I was shooked when I saw that the mc Or main villainn... (Who knows :OO) uri, shared the same name as my oc, HWRHWHR but vruhman. I just saw the series rn on yt only. I mean, the idea and plot of the series was REALLY interesting, and it lowkey gave me IHNMAIMS vibes for some reason. But I gotta say despite the fact that it uses AI to execute it's art, it's still mid asf... Sadly... I was dissatisfied and disappointed with the first 10 swconds only and got bored uhrm

There's MANYY reasons for this tho :( cuz I actually found out the creator used a craploada doctor nowhere art and shoved it into their ai thingy. No wonder uri looks so much like the boiled one phenomenon. 2. The constant use of creepy ahh soundtracks in the background, like lavender town- I feel it's trying WAYYY too hard to look scary- 3. Man, why did they steal the "GOD IS HERE" Chorus from squirrel stapler >:O and 4. Inconsistent art, because at first I thought the ugly ahh melted tar looking mf at the start was a whole different character. I mean sure dude was tortured in the most agonizing ways possible but it looks like a whole new creature. And yeah, I know AI isnt the best at keeping their chracter designs constant but STILLLLUHH. ThEN JUST HIRE ACTUAL ARTISTS?? CLUGH COYGH WELL GET 2 THAT And yeah. The ai voices.. Augh.. They haunt me. I hate the part where he says "save.me."

And the most important reason- it's confusing as hell. No. I know an analog series won't straight up reveal it's lore to the dramatic effects blah blah wtver but like, why is the plot always changing? I dont get it. Whos the jug is even the mc- and the little cyber desert apocalyptic world seems wayyy too..overused.. And not fun. And also. The prophecy stated archangel uriel will be CAPTURED by humans to be used as a living powerbank. So why did uriel go down there WILLINGLY to help them? Did he not know what's going on? Was he just naïve as heck? Because the dialogues heavily implied that he actually did know that, and he didn't feel that much pain while being tortured and still loves the humans. Which was pretty sad. Maybe he just didn't show it...

BUT other than that. I've also heard sm very good news. the creator said they'll be hiring ACTUAL REAL ARTISTS (AYYAYAYWYAY) since the series was actually getting popular. And due to the well, hateee.. But there's also another bad thing cuz people who were actually very skilled artists said they'll be willing to even draw for them for free :( which welp didn't seem reaaaally fair to me ig but man, if this series actually gets fixed in the other episodes it's gonna be absolute cinema.... AND POOR URIEL I FEEL SO BAD FOR THE LIL FELLER AUEUEUEGH EVEN AFTER ALL THIS. The disappointing thing about Angel engine, besides the obvious shit with the AI, is that I normally would have loved it. If it was any good.

I am a sucker for horror that uses angels or religion. But if we removed the AI from the picture, it is still lackluster. The execution is poor, it's just spelling out everything without an ounce of subtlety. And the voices, which are also AI, are a pain to listen to. The first episodes are just the weird wispy voice going "How to (blank). Step one-".

The idea of humanity using an angel, a divine being who only desires to help them, as a battery when the world is almost destroyed, is a good one. But the way Angel engine goes about it is ??? It's public information that they're torturing a literal angel? And this doesn't cause public outrage, even though the first episode established that people of all religions prayed for salvation. You're telling me religious people wouldn't take issue with a corporation torturing one of gods creations?

I like the idea of Angel engine, but not the series itself. Uriel by himself has potential, and he is the only thing I like that's come out of the series. But I like the version of him I have in my mind.

but like... to the point where it feels like he's treating you like a child! he doesnt like to see you sweat or even work at all for that matter. he loves it when you cook but has bought covers for all the knifes. if he sees a burn on your hand get ready for a 10 minute long lecture. if you accidentally fall he wont let you get up for atleast 3 days to help you ""heal."" it's almost like he doesnt trust you to take care of yourself :') he probably has like 3 separate first-aid kits everywhere.

i feel like this is explainable to his character (sort of.) i dont think that he'd make you feel isolated at all, he's be an amazing listener and probably memorizes every word you say. he listens to you rant and even trauma dump with insane patience. but at some point it feels as though you hardly know him. he's talk to you a lot but very little of it is personal and you hardly know what he's thinking because his ass is not tell you. he also unintentionally distances himself from people from time to time. this applies to you too and you can feel him getting emotionally distant sometimes. it isnt something he does knowingly but it sure ass hell bothers you.

satoru gojo — very clingy and needy

this nigga. he is so utterly clingy. and at first it's perfectly fine, even appreciated by you. you still love him like crazy of course but it is just overwhelming. he is like a child most of the time, he need you around him and is always accompanying you wherever you go, and he expects you to do the same. he also doesn't believe in "me time" because why would you feel better when you're away from him: (? want to hang out with your friends? what do you need them for: (? he's right there. he is also physically incapable of listening but boy is he good at making up.

toji fushiguro — controlling

he is so controlling omfg. it's usually subtle but sometimes he will outright just say no to things he doesnt like, not caring if you like them. it gets to the point where he actually starts to change your personality. he is very caring and that's his justification for this typa stuff. it is usually harmless stuff but he gets paranoid often. he doesnt let you wear miniskirts out if you're not with him. he doesn't let you befriend people he thinks are into you. he barely lets you buy stuff on your own, he usually gifts you whatever it is youre into at that moment. borderline turned on by fear and you being dependent on him.

choso kamo — has no social life outside you

pretty self explanatory. he doesnt have many friends outside you and isn't interesting in making them either. total loser. so taking him out to events, he probably doesnt interact much and chooses to look at you the entire time, which annoys your friends. he answers their questions pretty bluntly. he's never down to have people over and lowkey hates when you are.

also self explanatory. he leaves early, comes home late. you barely see him on the weekdays. sometimes he goes as far as ignoring your calls when in between cases. he calls you periodically but has to have an alarm set to remind him. he loves you very very deeply but is just used to working non stop T_T

Danny shrugged a little and offered gently, “I mean… I think you should talk to her first. As a hero, the one thing we hate more than our nemeses is our loved ones getting hurt. She was probably going to make a plan to keep you safe and get rid of Cluemaster at the same time while you two were broken up. It’s not like she knew you could defend yourself or that you had us to protect you either. It’s your choice, but honestly… cut her some slack.”

“I was going to, anyways,” Wes grumbled. “She wanted to protect me, and I won’t punish her for that. Even if she thinks I’m some sort of defenseless, stupid civilian.”

“Well….” Dani said and she and Danny shared an amused look before bursting into laughter. Wes rolled his eyes as Jazz gave an amused huff. Dan just crossed his arms and looked at Wes with a bored look.

“If you want, we could take care of Cluemaster,” Dan said. “You should talk to her and then hopefully resolve this.”

Everyone looked at him with vaguely impressed expressions. Jazz was a tad teary as she said, “Oh, Danny, I’m so proud of you! Actually offering something altruistic! Oh, you’re growing up!”

“I’m already grown up!” Dan snarled, bristling with a green tinge to his cheeks. “I’m 8 years older than you!”

“My little brother’s growing up and being nice!” Jazz gushed, pulling him into a hug as he scowled and ground his fangs together.

Danny and Dani burst into laughter again and even Wes couldn’t help but chuckle. He relaxed as the siblings all bantered and had fun, leaving him a moment of quiet amidst the oddly soothing noise to think about what to do.

Stephanie had definitely panicked and tried to handle everything on her own, but even if it pissed him off how she made that decision on her own and left him behind in the dust, he was determined to have her back. As a plan began to formulate in his head, Wes nodded to himself.

bakugou, kirishima, sero, denki, mina & occasionally you, are the popular kids. they get a bad rep because of a very loud and obnoxious boy named katsuki but they've all been unseperable since litterally elementary ( except for that one time kirshima and denki were fighting over mina in like middle school lol ).

the 5 of them are a group but they're always favorites, katsuki prefers eijirou and vice versa, sero prefers denki and vice versa, mina prefers herself and vice versa.

their bond —

mina started to feel less alone now that you're ( kinda ) hanging out with them, ( she invites you to everything, you show up sometimes ) bakugou and kirishima are the student-athletes of the group, ( mostly katsuki, kirishima just can't let himself fall behind ) which leaves denki and sero to be the goofy slightly depressed pair with grades aizawa gave up on trying to restore.

mina is closer with kiri and bakugou, she lives right next to them and so they see each other more often. she used to think after eijirou stopped liking her bakugou started, (she thinks they almost kissed once) but she'd never talked about it and so neither did he.

bakugo is scary, nonchalant, girl repellent up to his seinor year, kirishima fakes nonchalance for all of 30 seconds then decides he actually doesn't care. out of the entire friend group he's had the most partners, denki blames it on the fact hes a fb player, mina brings up the fact katsuki is also a fb player, denki brings up the fact that well, it's katsuki.

denki is highkey the worst influence ever, sero stopped running track because of him, got him into drugs a little, lowkey possessive over their friendship. sero thinks he's fine, has slight fomo whenever denki hogs him from his other friends but can't resist the attention he gets.

smoking buddies who smoke often, sero says he wouldn't ingest anything that doesn't come from the earth, denki is a vape demooonn. im talking acid to adderoll, doesnt matter what it is, long as it can get him high he'll take it. (yes, he is crossfaded constantly, yes his brain is melted beyond oblivion)

the 4 of them ( not even sero ) are completely aware of how bad his addiction is. kirishima lowk suspects something but doesn't have the courage to say anything. ( coward )

mina is social butterfly, instagram queen. knows everyone and everything, everyone and everything knows her ( side note: her favorite person to gossip with is actually katsuki, you'd be surprised on how messy he can be ) she was the first to loose her virginity, also the therapist of the group. ( it's a full time job with them )

told her girls first ( tsu, jirou w/ details ) they freaked when they found out who it was, told katsuki, kirishima, sero, denki in that order ( no details ). kaminari and hanta clapped and whistled, offered weed to celebrate. eijirou nodded in approval, katsuki shrugged. he didn't expect todoroki of all people to be the person yet somehow it wasn't so surprising.

when they were in their junior year of highschool, things got really bad and people started calling them "fallout 5". it of course was nothing like that, denks overdosed on purpose, ( twice in that same year ) lived, then said he hated all of them. bakugou got an injury that put him out of the season forever. sero and kat had his huge fight which left mina to pick a side, kirishima had to move away temporarily but when he came back he didn't come back alone.

their plans —

things were restored senior year! ( took a long healing process for all of them, made them closer ) katsuki wants to be a professional athelete or maybe a lawyer, he hasn't completely decided yet. kiri wants to be doctor, it was kind of unexpected, everyone thought he'd go pro like bakugou. sero wants to be a dj, tells everyone he's going into finace tho. denki wants to be a stay at home dad, but in the meanwhile tries to look for jobs that have anything related to electrical fixing. ( fun fact, he used to be really good at math before he stopped practicing )

When Mal decided to open the barrier forever, it was cerainly an adjusment for everyone.

The Vks that came over to auradon were enrolled into auradon prep and all assigned an auradon student to help them settle in and answer any questions they might have.

You weren't the biggest fan of that arrangementt. Not because you didnt like or trust the vks, you were actually quite close with all of the cour four. You just werent a big people person. So having to share your dorm with someone you dont know and most likely having them at your side 24/7? Not ideal for you.

Especially when you heard who you were going to be paired with. 

But Mal had basically begged you to help. 

"Please. I know you dont like this but he is kind of difficult and i know that you could handle him. I dont know anyone else that could."

So you reluctantly agreed.

Mal was right. Harry Hook was certainly difficult. He was really stuck in ways and refused to change. He refused to follow any rules, he was mean and he hated school. And the worst thing? He was stupidly hot.

Now, you hated school just as much, and you did skip a few lessons here and there but you had respect for your teachers and your peers. And you knew that unfortunately school was important for your future. 

Usually you couldnt care less if other people got on trouble but harry was your responsibility now, so everytime he got into trouble, you were getting dragged into it. And you hated it.

Harry quickly wiped his eyes of the tears swimming in them, hoping you wouldnt notice. But you did.

You were shocked by his sudden and surprisingly honest outburst. For a few very long seconds you just stared at each other.

"Harry...." You took a slow step towards him. "I'm sorry. I should've realized how hard this would be. And I know it will be difficult, but i promise you that from now on you wont have to hide anymore. You're safe here." 

Now, standing right before harry, you layed your hand on his shoulder. Harrys eyes met yours, once again swimming with tears but a small smile gacing his lips.

"Thank ye."

You reached up to wipe the tear that had fallen from his eye, your hand resting on harrys cheek, his head leaning into your touch.

You noticed how close you two had gotten. Your eyes flickering from harrys eyes to his lips for a split second.

"Harry?" Your noses brushed against each other ever so slightly.

"Yea?" His voice was barely a whisper.

"I really hope I'm not reading this wrong," You voice matched his. "but can I kiss you?"

Harry was silent, and for a few excruciating second you truly thought you were wrong. Harry was into guys, you knew that much. He didnt hide that part about himself. But did he like you?

"Yes please." 

A small sigh of relief left your mouth as you leaned in, your lips moving against his. Harrys hands moved to your hips, gripping at the exposed skin, thanks to your lack of shirt. In turn your hands wrapped around his neck, your fingers gripping onto his hair.

When you parted for air, you kept your eyes closed, your foreheads leaning against each other. 

For a few seconds all you could hear was you heavy breathing and your own heartbeat, loud in your ears, before Harry leaned in and kissed you again. His hands pulling you flush against his bare chest by your hips.

Once again you pulled back, this time a little more, looking into each others eyes.

Aaaa!! I’m so glad you asked, this is my favorite topic. Lowkey was writing something like this already but this will just be a different version to it. Sorry this took so long, I had a lot going on. I work a lot so it’s hard for me to make time sometimes. Plus I didn’t know what direction to take this. So sorry if it’s butt cheeks. Also I’m using Sabrina’s music cause I love her 🤭 another note, this doesn’t follow the description I made for girly!popstar reader because this came first. So this is yours anon.

The anticipation was turning your stomach inside out. You were in your fifth city and should have been accustomed to touring by now. But still, this was different. You were back in Kildare, the fresh ocean air hitting your face, as you stared out into the crowd. You were hidden behind curtains. The nerves were rushing through you.

“It’s been a while, huh?”Mike,one of the boys who danced with you asked, you simply nodded your head. It’d been too long actually. You’d made sure that you played in your hometown. Hoping that it would be enough for one blue eyed boy to come out and see you. But you weren’t sure, the music you made didn’t seem like something he would be into.

“Too long.”

This tour so far was taking a lot out of you. You hadn’t anticipated how much of a demand you became. You’d sold out almost every show that you had listed. It was crazy and the magnitude of it, still couldn’t conclude in your brain.

“Congratulations girl. Seems like you brought out a big crowd. You must have been popular.”

Which was further than the truth, but you laughed at his joke anyway.

“You go up in five!” Ricky, one of the tour managers says. “Get into position people!”

“You ready?”

You nodded, the crowd is loud, unexpectedly. You hadn’t known how many people were going to be here. Your heart was racing, but this was your favorite part.

You waited until it was your cue…

Wheezie had been persistent. She’d been there since the beginning of your journey; quite literally. So she had wanted to come out to one of your shows. She’d asked Ward and Rose, they shared worried glances over at Rafe.

“It’s fine.. it’s not like you’re asking me to go.” Rafe says, but Wheezie has a look on her face that says otherwise.

“Why? She’s my ex girlfriend. That’s weird.” Rafe said but deep down he knew he wanted to go. His heart still beat for you, he just didn’t want to admit to that. He would look soft and he hated looking soft.

“I still have hope for the two of you.” Wheeze admits. Rafe rolls eyes but his heart flutters.

“Hope is for suckers.”

She managed to make him come to your show. A big grin on her face, Sarah managed to weasel her way into seeing you as well. The Cameron siblings never got along well. Wheezie getting along separately which each of them. But somehow you managed to bring them all together.

“Introducing.. the one and only.. Y/N L/N.” You ran out on stage, a cute little smile on your face. Rafes heart leaped as he saw you. He couldn’t believe he was seeing you living your dream.

“Oh I leave quite an impression..”

Your eyes spotted Rafe, halfway through the song. Your heart raced, you hadn’t expected this to happen. Never believed in a million years, you would see those bright blue eyes again. You noticed Wheezie and Sarah in the crowd with him. Your heart swelled even more.

The song finishes, your heart racing as you run of to the other side of the stage. You felt awkwardness trying to built a home in you. But you shook it off with a head shake. The next song was one that you made about him. When you were angry and you weren’t sure how he’d take it.

“I won’t give a fuck about you.”

The song began and you had to start singing once more. You were getting the audience pumped up and you could spot Wheezie and Sarah dancing. Rafe had his arms crossed, his jaw ticking. Great.

“I won’t give a fuck about you!” You sang into the mic then turning it to the crowd. They repeated the words as you did so. You spot Sarah singing it into Rafes face and he rolls his eyes. A giggle you can’t hear over the crowd escapes her lips. Wheezie is smiling up at you and you smile back.

“My cute ass bye bye!”

You couldn’t help but laugh as you danced along to your music. Thankfully, it looked like it was apart of the show.—What were the odds, Rafe was here, Wheezie and Sarah made sense. But you don’t know how they managed to drag Rafe along with them. You continue on anyway, you had a show to put on. And you were surprised how amp up everyone was. How many of them knew the lyrics to your song.

This felt so surreal, like you couldn’t believe people here still kept up to date with you.

Rafe had always known you were someone meant for a life bigger than you. So this was no surprise, it stung to know that he was inches away from you. But unable to hold you, kiss you, to be with you. You were finally at your final three songs.

He could tell Wheezie and Sarah were having fun. He hated that he was the sore thumb in the situation. His arms were crossed, not because he didn’t want to be here. But because this wasn’t how he expected things to have gone between the two of you. Things had fallen apart so badly and he didn’t think it was irreversible. He had let things hang in the air like it didn’t matter. When it did.

“You know she’s here for a couple of more days until she leaves again..” Sarah says, her eyes still on you, Rafe slowly turns to her.

“How do you know that?”

Sarah only smiles looking up at him.

You had stopped by one of the local coffee shops the next day, tired from night 1 out of the three shows you were going to do at Kildare. You tapped your fingers gently on the table, your eyes staring at the door. Waiting for someone…

SPOILERS FOR SA2 AND SHADOW THE HEDGEHOG

A/n: yooo, from when i was obsessed with epic!!!! i realize i lowkey love making song fics but hate reading them, this is based on shadow the hedgehog ending where vector is there and is theoretically he commits petit suisse iykyk. i had this since this song officially came out, but i never knew how to end it. also dont focus on the massive plot hole it has because of that stupid fucking bed, i didnt know what to replace it with, and writing about it just cut the mood

"Shadow... Is it you?" You looked up delicately as if your eyes could make him disappear again. It has been such a long time without him, everyone thought he was dead, yet he was standing right in front of you, your Shadow. "Have my prayers been answered? Is it really you standing there? Or am I dreaming once more...?"

They say eyes are the mirrors of the soul; he was never a soft man, or at least he never showed it, but his look was different, lacking any meaning. He was roaming the city without a path, looking at the destruction he had caused for being so gullible, for following black doom orders, for being born. He was barely there, only his physical form was still tied to the living world, but not for that long.

"You look different, your eyes look tired, your frame is lighter, your smile torn..." You cautiously step closer, the streets were still burning, nonetheless, the city was free from the black arms, and they now could slowly fix it again. Maybe you could fix him too...

"Is it really you my love...?" His eyes opened wide the moment your hands cupped his cheeks, as if they were the most precious thing in the world, it was the gentlest touch he had received this entire time, punches and pain were what he experienced since he woke up. He still didn't recognize you in his mind, but his heart and body were telling another story. His mouth reacted faster than he could process, his subconscious taking over for this job, protecting the only thing he had left.

"I am not the one you fell in love with, not the one you once adored. I am not your kind and gentle lover, I am not the love you knew before." He surprised himself with those words, it seems his soul knew you. All he comprehended he was feeling was guilt and shame, he didn't feel worthy of you, but he wanted you by his side nonetheless, maybe you were the answer. He drove his face away from your hands, he was not even capable of looking at you, though the hurt in your eyes made him continue with a soft whisper.

"Would you fall in love with me again if you knew all I've done? The things I cannot change, would you love me all the same?" Your heart clenched, you wanted to protect him, to pull him into your arms, to tell him everything was alright, but you knew he wasn't prepared, his walls too high to take them down so suddenly, so you waited for him once again. Meanwhile, you gently took his hands, scared that he'd pull away and lose him, but you needed to ground him.

"What kind of thing did you do...?" You tilted your head and tried to seek his eyes, those amber orbs you've missed and thought you'd never see again, your eyes also darted for a moment to one of the corpses left to rot on the street. You weren't dumb, you were aware he isn't the most moral man, efficiency is his highest priority in missions, whereas when things get too cruel, he stands his ground. He pulled away from you and physically distanced himself, only showing his back to you as he told his story.

"Left a trail of red on every street, as I traded friends like objects I could use. Hurt more lives than I could count on my hands, but all of that was to learn who was the one you once knew..." He reminisced all the times he helped Black Doom, he tried remending it by helping what they called themselves his friend, but the damage in his soul had been done, and the karma he owned couldn't be reverted. Although he wasn't deserving of love, he was greedy for you, for something he used to call his own. "So tell me, would you fall in love with me, I know that you've been waiting..." He gave a glimpse in your direction to make sure you were still there, the shame grew stronger and stronger the more he remembered. He failed everyone, his promise, his friends, himself... You.

"If that's true... Could you do me a favor? Just a moment of labor, that would bring me some peace.." You hugged your form in a grimace, everything felt cold. You went back to step one, after building trust with him, you had lost it all. If he was the same man you fell in love with, if he remembered and valued you, he should know how to act accordingly. "Remember that wedding bed? Could you carry it over? Lift it high on your shoulders, and take it far away from here"

"How could you say this?" his eyes hardened and a scowl folded into his features, the coldness had returned, that was the drop in the glass for him to finally take you in, not in the way you wanted, despite that, it was an advance. Shadow felt offended, betrayed by that request, did everything mean nothing to you? He took a step closer, pointing at his chest as he explained, pained behind his eyes. "I had built that wedding bed with my blood and sweat, carved it into the olive tree where we first met. The symbol of our love everlasting." He bitterly laughed, how could it have been so foolish to think you actually wanted him back. "Do you realize what you have asked me? The only way to move it is to cut it from its roots."

"My only husband knew that, so I guess it makes it really you!" You pushed him off as tears fell from your eyes, your expression now matched his. He stopped altogether, his eyes widened, pupils dilating, and finally, his stare held anything other than guilt. You took a few steps forward, ending right in front of him. His aura of apathy had melted into a warmth that called for you, finally understanding your tricks that never failed to work on him.

"I will fall in love again; over and over again. I don't care how, where, or when, No matter how long it's been, You're mine. Don't tell me you're not the same person, you're always my husband and I've been waiting..." Your hands gripped onto the white fur in his chest, despite just pushing him away, you took him back closer to you. Then your head fell onto his shoulder, you couldn't handle it any longer, all the waiting and mourning had caught up to you, you were in pain too, he wasn't the only one, and you had the right to be angry too. The tone of your shaky voice demanded him to understand, that he had the obligation to stay by your side, you owned half of his soul.

Shadows' body stiffened up, all sorts of feelings were invading his body, and the rough treatment he was receiving as the pleads, no, demands his love, confused him deeply. The somber mood was fighting to settle, yet all your words pushed it off, leaving only space for guilt and connection. He wanted to touch you, but he forgot how to, the memories in his subconscious could do so much; the memory wipe he received difficult him most of the interactions he had, but it wasn't such a problem when all he wanted was to destroy and rule everything; he felt a heavy knot of remorse settle in the pit of her stomach because of that.

Waiting

You had proposed to him many times before he sacrificed himself, half joking half serious. You've been doing that the entire time you worked together for Eggman, even Rouge pushed him a little to accept your hand, saying how she'd love to have another excuse to get a nice gem for your ring. He was very annoyed at you at first, repeatedly telling you that the mission was his only focus and he didn't have time to delve into such useless passions. With time, his heart softened up for you, you grounded him; most of the times he took it too far, you'd slap him as a wake-up call, maybe that's the reason it took him so long to do the correct thing; you weren't scared of him, or showing off your emotions; you had made it very clear you found him attractive, not wasting any occasion to make a comment or a pun; you even backed him up in the fight between him and his prototype, shooting from the distance with your sniper, and assisted him to recover from it after it finished.

He had found a couple of Marias things on the space colony, you took the time to comfort him despite not showing any signs that he needed it, you saw right through him. He didn't realize he had accidentally taken a simple piece of jewelry off her table, he told himself it was for nostalgic reasons, it must've been that. Yet, before everything went down, he surprised himself by handing you the ring after you made another comment about getting married when you went back to earth; he remembered the way your eyes shined, and it took you some time to understand what was going on, you suddenly became timid as you accepted, biting your smile while he put the ring in your finger.

I've been waiting

You stared at the broken moon for so many nights, praying that he made it out alive, that you didn't illusion yourself with a promise that didn't even have the time to begin. You found comfort in playing with the ring he gave you, or the dreams of the two of you together. You had fallen hard, didn't you? You told Rogue the stupid promise you made, earning a bitter laugh from her as she called you an idiot for actually going through with it. Both of you bonded with your grievance for him, meeting him and losing him at the same time gave you a mutual understanding of his character that no one else knew. Still, you missed him, you wanted him, not Rouge. You thought life hated you until you heard the news on TV, or the call of Sonic telling you about how he saw Shadow; you took it upon yourself to find him, yet you missed your opportunity every time, always getting too late.

"Waiting... For you..."

He finally held enough courage to pull you into a kiss, your so-desired kiss. His hands cradle your face with such burning passion, never wanting to let go. Both of your mouths moved in the compass of an imaginary rhythm, one you already knew from how many times it had been done. Your hands went to hold his, all your muscles tensed and the air started to lack, nonetheless, you tried pulling him even closer, wanting to just be one in the same, to not be able to conceive the possibility of being apart from one another ever again. It all felt so familiar it broke your heart, both of you were desperate, longing for the other's presence. Your hearts pounding at the same time, a song long lost now found again. It made him remember that everything was alright, he was here with you, and he would slowly remember, so when the kiss broke off naturally, he pressed his forehead against yours with a shaky breath, he no longer wanted to be gone, he just wanted you.

realizing that there was so much missed potential between kate and immortal makes me lowkey mad ngl. cause i actually HATE them and they make the story so much worse when they could be making it better. lemme just- okay here

starting off with kate, arguably the worse between the two as her power in the series is literally just being canon fodder. she doesn't have any tactics for her abilities like her brother as well.

we all know that kate was raised by the government as her and her brothers powers made their dad go crazy, making it so that the only people in her life was the government and her brother. her brother then LEFT her and she was left with only the government (smth which you do NOT want to be raised by).

then there's her powers and the fact that she feels literally everything that happens to any one of her clones. making them all the real kate. as there's not one kate, she can duplicate a clone and then die, making the clone she duplicated be the next real kate. they would also feel the death of whatever happened to ANY of the clones that die.

yeah that's gotta fucking hurt. then there's the fact that she most likely can't retire unless she fakes her death (which fucking SUCKS but also they do it SO WRONG in the series) as the government probably wouldn't allow it (i feel like this was kinda the same boat rex was in before he yknow... escaped using... certain means but he's not in it when he joins teen team, at least as far as i know).

so lets put this up. she can feel the deaths of ALL of her clones, she's literally just government property, they probably won't just let her retire. "oh but she retired with the immortal!!" yeah but then there's the case of when should a hero retire? when they can't do the job anymore? When they've had enough? in battle? when is it possible for someone to retire?

when can kate retire? she probably felt like faking her death was the easiest way. NOW does it excuse that? does it excuse her saying she 'saved the world' that she 'put her life on the line' when she didnt? no. hell no. rex and rae were the only two in the fight against the lizard league who actually had their lives on the line.

so what couldve been done about kate? well first off they couldve made the fact that she feels everything her clones do a LOT more obvious and shown her bonding with immortal more. they couldve shown the trauma that she faced from the hero life and guess what? THAT WOULD BE FINE. one of the major things about invincible is how they show what the hero life is actually like. but with kate they dont do that and it makes her unlikable. it makes her REALLY unlikable and has her come off as entitled, bratty, and selfish.

then instead of having her faking her death with the lizard league they could've had her come back instead and maybe get mad at rex or rae for not helping her with her fight and mention that "hey if i was actually there i wouldve died" which would be a lot more reasonable to get mad at. as if she DIDNT have that backup she WOULD HAVE DIED and while neither rex or rae were in the position to help her, it was because they weren't fighting as a team.

this could be kates first realization of 'i dont think i wanna do this hero stuff anymore'. make her more anxious about going out, more of a wreck as she tries to keep things together only to end up snapping at the people around her. then show the immortal helping her keep it together as yeah, them being the only ones in the group who have DIED (actually died) would make them bond.

okay then we have the immortal number 1 fraud and what not. i think its pretty clear that the show wanted to do two things with the immortal.

show how traumatized he was after what happened with omni man

show that he wasn't what he used to be and that its affecting everyone around him negatively

and to some extent they do this but they don't make you sympathize with him. after all how can you sympathize with the guy who's actively making things go to shit and then DOESNT do anything about it, or take responsibility. it would piss ANYONE and i mean ANYONE off.

he's pretty much never won a fight, all he does it yell at people and antagonize them (especially our main character mark who DOES get things done), never truly takes action (when mark yells AND threatens cecil in front of him basically), and overall is a pretty shit leader.

so what could've been done? show him struggling, struggling to keep it together. have him drop the whole 'stoic leader' bs just for a minute. have him do it around kate who is also struggling. show them bonding. show him more shaken up and unsure of things each and every time he does and really (i mean REALLY) show it. dont just say 'oh ive given up too much' show that each and every time he comes back more of his stoic-ness drops or just SOMETHING. because right now the only 'personality' he's shown is just being an asshole.

there's so much that could be done with the trauma both of them have and yet the writers dont. almost like they want us to hate the characters (which idk if they do but it is going towards that direction). and if they did i can totally see that because for how good invincibles writing is (especially with writing hate-able characters like angstrome) the writing with them is just so... so bad and i cant stress that enough and it makes me wanna tear my hair out.

ALSO THIS IS NOT DEFENDING THEM!! I JUST THINK THAT THERE WAS MISSED POTENTIAL IN THEIR WRITING!!!
