Whenever he laid awake in bed after—as his lip healed, as the skin of his knuckles stopped pulling and stinging where they’d met Steve’s face—he felt those phantom fingers.  Steve’d just...touched Billy with the tips of his fingers, pushing him away, and Billy’d wanted to lean in, yank Steve Harrington in like he had on the basketball court, breathe in his air.
