s where dirt and debris are kicked up onto the paint.
Move quickly and efficiently so neither the water or soap dry on the paint. Ideally, you don’t want to wash it in the sun because it dries quicker and leaves damaging spots on the paint. But, washing your car in the sun is one of life’s great American cliches, so you do you, just do it efficiently. Sometimes it’s necessary to rinse each panel as you go to keep the car wet.
How to wash a car like a pro
Rinse
Once the entire car, including the wheels, has been washed, it’s time for a final rinse. Using the pressure washer make sure to rinse all the soap off the vehicle top to bottom.

Dry
An easy way to dry the vehicle is to use a leaf blower to get most of the water off the paint. For those without a leaf blower, it’s best to use soft, clean microfiber towels. A large “guzzler” towel that can absorb a lot of water makes the job quick and easy. If a full detail isn’t on the to do list after the wash, I recommend spraying a quick detailer. In my experience, Wizard’s and Griot’s Garage quick detailers seem to produce satisfying results while keeping things lubricated and protected as you dry the rest of the car.
Once most of the water has been dried off the vehicle it’s time to remove the hidden water. All the vehicle badging, door sills, gaskets, grilles, spoilers, and cladding retain water. Use a hand-held blower (Pro tip: You can tell your spouse you need one of these to help dry your pet after a bath, if you happen to have a pet, to justify the expense) to blow all the hidden water from every nook, cranny, and crevice around the vehicle. You’ll be surprised how much hidden water is retained that will later drip out from its hiding spots and leave etched water spots on your paint.

Protect and finish
It’s a good idea to give the exterior––and interior––glass its own dedicated cleaning to ensure a crystal clear, streak-free view. Use a clean microfiber towel (or high-end paper towel in a pinch, the cheap stuff leaves behind lint) with an ammonia-free glass cleaner such as Sprayaway Glass Cleaner or Stoner Glass Cleaner.
It’s also important to keep things clean under the hood, but don’t use a product that is going to attract dirt, such as Armor All. A plastics cleaner and conditioner from AMMO, Meguiar’s, Wizard’s, Griot’s Garage, or 303 will work well and keep the engine bay clean of debris and the plastics looking new.
To give the paint an extra level of protection from the elements, I recommend wiping it down again with a clean microfiber towel and spray detailer or wax. I have had positive results with products from Griot’s Garage, 303, Wizard’s, Meguiar’s, and AMMO.
How often your vehicle needs to be washed will vary depending on factors such as location, weather, and lifestyle, but a bi-weekly or monthly cleaning will keep your car clean and protected.
Now, go clean your car and make it happy.

Overbuilt: Pure Vision Design Builds a Better GTO
When you first see it, you think, “Now that right there is a really nice car…”
It’s a simple compliment, but one that means so much in the sea of over-customized offerings that we’re usually privy to.
You then stop for a moment, let your eyes refocus, and in doing so, begin to take in the amount of detail and care that’s gone into Pure Vision’s latest creation: a 1971 Pontiac GTO convertible. It was thankfully pulled from a field where it was left for dead, and upon doing a bit of research, was found to be one of only 653 drop-top GTO’s built for the ‘71 model year as well as being the last year for the convertible GTO – ever.
Pure Vision Design is located in Simi Valley, CA and has been producing beautifully reimagined muscle cars for more than twenty years. It’s headed by Ring Master Steve Strope whose calm exterior fools you into thinking that there’s not actually a full-blown circus happening inside his head. That’s why, when a client asks Steve for ideas in regards to a build, he puts on his top hat and gets all giddy. A man of principle, he never builds the same car twice, and when asked to do so he simply states, “Somebody paid a lot of money for version 1.0 and I’m not going to insult them by making 2.0 for somebody else. I’ll just design them their own car.”
Not only does this guarantee exclusivity for the client, but it also ensures that every vehicle that comes out of Pure Vision must stand on its own merit.
If you’re a fan of Steve’s work, then you know that almost every car that comes out of Pure Vision’s rollup door has a theme to it (see Martini Mustang or the Black Ops Fairlane). When it came to the GTO, however, the client had a request that was in no way theme based. He instead, wanted the build to be focused on daily usability- a moderate but not over-the-top blend of performance and comfort.
“The customer wanted to take it out on date night and cruise around with his girlfriend, thus the goal was to get in it, turn the key. drive it, and enjoy it. So, the parts and pieces that were ordered for this car follow in line to that mindset,” says Steve.
Okay, so what does that actually mean?
For starters it means turning the dial down from 11, to a more moderate 8. This in no way means that any less attention was given to the GTO, but instead, there was a re-focus of ideas that culminated into what is perhaps the best driving ’71 GTO convertible in existence.
Upon arrival to the shop, the GTO was bugged-bombed, stripped of its parts, and a new chassis was ordered from Schwartz Performance. The unit came complete with an AGR steering rack built to Schwartz’s own specific valving, JRi shocks, and a torsional rigidity that’s 200% stiffer than a stock A-Body frame. Pure Vision then reinforced it further to quell any additional body flex that may have occurred due to the GTO’s convertible configuration. Out back, a full-floater 9-inch with a 3.50 or so rear gear helps with motivation. Stopping is accomplished via a Wilwood braking system that employs two-piece rotors with beefy 4-piston calipers up front and smaller 4-piston units in the rear. The chassis itself is a beautiful piece and serves as the perfect underpinning for a car of this caliber.
The body is standard ‘71 GTO, which in reality, was a facelift year for the car. Changes included a beautiful wire-mesh grille, dual-snorkel hood and a revised lower front fascia with round marker lights. There were other slight changes incorporated as well, but for you non-GTO buffs, those are the most prevalent. Dismantling any old car is an exercise in patience, and the GTO was no exception. During our conversations, Steve mentioned that preserving all the trim and interior pieces was extremely important due to the rarity of the car, and unlike many of his other builds, reusing those parts was integral, as he wanted to keep the integrity of the car intact.
Once apart, extreme care was paid to the exterior body panels in regards to getting them straight along with making sure that every seam and body line matched perfectly. At this time, the inner wheel tubs were increased by 1-inch on each side to accommodate a 305-series rear tire. This modification required caution, as ample room was still required to allow for the convertible top to retract into the rear cowl.
Based on renderings done in conjunction with Eric Brockmeyer Design, Steve and the GTO’s owner determined that the car was to be painted Celine Bronze, a color Steve first viewed while doing some in-person research at a local Aston Martin dealership. It was then sent to Mick Jenkins of Pomona, CA who made sure the final paint and body was flawless.
Thankfully, Steve also believes in the philosophy that bigger is not always better, and as such he was careful when choosing his wheel and tire package. HRE RS101 wheels with a clear powder coat and dark bronze centers were chosen in sizes 18×9-inch for the front and 19×11-inch in the rear. Tires come in the form of sticky Pirelli P-Zero’s in sizes 255/40R-18, front and 305/35R-19, rear. Running a staggered stance gives the car just enough rake to look sinister, with the upper lips residing just inside the fender wells. Not only does this make for a spot-on stance, but there’s an air of built-in aggression that works beautifully with the overall design.
From the start, the GTO was to be focused around drivability, which is why selecting the correct power plant was of the utmost importance. To achieve this, Steve took full advantage of the millions of dollars spent by General Motors on R&D, and opted for a supercharged LSA crate engine and a 4L80e 4-speed overdrive transmission. These two items, combined with the factory computer, harness, and ancillary items such as the intercooler, intercooler pump, and the air intake system, all insured that reliability would be a non-issue. Well-built and well-designed components rarely fail.
When asked what he thought about the hot rodders of today utilizing modern technology Steve mentioned something that rang very true, “Most of the time, the OEM plug-n-play stuff is better than our aftermarket stuff. Why? It’s not because we’re stupid, it’s because that stuff is built together as a unit and they have millions and millions of dollars of R&D, so taking advantage of that when it works for your project is a great thing. Guys have been taking stuff from junkyards, redoing it, and putting it back on the street since at least the 1920’s and 30’s. Hot rodders have been stealing from what the OEMs made to make their junk go faster and look better, and as such, we hot rodders are some of the first recyclers of automotive components.”
When you break it down, his train of thought makes perfect sense. What lives under the hood of this GTO is essentially what’s powering a 2015 Cadillac CTS-V Coupe, and that my friends, is a very good thing.
Looking inside the car, the first thing you notice is that much like the exterior, the cabin of the GTO is not overly complicated. Instead it represents a beautiful combination of materials and forethought that brings the physicality of the interior up to the standard of a modern luxury coupe. The stock dash for instance was removed and recovered with beautiful chocolate brown leather with contrasting white stitching. Black-faced VHX gauges from Dakota Digital were then installed to cope with the new engine harness. And then, by keeping and refinishing the original knobs and bezels, Steve managed to keep the dash’s overall feel authentic without being over the top.
While the dash is beautifully crafted, it will be the treatment given to the seats and door panels that will set this build apart. With decades of experience, the team over at Gabe’s procured some buttery soft leather to be used for the seating surfaces, along with a stylish mesh that I’ve yet to see utilized in another build. Walking up to this car, top down, is a feast for the eyes and the attention given here helps the GTO come together in a wonderfully cohesive package.
I looked over this car for the better part of eight hours, examining just about every part of it. However, it was when Steve asked me if I wanted to drive it that truly got me excited. Climb in, turn the key, and the GTO fires to life in the same fashion as any modern vehicle. There’s no pumping of the pedal, no fumes, and absolutely no drama. The original Pontiac shifter feels perfect in the hand and dropping the car into gear is as simple as pressing down on the PMD button and sliding the stick back a few clicks.
For comparison, stock GM convertibles from the late 1960s and early 70’s were awful. Yes, they provided an enjoyable driving experience, but good wow did they squeak, rattle and flex! With the GTO, there was none of that. Closing the door was met with a solid “THUNK” and once underway, there wasn’t a hint of a squeak or rattle. In fact, driving the GTO at speed had me forgetting about how terrible these things were from the factory. This partly comes down to the door linings, additional sound deadening materials and obtaining great door latches and strikers, not to mention the ultra-rigid chassis. In the end though it comes down to a theme of quality that can be seen throughout the car. From the builder, to the body and interior shops, to the detailed inspection of every part used before they’re installed, the attention to detail here is something others should use as a benchmark.
Here was a classic convertible that let you have a conversation without raising your voice. It is composed and planted with the on-road confidence of a modern performance vehicle. There was brute force power when you wanted it, loads of brake when you needed it, and luxury that made you feel as if you were driving anything but a 1971 GTO. If there was a downside, it was only that the Goat drove so damn good that it made you forget you were piloting one of the coolest things on the road.
In the end, I’ll say this – if you’ve got the means for your dream car, then talking to Steve Strope at Pure Vision Design wouldn’t be a bad idea as this reimagined GTO is one of the few customs that exceeded every one of my expectations.

Journal 1 Week 2
Your first journal assignment is designed to get you thinking about topics that you may want to research for your final paper. For this journal entry:
List three sustainability topics of interest to you that you may consider for your research paper. Often students begin with topics that are much too broad for the context of an 8-10 page research paper or something they already know a lot about. Think about a narrow focus or particular angle on a topic for which you can write a persuasive essay, not just a literature summary. The three topics you choose to investigate here may be three unrelated ideas or three different possible approaches to the same topic. Remember that this should be something you are genuinely interested in and that will ADD to your expertise in sustainability, not be redundant to courses or material you've had.
For each, write a few sentences describing why you find that topic interesting. Now google each topic (think carefully about your search terms) and look for current news or reports of primary literature related to that topic. Try to get a brief overview of what is the most current debate, advance, problem, or proposed solution related to your three topics. What did you find? Was there any information that surprised you? After doing this exercise, do you find one of the topics more interesting than the others? If so, why?
1. Algae biofuels (ethics behind it, how it could be implemented more as an alternative fuel, incentives to get biofuels? Can help countries modernize if they do not have an oil reserve?)
https://www.energy.gov/eere/bioenergy/sustainability
The problem currently with algae biofuels focuses mainly on how to find the most efficient strand or type of algae that is the most efficient for transportation and energy costs. There is also more research being done on how water quality could be improved with the implementation of algae (farms). However, I believe there is some concern regarding algae fuels due to the amount of power major oil companies have in politics? Some dried out algae products are still not concentrated enough to be turned into fuels, meaning extra tech is needed to bring it to a concentration that is optimal for fuel consumption.
2. Microplastic bioaccumulation in our oceans (Pacific Garbage Patch? Maybe specify for Philippine beaches?). How to solve this issue -- hold companies accountable? Combo of top-down and bottom-up planning for pollution control and regulation? More tech to clean oceans without disrupting food web?
https://link.springer.com/chapter/10.1007/978-3-319-61615-5_13
This article brings to light how difficult it is to reduce plastic consumption when many producers do not want to be held accountable, or do not think it is their responsibility. I thought about how bottom-up planning could help restore our oceans, but doing more research made me realize that most of the “dirty” work would fall on the poor trying to make a living, which would then be exposed to health issues if the company is unethical and decides to take advantage of the marginalized. For example, in 2015 a solution was suggested by the Ocean Conservancy to place waste incinerators in South East Asian countries to dispose of trash, but this was extremely deep in violations regarding emissions, and would affect primarily those of low income and in extreme poverty. One way to mitigate our impact would be through bioplastics, but this does not solve the problem of the current plastics in the ocean today.
3. How to implement more water saving measures or restore the water to the water cycle through permeable cement? Ex: the black balls placed into the LA river to prevent evaporation?
Shade balls reduce evaporation by 85% according to trials dating back to 2008. It would save up to 300 million gallons of water per year! Apparently, the shade balls also prevent harmful chemical processes from occurring as well as prevent algae and bacterial growth. However, an expert states that the plastic balls would not leech any harmful chemicals into the drinking water. I am interested in how other measures similar to this can be implemented in our cities, and how implementing direct waste water treatment and reuse could be possible, especially with our growing California population.
I realized that I am more interested in microplastics in our oceans or algae biofuels than I am in water saving measures as I have taken a class in that area, and it feels a little redundant to me. I wanted to delve deeper into how we can resolve this plastic pollution problem we have, but I am also concerned that many other classmates may do this issue or it’s not “original” enough as it has been getting a lot of coverage nowadays. Biofuels to me has always been an interest since I was not able to do too much research on the ethics and production of it, but mainly on the chemical process of producing biodiesel, which was terribly boring and painful. I may lean towards writing about biofuels as it seems to be the closest thing we can implement locally, especially with rising gas prices, and it does not require a huge cultural change (buying an electric car, solar panels, etc. I rent an apartment, and I cannot afford a new car right now).

On top of that , in the event you available the making your reservation for widget, the truth is two emblems: G Fork out in addition to the reservation software program carrier. I'd wish to visit a merchandise that permits your doctor being front and center in the whole process. A patient-health care professional link is personalized, and we'd choose to highlight you're arranging your personal doctor, not PatientPop.
Due to the fact we however are unable to find the CTAs unique to keep with Google, we realized that The major search engines Blogposts could be a excellent motor vehicle for all of us to essentially find the identical outcome.
When Yahoo and google Content 1st released, I tried a handful of solutions. The relationship speed was lessened in comparison with other aspects in various search engines itemizing. But , provided there was clearly pregressive grow in targeted visitors, it showed up useful, once we could scale the goods. It appeared like a handy strategy to offer booking with Yahoo while not having to check out the hoops of your Maps Making your reservation for (save with) API .
Miriam: Is practical! Now, I' ve resulted in a make believe illustration showing exactly what it seems as if to utilize Search engine listings Content to timely bookings, future your tips try using a easy shade because the appearance background to linked to appearance written text quite visible. Truly does this search very much like what PatientPop does because of its customers and can also you are offering strategies for the picture dimensions and font dimensions you' ve witnessed purpose most effective?
Fran: Certainly, that's quite exactly like the kinds of Content articles we're writing in our purchaser listings. I evaluated a few graphic types, ones together with providers, some without a wording, as well as the a lot less occupied photo with doable textual content is really what conducted the top. I came across that making the image start looking a great deal more just like a key, with switch-like textual articles, better click-via charges far too - CTR tripled when compared to images without having any text .
The whole picture dimensions we employ is 750x750 with 48-level typeface sizing. If an individual makes use of the specific API, the whole picture have to be sq . popped when producing the article. In any other case, Blogposts utilizing the Google and yahoo My Company interface gives you a choice to crop. Really the only situation I had with all the publicized model of your graphic: the cropping is often uneven - sometimes it is centre-cropped, nevertheless in other cases, the bottom is stop. Rendering it hard to anticipate when on-photo textual written content will appear. But we ensure that is stays in the center which usually works essentially.
Miriam: And, when clicked on on, the The search engines Submit takes you the client' s individual website, where by PatientPop software is in use to manage engagements - is the fact that ideal?
Joel: Sure, the internet site is created by PatientPop. When deciding on Book, the sufferer could be considered directly to the provider's webpage the spot that the making your reservation for widget is showed plus an visit may be chosen from your schedule. These consultations can be synced to the practice's electronic information and facts method.
Miriam: Very clean! While i understand it, PatientPop controls many buyer postings, necessitating the need to take care of this using of Google and yahoo Posts. Without having supplying any techniques away, are you able to share the link for the API anyone made use of and explain how you templatized the procedure of generating Content articles at variety?
Joel: Positive! We had been waiting for Search engines like yahoo to offer Blogposts using the Google and yahoo The Organization API, simply because we wanted to scale. As I acquired somewhat of a heads-up which the API was arriving - Google and yahoo shared this aspect employing their GMB Best Contributor group - we continue to had to loose time waiting for this to produce to find out the documents and try it out. So , the moment the free up news went out on October eleven , with just a couple of designers, i managed to apply the perfect solution for everyone in our routines the subsequent nighttime. It was a satisfying, speedy win for us, though it was a bit of a extended day.: )
To obtain a thing out that can swiftly, we designed design templates which might use data through the listing by itself just like the company name, category, additionally site. This way, we had the ability to establish a stand-on your own Python script that snapped up postings from Search engines. When getting the sale listings, most of the itemizing articles incorporates it, which includes identify, tackle, plus grouping. These figures are recommended directly from the itemizing to build Content articles then are submitted to Yahoo. We all number the pictures on AWS and reuse them by releasing the picture Website with the posting. Which is a Python set of scripts which works like a cron task at a normal approach. If you're a novice to the API, this challenging aspect is authorization, however the GMB group can certainly help answer concerns there.
Miriam: Actually amazing implementation! An individual query: Google Articles end soon after 1 week unless they might be situations, so might be you essentially automating re-putting up of your booking feature for each listing just about every 7 days?
Joel: Every one of us create Content articles each 7 days for virtually any our practices. That way, you can merge up the information and images utilized on virtually any exercise. We're also together with a subsequent each week publish for procedures which provide visual professional services. We'll wind up being starting much more Blogposts for certain apply kinds moving forward, far too.
Miriam: Now for the best enjoyable factor, Joel! Exactlty what can you inform me about the increase in sessions this consumption of Search engines like google Blog posts has shipped for your customers? And, will you also you should discuss what factors and products you are generally making use of to trace this expansion?
Joel: To trace mouse clicks from results on the major search engines, we use UTM guidelines. We can easily then path the authority webpage, the assistance (navigation) Link, the take a look at URL, along with the Content articles Web address.
When I for a miami SEO expert very first do this examination, I viewed the typical out of the previous 3 weeks of lessons as opposed to 4 times immediately after release. Through that period, I found nearly an 8% development of on the net bookings. I've given that included the complete earliest week of kick off. It shows an 11Per cent average development of online reservations. Additionally , due to the fact we're following each and every Website link on the know-how panel separately, I could possibly with confidence say there's no cannibalization connected with click throughs utilizing URLs on account of which includes Posts. Though guru web page CTR remained steady, expert services lost more than 10% from the clicks and scheduled session Web addresses attained ten percent. That suggests in my opinion which not only are the Articles or blog posts effective in traveling engagements using the Content articles CTA, it focuses on the current scheduled visit CTA as well. This is around the perspective of no additional item alterations on our area.
Miriam: Right, for that reason , a lot of our visitors is going to be employing Google' s Local Company Web addresses (commonly used for backlinking so as to selections) to supply an " Appointments" web page link. The most thrilling takeaways from your execution is working with Search engines Blogposts to help with bookings didn' t seize interest from the scheduled visit web page link, which seems larger up throughout the Know-how Panel. Is it possible to reveal las vegas driving under the influence legal representative notice the Yahoo Blog posts clicks are additive instead of subtractive?
Joel: The actual " make appointment" hyperlink will get a increased CTR than Blog posts, as a result it shouldn't be ignored. On the other hand , given that
Blog posts include an image, I actually believe it would be attracting a unique sort of end user, which is much more primed so that you can connect with visuals. And also since we're thus certain on any type of connection we will like (appointment scheduling), both while using CTA and the picture, it appears to be to transform perfectly. And, while i said above, it seems like to assist the session World wide web addresses far too.
Miriam: I used to be genuinely consequently astounded together with your inventiveness in this particular, Fran. It' s just excellent to look into something as simple as this little bit of The major search engines monitor real estate and ask, " After all this, how could I use this to maximum effect? " Yahoo and google Content articles makes it possible for business people to add backlinks marked Guideline, Obtain On the net, Buy, Learn More, Signup, and have Supply. The " Book" attribute is actually the perfect complement for your company' s doctor clientele, yet presented your obvious natural talent designed for thinking beyond the package, do you have any kind of innovative strategies for other sorts of provider types making use of the other pre-fixed website link selections?
Fran: I' m really serious about the gatherings characteristic, in reality. Because you can produce a longer-existed submit while placing a feeling of urgency simply using a time-bound situation. Occasions range from constrained-time delivers, such as a deal about the certain product, or signups for those newsletter designed to will include a discount code. You may use the many web page link tags you've in the previously list for any granted function. And, I really believe using the photo-as-key viewpoint can really crank out success. I'd love to see images in addition to written text Use advertising policy XYZ546 now ! with all the Get Offer key. I picture quite a few company kinds, especially reseller, may possibly emphasize their limited time presents without having to pay other businesses to promote your coupons additionally promotions by means of Blogposts.
Miriam: Agreed upon, Joel, you will find truly exciting opportunities for very creative utilize in this article. Thanks a lot for your electrifying comprehension you' ve given to our neighborhood currently!
Willing to take full advantage of Google and yahoo Articles?
Evaluations might be a task to manage . Search engines Q& A would be a put together true advantage . But so far as I could discover, Content material are an unalloyed existing from Google. Here' s what you just need to do to start utilizing them at this time to have a single position of the small business:
Sign into the Search engines My Company dash panel and select the " Posts" tab within the leftover menu.
Pick which usually in the solutions, tagged " Regulate keys, " could be the right fit for any online business. It can be " Guide, " or it can be something diffrent, like " Indicator up" or " Obtain. " Go through the " Put in a Button" solution in the Google and yahoo Blog posts sorcerer. Be certain the Website url you will get into features an UTM parameter for monitoring reasons.
Add the 750x750 photo. Joel recommends utilizing a straightforward-coloured background extremely visible 42-position font sizing for switching this graphic in a CTA press button-style graphic. You might need to try cropping the.
Additionally, you may make a function, that could trigger your report to remain survive throughout the day through the occasion.
Words comes with a bare minimum 100-individuality and highest possible 300-figure limitation. I would recommend creating something which would definitely attract customers to click to obtain beyond the cut-away from level, especially as it appears to me that there are numerous display screen lengths on distinct products. It' s also recommended that you make message of that particular Yahoo Articles are mentioned information. Preliminary testing is uncovering that only utilizing Blogposts may improve neighborhood wrap up rankings, yet still additionally there is an appealing theory that they are an prospect for long-tail keyword and key phrase optimizing examinations for a Miami SEO Expert. According to Mike Blumenthal :
"... If there are seriously longer-tail expressions, exactly where the cabability to increase importance isn't up against a lot of headwinds, then it is a alert that Search engines may acknowledge and guide raise the fishing boat for your long-tail term. My exposure to it absolutely was it did not work efficiently on go words, plus it might need some quantity of interaction to do this to essentially work well. Simply put, I'm uncertain simply the term themselves however the concept with click-throughs over the Articles could be the specific induce for this. It's not absolutely distinct still. "
You may take a look at your submit before you decide to strike the specific release button.
Your individual article will stay survive for a week. Next, it will likely be time for you to blog post a whole new one.
If you want to conduct at range across many items, re-browse Joel' s description from your API and computer programming PatientPop is going to be implementing. It may need some accomplishing, nevertheless an 11Percent increase in engagements would likely help it become worth the financial investment! In addition obviously, if you happen to be marketing medical treatment providers, trying out PatientPop' s all set-manufactured alternative would be intelligent.
No-one likes a ball-hog
I' m observing the roll-out of Yahoo and google Content articles with rapt attention. At the moment, they are going to are living on Understanding Sections plus sale listings, but supplied that they are discovered, it' s not impossible they are able to eventually result in the natural SERPs. Whether or not that previously happens, everything you have at this time on this function is a thing that delivers instant publication for the customer open public in return for very modest time and effort.
Perhaps even more importantly, Content articles supply an effective way to take people through The search engines for your unique website , the place you have complete control of text messaging. That individual fulfillment is starting to become extremely difficult as loaded-feature SERPs (and perhaps solitary success ) hold visitors Google and yahoo-sure. We ask yourself if classes children still yell " ball-hog" if a classmate will never relinquish baseball command and grow the team competitor. At the moment, for surrounding organizations, Yahoo and google Blog posts might be a useful potential for your model to handle certain baseball.

Reno Reflections
So I finally reached an age when I could finally be allowed to buy over the lease to a public housing apartment from a willing seller (in short “buy” a HDB flat on the resale market). Finally finally I could have a space to decorate and call my own! Well… legally its all mine. Practically, I’m sharing space with 1 cranky old woman and 1 turtle who just wants to read in peace.
PLAN
Being the type who actually thought interior design was just a matter of choosing colours and textures, I thought I could save myself some moolah by taking a minimalist approach. This is not the less is more design you think. Minimalist to me means you don’t make structural changes to the house as at the time I bought. That probably trimmed like 30K from my reno budget.
What I did was plan my storage and workspace in allinnocence. Using a screenshot of the floorplan I had to purchase anyway, I designed my dream kitchen, my personal den, the family living room, for ideal (I.e. no clutter) conditions. I designed using powerpoint. YEAH. For about a month, I arranged. Rearranged, shifted, pondered and even restarted from scratch. And I went on pilgrimage to IKEA for Swedvine inspiration.
I planned the kitchen, thinking that if I provided enough storage space, that woman and I could co-exist peacefully, me in my baking corner (literally), and she with whatever nonsense she wanted. I was also very gian for a stone counter top, thanks to the bread I planned to pound and knead on that surface.
I planned space for a nice Lshaped couch so any of us could stretch out whilst watching TV, and a coffee table. I planned for graceful living and dining. The light fixtures above the dining table would make our food look gorgeous! Alas.
I planned a walk in wardrobe. =) doesn't every girl?
I planned a workbench for my comp, and other projects, I planned space for exercise, and I planned my L-space (okok bookshelves).
And I planned how to reuse some furniture from the old house. And considered very seriously what I would buy from IKEA to use in some kooky way as recommended by industrious people who own construction tools and have too much time on their hands. Then I decided I was too lazy. Heh.
DO
I found this website where reno companies can quote for your job. I emailed all of them with my powerpoint plan and some brief descriptions of what I wanted, spoke to some at my new house *beams with pride* and ventured to the showrooms of the others. The ones who suggested knocking down walls, I never spoke to again. Demolition increases time and cost of reno. For reals.
Also I wanted barriers btw me and my co-habitants. And a nice thick door btw me and the rest of the house. The reasons are summarised as Peace and Quiet.
Finally I selected my contractor - the one who a. quoted lowest and b. indicated they understood my brief and would comply.
The brief: new kitchen cabinets, w space for 1 microwave, 1 convection oven. Granite counter top.
Each room in a colour of my choice. Walk in wardrobe and drawers. New doors for bedrooms. New wiring, and installation of lights / ceiling fan. Refloor the two rooms with wood finish vinyl.
CHECK & MATCH
The living room started out a canary yellow and I decided to maintain the colour, but with smooth matt paint walls instead of the *urg* shiny pebbly textured wall the previous owner had. The kitchen was decided to be light pink (thanks Mom!), and the master bedroom a slightly deeper pink. My room is in my favourite colour: light blue, and the grilles painted silver. The walk in wardrobe is light green and the shelving / drawers are a slightly more intense green, supports and railings are in slivery aluminium
The silly contractor lady decided the fans that my house came with were decrepit and threw them out. So I scolded her for it but still had to order new ones. The non-new water heater for the master bedroom was similarly buanged and I threw a temper tantrum then squeezed her for a new one. She ruined my kitchen basin, so I got a new one too.
I moved a waist high cupboard from my old room… to my new room cos the colours match. And I got an IKEA workbench… 2nd hand. Hahahahahh. And then I arranged the other old shelving and the bed in the remaining space. My bed is orthoganal to my workbench so I can perch there cross legged like I’m used to. I've decided to keep my L-space limited so I have mental resistance to buying more books.
ALL our beds have metal frames for better durability. I mean every Pre-CNY month u can see these sad abandoned PU leather bedheads hat are peeling. I decided that our bed frames should last damn near forever.
My contractor took like forever to give me a mockup of the kitchen cabinetry and basin but it looked okay and I let her proceed. It’s white cabinetry with some curly design that looked nice, maroon drawers, with a slice of black granite with shiny flecks in between heaven and earth. Lol.
For the living room I bought a glass coffee table, and an orange L-shaped couch. We got a 4 bulb lamp with an IC switch that lets u alternate two diagonal bulbs or all 4, but 4 years in, it started giving me attitude. Be warned. The dining area lights are a set of 3 pendant bulbs.
My parents beds are separated by a bedside drawer, cos 1 snores. Hahahahah. They have 2 other cupboards from the old house.
AAR
There’s nothing like 20/20 hindsight. Understand that the everyday actions you do must be catered for. Powerpoints should be as many as u need, and near your action centres. Things like routers that should’nt be banished to a corner should be catered for along with the electrical wiring.
Don’t go along with ID ideas just because everyone doing [thing]. you do you. If you are a natural hermit, you want walls and a nice thick door. Similarly drop lighting and false ceilings are good for some pple, but know that you should be prepared to pay and pay if something needs repairing or something died in the false ceiling. LOL. Me? I like to be able to buy and change my own bulbs.
I like my life to be minimal maintenance. So decorative walls and panelling is a no-go for me. And knowing the people I live with, the nice clean lines of cabinetry will shortly get clutter in front of them and then I won’t be able to get to the stuff inside the cabinets. So no hall cabinets for me. Hahahahahaha*sob*
May your 2nd reno be more enlightened by the experience from the first. <3

Homemade Herbal Coffee
Ah coffee. How much do we love you? I can’t scroll Instagram without seeing at least one coffee related meme. Things like, “Life without coffee is like me without sleep. Neither are recommended.” Or “I know how to cure my coffee withdrawal, more coffee.” I was and still am a lover of coffee. I didn’t start drinking coffee until I graduated college and got my first full time job. At the time I am sure I used it to help me wake up in the morning. Adjusting to an early work schedule wasn’t easy. As life progressed I just did it as a morning ritual and I have grown to love the taste. So why am I now drinking Homemade Herbal Coffee? Great question!
A few months ago I ran a full hormone panel on myself, something that I do with my female clients often. The results showed that my cortisol levels were pretty low all day long. A sign of HPA Axis Disregulation, or adrenal fatigue. There can be numerous causes including stress, inflammation, blood sugar issues, over-exercising, and infections. It is usually a progression of things that happen over time.
Caffeine can over-stimulate the adrenals, which can lead to further fatiguing when the caffeine wears off. If you are experiencing low energy levels, you might find yourself getting through the day by kicking your adrenals with coffee or beverages containing caffeine (or even with sweets or chocolate). This can make you feel better temporarily but in the long run you are at risk for exhausting your adrenals even more, leading them down a even worse path. Even if you don’t have an adrenal or caffeine issue I usually recommend taking occasional breaks from coffee to give your body time off.
Switching to decaffeinated coffee isn’t the solution either, since decaf coffee still contains some and even still significant amounts of caffeine. You may want to slowly wean yourself off caffeine especially if you consider yourself extremely dependent. In the end I switched to decaf but then decided I really needed to quit all together to allow my body to heal. This may sound impossible to some but in the end your body with thank you! In an effort to satisfy my morning cup of Joe I tried numerous brands of herbal coffees. Some were better than others. Two of my favorites if you don’t want to make it yourself are…Dandy Blend and Teechino Dandelion Dark Roast or Dandelion Caramel Nut.
But the best herbal coffee I have had was a blend made by a local business. I set out to create a version that I could make myself at home. This Homemade Herbal Coffee is great iced or hot. When I drink it cold I add a splash of full fat coconut milk. Enjoying it hot, I make a latte by adding a scoop of collagen peptides, a drizzle of raw honey, some almond milk and mix it in my blender to create a foamy drink.
Coffee does have some studies supporting its health benefits but when you have adrenal issues or your body doesn’t tolerate caffeine for some other reason, these benefits go out the window. Herbs and spices can have just as many (if not more) health supportive benefits.
Chicory| It can stimulate the liver, cleanse the spleen, gallbladders, and kidneys. It is often used as a substitute or ingredient in coffee but it has no caffeine.
Dandelion Root| It can remove pesticides, pollutants, contaminants, wastes, and toxins that collect in your joints.
Milk Thistle| This is a valuable herb to strengthen your liver. A health liver can boost your resistance to disease and help you recover from illnesses more quickly. It is your big detoxifying organ and secretes bile to stimulate digestive juices that breakdown nutrients from food so that we can absorb them.
Chaga| A mushroom that has an abundance of Beta-D-Glucans which help balance the response of the body’s immune system (source). This means that chaga helps boosts the immune system when necessary, but slows it down when it’s overactive.
Cinnamon| A popular spice that can support health blood sugar levels, support a healthy inflammatory response (source), and also can act like an antioxidant.
Cardamom| One of my favorite spices, it possesses many known health benefits including supporting the gastrointestinal tract (source).
I still crave the taste off coffee and hope to introduce it back into my live one day but for now herbal coffee is my morning comfort and I hope you can find some joy in it too!

Serves: 1½ cups
Ingredients
1½ teaspoons cardamom seeds
1 cinnamon stick, crushed into bits (use a mortar and pestle or pulse in a blender)
⅔ cup roasted chicory granules
¼ cup coarse chaga
¼ cup dandelion root
2 tablespoons milk thistle, crusted into bits (use a mortar and pestlel or pulse in a blender)
Instructions
Mix all of the herbs and spices together.
Store in an airtight container.
To make herbal add 1 tablespoon of the dry mix to every 8 ounces of hot water and let steep for 10 minutes (I use a coffee press). You can use tea or just strain out the mix with a strainer.
Hot Latte: 1 scoop collagen peptides, ¼ cup almond milk, 1 teaspoon raw honey, hot herbal coffee and blend in a blender. Serve.
Iced Herbal Coffee: After steeping and straining the coffee put it in a glass jar and stick it in the fridge to cool overnight. Serve as desired.
Notes
NOTE: You can reuse the mix for at least 2 batches of coffee. Sometimes I just add a small scoop to the mixture I already steeped just to boost the flavor and color.

New Post has been published on http://pagedesignweb.com/how-to-set-up-a-purchased-wordpress-website-on-your-hosting-server/
How to Set Up a Purchased WordPress Website on Your Hosting Server
In the fist part of the article I described why Bob purchased the WordPress website, how to transfer the domain and the setting up of the domain on his hosting server. Part two will take a closer look on how to install the WordPress websites database and configure some important WordPress Website settings.
1. Upload the WordPress Database files
Let’s break this part down into 3 simple steps:
a) Create the WordPress Database and access information
b) Modify the WordPress Database content
b) Upload the WordPress Database (cpanel)
a) Create the WordPress Database and access information (cpanel)
You could restore the database directly, but for this exercise Bob will also explain why he created the WordPress database himself. So here comes the tricky part. When you want to access the WordPress website, it will first try to connect to the WordPress database. The corresponding access information is stored in the wp-config.php file, located in the root directory of the new domain. You can look it up in the WordPress directory files you got. Therefore, you will need to change the following three variables inside the wp-config.php file:
/** The name of the database for WordPress */
define(‘DB_NAME’, ‘bob55_ akkingb’);
/** database username */
define(‘DB_USER’, ‘bob55_ akdbadm’);
/** database password */
define(‘DB_PASSWORD’, ‘xxxxxxxxxx’);
The DB_PASSWORD parameter I got is encrypted and of no use to me, therefore the connection will fail. To get around this problem bob will show you a little trick; Bob reused an existing user (and password) already assigned to another WordPress Database.
First he created the WordPress database, akkingb (in cpanel > Databases > MySql Databases) and added the EXISTING user to the new database(Scroll down to MySQL Users and add the user bob55_ akdbadm to the database he just created, bob55_ akkingb, and assign ALL PRIVILEGES.
Now you only needed modify DB_NAME parameter, copy the values for DB_USER and ‘DB_PASSWORD from the wp-config.php file of your EXISTING WordPress Blog, and the connection will work perfectly;-)
So, download or extract the wp-config.php file for your new WordPress blog, change the parameters and upload it again.
b) Modify the WordPress Database content
There is some information in the WordPress Website that you can either modify later on, when you have managed to access your new WordPress blog or change it directly in the WordPress Database file. I prefer to do the latter, as it is quite simple and a nice time saver when configuring the WordPress Website.
There are a few generic values that are used in diverse places so if you do a find/replace (all) it’s a matter of minutes to get this done. I will tell you what tables are affected, so you know where to look and change it manually, but you can simply do a global change too:
wp_options table – Change values of:
– ‘admin_email’, –> your email.)
– Path prefixes: home/uuuuuuuu/public_html –> home/bob55/public_html
wp_users table: Change value of user_email field for the admin user so you will be able to have the password reset send to your email
That’s it!:-) The user_email is especially helpful if you do not know the WordPress website’s admin password. Simply request the password to be reset and you will get the password send to the email you chose;-)
c) Upload the WordPress Database (cpanel)
The important point here is to name the WordPress database sql file correctly. When restoring via the cpanel it will use the database according to the WordPress database sql file name. Do NOT add a database prefix, as this will be assigned automatically, and should be your hosting server ID; in Bob’s case, bob55. Hence, Bob named his file akkingb.sql, and the resulting complete database name will be bog55_ akkingb.
Bob had problems with WordPress Database restores when the file was not zipped in the correct format. The restore either did not run at all or broke at any point. Therefore it’s a good idea to get the free Gzip file compression utility. For more information go to gzip.org. The syntax is “C:Program FilesGnuWin32bingzip.exe” DBname.sql” and this will convert the DBname.sql into a DBname.sql.gz file.
To restore the WordPress Database, in cpanel, go the Files > Backup Wizard, select “Restore” > MySQL Databases, locate your local restore file, akkingb.sql.gz and click “Restore”. Now a new browser window will open up and the DB restore should start within seconds.
You know that the restore should have terminated correctly if you see the whole WordPress Database file on this page. You can verify the DB creation also through the cpanel > Databases > Php Admin panel. All your databases are listed on the left hand side.
We are almost done!:-). You should now be able to see your new blog and enter the admin panel yourdomain/wp-admin.
2. Configuring your WordPress Website
Any WordPress Blog configuration is different, but following letsl name just some of the WordPress Website settings..
* WordPress SETTINGS*
