“WINNER” pops up and y/n jumps around her best friend, Niko, showing him an L. “Ye ye, ur just lucky” he says. Niko has been her friend since childhood, he introduced her to the beta squad, and that's when y/n and Sharky just clicked, and have been dating for 3 years. “3 times in a row is not luck but sure Niko” you reply. “If you're so sure you can beat me, why don't we raise the stakes” you propose while smirking. “How do you suggest we do that?” Niko says interested. “Whoever wins the next game, gets to dare the loser to do whatever they want and you can't say no” “Okay deal” And it starts. Mario Kart was your game, so you were not worried, but somehow Niko kept getting a bullet, and…. HE WON?!? HOW?? You sit there shocked as to what has happened while Niko now mocks you the same way you did before. “I TOLD YOU ITS LUCK” He shouts still showing you an L. You shake your head and sigh “What do you want me to do you bitch?” “No need to be salty y/n, but I do have a dare for you,” He says as he grins, worrying you. “I want you to prank Sharky by ‘breaking up’ with him” “WHAT?? You were gonna see Sharky right after hanging out with Niko. While you did have your own apartment, you liked staying over with him most days. You rang the bell, ready to do this dumb prank and get it over with. Thoughts raced through your head, the biggest worry being ‘What if he doesn't care and is okay with it’. You shake your head, focusing on the task at hand. Sharky opens the door, smiling as he sees you “Y/n, I missed youuu” he says as he hugs you. You smile but remember what you need to do. You put your hand on his chest, pushing him slightly. “Let's sit down, we need to talk”, Sharky looks at you confused “Is everything okay y/n?” You ignore him and walk and sit on the couch, this is gonna be harder than you thought. 

Sharky sits opposite you, still confused, waiting for you to explain what's happening. “I think we should break up,” you say, trying so hard not to break character. “What.” He said shocked. “Why, what happened, did I do something?” “No no, I just think it'll be better for us, you know help us focus on our own stuff cause we already don't have enough time” you reply, making some reason up “Y/n, if this is about filming, I'll stop to spend time with you, please don't do this” His voice cracking up, as his eyes are tearing up. You want to just hug him, and tell him this is so dumb, but you decide that you need to do a bit more. “It's not you sharks, it's me. Yk with all the girls liking you, I just can't handle it” This wasn't true at all. Yeah, he did get a lot of female attention, but at the end of the day, he was your boyfriend so you didn't care. “Y/n, I will delete all my socials, everything, block every girl trying anything, just please don't leave '' He's sobbing, you couldn't take it anymore. 

You get up, and hug him “I'm not breaking you with you, I love you sharks” “What?” “I'm not breaking up with you, it's just some dumb dare Niko gave me cause of a bet,” You say, stroking Sharky’s hair, calming him down. “Omg you gave me a heart attack, I was so scared” you giggled at this, shaking your head. “I'm not leaving don't worry, I love you” You kiss his head while cuddling him. “I love you too y/n, but dont pull dumb shit like this on me again” “I won't, I won't” you reply “Also Niko is getting a beating the next time we meet” “Let me help you” Both of you giggle before cuddling on the couch and falling asleep.

You are a producer for Beta Squad. Coincidentally, you were also dating one of the members, Niko. Today they're filming a video where they were opening fake Mcdonalds and Burgerking.

You are woken by someone bursting through Niko's door. "Time to get up!" AJ yells, before slamming the door back shut. You whine and cover Niko's ears, who is lying on your chest. You open and rub your puffy eyes, looking down at Niko."Baby, It's time to wake up." You whisper rubbing his cheek lovingly. "I heard." He chuckles, tightening his arms around your waist. You check your phone and see it's 10:04 am. You struggle your way out of Nikos grip. "Niko, do you like this shirt," you start holding up one of Niko's green and white striped jerseys. "Or this one with these jeans?" You hold up one of your tops, pointing at the blue jeans you had on. "Definitely the first one," he smirks. You giggle at his 'McDonald'sworker' outfit. "What are you laughing at?" He death stares you. "Oh, nothing." You giggle. 

Once the guys all pile into the car you're on your way. Today, you are doing the job of filming. You were mostly following Sharky, AJ, and Chunkz's team. You follow them around the street once they get to work your phone starts ringing. You hand the camera over to George, who is also working alongside you. You sit at a table in the crowded restaurant. You grab your phone out of your pocket. You see that it's Kenny calling you. You click the green answer button. "Hello?" He starts, he sounds panicked. "Hi," you speak before the words come rushing out of his mouth. "We can't find Niko. He was here and now he's gone somewhere, we called him like 30 times and he hasn't answered." He rambles. Panic courses through your body as you hear the words. "What?" your voice cracks until the phone call is full of people screaming in the crowd and the call ends.

What if something happened? What if he’s hurt? A thousand worst-case scenarios flash through your mind, each more terrifying than the last.

The chatter around you becomes a muffled roar, distant and overwhelming. You grip the edge of the table, your knuckles turning white as you focus on your breathing, but the air feels thick and uncooperative.

Your heart pounds in your chest, a frantic drumbeat that drowns out all rational thought. You stand up abruptly, your chair scraping against the floor, and suddenly the room feels too small, too suffocating.

You push through the crowd, each faces a blur as you search for Niko’s familiar smile. You feel the heat rising in your cheeks, a mix of embarrassment and fear. What if he’s gone for good? Your breath quickens, and you press your hands to your temples, trying to ground yourself, but the anxiety spirals and the world around you starts to tilt.

AJ rushes towards you softly pushing you out of the crowd back into your chair. "Y/N! What's wrong?" He asks frantically. "Cant- cant find nik-ko." Your breathing gets heavier as you speak the words. "Who can't find Niko?" He asks"Ke-enny. He's-he's lost." You sob your breath constantly getting caught in your throat. "Hey, it's okay. They will find him." He says grabbing your hands. 

And then, just as your heart feels like it might break, you hear your name, a familiar voice cutting through the chaos. You turn, and there he is. Niko, looking a bit disheveled but safe, rushes towards you. Pulling you into a warm embrace. "Hey, what's going on?" He asks worridly seeing you struggling to breathe. Before anyone can answer he picks you up by your thighs and takes you outside to the back of the restaurant. He plops down on the ground, leaving you on his lap. he cups your cheeks, wiping your teary cheeks. "Follow my breathing okay?" He places your hands on his chest so you can feel his breathing. "Cant." you sob. "Yes you can, everything is okay." he soothes pulling your head into his chest. As you hear the rhythm of his heartbeat it helps calm your breathing. Niko continues whispering sweet things to you. "What happened darling?" He murmurs kissing the top of your head. "Kenny called me and said he couldn't find you. I got worried." You mutter your cheeks burning with embarrassment. "I'm sorry. I've just been feeling anxious all day." You mumble embarrassed that you just had a panic attack over that. He grabs your jaw to look into your eyes. "Don't apologize, I'msorry I worried you, I was just in the crowd." he frowns. "Are you okay? Do you wanna go back home?" He furrows his eyebrows. You wipe underneath your eyes. "No, I'm fine. I'm just tired." You whisper. leaning your head on him. He wraps his arms tightly around you. "I missed you lots," he whispers. "I missed you too, clearly." I express. "I love you, I'm sorry I made you worry. I have to go back now, I'll see you when we're done?" He looks into your eyes. "Of course, I love you more" You smile. "Your place or mine?" He asks "Yours." You confirm smiling wide. You stand up and hold a hand out for Niko. He gets up and places a soft kiss on your lips. You kiss back reaching your hands around his neck as you stand on your tippy toes. "See you soon," He says opening the door for you "Don't get lost." you smile. 

After filming you meet Niko outside. he wraps one arm around your shoulders. You guys pile into the car, you and Niko in the back. He kisses your lips gently trailing them down your neck. "Niko," you whisper. he pulls away grabbing your hand and placing your linked hands on your thigh. 

When you arrive back at Niko and AJ's house you change into shorts, still leaving on Niko's shirt. Niko goes into the shower with a parting kiss. You lay in bed already close to sleep. You hear the door open as a wet-haired Niko falls in bed next to you. You place your head on his chest as he pulls you into a tight hold. "I love you." he places lots of kisses all over your face. "I love you too," you smile kissing his lips.

Warnings: fluff, cutie animals (or dangerous), nun. Based on this request. Also I changed it up a bit, because beta squad doesn’t really have any dangerous animals in videos, they’re just scared of everything.

Summary: in which, beta squad were 50 hours in Africa and you went along with them, going to safari and helping them learn about animals.

A/n: Sorry for my beta girlie who had to wait so long for this. I had written little bit of smut at the end, but then I felt it wasn’t needed in this story so I deleted it.

The beta squad were going to Africa for 3 days or 50 hours. They are gonna do some challenges or just things kids do there as in school or play football and they are gonna go to safari aswell, they suggested you to come with them so of course you agreed.

When we landed in Kenya, we were greeted by some great people and they also had pretty flower bouquet for each one of us.

A taller guy than you gave you the bouquet, “oh thank you so much.” You smiled at him, and he went to give someone else the other bouquet he had.

When we were finally leaving the airport with the people who greeted us here, you all got into a car sitting down between Kenny and Aj.

“Here,” Kenny from beside you said, “you can have these.” Giving you his bouquet of flowers. You thought it was so cute.

“Aww, thank you so much.” You thanked him and leaned into him.

“Yeah, guys can you stop being so corny infront of us and the camera?” Aj called you both out. You saw the camera towards you both and shook your head.

“Shut up, Aj.” You said.

First you all arrived at your first location, where you would just eat, the people also welcomed you very nicely, they had the Uk and Kenya’s flag.

It was so cute, they singed a song for us while we just vibed, honestly overall it was so nice dancing with them. Also they cheered for everything, more welcoming than the Uk.

“Kenny won his last fight.” Sharky said, and everyone started cheering, yelling ‘yeahhh’

“Guys, guys,” Niko interrupted “I’ve got two socks on.” Everyone started cheering again and yelling ‘yeah’ you laughed at it.

“You guys,” Aj said “Niko’s breath stinks.” Everyone started cheering again, even Niko.

Niko wanted to revenge, “Aj’s three foot tall.” Everyone cheered once again. And Aj just got inside laughing.

After eating the amazing food, we had to go to our second location, which was Ematsayi primary school, where again amazing kids we had to teach today, were waiting for us.

The beta squad teached them the “say good, good, good” song, we obviously all love.

“Aj as a teacher,” Chunkz began “is mental.”

“I’m the best teacher.” Aj stated. “And the best student.”

“You might aswell start.” Niko pointed at Aj, “This is your teacher ‘mr. Triangle’ everyone say hello mr. Triangle” Niko introduced Aj to the kids.

All the kids repeated Niko “Hello mr. Triangle” all the guys and you started laughing while Aj thanked them.

“What’s his name?” Niko asked, now he was doing it on purpose, but it still was funny.

“Mr. Triangle.” All the kids said.

It was now the last day in Africa, the third day and we were in Nairobi where the guys were going to a safari for the last challenge. The people greeted us with flowers again.

For the last challenge the guys had to do an animal bingo, basically each of them had to pick three animals they think will be in the safari and whoever saw the three animals first, wins.

First animal we saw was chimpanzee, which was picked by Sharky so he had two more to go. “Come on, tell us something about chimpanzees y/n.” Sharky asked you.

“I dunno, chimpanzees have the ability to learn human’s language, such as sign language.” You told them, not sure what to say, but they expected something from you, as you work with animals. “But chimpanzees are only found in Africa so I don’t know much.”

“That’s actually really interesting.”

“That’s why I picked chimpanzees.” Sharky says, probably referring to the fact that they’re only in Africa.

We saw other animals small animals no one picked, we saw a tortoise and he almost, just almost made it to grass, Niko even said it was just as slow as Chunkz on football pitch.

“Y/n, what’s the difference between tortoise and turtle?” Kenny asked, honestly there was not much of a difference.

“Hmm.. there’s not much, except turtles usually spend their time in water while tortoises spend their time on land.” You said, “Also tortoises have more rounded and domed shells where turtles have thinner, more water dynamic shells.”

“Great. So it looks like we’re gonna know more information about animals today,” Aj talked to the camera, “as we have Y/n and she works with animals, so she knows more than us.”

You smiled at Aj talking. Next we saw elephant signs, but unfortunately there was no elephants as the driver or the owner told us, so there was no point for Niko.

Aj saw a Hippo in water, which he was surprised to and happy, he even applauded and gave you few high fives.

You wanted to tell them something about hippos so you spoke, “Guys did you know that Hippos thrive underwater? They can hold their breath for an average of five minutes.”

“And that’s just average?” Niko asked, to what you nodded.

“Mhm. That’s long enough to take walks along lakebed and riverbed floors.” You added.

“No wonder their nickname is ‘river horse’!” Chunkz joked. Also Aj was in the lead right now, so he only needs to see a tiger and he has won.

We next saw ostrich, which was on Sharkys list, now Kenny on the other hand was definitely not winning this challenge, because he has not seen a single animal he named, he named most animals you can’t see here.

The driver said that giraffes are coming up, so Chunkz of course got happy because giraffe is on his list, “ohh,” he yelled-sang, “he said giraffes, I see the giraffes.” Chunkz said looking at everyone, honestly it was cute how excited he was.

“I see giraffes with long necks.” Chunkz continued to sing.

“Look.” You pointed ��it’s Niko’s siblings.”

“And that’s the fact for giraffes?” Niko laughed, and you nodded “yeah, horror.”

“Are we going to see a seal today?” Kenny asked the driver.

“If we go to South Africa.” The driver told him, Kenny laughing at his answer.

“Aye Kenny you’re not winning this.” You said wrapping your arm around his shoulder jokingly.

The journey continued, we saw more animals, they continued to ask you questions about some animals, but none of them were on the guy’s bingo cards, we drives past cheetah, but Chunkz didn’t saw it so there was no point for him.

It was already now getting dark, it was already 7pm and as we were getting ready to leave we saw a giraffe on road, it was actually so close, and it was even taller closer.

“I wanna touch it.” Kenny said.

“Kenny!” You called out, “it is not permitted touching the giraffe sadly.”

“Why not?” They asked.

“Just for safety reasons.” You smiled, not wanting to cause trouble for the giraffe or anyone else. The giraffe was really close so you could take a picture of it.

It was completely dark now, and y’all saw none of the animals, but mosquitoes. “Ai all we’ve got now is mosquitoes,” Niko said “just going in my eyes.”

“Ai who hit me wallahi..” Aj complained and it was most likely Chunkz who was hitting the mosquitoes away.

“Wasn’t me.” Chunkz quickly defended himself.

“It’s probably because of that damn bright light you have..” you complained, “if it would’ve been turned off, they wouldn’t attack us so much..” you rolled your eyes.

“Well we can’t film in dark’.” Kenny says , at your sudden attitude, probably because you were getting mad of the mosquitoes sucking your blood.

Niko talked to the camera like he always does, like he’s crazy, while everyone else just tried to not fall as the car we were in was going side to side from the awful road.

Kenny was squishing Aj as Aj was laying almost on Sharky and Chunkz, you got up and went next to Niko, because you’d rather talk to the camera than be squished.

Aj had won the challenge even tho as Sharky and Chunkz also had 2 animals, but Aj was the first one to reach two points.

It was finally the time to go back home, honestly you were excited to go home, but on the other hand you didn’t wanna leave Kenya.

But landing in Uk back, you and Kenny both went home straight because all you wanted to do was go home and get under the sheets with Kenny.

He walked into the room you were sitting looking like a lost puppy. You refused to give in to his charms. His big brown eyes and nurture d eyebrows couldn’t sway you.

He spotted you and a big boyish smile grew onto his face. His eyes lit up as he called out your name.

You crossed your arms. 

He tilted his head in confusion but the smile remained big on his face. He walks diver to sit down next to you on the couch.

The feeling of the couch dipping down caused you to get this irritating feeling down your back. One that no amount of scratching could get rid of. You furrowed your eyebrows and turned away from him.

His smile faltered behind your turned back and he placed a gentle hand on your shoulder. You shrugged it off. 

“Y/n? Babe? Talk to me?” He said when you wouldn’t give him a response.

“Baby?” He tried again.

Your lips remained sealed. 

He got off of his seat to bend down in front of you so the two of your were in eye shot of each other again. 

You couldn’t bare to look into his eyes so you tried to look any where but him. 

He tried to move his head to meet where your eyes were looking but gave up. He sighed and looked up at the general direction of your face.

“Let’s not do this” he said, whispering it to maybe make it less douche baggy?

You huffed and reached for the remote sitting next to you. He kept looking at you with those big, brown eyes but you couldn’t give in, atleast not yet. You searched around YouTube for a while, anything to get your mind off the man next to you, pouting at staring into your soul to get you to look back. You hovered over one of his videos before clicking on an old Chunkz one just to add salt to the injury.

You heard a little gasp of offence come from your right which almost caused a little smile to pull through the mask you were putting on. Almost. You were still plenty pissed off, remembering some of the arguments he had made against you earlier.

You watched and laughed along with the video, Niko next to you looking more and more like a hurt puppy next to you throughout. He called out to you a few times but you ignored every “baby” and “I love you” that came from his mouth.

Your phone buzzed next to you and you looked at the caller ID. It was Sharky. He always read people very well, knowing when to avoid them if they were in a bad mood. Or comfort them, like now.

You picked up, “hey”

Niko couldn’t hear the other side of the conversation but he bathed in the sound of your voice again, even if it wasn’t directed at him. Every syllable felt like a warm palm holding his cheek but also the other hand stabbing him in the gut. He felt so bad about the fight and just wanted to explain himself but he hadn’t realised how much it affected you too.

And this was the worst kind of punishment, he could handle you yelling at him, even a few slaps and pushes of the chest but you ignoring him? Not listening to his pleas? That was torture, to say the least.

You talked away happily to Sharky, not noticing how Niko next to had this hands in between his thighs, staring into the floor deep in thought, biting his lip. His eyes were flirting back and forth as he fought with himself to find a way to talk to you. 

You only noticed him when he suddenly lifted himself off the couch and nearly ran to his room. You were worried for a second but a small “y/n?” From the phone brought you back to your conversation.

It had been around 15 minutes and you hung up with Sharky. Niko still wasn’t back so you shrugged to yourself and continued with you video. It had barely started when he came into the living room. 

You fought you initial instinct to look at him. You still wanted to talk to him but you also wanted to teach him a lesson, and tell him what he did was wrong.

Niko came around to you eyesight of his own. You tried to look away but gave in this once, looking him square in his eyes. To Niko the eye contact felt like warm sunlight on his back. 

He held up a little notebook, the first page said “I’m sorry”. You read it and tilted your head at him.

He flipped the page. “Please talk to me again” 

You looked away. A gentle hand on you knee brought your attention back.

The page was turned over again, now it read “I get that some of what I said was wrong can we please talk it out?”

You squinted your eyes at him, not sure this was enough to make you forgive him.

“Please, y/n, I can’t do this anymore” he flipped the page to reveal. That paired with his eyes looking up at you, slightly watery and wide was enough to make you break.

“Alright” you whispered softly into the room.

Niko closed his eyes and dropped his head like that was the greatest thing he had ever achieved.

“Alright, Niko, talk to me” you repeated.

You saying his name was the sweetest thing, the thing that brought peace to his entire being, and he jumped up to hug you.

You fell back onto the sofa with a shocked gasp. He started kissing all over your face and neck and chest and everywhere he could reach. You laughed, but whispered in his ear “get off, I’m still mad”

He pulled himself away, like a shy school boy, “sorry, let me explain myself”

You wouldn’t tell him right now but bai voice was also the most beatitude thing in the world to you, you wouldn’t know what you would do if you could never hear it again.

What are your favorite Far cry 5 headcanons?

Hello! Good question 😁 I've got a few that I tend to apply to my "regular au's" lol.

I've mentioned in another post that goes into more detail about this. I headcanon Staci as being on the wrestling team during school.

It just makes sense to me and has kinda become unofficial canon in my mind so I guess that's my favorite one!

There's the classics!

Jacob's a speed demon and gets pulled over often

Staci's a mama's boy (I actually have a drawing of his mom I've been working on just need to make one last tweak and it'll be ready to post!)

A few others I didn't mention in the other post that I particularly like:

- Jacob not being able to control who passes the trials. They either OD on Bliss and the conditioning or they pass. So Staci would need to pass the trials with his own skills which just ends up as a bonus for Jacob cause now he has a pawn to use against the deputy.

-I usually headcanon Staci as mixed race or "white passing". I did a pretty in depth character study of his features cause I wanted to get it right and that's the vibe I got. I'll probably make another post about that one of these days.

Also, he's always bilingual to me. My go-to headcanon is that I can see him speaking in broken spanish/ english at home with his mom (kind of like in Spiderverse with Miles and his mom). It's the struggle of the immigrant/ 1st gen child wanting to keep in touch with their roots but would struggle to have a convo in pure Spanish. I imagine growing up he was surrounded by kids in similar situations as him so he had alot of opportunities to speak "spanglish" with them even if he wasn't very close to anyone in particular.

- John being scared of Jacob (which is canon) but being the first he runs to when things get tough. Jacob always helps out even if he doesn't agree with John's methods.

- Sharky's actually friends with Hudson and Staci (sorry i dont make the rules 🤷). He's got a 5k reward out for his arrest but no one in the County is willing to bring him in. Everyone's got an unspoken agreement like "He's an arsonist but he's Our arsonist", so when Burke comes sniffin round suddenly nobody's heard of him in weeks, they cannot see 🙂‍↔️.

- This last one is a bit more serious.

Early on, when the Seed's moved in. During the few years that it took to establish the Cult, a lot of the more outspoken deputies had "mysteriously" gone missing, or moved away. On top of that, Whitehorse ended up having to weed out a lot of the cultists and sympathizers when nearly all the evidence they had on the Seed's was "mishandled" "lost" "thrown out in court" ext. which by the end only left Pratt, Hudson, and Nancy.

That meant they had to keep their mouths shut about the cult info, couldn't go on any calls without a partner (which caused alot of houses to get raided since they usually arrived too late), and lots of overnight naps at the station. Staci and Joey worked hard to cover each other but they were running on fumes and practically lived in the station by the time Burke arrived with his little paper of unlimited protection. Rook was meant to be a much needed addition to the department. Unfortunately, their first day turned into a war zone situation.

You and Aj have been dating for 5 months. It's been amazing. You are a racer and this year you got signed with the leading team in F1, Redbull. You were overjoyed and had your first race in a week. You invited Aj and told him to get his friends along as well. 

A week later

The first GP was in Baku, and you had just reached. You went to your hotel and were planning to have lunch with Aj and his friends. You had never met them but you had watched a few of their videos when Aj showed you their channel, and you thought they were hilarious. Aj texts you to come downstairs. You go to the reception and you see Aj standing. “AJ!!” You shout and run over to hug him. You hadn't met in a week since you were so busy with practice. “Y/N, I missed you soo muchh” He says hugging you back. “Are we ready to go?” You ask about the lunch. “I just need to go to my room and wait for the guys to get ready too” He replies “Okayy, im just gonna go get ready as well” You both go into the elevator, Aj gets off on the 3rd floor, where u see his friends, wave slightly before the elevator goes to your floor.

Aj goes to his friends. “Your telling me you pulled her??” Kenny asks. “NO CHANCE MAN BROS LYING” Chunkz shouts louder than expected. “Yeah??” Aj replies confused to all the commotion. “Aj, you know your my friend right? Like we live together and im so close to you, but i call bullshit” niko says. “Aint no way shes your girlfriend, shes too pretty” sharky added on. “I cant believe this man. HOW DO YOU LOT NOT BELIEVE ME?” Aj gets upset. “Nice one bro, its gonna be a great video for you” Chunkz laughs and the rest join in. “I dont even care, just go get ready in 10 minutes for lunch” Aj says as he shakes his head and goes to his room.

10 mins later

All the guys meet up downstairs and are waiting for y/n. “Sooooo your “girlfriend” isn't here yet huh aj?” Niko says, air-quoting girlfriend. “She's coming omg guys believe me she's my girlfriend,” Aj says getting sick of his friends. “Right right we totally believe you bro,” Sharky says sarcastically. Then y/n comes out of the elevator “AJ!! Here!” you shout at him. “Y/N!!” He says back as you walk towards him and his friends. “Guys this is y/n my girlfriend, and y/n this is Niko, Chunkz, Sharky, and Kenny,” He said pointing at each one. “Hey guys, im glad I can finally meet you all!” you say while smiling. All the guys stand with their jaws dropped. “SEE I TOLD YOU!” Aj shouted at them. “What?” you say confused. One of them, you remember as Chunkz says “We saw you in the elevator before, and since youre soo pretty, we just assumed Aj was making this whole thing up as a prank, and we didn't believe him at all… Clearly we were wrong”. You laugh while Aj stands there pouting. “But why?” Kenny asks. “Cause y/n is beautiful, kind and ambitious af?” Aj says like it's the most obvious thing. “No I get that, i was wondering why she would choose you, she's literally a goddess-looking F1 driver, and you're a rat,” He says and all the boys laugh. “Awww, he may be a triangle, but he's a cute triangle” You reply which gets then laughing even more. Aj smacks your arm as you giggle. “She's funny too?? Damn Aj you got nothing over her” Niko says as all of you walk out to go to lunch.

State of grace, part one. this is not a good story. I mean it. You've been warned! this is messy but the events of this take place around 2020 when they all lived together.

“You really don't have to do that.”

Sharky’s laugh echoes in the empty hallway, followed by heavy steps, and a second later, he appears in the kitchen. He finds AJ sitting on a barstool, his face glued to his phone.

“Found your food outside.” He greets him, making AJ smile. Sharky places the brown bag on the island but before AJ can take it, he grabs it again. "Be nice." He warns him and walks by the door to find her approaching.

"I can't walk around the house with shoes on!" She flashes him a quick smile as Sharky pulls her into the spacious kitchen. Her eyes travel everywhere around her. You can tell boys live here.

"Meet someone really quick." He tells his friend and AJ gives her a nod, unwrapping his burger.

"Hi." She shyly says, leaning on the counter close to where Sharky is sitting. AJ's trying not to look at her, but every time he does and Sharky catches him he chuckles, making y/n blush a little.

"Where's Niko and Kenny?"

They saw Chunks leaving as they were getting off the Uber. He said a quick hello, shook her hand, and disappeared saying he was late and his mother would kill him. It's her birthday, Sharky told her later. They're all having dinner together.

"Don't know and editing with George." AJ munches on a fry, suddenly feeling insecure eating in front of people. Well, her. “We have sodas and stuff in the fridge.”

She shakes her head, "I'm good." She would love a soda or some water, anything that will treat her dry throat but it would also make her wanna pee and she is not asking where the bathroom is at a boys' house!

“Well..get me a Mountain Dew?” AJ jokingly asks her, making Sharky tsk-tsked over his friend's boldness.

“Bro!"

"I'm sorry," he doesn't feel that bad over it, she is right next to the fridge! "I just have my food right here and I don't feel like getting up!"

"It's okay." She smiles at him, to show him she doesn't mind snooping around their fridge and walks to it.

“You’re closer, you know.” She tells Sharky as she passes right in front of him.

AJ raises his eyebrows at them. Like telling his friend, I'm sensing a vibe, but Sharky shakes his head as if saying it's not like that.

and it really isn't.

"I can see you.” She mumbles. Her head inside the fridge, her back turned to them but she can sense them talking. She can barely hear Sharky's giggles but she knows he's laughing.

Their fridge is horror. The main items stored there are takeaway boxes, sodas, and water. No real food in sight but she can count over 5 different brands of soda.

"What the.."

Niko enters the kitchen, a shovel in hand and plastic goggles on his head. He's wearing a white/blue onesie and Nike shoes. Surprisingly pulling it off.

“You’re all out.” She closes the fridge door and turns around again. Her eyes fall on Niko's tall frame and unique outfit. She stares at him, and him staring back.

“This is Y/n.” Sharky points one of his fingers at her. He then turns to look at AJ “She’s a friend.” AJ just laughs into his next bite, smirking at his friend. “Say hello Niko.”

Niko simply stares at her. His eyes bored into hers. He feels like he can't move them as if looking away will make her disappear and he doesn't want that.

"Niko!" AJ yells at him, snapping him out of his daydream. "Say hello to Sharky's friend." he teases Sharky back, earning an eye roll from him.

"Yes, hello." He steps closer, extending his hand for a handshake. Confused and with AJ's laugh in the background she takes his hand into hers. For a quick second and then Niko steps back again.

"Okay, if you excuse me now. I have to get back to this." He waves his shovel up and down and exits the room.

"He's just awkward, don't mind him," AJ tells her, still laughing with Niko.

This was the first time they ever saw each other. She used to watch him interview strangers on the street every so often on youtube but still hasn't spilled that secret to him. From that time, Niko could tell they'll be friends. It's just a feeling, he had told her when she asked him how he knew. She laughed at him. She laughed at how awkward he was then and how different things are now between them. When Sharky first brought her home, hoping to get the boys to hire her as a photographer he didn't know how much she would end up meaning to them and how close they'll get. On a Monday morning, a year and a few months into their friendship, Niko got that feeling.

It was the same Monday as the one before. And the one before that, and before that, and so on. He woke up, had leftovers from the night before as breakfast, and left the house to go film for the beta squad channel.

Two hours later, they were there, the filming running late ‘cause of the bickering and messing around that was happening. Just another normal day. And then it happened. For the first time in years, it happened.

He was scrolling through Instagram killing time when he saw the new photo dump she had posted. She was visiting home, for over two weeks now, and from the looks of it she was having the time of her life.

He stood up and walked to the other side of the room. The studio was too loud for anyone to hear him talking on the phone but he still needed his space. She didn’t pick up. He called again, and again and again.

“You’re really annoying you know.” She greets him when she finally answers the facetime.

“I called three times. What if I was dead by now?” He jokes, earning a scoff from her.

“Please! Nothing can kill Nikolas Omilanay.”

He smiles, thinking of many ways he could have been dead by now. He doesn’t mention them, he lets her have this one. “So how’s home? Bored yet?”

“A little. My grandma keeps asking me when I’m gonna get a real job and dad thinks I’m doing drugs again.” She laughs, making him laugh along.

“He still thinks that?” They laugh at the inside joke they created a while ago when her dad was in London and met Niko for the first time. He liked him until the drug jokes came up.

He knows she doesn't have the best relationship with her mother, so he doesn't mention anything about her. They catch up as if they haven't been texting nonstop since she left. A second of silence goes by and then she says, “why did you call? Are you terribly missing me or are you actually dying?”

He grins, not saying anything. He's terribly missing her but he doesn't say so.

“Well-”

Aj’s scream cuts him off. “Niko! Come on man!”

He sighs. “I have to go, we’re filming, and AJ's calling."

"Okay. It was nice hearing your awfully loud voice, Nikolas."

He smiles. "It was nice hearing your terrible, terrible voice too. Come back soon, yeah?"

"You're doing that creepy thing again," AJ tells him when he sits back in his chair. "You're smiling to yourself, man. Share the joke or stop it. It's disturbing."

It was quite disturbing.

Two days later, his phone starts ringing in the middle of the night. 4:30 a.m. Jesus.

"You better be dead." He says, his heart beating so fast, he thinks it might fall out of his chest.

Her loud laugh calms him down. "I know it's late."

"Late? No! Don't say that." He was more worried than angry when she woke him up. Who doesn't sleep at 4 a.m.?

"Can you pick me up from the airport tomorrow?"

"Oh, God." He lets his head fall back to the pillow, the phone still on his ear and a smile on his face. "You woke me up at 4 a.m. to ask me to pick you up? What is wrong with you?"

"You're sleeping during witch hour? When do you cast your spells?"

He laughs, "What a terrible joke that was."

"And yet, you still laughed."

"I did, yeah."

"So..are you? Picking me up tomorrow?" He doesn't know why she started whispering now but he doesn't question it. He whispers back, "of course I will."

"So what were you dreaming?" Her face is hidden under the blankets, the phone resting next to her on the pillow while Niko is on speaker.

"I was in the f.b.i. and we were searching for this ruthless murderer who killed his friend. Stabbed her fourteen times. Turns out, all this time, the murderer had been me." She laughs, making him laugh along. "The stabbed, dead friend is you, by the way."

"Yeah, I got that."

He can hear AJ playing on his computer. His voice gets loud now and then when he loses. He feels the need to go over there and talk to his friend. But he can't move.

"Why aren't you asleep?"

"Oh, it's morning already over here." She lies.

"We're in the same time zone. It is exactly..4:35 in the morning."

"I'm rolling my eyes at you right now. Just so you know."

Around 5 a.m. the phone call ends and Niko is still in the same position. He can't move and he can't make that feeling go away. It's stored somewhere in his lower belly area and he doesn't like it one bit. He phones AJ, despite being two doors away.

"Are you not in your room?" It's the first thing AJ asks him.

"I don't feel well," Niko mutters and rolls to the side, facing the window. He forgot to close the blinds again and soon, he could be able to see the sun rising. There is no way he can go back to sleep now, so he might as well enjoy the sunrise.

"Are you sick?" AJ shuts his computer off and makes his way to Niko's side of the house.

"Maybe. I don't know." He mumbles. The phone call ends as the door to his room opens and AJ steps inside. He lays next to him facing the ceiling and sighs, "I had like two bottles of Mountain Dew and I can't sleep. My stomach is fucked up."

"Something's happening to me," Niko grumbles back. He lays back on his back, keeping his eyes closed.

AJ turns to look at him, "are you gonna throw up?" He stands up on the bed, looking down at him. "You don't look sick."

"My stomach hurts a little bit, or maybe my head, I don't know." He touches his head, his hand slowly falling to his face.

"Is that why you're awake?"

Niko mumbles on his palm, his voice is barely audible. “Y/n called. She woke me up.”

AJ laughs, loudly, almost waking the whole house up and sits back on the bed. He rests his head on his palm, looking at Niko's side profile. "You got bitten by a love bug, my friend."

“What?” Niko opens his eyes but keeps them on the ceiling, afraid to look at AJ and the smug smile on his lips.

“You’re in love, man." He pats him on the chest three times, "You’re not sick. I mean you are sick in the head but this isn’t it.”

Niko catching up on what AJ is saying and gets defensive. “I’m not in love with anyone.” He slaps his hand off his chest and sits up straight.

“Except Y/n.”

Niko rolls his eyes, “Stop it. I don’t allow myself to feel these emotions."

He couldn't allow himself to feel that way about her because he knew she wasn't. He would consider himself lucky if only she thought of Niko as someone worth loving. More than a friend. He was scared he waited too long to say something and now he'll forever be stuck in the friend zone. Stuck in that in-between place. Where you almost kiss on a night out, where you almost lean into each other when the movie gets too boring, and when you have two more shots of tequila you do normally, your lips find each other and it goes from there. He waited so long, being her friend started to make him feel less. Numb, like he was in pain sometimes. Like when he picked her up from the airport and she hugged him so tight, neither wanted to let go. Or the way she would talk nonstop about things while looking at him and not the road ahead of them. He had to stop himself from taking her face into his palms and yell at her to love him back, to reach into his brain and somehow read his thoughts and love him without him having to say it. Because he couldn't bear the thought of confessing these feelings to her and not having her reciprocate them back. Not only would she stop being around, but she would also stop being his friend. She would stop being there every time they were filming, laughing secretly behind the camera. She would stop being Sharky's friend, she would stop coming to the house and slowly they would drift apart. He didn't want to lose her, but he soon realized he couldn't keep living like that. He was miserable, only joking and smiling when she was around. So he made a plan. Α τhree steps plan to make her notice him. Number one was talking to Sharky. He knows Sharky doesn't like her like that. He recently got out of a relationship himself. But, since he was the one introducing them, since he was the one begging them to hire a photographer and basically pay her to hang around with them, he felt like he had to say something to him first. So he decided that the first person he would confess his feelings to would be Sharky. And he would do it tonight, minutes after Sharky had ended his twitch stream and he would be exhausted to tease him much.

Three knocks on his bedroom door later, Niko was seated in Sharkys room. He was still on his computer, lazily scrolling down on Twitter. Niko was playing with his hoodie strings, looking at him from the foot of the bed. This is Sharky. His old friend. It's fine.

"Just so you know, this started being weird and creepy the moment you sat there looking at me."

He rolls his eyes, deciding to say something. "I want to say something to you."

"Noooo" Sharky sarcastically replies, spinning his chair to the side to look at him.

"Yeah actually," this shouldn't have been so hard, but he can't get his words out. "this is about you. Well, not you but this is also about you. But not really. It's more about people you know. And people I know. Because, you know, I, myself, have made a few friends this past year. Years, really."

"So it's about those friends?"

"Yes and No."

"I don't get it."

Niko snaps his fingers. "I kinda hoped you would without me saying anything to you."

"Is this something bad about a person I know?"

Niko shakes his head no.

"Is someone dead?"

"Well, a lot of people have died recently but-"

"Dude!"

"Okay, here's the thing." three deep breaths. "I've recently been feeling weird and it came to my senses that I may have some unintentional feelings about this one person that we both know and I just wanted to see how would you feel about me having these feelings about a person you also know."

"What feelings?" Sharky asks, lost. Niko said so many words, it messed up his head.

"Romantic feelings one might say."

"You have feelings-”

"Romantic feelings,"

"right, romantic feelings about a person I know and you're asking me what you should do about it?"

"Well, no. I'm asking you how that makes you feel."

"That you have feelings for someone?"

Niko nods his head.

"Well, I don't know man. Good? I don't.." Sharky turns to his computer screen again. A second later he spins back around. “You’re not talking about my sisters, are you? I’ll kill you.”

Niko defensibly puts his hands up, “Isn’t your oldest sister like…underaged?”

Sharky nods, “Well yeah, but you confused me.”

His bedroom door snaps open and AJ walks inside, eating cereal out of the box. “Who’s in love with your sister?” He stands in the middle of the room, his attention on both of them.

“Niko.”

“I’m not!”

“You better not be!” Shark shakes his finger towards him as a warning.

“You’re in love with his sister too?” AJ laughs, devouring a handful of cereal.

“Who else are you in love with?”

“Y/n,” AJ says.

Sharky gasps, looking at Niko who pulls on his hoodie strings to close the hoodie around his face.

“Romantic feelings about a person we both know!”

“He said romantic feelings?” AJ takes a seat on the bed, next to Niko and smiles. “You’re so weird. Can’t you say in love or something?”

“I’m not in love with her.” Niko argues, “I barely know her.”

The plan didn’t work. Well, he never made an actual plan. After he told Sharky, he had to deal with his friends making fun of him and teasing him every time she was around. She would laugh, pretending not to understand the jokes. And then one day, she dropped the bomb on him.

“I actually have plans.” She politely declined Chunck's invitaton of them all going to dinner together after shooting all day. Niko knew she’s been living with her best friend for months now, not thinking much about it and thinking she is the one y/n made plans with, he kept scrolling down on his Instagram feed.

“Plans? You have other friends?” Sharky joked with her, touching his heart and pretending to be hurt by her words.

She slapped his hand away, “It’s..more of a date.”

AJ’s head snapped up so fast, he had to close his eyes for a second to prevent himself from fainting. “A date?”

All eyes were on Niko. He kept his head low, pretending his heart wasn’t ready to fall out of his chest. Of course, she has a date. Of course, she’s dating.

“Yeah..it’s..um..it’s not much. We met at this thing my friend dragged me last Saturday and he asked me out, so..why not?”

“Yeah,’ Sharky said, his eyes widening at Niko,” why not?”

“How do you know he’s not a murderer?” is the first thing Niko thought of saying to her. He wanted to sound casual like he was not dying on the inside looking at her smiling about her date with another man.

What the fuck? AJ mouthed at Niko, but he ignored him, too busy looking at her and rolling her eyes at his words.

“He’s not a murderer, Niko. He’s nice, I've seen him before. Plus, it’s not like we’re going to a remote place. Other people are gonna be there.”

“Where?”

“Cinema. We’re seeing a movie.”

AJ rolls his eyes at that, mimicking her voice. “We’re seeing a movie.” His expression turns serious again, “That’s the best he can do?”

“I don’t like dinner as a first date thing. It’s too intimate.”

They were packed up and ready to go separate ways, standing outside of the studio.

“I can drive you home.” Sharky offers her a ride, which she gladly accepts.

The whole ride Sharky was dying to tell her to ghost her date and go to dinner with them. Maybe date Niko, you know. But he didn’t say anything. He dropped her off, told her to have fun on her date with the fakest smile on his lips, and drove off. It was a good first date. Not the best, but she had fun. He was nice and he listened to her rumble about her life. He didn’t kiss her goodbye, which she hoped he didn’t. She stayed up all night, analyzing the date, his personality, and every small detail with her best friend, Faith. “I don’t think you’re feeling him much.” She told her.

She barely had an hour of sleep before Sharky showed up at her apartment door, knocking on the door like a maniac. “We’re going karting," he said the biggest smile on his face.

A couple of hours later, AJ was bragging about his win. “Unreal” he was calling himself, nonstop.

“Maybe don’t compliment yourself so much,” George told him as they were walking to the car. Niko had been distant all day, making her think something was up. He’s never that quiet. He hasn’t even teased AJ yet.

She decided to ride with George and Niko back.

“I’ll go with you too,” AJ claimed, and after making a speech about winning and deserving special treatment, he jumped on the passenger seat leaving Niko and Y/N squished in the back.

His leg has gone numb. He stopped breathing the moment she sat next to him and his heart hasn’t stopped beating that fast since she leaned into him. The car is small. Too small for Niko and his big body frame, too small for two people sitting in the back, and definitely too small for her to be laying in his lap. Is he complaining? Never. George makes a turn on her street and Niko, careful not to wake her, taps his shoulder.

“Go around again.”

“What?” George tosses him a quick look and turns ahead again.

“You’re crazy, we’ve already taken the long way home. I’m not going anywhere.” He almost feels bad for his friend. He almost turns around, but he’s been awake since 5 am. He’s tired and hungry and wants to go home finally.

“I’ll pay for the gas. I’ll buy you a new car! Just…don’t stop.”

With an eye roll and a few mumbles, you’re buying me a car all right, you better pay for gas next time, you owe me dinner, George drives past her house and they start doing circles again. Niko signs and lets his head fall back onto the headrest.

AJ grinning from ear to ear turned to look at Niko, “How long do you reckon we can go around in circles until she wakes up?”

He doesn’t know. He kind of hoped for forever but he can settle for another hour.

I've read everything you've written and it's all incredible, you're my favourite BG3 author and I also revisit your fics frequently 😭❤ If you want to know anything about my Tav let me know! (in fact if anyone wants to know more about my Tav, please feel free to ask because I love her and could talk about her and her backstory for hours) But either way you have my blessing to have fun with her.

Also, I can't say I was expecting the fuck-me-tail thing to take off but I can't say I'm not pleased! It's been really fun to see so many people immediately latch onto and get inspired by it. I rub my hands together and gleefully go "yes, YESS" every time someone comments that they've accepted it into their headcanon.

Part 3 of the comic will also be coming soon-ish! It unfortunately doesn't have Rolan in it (we're getting some more of the aftermath on Tav's side of things ft. Astarion) but part 4 is finally going to force them to interact again and I already have it entirely planned out so I'm practically vibrating out of my skin waiting to get to it
