Heya! I'm obsessed with your Ogerpon art and I was wondering if you have any advice for posing it? I have a comic with one and it's sometimes tricky to make her hood arm thingys work. Once again mentioning that I'm obsessed with your art and I hope you have a great day!
Howdy!! It took me a very long time to figure out how to actually draw Ogerpon so I can VERY MUCH UNDERSTAND THIS. But I'd love to teach you how I think about her cloak and its physics!
Firstly, she is SO round. Like, SO SO ROUND. It's kind of impressive how circular she is. But this is something I analyze and use to my advantage!
Looking at some of my recent art gives a nice example:
I like to emphasize Ogerpon's circular silhouette.
(But I also do a little cheating...)
See, Ogerpon's restricted in her 3d model in that her outer "flaps" must serve as her figurative hands. It makes any posing involving her holding items with both hands a little awkward, especially with coloring.
I use a trick! Most of the time, when I need Ogerpon to hold something or make a gesture, I used the inner "flaps" to do so, as seen above. It's anatomically incorrect, but who's paying attention anyway? :) It's easier to draw!
Hopefully the rest is a little simpler. Ogerpon's cloak maintains a general shape (closest I can compare it to is like... a lemon, I guess?) Honestly, I totally recommend scrolling through my blog and referencing off of my art if my style of drawing her is something you wanna replicate!
Here's a quick coloring reference I drew for this ask too :) Have fun Ogerdrawing!!!!!!

I GAVE UP 🎉(kind of)
Yuu Shi Tapis Rouge/Luxe Couture
SO. The armature was a bust. Learning how to make one would take a shit ton of time and i just- would prefer to do that on my own terms without the looming feeling of- well, wanting to post her design all the time given its been finished for a WHILE.
To make up for it though, i made fake homescreen screenshots ig JFNDJDJD theyre not the best, but fuck it i think i replicated the twst style rather well.
Her outfit is based more around the same line Vil had, and I took a lot of inspiration from Gucci (pinterest, my saving grace yet again)
More under the cut! V
A vERY quick thing i made of another potential sprite, i'd imagine there'd be a toggle to take off the shawl. Also I did one of Yuu Shi in her more masc disguise! Yes. We keep the dress. 👏
After this I don't particularly have any new art planned for a second, I want to shift my focus to finishing wips/projects and resuming progress on TCOAV. So- hey! If you've yet to read and are interested, now may be a good time to start with chapter 6 on the way.
I've blabbed enough for today IFNFDNID

Okay so last night I was having an "art style panic"? I guess you could call it that? But I was feeling really bad, so i started drawing other peoples art styles and picking points and peaces out of it!
I did this last night when I was really tired and i used a pen so the drawings may not be how i usually do my drawings haha
Ok so first up we have @emjoyzhos-ej !! I recently just found your account but you have a very cool style!!
•Your skull shape is very unique, very rectangle
•your lines are very sketchy (most people I follow have this trait in their art..)
•when you color it looks like you mayy have rook inspiration from itsxroxannex? Idk i wrote that down, maybe it's not true but I guess i thought that last night
But I love your style! Your art is so cool and I had fun trying to replicate it!
Next we have @milkybnnuy ! Omg so I really like you!! Your art is sooo good
•You draw a lot of fell, so i made the drawing of killer like how you made that one fell killer drawing
•when you color you have a very paintly-style and that's cool!!
•your skull shape reminds me of an egg (i guess thats why i said "egg head" last night)
Up in the top I wrote "I did not replicate your art properly enough," and that's true! Your art is so unique and different from what i usually drew so i had a hard time replicating it! But nonetheless, i had a fun time trying and hope you ain't disappointed lol
Btw- I really like the way you draw your fuzz on hoods!! So satisfying to look at!
And now we go onto @voidzphere !
I've followed you for a while, and you're cool to be around and I like when you post! Though i had a hard time finding the art hidden around, I still was able to replicate it (luckily i chose to draw killer for this haha)
•so I see that you usually draw/post doodles, unless i just didn't scroll down far enough haha (plz tell me if you have drawn something big i wanna see)
•I noticed you have more pointy and thicker lines
•you have a certain way you draw your Skulls, I can't really put a shape or object here to describe it
Even though I couldn't find more drawings, I still tried! I hope you like it, friend, cause u cool
Here is @cherrio-krispz ! I just started following you last night, like seriously I had to search you up just now to figure out who you were cuz I forgot, but when i saw your art I immediately recognized you
•you have a very recognizable style!
•again, i did not replicate well.
•very painty-like when color
•sketchy lines, seems like you don't do line art?
•I like ur skulls, they look like skulls
OMG I'VE BEEN WAITING TO TALK ABOUT YOU. YOU. YOUUU. @somegrumpynerd OMG YOUUUUUU. I REALLY LIKE YOUR ARTTT.
•I LIKE IT
•very cartoonish
• noticable art style
•thick lineart
I LOVE seeing posts when they come out!!! They're really really cool and make me feel so happy when I see them! Keep going because you're so cool!
@spookeri haiiii
You're here tooo
i like ur art :)))))) a LOT . Same as the last guy, I get very excited when you post. Your DTIYS were fun, and yeye... Yeah
•Very flat colors
•flat lines
•cool looking skulls
•you have an "air-brush" shading style (i guess you could call it), which isn't a bad thing! Do what you want to do! But maybe try out cell-shading? Idk you don't have to, but idk i feel like cell-shading fits your art style
Also if you look in the bottom you can see a scratched out drawing, that was my first attempt haha
You can see it in the drawing below
@wyllaztopia !! I like your art :)) you have a very noticeable style and when you post I get excited as well!
•clean lines
•you make skulls longer than how other people make their skulls in this last
•I liked replicating it
Idk what else to say ... Its just all really cool!!
And last but not the worst
My art style!
My art style is
•cool
•easy to draw
•and funny lookin'
What did i learn from this whole thing i did? That everyone has a unique style, that even if they try to change it it still stays theirs and it's still unique
I also found out that everyone, small artists and big artists, has flaws! It's comforting to know that everyone has flaws so I know I'm just learning and getting better everyday
Another thing I got from this is that everyone's styles are always changing and warping. But thats fine! Because everyone's moving and changing, and the worlds always moving and changing!
So, don't be so hard on yourself if you're struggling to draw or find an art style, how you draw is unique to you and you'll like it one day
Just keep drawing everyday and you'll get there.
I suggest doing this challenge, on paper or digital, wether you color it or not, or post ot or not!
It's great to try out.

Hey, so I really love Lore Rekindled, and the art is one of my favorite parts! The style, the coloring, the background, all of it is just so… smooth! I don’t really know how to describe it. Recently, I’ve been trying to replicate it, and I was hoping you would give me a few pointers. What brushes do you use for line art? How do you decided what to line, and what to leave blank? What about coloring brushes? Do you use smudge brushes? Whats, like, the step by step process? You don’t have to answer if you don’t want to! But any tips or answers would be great!
Ah thanks so much!!!
Here are the brushes! They're .abr brushes, so they should work in Photoshop, Clip Studio and Procreate :) (they don't work in Krita or other software that utilizes PNG brushes though, sorry ; ; )
There's also a tutorial included with that file that breaks down my process layer by layer! That said, there are a couple things that have changed in my process since doing that tutorial:
I mostly use the Hard Square Pastel brush now for all of that 'crispy' lighting that often happens along the edges of characters' shoulders and heads, such as seen here:
I now do an extra step of applying a 'blur' layer, where I essentially merge all the layers into a new layer on top of everything, set it to Overlay, and then Gaussian Blur by about 60%. This is how I get that 'dreamy' look that's been present in a lot of the more recent episodes!
It's subtle, but really effective in making the glow effects and deeper colors really pop!
As for the more nuanced stuff like lineart, it's kinda just something I do by feel! Sometimes I'll shade something in and realize the lineart doesn't need to be there, so then I'll go in and erase, other times I have to be a bit more excessive with it esp if two similar colors are up against each other. I'm actually trying to use less lineart going forward to get more of that authentic LO look but it's hard, I'm very used to doing lineart-heavy drawings so it's forcing me to draw in a way that I'm not used to! 😆 I usually always start with flat colors first though, meaning I start by 'shaping' out the character poses and then lining them in afterwards!
You can see an example of this process in my END OF PERSEPHONE time lapse here:
youtube
I also usually stream work sessions of Rekindled over on my Twitch, but I'm currently on hiatus from streaming due to technical difficulties (OBS just... decided it was gonna stop working, sigh). Go give it a follow anyways tho so you can be notified when I start streaming again! I'm thinking in the meantime until I can get my Twitch going again I might start doing some screen sharing sessions in Discord. So keep your eyes peeled for that if you ever wanna catch me working! I'm always happy to talk about and demystify the process <3

Do you have any tips for when designing poc characters?? Like what not or to do, etc.
this is massively edited down to just keep the essentials. this isn't going to be as explicit as you were maybe wanting but saying "don't draw black characters this way, don't draw asian characters that way" isn't something i wanna do because it's not a good feeling to review a list of offensive design practices from a trauma standpoint and likely wouldn't be for any other people of color reading.
study from real photos.
really, any set of photos of people of color work but if you want a resource where people are not models nor actors that have been plucked up for their marketableness, here's a good site: Humanae — Angélica Dass (angelicadass.com) it's a photography collection associated with pantone to showcase diversity in shades of skin.
study faces within a group.
no two ppl look the same and character design is about showcasing this through certain features.
from these, study how much differently color works for melanated/non-white skin.
again, it's different for everyone even within groups. admittedly this is only something you'd need if you have a more in-depth or painterly style, but still. avoid grayish base skin tones. the aforementioned site is actually great for this.
LOOK INTO RACIST CARICATURES.
literally, people wouldn't find themselves "accidentally" slipping into racist designs if they just KNEW, explicitly knew, and internally acknowledged what people of color find offensive or what has been used against them in depictions of themselves.
yes, this includes looking at the old offensive cartoons, illustrations, etc. it's painful and uncomfortable and rough but it must be understood how these caricatures were a means of dehumanization and are mistakes to be learned from.
again, i'm not gonna list out exactly how not to depict a black person, an asian person, jewish person, latine, middle eastern, etc. etc. etc., because i feel these things should just be known, but if it's not, literally just be aware (or get aware) of the racial stigma faced by the group of people you are attempting to represent. put care into how you are depicting them.
BUT ALSO KEEP IN MIND: you shouldn't jump to default to white eurocentric features simply to "avoid" the any sort of backlash or offense that may be taken. because if you do so, a) in attempting to not be offensive, you're still perpetuating the upholding and favoring of white eurocentric features, and b) well, you're just stifling yourself.
designing characters of color REQUIRES acknowledgement of non-eurocentric features; hell, in the best cases, it's a celebration of these features.
as you would in replicating a style of architecture, a technique of painting, a depiction of a culture, you have to observe and become knowledgeable.
addendum: obviously, i'm not white, so i don't know the depths of how pervasive racism and white supremacy can be in a white person's personal life and upbringing; but i do know that racism and white supremacy are pervasive even (ESPECIALLY) in art, a much more tangible and permanent thing than a state of being, and knowing this, i do reserve a small margin of patience for white folks that are wanting to try to be in the know on this topic, especially younger people who have yet to unlearn certain things. if anyone reads this and thinks "well, it's not their responsibility or any person of color's to teach you these things," you're correct, but yknow. the effort's there, and trying's all we can do.

Mystic Rauru
What would the skeksis counterpart to Rauru be like??
Commission info | Buy a Print! | portfolio | Twitter | insta | Discord server
Progress pics below!
I don't know if people still know what the dark crystal is, but I really wanted to redraw rauru from totk as a mystic. I feel like he fits the vibes so well.
Sketch:
I've been drawing a lot of full body pieces recently so this ones just of the head. This sketch is a bit more lose as I try to draw like they did. The main extra details is the swirly patterns in the skin and including fly aways in the hair.
Line art:
The line art needs to just be a cleaned sketch, so instead of precisely lining evey shape, I can just imply the shapes with each stroke. The hair is the main thing that isn't a solid shape apart from where I've thicked up the edges for readability.
Flats:
For the flats I've kept in this more yellow area. Anything blue is just grey and I'm relying on colour theory to make it appear blue.
Finished render:
So going into the finished render I originally wanted to replicate the watercolor and coloured pencil style the dark crystal's art style has... Unfortunately procreate's default watercolour bush is kind of awful. A lot of this was shaded using the airbrush and soft round brush. I was experimenting a lot for this piece, a lot of it was different to what I'd usually do.
So the colours are too gloomy for my liking. I was trying out a colours theory thing, and it worked, but for this specific piece it's way too gloomy. I've also noticed a weird thing with the eyes where if you look at the piece on a small screen they look too dark. You have to look at this piece at the size I drew it to properly see the eyes.
Basically.
I wanna redo this one at some point.
But that's how experiments go sometimes, I did learn things from it so it's not a total bust, I just wanted this piece to look very different to what I got here.
So be sure to follow so you don't miss when I attempt to shade this again.
Also have a look at my inprnt page if you want a print and my commissions are open if you'd like one.
Oki bye

can you give any tips for writing scripts? do you do it before or after you film the scenes? i’m having trouble figuring out dialogue and and how to space things out..
Ofc! This might be long though so sorry in advance!
I always write my scripts before I film a scene. If the script isn’t done, then I can’t film. It’s where I map out everything. Sometimes I’ll deviate from the script, because what’s in my head when I write isn’t always easily replicable in game. I still use it as a guideline for filming though. Here’s a rough sketch of what a detailed script looks like for me:
As far as pacing, I usually try to fantasize about how the scenes would go in my head. I try to be mindful of how long it takes everyone to read too. I read pretty fast, but I know the scenes and I know the script so it’s not the same for me as it is for my audience. I like to let the dialogue hang for a bit so people have time to read what’s written, but to also observe the scene visually.
Also, I use the script to show pacing too. Since I have a larger cast it’s a bit easier to do now, but I don’t like for a character to appear in two consecutive scenes. Especially if they’re in different places and a portion of the scene didn’t include them traveling. So, if Lou appears in scene 1 then he probably won’t appear again until scene 3 or later. In my head I see it as giving the character enough time to move from place to place.
When it comes to story pacing, I don’t want too much to happen too soon. It depends on how long your story is, of course, but I try to have a slow lead up to major things. For season 2, it took all season for Lou to meet his dad. Along the way I built it up by sprinkling in a few scenes here and there. Adding in a few crumbs to conversations. With other things you don’t wanna draw it out too long. Like Kaila, Rory, and Sav’s love triangle. Kaila and Rory were meant to get together quickly to show how much pull Rory has. It also shows how much Savannah was unwilling to fight for her because she knew Kaila wasn’t her person. A lot of this stuff is just personal preference though and depends on what fits your characters.
The best thing I can recommend to do is to watch your favorite shows. See how they block out scenes. See how long each scene lasts. See how the characters move through a scene. Think about the whole season and see when major turning points occurred. Take a little inspiration from that and then tailor it to fit your story. I try not to emulate shows too much because I like for Lykaia to stand on its own (and I have certain views about copying v. inspiration), but it is very helpful to at least observe how other shows are filmed. I try to think if my show was on like Netflix or Hulu- how would it look? How would it flow? I did that a lot more this season though and not the first two. Which is why I’m really not fond of season 1 of Lykaia. At least the first half. Twilight is one of those movies that has such a distinct look that whenever the style is emulated it looks like a copy. Which was completely unnecessary, because that sickly green aesthetic isn’t the only way to show solemn and moody weather. If I wanted that vibe, I needed to tailor it to fit Lykaia. I do that now by using a lot of rain, cooler tones, and a dry color palette. So, it’s stuff like that. It’s just been a learning process for me.

hi it's me again from the luka vs ivan r7 ask, and claiming the 🌦️ emoji :>
for their song i wanna go w something like nightglow by tanya chua from the hi3 game. it's THE year ender event for the segyein and the entire city is packed into the arena.
i can see the producers dressing them up in complementary styles. luka wld have elements of ivan's signature style and vice versa.
imagine the entire time ivan and luka ARE in equal footing. luka has the fanbase power and experience ivan cant match, but ivan has a type of completely human showmanship that luka cant replicate. imagine them dancing during their round too and they keep on switching back and forth on who gets the lead !!
luka can see that ivan is singing the song for SOMEONE but he cant pinpoint who and it's throwing him off just a bit. it's one of those rare rounds where luka doesnt have any immediate upper hand on his opponent and the aliens are eating it up !! a dark knight to go up against their brilliant prince ? absolute genius.
but also consider : the producers dont want anyone else but luka to win. so they rig it :> the final score is a tie, but a gun is shot and ivan falls...
... just in time for the rebels to barge in :>
(so similar to canon!r7 ending except ivan wasnt reaching out for someone in the crowd and no one is cradling his head on their lap lmao)
why are alien stage fans allergic to happy endings? you guys arent vivinos, you can do what you can to give them happy endings...
i think unsha's coming in clutch and preventing this. that, or the show gets boycotted because they decide to off ivan. you know how rii7e's whole situation had the entire company boycotted by nations and people from other fandoms? that is happening.
the whole show would plummet in stocks, aliens pulling out their human pets from the program, protests and rallies ongoing.
im projecting my love for ivan, but also, i 100% believe this would happen.
its not like ivan can be brought back to life. till visits his grave, where fans constantly leave flowers; monuments are brought up to support ivan, flowers flooding each and every one. till remembers, quite clearly, how ivan died alone on the stage, reaching out for something. ivan looked lost, sorrowful, somehow relieved, and he hates it.
anyway, that's what's happening guys!!! ivan dies, aliens boycott alien stage and whatever else, and everyone is happy and alive.

I wanna attempt at drawing, but I have literally no clue how to start, so do you have any tips?
OUGH, we're not the right person to ask we just do stuff and hope it looks okay enough to post...
Personally though, the way we started was by watching tutorial videos (you guys would have better tutorials now, so this works out in your favor!!) and we kept trying over and over again until we got the product we wanted (This was traditional though)!! We also traced, alot, i mean the desperate press of the paper against the computer screen type tracing (again, you guessed it! Traditional practice!)
For digital, we just did whatever and kept hoping it would come out looking okay, we mostly learned from watching others and studying their artstyles and trying to replicate it so I have no advice for that either...unless that counts as advice...
We never really did the recommended things like studying (text book studies about poses and light and expressions and stuff) but you definitely should! Don't be like us cause honestly not knowing those things are a genuine struggle and makes art a lil harder than it needs to be. Also go crazy with your style! Don't stick to one thing, branch out, get silly, draw anime, draw cartoon, draw realism, draw whatever! Do illustrations, poses, character designs, perspective arts...
It helps a lot in the long run!!
And don't get upset with yourself if you aren't 'great' at it immediately, don't give up just keep trying! Don't compare yourself to others either! It's hard not to but instead try studying them, figure out what you could do better by looking at others!
Art is meant to be fun and silly! It doesn't need to be perfect, art is the most imperfect perfect form of media meaning it doesn't matter how simple or how complicated or messy or 'terrible' or glamorous the art is, in the end, it's all art, and someone out there is going to absolutely love it! Even when you don't sometimes! :>
They will see two cakes!
I hope this helps! Goodluck ♡!!

hey !! i rlly enjoy your fics ^^
i was wondering if a nanami x male reader would be possible? it could be Nanami's first time finding himself attracted to a man and him exploring his feelings 👀
hiiii and thanks! i finally managed to write this fic 😘 the week has been hectic but I'm glad I finished it. loved the request and hope you will like it!
Midnight Bakery
word count: 1.8k
tags: fluff, male reader x nanami
Mondays were usually a burden but this cute little bakery on the corner of the street just saved your morning. The thing is, you woke up too early, nervous before your first day at Jujutsu Tech, and found yourself having almost an hour of free time before work. After nervously adjusting your suit and peeking in the bakery’s window, you finally put your hand on the doorknob and came in.
“Good morning!”, a cute cashier immediately flashed a wide smile at you, eyeing your fit figure. You smiled politely back, thinking: “Honey, you are out of my interest. If you were a guy, though…”
“Can I have a black coffee and a…hmph, I’d like a sandwich. Got anything filling?”
The girl thought for a moment and smiled mischievously. “Actually, yes. We have a regular who usually orders this specific sandwich, but today, he seems to be missing his visit here. Guess I can offer you his order, it’s really good”.
With these words, she put a huge sandwich with ham and Brie cheese on the tray.
“Whoever the regular is, he has great taste”, you smirked and nodded, taking out the wallet. “It looks easy to replicate at home but tastes better in a cute little bakery like this one”.
The girl blushed a bit and you noticed her sneaking her phone number under the sandwich. You took the tray and smiled again politely, knowing damn well the number will go to the bin. As you were turning around, you almost bumped into a tall blonde man who was eyeing you with a burning glare.
“Nanami-san”, the girl babbled weakly. “I was not expecting to see you today”.
And suddenly, the puzzle in your head clicked. By the way this handsome blonde was eyeing your order, you immediately understood he was the mysterious regular. You also understood you just took the sandwich that he was most probably hoping for.
“Um… wanna share?” you asked in a suddenly shaky voice, pinned down by the beauty of his brown eyes.
*** ***
That morning, Nanami was not in a good mood.
First, he overslept terribly. Well, technically, he still woke up a few hours before work but he preferred to get to Jujutsu Tech early and to start at least an hour before everyone else. That’s why he always showed up so early in this bakery: to have his breakfast in peace.
Second, the night before he made a mistake of going out with Gojo and Shoko. And while Shoko was nice as ever, Gojo kept teasing him about the lack of love life.
“C’mon, Nanamin”, Gojo mumbled in a drunken voice (one light beer and the sweet blue-eyed boy was done). “Gotta get some girls. I mean look at ya, you hunk. Girlies looove blondiiies”.
Nanami just rolled his eyes, finishing his scotch on the rocks. He was well aware of how girls paid attention to him but frankly, none of them really interested him. Sure, he found certain women attractive but during his whole life, Nanami had never felt a “spark” with someone. And to be honest, he wasn’t really trying to find it. He was just going with the flow, seeing where life would take him in terms of love.
And now, early in the morning, he had this awful headache from the drinks, he was late and worst of all, he missed his regular breakfast in the bakery because apparently an unknown young man seemed to share his taste in sandwiches.
“Damn you”, Nanami thought as he looked first at the sandwich and then — at your face. A surprisingly attractive face, to be honest. Nanami caught himself studying your features, curious about the color of your eyes and how it would change in the sunlight. Hell, even your hair looked strangely attractive, styled in a bit messy but charming way. Altogether, you were a sight. A strangely enticing one, that’s for sure.
“Wanna share?”
Nanami frowned, forgetting about your charm for a bit. No, he did not want to share. What he wanted was to eat a whole sandwich in peace. And maybe have a coffee with you, getting to know you…
“Where did this thought come from?!”
“I’ll just have coffee”, Nanami said sharply, trying to hide his growing affection. He has never felt this way about men before. Not that he minded though. It was just… surprising.
He quickly grabbed his coffee from the girl at the counter and rushed to the exit, battling the desire to turn around and look at you one more time. It must have been the overall effect of that weird morning. That’s all.
Nanami tried not to think about your almost palpable gaze burning on his back.
Upon arriving at Jujutsu Tech, Nanami calmed down a bit. Coffee definitely helped and he found himself fully immersed in the usual workflow: papers, meetings, mentoring and such. After lunch though, he was approached by Ijichi and…
“You?!”
*** ***
You were lucky to get this job even if it meant being the assistant of Ijichi-senpai. Jujutsu Tech had high standards for anyone willing to work there and it was pure coincidence that Ijichi needed someone efficient and smart enough to help with the everyday paperwork and routine. And surprisingly, your first day went on rather well, until Ijichi decided to introduce you to a colleague.
“He is a wonderful man”, Ijichi said as you two walked down the hallway. “Very attentive and smart. Might be a bit harsh but that’s just his exterior”.
You nodded absent-mindedly. Your thoughts were still occupied with the man from the bakery. For some reason, you just couldn’t stop thinking about him. So you didn’t focus at first when Ijichi introduced, “That’s Nanami-senpai”.
And then you lifted your eyes. Here he was, a tall blonde with sharp brown eyes hidden behind intricate glasses, looking at you with a strange mix of emotions on his face.
You gulped nervously and bowed a bit: “Nice to meet you”.
He didn’t reply, studying you closely. After a moment, Nanami turned to Ijichi and forced a smile. “Quite a….hmmm good choice of an assistant, Ijichi. Hope to see you around more”.
Ijichi didn’t seem to notice the tension between you two and smiled widely. “Indeed, the kid is a package”.
“I bet”, Nanami said slowly, his eyes never leaving your face. “I bet he is”.
You felt his gaze, studying your every feature and detail. Nanami seemed to notice everything about you: the way you shift your body weight, the way your hair falls on your face, even the way your fidget your watch nervously. His gaze didn’t feel uncomfortable though. It was surprisingly pleasant, as if you were soaking in warm sunlight.
It felt like sharing a cup of coffee with a lover in a sun-lit bakery.
At the memory of the bakery, your face grew a bit hot and red. Nanami seemed to notice it and suddenly lifted a brow, smirking.
Did you have good breakfast today by the way? Work can be… tiring”.
Your cheeks burned again, pink blush creeping in.
“I did. Thanks for the concern”.
“Oh, no worries”, Nanami continued in a somewhat amused tone. “Just keep up the good habit of eating a hearty sandwich in the morning and you’ll be just fine”.
Ijichi looked at him in surprise but Nanami ignored him, smirking once again at you.
“I… have work”, you mumbled, wishing to escape his all-knowing gaze and feeling something electric and palpable forming in the air between you two. Not that you didn’t enjoy the feeling — in fact, you loved it. But it was a bit weird, sensing something so intense towards someone you’ve just met.
Nanami kept his gaze on you until you and Ijichi left the office. He remained deep in thoughts when Gojo’s voice interrupted his inner monologue.
“Yo, Nanamin. What’s the deal with that new assistant of our dearest Ijichi? I haven’t seen you being so friendly in like… forever?”
“Don’t you have things to do except observe me and my interactions with others?”
“Oh, I do”, Gojo approached Nanami and playfully poked him. “But I sense there is something extraordinary going on and I need to keep my eyes on the unfolding events”.
Nanami just rolled his eyes, getting to his desk and trying to ignore the impact of Gojo’s words. Extraordinary? Please. He never felt that way towards anyone, men especially. But something about you was different. Other people would say it’s annoying - Nanami preferred the term “intriguing”.
For the rest of the week, you didn’t really have a chance to interact with him. Ijichi had a surprisingly overwhelming amount of tasks for you and when you were not working, you were dragged around Jujutsu Tech by Gojo or Haibara. And while you enjoyed hanging out with them, you thought a bit too often about how lovely it would be to just spend a cozy evening with this damned blonde, sharing a loaf of freshly baked bread….
Friday finally came and you breathed out in relief. The week had been hectic, to say at least, and you couldn’t wait to stop by that little bakery and buy something nice to celebrate your first work week officially being over. As you stepped in the bakery at around 10PM, you noticed just a few people in and the same girl behind the counter.
“Good evening!” she greeted you with a smile. “Can I get anything for you? We have a few pieces of cake still left”.
As you started inspecting the cakes on display, you felt a gentle pat on the shoulder. You lifted your head only to meet the steady and warm gaze of Nanami Kento.
“Congrats on your first week”, his low velvet voice sent shivers down your spine. “As I heard, you did quite well”.
You just nodded, dumbfounded.
“Care to celebrate a bit?” His hand remained on your shoulder, his thumb brushing it lightly, as if Nanami was still undecided about it.
“I… yes. That would be nice”, you nodded again, smiling against your own will. Something about Nanami was just incredibly heartwarming.
“I just bought a machine for making bread”, he said suddenly with a tiny smirk. “You can take this cake though too. In case the bread turns out to be a disaster”.
You grabbed your paper bag with the cake, smiling widely.
“I’m sure everything you make is a masterpiece”.
Nanami now smirked openly, his features softening.
“Hope new…acquaintances fall under this category too”.
He suddenly took his hand off your shoulder and took your hand instead, his palm warm and solid. As pink crept on your cheeks, he just hummed and squeezed your hand. In Nanami’s mind, the long-time struggle was over. He was ready to explore whatever new and exciting future was ahead of him…and you.
“Let’s go then”, he pulled you slightly, gesturing to follow. And you gladly did, wondering how on Earth you ended up with the most perfect man holding your hand in a way that made your heart flutter.

Hey! I'm making a TFA visual novel, do you have any tips for the sprites? Idk how to draw very well
Hey! That's so cool!! We can compare notes on Animated and Prime! 🧐
Soooo, I'm gonna be honest about my experience drawing TFP characters. I only started drawing them again in January after taking a break since like 2021???
Before sharing, I'd like to remind everyone that this is a SAFE SPACE. Forgive my IbisPaintX transgressions 😔
This was among one of my very first attempts:
Drawing on your phone without a stylus and redrawing the same line like 10 times cus you just can't get it right feels like a modern rite of passage for artists 🫡
Basically, I had no idea what I was doing
...and I still kinda don't.
Something that will be your friend as an artist will be making art studies for the style you wanna replicate.
- Take some references from the show (screenshots, official art, anything)
- add it into a doc on whatever drawing software you use.
- begin breaking it down and labelling it! This works really well for using the eyedropper tool to note down colour schemes, and for outlining how you think the shape of various characters works.
I made some examples for my students a while ago. These are for OCs, so they're not direct screenshots, but the labelling and notes format works all the same:
Pick your reference, ideally one where things like baggy clothes aren't getting in the way of your view of the character:
Identify key shapes used (understanding shape theory is super important for a show like TFA that uses REALLY defined shapes):
Note anything important about how the characters are portrayed (how their personality is shown visually):
Aaaaand boom! You've made an Art study!
Of course, there's a lot more you can do with this format, but this is a straightforward one for a gamedev who doesn't have endless amounts of time.
After that, you just have fun drawing them in different poses and exploring the techniques that work for you!
(Yes, they are roommates, for anyone wondering)
Hope this was helpful!
More than likely that I'll make a video about it in the future while walking through my own process anyways 😊
Also, this is how I draw tfp characters now:
Looking back with Pride for my improvement! 🫡

If you're comfortable with sharing... What pen and color do you use for the lineart on your 80s cartoon style? 👀
Well I say if you're trying to replicate an 80s cartoon style then I would say firstly find what kind of style you're looking to replicate. For example I take inspiration from Don Bluth's style
His art doesn't really use a lot of line weight, in fact the lines are pretty light. Shape is also very prominent with his artwork as every character can stand out from each other and doesn't end up getting repetitive. I would say try to study different artists styles to help develop you're own style, see what they do to make their art stand out.
I use firealpaca as my drawing program, and in the brush shop there is a pen called pencil(leather) I use this pen but I alter it to the settings seen below
This allows for thin linework and for it to have a somewhat grainy feel giving it that more older feeling. As for color I don't use full on black, I use a sorta black but with a greyish pink tint. (As seen below)
And I also use a grey color for when I color using the same black as the main linework, I just recolor the original lines into the grey to keep it from becoming indistinguishable. I'll put an example so you have an idea.
Of course if you wanna alter these choices that's up to you! Experiment with whatever works for you.
I'll do a little demo to you can get an idea of how you can approach doing this process.
First I start with completing my linework, I may even leave a few blemishes just to make it look a little more "natural" cuz nothing is perfect
Then I color the lines outlines of any part of the characters that are black into grey so it'll look something like this (I colored the background white so you can better see the change)
Then next I colored the drawing accordingly and shaded it, shading just involves me using certain colors like a dark low saturated red and using the darken layer. But that can of course vary, I also as a slight gaussian blur to the shading as a stylistic choice.
Then through putting everything into a folder or merging the layers together, I duplicate the entire thing and on the top layer use the gaussian blur once again, and put it at a value of 5
On that same layer I lower the opacity down to around 50% so it makes the drawing look more like an old animation feel.
Then I add the finshing touches like the background, which is a color gradient and a texture overlay. A noise filter just to make it that much more retro. and a drop shadow beneath the characters because I think it looks neat. And after adding my signature, it's finished.
I hope this my advice and this lil demo helps with developing an old cartoon style. Sorry with how long this shit is, I just didn't know how to keep this simple and concise without confusion. If you have any questions then feel free to ask.

All the questions you wanna anwser
(this is from an old ask game)
1. When did you start creating art?
erm idk.... 2019 or so?
2. Do you do art in any professional capacity? (Graphic design, commissions, animation, etc.)
not yet but im planning on being an art teacher
3. What are your favorite subjects to draw? (OCs, your fan faves, etc.)
anime characters..........
4. What's your least favorite part of the body to draw, if any?
hands or really any part of the body that's in perspective
5. What piece of art are you still proud of to this day? (Show or describe)
i'm not particularly proud of any of my pieces but here are some that i still really like :) (i also really like that one mari & sunny lily of the valley piece that i'm not attaching directly bc i don't wanna trigger tag)
6. Favorite and least favorite angles/perspectives to draw?
i don't really have any... what's easiest is just straight-on, but that looks boring, so I can't realistically say it's my favorite... but if it's hard then I don't like it either.... sigh
7. Who are some artists that have inspired you?
see okay the thing is. artists that inspire me seem to always have an art style that i Can't Really Replicate. like i've seen so many of those painterly-style ethereal anime girls and pieces with the most gorgeous fucking colors ive ever seen in my life and they look SO PRETTY but i just Don't Understand Them At All 😭😭
so i'd say rixypill because recently i saw one of their art pieces and the amount of relief it brought me was insane. it was a gorgeous gorgeous art piece AND it looked like something i could realistically achieve. i didn't even really realize it but for such a long time i was trying to turn my art style into Something Completely Different and idk it just made me realize that i could make beautiful art Without having it stop being My Art
8. How would you describe your art style?
pink (with guest appearances from purple, orange, yellow, and blue)
9. What's the longest you've ever suffered from artblock?
several months
10. How do you deal with art block?
i don't <3 (I do challenges with predetermined prompts, and you can add deadlines if that helps you)
11. Have you ever drawn a meme with your OCs or canon characters from a fictional media?
yeah, i think i've made mini-animatics for like 2 vines. i don't do enough art shitposting tho
12. Ever participated in a multi-artist collaboration (3 or more) such as a multi-animator project?
i mean i did like 2 meps when i didn't understand what the fuck I was doing but i don't think those can really be counted........ i've done like art telephones and 3-person art trades but nothing really outside of that
13. What kind of art do you personally not see the appeal of, and why?
i think all art has appeal if you look hard enough
14. Do you prefer to make fan content or original content?
fan content
15. Do you/have you participated in Artfight or art trades in general?
i've done artfight in the past but i don't think i'll do it again because i'm usually really busy in july and even if i'm not i really struggle with doing anything for artfight 💀 i've done a good amount of art trades tho and if any of mutuals are interested in art trading with me feel free to ask :D
16. What was something you used to struggle to draw with confidence/ease, but have now mastered?
i don't think i've mastered anything really 😭 but i'm definitely a lot better at eyeballing colors than when i first started!!
17. Your personal favorite works of art (not made by you) are...?
there are lots of really awesome works in this world that i really like and if i didn't list like 500 different artworks i wouldn't feel like i'd answered properly so im gonna sit this one out lol
18. Do you typically use filters on your art?
yeah, i use saturation filters + gradient maps + blending modes at the end of every piece
19. What's your biggest insecurity when it comes to your artwork?
i have so many 😭 i'm in the "i hate all my art" stage of improvement rn..... aside from that, i hate that a lot of my art is so boring.... like there's not a lot of interesting perspectives or actual Meaning... that's the main reason why i made ychallenge! i want to make pieces that invoke emotion & mean something to me and aren't just there to look pretty
20. What motivates/inspires you artistically? (topics, emotions, etc)
fandoms mostly! if i was doing solely originally art i'd make maybe like one thing a year

HII !! first of all, u have some amazing art !! In fact, it is so amazing you inspired me to draw more ! By any chance, do you have a speedpaint uploade? I ADORE !!! your rendering and wanna try to replicate your renderign style, but failed ... miseribly once again, your art is amazing!
Thank you so much! Inspiring others is honestly the best feeling ever for me 💛✨
(Could I by chance see some of your works too?👀)
Sadly, I don't have a speedpaint... YET. I plan on launching a YouTube channel this May, to post animation, music and some other stuff. So speedpain is def on the list!
For now I can only describe to you in text how I render:
1. Sketch/line + colour filling. Then I also change colour of the line to be less noticeable
2. Combine sketch and colour layers (you can just copy the later that you get and save the original two layers if something goes wrong), fill it completely with a really dark color that you'd use for your shadow (never use black tho!!) and set opacity to your liking. Then use airbrush eraser to create depth by gently removing some of the shadow layer on the direction from which your light is coming
3. Then I usually combine all layers together (only for the character/object I draw at the moment, everything else stays separate), add light on the object with the light brush, add shadows with textured brushes, and methodically work around with different blending brushes. Also now I use some soft/aquarelle brushes to add outline to some details, creating illusion of line layer xd
This is some kind of base for me. Sometimes I just go crazy and do whatever comes to mind to create some unexpected effects. Never be afraid to experiment! You'll always get something uniquely beautiful ✨
Thank you again and wish you the best of luck with your works, fellow artist!

☆Welcome To My Gyaru Blog☆
♡ Intro ♡
Hiiiiiiii! My name is Jax, I’m 23 years old and from NYC! I’ve been gal for almost 2 years now. I don’t consider myself a vet gal by any means (obviously) but I’d like to believe that I have a good basis in the style and makeup! I don’t think my blog posts will be very formal at first but I want a space to share my opinions and document my journey.
I found gyaru and J-fashion through early Tumblr (around 2013/2014), and then rediscovered it in 2020 and fell in love with it all over again. I love gal because of how much tan skin is appreciated! Japanese gals created a space in a colorist society where you could say “I LOVE your tan skin!” I think that’s pretty amazing!!! I also love how gyaru as a style is very hyperfeminine but with a twist. Since becoming a gal, I have learned to care much less what people think. I’m not afraid to express myself or dress in a way that other people might not like. I am unapologetically myself and I partially have gal to thank for that! At first I was really inspired by Ganguro/Old School, I loved how early gals pulled inspiration from Western fashion trends, especially African American Y2K fashion. Though, I should acknowledge that there is a conversation to be had about appreciation vs appropriation, which I might talk about in a later post.
🌺FAQ🌺
I’ll answer some FAQ that gals get so you guys can understand a bit more about my personal philosophies on the style:
💄 Do you need makeup to be gal?
Yes, there are many, MANY different styles of gyaru makeup and all of them are valid, but the only thing that has stayed consistent across gyaru “substyles” is the makeup (and hairstyling/nails), but the defining feature of gal is the makeup. This is a sentiment that has been echoed in both the Gaijin and Japanese gal communities. You don’t need to wear heavy yamanba makeup every single day, it’s understandable that some days you might not have time or energy to do your hair, money to do your nails, ect. The important part is that you do these things as much as possible as well as incorporating gal into your life in other ways!
🌺Can you be gal if you’re white or not asian?
Yes, anybody can be gal!
👛Do you need brand to be gal?
NO. Even the most well known gaijin gals own Western fast fashion brands. A lot of similar items to the ones Japanese gals wore can be found second hand or in your local mall. Obviously, finding a dupe for an item can be difficult if that item has a specific print like the Alba Rosa coat and some MA*RS sets (though Shein did have a MA*RS dupe dress last year), but other than that a lot of gal outfits are easily replicable. Magazine scans are going to be your best friend if you wanna get the style right, it is much easier to get the gal look you want when you have a clear basis/inspiration for the coords and makeup you wanna wear. Also, simply owning brand is not enough to put together a good outfit, a lot of people who wear a lot of brand lack inspiration and originality. I am not anti-brand by any means. I have a huge list of brand items I want, and I even ordered my first brand piece recently (a MA*RS handbag). But it’s just not necessary, and some brands are essentially the equivalent of Japanese Charlotte Russe or Forever 21. The brands are still fast fashion and a lot of second hand brand items are falling apart, smell, have stains, ect. Don’t stress about brand unless you really want it! It took me almost two years to buy my first piece, you’ll be okay without it! Learning HOW to style, is a lot more important than WHAT you style. A good gal can make almost anything gal, but “bad” gal can end up making anything, even brand, look cheap and tacky.
(hint, hint: a lot of it honestly is and that’s why styling really matters)
Substyles I’m currently into and why!:
🦋Agejo🦋:
So, when you think of agejo, it probably looks something like this:
This specific type of agejo is what tends to be most represented on Google and Pinterest. Newbies to the style might think that pink, black, cheetah print, lace stockings, and big hair is all there is to the style. But boy would you be wrong!!!
Look at some of these scans from Ageha, most of these are from 2008-2012. Look at how many different types of agejo are represented! Of course the iconic pink and black MA*RS sets can be found in some spreads, but they’re much less common than most gals think!
See how different the above images are? Agejo literally translates to “butterfly lady”, so in a lot of Ageha editions, especially in the spreads for more formal dresses, you will see a lot of butterfly motifs! Isn’t it crazy that the style that has butterfly in the name, yet it isn’t commonly associated with butterflies at all? I also learned from my friend Haruka (@otknoharuka on Instagram) that in Japan, Agejo is considered a style under the Hime umbrella. It actually makes a lot of sense if you’ve seen a lot of ageha scans.
I know, technically you can argue that some of the outfits in these scans could be considered another substyle. But let’s just remember that substyles aren’t real and they’re something Western gals came up with to make sense of the scans/information that was available to them at the time!
I really started understanding this style more when I started to religiously scour Ageha scans. At first I was an Egg girl all the way but I’m glad I actually took the time to read other magazines. Egg is iconic but it’s far from all there is in terms of gyaru magazine inspiration. I totally fell in love with this substyle when I finally tried out the softer, more dolly makeup look that’s common in Ageha magazine (example below). It suits my features so much better than the harsher gal make I used to do.
An early attempt of mine at Agejo/Ageha inspired makeup:
A more recent attempt:
🐆Banba🐆:
Personally I’ve never been into more “out there” styles like ya/manba. I don’t think they really suit me, and it’s just generally not the gyaru vibe I’m looking for. But Banba has recently been resonating with me recently. If you don’t know, the term banba comes from combining “barbie” and “manba.” It’s a more toned down and hyper feminine version of manba. I also find that it’s more beginner-friendly than some other substyles (in terms of coords).
A lot of the outfits are composed of muted colors, tans/browns, black, white, and animal prints. These are all items that are very easy to find, it’s just a matter of learning how to style them! I also love how glittery the makeup is, and the nails are to die for. I’ve actually been teaching myself how to make nails and a big part of it is because I don’t feel complete without them, especially when doing styles like this!!
Some banba inspo I’ve pulled from recently:
Some recent attempts of mine:
I’m going to end this blog post here!! I had a lot of fun making it and I’m excited to do more posts in the future!! I think my next post will be a unpopular gyaru opinions post, might rial some people up but in classic gal fashion I simply do not give a fuck.
I hope you’re having an amazing day wherever you are!!
