Hi. I would like to know many things about your roleswap au bc I love it very much but I have no idea what to ask I just want to know many things bc my brain has been consumed already
uhhhhh I guess can you lore dump a little bit on backstories? Idk I just wanna know everything about this au
I will be back in your ask box for this au several times most likely
-Spaghetti Brain Anon
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE ASK!!! i am SO glad that i could get this au to live in someone else's brain rent free too. all i could ever ask for in life tbh i guess i'll infodump about character backstories, dynamics, character arcs, all that juicy stuff putting it under cut because HO BOY THIS IS GONNA GET LONG
as a heads up, take the timeframes i give you with a grain of salt, because i still havent completely figured out the timeline so first of all, vox!! he's a sinner, died in the 1950s, as per canon. he's a businessman, but less stable than in canon. he's always jumping from job to job, business to business, which results in him having a lot of connections with various people around hell. soon after arriving in hell, he met and became friends with alastor. cut to, i'd say around 7-10 years before the events of the story? alastor disappears without a trace during an extermination and vox assumes him dead. having now been personally touched by the effects of the extermination, the idea to try and solve overpopulation another way is planted in his head, but wont come to fruition until much later. in the meantime he meets velvette - finds her bleeding out in an alleyway after getting too cocky and trying to fight back to an exorcist (bad idea). he nurses her back to health, they become friends and eventually start dating, yada yada yada. one day vox and velvette find a funky little cat (keekee). keekee takes a liking to them and leads them to the old ruins of a building up on the hill on the edge of pentagram city. they figure out that the cat turns into a keyblade that can be used to magically build shit (only the hotel though, as keekee is the spirit of the hotel or??? whatever the hell the canon lore is idk???) vox finally decides to realize his idea to try and solve overpopulation more humanely - through redeeming sinners! his reasoning is, if angels can fall (as proven by lute and charlie), then demons can surely ascend, right? though he's not as sure or idealistic about it as charlie is in canon. he simply thinks it has a chance of working, and opening up a hotel means a bigger sample size than if he were to just try and get into heaven himself or something like that. besides, he wouldnt wanna go to heaven, he likes it here. also, im not sure where this is situated in the timeline yet, but he was in a band with adam, lute and possibly eve at some point? the band is called brimstone eden, as mentioned in the comic i posted. im not sure yet whether he was in the band prior to eve's disappearance or after it (eve disappears 7 years before the story starts to mirror canon lilith). swap!vox, like his canon counterpart, is a very reactive person. he follows trends, he's extremely go-with-the-flow to a fault. he never really had any strong beliefs until the hotel - his character arc mainly involves him gaining something to believe in and learning to fight for that belief, 'ready for this' being more or less the culmination of his arc. jesus christ i cant believe i wrote that much JUST on vox. *slaps the top of his head* this boy can fit so much lore in him
now, velvette... she's how you'd expect her to be. same old brave, arrogant velvette. she's a fashion designer and seamstress and runs a moderately sized business which she promotes on sinstagram. she's mutuals with val there, which is how he finds out about the hotel. there's not much to write home about when it comes to val - it's insane how similar angel and him are. like literally barely anything changes when you swap them, it's very clean. he's a prn star, sold his soul to angel dust, yada yada. though a bit on his dynamic with vox - vox is very good at reading people, and doesn't like being lied to (he's a bit of a hypocrite in that regard - he puts on a facade all the time when in professional settings). he can clearly tell val isnt doing as good as he pretends he is, and wants to help him really badly, but val just sees it as vox pitying him and rejects his help (its what they fight about in ep 4, as a counterpart to the whole "charlie going to the studio" thing bc vox wouldnt do that) and now here's the fun part - ALASTOR! oh, alastor, you beautiful stuck up bitch! so turns out, he's not so dead after all! he ALMOST died in that fateful extermination, but husk found him and offered him a "give me your soul right now or bleed out in this alleyway" type deal. of course alastor chose the former, but boy he's not happy about it. he's extremely ashamed of how far he's fallen. so ashamed, in fact, that he hid from the world for those 7-10 years! yeah! he's only pulled out of hiding when husk summons him to be the bartender for the hotel. vox is of course, extremely bewildered and demands answers. alastor doesnt give them and avoids him instead. it takes a sincere conversation with valentino in ep 4 for alastor to finally talk to vox again and explain himself. alastor is basically in extremely deep denial of just how fucked his life is. he clings onto his radio demon persona like a lifeline bc its the last thing that can help him feel some semblance of control over his situation. his tension with valentino is twofold - first they butt heads because of opposing personalities, and second because they both see the other's bullshittery. it's a clusterfuck it eventually bubbles over in ep 4, they both admit how absolutely fucked they are and are friends now. wish i could say more on al & val bc i love them very much but it seems ive run out of eloquency for now. though i know i'll draw some comics of them eventually so maybe it'll come across better in comic form. anyway as mentioned above ive run out of eloquency and im honestly not sure how coherent this whole thing is so you'll have to come back for the other characters some other time, dear anon! until then, thank you so much for the ask once again, and have a nice day/night :)

I honestly hate how the fandom treats Michael as a hero and I'm seeing posts about it so I feel a liiiittle better talkign about it
my moots are holding back, i can tell. but hes my favorite so im not. and im a little pissed writing this bc. bc i relate to cc a lot. and seeing ppl mischaracterize not only my favorite character but also someone who reminds me of people who fucking suck drives me INSANE.
so psa, im pissed as fuck and i love michael afton.
First off, he killed Evan. That's obvious. Not only was that literall 100% his fault (NOT WILLIAMS IT PISSES ME OFF WHEN PPL MAKE THAT ALL ABOUT WILLIAM SHUT THE FUVCK UP
he was a bully. yeah he was a kid. yeah he was messing with him. Have you considered he was literally. abusive to his brother. i know the fnaf fandom is scared of using that word to describe him but its fucking true. he was abusive. as fuck. that was awful what he did he wasnt just a bully he harassed him and literally locked him in his room. he was fucking horrible.
and yeah, he didnt mean for that to happen, but not only was that stupid as fuck, i hate any interpritation of "he wanted to be like his dad" "his friends coerced him" PLAY FNAF 4. PLAY FNAF 4. FUCKING PLAY FNAF 4 LOOK AT HIS DIALOGUE AND WHAT HE DOES
HE LITERALLY. EGGED IT ON. IT WAS HIS FUCKING IDEA. WHAT PART OF THAT GAVE "he was coerced" THUSHFUDFUDSIOFDUSOFDSIOS
im trying to be normal
Yeah he probably felt like shit after. yeah it probably was some sort of motivator behind his actions. but lets think. lets think.
fnaf 1 and 2 take place before SL, no? So. if thats true. why didnt he burn those down? to "free the souls?" because it was never about the children.
he burned down the fnaf 3 location to get rid of william. it was ALWAYS abotu william. sure he set the kids free but i reeeeaaallyy dont think that was his intention. it was always about william.
in sister location, did he go there out of the kindness of his heart? no he went there because william asked him too. it was ALWAYS about william. and yeah he probably wanted to help liz, he probably really wanted to help her, but based on his actions, was this really for her? or was it for closure
thats something about michael that i put in shitty brother. closure. he didnt actually want to reconcile with his family, he wanted closure on the guilt he felt. is that 100% wrong? no. its normal to want closure, especially after something like that. but also that should not be his goal
did he apologize? yes. he said sorry. he felt bad, sure. but when you kill someone tehy dont come back. evan deserves to never forgive him ever because that was dumb as fuck and HORRIBLE. IT WAS HORRIBLE. ABUSIVE. ILL SAY IT AGAIN
MICHAEL AFTON ABUSED HIS LITTLE BROTHER FOR NO FUCKING REASON.
yeah. abused. say it with me. A-B-U-S-E-D
not just bullied, not just harassed, ABUSED.
ik we're all scared to say it here but its fucking true. say it with ur chest.
this always came back to william. do i thinkk michael is unfeeling and doesnt care about his siblings at all? NO! I think his siblings drove a lot of his actions. but in the end i dont think he always acted with their best interest at heart. or the mci kids'
and the whole "he wanted to be like his dad" i dont fucking care actually. no seriously sit down beside me and tell me that wanting to be like his dad is an excuse for abusing his brother. seriously come closer i wont bite.
tell me how you think that AS A TEENAGER, 100% AWARE OF HIS ACTIONS, that wanting to be like his dad justifies abusing his little brother. his little brother. who as far as we know, never lashed out, never fought back, never did anything to him. tell me how he fucking deserved that
"Michael was just a kid!" so was Evan. So was Elizabeth. So was Cassidy and Charlie and all the kids who died.
tell me how much michael did that didnt revolve around closure and his father. like i get it, he had priorities, but can we please stop acting like he's some angel working for the greater good of everyone.
it feelslike how ppl treat fucking henry. NO HES NOT A GOOD PERSON PLEASE
MICHAEL IS SELFISH HE'S MESSY HE'S STUPID. HE MAKES BAD CHOICES IN FAVOR OF HIMSELF HE PRIORITIZES REVENGE OVER THE GREATER GOOD HE HURTS PEOPLE AND IT MAKES HIM SO MUHC MORE INTERESTING
oh and also in case anybody wants to pull dittophobia out and tell me how mike went thru that trauma
so did evan. and instead of bonding over that trauma, michael harassed him. ABUSED HIM. wording is important. im sorry for repeating myself so much, but nobody ever tells it how it is. it was abuse.
edit: People seem upset by my wording and honestly? fair. i couldve worded this a lot better but i was tired and irritated and one thing i will clarify
i dont care if u dont see adult michael the way i do. i see him as a selfish obsessive guy whos intent is to fix his family, but plenty of people see it differently and thats okay! /gen
but im not taking back anythign i said about teen michael. because i think to do that is unfair to his character and frankly bullshit. i think its bullshit. and i dont care if you disagree. he was a terrible brother and thats that
but adult mike is free real estate idk idrc abt him as much as teen mike.
#tzu rambles#fnaf#michael afton#fnaf 4#not tagging discourse bc i dont think this is discourse lol. just my thoughts

I think a lot about another version of DR3 where it goes more in depth into a story where Junko grooms class 77 into becoming more susceptable to despair by utalising their talents their status and their own insecurities before brainwashing them .
I always think about Mioda in this situation. I want to know more about her relationship to Maizono. I don't think its fully confirmed that they really had anything to do with each other, but it would've been easily explained considering they would've been in the music scene at the same age. Mioda started as a pop singer, even got recruited by an idol talent group before she went her own way. With her own very elitist views on music, I just think it could make a very interesting relationship between the two of them.
I always imagine them with some like underlying tension. Not so much a rivalry but something difficult neither of them have ever really spoken about. Sympathy is a Knife - Charlie XCX vibes. That Mioda doesn't want to be her, and couldn't be her even if she tried, but feels jealous and insecure around her regardless because of how much more successful Maizono has gotten in the same amount of time. I can see some bitterness coming in from Mioda's POV too. She's a proper metal elitist, so she'd see it as Maizono getting ahead by just following the status quo and making ""easily digestible brain dead music"" whereas she could view her own art as ""real"".
Maizono would be able to sense this tension and feel unsure about it, not wanting to back down to someone who looks down on her, but also feeling her own jealousy in her own way about how free artistically Mioda gets to be whereas Maizono, as an idol, is mostly bound to whatever her company deems to be "comercially viable". Despite how much trust I'm sure her company puts in to Maizono and her group, that's a constant. That's just what it means to be an idol. Plus, if there was a moment where they were training together and got along, then I'm sure Maizono would imagine another line where they could've performed together. Now they don't and wont ever. Maybe it's a bit bittersweet. She wouldn't know that Mioda is insecure and feels jealous of her, I don't think she'd even think it for a second, but she'd know theres something there and wouldn't know how to fix it, or if they even need to. What would be the point in fixing it? They don't mean anything to each other anymore.
But its always there. And because of this uncertainty none of them address it. Just has the makings of a really interesting and complicated artist to artist relationship.
#oh pee#danganronpa#ibuki mioda#sayaka maizono#i was listening to brat again ok it makes me think#i actually like the brainwashing thing btw. and i love how important dr3 made chiaki to class77. i think it makes her role in SDR2 stronger#but thats just me#dont sleep dont eat keep (bumpin that)#that being brat - charlie xcx#im too lame for cocaine unfortunately.#well im writing a fucking essay on two danganronpa characters that dont fucking meet so that goes without saying really doesnt it LAOIJHHOI

My Thoughts If Weird Al Voices Charlie’s Dad In Hazbin Hotel
well if Weird Al did end up voicing Lucifer Morningstar from Hazbin Hotel,
I know it would brighten my day, cause well even if he doesn’t know that we are technically family, I think it was a few years ago that I found out that we are distant cousins on some family tree place...
and well besides the whole Walt Disney and Jim Henson, he is one of the few distant family members from the tree, that doesn’t embarrass the family.
Lady Godiva’s husband is a embarrassment, I like that I’m a descendant of Lady Godiva and it is kind of funny the whole “Peeping Tom” is thanks to her and some guy name Tom, maybe if he did go blind maybe some Angels poked his eyes but wasn’t there some info that said that Tom guy had died after peeping on Lady Godiva....?
also even if I do find out I’m distant family to some famous people or like some royal families, doesn’t mean they know me or my family that has been around me for most of my life, so I can’t do any favors like at all that has to do with them.
but try telling someone who wont listen and thinks I can help with getting in contact with them, so they can pitch their ideas....once again, NOT possible.
it be interesting if there was a drawing where it has Wreck-Gar from Transformers Animated, and on his head is sitting Charlie Morningstar’s Dad Lucifer, and on his shoulders is Cheese Sandwich from My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic, and a cartoon version of Weird All is on Wreck-Gar’s right or left shoulder.
all while one of the songs of Weird Al Yankovic’s songs plays in the background, like the Polka Face song.
maybe weirdness runs in the family, but I don’t know if he would end up becoming the voice of Charlie’s Dad or not, one can only dream XD
earlier I think I was feeling a little down but also tired too, I did mention it at another place, and boy do I got a lot to say about my disgust with some parents and judges from Michigan, yeah there are some sickos from different parts in the states, but I wouldn’t of known about well how screwed up a certain thing that goes on over there, if it weren’t for finding out about Med Chicago.
I hope the people in Michigan who has some common sense and know people like that Reverend, need to be stop....
[Feel Free To Skip Down To Where It Goes Back To Talking About If Charlie’s Dad was voiced by Weird Al Yankovic.]
if that Reverend was a real person and not just a character, I would want to punch his lights out, I mean if I was strong enough to do that...
and I would like to kick him below the belt.
even if it is good that the legal age to get marries is 18 years old, but that doesn’t give idiot humans the right to break that freaking legal age rule by doing such disgusting idiocy of stupidity.
well it isn’t like they will be going to Heaven, so it is likely they will go to Hell.
even Reverends like that character from that Med Chicago, at least when I went to Hell in one of my past lives, it wasn’t really my choice and it was because of some stupid humans who were all Toxic-Satanist.
this is probably one of the reasons why Earth Angels, should NOT be placed in families that will just end up doing that cr*p.
it sucks knowing that in one of my past lives, I was born into some Toxic-Satanist Family, then again it would be bad being reborn in any Toxic-Religious Family that crosses lines that should NEVER be crossed, not just those who are Toxic-Satanist.
that Reverend from that Med Chicago, is so a Toxic-Reverend and should go to Hell for his disgusting inhuman filth ways.
also I know that even though the me that is now (and not the versions of me from a few of my past lives), wasn’t born yet during a time when two people in my family had married, and one was 14 and the other was 17, doesn’t mean it was right, and the parents and the people who was giving them the okay to do so, should of at least known better, but they didn’t.
at least they weren’t my parents, I would be ashamed of them.
I guess I do have a bit of Daddy issues, I mean there are a lot of people in this world that might have either Daddy or Mommy or Renny Issues.
wonder if I should count my Soul-Dad as part of those Daddy Issues, well a soul fragmenting and the fragment becoming a baby soul, would be some form of Soul Asexual Reproduction.
also I can’t remember the name of the video or the channel, but I know it showed some jerk who didn’t seem to get that Asexual Reproduction and Asexual as in the Asexuality, are TWO DIFFERENT things and are of course not the same.
oh yeah, and if some percent of humans today are descendants of Nephilim and the Watchers, then yeah they can be added to the Ancestor Daddy Issues as well...
the Grandpa Watchers, Grandpa Nephilim and the Grunkle Watchers and Grunkle Nephilims aren’t the boss of me.
and I would flip the double birds at them if I was allowed to....
I’m still procrastinating in checking to see if my blood type will come out the same as it did the last two times, so checking to see if it will do so for a third time will have to probably wait a little longer....
it’s not like I mean to put it off for so long, all I know it’s suppose to be O RH D Negative, and I know my Mom has the same blood type, well except the “D” part in there, and I like to think of the D part as Determination like from Undertale.
I can say that my blood type is full of Determination.
I think maybe the reason why I picked Demi-Goddess as part of my new tumblr name on here (well it has mystical and deltarune in there as well...)
maybe because it is suppose to be like funny ironic, I don’t know, something that is suppose to be funny and sarcastic but not really to be taken seriously?
I know there is this one org place, that has some info on the different blood types...like how O RH D Negative is The Most Ancient Blood type and O RH D Positive is The Second Most Ancient Blood type. and it is in the same org place, that talks about the Grail Children.... I guess I could say the name of the place, it's called templeoftheola.
even if O RH D Negative is part of the whole Grail Bloodline,
I think it is possible that I am just gonna be a distant cousin of Jesus, I mean yeah I can believe there can still be a slim chance and small possibility that he could end up being my Ancestor as well, but at least I know it is still possible he isn’t my Ancestor and is just a distant a cousin.
if he were my Ancestor, there will be need to be some form of proof, like DNA or family tree showing it is true.
but “Grandpa” or not, don’t mean I will agree with him crossing a line if a certain info is true, which I hope it isn’t true.
and yeah just recently I had started to get thoughts that I can’t trust all Masculine Angels, at least when they get into that whole Toxic kick of theirs.
even if there might be some I can still trust, who aren’t being insensitive jerks.
but still, yeah it can be bad when Feminine Angels could get all Toxic just like the Masculine Angels....
I mean would it hurt some of the Feminine Angels to like stop some Toxic-Feminist from going all Hazard-Karen...?
like those three little girls that Bart Simpson thought were cool, but they were just three brats who wouldn’t know real equality if it slap them over the head.
they are just as bad as most boys, at least when I’m Semi-Misanthrope it includes women and not just men...
and even if I am not very powerful, and I am a Defective Earth Angel.
but I know I did have some thoughts that if Jesus and Satan did cross a line,
like some info saying that Jesus would start a war between nations and some other info, which I kind of hope that info isn’t true, I mean I found it on some place that is called Gods and Demons, it’s a fandom place.
even if it is just a thought and I know I am not powerful to do so, but if Jesus ever did cross that line that says in the info that’s in his bio on that Gods and Demons Fandom place....
well the thoughts I have is that I would avenge the Earth and Humanity by starting Omniageddon, it’s a weird thought, but even if there are bad people in the world, there is good people as well.
like the Stronger Than You Parody, that has Rose Quartz singing Stronger Than You.
I am Her Knight, I am Their Shield...
even if some of that info I found before, might possibly be true, doesn’t make it right, and I don’t want him to cross that line.
if Heavenly Father allowed it, I would take both Jesus and the Antichrist by the ears, I mean yeah I had thoughts about just taking the Antichrist by the ear, but if I was allowed to, I would do the same to Jesus if he so much as cross that line.
Earth might not be perfect at times, but how is it suppose to get more better when he tries to do harm to it, and I don’t think Earthly Mother would be too happy with that, and I am on her side.
I can still believe in God/Heavenly Father, but I don’t agree with his son crossing a line.
it just adds to one of my reasons of wanting to go live with the Goddess/Earthly Mother...
I can still believe in Jesus, but at the same time not when he plans to do something really REALLY bad....
anyway, enough talk about that mess, let’s go back to talking about well the possibility or what if Weird Al voicing Lucifer Morningstar from Hazbin Hotel.
I think it be interesting if Weird Al voiced Charlie’s Dad, but we know the chances of that happening are very small...
and you know, the real reason I had signed on here, before hearting some fan art on here and deciding to talk about my thoughts on Weird Al voicing Lucifer Morningstar from Hazbin Hotel, and even some of my thoughts and feelings about that other stuff....
I had signed on, so I could block someone named Erin, even if we don’t know each other but I have my reasons and I rather not talk about those reasons right now. [Editing This To Say That I Decided To Not Block Them, but it doesn’t mean I wont in the future if I’m given another reason to, right now I will not block them, at least for now, I can only hope that the fanning the flames does stop soon.]
after I do what I need to, I can check out some more art on here.
later I plan to play Undertale, and give Frisk and everyone a permanent happy ending with no more Resets.
I had made a Mii to look like Frisk for a Offline User Account on the Nintendo Switch, I had started out naming the fallen human Frisk, and once I had spared and showed mercy to Toriel, and after Hard Mode was over with, I could Reset and change the name to Chara.
but after getting the True Pacifist Ending, where everyone is happy on the Surface, I’m not going to Reset the Timeline for a second time in that one that has the Mii-Frisk, which has the name “Frisk” on it.
I can still play Undertale and Reset and play it all over again on the other that I play it on, but I want to give one save version of the game, a permanent happy ending, where everyone that was free from the Underground, wasn’t pulled from the happy ending timeline and sent back to the underground.
if it was a AU, I would call it Novembertale or Novermber’s Mercy.
of course tomorrow it will no longer be November, but I had started the new timeline and made that Mii-Frisk on November 29, 2022.
after I do get that happy ending in that one offline account, I wont play Undertale on that one again, maybe just well open up to it once in a while just to check the numbers of the save and the ending title that says “The End”, I don’t know.
I can still play Undertale on the Nintendo Switch, but that one where it has Mii-Frisk will only have Undertale’s True Pacifist Ending, with only One Reset, and the other times when Frisk/Chara gets a Game Over and ends up going back in time before it happens.
plus even if I wont play Undertale on that Mii-Frisk one after I get the Happy Ending where everyone is out of the Underground, I could always play Deltarune on it whenever I want as well.
I just like the idea of giving the Monsters from Undertale, a Happy Ending where they wont be pulled from the surface and placed back into the underground.
and if my plan works, it would mean that version of Frisk would of never fought Photoshop Omega Flowey, and only fought Asriel The Hyper God Of Death.
anyway even if I did try to do some Mercy in the Hard Mode of the game,
I kept having a little trouble, and had to show a no mercy, expect to well a few like Migospel and Toriel, so lucky the LV had stayed at LV 3 after finishing the Hard Mode.
but after doing the Reset, I made sure not to [Fight] and only [ACT] and [MERCY] to the Monsters, or like run away if I need to.
earlier today I was trying to fight Mad Dummy, but my Fluffy Baby was in the way, so I couldn’t watch out for half of Mad Dummy’s lackeys properly.
I will try to fight Mad Dummy later, well without pressing [Fight] and try as best I can not to get a game over and wait for Blooky to show up.
I wonder if any other fans of Undertale have thought of this...?
like still playing Undertale and doing the resets, but making fully separate save from their other saves and giving another version of the Monsters and Frisk a Happy Ending where there was only One Reset that happen when changing the Fallen Human’s name from Frisk to Chara.
even some versions of the game characters we love from Undertale,
deserve to only experience One Reset, and be able to stay on the surface without being made to go back in the underground.
so that is my weird plan, I will get back to work on doing that later.
I can’t wait to see the new chapters of Deltarune, I mean I can but you know what I mean right...?
each of the new chapters will be worth the wait, just like how it was worth waiting for Bendy and The Dark Revival.
of course I have only watched a walkthrough of that game, and it might be a while before I can get that game.
I can always enjoy it by just watching the walkthrough of the game, even if I can’t play it right now.
anyway even if I and maybe a few others might think it be awesome that Weird Al ended up voicing Lucifer from Hazbin Hotel, it doesn’t mean it will happen.
it is just wishful thinking and hopeful dreams, sure we got lucky when the same guy who voiced Zim from Invader Zim ended up voicing that precious cinnamon roll Moxxie from Helluva Boss.
but that doesn’t mean we are gonna get lucky with the whole Weird Al voicing Charlie’s Dad from Hazbin Hotel.
it just seem like a great idea if it did happen, and if Lucifer from the show ends up singing in Weird Al’s voice, you know that is going to be something.
like picture a fan art short short comic, where Lucifer is giving one of his speeches when a Sinner Demon/Former Human speaks up and calls out
“Sing the song White and Nerdy by Weird Al Yankovic!!!”
that would be the best thing to happen, and it be funny too.
it might amuse Charlie and Lilith that some Sinner/Former Human, is asking Lucifer to sing the song White and Nerdy by Weird Al Yankovic.
and well I know that as soon as there is a official design of Mammon from Helluva Boss shows, I am so going to do another drawing of him wearing a shirt that says “This Dork For Rent” with a drawing of a arrow pointed up at his face.
I like the idea of one of the nicknames for him being Manny.
if Asmodeus can have Ozzie as a nickname, than well maybe Mammon will have nickname in the show as well, even if it might not be Manny.
and if Lucifer from Hazbin Hotel is a goofball and silly, then Weird Al voicing him would fit very well and match his personality.
but even if I and few others would like to see that happen, having Weird Al voice a character from Hazbin Hotel or even Helluva Boss, it doesn’t mean it will actually happen, we can just have that wishful thinking and just like the idea of Weird Al voicing Lucifer from Hazbin Hotel.
not everyone has to like the idea about Weird Al voicing Charlie’s Dad,
and it’s okay that it’s just me and a few other people who like the idea of Weird Al voicing Lucifer Morningstar from Hazbin Hotel.

Alright so, here’s how things are gonna work.
First off, welcome to this side blog. Since it won’t be jolly fun fandom content and will be a little more personal I decided to separate my health and writing journey from my fandom stuff, although all my fandom content will still be linked on my main blog here.
(I write Izuocha/bnha content which isn’t super popular so if you’re not here for that then yeah, I don’t blame you. But if you are I have a link to our discord and community content pinned so def check it out if you’re interested.)
Secondly, you guys will hear details about stuff relating to my health like what kinds of things affect my disorder based on the tests some doctors are ordering, how I’m trying to improve my diet and activity, and routines and goals I’m attempting for myself. I am underweight, and that’s something I’m going to be talking a bit about, so if that’s triggering following this blog might not be the best thing for you. Details under the cut.
So, what kind of disorder do I have and why did I decide to make a health journey blog? My disorder is called idiopathic hypersomnia. Basically what that means is that when my disorder is acting up (based on factors like stress especially or my generalized anxiety rearing its ugly head) I have the capacity to sleep. And sleep and sleep and sleep and sleep. My longest recorded uninterrupted “sleep-attack” was 26 hours long and ever since I caught Covid in January, my body had been slowly growing weaker to the point I was starting to develop atrophy. I’ve had this ten years and my neurologist suspects inactive cells from mononucleosis I caught at 14 was the cause, because other IH patients have linked their sleeping problems to a case of mono or have had it at some point in their lives.
This disease stole many years and many things I’ve looked forward to from me. I lost friends and experiences and failed so many college classes I had to drop out.
I’ve decided I’m taking them back.
It’s not going to be easy. Just as it took ten years to convince myself that my tiredness was something I chose to give into, it took several extra years and many fights with my family to convince them that I had a real actual neurological disorder and that I need help sometimes. My parents and grandmother finally understand that I have to finish college and find a very special boss willing to work around my erratic progress on projects, but the outsiders they married are not as convinced. My grandmother’s husband kicked me out of their house because he wants to be the center of attention and doesn’t like that some days I’m so weak that I needed my grandmother’s help, and my father’s wife thinks I’m a lazy and ungrateful leech who “gets anxiety just being around” me. Both told my father I’ll never be happy so why even bother with me, but my dad is actually striving to understand his own recently-diagnosed PTSD so while we still butt heads he’s understanding that I have to take things day by day because every tiny circumstance affects my disorder.
Now, why did I decide to air all this out? Well, being open about my disorder and how it affects me has helped at least two people that I know of find out that the tiredness they experience isn’t the typical “American work force exhaustion” they were trained to believe is normal. So if I can help even one more, I’ll gladly talk about what this entails and how I deal with it day to day. Another reason is that I’m also one of those big advocates who believes talking candidly about mental health destigmatizes it and sharing ideas can help us grow as people and maybe make it a little easier to deal with.
So now that you know a little bit about me and my disorder, here are my big goals for the next three months provided my university takes pity on me and actually lets me go back.
First up: create routines to train my body to get used to living a full day fully awake. This includes waking up at the same time and going to sleep at the same time. It means getting dressed and going out and doing things, even little things— which I’ll get to in a sec.
Second: I write. I have a novel in limbo and I write fanfics. Writing is a big part of who I am and I’ve written one thing this year, which for a whole six-month stretch is upsetting and disappointing. Today is my reset. In the next 569 days I want to to finish the six stories I have in limbo (except the larger one) and finally reach my goal of posting 200k words in a single year. I wont be hard on myself if I can’t accomplish this because honestly finishing anything in the chaos of my life is going to be a miracle but. There ya go.
Third: go back to freakin college. I don’t care what it takes. Sit down with every official, every lawyer, and every professor it takes to get me back enrolled in classes in the fall.
Fourth: I have several smaller things I have to do, short term goals, stuff like that. I’m gonna create a to do list each day of small tasks I want to get done and while some of these things will be part of my daily routine I am throwing in like one or two things a day that just need to be done. My writing goal will change daily and I’ll keep y’all updated on that with every post I make.
Now, I know what you’re thinking. Dani! That’s so much!! Well, a few months ago I remembered hey!! I basically have a computer in my hand, why make it hard on myself. So I downloaded certain apps to help me out. This isn’t me saying “hey go subscribe to these apps because I said so” it’s just that through a lot of trial and error I’ve come to find that these certain apps work for me and I’ve yet to come across one that has the functionality of everything I need.
Tiimo — so this is an app I found developed by people with autism for people with autism to help them develop good habits and routines. It has preset daily schedules (things like morning routines or nightly routines or work routines) and an internal alarm to let you know when to move on to the next task. I myself have extremely low-level aspergers (to the point where my doctor won’t give me an official diagnosis because I didn’t want people think that *it’s* the reason I have issues with school), so moving from task to task can be difficult sometimes and I also deal with getting distracted. This widget also appears on my home screen so I know what I have to do at a glance. You can program in weekly and daily tasks to fully customize your schedule, which is fantastic for someone like me who wants to for example rotate chores. This is hopefully going to help me get my body in the habit of adjusting to routines and transitioning from one task to another, as well as getting important things done responsibly.
Promptly Journals — I’ve been told for a while that journaling is helpful mentally to kind of recenter yourself, so a bit ago I downloaded several journal apps to add to my morning routine. Now some will prefer more creatively free journals, but I prefer this one that gives me small prompts I can do in a short amount of time that just allows me to get my thoughts down. I can even add pictures at the bottom that go with the theme! I’m scared I’ll run out of prompts eventually lol but until then this app works very well for my needs.
Stretchingexercise — Now idk if it’s from lack of sleep from my disorder, the position I sleep in when I do sleep, all the physical labor I’ve had to do in the past couple weeks, my medicine, or w h a t but I suffer from body aches like no one would believe. I know stretching is supposed to help with that, so I downloaded this app to help me do non-demanding physical activity that wakes me up in the mornings and helps relieve pain so I don’t keep having to take pain relievers. This one has different plans for things like muscle tension, back pain, warm ups— and it also gives you rudimentary weight updates (I’m underweight lololol so we’re looking to fix that) or plan updates. It’s worked really well for me so far and gives you animations and descriptions of the workouts (some taken from yoga) as well as timed breaks and a narrated guide. It’s been pretty helpful in temporary relief and if nothing else gets my blood flowing in the mornings.
Widgetsmith Step counter — in addition to the stretching thing one thing my doctor and I discussed that helps with the sedentary lifestyle is simply walking. I’ve needed so bad to relieve my stamina and reverse the atrophy, and walks have been stellar for that. Now I live in the New Orleans area so humidity and heat force me to go at the crack of Dawn, but honestly my weenie dachshund Charlie really enjoys our time out so he goes with me! The CDC recommends 10,000 steps a day which seems like a lot and it is if you don’t get out much. But this gives me an excuse to get dressed and do the hygienic thing and help Charlie be healthy too, as well as give me time for brainstorming because we walk in a truly beautiful area. I’m sure everyone installed widgetsmith with the last iOS update (Apple users anyway) and while at first the step counter was just interesting I’ve since come to rely on it! We do our 5000 in the morning, which of course is half, and I find that other things I do throughout the day typically drive the counter higher. Anything leftover can easily be accomplished by an evening walk in our neighborhood. Now the caveat is that I have to remote have my phone in my pocket because I don’t own a watch or anything fancy lol, but honestly I need to keep it on me anyway so that serves as a good reminder.
Todoist — this one is my FAVORITE. Ever since I’ve decided that I have trouble keeping track of things I need to do and small stuff I need to keep in mind and appointments, etc, I decided to find a list app. This is the one I found that absolutely helps me for everything from my list of room supplies I need to buy, to my reading list, to general tasks I have coming up I need to complete. And its widget functionality keeps it right on my Home Screen! More organized individuals can just use tiimo, but I’m definitely not one of those individuals so this app is sorely needed and appreciated.
And of course, I know building habits the first few weeks is HARD. So for days my body doesn’t respond to my alarms, I have a checklist of the key things I have to do to keep my life as functional as possible.
So that’s that on that. I’m going to try to keep writing updates and my daily goals in a post in the morning, and reblog what I accomplished in the evening. It’s gonna be tough. But I’m thinking if I can start small I’ll be able to build my stamina enough to return to college and be successful when I do. I hope that anyone watching this journey draws some kind of meaning or inspiration from it. And you guys can even follow along if y’all want! Especially for writers or people trying to get healthier. I can’t promise what works for me will work for you (and honestly I expect things to change especially if I get accepted into college again) but hey, I figure it’s worth a shot.
I hope you guys enjoy watching this journey, if nothing else I hope it’s entertaining. And maybe it’ll be successful. I do know that I’m just gonna try for it, and hope it works out.
First daily update to follow
Xoxo
Dani

Can I request headcanons for the hazbin hotel crew (separately) dealing with a human on hell? They were sent by some kind of ritual of their 'church' ,against their will, and now they're a tiny human surrounded by big scary demons. It takes a while to get used to them and eventually fall in love. I love your headcanons!! Especially the ones with Alastor! Your writing is amazing!💗💗💗
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoy what I'm going! Anyway here you are! Some of the characters warm up quickly so I hope you dont mind. I just couldn't see them being cold to the reader! So enjoy!
Charlie:
• When you first showed up, she honestly freaked out and called for Vaggie.
• Feels really bad for you, but she makes sure not to pity you.
• You were just so sweet! How could they do something so horrifying to you?
• Honestly warms up to in an instant!
• You're just such a good person! It's really sad because if it wasn't for your church you'd probably would have gone to heaven.
• She was going to have you stay at the hotel as a guest for free, but you insisted on doing something, so you work with Nifty to make sure the place is clean.
• Before she knows it, she's fallin in love with you, your honest, and happy-go-lucky personality.
• She couldn't help it, especially when you made the best of this horrible situation your church put you in.
• She really wants to go up there and hit her church upside the head. Like wtf was wrong with them for sending such a beautiful angel down to hell?
• But if they hadn't she would have never met you soooooooo...
• She'll definitely stare at you from afar and the second you look her way she'll panic and pretend she wasn't staring at you and was reading a book. (You know, the one shes holding upside down)
Vaggie:
• Definitely the coldest towards you.
• Tbh she thought you were a demon pretending to be a human at first, but it becomes clear that you're not.
• After gaining her trust, she'll be a lot kinder towards you.
• You'll get an actual smile every once in a while.
• She'll definitely fall in love with you when you yell at Alastor for making her uncomfortable.
• Not only do you have guts but you also stood up for her.
• She loves that.
• She doesn't understand why your church sent you here, but she's glad that from every human they chose to sent, they sent you.
• Once she realizes she likes you, she'll be even more kind and she'll actually have a decent conversation with you!
Alastor:
• His first reaction when he met you was to corrupt you. Get you to become a sinner.
• He was still be himself. Being creepy af, completely untrustworthy, and all smiles- except he would not touch you.
• He'd wont shake your hand or anything. If you try to touch him, he'll give you this creepy as stare/smile and scary ass static will play in the backround.
• Although all plans to corrupt you and fuck with you immensely throw themselves off a roof the second he sees you with Nifty.
• You're being friendly with her, smiling with her, laughing and joking around.
• You look beautiful doing so. And it warms his heart.
• He'll act exactly the way he did before towards you, in fear you'll catch on, but instead he'll actually give you a handshake! Progress, yay!
Angel Dust:
• He found it extremely interesting. He's never fucked a human in hell before (that's quite obvious), so he'd make it his mission once he's gotten over the initial shock to bang you.
• So toooooooons of flirting.
• Lots of sex jokes added in as well.
• Will not take no for an answer. I mean he wont push anything but he definitely wont stop until you say yes. (Which isn't happening anytime soon)
• Nifty will screech at him when he flirts with you around her, it's the only time he's not flirting with you.
• What actually got him to fall in love with you was when some creep starting flirting with you and you told him off with sass and insults. And you looked hot doing it.
• Also hinted at the fact you didn't mind him flirting with you since you only ever replied with sass so bonus!
• He wont ever tell you, he's a bit ashamed by it, but he's glad that church of yours sent you down to hell.
• He'll act the exact same except his words will actually having meaning behind it, and he'll stop flirting with everyone else.
Husker:
• He completely didn't give two shits about you when you showed up.
• Oh a human? Who gives a flying fuck.
• If you try talking to him he'll give you a nasty look and continue drinking
• He'll only start talking to you once everyone else gets comfy with you being there (or if you pester him enough)
• He'll find he actually quite enjoys speaking with you. You're not a complete idiot or annoying (*cough* Angel Dust *cough, cough* Alastor *cough*).
• You even bring him some cheap booze! How could he hate you after that??
• He'll fall in love with you over time. It's all the little things you do. Bring booze, letting him get a break and taking over his spot, telling Angel Dust to stfu and go away. Everything.
• Once he's like "oh shit I can love" he'll be sweeter towards you. Not by much but in small ways. (Like offering you his booze, even though you never take up the offer)
Nifty:
• Nifty was ecstatic to meet you! She loves making new friends!
• She was a bit wary but when Charlie warmed up to you, she warmed up to you quickly!
• She likes when you bring her snacks and treats after she's finished cleaning. It really makes her day!
• She also loves that you try to keep things neat so she doesn't have to clean it!
• She really fell in love with you when you brought a new board game for you two to play together!
• Now that she likes you, shes glued to your hip! She wont leave, so you're stuck with her! You have to force her to stay outside the bathroom door when you have to go, but she'll be waiting for you.
• Whenever she's not cleaning, she's with you! And she adores when you help her clean or watch her!

Can’t Go Back Part 2
A/N: This was a lot of fun to write. It’s a long one so grab a cup of tea and a snack before you tuck in. I hope you like it! Word count: 7117
I was never the type to break the rules or have secrets. Not from my family or from my friends. I was the good girl, on track to do “great things” as my granddad said one Christmas. My friends were the ones who did the fun stuff. I was the girl who got dragged to parties with a book in my bag and hung out with the pets in the corner. So, you can imagine my parent’s surprise when at sixteen, I came home after a night out with friends at one of those parties and had nothing to say. I simply went upstairs to my room without popping into their room to say goodnight. I’m sure they thought something horrible had happened to me. In reality, it was the furthest thing from that. Something really amazing had happened. And that something was named Montgomery De La Cruz.
Our story was complicated from the beginning. We ran in opposing crowds. Our friends disliked each other. Our families were very different. We argued like cats and dogs. We kept the relationship a secret from everyone in our lives until we couldn’t take it anymore. Even then, we were extremely selective about who we told. The first person we told was Coach Kerba. Monty trusted the man probably more than he had ever trusted any adult in his life. He had noticed a change in Monty’s behaviour that his friends were either too scared or too stupid to notice and mention. After many discussions about what telling even one person about our relationship would mean, we agreed to tell the coach. The day after our agreement, I met Monty in the fitness centre after school and practice ended. He was still in the locker room when I arrived. “Hey Addison. Justin just left, but I’m sure you can catch up to him if you hurry.” Coach said, expecting me to be looking for my best friend.
“Oh, actually I’m not here to find Justin.”
“Is everything okay?”
I was nervous, so I tried to avoid looking him in the eye, “hmm? Oh, yeah. Everything is fine.”
The door opened and I turned my head, my eyes widening slightly. I relaxed when I saw that it was just Monty.
“Hey Coach, can I talk to you for a minute?” Monty asked, clearly very nervous, though he tried to mask it.
“Sure, Monty. What’s up?”
I shared a look with Monty, unsure of what to say or how to begin. We hadn’t really discussed who would say what or how we would explain anything. I rubbed my arm awkwardly and looked at my feet. Monty coughed. I could feel a blush creeping up my face and neck. He smiled a cheeky little smile at me, and I immediately knew what he was going to say, “it’s not cute so shush you.” I muttered as my blush grew deeper.
“You’re wrong but sure. You keep telling yourself that Addy.”
“Oh, I see. This explains a lot.” Coach Kerba cut in, interrupting our little moment. My blush only intensified, and Monty’s eyes widened.
“Explains what Coach?”
“You’ve been different lately. I haven’t had to keep as much of an eye on you. Or tell you to get your shit together as often. Your game is still good but you’ve chilled out a bit.”
“I told you so.” I grinned at him. Monty paused.
“D-do you think anyone else has noticed?”
“Anyone else being the rest of the team? I highly doubt it. They’re more interested in… well I choose not to think about what forty teenage boys are interested in, unless they bring an issue to my attention.”
I snorted and tried to cover it as a coughing fit. “Um yes, well… maybe that’s a good thing. But good. No one has noticed. That’s… good. On that note, I have to go meet Charlie and talk about his game last week.” Monty mumbled, awkwardly, before kissing me on the cheek and walking out of the room.
“Hey Addison?” Coach Kerba called as I made my way out of the room.
“Yeah Coach?”
“Keep him in check, alright? You’re good for him.”
“I’ll do my best Sir.”
After we told the coach, we decided to wait a few days to let our nerves and discomfort settle before telling anyone else. We agreed to tell our families last, given his dad’s tendency to be an actual crap shoot of a parent, and my dad’s willful ignorance to the goings on of my life. Monty and I met at Monet’s during a slow time to discuss how we would tackle telling our friends. He watched me nervously stir my latte with a cinnamon stick for a few long minutes.
“Are you really okay telling people Addison?”
“Huh? Oh. Yeah, I am. I’m just nervous is all. I mean, Justin is my best friend. And to be quite honest, he hates your guts.” I took a tentative sip of my latte. “And Clay. I’m not really sure what he thinks of you, but I know it’s not a very good opinion. And we both know where Alex stands.”
“I know they don’t like me Addy. But I also know that if they really are your friends, they wont care. Justin has been your best friend since you were nine. He loves you. A boyfriend isn’t going to ruin that, and if it does, then it’s his loss not yours.” He paused and pointed to my rice crispy square. I nodded and he took a bite of it. “Also, I don’t care if they don’t like me.”
“What about your friends?”
“My friends?”
“Yes. You know, those people you spend time with? Of your own free will? Those friends?”
“Scott will like you. Charlie will want to be your new best friend. Bryce can think what he wants.”
“And you know they will like me because…?”
“Scott likes me for some reason, so he will like you. Charlie is just nice like that. Bryce will think what he wants because it’s Bryce and I can’t change that.”
“Do we have to tell Bryce? Do you really think he would be okay with you dating the nice girl? Do you really believe he would keep his mouth shut about it until we were okay with him saying anything? Look what he did to Hannah. He ruined her life because of a picture Justin took. And now… now she’s just gone. I don’t want him thinking that he can do shit like that to me.”
Monty contemplated that for a few minutes. “I guess you’re right. He’s my best friend-”
“Scott is your best friend.”
“Okay, fine. But my point is, he’s my friend. Even still, you might be right about him not keeping this on the dl as much as we want.”
“So, do we just stick with Scott and Charlie then?”
“Sure. If that’s what makes you comfortable. I’m not going to be all chummy with Alex and them though, if that’s what you think.”
I laughed, “Oh God no. I can’t even imagine how that would go. No wait, yes, I can. I would have to separate you.”
With that sorted out, we made plans to tell our friends about each other. Justin was arguably going to take it the hardest, having dealt with Monty the closest, though Alex was a close second due to their tumultuous history. It was going to have to be like ripping off the band-aid. Get in, tell him, hope the scab doesn’t come off with the pad and it doesn’t all go to shit. After I got home, I texted Justin.
Hey, you have plans tomorrow night?
No why? What’s up?
Just curious. Did you want to go for coffee at Monet’s? I want to talk to you about something.
Sure, just need to double check with Mom and Dad. Is everything alright?
Yeah, everything is good.
Alright then. I’ll check at dinner and let you know.
I decided to do some cleaning to distract myself from my nerves until Justin texted me back,Good to go. Meet at five?
I texted Monty to check that that worked for him and he agreed so I texted Justin back to give him the okay.
***
I ran home after school to drop off my bag so I could beat Justin to Monet’s. Monty was going to meet me there in case all hell broke loose and I needed to stay with Justin. The drive over was uneventful and faster than I would have liked, as I was running over what I was going to say in my head. So, you know how I’ve been distant lately? Well it’s because I’ve been seeing someone. This someone. Monty. The guy you hate. No. That’s stupid. Justin, Monty and I have been seeing each other for a while. Sorry we didn’t say anything. No, that’s worse. Um, maybe I should just kiss him. What? No brain. Bad idea. Very bad idea. Shit, I’m here.
I checked the clock on my dash and saw that it was quarter to five. Deep breaths. Everything will be fine. I played with my keys for a while, debating if I should hightail it out of there. Thinking better of it, I made my way inside. My nerves were causing tunnel vision and my heart was beginning to race. Looking around, I spotted Monty sitting at a table near the back, my latte already sitting with the cinnamon stick. I waved to him discreetly and motioned to the counter. Maybe ordering for Justin would soften the blow. I got his coffee and a lemon bar for good measure. “On second thought, make that two lemon bars and a cinnamon twist please.” I told the barista. Now the man children won’t fight about the snacks. I made my way to Monty’s table carefully, so I didn’t spill Justin’s coffee. My hands were shaking so I had to keep stopping. Arriving at the table safely, I set the coffee and snacks down, before plopping into the chair next to my boyfriend with a dramatic groan. “I don’t want to do this Montgomery. This is going to be so not a good time.”
“Just relax Addy. Everything will be okay. I’ll be here the whole time.” He said, placing his hand on my knee. I stirred my cinnamon stick anxiously into my latte, staring into the disappearing design. Monty placed his hand on my hand to stop my fidgeting kissed the spot behind my ear. I could hear him whispering sweet nothings to me, but I was too immersed in my coffee to listen to what he was saying. That was, until I heard someone clear their throat uncomfortably. It’s now or never. Just don’t puke Addison.
I looked at his shoes first, in an attempt to delay the inevitable. Monty squeezed my knee and I decided I had to stick to my word and rip off the band-aid.
“Hey Justin.” I said, awkwardly.
“Hey Addy.” He replied.
“I got you a coffee and a lemon bar….”
“I see that. Thank you.” He pulled out his chair and sat down, stiffly. Monty watched us stare at each other to see which of us would point him out first. I sipped my coffee and Justin took a bite of the lemon bar. Now’s my chance. Rip it off.
“Monty and I are dating.” I said, the words running into one as I spoke. Justin choked a bit and coughed, taking a sip of his cooled coffee to clear the blockage. Monty barked out a laugh, though I’m not sure if it was at what I said or Justin’s reaction.
“I assumed. You’re not the type to let guys just touch you and kiss your head.” Then the full implications of what I said hit him. “Wait. What? You and Monty. Monty and you.”
“Yes, otherwise why would I be sitting here?” Monty spoke for the first time since Justin arrived.
“Wasn’t talking to you, was I De La Cruz?”
“Watch it Jensen.”
“Oh, I have to watch it? She’s my best friend. You should be the one who has to watch it.”
“And I’m her boyfriend.”
“Boys.”
“You know what I think Monty?”
“Please, enlighten me Justin.”
“Man children.”
“I think-”
“Both of you shut up.” I said, my voice raising slightly. I looked around to see if we had drawn attention. People seemed to be minding their own business, thankfully. “Monty, please be nice. Justin, I will explain if you keep your mouth shut for five minutes.” They were both silent. “Thank you. Now, I understand you are surprised, but you need to relax for a minute. Yes, Montgomery and I are dating. We have been for a few months now.”
“A few months? How did I not notice…?”
“Turns out I’m good with secrets.”
“You’re not that good with them Addy. Why didn’t you say something before?”
“Because Justin. Would you have reacted any better than you are now?” His silence was answer enough. “Exactly. On top of that, we didn’t want to tell anyone. We wanted this to be ours for a while.”
“Who else knows?”
“Besides you? Coach Kerba.”
“You told… Coach Kerba? Why?”
“Um. Because?”
“Because why?”
“Because I actually like him.” Monty said.
“Okay. That’s nice for you, I guess. I still don’t get why.”
“Because he’s like the only adult who gives a shit Justin? Have you not noticed that he actually cares about what’s going on with us? Coach Rick couldn’t care less. He cares about winning the championship by any means necessary.”
“You make a good point.”
“No one else knows Justin. We would like to keep it that way for now.” I told him, softly.
“Are you telling the others?”
“Yeah. Not right now though. I wanted to tell you first. You’re my best friend.”
“I know.” He smirked playfully. He directed his attention to Monty, “you’re not going to tell Bryce, are you?”
“No. We talked about it. But no.”
“Good. Don’t tell him. The less he knows about you two the better.”
“I realize that. He isn’t on the list.”
“So who are you telling?”
“Scott and Charlie.”
“Hmmm. Okay. When are you telling your parents?”
Monty and I looked at each other. I tried to mask my panic by taking a large mouthful of my coffee. “We uh… we haven’t decided. Friends first. Then we will worry about parents.”
“Your dad is going to freak.”
“If he decides this is worth caring about.” I muttered.
“You’re dating Montgomery De La Cruz. He will say it’s worth caring about.”
“That remains to be seen.”
“Are you going to sell tickets? I’d pay good money to watch that.”
“No Justin. It will just be me, Monty, mom, and dad. No spectators.”
“Damn. If you change your mind….”
I rolled my eyes. “Does this mean you’re… okay… with this? Us being together?”
“Yes. But I’m not hanging out with him. That’s not going to happen.”
“I agree.”
I stopped to think for a moment. There is no way my other friends will be this okay. He’s okay with it because he is my best friend. I can’t tell them…. I have to talk to Monty about this alone. Justin will understand… I think.
“You still with us Addison?” Justin asked.
“Yeah. I was just thinking. I’m glad you took this so well.”
“I mean, it caught me off guard I will admit that. But you’re my best friend Addy. You’ve stuck by me even when I wouldn’t have stuck by me. You got me through my mom, and detoxing, and moving in with the Jensen’s, and through rehab. I wouldn’t be here without you. I wouldn’t have pegged Monty as your type, but if he makes you happy, then that’s all I can hope for. However, if you hurt her, I will break you.”
I laughed at his redirect and tapped Monty’s shoulder, “that’s not going to happen. Would be an interesting scene, but highly unlikely.”
“Still stands though.”
“No, no, I get it. You want to protect her.”
“I do.” He checked the time, “I better get going. Dad made a roasted chicken for dinner and Clay has given up on the whole ‘he grew up with instability, so I need to save all the food for him’ thing.” He stood and reached down to hug me. I stood and hugged him tightly.
“You won’t tell Clay, will you?”
“No, your secret is safe with me. Don’t worry.” With that, he grabbed his bag and left the café, in search of Mr. Jensen’s famous roasted chicken.
I switched seats with Montgomery, so we were sitting face to face now. We sat in silence for a while, holding hands under the table and drinking out now half cold beverages. I decided now was probably the best time to bring up my reservations about telling my other friends about us. I scratched my arm, once again at a loss for words and panicking slightly
“Would… would you be okay with it if we… if we didn’t tell everyone else? Like my friends, I mean.”
Monty coughed, caught off guard. “Why wouldn’t we tell them?”
“Because they will hate me. And-and I know they won’t take it as well as Justin did. They will freak out.”
“But won’t they freak out more if you don’t tell them and they find out even later?”
“I would rather ask for forgiveness than permission Monty. They won’t understand. They will think this is just a fling. Or you’re just waiting to get me into bed and then you’ll leave in the morning, never to speak to me again.”
“I’ve already gotten you into bed.” He said, a triumphant smirk plastered on his face.
“I wasn’t exactly going to tell them that. It’s our private business.”
“I know. And I can assure you, this is no fling. Do you think I would be sitting here after talking to your best friend if it was a fling?”
“No, I don’t think that. But they will. Do you want to tell everyone else at school? Because I have a feeling you don’t.”
“Not… not really, no. It’s none of their business. They’re all nosy pricks to begin with. I don’t need them taking this and running with it and making it something it isn’t.”
“Exactly. I don’t want that either. And that is what is almost guaranteed to happen if we tell the rest of my friends. I love them. But they will have opinions that they will make very well-known and I don’t want to have to defend my choices to people I have no intention of seeing after graduation or outside of English class.”
Monty sat and thought for a moment, “Alright. We tell Scott, Charlie, and our parents. Everyone else can shove it.”
We called it a night shortly after our decision and I texted Justin to let him know.
Hey you. We decided not to tell the rest of my friends. I hope you understand. I hope you aren’t mad. I know you and Clay don’t have secrets, but it would really mean a lot to me if you kept this one.
Okay, I get it. It’s your relationship, tell who you want. Your secret is safe with me. Have a good night Addy.
You too Justin.
Next on our list was Scott. I know Scott from classes we have shared and around school, but we aren’t exactly friends. More like acquaintances who share common interests. Or at least, common interest. He just, doesn’t know it yet. Monty texted me Sunday night to let me know that Scott agreed to chill with him after practice. At which point we could tell him about us. I wasn’t sure how Scott would take it. I wanted to assume he would be okay with it, but I know what they say about assumptions. From the interactions I had witnessed from across the hall or in the cafeteria, he seemed to genuinely care about Monty. But public interactions only tell you so much about a relationship. I would know.
Monday morning, I got ready as usual and went about my day. By lunch, I felt my nerves setting in. You don’t know Scott. For all you know, he could be just as bad as Bryce. Justin noticed my anxious demeanor and pulled me aside when the bell rang.
“You okay?”
“Yeah. We’re telling Scott today and I don’t know what’s going to happen.”
“Scott is a good guy. He will be okay with it.” He assured me as he pulled me into a tight hug. The hug relaxed me enough that I could, at least, make it until the end of the day before practice when I was able to sneak in some boyfriend time.
I started shaking again the closer it got to the end of the day. The bell would ring at 3:20 and then it was an hour and forty minutes until the end of practice. I made a beeline for the back of the bleachers as soon as the bell rang. I was pacing back and forth when he arrived a couple of minutes later.
“Justin caught me and said you might be panicking. Come here.” He said, pulling me from my thoughts and tight against his chest. I breathed in his cologne and laundry soap scent. It calmed me immediately and I nodded against him.
“Okay. I’m good. You go to practice and I’ll meet you here after everyone leaves.” He gave me a quick kiss and ran off to the locker rooms to change.
To my surprise, when I looked up from my AP English Lit novel as I heard footsteps approaching, Monty was tailed by both Scott and Charlie. A little warning would be nice. Oh well. Might as well tell them both since they’re here. The two men looked confused as to why they were being dragged out to the secluded end of school property. Once they spotted me, I could tell Scott was beginning to put the pieces together.
“Hey Addy.” Monty said as he grabbed my book. “The Book Thief. AP English, or reading for fun?”
“Hey! I was reading that. It’s for English. Now give it back.” I scolded, feigning reaching up for the book.
“Nah. You need to learn to relax and live a little.”
“Fine. Have fun doing my reading assignment for me too then, smarty pants.”
He looked panicked, gulped, and handed it back to me. “Thank you.” Having achieved my goal, I finally turned my attention to the boys in front of me. “Hey Scott. Charlie.”
“Hey Addison.”
“’Sup Addy?”
“Ah, you know, pursing greater knowledge. Annoying my boyfriend. The usual.”
“Boy-boyfr-Monty? Huh.” Charlie stuttered.
“Cool. He needs someone to keep his head on straight.” Scott joked.
“I try my best.”
“Awesome. Are you guys like, telling people?”
“No. Just you guys, Coach, and Justin.” Monty spoke up.
“And our parents.” I added, mildly displeased at the thought.
“Well that’ll go well.” Scott said.
“I’m glad you guys are happy. Speaking of books though Addison, did you finish the reading for History?”
“Yeah. It was just about the driest thing I’ve ever read, why?”
“I was wondering if we could go over it? Make sure we are on the same page and right track?
“No problem Charlie. Meet me before class tomorrow morning?”
“Sure thing.”
Scott and Monty looked at each other, perplexed.
“What just happened?”
“I think your girlfriend just made a new friend.”
“Alright then. This went well.” I tried not to eavesdrop as he went on, “you’re okay with this?”
“Yeah of course man. If she makes you happy then I’m all for it. Carry on. Let me know how it goes with your parents and if you need anything after though.”
“I will. Thanks Scotty.”
We bid the boys goodbye after some quiet conversation amongst ourselves. “I think that went well.” I mused.
“Yeah. Now we just need to tackle the issue of our parents. Whose idea was it to save the hardest people for last again?”
“Don’t remind me. I’m not exactly chomping at the bit to meet your dad. And I know you’re not thrilled about meeting mine. Our moms should be okay though. I hope.”
“Weekend problem?”
“I think so. I need a breather from telling people for a few days. I’ll see if you can come over Friday after school?”
“Okay. You should be able to come by Saturday some time.”
“Looking forward to it. I’ll see you tomorrow, okay babe?”
“Yes, you will.” He said, wrapping his arm around my waist and pulling me in for a kiss. I was not, in fact, looking forward to meeting his parents.
The week passed in a blur. The only thing of note was my parents saying Friday worked for a friend to come over. Friday arrived much faster than I would have liked, but here we were. He had been to my house when my parents went out of town so there was no need to find him after school to give it to him. We agreed in the morning that we would meet at my place right after school so that if it all went to shit, he wouldn’t have to be subjected to dinner as well. If all went well, he was welcome to stay on the condition he helped me cook. I sat in my car and tapped my fingers nervously on the steering wheel. So far everyone we told had taken it very well. It will be fine. In any event, dad won’t kill him at least. Breathe. Relax. It’s fine. You’re fine. I was pulled from my thoughts by Montgomery tapping on my window. I pressed the button to lower my window and waited for him to speak.
“Are you going to sit there all night, or are we going to do this? Because I think it might be a little weird if I go in there by myself.”
“I’m coming. I just had to think for a minute is all.” I took another deep breath, “okay let’s do this.”
I stared at the door for longer than necessary before unlocking it. They’ll just come and open the door otherwise. Mom will think I forgot my key. I need to be ahead of this. I put my bag down on the chair and motioned for Monty to do the same. If everything goes well, we can do homework before dinner. Or I can vomit and he can hold my hair back. Either or really. We shared a look at the odd silence. “I’m home.” I called.
“I’m in the office sweetie. Your dad got stuck in traffic so he will be a few minutes late getting home. Offer your friend a drink or something, manners remember?”
“That’s great mom thanks.” I called again. “Manners, right. Hence you are in the office when we have company.” I muttered quietly. Monty bit back a laugh.
“Why do I feel like I need to whisper?”
“Because your introduction to my mother was literally her telling me to remember my manners and offer you a drink. Would you like one? A drink I mean. Soda was on sale, my dad likes off brand soda for some reason, so we have Twist Up, Sprite, multiple different types and flavours of Coke, Diet and regular Cola, Dr. Pepper and its off-brand counterpart, and Canadian iced tea from Mom’s girls trip last week to Vancouver. It’s not actually half bad. We also have juice and water.” I said as I led him through the main floor and dug around in the fridge.
“I’ll try this mystical foreign iced tea.”
“Sure thing. Would you like a glass?”
“Yeah that works.” He said getting up to grab one. When I gave him a look of panic, he raised his brow, “shit sorry.” He whispered. “what cupboard are they in Addison?” he asked, slightly louder than necessary.
“The top left beside the sink. Could you grab me one too?” He nodded and I opened the can for him. Grabbing the pineapple juice for myself, I poured a glass before going to get my book for English. He smirked at me. “What? I need to finish this book by Tuesday, and I’ve been a little distracted recently.”
“You? Distracted? Who are you and what have you done with my-”
“Who’s distracted?” My mom asked as she came into the kitchen. She looked at Monty and smiled kindly. At least she might be okay with this? “Hello dear.”
“Oh, I just have had a busy week is all. Assignments and papers have been taking away from book time. Not a worry Mom. I’ll have it done.”
“Hello Mrs. Hawthorne.”
“Call me Margot. My mother in law isn’t here. I can’t say I miss those days. I’m sorry, you are?”
“Montgomery, ma’am. I’m a friend of Addison’s.” He stuck out his hand for a shake. Who is this man and where did he come from? Mom took it and shook firmly.
“Sports or trades?”
“What?” I asked, not expecting that to be her first question.
“The callouses on his hands. Are they from sports or trade work?”
“Sports, ma’-.” My mother gave him a look, “Margot. I play Junior Varsity football in the fall and Junior Varsity baseball in the spring.”
“How wonderful. Are you good?”
“Coach Kerba says I’m one of the best defensive backs he’s seen in years. Coach Rick, well he doesn’t make his opinions on players as well known. I’ve heard talk of scouts coming next year but we will have to wait and see.”
“Well if your coach knows as much as I would think he does, then I have a feeling you’re going places. Did you want a snack before dinner? Brooks should be home soon.”
“I’m alright, thanks though.”
The three of us made quiet conversation while we waited for my dad to get home. Around 4:30, we heard the garage door open and I took a deep breath. Here we go….
“Sorry I’m late guys. There was an accident on the highway back into town so traffic was backed up like you wouldn’t believe.”
“We are in the kitchen Darling.”
Dad came in and set his briefcase down on the kitchen desk that mom wanted for some reason and grabbed a bottle of water from the fridge. I held my breath and resisted the urge to grab Monty’s hand. “Hello Addison’s friend.”
“Hello Mr. Hawthorne.”
“Brooks, please. Your name?”
“Montgomery, Sir.”
“Fine name.” Dad didn’t move to shake his hand. Monty wasn’t quite sure what to do. We fell into a very awkward and tense silence. I shared a look with mom, and she shrugged. When I turned back to dad, he seemed to be sizing Monty up. Oh boy. Monty and I looked at each other, his expression guarded. He nodded subtly, giving me the okay. Now or never. Just say it. Deal with the fallout after.
“He’s not my friend.” I blurted out. At my parents perplexed looks, I continued, “I mean, he is. But he’s not… not only my friend. He’s my,” I paused and took a breath. Monty put his hand on my knee to calm me. I started again, “he’s my boyfriend.” I closed my eyes, waiting for the inevitable explosion.
“I-I’m sorry it sounded like you just said this boy is your boyfriend. Implying you have a relationship with him. A relationship that is more than friendship.”
“Brooks….” My mom started, placing a hand on his shoulder.
“I am, Sir.”
Dad took a long sip of water before he said anything more. “Alright then. What would you kids like for dinner?”
“That… that’s it?” I asked.
“What more would you expect me to say Addison?”
“I don’t know. Maybe something along the lines of ‘how fast can you get the hell out of my house’?”
Monty laughed, “For the record, probably quite fast. JV sports and all.”
I gave him a playful incredulous look, “oh shhh. What do you want for dinner? We have things other than soda, I promise.”
We decided to do roasted pork tenderloin. My parents went to talk amongst themselves while Monty and I made dinner.
“I think that went well.”
“That was just the beginning. Don’t worry. There will be more to come. He will question you.”
“Lovely. What kind of answers is he expecting?”
“The kind that make you seem like a good person.”
“Oh, well in that case.” He muttered sarcastically. “You’re saying I shouldn’t tell them how I corrupted their precious little angel?”
I hit him playfully with the kitchen towel, “no you most certainly will not.”
He cornered me against the counter and leaned down to place a soft kiss to my lips after making sure my parents were occupied, before I could protest.
Dinner was a quiet affair for a time. We filled the silence with inane questions about sports and school. Finally, dad cut the random questions to ask Monty the big questions, “so, Monty. What are your intentions with my daughter?”
Monty choked a bit before speaking, “my intentions?”
“Yes. What are your intentions in dating my child?”
“I intend to make her happy. For as long as she will have me. She makes me feel like a better person.”
Dad mulled that answer over in his head before accepting it for now. “Have you put any thought into your plans for after graduation?”
“I’ve heard talk at practice and games that scouts are interested in me, so we will have to wait until next year for any more information on that. As far as schools I’d be interested in; LSU, OSU, and Penn State are in my top five.
Ole Miss is really good too. Their scholarships are good.”
“What would you study?”
“Maybe something in business? My dad is a tradesman but it’s not something I would necessarily want to do. If ball doesn’t work out, I don’t know if I’d want to work with my hands and be reminded of my dreams failing, you know?”
My dad hummed in response. The rest of dinner passed without incident. We confirmed plans to meet at Monet’s to grab a to go coffee before going to tackle his parents the following evening as he left. Happy joy. I can’t wait.
Monty could tell I was dreading this evening’s introduction. “You grip that cup any tighter and you’ll break it bookworm.”
I relaxed my grip slightly, “I know. I’m just nervous. I know they won’t like me.”
“Well if it makes you feel better, my dad doesn’t like anyone.”
“Now isn’t the time for joking Montgomery. I’m scared.”
He rubbed my arm gently, “I know. I just don’t know how to help is all.”
I smiled, unable to give him any answers.
We got to his house faster than I would have liked. I shook a bit in the passenger seat as he parked.
“Just have to rip off the band-aid, right? It’ll be over before you know it.”
“Mhmm.” I squeaked.
“I’ll be right here the whole time. You have nothing to worry about.”
His mom greeted us at the door, thankfully. “Hello dear. We are so glad you could come.” She said, smiling.
“Hello, Mrs. de la Cruz. Thank you for having me over.”
As we walked into the house, his father nodded at me from the table. Don’t look too happy there now man. She looked at her son expectantly.
“Oh, right. Mom, dad, this is Addison.” He paused to look at me, asking permission to go on. I nodded very slightly. “She’s my girlfriend.” He continued. He grabbed my hand and squeezed it as I awkwardly looked around the room. Someone please say something.
“That’s wonderful dear.”
His father merely grunted a gruff, “hello.” To me. This is going to go swimmingly. We stood in awkward silence for a while. Monty’s mom finished dinner, she declined my offer to help, while Mr. de la Cruz watched. I feel uncomfortable for her. After dinner was served and the usual pleasantries were shared, the focus was shifted to me. There were the typical questions, what my classes were like, my interests, hobbies, and the like. Things got interesting however when Mr. de la Cruz asked about my family. I wasn’t expecting that. “They’re British on my dad’s side. My grandparents immigrated before my dad was born.”
“British hmm?” He looked at Montgomery that didn’t sit well with me.
“Yes Sir.”
“How British are we talking here?”
“Sir, my last name is Hawthorne. It doesn’t get much more British than that. So, I’m sure you can imagine my Gran’s… uh… joy when my dad brought home a French Irish Catholic girl.”
“I’m sure that went fantastically.” His mom said.
“Oh yes. Couldn’t have gone worse than Christmases when my mom was writing her master’s thesis on the Irish War of Independence. I hear those were very quiet meals.”
“How does your grandmother feel about you?” His father asked.
“You mean my dad’s mum?” He nodded. “Well, I’m not entirely sure. I think there was talk about me possibly inheriting some of her estate, but it wouldn’t be what it was if I was a boy. Or more importantly to Gran, my mother wasn’t who she is. There might be occasional access to the house in England, since my dad was the only heir. Possibly some education paid for. But aside from that, she would probably prefer if I lived off of potatoes for the rest of my life.”
“And on your mother’s side?”
“My Nan likes me enough. She isn’t thrilled I haven’t gone back to visit her in a while, but I have school, so she understands.”
“Likes you… enough?”
“I don’t really remember when she lived States side. I was really young when she moved back to Ireland, so I don’t see her that often. My mom did say I will get the brownstone in Boston though. That counts for something, or so I’m told.”
“Rich people are weird.” Monty muttered under his breath.
“Trust me, I know. My dad had to talk Gran out of sending me to boarding school in Scotland when I was starting school. He had to fly to London to talk to her and put his foot down. She was concerned about my education going forward. And my parents aren’t rich Montgomery. My dad’s family is rich. He can’t touch any of it until Gran passes or is no longer of sound mind. If there is any left to him, of course. All his family did was pay for his business degree. Even that was like pulling teeth. My mom’s grandparents came here with nothing but their silverware and the clothes on their backs. They worked for everything they had. She grew up comfortable as a middle-class Bostonian who lived in a fancy house because there was no mortgage on it anymore. She definitely married up.”
“Going from a brownstone in Boston is marrying… up?” His father asked, surprised.
“My grandparents bought it in the fifties, so yes. She married a wealthy not quite nobleman British man. It is definitely marrying up. Something I have no intention of doing.”
“That’s fair then.” It did not sound fair going by his tone.
There was an awkward lull in the conversation. “What do your parents do dear?”
“My dad is a businessman; he owns a couple of investment firms in the city. I don’t really have much interest in what he does to be honest. My mom is a professor of history at UC Berkley. She got tenure a couple of years ago. She is actually on sabbatical right now though.”
“Oh, and how is that going for her?”
“It’s going alright. She doesn’t really talk about what she is researching though. Doesn’t want to jinx being published and whatnot.” “She getting paid?” His father asked.
I blinked for a moment, trying to determine if he was serious. When he didn’t continue, I assumed he was, “yes…. She is still working. Just not at the university. Berkley is good, they pay her full salary. Some schools only pay half and hope grants cover the rest of your expenses.”
He merely nodded in response. I wasn’t sure what else to say, so I played with the remaining food bits on my plate.
“What about school? Do you have any plans?”
“I guess. Depends who’s plans you want to hear about.”
“We have time.”
Monty squeezed my knee. He knew this was a touchy topic for me.
“Well, let’s see. My dad wants me to go to Oxford or Cambridge, but I have no interest in moving to England. Visiting on occasion is one thing. Living there for three years is something completely different. Mom wants me to go to Berkley because tuition would be free since she works there.”
“What do you want?”
“If I had my choice of schools, I would go to Ole Miss or NYU to study English with emphasis on creative writing.”
Mr. de la Cruz choked a bit, “English?”
“Yes. I’m not taking AP English Literature for some light reading. I actually enjoy it. Nothing concrete yet as far as plans go yet. I will do more research next year.”
He made a noise that sounded unimpressed. I don’t care about your damn opinion. The evening seemed to come to an end after that. There wasn’t much more to be said or done, so we left the awkward pause where it was. I bid them goodnight and Monty took me home.
“That wasn’t terrible.”
“Your dad thinks I’m not good enough for you.”
“No, I think it’s the opposite babe. He thinks you’re too good for me.”
“I sounded way too pretentious. They think I’m a spoiled little rich girl.”
“They don’t. And even if they did, I don’t care what my old man thinks. My mom likes you.”
“Well that’s good at least.” We drove the rest of the way to my place in silence, save for the odd reaction to something on the radio. When we arrived at my place, he walked me to the door and held me for a moment before we felt eyes on us. My parents were pretending not to look at us from the front window, and failing miserably. I laughed quietly and kissed his cheek softly before we said goodnight. I walked in the house and said hello to my parents before going upstairs and going to bed for the night. What an exhausting evening.

This might be quite a big question but what do the coven think of/their relationship with the hotel gang✨✨✨
Alright friendo this is a looooooong one, so get ready! This took so much time to write holy shit
The person who spends most time at the Hotel is Salem, as part of what she calls her “punishment” for calling Lucifer a shit dad. So lets start with her.
Salem
Charlie: Being Lucifers assistant/body guard on the side, she knows Charlie pretty well, and acts as a dotting nanny to her for the most part. While she does love Charlie a lot, she tends to talk down to her at times, like one would to a child, which sometimes makes them clash. But, even so, they are very close, and Charlie appreciates that Salem takes her side often when dealing with her dad.Vaggie: They get along great! Not only have they died in a short time apart from each other, meaning they came from a similar time, they bonded a lot over their love for Charlie. With Charlie being a literal ray of sunshine and the two of them being much more down-to-earth(hell?), cautious and cynical, it’s not hard to see why they like each other. Salem does love to pull the “embarrassing mom” shtick and gush over how cute Charlie and Vaggie are together, much to their dismay.Alastor: Alastor drains her. She does not have enough spoons to deal with him, but even so she is constantly forced to because he likes her. Or likes seeing her suffer. She met him early on after arriving to Hell, what with him and Lucifer being on good terms and all, and it’s been exhausting ever since. She’s Lucifer’s favorite, meaning she’s the most powerful in the coven, meaning Alastor loves pushing her to her limit, the most notable moment being The Witch Bar Incident. To make it worse, she caught a very unfortunate case of the feelings for him at some point when he did something vaguely romantic towards her, and she hates it. She internalizes that shit like a pro, tho.Angel Dust: Kind of sees through the fact that he’s using the Hotel as a free place to crash and is not the happiest about that. Especially after the whole fiasco he pulled with Cherry Bomb. However, even if he is there for his own selfish reasons, he still is a ray of hope for Charlie and the Hotel, which Salem appreciates a lot.Nifty: Even with Nifty being an associate of Alastor, Salem does love how hard working and energetic she is, and what a big help she is around the Hotel.Husk: Salem tends to info-dump about her problems on Husk more than she does to others. It’s the whole bartender thing, probably. Also, the fact that Husk is the least likely to care about it (meaning he wont spread it around to others) and that he’ll give her the most brutal, no-bullshit answer to whatever she’s jabbering on about is somehow comforting.
Draco
Charlie: Despite being a flirt, he did manage to stop himself from being his regular self with Charlie for the most part. Not a good idea to flirt with the Boss’s daughter, afterall. Also, Salem would kill him. He does still flirt platonically and make cute comments, most of which make Charlie giggle a lot. Vaggie and Salem both roll their eyes at this.Vaggie: When they first met, he tried flirting with her before Salem could stop him, and he ended up with a spear in his gut, much to his amusement (”Oh look, I’ve been impaled”). Despite first impressions, they mostly keep it civil.Alastor: He met Alastor when they were both alive, during the height of Alastor’s murder terror. Draco describes it as being the most overwhelming evil he felt during his life, which left him both excited and terrified. Him and Alastor interacting is always filled with politeness and smiling - with a lot underlying threats in their words and tone. -After the Coven formed officially, Draco opened the Bar he always wanted (which the entire Coven helps run, promptly named the Witch Bar), which Alastor visited and almost killed every patron during a song performance (”The Witch Bar Incident”), while possessing Dax, Boogie and to an extent even Draco. While Salem managed to stop him, barely, Draco made a deal with Alastor that he’s allowed to come to the Witch Bar whenever he wishes (the 30/40s aesthetic made Alastor feel like home), letting him perform, entertain and relax - on the house - in exchange for him never harming any of the bar’s patrons.Angel Dust: They had a short fling or two. They’re still super flirty towards each other, and while they don’t hook up very often anymore, Dax, Boogie and Salem still classify Angel as Draco’s “friend with benefits”. Draco finds Angel absolutely hilarious and loves hanging out with him, both sharing a gangster background.Nifty: Finds her weird thing for men a bit off-putting. Something there ain’t right. But he can’t put his fingers on it.Husk: Knows Husk well from his late nights out, they played card together on the occasion. Husk would also visit the Witch Bar at times, and in general, their relationship is pretty chill. Draco loves annoying him with jokes, tho.
Dax
Charlie: Finds Charlie’s energy refreshing (”You’ve got moxie, kid! I love it!”), but the “naive” part doesn’t bode well with her. It’s a dog eat dog world, kid, and she sees Charlie as a bunny about to be torn apart by feral wolves. Because of this, she tends to be tough on her a lot and doesn’t entertain Charlie’s optimism at all, because she feels that Charlie needs to get thicker skin.Vaggie: Appreciates Vaggie’s no-nonsense attitude “You remind me of me when I was younger, kid! Take no shit from no one! CRUSH THEM UNDER YOUR LOUIS VUITTON HEEL! KILL THE MEN WHO WRONGED YOU!!!”Alastor: First met him during the Witch Bar Incident, which is not a good impression to say the least. Being a woman of steel, she tries not to show it, but is absolutely scared shitless of him. She hides it behind obnoxious laughter and loud talking whenever she’s near him, but she’s absolutely sweating bullets. She turns on her professional business mode to the max when dealing with Alastor, because that’s the one role that gives her most comfort, and by Jove she needs that confidence when talking to him.Angel Dust: Oh she just adores him. They love chatting it up about how they eat men for breakfast. Very similar, crude sense of humor, meaning they get along swell. Also, they both have that whole “I always come first” attitude going for them; they know the world is shit and the only person they can rely on is themselves.Nifty: She only had the gremlin child for a day and a half, but if anything happened to her, she would kill everyone in Hell and then herself. Husk: Dax is a betting woman at heart, and Husk quickly became her favorite gambling buddy. They constantly make stupid wagers and play cards in their off time.
Boogie
Charlie: Charlie may be too energetic for poor Boogie, but if anything, Boggie really feels at ease when Charlie is around. She is much nicer than anyone else she met in hell, and gives off very warm vibes and feelings. Loves talking to Charlie because it’s nice to have a positive conversation once in a while.Vaggie: While not super close, Boogie and Vaggie do get along better than most. Boogie sees a similar pain to hers in Vaggie in regards to abuse, which she finds solace in. But Vaggie is also prone to angry outbursts, which don’t bode well with her.Alastor: Like Dax, her first meeting with him was the Witch Bar Incident, and boy oh boy, she can’t stand him at all. Her being an Empath also means whenever Alastor is near, it’s like a constant influx of murdery energy inside her head, and it makes her anxious. He’s dangerous, powerful, and he takes joy in knowing that, and Boogie does not fuck around with that at all.Angel Dust: She’s actually pretty okay with Angel, because she takes solace in the fact he has no interest of that kind for her, one less thing to worry about. Finds him absolutely hilarious, she just wishes he wasn’t so touchy-feely.Nifty: Too energetic. Way too energetic. She talks to fast, everything about her is overwhelming and it really gives Boogie anxiety. Husk: He’s much more chill than everyone else and Boogie really, really appreciates that. She does not mind sitting at the bar with him in silence. Even with Husk being grumpy and yelling a lot, the fact that he doesn’t ask too many questions and respects her physical boundaries makes him one of Boogies favourites in the Hotel.

So @mdeenise “challenged” me to answer all of the questions from this Hogwarts Mystery Asks: MC. I’ve already answered some (can check ‘asks’ or ‘ask game’ tags, I’ll also link them in my Masterlist) so I’ll answer the rest I haven’t been asked yet here because
1. What is their whole name?
Nereida Adelyn-Keira LaFontaine Black
5. How is there relationship with Jacob?
Keira and Jacob were very close - it was them against the world! They’re very protective of one another, they can get/have gotten into a lot of trouble together, both with a rebellious, mischievous streak; but they are also siblings so there’s teasing, embarrassing each other, lots of physical ‘play fighting’ - they’re very much like I can be mean to my sibling but if you’re mean to them I’ll hurt you. Clearly when he ‘disappeared’ it was devastating for Keira and she felt completely alone.
6. How is their relationship with their parents?
Both Keira and Jacob loved their mom who was their primary caregiver. Keira honestly doesn’t really remember her dad much but Jacob hates him. She has a vague recollection of him and Regulus and Sirius, a bit better memory of Sirius who kept in contact with her and Jacob even after they moved to Canada, possibly to spite his parents but Keira thinks he actually cares about his younger half-siblings even if it was something that started out from spite or curiosity.
When their mom died of course Jacob and Keira were very sad over their loss. They were then taken in by their mom’s close friends and moved to Canada from Ireland and while there was an adjustment period they both appreciate the care they provided, and while Jacob and Keira didn’t exactly feel like they belong in this ‘family’ their mom’s friends were great parental figures and they do care about them and appreciate everything they’ve done for them. Their dad was nonexistent in their lives after the passing of their mom (he passed soon after the next year, after the death of Regulus) but when they arrived in the UK to attend Hogwarts they did find savings left for them from their dad in Gringotts (safe to assume without his wife’s knowledge).
So both love their mom and ‘adopted’ parents (unofficially adopted =p) and while Jacob hates their dad and views him as a manipulative, selfish, neglectful arse, Keira is pretty neutral and apathetic about her dad since she doesn’t really remember him all that well. But she appreciates the money! =p
8. How’s their relationship with their family?
Ahahahahahaha - I’m cackling =p
Unfortunately, the family on Keira and Jacob’s mom’s side are all pretty much passed or they have no idea who they are =p Their mom and mom’s parents are passed and their mom had no siblings since her mom died relatively soon after her birth (undines...) As stated before, Jacob and Keira appreciate and care very much for their mom’s friends who took them in after her passing, although a bit of awkwardness since it’s not ‘really’ their family...
As for the Black side of their family *more cackling* Orion seemed much more interested in their mom than them and didn’t seem to want much to do with them, at least according to Jacob. Walburga hates them and this whole situation, of course! With good reason! She honestly probably would of had them killed. She focused most of her energy on ensuring this scandal did not get out into the public and was probably very relieved when they moved across the pond. Of course when Jacob returned to attend Hogwarts he was done living this lie and didn’t care who it upset and went by his Black family name, encouraging his sister to do the same - this family would not win! Walburga could try to deny it all she wanted but a paternity test (which I’ve done some research on Wizarding World paternity tests and some interesting ideas came up!) just proved it.
Despite this, Walburga and the rest of the Black family continued to ignore their entire existence. Andromeda may have been left out of the loop considering she was disowned from the family as well but when Keira and Tonks realized they were both related to Bellatrix Lestrange, and therefore related themselves, Keira was so happy to be accepted by some members of the Black family. Sirius also was accepting of his younger half-siblings and stayed in contact with them even after they moved to Canada. He may have only gone to see them at first out of curiosity and then continued to visit and communicate with them out of spite to his parents but he probably did care about them and enjoyed them more than Regulus because they weren’t brought up in a pureblood elitist household. Probably wished their mom was his mom which would just upset Walburga. And if Walburga didn’t hate them before, after she passed, Keira, now more spiteful and daring with everything that has happened, moved into the now empty (well except for Kreacher) 12 Grimmauld Place which would just piss Walburga off! How she convinced Remus, no idea - basically she was like I’m doing this and Remus had to go along with it =p
Wait, is Kreacher family? Keira and Kreacher argue a lot and she will not stand for him being mean to Remus or any of her friends and will threaten to kick him out although it’s an empty threat because she wouldn’t actually kick him out and make him homeless! Kreacher of course thinks she’s invading some place that does not belong to her but because she is a Black she sort of does belong there and while not related to his previous Walburga, she is to Orion so he has to put up with her =p They eventually reach an understanding. Kreacher is free to stay there and does not have to do any chores or cleaning up after her or Remus, as long as he’s nice... or just stays away from her friends and Remus.
I’m not sure how Regulus felt about them, maybe neutral? I think discovering his dad’s affair would be a shock to him, he might be curious as well to meet them and I like to think did meet them at least once, possibly while their mom was passing (like Orion went to see her and Sirius and Regulus decided to go as well because, hey, it is their younger siblings whether they like it or not and it’s a hard thing to go through) but I think he was more worried and concerned about Death Eater affairs and tricking Voldemort =p
So while Keira is close with Tonks, and probably her parents as well, and both Keira and Jacob are accepted by Sirius, and maybe even Regulus, who knows =p, most of the Black family still pretends they don’t exist. Although I like to think Keira later bonds with Draco and they become close and overall these next generations are going to be better. And while Bellatrix may refuse to acknowledge Keira’s relationship to her, deep down she actually really likes Keira because she’s a strong, tough bitch who isn’t afraid of her and would have killed Dumbledore without even being a Death Eater if asked =p Seriously, Keira knows she’s actually Bella’s favorite.
(This also pretty much works for my original HP OC bio where she was Sirius’ daughter because besides Tonks, Andromeda, and Ted, the rest of the Black family wouldn’t really acknowledge her existence either)
Does Remus count as family? Of course he does, he’s “Uncle Remus!” =p Remus and Keira had an instant bond, they are incredibly close - I like to think of it as two people who felt completely alone in the world found each other and now they were not longer alone. Keira is very much like Sirius, and Jacob can be very much like James actually, so it was actually nice for Remus to be around them if not bittersweet. I actually have a post about Keira and Remus’ relationship so I won’t say too much more besides they are very close and Keira is suuuuper protective over him.
9. Do they have any other siblings?
Sirius and Regulus Black
11. Do they have pets?
Keira has a Siamese cat and Jacob had a Barred Owl named Archimedes which I guess is hers now too? Jacob also wanted a dog or crup but then went to school so their ‘adoptive’ parents are taking care of it =p
14. Any crushes?
Charlie Weasley.
She won’t outright admit it but it’s obvious to everyone else besides Charlie. Wasn’t even aware of it herself for quite awhile! =p But fortunately she plays it pretty cool and isn’t a stuttering mess around him so maybe he has no idea she likes him because she’s so chill and nonchalant about it. Although she can be flirtatious but she can be like that with a lot of people =p (She’s related to Sirius she can’t help it! =p)
16. Have they ever dated someone before (Either back at their home or at Hogwarts)?
Rumour has it during her summer before Sixth Year, where she spent most of it in Canada, and going into Sixth Year she was dating someone. Has not been confirmed nor denied. 😜
(I think that’s all of them? Wasn't that much actually, I expected more =p But I still wrote a lot more than intended so sorry about that! Hope I explained things well enough! If anyone has any questions or want to talk about MC’s more hit me up! Thanks for your challenge! 😉💙)

Ok so i was thinking about this post by @newbads all day and specifically like. When and how did dennis start acting distant around Mac? but i kind of went off on a tangent not rly related to that post so heres on its own, like, sort of a timeline i guess, starting from mortgage crisis and ending with ddl
(i actually started this like a week ago and then got stuck halfway through and now school has started again so i wont probably have time to come back to it like i’d want, so i’m posting it as is and pls feel free to contribute later stuff if u want to :))))
Hypothesis: Dennis is super touchy and affectionate in season 5, freaks out after Break Up when he realises his feelings for mac, temporarily distances himself a little bit for a while (including marrying maureen), but mostly still pretty close. After Mac Day starts getting especially distant and it only gets worse over time, reaches a peak in s12 after Mac comes out in HoHC, and its evident by DDL that this is not sustainable and something drastic has to change.
read more because its fuckn long for a dashboard tbh, sorry
Mortgage Crisis- Dennis cant keep his hands off Mac for this whole episode, even when its unclear whether theyre actually pretending to be a couple yet, hes just Like That. And hes clearly super comfortable with pretending to be a couple, like absolutely no qualms whatsoever, totally willing to give out random superfluous information about their relationship to strangers without a second thought.
Break up- Dennis Realises™ and has this series of expressions before literally blatantly checking Mac out (you could also say the important moment of realisation here is the date at the end and ‘beautiful lips’ but since thats technically not canon lets go with this) He’s clearly panicked about this and even though they make up by the end of the ep theres a definite shift because the next 3 episodes are then:
Dennis aggressively asserting his straightness basically (D.E.N.N.I.S. System)
Dennis aggressively ignoring Mac (to be fair, ignoring everyone else too) (Mac And Charlie Write A Movie)
Not particularly relevant to the larger macdennis plot but does have Dennis complaining abt a homophobic joke so… (Reignites the Rivalry)
Mac Fights Gay Marriage/Dennis Gets Divorced which is Dennis reacting like this to Mac ranting about gay marriage, impulsively marrying Maureen, kicking Mac out, and then divorcing maureen after like 2 days while calling mac his boy toy and pointedly looking at him when he tells maureen he never loved her.
Then we dont really get any more episodes with macdennis teamups (the closest are ones with the whole gang or all the guys) until the end of season 8. But theyre still pretty close and touchy most of the times they are together, and that s8 episode is Dines Out so like, maybe the actual episodes haven’t teamed them up, but Dennis is definitely not what you could call distant at this point yet and certainly not distant enough that Mac has noticed anything.
So arguably the turning point is Mac Day where you get the first time Dennis says he hates mac, after hes faced with country mac who’s kind of an ‘idealised’ version of what our mac could be and points out a lot of his failings just by being there (someone else wrote a thing abt this i dont remember who it was sry but it was really good, if anyone knows the post i mean pls link me and ill add it here because basically: that post.) And also the first non-joking explicit mention of Mac being gay, like the one in Mac’s Banging The Waitress doesnt really seem serious ya know. And then almost immediately after that Dennis tries to confront Mac about facing up to his delusions about himself- nominally about being badass but….in context…
Its also maybe worth noting that they lose the Macdennis ApartmentTM for the first time like 5 episodes later.
Updated hypothesis before i continue: actually Dennis doesnt really seem to get that remarkably distant until like s10- theres definitely a downturn after season 5 but not as sharply as i thought. Early on Dennis seems to act on it in some way every time Mac’s sexuality or their relationship is brought up but each time is pushing it a bit less, either because he gets wary of doing anything too risky after he keeps going back in the closet or because the closer they get to finally being done with Mac being in the closet, the closer they get to Dennis having to deal with his own sexuality. Maybe both. Also, while overall there’s less touching/fondness/sexual undertones than there used to be, when he does, those individual instances are... A Lot.
Ok and then i was gonna talk about Spies Like US, Suburbs, Goes to hell, HoHC, Tends Bar, and DDL but i really dont have time and i typed this in like 6 hours of hyperfocus hell and no longer remember where i was going with it anyway lmao
#macdennis meta#iasip meta#macdennis#idk if this is particularly revelatory of anything lmao its literally a timeline#with some minor observations stuck in#but eh it was fun to make at the time lmao#Can I Riff

February 19th 2017
We woke up and had to say goodbye to Jackson. Jackson had hired a car to travel the East Coast. He’s only going for one week though. He said that he would come back to Mad Monkey’s and ask to be in the same room. Fingers crossed he can be. I needed some new stuff so shopping day it was. It turns out, we didn’t really pack the right stuff. Well, I didn’t anyway. How do you pack for a year? I only needed a couple of bits - not much. Steve just needed some plain T-Shirts, too. We went to Pitt Street. This is where the massive Westfield is. There’s loads of shops along the streets in the surrounding area so lots of options. We looked out for charity shops. Josh got a pair of vans for $15 in the charity shop on Pitt Street a couple of days before. I love charity shops, even at home. I get such good stuff at cheap prices. Anyone who’s narrow-minded about charity shops are missing out.
I got a new lounge black t-shirt and cosy shorts. I picked up a flowing floral dress which was $7. It wasn’t meant to be $7 mind you. I saw it in the window of H&M and loved it. I went inside and it was roughly $25. I saw another one with a $7 ticket on it. I thought it was in the sale but it had been marked incorrectly. The lady on the till made me show her where I saw the sale one. She bought it behind the till and had to give me the dress for $7 due to false advertisement. Result! I also got a new pair of sandals for $7 in the sale down from $50. Last ones in my size. Absolute bargains. Happy Charlie. Steve got plain white, navy and black t-shirts in Zara which were surprisingly cheap.
We had a coffee in Starbucks. We haven’t had tea or coffee since we’ve been here. You get tea and coffee with breakfast but you have to drink out of small plastic cups. Plastic cups make tea taste weird. They also don’t have sweetener and I wont have sugar. The hostel provide free tea and coffee too but you have to buy your own milk. There’s no point us buying our own milk because we wont drink it enough. Plus, there’s hardly any room in the fridges for more stuff.
We got back to the hostel around 1700. We had a new roommate replacing Jackson, not sure who he is though. The Chinese girls haven’t said a word to us yet either. I don’t think they’re going too. I’m not sure if there’s a major culture difference, but they air their dirty laundry on the beds. When I say dirty laundry, I mean, dirty knickers. When I say dirty, I mean, monthly female stains... All over. It’s absolutely disgusting. They’re not bothered by it whatsoever. They both have them hanging on the bunk beds so everyone can see. I don’t understand. There’s no shame at all.
Joe, the French guy, went to an Electric dance festival today. I really like Joe. He doesn’t talk much because he’s really shy and timid. He has dreadlocks though so he doesn’t look it. He’s so sweet. Never judge a book by it's cover! I didn’t speak with the guy that joined us last night. He was still asleep when we left and wasn’t in when we went to bed. The newest guy is from Derby. Haven’t spoke to him though. That’s just what Josh told us. We found out that we get free gym memberships with this hostel. Typical - 2 weeks in! We’re going to get up at 0730 to be at the gym for 0800. That’s the plan anyway... I feel awful not being at Slimming World every week. I’m eating fairly well though. I had Turkey mince with salad for dinner tonight. Steve had Tuna mayo with salad.
It was cold today. I say cold, it was 23 degrees. That’s cold for me. I wore my jeans and hoody. It’s nice when it’s cooler, it feels more homely. My family facetimed me which was lovely. I miss them all so much. I have a telephone interview tomorrow for a waitress role in a cafe... Strange right. I’m going to be getting up and handing my CV’s out. I can’t waste time waiting to see whether I got the job that I went for a couple of days ago. We’re not desperate for a job at the moment, we saved an extra £1,000 each so we could do touresty things we wanted and not have to panic about getting a job. I would ideally like one before the end of February, just to be safe.
We’re hoping to do our farm work in April/May time. This way we’ll be able to save up for 3 months and travel down from Cairns doing the East Coast. Only rough plans though. Nothings set in stone for the year which is the beauty of travelling I guess.
Free as a bird.

Ever wonder how Bitcoin (and other cryptocurrencies) actually work?
New Post has been published on https://hititem.kr/ever-wonder-how-bitcoin-and-other-cryptocurrencies-actually-work-2/
Ever wonder how Bitcoin (and other cryptocurrencies) actually work?
What does it imply to have a bitcoin? Many individuals have now heard of bitcoin, thats its a entirely digital forex, with out a govt to quandary it and no banks wanted to manage bills and affirm transactions. That no one truely knows who invented it. But many individuals dont be aware of the reply to this question, as a minimum now not in full. To get there, and to be certain the technical important points underlying this reply believe motivated, had been going to walk through step-by way of-step how you might have invented your possess variation of Bitcoin. Well begin with you maintaining monitor of payments along with your pals making use of a communal ledger. Then, as you trust your pals and the sector less and less, and if youre intelligent ample to carry in a few tools of cryptography to help evade the need for believe, what you end up with whats known as a cryptocurrency. Bitcoin is solely the primary implemented illustration of a cryptocurrency, and there are now hundreds and hundreds extra on exchanges with typical currencies. Walking the trail of inventing your own can help set the groundwork for understanding one of the most more contemporary gamers in the game, and recognizing the place theres room for special design selections. Correctly, one of the factors I chose this matter is in accordance with the unheard of leap in concentration, investment and…Well.. Hype directed at these currencies in just the last year. I wont remark or speculate on the current or future trade charges, but I suppose wed all agree that any person watching to purchase a cryptocurrency should rather know what it’s.Not simply in phrases of analogies with indistinct connections to gold-mining, I imply an actual direct description of what computer systems are doing when sending, receiving and developing cryptocurrencies. One factor valued at stressing, by the way, is that despite the fact that you and i’ll dig into the underlying important points here, which takes some significant time, you dont in reality have to comprehend these small print to use a cryptocurrency, just like you dont need to comprehend the details of what happens below the hood when you swipe a credit card. Like another digital payments, there are a lot of user-pleasant purposes that let you send and obtain these currencies very quite simply. The change is that the spine underlying this isn’t a financial institution verifying transactions, however a clever method of decentralized trustless verification centered on probably the most math born in cryptography. To begin, set aside the notion of cryptocurrencies for a couple of minutes. Have been going to start the story with anything extra right down to earth: Ledgers, and digital signatures. If you happen to and your friends alternate money lovely traditionally, paying your share of the dinner bill and such, it can be inconvenient to exchange money always. So that you could keep a communal ledger that records payments you want to make in the future. Alice can pay Bob $20, Bob will pay Charlie $forty, matters like that. This ledger shall be anything public and available to every body, like a internet site where any one can go and just add new lines. On the end of each month, you all appear via the record of transactions and tally everything up. If youve spent more than you acquired, you put that cash into the pot, and if youve acquired more than you spent, you are taking that so much cash out. So the protocol for being a part of this method appears whatever like this: any one can add strains to the ledger, and on the finish of each month all people will get together to settles up with real cash. One difficulty with a public ledger like that is that after anyone can add a line, whats to avert Bob from going in and writing Alice pays Bob $100 with out Alice approving? How are we imagined to trust that every one these transactions are what the sender supposed for them to be? That is the place the first bit of cryptography is available in: Digital signatures. Like a handwritten signature, the proposal right here is that Alice should be competent to add anything next to a transaction that proves that she has obvious it, and accepted of it. And it will have to be infeasible for anyone else to forge her signature. To start with it would seem like digital signatures shouldnt even be viable, seeing that anything knowledge makes up the signature can simply be learn and copied with the aid of any computer, so how do you prevent forgeries? The way this works is that everybody generates whats referred to as a public key/personal key pair, each and every of which looks like some string of bits. The private secret’s often also known as the secret key, in order that we will abbreviate it to sk whilst abbreviating the public key as pk. As the names recommend, the secret secret is some thing you must hold to your self. In the real world, your handwritten signature appears the same it doesn’t matter what report youre signing. A digital signatures is way greater, in view that it alterations for one of a kind messages. It appears like a string of 1s and 0s, by and large whatever like 256 bits, and altering the message even quite utterly alterations what your signature on that message will have to seem like. Formally, producing a signature entails some operate that relies both on the message itself, and to your private key. The private key ensures that most effective which you can produce the signature, and the fact that it relies on the message means no person can just copy one in every of your signatures to forge it on an additional message. Hand-in-hand with this is a perform to affirm that a signature is legitimate, and that is the place the general public key comes into play. All it does it output actual or false to denote if this used to be a signature created via the private key associated with the public key you utilize for the verification. I wont go into the details how how exactly these functions work, however the thought is that it will have to be utterly infeasible to find a valid signature if you happen to dont know the secret key. Especially there is not any process better than just guessing and checking if random signatures are valid making use of the public key except you hit one that works. There are 2^256 feasible signatures with 256 bits, and youd ought to to find the person who work. This can be a stupidly big number. To name it astronomically tremendous can be giving way to a lot credit to astronomy. Actually, I made a supplemental video dedicated just to illustrating what a colossal number this is. Lets just say that when you confirm a signature towards a given message and public key, that you could feel tremendously confident that the only manner someone could have produced it is in the event that they knew the secret key associated with the public key. Theres one slight situation here: If Alice signs a transaction like Alice will pay Bob $100, although Bob cant forge Alices signature on new messages, he might simply copy that identical line as many times as he desires, in view that the message/signature combo is valid. To get around that, we make it so that when you sign a transaction, the message has to include some precise id associated with that transaction. That manner, if Alice can pay Bob $100 a couple of occasions, each and every transaction requires a completely new signature. Okay, high-quality, digital signatures take away a huge part of believe in our initial protocol. But even still, this depends on an honors method of varieties. Specifically, youre trusting that all people will truely comply with by way of and settle up in cash at the end of each month. However what if, for instance, Charlie racked up hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt, and simply refuses to exhibit up? The only real intent to revert to cash to settle up is that if some men and women, Im watching at you Charlie, owe a lot of money. So might be you’ve got the intelligent proposal that you just certainly not surely have got to settle up in cash as long as you have got some way to restrict individuals from spending too much greater than they soak up. What you might do is start via having every body pay $a hundred into the pot, and have the primary few lines of the ledger will learn Alice will get $one hundred, Bob will get $one hundred, and so on. Now, just dont receive transactions when someone is spending greater than they’ve on the ledger. For instance, after beginning every person off with $one hundred, if the first two transaction are Charlie pays Alice $50 and Charlie pay Bob $50, if he have been to try to add Charlie pays You $20, that will be invalid, as invalid as if he on no account signed it. Discover, this implies you must comprehend the full historical past of transactions to confirm that a brand new one is legitimate. And that is, more or less, going to be proper for cryptocurrencies as well, though there’s a little room for optimization. Whats fascinating right here is that this step relatively gets rid of the connection between the Ledger and bodily money. In conception, if everyone in the world used this Ledger, you might live your entire lifestyles simply sending and receiving money on this ledger with out ever converting to real US. To stress this factor, lets regarding portions on the ledger as LedgerDollars, or LD for short. Youre of path free to alternate LedgerDollars for real US dollars, for example might be Alice offers Bob a $10 bill in the actual world in exchange for him including and signing the transaction Bob can pay Alice 10 LedgerDollars to the communal ledger. But exchanges like this usually are not guaranteed in the protocol. Its now more analogous to the way you would trade dollars for Euros or any other currency on the open market, its simply its own impartial thing. This is the primary principal thing to fully grasp about Bitcoin, or any other cryptocurrency: What it’s is a ledger; the history of transactions is the currency. Of direction, with Bitcoin cash doesnt enter the Ledger with persons purchasing into utilising cash, sick get to how new cash enters the ledger in just a few minutes. Before that, theres an even more tremendous change between our current procedure of LedgerDollars how cryptocurrencies works. To this point, Ive said that this ledger is some public location, like a internet site where anybody can add new strains. But this requires trusting a valuable vicinity. Particularly, who hosts that internet site? Who controls the principles of including new traces? To dispose of that little bit of trust, good have all people maintain their possess copy of the ledger. Then to make a transaction, like Alice can pay Bob a hundred LedgerDollars, you broadcast into the sector for humans to hear and file on their own exclusive Ledgers. But until we do anything extra, this method would absurdly bad. How can you get each person to agree on what the proper ledger is? When Bob receives the transaction Alice can pay Bob 10 LedgerDollars, how can he be certain that every person else bought and believes that identical transaction? That hell be capable to later use these 10 LedgerDollars to make a exchange with Charlie. Rather, imagine your self simply paying attention to transactions being broadcast. How are you going to be definite that every body else is recording the identical transactions within the same order? Now weve hit on an fascinating puzzle: are you able to come up with a protocol for how you can receive or reject transactions and in what order so to think constructive that any one else on the planet following the equal protocol has a individual ledger that appears the same as yours? This is the main issue addressed within the common Bitcoin paper. At a high level, the answer Bitcoin presents to trust whichever ledger has probably the most computational work put into it. In poor health take a second to explain what precisely that suggests, which involves this factor called a Cryptographic hash function. The general idea well construct to is that when you use computational work as a basis for what to trust, that you may make it in order that fraudulent transactions and conflicting ledgers would require an infeasible quantity of computation. Once more, this is getting good into the weeds past what anybody would ought to be aware of just to make use of a forex like this. However its a fairly cool idea, and should you understand it, you realise the guts of bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. A hash operate takes in any form of message or file, and outputs a string of bits with a constant size, like 256 bits. This output is known as the hash or digest of the message, and its supposed to look random. Its not random; it constantly offers the same output for a given input. However the idea is that when you relatively change the enter, probably modifying only one persona, the ensuing hash changes wholly. Actually, for the hash perform Im displaying here, known as SHA256, the way that output changes as you reasonably change the input is utterly unpredictable. You see, this isn’t simply any hash function, its a cryptographic hash operate. That means its infeasible to compute within the reverse path.If I show you some special string of 1s and 0s and ask you to find an enter message so that the SHA256 hash of that message offers this detailed string of bits, you’ll have no higher process than to wager and examine. Once more, if you want a consider for just how much computation could be needed to go by way of 2256 guesses, take a seem at the supplement video. I sincerely had means an excessive amount of fun writing that thing. You could think you would reverse engineer the favored input with the aid of rather digging through the small print of how the operate works, however no person has ever determined a technique to try this.Apparently, theres no proof that its difficult to compute within the reverse direction, but a big quantity of cutting-edge security relies on cryptographic hash services. When you have been to take a look at what algorithms underlie the at ease connection that your browser is making with YouTube correct now, or that it makes with a bank, you’re going to doubtless see a reputation like SHA256 in there. For right now, our center of attention will just be on how this kind of perform can prove that a distinctive list of transactions is related to a big amount of computational effort. Imagine any individual suggests you a record of transactions, and so they say I determined a specific number so that whilst you put this quantity on the end of list of transactions, and practice SHA256 the whole thing, the first 30 bits of the output are zeros. How rough do you believe it used to be for them to find that number? For a random message, the chance that the hash occurs to start with 30 successive zeros is 1 in 230, which is about 1 in one billion. For the reason that SHA256 is a cryptographic hash perform, the only option to find a certain number like this just guessing and checking. So this person almost obviously needed to go via a few billion different numbers earlier than discovering this distinct one. And as soon as you understand the quantity, which you can rapidly verify that this hash relatively does begin with 30 zeros. In other phrases, which you can verify they they went through a big amount of work while not having to move by way of that same effort yourself. That is called a proof of labor. And importantly, all this work is intrinsically tied to that list of transactions. In case you trade probably the most transactions, even somewhat, it might utterly alternate the hash, so youd need to go by way of a different billion guesses to discover a new proof of labor, a brand new number that makes it in order that the hash of the altered list along side this new quantity starts with 30 zeros. So now think back to our disbursed ledger problem. Everyone is broadcasting transactions, and we would like a technique for every person to agree on what the right ledger rather is. As I said, the core inspiration in the back of the normal bitcoin paper is to have everybody trust whichever ledger has the most work put into it. The this works is to first arrange a given ledger into blocks, where every block contains a record of transactions, together with a proof of work. That is, a particular number in order that the hash of the whole block starts with a bunch of zeros. For the second lets say it has to begin with 60 zeros, however later unwell return again to how you could decide upon that quantity. In the same method that a transaction is simplest viewed valid if it is signed with the aid of the sender, a block is only considered legitimate if it has a proof of work. Additionally, to ensure there’s a average method to order of those blocks, good make it in order that a block has to include the hash of the earlier block. That method, in the event you change any block, or attempt to swap the order of two blocks, it could alternate the block after it, which alterations that blocks hash, which alterations the next block, and so forth. That will require redoing the entire work, discovering a brand new unique quantity for each of those blocks that makes their hashes with 60 zeros. Because blocks are chained together like this, alternatively of calling it a ledger, this is usually known as a Blockchain. As part of our up to date protocol, good now allow any individual on the earth to be a block creator. What this means is that theyll pay attention for the transactions being broadcast, accumulate them into a block, then do a whole bunch of labor to search out the certain number that makes the hash of this block begin with 60 zeros, and broadcast out the block they found. To reward a block creator for all this work, when she places collectively a block, good allow her to incorporate a unique transaction at the high wherein she will get, say, 10 LedgerDollars out of skinny air. This is called the block reward. Its a exact exception to our common rules about whether or to not accept transactions; it doesnt come from any person, so it doesnt ought to be signed. It also means that the complete number of LedgerDollars in our financial system increases with each new block.Growing blocks is traditionally known as mining, considering that it requires quite a lot of work, and it introduces new bits of foreign money into the economic system. But whilst you hear or examine miners, keep in mind that what theyre quite doing is creating blocks, broadcasting these blocks, and getting rewarded with new cash for doing so. From the miners point of view, each block is like a miniature lottery, where all people is guessing numbers as rapid as they can except one fortunate character finds person who makes the hash of the block begin with many zeros, and will get rewarded for doing so. The best way our protocol will now work for anyone making use of this process is that as an alternative of listening for transactions, you pay attention for brand new blocks being broadcast by way of miners, updating your possess personal reproduction of the blockchain. The key addition is that should you hear of two distinct blockchains with conflicting transaction histories, you defer to the longest one, the one with probably the most work put into it. If theres a tie, wait except you hear of another block that makes one longer. So even though there’s no relevant authority, and every body is keeping their own replica of the blockchain, if every body is of the same opinion to present preference to whichever blockchain has the most work put into it, we have a technique to reach at decentralized consensus. To peer why this makes for a nontoxic approach, and to appreciate at what factor you must trust that a cost is legit, its important to stroll through what it could take to idiot any individual on this approach. If Alice desires to idiot Bob with a fraudulent block, she would attempt to ship him one that includes a her paying him a hundred LedgerDollars, but without broadcasting that block to the relaxation of the network. That means every body else thinks she nonetheless has those a hundred LedgerDollars. To do this, shed must discover a legitimate proof of labor before all other miners, each engaged on their possess block. And that might happen! Probably Alice wins this miniature lottery earlier than anybody else. However Bob will nonetheless be hearing proclaims made through different miners, to be able to maintain him believing the fraudulent block Alice would have got to do all of the work herself to hold adding blocks to this specific fork in Bobs blockchain thats different from what hes listening to from the leisure of the miners.Take into account, as per the protocol Bob perpetually trusts the longest chain he knows about. Alice perhaps in a position to hold this up for a couple of blocks if simply by way of danger she occurs to search out blocks more speedily than all of the leisure of the miners on the community combined. But except Alice has virtually 50% of the computing assets among all miners, the likelihood turns into overwhelming that the blockchain that the entire other miners are engaged on grows rapid than the single fraudulent blockchain that Alice is feeding Bob. So in time Bob will reject what hes listening to from Alice in favor of the longer chain that everyone else is engaged on.Become aware of that means you shouldnt always trust a new block that you hear instantly. As a substitute, you must watch for several new blocks to be delivered on prime of it. If you happen to still havent heard of any further blockchains, which you could believe that this block is part of the identical chain all people else is utilizing. And with that, weve hit all of the predominant suggestions. This dispensed ledger procedure headquartered on a proof of labor is more or less how the Bitcoin protocol works, and what number of other cryptocurrencies work.Theres only some details to remedy. Previous I mentioned that the proof of labor might be to discover a specified quantity so that the hash of the block starts with 60 zeros. The way in which the exact bitcoin protocol works is to periodically exchange that quantity of zeros so that it should take, on typical, 10 minutes to discover a block. In order there are increasingly miners on the community, the project will get tougher and tougher in this sort of way that this miniature lottery only has about one winner each 10 minutes. Many more moderen cryptocurrencies have much shorter block times. The entire money in Bitcoin eventually comes from some block reward. These rewards 50 Bitcoin per block. Theres a pleasant site known as block explorer the place that you can seem by way of the bitcoin blockchain, and in the event you seem at the very first few blocks on the chain, they incorporate no transactions rather then the 50 Bitcoin reward to the miner. Every 210,000 blocks, which is ready each four years, that reward will get reduce in half. So proper now, the reward is at 12.5 Bitcoin per block, and seeing that this reward decreases geometrically over time, there’ll on no account be more than 21 million bitcoin in existence. However, this doesnt imply miners will discontinue getting cash. In addition to the block reward, miners may additionally choose up transactions charges. The best way this works is that whenever you’re making a cost, you could optionally include a small transaction price with it in an effort to go to the miner of something block entails that payment. The motive you would do that is to incentivize miners to honestly comprise the transaction you broadcast into the next block. You see, in Bitcoin, every block is restricted to about 2,400 transactions, which many critics argue is unnecessarily restrictive. For evaluation, Visa strategies an average of round 1,seven-hundred transactions per 2d, and theyre in a position of handling greater than 24,000 per second.Slower processing on Bitcoin method larger transactions fees, since thats what determines which transactions miners choose to incorporate in new blocks. This is some distance from a comprehensive insurance policy of cryptocurrencies. There are many nuances and alternate design alternatives I havent touched here, however expectantly this may furnish a steady Wait-however-Why-style tree trunk of working out for someone watching to add a few extra branches with further studying. Like I mentioned on the start, some of the motivations in the back of this video is that some huge cash has started flowing toward cryptocurrencies, and even though I dont wish to make any claims about whether thats a excellent or dangerous investment, I do think itd be healthful for people coming into this recreation to at least be aware of the fundamentals of the technological know-how.As consistently, my sincerest thanks these of you making this channel possible on Patreon.
Former Charlie’s Angel Star Jaclyn Smith Is ‘Thrilled’ to Be a Grandma: ‘I Don’t Want to Be Away From Her’
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push();
Jaclyn Smith couldn’t wait to become a grandmother.
“The love that you have for your children, it’s like ‘Oh my God. But this is even bigger — there are no words,” the former Charlie’s Angels star tells PEOPLE of welcoming granddaughter Bea in September 2016. “I was thrilled to become a grandma.”
Smith, 71, says she was a very protective parent but has learned to take notes from her daughter Spencer Margaret, 31, on being more laid-back as a first-time grandparent.
Michael Simon
“Last night we were playing with Bea and water got all over the sleeve of the pajamas and I go, ‘Oh that’s horrible!’ and Spencer Margaret said, ‘Mom, that’s gonna dry. She’s enjoying herself.’ She’s a free spirit, and that’s good,” says Smith.
Spencer Margaret’s husband, actor Fran Kranz, is currently working in New York, which means lots of grandma time for Bea at home in Los Angeles as well as on family trips around the globe.
MIchael Simon
“I got the chance to go to Rome recently and I wanted Spencer Margaret to come along,” says Smith. “She said, ‘Only if we can take Bea.’ I said of course! I don’t want to be away from her ever.”
Spencer Margaret’s pregnancy was not only a personal joy for Smith, but also led to a new professional endeavor for the family. As part of Smith’s ongoing partnership with Kmart, the actress and her daughter have launched a new layette set called Spencer.
“I was doing a meeting on my apparel line and I said, ‘I’d love to design baby clothes,’ ” says Smith, who recently starred opposite John Travolta in The People vs. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story and Katherine Heigl in Unforgettable. “And they listened and they said, ‘Boy, that’s the best idea I’ve heard.’ ”

“You maybe would think we’d see things the same way, but we don’t” Smith says of working with Spencer Margaret on the collection. “She made me better and I made her better. She has a very sensitive and critical eye and she just wont go with it if she doesn’t like it. She stepped up my game in this area. Her research that she did was fascinating.”
Mother and daughter started a Pinterest board where they would share ideas and inspirations for the collection.
“I knew she wanted soft, muted colors and I knew it was going to be a sophisticated take, not the typical pink and blue,” Smith says of going with hunter green, navy and gray for the boys’ line and “whimsical prints” for the girls’.
“I couldn’t have done this line without Spencer Margaret,” says Smith. “I couldn’t have made it as sophisticated. I maybe would have done it in a more baby-baby way. I think having multiple points of view is important — and making this a family project was a great way to spend time together.”
Spencer is now available at Kmarts nationwide and at Kmart.com.
