Saiyan headcanons
Saiyans love hot baths. The kind of temperatures they best enjoy would be boiling to most people but to them is a perfect sauna.
They often take very personal trophies from their victories, like heads, limbs, or skin.
When a Saiyan is banished/exiled, they have their tails cut off as a mark of shame.
Some traditional Saiyan dishes do include bugs.
Before the Cold Empire’s conquest, Saiyan architecture was similar to that of the Aztecs/Mayans and India. You can also see it in the style of their artwork.
They also didn’t use armor much as they didn’t consider it necessary, but when they did the armor they wore included leather, metals, and furs. Common Saiyan armor was styled like the Vikings, while the armor used by the elite were more like the Mongolians.
Like in a lot of species, female Saiyans are not only just as strong as their male counterparts but can even be more dangerous. Females are more agile, methodical, strategic, and better at stealth. Like lionesses, they are capable of both attacking and defending. While female Saiyans are the primary caretakers of children and homesteads, this is because they are seen as reliable and highly capable at leading and protecting. If an army tried to attack a Saiyan camp because it was only wives and mothers, it would be the worst mistake.
Most Saiyans do not know what a “husband/wife” or “boyfriend/girlfriend” is or even what marriage means. They have mates and while there is courting involved it still basically goes if two people like each other a certain way they hook up, move in, and, more often than not, produce children. That’s it. Plain and simple. There are no certain terms, ceremonies, or pageantry.
Surprisingly, Saiyans are normally very loyal partners. They are monogamous and they more often than not mate for life.
A lot of Saiyans actually care about their children and can be super protective of them. As in, think of a mama bear or papa lion on PCP. Don’t mess with their kids.
They also carry them on their bodies, mostly their backs, not much different from how regular monkeys and apes do with their babies.
And when they’re not carried, Saiyan children hold on to their parent’s tail, kind of like with elephants.
Traditional Saiyan music kind of sounds like rock music and their dancing is the same as mosh pitting.
Yes, they hiss like cats. Why wouldn’t they?
Their battle cries sound like gorilla grunts and monkey howls and they bang on their chests like them.
Saiyans are fairly casual about nudity. They have mixed bath-houses and don’t have much problem with walking around naked before or after a bath or being injured. They even consider fighting nude and act of bravery and strength.
Saiyans have a very high tolerance for narcotics and alcohol. It takes quite a bit to make them intoxicated. Which is why their alcohol is extremely strong to the point it could give a man alcohol poisoning in little to no time.
While they prefer meat, they’re omnivores above all. They can eat just about anything. I mean anything. They have super strong stomachs that can store/digest anything. Like sharks, they’ll eat the most unusual things from time to time. If you cut open a Saiyan’s belly, you wouldn’t believe some of the stuff you would find in there, like a lost and found.
A Saiyan’s way of showing affection to their SO or relatives normally includes sharing food, bringing them presents from their hunts and other adventures, and grooming (namely picking out debris or whatnot from their hair). With their mates, they tend to bite (think of like with cats).
Speaking of which, Saiyans are very fierce in the bedroom as they are in the battlefield. Because of this, along with their brute strength and expansive energy, physical intimacy with a Saiyan can be tantamount to wrestling a bear or lion. You will most likely die or at least be seriously injured.
Saiyans have matches that are a lot like flyting, or rap battles. Essentially, they roast each other in rhythmic style. In Saiyan matches, expect some mother/father jokes and unflattering references to Frieza or King Cold.

just read ur entire essay about vegeta and like.. goddamn you just gave me a whole new perspective on that funky little man. i love the way it was written and organized
ALSO ALSO i read this bit and am begging u to expand on this concept it sounds so interesting /gen
Oh you would, would you. I am delighted to oblige.
So. Super Saiyan. A transformation available to Saiyans past certain power thresholds that, while more or less freely accessible after first awakening to it, needs a trigger to become accessible in the first place. Over the course of Z in its many adaptations, we see the first awakenings of Goku, Vegeta, Future Trunks, and Gohan onscreen. Goten, Trunks, and Future Gohan are also Super Saiyans, but we don’t know for sure how that came about. Goten and Trunks in particular are why I say that Super Saiyan (more specifically, the first time you access Super Saiyan) can be read as a trauma response, because there’s no real evidence this is the case on their parts. You can make an argument for them, but in general I choose to believe they’re exceptions to this take, so I won’t be discussing them.
Oh and as for Cabba, Caulifla, and Kale…… they’re literally from an alternate universe. Super Saiyan just has different rules there. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.
Getting back on track. Goku’s the obvious place to start, so let’s look at him first. In the entirety of Dragon Ball (that I’ve seen), not counting the comedic needle bit in that one episode of GT, Goku has only ever been seen crying three times. Once was his reunion with Grandpa Gohan in early Dragon Ball. Once was in the anime’s version of the Tournament of Power, after Roshi’s near-death incident.
Once was at the beginning of King Piccolo, when he finds Krillin dead. King Piccolo saga is a little infamous for the sudden tonal whiplash—yeah, Tien breaks Yamcha’s leg in the tournament just prior, but they make up about it and it’s not as dire as someone dying. What’s really striking to me about it is Goku’s reaction. He’s more upset than we’ve ever seen him. And he loses worse than we ever see him lose because of it. Sure, in the end everything is put right, but.
But, the thing about trauma is that it makes time go weird. Fast forward about ten years. It’s suddenly happening again. His best friend is dead. He couldn’t do anything to stop it. He doesn’t know that Porunga can revive people who have already died once. As far as Goku knows, Krillin’s gone for good this time. And he watched it happen and watched Freeza laugh about it.
And he reacts essentially the same way. Only this time, he’s orders of magnitude stronger than he was when he was 15, and he has the experience and the wherewithal to control himself somewhat better. Emphasis on somewhat, because it’s very clear that he’s worried about going completely off the deep end in the grips of this power. And he’s right to be! I’m willing to bet money that in Gohan’s whole life, Goku has never pulled the ‘I’m your father, don’t talk back to me’ card on him, and that’s one of the smallest ways this power changes him. When he’s fighting Freeza, he’s a lot more like Vegeta, down to the way he smirks. He’s condescending. He’s brutal. I’ve seen comments to the effect of ‘Freeza’s not fighting Goku anymore—now, Freeza’s fighting Kakarot’ and that’s truly what it feels like.
I could go on, but the particulars of the Namek fight aren’t the important part. The important part is that Goku recognizes how badly that whole thing fucked him up and stays on Yardrat for a year explicitly to get a handle on Super Saiyan before returning home. He knows that if he loses control like that again, there’s a very real possibility he’ll end up hurting someone he cares about, or worse, becoming someone he really doesn’t want to be. (Call it a reach, it definitely is one, but I like to believe Goku picked up Instant Transmission while he was there so he’ll never be too late or too far away to help ever again.)
Vegeta’s case is less… visible? So, much of this is going to be purely my extrapolation. If you take him at his word, Vegeta triggered Super Saiyan with the sheer amount of hatred he felt toward himself for his inadequacy and like. Hello. That’s already a giveaway. I don’t believe he’s outright lying, but I also believe he’s simplifying matters a little. Or a lot. Per My Last Long-Winded Essay, he only gets that far because he leaves Earth entirely for areas uninhabited, which is good for him in some respects and bad for him in others.
The sweet irony of it is that it was Vegeta’s own efforts that locked him out of Super Saiyan. He tried to brute-force his way into it singlemindedly, in the belief that he was simply not strong enough, but Super Saiyan’s trigger is raw, overwhelming emotion. It can be one very clear emotion, or several different ones mixed up, but it’s emotion. It doesn’t answer to logic by its very nature, and frankly, neither does trauma. So Vegeta’s removed all the distractions to his training, yes, but in doing so he’s also removed all the distractions from everything else. Without anybody else around, he doesn’t have anything to get himself out of his own head, so now he’s got a whole universe of space for two and a half decades’ worth of repressed shit to come raging out. Funny how the minute he lets himself feel actual emotions other than the ones he wants everyone to see, the transformation explicitly tied to and powered by emotion rears its head, huh.
Vegeta makes several really dumb decisions once he gets back on Earth, in sharp contrast to the way he handles himself on Namek before he’s face-to-face with Freeza. On Namek, he’s careful to fly under the radar whenever he can, which is why I love the fit he launches into when he realizes Gohan played him, because that’s his control slipping. He’s opportunistic and sneaky and it’s clear he’s doing his damnedest to get what he wants without having to fight people who can kill him. He doesn’t hear the Ginyu Force is coming and rush off to challenge them, he’s like ‘oh shit’ and immediately fucks off elsewhere. I can only make sense of the way he acts during the androids/Cell as a symptom of his need to prove himself.
And make no mistake—it is a need, not a want. The power’s meaningless without people to witness and acknowledge it, the same way the authority of royalty is. His chosen course of action, though, is sort of like painting over rotten wood, if that makes any sense. Letting himself get high off the power, pretending that everything went exactly the way it should have gone from the start, refusing to acknowledge all of his Issues more than passingly. Furthermore, his victory must be complete and unquestionable: that’s why he lets Cell take Android 18. He can’t just… not lose, he has to win. Anything less is anathema to him. You see, he hasn’t yet figured out that he can survive without it.
Okay sorry that got a little in the weeds but I hope you get what I was driving at there. Vegeta’s a mess and talking about him makes me Unstable. Let’s move on.
Of the main four Saiyans, I think Future Trunks’ awakening is the simplest to understand: his trigger is that moment of pure, crushing grief when he finds Gohan dead in the rain. And it’s no wonder. Aside from Gohan and his mother, who does Trunks even talk to in that timeline? We never see him with friends, not until Super. Trunks’ ‘You were everything to me’ in the dub version of the special might be only debatably canon but it’s hardly an exaggeration. Friend. Teacher. Comrade. Brother. Perhaps even a father figure, in some ways. Certainly the only other one of his kind—half-human, half-alien from a long-dead warrior race. There was literally nobody else in the world who could come close to understanding him to the degree that Gohan could have. Gohan dies and Trunks is effectively all alone, the terminarch of one species left to shoulder the fate of another.
It’s a staggering loss for anybody, let alone for a boy of 12 or 13.
Speaking of. Gohan. I think Gohan’s a strange case—not powered by grief or anger, but something different. In the moments before he unlocks Super Saiyan, he’s thinking ‘I have to do it’ before flashing abruptly to all the different times where he was ‘too weak or too scared’ to fight. I personally believe that it’s less determination or ‘the power coming in response to a need’, as Goku puts it, that tips him over the edge. Fear, I think—while not being the whole reason, there’s surely some self-directed anger or disappointment involved—is probably the biggest factor. That’s Gohan’s whole thing—he’s scared of fighting, and to some degree of his own power. If I laid out all the specific examples we’d be here for another thousand words, so I’ll just say that he’s been Through It. We all know this.
This sort of has a continuation in the iconic Super Saiyan 2 transformation against Cell. It’s all on him and it’s not until Cell actually kills someone in front of Gohan that it really twigs that it’s do or die for him. And as much as he’s angry at Cell, the realization that Cell means business, that he really will kill them all? It scares him. Fight or flight takes over. The only real difference is that he chooses fight. The change in how Gohan handles Cell is what really convinces me that emotionally he’s going through something similar to Goku and Vegeta—because it’s almost to the letter exactly what happens with Goku against Freeza. The cruelty, the condescension. I’d argue Gohan leans into the mean demeanor, subconsciously or not, to keep from feeling the fear. And it costs him. But the Gohan discussion is a whole other discussion.
As for Future Gohan, I’m putting a disclaimer here now that none of what I’m about to say is really provable—just really really interesting to think about.
Future Gohan’s life is maybe the worst-case scenario. Like the future timeline sucks specifically for Gohan because he doesn’t like to fight and he has to anyway because what other choice does he have? Let everyone on Earth die without at least trying? He couldn’t, not in good conscience. And it’s not like he’ll have a normal life so long as the androids are around anyway. So in the middle of grieving basically everybody he’s ever known and felt affection for (sans his mother and grandfather, it’s more implied that he’s estranged from them, or at least intentionally distancing himself from them to keep them out of harm’s way), he's also making himself channel anger he hates feeling so he has a shot of even surviving these killers that only exist because of something his father did at least ten years ago. This shouldn’t be his fight, and yet.
Here’s my personal theory. Gohan goes into that final fight with the androids fully intending to die. Not just expecting to, but hoping to. He knows that if he was only barely scraping through those fights with both arms, there’s no way in hell he’ll kill them both when he only has one. He’s not an idiot, but you know what he is? Exhausted. Twelve years of this, being the only resistance to this threat and failing each and every time. He knows what will unlock Super Saiyan for Trunks. He knows there’s someone to carry on the torch and lift the burden. And it’s cruel and selfish of him to put all of that on Trunks and throw himself to the wolves, but it was cruel that he had to carry that all by himself for so long.
He’s fucking tired.
Anyways. That’s my TEDtalk on Super Saiyan. If you read it all the way to the end you’re a real one. Thanks for this ask, you two!

More headcanons because I’m sick and have nothing better to do~
This post? Raditz! Radish boy shall receive some love~
Very silly and of course it’s just headcanons so please don’t take these too seriously.
•Raditz is a tsundere through and through both for relationships and friendships.
•He’s the outlier of the group of 3, the other two being Vegeta and Nappa.
•Doesn’t get stronger like the others because he is too much of a coward to pick on anyone stronger than him.
•Grouchiest of the three, yes, even more so than Vegeta.
•His tail is super sensitive, most definitely his weakness.
•Relies on his scouter too much as he doesn’t trust his own instincts from constantly being invalidated by Vegeta and Nappa.
•Seeing as he doesn’t really have friends, befriending Raditz would mean him being quite insecure and likely having him being very possessive or having a fear of abandonment.
•If he’s extra grouchy, get that man food asap and lots of it.
•His tail reveals a lot about his feeling and emotions in the moment - that’s if it’s not wrapped around his waist.
•Struggles with human technology, so imagine you’re living with him (platonically or romantically, doesn’t matter) and you wake up to noises at 3am with the man trying to get a microwave to work. So yes…the man can use Saiyan pods and scouters but microwaves stump him.
•You know what, technophobe when it comes to earthling tech, you would see many phones destroyed because he can’t manage it.
•Or hearing him argue with Siri/Alexa/Google because everything isn’t working how he wants.
•But by no means does this make Raditz stupid. He’s smart but just doesn’t get the opportunity to really say anything.
•Looks up to Vegeta and Nappa, he just wants some form of acceptance goddamn it.
•Acts mean because it’s all he’s ever known - how he’s been treated.
•Of the three remaining Saiyans in the Frieza Force, I imagine he gets the least amount of name calling as the other two as he’s just kinda there? Raditz strikes me as someone who’s closed off.
•And due to ill treatment from his teammates I think he believes that being mean in the best way to communicate with people he’s interested in.
•Also…maybe a bit promiscuous. Frieza did assume Gohan was Raditz’s son so…I’ll leave that open ended, as I tend to stay relative SFW on here.
Someone socialise this man, he deserved to be around longer. So did Nappa to be fair.

Grailfinders #329: Sakamoto Ryouma (Lancer)
today on Grailfinders we’re building the best argument for a completely superfluous Grailfinders episode, Sakamoto Ryouma (Lancer)! it’s Sakamoto, but again! in-game it’s a stronger version of the original, but here we take all the builds to level twenty regardless of their rarity. what I could do to differentiate this build from the first stumped me for a while, but I think I’ve hit on something.
Ryouma’s still an Echo Knight Fighter to summon his wife as a bonus action, but now instead of a monk and a rogue, he’s a Lore Bard to learn some buffing spells for oryou’s super-saiyan mode.
check out their build breakdown below the cut, or their character sheet over here!
next up: you better watch out, you better watch out, you better watch out! you better watch out!
Ancestry & Background
I won’t bore you too much here, it’s exactly the same as before (except for one thing). Variant Human, so that’s +1 Wisdom and Charisma, Stealth proficiency, and instead of that UA feat we’re getting Magic Initiate for some Druid spells. Primal Savagery is how oryou will be attacking most of the time now, using her acidic claws instead of your piddly strength score. you also embrace modern technology like weather stations with Druidcraft, and Oryou can keep you safe thanks to her Protection from Evil and Good. Ryouma’s still a Soldier though, so that’s some History and Intimidation proficiency for you.
Ability Scores
this one’s 100% the same. highest to lowest- Charisma, Dexterity, Wisdom, Intelligence, Constitution, Strength. I would love to be able to stat up oryou this time around, but sadly Ryouma’s still the main servant.
Class Levels
1. Fighter 1: this Ryouma’s a bit more martial since he’s a knight class, so he’s starting off as a Fighter. this means his starting proficiencies are completely different, getting proficiency in Strength and Constitution saves, as well as Insight to see through political bullshit and Animal Handling to stretch the definition of “animal” to its breaking point. and “handling”, for that matter.
also, starting as a fighter gets us oryou’s Fighting Style earlier, so pick up Unarmed Fighting, just in case those claws don’t work out. if you’d rather grab something for Ryouma, I’d just go with Two-weapon Fighting and reflavor a rapier as a light spear, with a shortsword in his off-hand.
you also get a Second Wind once a short rest, giving you back some HP as a bonus action thanks to the power of oryou’s healing spit. …she does really have healing spit, right? I didn’t just hallucinate that while forcing my way through the event?
2. Fighter 2: second level fighters can make an Action Surge once a short rest, adding an action to your turn so you can fight like there’s two of you. because there is.
3. Fighter 3: as a third level fighter you become an Echo Knight, letting you Manifest Echo as a bonus action. now oryou can float around in her own space without using your action to move, as long as she’s within 30’ of you whenever your turn ends. it has a good AC but only one HP, so expect to spend your bonus action bringing oryou back a lot. while she’s out you can swap places as a bonus action, and you can attack and make attacks of opportunity from her space. primal savagery doesn’t count as an attack for this, so I guess oryou’s relying on her fists when she’s not hanging around you. that’s disappointing, but we’ll find a way to make her awesome later on.
also, you can Unleash Incarnation once a day to make an extra attack from the echo’s position. if you want to let oryou use a dex weapon, I won’t tell anyone, promise.
4. Bard 1: bouncing over to bard gives you proficiency in Persuasion, as well as the ability to cast Spells using your Charisma. you can also give Bardic Inspiration to your allies Charisma Modifier times per day, letting them add a d6 to any one attack roll, save, or check they make in the minute after you hand it over.
to be more specific about spells, you have Blade Ward to be protected by oryou physically with resistance to weapon damage, and Mage Hand to have her carry random stuff around, for your cantrips. you also get spells like Distort Value to be a smooth-talking bastard that can convince a whole town to sell him their rice supply, Heroism to make everyone else more ardent supporters of restoration, Feather Fall so oryou can save your frail ass from falling, and Thunderwave so she can punch people so hard they go flying.
5. Bard 2: second level bards are Jacks of All Trades, so now you’re at least half-proficient in every skill. you also have a Song of Rest, so you can add more health to your party over short rests. your gf with one hit point will be grateful.
you can also use Unseen Servant now; in case you need to send oryou off on some errands. a vastly, vastly weaker version of oryou, but an oryou none the less.
6. Bard 3: third level bards can learn up on some Lore, giving you an extra three proficiencies, like in Deception, Arcana, and Athletics. this is still Ryouma after all, did you think I’d forget deception? this is also the level you get Expertise in two skills, doubling your proficiency bonus in Insight and Persuasion.
you also get second level spells like Gift of Gab. Ryouma’s good with words, but you probably aren’t. at least, not as good as he is. with this spell you can undo any unfortunate wordings and rewrite your last six seconds of dialogue.
when you want painful dialogue, you can use Cutting Words to spend inspiration on weakening a creature’s attack, check, or damage roll. if your wife only has 1 HP, she’ll need some protecting too. only a little.
7. Bard 4: fourth level bards finally get an Ability Score Improvement, so you can bump up your Dexterity for better spearing an better dodging.
you also learn the Friends cantrip to force your way into conversations, and the Aid spell for our first taste of healing. is giving your echo an extra 5 HP a good use of a spell? god no. could it be cool? maybe! at least you can also give that buff to a couple other friends at the same time.
8. Bard 5: at fifth level you are a Font of Inspiration, so your inspiration dice refill on short rests as well as long ones. they’re also d8s now, so they’re more effective over-all. on top of that, you get third level spells like Mass Healing Word to top off the whole party in one go.
9. Bard 6: sixth level bards get Countercharm, but that’s pretty much useless, we’re here for Additional Magical Secrets, a feat that I will never get tired of pointing out comes before the first magical secrets. basically, you get two extra spells, and they can be from any spell list. use Tidal Wave to send a little splashback at your enemies, and Primal Savagery again to use charisma instead of wisdom. it’s still tied to just you, but now we’re using your good casting modifier.
for his normal spell Sakamoto gets Motivational Speech, a slightly more offense-based heroism, because by this point Acquisitions Incorporated might as well be bankrolling this build.
10. Bard 7: seventh level bards get fourth level spells, and now oryou can finally set off completely on her own with the help of the spells Phantasmal Killer. every turn the target has to make a wisdom save or they’ll take psychic damage. real simple, but real effective.
11. Bard 8: use this ASI to bump up your Charisma for stronger spells and more inspiration, and now you can Charm Monsters. I mean, you already charmed one!
12. Bard 9: ninth level bards have a better song of rest, and you can also use fifth level spells like Scrying. literally just. send oryou off to spy on people.
13. Bard 10: tenth level bards have d10s for inspiration, plus another round of Expertise! now you’ve got better animal handling and deception. you also get Thunderclap for a free oryou punch, and another round of Magical Secrets!
now you can Summon Draconic Spirit for a full oryou summoning with much more than 1 HP. they get a bunch of resistances, and she even shares one of them with you! on top of that even at the lowest level you can cast it at, oryou will be able to make three attacks each turn! if you just want uppies, you can use Freedom of the Winds to get a piggyback ride from oryou, giving you a flight speed, as well as advantage against being grappled, restrained, or paralyzed. oryou can also yeet you away from an incoming attack or spell, and if you land outside of its range, you take no damage. of course, this also means your ride is over.
14. Bard 11: remember how I mentioned Ryouma conned a whole town out of their food? now it’s time to use it. Heroes’ Feast gives everyone who partakes a panacea against disease and poison, immunity to poison and being frightened, advantage on wisdom saves, and increased HP, all for 24 hours. this is the benefit of being a 5 star.
15. Bard 12: use your last bardic ASI to receive the Gift of the Metallic Dragon. with this, you can cast Cure Wounds once a day for free or by spending spell slots, and oryou can shield you or your allies as a reaction, adding your proficiency bonus to their AC, and you can do that proficiency times a day.
16. Bard 13: thirteenth level bards get seventh level spells like Etherealness. for up to eight hours you can travel around the ethereal plane without having to worry about anything on the material plane, creatures or objects. this seems out of place for Ryouma, but tbf literally every servant should have this spell.
17. Bard 14: at level fourteen your Peerless Skills lets you add inspiration dice to any ability check you make. you’re two people, you should roll like two people. well, one and a half. you both have your weaknesses and it evens out.
you also get one last round of Magical Secrets, turning yourself into oryou in one of two ways! if you want raw power, Tenser’s Transformation gives you plenty of extra health and stronger attacks, but if you want a more thematic transformation, there’s always Draconic Transformation, giving you blindsight, a breath weapon, and wings.
18. Fighter 4: going back to fighter gets you yet another ASI, so bump up your Dexterity for more lancing.
19. Fighter 5: fifth level fighters get an Extra Attack each attack action, that’s two per turn, four with action surge, and up to five with unleash incarnation. sorry it took so long to get this, I just felt the dragon stuff was higher priority.
20. Fighter 6: fighters are awesome, so we get to end this build with another ASI! this time we’re getting the Gift of the Chromatic Dragon, allowing you to add elemental damage to your weapon for up to a minute, and you can react to gain resistance to one instance of elemental damage proficiency times a day. now oryou protects you from everything!
Pros & Cons
Pros:
you have a lot of Protection, so actually getting a solid hit in on you is tough. you have a pretty good AC, plus many, many ways to increase your AC or your save or reduce incoming damage.
you’re also great outside of combat, with tons of expertise in social skills, high charisma, and a way to add even more dice to your skill checks. you will definitely be the face of the party. either you or oryou, at least.
I know I bring this up every time, but flying is awesome. it nullifies most enemies, and it’s just a really cool way to get around.
Cons:
you need all that protection because you’re a politician, not a fighter. you have barely over 100 HP, so a sneeze will put you into power word kill range.
echo knight is super fun, but this time it’s hard to use in combat for us, since oryou’s in-character options for hitting anything are “attack with a -1 to hit” or “hope the DM is kind enough to bend the rules for you.” without a good way to deal damage, the echo knight stuff is just an easily popped balloon.
our biggest goals don’t happen until late game, so for most of the campaign your build will be more awkward than anything else.

Dragon Ball Super Manga Ch.1-4
What’s that? Did you think we were done with Battle of Gods? No, we need to go over it a third time.
So after the success of the Battle of Gods and Resurrection F movies, Toei began producing the Dragon Ball Super anime, while Shueisha began publishing the Dragon Ball Super manga. Both started up around the summer of 2015, and both made the... uh... bold choice to retell the Battle of Gods movie.
The weird thing is that both versions have significant differences from the original story. They don’t even agree with each other, and I don’t understand what the point of this is. The basic plot points are the same, but the details change. For example, Beerus wakes up in the movie and pretty much heads straight to the North Kai Planet to meet Goku. In the anime, Beerus visits at least one other planet instead, and he decides to only destroy half of it because their food was good, but too greasy. Then he destroys a second planet and the explosion reminds him of the Super Saiyan God premonition.
In the manga, he visits an alien planet, and the locals try to poison his food, but it doesn’t work. One of their dishes is named Soup D’Saian Gahd, which jogs Beerus’ memory of his premonition, and he destroys the entire planet, not just half like he did in the anime.
My whole beef is this: Who is this for? A lot of times, you’ll see a movie come out, and there’ll be a novelization, and maybe a video game, and maybe a comic book or something. They might vary in content, but mostly because not everyone had access to the final script. I’ve heard that in the novelization of Empire Strikes Back, Yoda is described as being blue, probably because the author didn’t know they had picked green when principal photography began.
But the point is that those are different media, with different priorities. With Battle of Gods, we have an animated movie, and animated TV series, and a comic book that resembles the art style of the movie as closely as possible. The implication is that all three need to be the same, and yet they’re frustratingly different in minor, nitpicky ways.
To be sure, the classic Dragon Ball anime and manga had differences, but for a reason. The anime would pad out scenes and invent whole new ones to sustain its production schedule while the manga was being published simultaneously. Here, that doesn’t apply, because you have a TV show and a comic book adapting a two-year-old movie. Also, there seems to be no interest in making both versions agree with each other.
So let’s explain how this works. You see Akira Toriyama’s name listed all over the DBS manga, but his involvement is pretty minimal. When they list him as “author”, they mean he’s the guy who created all the characters. It’s like when they put “Based on Star Trek created by Gene Roddenberry” on every episode of Star Trek. Gene’s been dead for over thirty years, and even before that, it’s not like he was writing all the scripts.
Instead, the DBS manga is written and drawn by Toyotaro, a different artist who was chosen by Toriyama. As I understand it, the formula for Dragon Ball Super is this: Toriyama will come up with a plot outline, then send it to Toyotaro, who expands it into a full story. Toyotaro is an extremely controversial figure in the Dragon Ball fandom, mostly for high crimes such as “drawing the Dragon Ball comic”, and “existing”.
For my part, I gave up on the DBS manga when it became apparent that it wasn’t going to do anything I wasn’t already getting from the anime. But after the anime ended, Toyotaro finally got to tell original stories like the Moro and Granolah arcs, and that’s why I decided to finally read the manga this year. Unfortunately, it means I gotta wade through a bunch of reruns to get to the good stuff.
I suspect Toyotaro was similarly frustrated with this arrangement, because his Battle of Gods adaptation is very short--only four chapters long. And there is no Resurrection F adaptation at all, which is lucky for me. I think Toyotaro was champing at the bit to get this series moving, and in the meantime, he managed to work in some new additions where he could.
For instance, chapter 1 pretty much follows Goku’s POV from Episode 1 of the anime. We see him doing exercises while Goten drives his tractor, but Toyotaro also shows him imagining his old enemies while he does his drills. This is handy, as it gives Toyotaro an excuse to put Cell in the manga. Also, I find it kind of amusing that Goku’s training regimen is exactly the same thing his real-world fans do on the playground.
Vegeta is barely in this thing, save for the part where he fights Beerus on Bulma’s cruise ship, so Toyotaro puts in some side panels of the guy, like this one of Mr. Satan trying to give him his award money.
Or, this one of Vegeta learning the Bingo dance he did in the movie, but not in the anime. He also doesn’t do it in this comic, either, as the manga version skips over most of the party. All we get is another panel of Vegeta lamenting that he didn’t get to show off his dance.
We also get this page where he explains who Beerus is to the others, while also covering the flashback to when he first met Beerus as a child. I really like the way this comic is laid out. I don’t enjoy a rushed re-telling of Battle of Gods, but Toyotaro definitely does a great job with the assignment he’s been given.
The only new plot element here is the introduction of Champa and Vados, who are destroying planets while Beerus searches for the Super Saiyan God. They don’t want to alert him to their presence, but fortunately he’s too busy to notice them. The only ones who do notice are the Elder Kai and Kibitoshin, who deduce that Champa is looking for the Dragon Balls, but not the ones on Earth. Accordingly, Kibitoshin goes to New Namek to collect their Dragon Balls, thinking this will foil Champa’s plan.
Then it turns out that’s not what it was about at all, so Kibitoshin uses the Namekian Dragon Balls to dissolve his fusion. So now he’s Kibito and Shin again. This would be reflected in the anime, when we see these two in the Universe 6 arc. So I’m guessing this was thrown into show how that happened.
Meanwhile, Champa destroys a Frieza Force ship just as it locates a Dragon Ball. So apparently the Balls Champa are looking for are a third set. According to Garana, the commander of the ship Champa destroyed, these Dragon Balls are enormous. The Frieza Force’s leader, Sorbet, is more concerned with the disappearance of another platoon of his troops. This convinces him that their only hope is to resurrect Frieza.
Meanwhile, some sort of Battle of Gods happens. Goku turns into a Super Saiyan God, but he can’t beat Beerus, yadda yadda. In the movie, Beerus blew up a small piece of the Earth to satisfy his word. In the anime, Beerus faked falling asleep so he could spare the Earth without looking like he’d changed his mind. Here, he just decides to spare the Earth, at least for the time being.
So yeah, that’s about it. The art is great, but it’s nothing we haven’t seen before. These four chapters are saddled with recapping a movie while also setting up events in Res F and the Universe 6 arc, neither of which needed a lot of prologue to begin with. I mean, seriously, Resurrection F starts with Sorbet deciding to wish back Frieza. The Universe 6 arc starts with Champa arriving on Beerus’ planet and stating his business. It’s not that complicated.

could i request jack, sebek, trey, leona, and idia with a short gender neutral s/o who is very strong like hercules? s/o is about orthos height (like 150cm i think) thank youu~
This is a pretty funny one lolll you got it captain 🫡 ty for requesting and I hope this is to your liking!
~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~
Trey Clover
To say Trey was surprised by your…less than humanly strength was an understatement. The fact that you could literally lift an entire bookshelf full of hardcover books is nothing to sneeze at, at all. What was the limits of your strength? Please don’t test them, you’ll definitely worry the poor student
You are very adamant about protecting Trey, you have the power to do so, so why not? Trey is flattered that you’d like to use your skills to keep him safe but it’s not as if he encounters danger constantly so he assures you that you can lower your guard
He’d never ask you to do anything strenuous, but sometimes it’s just natural for you to take half of the stack of things he’s carrying, wishing to lighten the load. Trey will be immensely grateful but also remind you that he too has strength within him
It’s honestly the cutest thing in the world to him, his tiny lover being so strong and protective over him. He may not seem like the type but on the inside, Trey is swooning over his s/o. Who knew he’d have the chance to meet such an amazing person?
Leona Kingscholar
Leona can only stare when he realizes that your small frame actually contains the power of a thousand men within it. Well…this Herbivore sure has some tricks up their sleeve huh?
Totally, 100% makes you carry him to bed. If it’s been a really long day and he’s throughly irritated, Leona is already matching his way towards you, demanding that you carry him to his room so that you guys can take a well deserved nap
I honestly believe Leona will try to have an arm wrestle with you. Maybe you’re the one who suggests it, or it’s from his curiosity but either way, he’s ready for it. He loses five seconds in—
Leona doesn’t care how strong you are though, you’re still his s/o at the end of the day and he doesn’t tolerate anyone trying to pick a fight with you. He’d turn them into sand before they’d ever get to lay a finger in ya~
Jack Howl
Jack is very impressed!! Smaller people in his mind are usually those that need to be protected, so when you’re able to piggy back him like he weights nothing, Jack’s expression is priceless. He gets flustered though, like a lot, cause he’s definitely never been picked up before so easily
He honestly may become a bit cautious of you, not for long though, he soon learns that your strength is never used for the wrong purposes. Something he greatly respects you for, and is one of the things he loves about his strong s/o
Another one who won’t let anyone harm you, even if you can clearly protect yourself. Jack still feels that it’s his job to make sure you don’t get hurt, and he surely does an amazing job at it! Jack may not be a fan of violence but he’s ready to throw hands if he has to, for your sake of course
Sometimes Jack may stare as you lift heavy things, batting his eyelashes and blank staring all the while. He’s always at a loss for words when it comes to your strength…did you train to get this way? How long? It’s something that can’t be explained but Jack is still curious lol
Idia Shroud
PLEASE LIFT HIM UP LIKE SIMBA!!!!
Idia’s gonna totally have a mental breakdown when was sees you pick up one of his heavy inventions like it’s nothing and move it aside. What in the world did he just witness? Has he finally gone stir crazy?
Ortho is also supppeeerrr interested in your abnormal strength, saying that it just doesn’t add up given how small you are. But let’s be real, Ortho is definitely strong as well he’s just hiding his super saiyan powers 👀
I just imagine you guys going on a date to the amusement park and they have those strength meters and you just break the scale in order to get Idia all the prizes he wants. Your boyfriend’s mortified but it’s all worth it in the end ;)
Sebek Zigvolt
Sebek has to take a moment, a very long moment. How…can a human of all creatures have such strength? It was unfathomable and for a while before the two of you got together, Sebek was convinced you were some kind of human fae hunter. Why else would someone so small need that kind of strength?
You have to show him many, many times that you don’t have any ill will towards anyone, it just so happens that you have a lot of strength. Your best way is by helping around the dorm, lifting things that others can’t is usually the easiest display of ‘I’m not going to hurt anyone just because I have the strength’
It takes some time but Sebek eventually gets used to it, and may even become fond of it! He’s proud that his s/o can be of great service to his waka-sama, the both of you will be an impenetrable force when it comes to protecting Malleus (he’s delusional honestly)
Your strength definitely comes in handy for when Sebek is once again being too overbearing towards Malleus. Just grab him right on up by the scruff of his shirt and haul ass, no if’s and’s or but’s! You may get a scolding but it’s okay, nothing a hug and apologetic kiss can’t fix UwU

Hii, I hope you’re doing good and are getting well through the pandemic!💗 Huge fan of your writing, especially your head canons!!
I was wondering if I could request a nsfw alphabet w Vegeto/Gogeta please? Or just some kind of nsfw headcanons in general? If u have done one already feel free to dismiss this^^
Have a lovely morning/day/evening/night!
A/N: Thank you so much for being such a sweetie and requesting a very fun request! I had lots of fun writing for these two, and I hope you enjoy it as well! Gogeta in Bold and Vegito in Italics!!
A = Aftercare (what they’re like after sex)
Gogeta is very sweet after sex, despite being cocky when he’s fucking you hard. He’ll be gentle, and clean you up and just cuddle up. He enjoys feeling you so close to him.
Vegito can be a little sweet as well, but he doesn’t want to appear weak, even if it is just in front of you. He’ll clean you up and cuddle you, but he’s not going to have pillowtalk.
B = Body part (their favorite body part of theirs and also their partner’s)
Hmm, this is a tough one for Gogeta. He’s going to have to say maybe his arms...ohhh or his legs! It’s too hard for him to pick. He’s super strong, and he enjoys his physique. On you, it would be your pretty little mouth...er, your smile, rather. Though, you do look good with cock in your mouth.
Vegito loves all of himself. He’s not picky at all, and he thinks all of his physique is peak form. It’s pretty much a no brainer there. For you, it’s your thighs. He loves being buried between your cushiony and soft thighs, and when you make those pretty little noises and you’re squeezing your thighs around his head, he is weak.
C = Cum (anything to do with cum, basically)
Gogeta is so messy with his cum. He’ll cum inside of you, if you like that. If not, he’ll cum all over you, painting you with his seed. He likes to watch you with his seed all over you, and he’ll scoop some up to feed you some.
Vegito has a breeding kink. It’s the Vegeta in this fusion that dominates, so he just needs to cum inside of you. It’s his favorite thing in the whole world. It’s just so fucking good when your pussy milks him for all he is worth.
D = Dirty secret (pretty self explanatory, a dirty secret of theirs)
Gogeta and Vegito actually share the same secret, and it was to be able to fuck you at the same time(so a threesome with Vegeta and Goku). As this is the most viable way to have a threesome with both of them, they are both content with it.
E = Experience (how experienced are they? do they know what they’re doing?)
Gogeta is a bit less experienced, as Goku is the dominating one here. He’s not really the most interested in knowing how to have sex properly. He just does what feels good, and if you’re having a good time, then it’s great! If not, he’s quick to learn how to please you.
Vegito has a good amount of experience. He knows how to make you weak and very very wet. It’s one of his best techniques honestly. He just knows where to touch you and how to make you cum so quickly.
F = Favorite position (this goes without saying)
Gogeta enjoys the om position, but he’s big on cowgirl as well. Something about having you in his lap or riding him makes him so horny. He loves watching you ride him, and the way your tits bounce...it’s really nice.
Vegito loves doggy style. He loves bending you over desks or counters to pound himself into you over and over again. If you get on all fours in bed, he’ll consider this is you presenting yourself to him.
G = Goofy (are they more serious in the moment? are they humorous? etc.)
Gogeta is pretty serious, but he can make some dumb remarks or jokes sometimes. He likes to keep things fun in bed, and sometimes he’ll just say some sexy joke or something dumb, but it’s funny and keeps things interesting in bed.
Vegito is very serious, and he gets into the moment. Sometimes, he’ll say something sexual or make a little dirty joke, but nothing crazy. He loves the serious aspect of fucking.
H = Hair (how well groomed are they? does the carpet match the drapes? etc.)
Gogeta is a little messy down there. He tries to keep it clean, but it grows very very very very fast. It’s the Saiyan genetics. Their hair doesn’t really stay cut even when it is cut. The carpet matches the drapes.
Vegito does what he can to keep the hair down there maintained. He has a different way of taking care of his pubic hair, and he enjoys it much more when he’s clean anyway. The carpet also matches the drapes.
I = Intimacy (how are they during the moment? the romantic aspect)
Gogeta can be pretty sweet about having sex, but something he just says dumb stuff and it can take you out of the moment. He tries to just be very sweet, kind and attentive to your needs though.
Vegito is a little different. He can be degrading and rough with you, calling you names. But he can be romantic when he’s feeling a little more needy.
J = Jack off (masturbation headcanon)
Gogeta doesn’t really understand the need to masturbate. He’s got you for that, doesn’t he? He’ll do it if he’s super desperate, but it’s odd because he is the fused form of Vegeta and Goku, so it can get awkward.
Vegito does not masturbate. He’s got great self-control and he doesn’t need to get himself off if you aren’t around to help with that. Besides, it would fluster him anyway.
K = Kink (one or more of their kinks)
Gogeta has a bit of a size kink. He’ll be so turned on by towering over you and making you feel and look so small. If you let him pick you up in his arms and just manhandle you a little bit, he’ll be so hard.
Vegito has a breeding kink of course. He needs to cum inside of you and for you to tell him that you’re his and nobody else’s and that you’ll carry his baby. It’s just something that triggers inside of him.
L = Location (favorite places to do the do)
Gogeta isn’t picky about fucking you in all kinds of different places. He loves it anywhere he can, but he understands that inside your own home can be nice as well. It’ll give you more time without the chance of someone catching you red-handed.
Vegito absolutely wants privacy when he fucks you. It’s got to be somewhere that nobody else will find you. He wants to spend as much time as he can when he’s fucking you. He doesn’t want anyone coming in.
M = Motivation (what turns them on, gets them going)
For Gogeta, you really need to be clear about what you want. Place your hand on his thigh, and lean up to whisper in his ear “I want you right now,”. That should help, but if you need to be even more clear, just palm him through your pants.
Vegito doesn’t need a whole lot. If you touch his thigh, and give him a sensual look, he’s already rock hard. It doesn’t take a whole lot to turn him on.
N = No (something they wouldn’t do, turn offs)
Gogeta isn’t interested in anal, scat or urine play. He does enjoy most of the other kinks, but he can be vanilla at times. Just let him have some fun, and you’re sure to have fun as well.
Vegito has similar preferences, but he doesn’t mind the anal aspect if you were interested. He likes different things on different days, so you’ll need to talk to him to know what’s going on.
O = Oral (preference in giving or receiving, skill, etc.)
Gogeta would much rather give you oral than receive, but he still enjoys it very much. He can be a bit sloppy with his oral, but it’s so fucking good. You’re always so wet, and he loves lapping up your juices. For blow jobs, he may get a little rough, but he’s going to make sure he doesn’t hurt you.
Vegito loves blow jobs. Please get on your knees and pull his cock out of his pants and just slobber all over it and gag on it. He’s fucking weak for the way you deepthroat him and just choke on his cock. He’ll definitely reciprocate and make you cum tenfold!
P = Pace (are they fast and rough? slow and sensual? etc.)
Gogeta is a little more clumsy with his pacing, and it can be downright animalistic sometimes. He’s big on gripping your hips and slamming himself into you. If you need him to be slow, just explain it to him and he’ll do that for you.
Vegito is a tease most of the time, so his pace is actually quite slow and drawn out. He loves being a little rough sometimes, but he enjoys dragging his fat cock head against your walls to make you whimper.
Q = Quickie (their opinions on quickies, how often, etc.)
Gogeta actually loves quickie a whole lot. They don’t take up too much time, and you both get to cum as well. It’s nice, and he can just pump himself into you and fuck you at his fast pace, and you’ll both get off very quickly.
Vegito loves a drawn out process, but quickies can be nice as well. If he’s busy and he needs to train, you can trust that he’ll pick a quickie over hours of sex.
R = Risk (are they game to experiment? do they take risks? etc.)
Gogeta isn’t huge on risk taking, so he’ll go with his tried and true method when he can. If you want him to experiment with you a little more, just explain it to him and he might understand.
Vegito likes to tease you, so he’ll take some risks from time to time. He’ll finger you in public, or he’ll buy you some vibrating panties and make you cum inside a store.
S = Stamina (how many rounds can they go for? how long do they last?)
Both Gogeta and Vegito have incredible stamina, and the fact that it is both Vegeta and Goku fused, it actually makes their stamina almost doubled sometimes. They both can last forever, but they’ll take pity on you for being just a normal human and they’ll stop when you need a break.
T = Toys (do they own toys? do they use them? on a partner or themselves?)
Once again, Gogeta doesn’t really understand the point of having toys. If you buy some, he’ll learn how to use them but he doesn’t really care too much about it.
Vegito has lots of toys. He buys all kinds of things to make you cum in all different ways. He loves restraints and vibrators, but handcuffs and whips can be exciting just as much.
U = Unfair (how much they like to tease)
Gogeta tries to tease, but he’s weak to your pleading and he doesn’t want to make you wait for your orgasm for too long. He loves the way you look when you come undone.
Vegito is a fucking huge tease. He loves watching you writhe beneath him as he brings you to the edge and pulls away. He’s sweet about it though, as in he lets you cum so hard when he finally decides it’s time for you to cum.
V = Volume (how loud they are, what sounds they make, etc.)
Gogeta is very loud, and he grunts and groans and just lets you know he’s enjoying himself very much. He’s loud, and people will hear you if they are around.
Vegito is a little quieter, but if you blow him, he may get a little loud when you do. He moans when you blow him, but he mostly grunts when he’s fucking you.
W = Wild card (a random headcanon for the character)
Gogeta gets cocky when he fucks you, and this is Vegeta’s influence coming out. He’ll ask you stuff like “Who’s cock are you fucking?” and “Who owns this pussy?”
Vegito is very sweet sometimes, and this is Goku’s empathy coming through. If he thinks he’s hurt you for real, he’ll stop immediately and make sure you’re okay before continuing.
X = X-ray (let’s see what’s going on under those clothes)
Both of them have huge cocks! Around nine inches long, thick and curved only slightly. Besides that, they both look like they’ve been carved out of marble by the Gods themselves. They have perfect physiques.
Y = Yearning (how high is their sex drive?)
Gogeta gets a little needy sometimes. He’ll just hump you and you’ll get to fucking right away. He has a very high sex drive and needs to take care of it as soon as possible.
Vegito has a normal sex drive. He loves fucking, but he doesn’t necessarily have to do it all the time. Just let him know you’re in the mood, and he’ll probably fuck you.
Z = Zzz (how quickly they fall asleep afterwards)
Gogeta is out like a light almost immediately after taking care of you. He’s cuddling you in his arms and snoring away.
Vegito likes to stay awake for a bit and just relish in the feeling of you having you in his arms. He doesn’t always get these moments to himself.

So yeah, here we go again, a highly slightly revised version of Splits' Chapter 1
It's set in some kinda AU where you're a saiyan and there are other saiyans alive and on earth, as if more than just Gokus parents sent them off to earth as babies to start a better life not just to destroy it. Perhaps part of the resistance against Frieza?
I'm expecting this to top out at like 10 ish chapters, if anything probably less, i don't want it to stray to far from the plot or spend another 6 months on it lmao
Warnings include: violence, emotional abuse, very dark Vegeta, sexual themes, choking but not in a good way
Word count: ~1,600
-----------------------------------------------
Chapter 1
-----------------------------------------------
You’re sitting in the living room, bored, surfing the channels on the TV when you hear the front door click. Your face lights up at the sound that you know means your boyfriend is home, and you run to the hallway to greet him.
“Hey 'Geta,” you say with a smile as you plant a kiss on his cheek. You know he hates it when you’re cutesy like that, but you like riling him up. Little did you know, today was not the day for it.
“Get off of me, woman.” Vegeta shoved you away from him harshly and made his way to the bathroom after taking off his shoes at the door, he didn’t even look at you as he barged his way down the hall. There was definitely something wrong, even if he didn’t like kisses he never reacted like that. Something was up, and today you were feeling especially brave so you decided to follow him down the hall and grab his tail. Bad move. He swung around in an instant pinning you by your throat to the wall.
“Don’t. Touch me.” he said with a growl in his voice before throwing you to the ground and continuing down the hall.
“'Geta that hurt, what’s the deal with you today Mr. grumpy pants?” you said in a huff as you picked yourself up from the ground, patting down your jeans. “I thought we talked about this; no aggressive wall pinning unless I ask for it.” He didn't stop or turn around to look at you. “Oh, so you're just going to ignore me then, that's great, I guess I'll just go back to watching TV since you’re being a big grump.” you waited a second longer to see if you'd get a reaction, but no, he just kept walking and eventually made his way to the bathroom, locking himself inside as you walked back to the living room.
You wondered what could've happened today to make him so irritable. When he left this morning he wasn't mad, so something must've happened while he was out training with Goku. Maybe Goku reached a new form and Vegeta was jealous? No, that's happened before and all he did was rant about how it should be him who gets to unlock new forms, not that stupid, low class, pathetic excuse of a Saiyan, Kakarot. He was the prince of all Saiyans after all, and he should be the one with all the power. No, this was something else entirely, and you were starting to worry what could have made the mighty Vegeta so angry.
Against your better judgement, you decide to go knock on the bathroom door. “Vegeta! Open up! What's the matter?” you shout through the door, hoping he can hear you over the running water of the shower.
“Go away! Go make yourself useful and cook me something, woman” of course that's all he would say. Damn these Saiyans and their insatiable appetites.
“No, I’m not going anywhere until you tell me why you’re mad.” you plant your feet outside the door as you hear the water shut off. After a moment he unlocks and opens the door with a towel around his waist. He always looked so good right after a shower, silky hair wet, tangles framing his face, water droplets glistening across his gorgeously broad Saiyan chest. He truly was a sight to behold.
“Get out of my way” he said to you as he tried to emerge from the bathroom, you were blocking his way and he really didn't like that. “Move now, or I’ll move you myself.”
“And what if I don't, what’re you going to do to me?” you said with a smirk on your lips as you stared seductively into his eyes. Usually when he was mad you could make him forget about it for a while with sex. Today was different however, and instead of pinning you to the wall and devouring your mouth with his, he gave a blow straight to your stomach, instantly knocking the wind out of you and making you crumple to the floor. He stepped over you and headed to the bedroom to get dressed.
“Food woman. Now. Don’t give me more reason to be mad at you.” he called over his shoulder as he entered the bedroom. As you were curled up on the floor, clutching your stomach and gasping for air to finally reach your lungs, you couldn’t help the thought that maybe he didn’t love you anymore from crossing your mind. A thought that threatened to bring tears to your eyes. But you were stronger than that. You stood up shakily clutching your stomach for a moment before straightening up and walking after him into the bedroom.
“What the fuck 'Geta!? What's wrong with you? Why’d you punch me in the gut like that!?” you yell at him with an anger that made the air crackle with energy. “I thought you loved me 'Geta! How could you hurt me like that? What did I ever do to you?” You hated to admit it, but you're an angry crier, and the hot tears came spilling from your eyes as your hair flickered flecks of blond. Even though you had reached Super Saiyan form yourself, Vegeta was still 100x stronger than you on a good day, let alone when he was angry.
He ignored you completely, dropping his towel and putting on a fresh pair of briefs. He acted like you weren’t even there at all actually as he picked out some clothes to wear. Taking his time to sift through his messy chest of drawers to find his favourite shirt. Black and skin tight with Shenron and the DragonBalls printed on the back, it hugged his muscles in all the right places. It was your favourite on him too and for a split second you forgot your anger and stared at how the fabric clung to his still dewy skin. It all came flooding back when he turned to face you.
“Did you not hear me? I said food. Now.” he snarled through gritted teeth. He hated it when you didn't follow his commands, but right now he wasn't your master, and it was so not sexy of him to treat you like this.
“If you want food you'll have to make it yourself. I'm not cooking for you until you tell me what's wrong.” you say back to him, with the same amount of force, trying to make your voice sound as demanding as his to no avail. No matter how hard you try, you'll never get his aggressive tone of voice down pat, you just sound like a pissed off chew toy and it makes you even angrier.
“Whatever.” He grumbles just loud enough for you to hear as he continued to search for some pants.
“Whatever?! That's all you're going to say?” you yell as you stare at him in disbelief, one more dismissive or demanding word from him and you were going to snap. “What about an apology? For shoving me, then throwing me, then straight up punching me!? Are you even listening to me, Vegeta?” You pause for a long second to see if he’ll say anything, and when he pulls up his pants and heads for the door, that's it. You power up to Super Saiyan and block the doorway, glaring at Vegeta, daring him to step closer.
“Silly woman. You think that just because you're a Super Saiyan, you can stop me? How pathetic.” he said, his voice hollow and cold as he goes Super Saiyan Blue and picks you up with one hand by the throat and holds you off the ground. “You couldn't stop me with both my hands tied behind my back,” he sneered at you before throwing you into the wall outside the bedroom door, almost knocking you unconscious as your head hit the wall at full force, leaving the plaster cracked. Your energy faded and your hair returned to its regular dark colour as your vision blurred and your ears rang from the impact.
He walked over to stand above you, laughing menacingly. “You're weak and pathetic. The only reason I kept you around was so that you'd cook and clean for me. Oh, and so that I can fuck that tight little pussy of yours.” The edges of your vision started to go dark as he picked you up against the wall by your throat again. “You are nothing but a toy for me, a sorry excuse for a Saiyan. So low class I wouldn't let you shine my shoes with your spit. But you cook good and don’t complain whenever I want to fuck, so you’re not completely useless.” he squeezed your throat tighter, “I want you to know that I don’t want you anymore. I never loved you, not one bit. I was only using you for my own satisfaction. And now that I don’t want you, there's no reason for you to keep breathing.” as he said this, he was gradually squeezing your throat tighter in his grip. You didn't understand what was going on, Vegeta had never been what you'd call affectionate, but he was never so mean. The Vegeta you love would never say such harsh things to you, or hurt you in any way what so ever unless you were fucking and asked for it. In fact, he put several higher ranking Saiyan's in the med pods because they were antagonizing you for being the weakest Super Saiyan. The sudden change in him had tears pouring from your eyes as you tried harder to keep from passing out. “Now be a good little weakling and go to sleep for me.”
“'Geta… p-please… d-don’t… hurt… m-m…” You managed to spit out between desperate gasps as you faded from consciousness.

WHOA CPUKERFUFFLES POPPING OFF SO LETS TALK ABOUT IT
Quick post to both A) Sum up what CPUKerfuffle is for those who don’t know and B) Review last night’s Kerfuffle because things went crazy and we’re leading up to a climax
I’m putting it under a readmore since oops turns out I made this long as hell
CPUKerfuffle is a biweekly stream series where I make Level 9 CPU’s in Smash fight in tournaments. Kinda like that one guy on Youtube (who canonically does not exist in the universe of CPUK). I bring friends on as commentators and I give each player a name, along with a sort of character of their own that is in time defined by both improv acting and the actions in the tournament. Over time, characters become fan favorites and many return for future tournaments, and sometimes overarching narratives begin to form. And right now, we’re at the peak of one, so I’ll try to talk about The Plot of CPUKerfuffle as it stands right now.
So right now at the moment, the tournament has been subject to a hostile takeover by Red F!Wii Fit Trainer, also known as Doctor Order, a character submitted a few tournaments back when it was realized many characters have a backstory of being created by some experiment. Her goal seems to be to create the ultimate fighter, but it would appear she’s after something else. The Guardian of Time, Chartreuse (sister of what appeared to be the Guardian of Dimensions, Crimson which wreaked havoc on a previous tournament). Doctor Order has a tendency to create fighters meant to be clones of other fighters, such as Google the Green Roy acting as a clone of Bing the Green Chrom. Google would go on to attain sentience and despite being intrinsically built with an instinct to desire nothing but victory, learns humility and defects from Doctor Order. Other characters affected by Doctor Order’s many experiments are characters such as
Larry the Florida Man, who can shapeshift due to her influence (picking Random for every battle, but whose base form is a White-Coated Joker)
Perfect Spriteman, who used to simply be Spriteman (Green/Yellow Mega Man) who loved Sprite until Doctor Order corrupted that love into an inhuman obsession (Now manifesting as a Green/Yellow Piranha Plant)
Google Plus, a Green Marth made out of spite after Google defected who is nearly robotic in nature, using logical patterns to attain nothing but absolute victory (but still defected and is now kind of on a rampage)
Captain Quadratic, a Green Captain Falcon and a clone of Captain Valentine (Pink Cpt. Falcon), the champion of love and long-time face of CPU Kerfuffle. Corrupting his ideas of love, Doctor Order entered a doubles tournament with Captain Quadratic, revealing him to be a creation madly in love and deathly loyal to Doctor Order, seemingly physically unable to speak two sentences without drowning Doctor Order in compliments
So now that you know about Doctor Order and some of the characters in play, last night’s tournament consisted of eight fighters: Therapuppy (Teal Isabelle), Folk (Black Wolf), Google (aforementioned Green Roy), Geico Gecko (Green Ridley), Gamecube Controller (Purple Rosalina), Seachu (Aqua Pichu), Chartreuse (Teal Pyra/Mythra), and Sephiroth (Sephiroth)
This post is long enough as it is (I took too long talking about Doctor Order and the related characters lol) so here’s the relevant bits of the tournament:
Doctor Order promises anyone who can humiliate Google a free trip in a time machine
Therapuppy immediately humiliates Google but doesnt choose to ride
Seachu is the last remaining remnant of Team Aqua and is trying to recruit members. It’s unclear how effective this is
Chartreuse, being the guardian of time, is trying to call off the tournament since Doctor Order is having each battle feature Timer Items, which damage the fabric of time. It doesnt work, but she expends some of her power to at least not have any timer items during battles where she takes place
Folk also manages to humiliate Google, and upon requesting a time machine ride, Doctor Order says “sorry! One per person!”
It is then revealed that Folk is actually Therapuppy from a Bad Future where Doctor Order has taken over the world, who used Therapuppy’s one ride to return back to this time with a few Important Things To Help
Chartreuse is knocked out of the tournament and exposes her true power to prevent Timers from spawning to protect the fabric of time.
After some reconciliation with his past self, Folk enters Grand Finals against Sephiroth, who is working alongside Doctor Order.
Doctor Order kidnaps Chartreuse to attempt to steal the power of the time guardian. Folk tries to stop her, but is blocked by Sephiroth.
Folk, knowing what happens next, tells everyone to evacuate the arena as he faces down Sephiroth, eventually losing, leaving Sephiroth tournament winner.
I didnt even explain what the hell is going on with Spirits, but basically Google goes Super Saiyan and charges Doctor Order to try and save Chartreuse.
It doesnt work since she can also go Super Saiyan.
Chartreuse as a last line of defense, envelops the entire arena in a bubble of frozen time, giving everyone two weeks to prepare for one final charge
And that’s the current plot of CPUKerfuffle. Again, last night’s episode was absolutely insane. A few of the plot beats were predetermined, since while the improvised nature of these are fantastic, having a general thread helps immensely. But seeing everyone fall in love with some of these characters has been incredibly heartwarming and I’m so overjoyed with the response. I got some REALLY neat things planned for the kerfuffle in two weeks, and I imagine there’ll be even more things that don’t go as planned.
Until then, I guess CPUK characters have sorta become kinda my OCs. Weird how that happened.

Meditations on Playing as Earthlings in Dragon Ball Xenoverse, Part 2
(previously)
The Dragon Ball Xenoverse games allow you to play as five races: Earthling (the default selection), Saiyan, Majin, Namekian, and the elegantly named "Frieza Race", with the first three races having an additional choice of gender. Compared to the Dragon Ball games mentioned in the previous post, Xenoverse probably differentiates the most between race/gender combinations. Each has a drastically different basic moveset that will be extremely relevant in combat, especially for strike-oriented playstyles, each have different stat spreads (and sometimes mechanics) that incentivize different playstyles, and arguably most importantly, each have their own unique techniques, the centerpiece of which is the race-specific Awoken Skill.
For context, in the first Dragon Ball Xenoverse, there were two problems with transformation skills like Super Saiyan and Unlock Potential. First was that they counted as Super Attacks, so you would have to give up a skill slot to make use of them, and second was that the transformations available to your character consisted of Kaioken, Unlock Potential, and variants of Super Saiyan. So like past Dragon Ball games, you weren't especially rewarded for playing a non-Saiyan character, since it meant you had to run Unlock Potential (or run a gimmicky Kaioken build), while Saiyans could at least nominally choose between that, and multiple variants of Super Saiyan that suited their playstyle.
This was remedied in the second Xenoverse game with the addition of Awoken Skills, which were transformations that occupied a separate slot. More importantly, Xenoverse 2 also added race-specific Awoken Skills, which meant that there was actually a compelling reason to pick races besides Saiyans.
In theory, at least. In practice?
Frieza Race characters probably gained the most in the sequel. Their Awoken Skill, Turn Golden, is relatively straightforward, both from a gameplay standpoint and an aesthetic standpoint. Your ki blasts are stronger and you do the Golden Frieza thing. Much like the form in the series proper, it's a bit dull and uninspired as a body recolor, but it is identifiable as a powerful transformation.
Namekians gained the ability to Become Giant, hearkening back to King Piccolo in the original Dragon Ball (and I guess Lord Slug in the movies), which as I understand was a fun transformation to use before it got nerfed in subsequent patches. Currently, it's a neat gimmick that's fun to mess around with and can be effective in bursts, but the stamina drain means it can't see the extended use that just about every other Awoken Skill can.
Majin gained the wildly unpopular ability to undergo Purification, which translates into becoming a Kid Buu with a special moveset. A Kid Buu that, mind you, only changes its skin and eye color as appropriate; regardless of how you customized your character before the transformation, your Purified Majin is going to look basically the same as any other Purified Majin, which is kind of a problem in a game where a significant portion of the userbase's interest in the game is at least partially in coordinating outfits for their player characters.
Earthlings got to ride on a Flying Nimbus and use the Power Pole.
The race-specific Awoken Skill for Earthlings is riding around on a cloud that kinda already loses a lot of its luster when, by construction, all characters can fly, and wielding a weapon/tool that hasn't been relevant since the original Dragon Ball. It's a nostalgia play that basically no Earthling character is going to use extensively, since you can't use your own skills and are limited to a moveset that loses its visual and gameplay novelty in minutes, at most.
It should be mentioned that Saiyans, as of the time of this writing, have access to five variants of Super Saiyan.
(Caveat that I can't speak for the PvP side of these evaluations, and quite frankly, I couldn't be bothered since Xenoverse PvP seems thoroughly unappealing, but I digress.)
So yet again, even when concessions are explicitly made to make playing non-Saiyan races an appealing alternative from a gameplay standpoint, Saiyans are still the clear winners and Earthlings are still clear losers. Furthermore, there's at least an argument that the non-Earthling Awoken Skills at least invoke an image of power as understood in Dragon Ball. For all the shortcomings of the Namekian and Majin Awoken Skills, you can at least point to King Piccolo and Kid Buu as signifiers of strength. If anything, the image of Goku on the Nimbus with the Power Pole is reminiscent of a time when Dragon Ball was significantly less concerned with displays of power, which is kind of counterintuitive when it's invoked as a method of attaining greater power.
Put reductively, it's kind of a bummer, but then again, isn’t this dynamic, of Saiyans being given the lion's share of power and relevance while Earthlings get virtually none, the most Dragon Ball shit ever?
Hindsight has only made Videl's presence in the early parts of the Buu Saga all the more fascinating. For that run of episodes, all the way up to the World Martial Arts Tournament, the degree to which Videl is an active participant and outright combatant in the action is kind of surreal. It's not entirely without precedent, since Chi-Chi had her moments in the original Dragon Ball and the occasional moment in Z, but unlike Chi-Chi, it really does seem like Videl's perfectly content to be this active for as long as she's around. What's more, the show explicitly makes reference to her being wildly more powerful than her dad, who himself is established as of legitimate world champion caliber, and it even goes out of its way to have Gohan teach her to fly. While that scene is absolutely primarily meant to set up her true purpose in the series writ large, there's a pretty good correlation in Dragon Ball between "people who can fly" and "people who can at least fight a little".
Then, of course, Spopovich happens.
I'm not particularly interested in litigating post-crisis Videl here, since it's been discussed plenty, and yeah, I also think it's more than a little bit of a bummer. But knowing the trajectory of post-Z Dragon Ball, especially Super, it makes Videl's irrelevance on an action level kind of an inevitability? Like, yeah, maybe if she bounced back harder and played a larger role after the Spopovich fight, you maaaaaaaaaaaaaaybe could draw a line to her at least being comparable to the likes of Krillin, Tien, and Yamcha, but given the reality of modern Dragon Ball, would that be anything more than a pyrrhic victory?
So really, when you consider that the frankly ridiculous power scaling of Super is really just the logical extension of the scaling in Z that was already well underway by the Buu Saga, it naturally raises the question of why they bothered to even make Videl this much of an active force in the first place. From square one, she's arguably destined to be relegated to Gohan's love interest and future wife, so why go through the effort of showing the audience that she's stronger than every Earthling that's not a Z-Fighter? It does parallel Chi-Chi's strength in Dragon Ball to help further foreshadow her pairing with Gohan like Chi-Chi with Goku, but then why make her be that into fighting when Chi-Chi was always clearly content to be a housewife?
And like, Jesus Christ, all that only to be that definitive with that Spopovich fight?
I bring Videl up because my main created character in Xenoverse 2 is a female Earthling. Ever since I booted the game for the first time, there was no doubt in my mind that I was going to primarily play as a female Earthling, because with it came the knowledge that I was going to control a female Earthling doing and achieving some frankly wild shit, like going toe-to-toe with Final Form Mira, literal deities, Jiren, and Ultra Instinct Goku(?!?), sometimes back-to-back in certain Parallel Quests.
And of course I can, because that is the entire reason for the Xenoverse games' existence. The game has always been an unabashed power fantasy all about defeating some of the most powerful entities in Dragon Ball history with your own created character on your own terms.
And yet, as I do all of this with my female Earthling, the knowledge that in canon, the most powerful analogue to my character is Videl, a character who almost literally gets the relevance beaten out of her in a brutal and unforgettable manner, makes the experience feel almost rebellious. It feels like everything from the godawful Awoken Skill to the subpar race/gender stat distribution for a strike-oriented build to the very nature and history of Dragon Ball itself is working against my character becoming a ludicrously powerful force of nature, and yet I not only can, but literally must push through and go even further beyond.
I cannot emphasize enough that this sense of transgression has no basis at all when it comes to the game. Absolutely nothing about the Xenoverse games explicitly suggests that Earthlings, female or otherwise, are somehow destined to be strictly lesser than Saiyans or any other races. Again, the game is an unabashed power fantasy; it's going to let you achieve that power fantasy regardless of race or gender, because to do so otherwise is completely antithetical to the entire reason people play the game in the first place.
But looking at past Dragon Ball games, at least to me, makes clear that they really didn't have to include the option to play as an Earthling. They clearly feel no obligation to do so, since they've excluded it in previous games. They completely dodge the need to include a human-like race option with the existence of Saiyans, who aren't even differentiated by the presence of a tail. I genuinely don't think any significant number of people would have even batted an eye over the exclusion of Earthlings. ‘Cause, you know, it's Dragon Ball, why would you play as an Earthling?
But they did. They let you choose to play as an Earthling, a race that Dragon Ball has essentially been drilling into your head, for years, is a strictly less powerful and less interesting version of Saiyans with practically no upside. They gave you the option, and I took it, all because it effectively let me play out an extended Videl what-if by proxy and stretch credibility into complete, unrecognizable nonsense.
I recognize that this absolutely reflects more on me and my relationship with Dragon Ball as a whole than it does on Xenoverse, but when it’s the only Dragon Ball game that embraces customizable characters to the extent that it does, it’s necessarily going to be the only game that actually lets me grapple with that tension between the source and the spin-off, and reckon with how that can shape the audience’s experience and perception of the bigger picture.

10 Fandoms, 10 Characters
I wasn't tagged by anyone but I saw @timotey do this...and I kind of wanted to do it as well, so here I am.
Here we go, 10 fandoms and 10 characters that I love within those fandoms. These are in no particular order, I'm just listing them as they come to mind. I hate when people ask, "what's your favorite book, what's your favorite song, who's your favorite character". Like bitch please, I don't even know who I am most of the time and you're asking me these meta-physical kinds of questions? My favorites depend on my mood really. But anyway, I'm done rambling, in case you were wondering, that's the reason why I'm not ranking these characters.
1. Ryotarou Nogami from Kamen Rider Den-O
Played by the wonderful Sato Takeru. You all know me, I have this weird kind of fetish I guess when it comes to stories that incorporate multiple beings sharing one body. I can’t tell you why, but I just love these kinds of stories. And this show has it in spades. Plus, Ryotarou is such a cinnamon roll, he’s so wonderful, so strong, so upbeat despite life’s hurdles that are constantly thrown at him. He’s great and Sato Takeru is wonderful in this role.
2. Joxer The Mighty from Xena: Warrior Princess
We love and appreciate complete dorks with hearts of gold in this house. For me, Joxer was the heart of this show and his fate at the end ultimately left a wound that has never completely healed. To this day, I cannot re-watch season 6 of Xena. I refuse to go through that pain of losing this wonderful man again.
3. Jiang Yanli from The Untamed series
Don’t let her looks fool you. She may seem like this delicate fragile flower but housed within that delicate skin lies the strongest spirit I have ever known character wise. She is definitely one of those characters that is absolutely beautiful inside and out and it’s such a shame her son never got the chance to really know how wonderful and extraordinary his mother truly was.
4. Piper Halliwell from Charmed
She’s fierce and she gives everything she has for those she loves, and loves just as fiercely. What’s not to love about Piper Halliwell? Don’t answer that, it’s rhetorical. I’m not here for any Piper bashing.
5. Max Thunderman from The Thundermans
There is just so much dichotomy and nuance with his character and I just love him and his arc so much. Him being the son of heroes and desiring to be a villain but ultimately failing at it because he’s a genuinely good person and a genuine hero. It was so interesting and definitely the stand-out character for me in this show.
6. Peter Maximoff/Quicksilver from the FOX X-Men Movie Franchise
I love a dork with daddy issues, what can I say?
7. Gohan from Dragonball Z
And I’m not one of those fans who only likes him when he’s displaying power fantasies. No, I love that part of him but I also love the dork in him, I love the nerd in him, I love that he gets in a super hero costume and acts all dorky and uses his saiyan powers to fight crime. I love that as an adult, he’s still trying to figure out where he stands as a human and where he stands as a saiyan. He loves peace but also feels the need to fight as well and I just love watching him trying to essentially navigate between those two personas as well.
8. Shawn Spencer from Psych
I got to say this is probably the first and only character I’ve encountered where I thought to myself, if this man truly does exist somewhere in this world, I want to marry him, I want to be his Juliet. He’s kind of dumb but also so smart, kind of insensitive but so sensitive in moments where it counts, and he makes me laugh. I don’t know if this person will ever exist in real life within my periphery and ever be available to me, but this is the partner I’m looking for in my life; I’m accepting applications.
9. Eliot Spencer from Leverage
I’m a shallow girl and sometime I just love a good-looking texan man who can kick some ass. Plus, he also loves and protects children and old people.
10. Saizo Kirigakure from the Samurai Love Ballad otome game
Hey, it counts, ok? I’ve been playing this game for well over a year now, I’ve played at least once all of the characters and I gotta say Saizo is definitely my favorite. I love his stories, the themes he grapples with and in the confines of the otome game, for me, this is the man the MC truly ends up with, he is who I would pick. Yeah, he comes with baggage but your life is always going to be interesting with him. Plus, he makes me feel some sort of way whenever he calls the MC “little lady”.
And there you have it, 10 fandoms, 10 characters. This was fun and maybe you guys learned a little bit more about this blue phoenix.
I’ll tag a few people that I can think of off the top of my head but anyone who wants to do this, please do. It was a lot of fun! @verobatto @casa-neurotica @lawfulgeek @thefirsthogokage

Dragon Ball GT 43
✨GT Stands for Garish Travesty✨
✨”Good” “Ideas”, Poorly Executed✨
So the “idea” here was to have Goku fight Frieza and Cell in Hell. We already saw this in DBZ 195, and it didn’t even go down, because Pikkon swooped in and took out both of these guys and King Cold before Goku could get to them.
But still, this could be a good time. The plot here is that all the classic villains have returned to invade Earth, and Goku’s trapped in Hell with Frieza and Cell, so this seems like a decent set up for some great action. You’ve got plenty of star power, and even if Goku has these two outmatched, it’s a two-on-one deal, so maybe it can still work out.
Except for one thing. This is Dragon Ball GT, and for some reason they decided that this episode should look like absolute dogshit.
Frieza kind of looks all right... I guess? He looks pretty crappy, but he seems more or less recognizable.
But Cell looks like some shitty new character wearing a Cell costume. His eyes are too big, and he just looks wrong in every shot.
This is just a really unpleasant episode to watch. I knew this was coming, and I thought I was prepared for it, but man, it’s just ugly. There are some off-model characters in episodes of DB and DBZ, but somehow this one just sinks to a completely different level.
It’s something about the eyes, I think. I can’t quite put my finger on it, but everyone looks really wrong. And unfortunately, there’s a lot of close up shots of the characters, all looking like misshapen bootleg action figures.
This is so bad. I’m not even kidding a little. If the episode had a better plot or script, I could forgive the bad animation, but no. It sucks in every possible way.
This was my introduction to Dragon Ball GT, by the way. In 2004, I bought a strategy guide for one of the games, Budokai 2, and it came with a DVD of this episode. The idea was to promote GT, which would be airing on Cartoon Network later that year. I assume they picked Episode 43 because of all the star power. In addition to the main cast, you also have Cell, Frieza, Nappa, 17, and Dr. Gero. It’s like a damn reunion. Except the episode sucks ass. Everyone looks terrible, and even thought there’s a lot of fighting going on, all of it is pathetic.
All right, let’s dive in to this turkey.
In brief: Goku’s fight with Cell and Frieza sucks because none of them take the fight seriously. All I wanted was for Goku to blow the bad guys mind with some Super Saiyan 4 action, but instead he refuses to transform at all. He still does an overblown power-up any way, but he doesn’t transform. Goku still styles all over these two, and they can’t even touch him. When Frieza tries a ki disc, Goku rides it like a surfboard. Then he grabs a needle spike from the scenery and weilds it like his nyo’ibo. So he’s just recreating his classic look from the old days. That’s how seriously Goku is taking this. Cell fires a Kamehameha at Goku, and he just knocks it back at him with his stick. Cell gets blown up by his own attack, and the ki disc slices Frieza in half.
But that doesn’t matter, because Cell and Frieza are already dead, so they just come back and keep fighting. We don’t see them regenerate or anything, because the animators are lazy, as well as bad. Cell manages to sucker Goku in and... catches him with his tail?
Yeah, so he tries to absorb Goku and assimilate his power, the way he absorbed 17 and 18 to achieve his perfect form. But... that’s not how Cell works. For a moment, it seems like Cell has actually increased his power this way, but then Goku just forces himself back out of his tail, and escapes. This is stupid.
So Frieza and Cell use a new technique to turn the tables on Goku, the Hell Buster. This traps Goku in a ki structure, which they then launch down into the lower depths of hell. So they’re not really defeating Goku so much as relocating him to some place else where the environment will finish him off.
Then this old lady subjects Goku to four different torments on the “Hell Pilgrimage”: She cooks Goku in a giant stew pot, then subjects him to tickle torture, then a sauna, then she freezes him with a big machine.
Frieza promises that they’ll come down there to finish him off. So if they could do that Hell Buster move from the start, why did they even bother attacking him with anything else?
Meanwhile, the Earth is being besieged by all the other villains, like... uh... the Saibamen! Remember them? Well they’re back! Yeah, who else have we got?
More Saibamen! Wow, look at them go. This is pretty bad news for the Earth. It’s too bad Goku isn’t here to put a stop to this. But it’s not just Saibamen plaguing the world. No, there’s also...
... Saibamen. I don’t remember there being this many of them before. Did they have an orgy or something to make more?
Goten and Trunks just sort of watch all this with a mixture of disgust and fear. Uub literally flies over and asks them to step in and help. I have no idea why this is happening. The Saibamen aren’t even that tough. Uub just flies through the streets, taking them out with one hit apiece, but Goten and Trunks seem reluctant to pitch in.
Meanwhile, Pan and Mr. Satan are being chased by... General Rildo. Can we go back to the Saibamen, please? Gohan shows up to save them, and now we’ve got Rildo vs. Gohan, a dream match if there ever (yawn!) was one.
Okay, so this appearance by Rildo is the only confirmation we have that he died in Episode 23. This episode makes zero effort to reintroduce the character. He doesn’t even get any lines! Shouldn’t Rildo be using his final form in this thing? Is he helping the bad guys because of his loyalty to Dr. Mu? Or is he actually loyal to Baby? Shouldn’t he be asking where Baby is during all of this? I mean, either he wants to keep working for Baby, or he should want to kick Baby’s ass because Baby killed Dr. Mu.
Or, you would think he’d want to stay in Hell to fight Goku, since he’s supposed to be stronger than anyone else on the bad guy team, remember? Goku said his ki was “even greater than Buu’s”.
Oh, and Nappa’s also here. He blows up an entire city, which is the most any of these guys seem to have done since they invaded, but then Vegeta confronts him. Strange that Vegeta waited until after the city got destroyed before stepping in, but whatever. At least this promises to be an interesting scene. Nappa’s no match for Vegeta, but they know each other well, and you could get some drama out of this encounter if....
Yeah, Vegeta one-shots him. Never mind.
Then Gero and Mu show up and introduce Vegeta to their latest creation, “Hell Fighter 17.” He bursts out of the rubble and there’s flames and everything, and Vegeta doesn’t seem too impressed. Then they fight, and Vegeta doesn’t bother turning Super Saiyan. He can’t hit Hell Fighter 17, but since he won’t transform, it makes it seem like he’s not even trying.
As they fight, Hell Fighter 17 telepathically contacts his counterpart, the original 17, and asks him what’s taking him so long. Remember, the plan was for both 17′s to link up and fuse into a single, invincible warrior. Apparently Hell Fighter 17 is having some trouble with Vegeta, so he’s anxious to get that boost in power. Well why did they go picking a fight with Vegeta, then? They could have waited for both 17′s to combine, and then gone after him.
Instead, Original 17 tracks down his sister, Android 18, and invites her to join them. We’ve yet to establish how Gero and Mu are controlling the original 17, but presumably they’re using Hell Fighter 17 to do it, and now Original 17 is using the same trick to influence 18. Except Gero’s team never told him to do this, so I have to assume this wasn’t part of the plan.
Let me add some context here. Nobody has seen 17 in years. It was assumed that he got resurrected at the end of the Cell Games, but they never actually showed 17-- dead or alive-- until the very end of the Kid Buu fight, when he makes a cameo appearance to send energy to Goku’s Spirit Bomb. This episode is set sixteen years after that battle, and no one ever says anything about keeping in touch with the guy.
In fact, in the previous episode, it’s strongly implied that Trunks had never met 17 before the ambush. He sensed 17′s ki, noticed it was similar to 18′s, and figured it out that way. Which is bullshit, by the way. 17 and 18 don’t have ki signatures for Trunks to sense.
So when 17 confronts 18 (and Krillin and Marron), it’s the first time they’ve been on screen together since 17 got absorbed by Cell. That was 23 years ago. It’s never established whether they’ve been in contact during that time, or if this is their first meeting since 17 was wished back to life. This is a stupid way to reintroduce a character.
I think the idea with this arc was to focus on 17, because he was the one villain who never got killed or rehabilitated. We never found out what happened to him, and this arc would finally address his final fate. But it turned out to be a colossal shitshow, in part because 17 is mind-controlled the entire time, so we never find out what he wants, or what he’s been up to all these years. Instead, we just get two versions of him, and one of them hypnotizes 18 for no obvious reason, and the other one fights Vegeta in a weak, watered-down brawl. If anyone liked 17 enough to be excited about this arc, Episode 43 has made sure to punish them for their enthusiasm.
Meanwhile, Goten, Trunks, and Uub are still zapping Saibamen, literally repeating shots of them zapping Saibamen earlier in the episode. And Gohan is still fighting General Rildo, and not much is happening there.
And Goku’s frozen. Good times.
✨Positivity Page✨
Perhaps the one decent shot in this episode is this one where Vegeta watches Hell Fighter 17 surrounded by flames. He doesn’t look much like Vegeta, but at least he looks very handsome and cool. It’s like he bribed the animation director to make him look good for one shot.
✨Is this episode worse than “The Roaming Lake”?✨
Hell damn yes it’s worse than “The Roaming Lake”. That episode was really pleasant to look at. Not like this garbage dump.
The only real question is whether Episode 43 is the worst episode of GT. That’s a tough call, because it has to compete with the Para Bros. and Doltaki. But Episode 43 definitely has a safe spot in the Bottom Five.
✨The Blade Braxton Memorial Haiku*✨
Hells Pilgrimage stop
Number 5: Hell of watching
GT 43.

I kept thinking why this situation in SK8 gives me a strong deja vu feeling. And only yesterday it hit me. Prince of Stride!
Only there was a Riku, not Reki (lolz).
And he had an immensly talented brother (Tomoe), who he couldn’t catch up with no matter how hard he tried, so everyone in a stride world kept calling him “that Tomoe’s brother” instead of remembering his name.
He then met Takeru who was also as talented as his brother and he enjoyed running with him, but couldn’t beat him either no matter how hard he trained, so he was afraid that he’s gonna be abondoned again, like it was with his brother. Then he and Takeru had the same scene when he yelled at him that he’s not like him and Adam Tomoe and no matter how fast he runs he can’t outrun them.
He kept training tho, but still couldn’t catch up and stopped when he couldn’t reach Takeru again, but Takeru stopped too and came back for him saying that he wants to run with him. That healed Riku’s abandonment issues and errased the block he had, so he could actually outrun both Takeru and his brother at the end.
It also has a seniors trio who were like the perfect team in the past and had fun running together, but then split, green and pink one reconcilled, but the most dramatic one stayed dramatic, even tho pink one kept in touch with him, wanting to see him having fun while running again.
But in this case if Reki for some reason magically unlocks a super saiyan powers after Langa will tell him that he wants to skate with him, too, it would be weird to me.
And tho I understand why ppl try to compare, I object to this being paralleled to Rin’s first coming back from Australia when he was 12 scene. Rin was inspired by Haru’s talent and he wanted to become like him and become his best rival, so he decided to dive into the hardest challenge possible and moved to Australia to learn from the ones, who were the best swimmers in the world. Which of course didn’t turn out great, cause it’s like if you just got into cooking, and started by challenging some 5 michelen star shef lmao, but its Rin, so haha he probably can do anything if he set his mind on it. He did pick Haru as his perfect rival after all. As in Haru who is naturally the best. After that he hit a wall and this scene happened, but his mind at that time was on the fact that he couldn’t make his dead father proud and make his dad’s dream come true, cause that’s what he promised to himself on his grave. He wasn’t upset about the fact that Haru was better than him, he said this to Rei later.
He kept challenging him when he grew up thinking that beating him will somehow satisfy him, but then he did and wasn’t happy at all and his heart completely broke, cause he realized that what he wanted is just to be with Haru and swim with him and not only on the paralleled lanes, on one is ok too xD. He then realised that his dad’s dream wasn’t the same as his.
So how does this apply to the Reki-Langa situation I do not get. I hardly see Reki doing something extraordinary to reach Langa’s level to skate with him somehow, even if Langa ran over there and went full on Haru and yelled how he’s the only reason for his swimming skating, how will this help him skating better? It’s just not plausable in this situation, since a) Reki doesn’t keep trying nor tries to come up with something different or tricky; b) him unlocking super-skating powers in these last 3 episodes would be too funny with his last episode attitude. And like Riku’s abandonment issues were understandable. Reki on the other hand was always surrounded by the same talented crowd and was never bothered, but now he suddenly wants to be up there, but doesn’t want to do anything to be up there. Like okay, as usual for an anime like this, Langa will tell him that he wants to skate with him, too and it’s all because of him, but like what will it lead to? To him suddenly magically tranforming bc of the power of friendship? I’m so confused about the writing here. Like ppl keep comparing and I’m like, if it ends like this in this case it’s gonna be like 1+1=3 situation. Like for wanting to compete with these bunch, you gotta have another state of mind, I think.
In this anime you can literally go into the race like while throwing knives at your opponent at the same time, so like idk why miss out on smth like that, esp if you don’t like Adam. You can literally ‘Home Alone” through the whole thing, even if you’re some basic skater, he just doesn’t want to even try.
Anyways, besides all the sports anime tropes, I kept thinking that it’s still stangely too similar to smth, but not Free! and then it hit me. It just has been a long time since I saw Stride, but yeah, that’s what it was. So it might end like this, too who knows. But if he outskates everyone, Idk it will be too funny to me. I’d be ok with this only if I saw him secretly trying to come up with smth unexpected all this time, but it doesn’t look like he’s doing anything like that.
#sk8#sk8 the infinity#sports anime#prince of stride#anime#Free!#utsumi's scenes are everywhere true but like it has nothing to do with the rinharu situation#at least to me#the vibes are way off the trail#and the reasonings behind smth he does are also too off#like 12 years old makes more sense and stronger mental state than 17 years old?#his dad just died too#it's wasn't about the 'pls someone tell me how good I am'#reki kyan#rinharu#harurin#free!

Talented Ass Writers: Tumblr (1)
Talented Ass Writers.
As the fan-fiction connoisseur that I am, I see it only fitting that my first official post be a shout out to all the great writers that I’ve discovered, befriended, and thoroughly enjoyed since my arrival on the holy ground that is tumblr.
Now. I’m 22 years old, and I’ve read a lot of fan-fiction in my days, guys, so I’d like to think I know good quality material when I read it. I’ve even dabbled in the writing aspect of it, but we aren’t going to talk about that. I’m more of a reader than a writer, at least when creative writing is concerned. I have ideas, but I can never think them through to where I want them to end up, so alas, I read others works and immerse myself in worlds inside worlds.
For the past year or so, I’ve been heavy into the BNHA fandom, hence the name on my blog. My favorite character is Bakugou Katsuki. As if that wasn’t obvious, but I’m a fan-girl at heart, so I read on multiple platforms including: wattpad, quotev, ffnet, AO3, obscure websites that exist, and of course tumblr, and in this post and the parts that will come later, I will mention lots of authors from different platforms that I think people should know about, in my humble opinion.
I mainly read reader inserts or fics with OC’s, but I’m not going to say that there won’t be some character x character action because in the past, I’ve read plenty of those for several fandoms.
Without Further Ado, Welcome to My “Talented Ass Writers” List, or at least the first part of a yet to be determined number.
* denotes that the fic is NSFW
(Part 1) Tumblr:
@kingexpl0sionmurder - I had to start this list off with my main girl. Steff is not only a talented ass writer, but she’s also a great person and one of my close friends! She currently only has stories for BNHA characters including: Shinsou, Kaminari, Sero, and Todoroki. She writes NSFW and SFW, but she is a 18+ blog.
One of My Favorites: Missed Connection *
@pleasantanathema - This blog is strictly 18+ NSFW content, so this one is for all my deviants, like myself. She writes smut beautifully, and her writing is just amazing. I once requested her to write Jealous!Bakugou, and she delivered. She writes for Haikyuu and BNHA, so pick your poison, and I just want to add that she may or may not be one of the reasons that I thirst, occasionally, over Endeavor.
One of My Favorites: Encounter Series *
@ttetsuro - skyyyyyy! She’s so good!! You may have read her iconic hoof piece on her previous blog! She’s posted a couple of stories on this new blog, and she’s really great at writing! She’s also a genuine ass person, and one of the sweetest people I’ve ever met.
One of My Favorites: Backseat*
@bratwritings - Nat is super talented. Her blog is 18+. She has great creativity, and she is very descriptive in her writing. She writes for BNHA, and the characters she’s wrote for, I think she’s captured them very well!
One of My Favorites: Keeping it Professional*
@bakublossom - I recently discovered her blog! She does regular writings, but I discovered her with her SMAU! Her SMAU & fics are so good!
One of My Favorites: Apartment 204
@lady-bakuhoe - this list is far from complete, but I wanted to go ahead & put Jo on here. If you like to read Fanfiction, I’m sure you’ve stumbled upon one of Jo’s fics. SHE HAS SO MANY GOOOD ONES. I love her writing so much. She has a way with words, and I read a lot, honestly one of the best. She’s not currently writing, but I would definitely recommend checking out her stuff here or on AO3. 18+ only though.
One of My Favorites: I cant pick one. Literally read any of them.
@ikinabi - Red!! The Kiri Stan who made me also kinda thirst for Kirishima! She writes beautifully. I adore her as a writer & as a person! You won’t regret checking her out, especially if you live for kiri & his unbreakable form! 18+.
One of My Favorites: Power*
@gallickingun - Morgan not only writes for my angry boy baku, but she’s also writes (wrote?) for my asshole prince of all Saiyans that I love so dearly, and she’s good at it. That’s why she’s on the list, obviously. She writes smut, spice, fluff, ANGST (I’m still mad about that ending MORGAN 😂) & she does it beautifully. She’s also a really chill person, and you won’t regret checking her out. 18+
One of My Favorites: please, I beg of you.*
@league-of-thots - Jay’s blog is 18+, and she writes for several characters, including Hawks and Natsuo. She’s really good at smut, which I believe is slowly becoming a prerequisite for this list, and her writing, the not smutty parts, is also superb. She also throws in some kinks, and We all secretly like the kinky stuff, you can admit it to me.
One of My Favorites: How Much I Love You*
@rivendell101 - I feel like I keep saying things like “she’s so good,” but they wouldn’t be on this list if they weren’t good. I’m not normally into threesomes, okay, but after reading the way she wrote her todoxreaderxbaku ... I had a change of heart. Her fic is really well done, and I can’t wait to read more of her stuff! 18+.
One of My Favorites: Some like it Hot*
@ichor-and-symbiosis - Don’t get me wrong. I love my heroes, but this is one of my fave villain blogs, specifically Shigaraki. She totally writes for other characters including Heroes and other Villains, but she captures Tomura so well, and she has so many fics! If you want some five finger death punch, AKA Shigaraki, in your life, I would definitely check this blog out! 18+.
One of My Favorites: Mine*
@bnhabadass - Nora’s tumblr name fits her so well because she’s definitely a badass! She writes for a lot of BNHA characters, and her writing is really good! I’ve read some of her work, and I plan on reading more because I haven’t been disappointed yet! 18+.
One of My Favorites: Behind Tent Walls*
@burnedbyshoto - Lyssa! The Todoroki stan of Todoroki stans. She captures Shouto so well in her writing, and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed all of the fics that I’ve read by her. If you love a certain icy hot bastard, I think you’ll like her blog! 18+.
One of My Favorites: House-sitting and Concupiscence*
@cutesuki--bakugou - Sarah is so talented. She writes, obviosuly, but she also DRAWS, and in this house, we stan multi-talented queens. She drew me MMA bakugou, and I will forever be indebted to her, but that’s not why she’s on this list. She’s on here because she’s super great at writing, especially for Baku. She also has great xOC content, but she does xReader as well! 18+.
One of My Favorites: Frigid*
@todourouki - Despite the name, this blog writes for BNHA and Haikyuu! I am partial to the BNHA fandom because it has my angry boy in it, but I do like the Haikyuu fandom, and I feel like it’s growing very rapidly recently. I love this blog’s writing style, and the smut is great! 18+.
One of My Favorites: Studying, but make it Nude*
@ladyexplosionmurder - I’m sorry, but if you write good bakugou stories, you’ll probably end up on this list, or one of my future lists, and this blog writes good bakugou! They don’t have many stories yet, but I’ve really enjoyed what I’ve read so far. This is definitely a blog to watch!
One of My Favorites: Riled Up
@tomurasprincess - Mari writes more darker stuff, but she does it WELL. If you’re into Yandere and things that come with that, I highly suggest checking out her blog! You won’t regret it. 18+.
One of My Favorites: Explosive Consequences*
@hisoknen - Raph also dabbles in the dark arts of the BNHA Fandom, but she also does it beautifully. I highly recommend her as well. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed all of the fics that I’ve read that were written by her. I suggest checking this blog out. 18+.
One of My Favorites: Looking for Trouble*
@mrs-takami-keigo - Ari is a great person whom I connect on with love for an angry explosion boy and makeup and other things, and she’s also.... a great writer! I enjoy reading her fics, and I think others will as well. You should def check her out. 18+
One of My Favorites: Mesmerize*
Part 2 of the list is here

re: Still unnamed Colony AU
Decided to throw everyone into a Minecraft world just to make it easier to map. This style of world may be heavily-familiar to a couple of the characters, depending on my final picks.
I don’t plan to have it heavily gameified. Things won’t actually be square. Food saturation doesn’t heal you. There’s not an “inventory”. There might be respawning? Haven’t decided yet.
I’ve already picked out a large biomes world and an area in it to drop people.
Now I just have to finalize my character list...
I’ve made two short lists so far. One from my Wynnverse timeslines and one from my older OCs and original projects. There are some canon characters from various media (anime) already in those, as Wolfwood and Roy are both heavily tied into a lot of Wynn’s timelines. But I haven’t yet made the “characters from various media canons and fanfic of those media that I like” yet.
To go briefly over my potential picks from my older OCs and original works...
Forest’s Shadow: A sapient non-human I usually list as a “youkai” when I’m writing character lists. Not because she precisely is one, but because it’s a better term for what she is than others available to me. She’s a horse-sized vaguely canid creature who was going to be one of the main characters in a book I never wrote, where her and a young boy from a Native-American inspired tribe(1) who lost his tribe for plot reasons together gather a following and start a new family that expands into a tribe. Oh gee look there’s those same interests that are leading me to write this very fic right now. (1) This would be set on an alternate earth so no actual real tribes that exist or used to exist on our world would be present. Also it would be set in a time period comparable to thousands of years ago on our world so...
“Roach” (Michael Bradley): Well-off pothead with the coloring of a super-saiyan. His plotline was about him no longer being able to afford his house payments on his own so he gets a roommate who ended up being my self-insert. Basically a dumb self-insert sitcom character. One of my very rare straight male characters. Kind of bland to describe? But I’m fond of him. Nicknamed Roach because of the “pothead” thing. I always think of him as Roach and have to remind myself that his actual name is Michael. His story actually has a title: “Fish and Houseguests”. After the saying “Fish and Houseguests stink after 3 days”, referring to people overstaying their welcome. Thus indicating my long pattern of many of my own characters being supremely unimpressed with me.
Three characters from the same story now: Nathanial Sebastian Creighton (prefers Sebastian, thanks). Keneth Weaver Darlene Gothe A trio of college students from a comic I never drew a ton of titled “Something About Slugs” (an intentional non-sequitur). Sebastian is a rich gay guy whose homophobic parents sent him to college in another country so he could go and be weird and gay and artsy over there where he won’t be publicly visible and embarrass the family. Basically, he gets an allowance to keep his head down and pretend he’s not related to them. Very angtsy. Tall and thin and has super strength. Is a pacifist precisely because of the super strength -- he’s terrified he’ll seriously hurt someone by mistake. Suuuuper pretentious artist. Avoids speaking with contractions and gets poetic when drunk. Favorite forms of art are theatre and painting. He likes to dress in a black trenchcoat with a black sweater under it, even when it’s hot. Always wears long sleeves to hide his self-harm scars from when he was younger. I don’t have enough words for how much I enjoy tormenting this boy and making him chew on his own complicated emotions. :p I have a whole comic where I just drew him talking to a crucified Jesus statue about how he felt about the concept of God and his opinion on “love the sin, hate the sinner”. He is. So fun for me. Keneth Weaver is one of the middle children of a large family with many siblings. Very good at deescalating between his two best friends who... do not get along with each other. :p Always dresses in a puffy winter jacket with a warm knit hat (which he tucks his long blond hair up into) because he frequently gets cold chills. Is an absolute sweetheart and is the one of the trio most likely to go feral and punch a mofo for messing with his friends. Has not yet realized that he’s bi and falling for his best friend Sebastian. Everyone thinks he’s going to get into some nurturing care field of study but ends up getting into law from an idealistic desire to defend the disenfranchised. Darlene Gothe is... aptly named. She’s got a “slutty witch” aesthetic, liking to wear black dresses with ratty bottom hems and her cleavage out and swirly black eye makeup. Self-describes as “playfully bitchy”. Sebastian thinks she hates him because she’s constantly insulting and teasing him because she thinks it’s fun to play with him because of his dry sarcastic whit. So she’s just having fun and he thinks she’s being intentionally mean. Keneth sometimes gets so exhausted dealing with these two, but he does love them both. While Sebastian struggles with his complicated feelings for his disapproving parents, her parents are very supportive of her, but she just doesn’t emotionally connect with them and struggles to understand why family is so important to Sebastian and Keneth. Part of her trouble with sincere emotional connection is from school trauma. She was bullied through grade and highschool and coped with it by becoming sarcastically disconnected and prickly (hence “playfully bitchy”). I’m never going to end up writing the comic for these three but I love them so much.
Um. I’mma cut this off here and reblog my own post with the next batch of characters because I’m not even halfway through.
