I’ve been watching the OA which I know now is just fucked up enough to maybe not be a great idea when you’re already feeling mentally unsteady but I’ve just finished part one and dear god why don’t people talk about this more it’s so complex and the world building leading up to puzzle pieces matching up it’s heart breaking and it’s breath taking and I am so fascinated by it and the many many questions it leaves me with

I feel very privileged and lucky to be living where I'm at now, I moved to Arizona on what was essentially a whim because a friend of mine and wilson's was looking for roommates for a house she wanted to get and she just. happened to invite us lol and it really is incredible
like I moved all the way from the great lakes region and it's insane how different it is. like duh I moved from the Midwest to the Mojave (that would make a good album title) of course its gonna be different but dude you have no idea how thankful I am for really small things, like consistent weather. I miss the rain and I know I'll be missing the snow but we do get monsoons from Mexico and we can always drive an hour north to flagstaff where its higher up in the mountains
we live in a valley and its so beautiful seeing the mountains literally everywhere I look. when I go running in the mornings and I can see the mountains in the distance I'm always in such awe at their beauty. I've always wanted to live near mountains (Ohio is technically an Appalachian state but you don't see the mountains until you go all the way east to the borders with Pennsylvania and west virginia) and I've always wanted to live in the desert and this is seriously the best of both worlds. I was gonna move out this year regardless but I was laid off from my job a lot sooner than I thought I'd be so im so fucking lucky that our friend gave us this opportunity, the difference between Arizona and Ohio is like night and day LOL
the only thing so far is that this is a Very purple state, so when you see really progressive stuff like strict nature conservation and an entire community big on charity, you also get the polar opposite and you get massive billboards going ABORTION IS ILLEGAL AND IT SHOULD STAY THAT WAY so it's a very interesting juxtaposition. coming from the part of ohio I'm from, which is Very red, I'm not so taken aback by the loud proclamations of controlling women and their bodies so much as I am by finding out people actually fucking care about wildlife here
oh and also everyone is extremely friendly until you get on the roads, the traffic here is horrible LMAO I have to learn how to drive like a maniac if I wanna get anywhere and survive. but I'm always caught off guard by the overt friendliness from everyone here and it makes me feel like im an asshole because I'm not used to kindness from strangers L O L
anyway im really happy being here and I feel extremely lucky and privileged because I went from a goddamn trailer park in a boring gray state to a gated community in one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen and it's literally all because I met these people on horny twitter
