Okay, preliminary thoughts, after first time watching season 3 of Heartstopper.

SPOILERS!!!

(Some of these are just me screaming and probably lack context, i just wrote this really fast whilst watching, and then forgot what else was happening.)

MY BABIES ARE BACK!

- Not me doing a happy dance and squeeing with joy when Isaac says “I’m not in the mood to give my friends a vocab lesson.” SAME!

- Crying already.

- TORI!

- Nellie, like a good doggo, waiting for her dad outside the bathroom, really got me. That look!!!!!

- I loved Hailey Atwell as aunt Diane, but I still missed Olivia Colman so much… she made too much of an impact as Sarah, and you can really feel her absence.

- Screaming at the fact that they got Annette Badland (from Ted Lasso and Big Boys) to be Darcy’s gran!!! I love her, she’s perfect.

- OMG The Teachers ™

- If episode 3 was already getting to me and then episode 4 was super sad, I was still unprepared for the scene where Nick cries in Tao’s arms. (Something something Nick in his superhero outfit trying to be Charlie’s superhero, but also needing to cry, will delve more into that in my full episode analysis…)

- I weep every time I reread the comic when Charlie goes to talk to his parents, but hearing everything out of Charlie’s mouth made it even worse. I’m a mess…

- I honestly looooooved how they did episode 4, with the quick catch-up flashback structure and two perspectives. I didn’t think it would work, but it was great.

- It took me a whole 5 seconds to realize that when Nick said “vintage camera” he was referring to the HANDYCAM that Will’s dad used, and I honestly never thought I would feel the urge to punch Nick Nelson but I did…

- “I hope that when you get back you don’t feel like you have to lie to us anymore.” LOOOOOOOVED that whole home video they did for Charlie, perfect vibe, it was so nicely done. But that line really got me… Isaac was perfect this season.

- More crying…

- OMG the Charlie painting!!! All of Elle’s paintings! I wonder who made those really? Whose style is it? Have they ever talked about it??? I need to know!

- “I hope I get a soul”, “I hope I get mental health”. I didn’t know I could ask for these things for Christmas…

- Imogen was hilarious and so beautifully developed this season. Much like Nick, she’s going through a whole self-discovery phase, but hers is not as perfect.

- HENRYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!

- “Is this the boyfriend?” I need to talk soooo hard about the contrast between the two families. Nick has a whole family that loved him, except that he doesn’t get along with his brother and he has an absent dad, whilst Charlie has a difficult relationship with his family, but his sister really seems to get him. You can see the contrasting environment at Christmas, with the disjointed vibes at the Spring household, and the very warm and welcoming vibes at the Nelson household…

- Every time Tori pops us out of nowhere, it’s perfect. Love the spooked look on David’s face.

- Dysphoria talk!

- “Spare us the details”, “No! I want all the details!” I am Isaac and Isaac is me.

- I watched the trailer… I watched the clips… but I NEVER expected that Michael would be so FUCKING PERFECT. I need more of him. “Beautiful chaos.” I was in tears.

- “I don’t want to keep hurting you.” IMOGEEEEEEEN. Love this whole storyline. Can’t wait for more of them.

- Drunk Charlie!!! He’s so horny. Whilst drunk Nick is a little sad. And drunk Imogen is a bit of both. I’m more of a drunk Tara: extra anxious.

- As someone who just experienced a major meltdown at work, over which I’m still embarrassed, I love how Tara also went from “I want to die” to “IDGAF about anything” because that is the right response.

- The radio show scene proves that Yasmin Finney’s voice should be on everything. I could listen to her read scientific papers to me. Does anyone know if I can make her my satnav voice?

- Sincerely disappointed that Elle’s mum did not kick down the door and barge in and slap the interviewer, whilst Mr Argent tried to hold her back and Tao filmed the whole thing.

- But I wrote down everything that Elle said, because that’s going into my arsenal. “Trans people are not a debate”. PERIODT.

- Love how we see Nick hanging out with other people more, especially Tara, and how encouraging Tara is. Their friendship is so lovely.

- I honestly thought that Tao would say “I’m improving, I might even become the next… Elle Argent.”

- I never thought I would identify so hard with a fictional bisexual teen boy, but in the comic, and now here, when Nick talks about how much of his true self he was repressing before he figured out he was bi… I feel that.

- The whole uni road trip was perfect, but it felt too short. Also I wish we would have gotten the scene in which Nick and Charlie facetime and Nick gets a preview of Naked Charlie ™. *Was not prepared

- A little disappointed in Charlie’s rock band outfit, it looked nothing like the one in the comic… also, after seeing Joe Locke as Teen in “Agatha All Along”, I would have killed to see him in all black tight clothes. Nick’s head would have exploded, though…

- Although this season was definitely hornier, it wasn’t quite horny enough. Here’s hoping that season 4 (which will definitely happen) will be the horniest ever.

do you think she's from hatchetfield? went to a different school from zoey/hailey and just never met? or is she from elsewhere...and why on earth would he move to hf LOL

i was also wondering if u have thoughts on umm. why shes with greenpeace. because paul tgwdlm was not incorrect about greenpeace being a really ineffectual way to save the planet. i have a really autism heavy interpretation of this situation but would love to hear urs......

what do u think her dream job was in school. did she want to work with animals or in research or like. obviously she wants to make people care but i dont necessarily think she Aspired to giving lectures on street corners. he knows he probably isn't the ideal person for that (autism) (though that does make her very. shameless. about promoting it)

but like. she definitely wanted to be doing fieldwork right. at least for a bit. girl who needs to be a guy frolicking in the woods. i also think he would maybe enjoy running little nature education programs for kids....... or at least shes the one w all the little fun facts and identification skills. would make a great hiking guide or whatever she's very sure-footed in nature + confident in her sense of direction (hailey is hopeless abt this even in hatchetfield where shes lived her Whole Life + zoey can follow a map but does not know where north is. there is a reason harmony holds the leash shes the only one who knows where theyre going). sorry. rambling. i care her

when i was first writing my harmony character analysis i did a lot of research on like environmental engineering. and i think she does work like that, as in. science. bc i think. okay. i think she might be worried about physical work not being Enough. like she needs to be educating people and what better way to do that than to sit in a lab or do research etc etc etc. She DOES volunteer for lots of things i believe. she loves farms and Does visit perky's buds a lot. to buy weed & visit ziggy. harmony & emma meeting when??? harmonemma i miss you...my ex mutual came up w it i think but they blocked me so i'm taking over. some other time

1. nobody stone me for this but ,, sans undertale ,, looking back on his prime makes me realize how mischaracterized he was and still kinda is 😭 a lot of his portrayals are very Silly to me and i cannot get the image of that glowing blue tongue out of my mind

Watched new the little mermaid movie and I have a LOT of thought! Enough for a whole post!!

Little mermaid thoughts LETS GOOOO

-I LOVED IT FIRSTLY but I do have a few nitpicks

-Firstly I don’t like the cgi animals, they look bad, I get they don’t wanna do the cartoony look for all the fish, but I feel like at least for flounder they should’ve so we could’ve connected to him more, Sebastian was fine, so was scuttle but flounder really got the short end of the stick

-The lighting wasn’t that bad, sure there was some scenes that maybe should have been a tad brighter but it really wasn’t as bad as everyone was saying

-Hailey Bailey singing is INCREDIBLE, I was worried that she would be able to sing well, but not be able to sing in CHARACTER, but goddamnit she KILLS it man! You can really FEEL her emotions and she does so well

-ALSO SHES SO PRETTY???? LIKE OMG???

-Sebastian and King Triton don’t really have as much of a friendly dynamic as I’d like, King -Triton especially doesn’t seem as friendly towards him compared to the original, so Sebastian’s quips seem like ACTUAL complaining instead of something more innocent yk??

-Also because they cut out the song where the daughters sing and Ariel is missing we don’t really get that Sebastian is a conductor/composer so his part during ‘kiss the girl’ doesn’t flow as well imo, bc like how would he know this? He doesn’t know anything about music

-They don’t introduce Eric’s statue, so it’s appearance later on doesn’t make sense unless you’ve watched the original, something I don’t really like about disney remakes

-And Ariel finds it BEFORE under the sea, which brings two issues, one is that the statue is supposed to be a gift from flounder TO Ariel, which strengthens their relationship, and two it makes her leaving at the end of under the sea make no sense, since she left TO see the statue

-OH AND UNDER THE SEA WAS AMAZING, I love how they did their own thing instead of copying the og, makes it way more memorable and it looked rlly good!!!

-ALSO ARIEL JOINING IN ON IT WAS GREAT!!!

-OH, and whilst part of your world was amazing, I feel like Sebastian should have seen it. Since he wasn’t there, he doesn’t know much about Ariel’s motive and her desire for going to the surface, they didn’t have to add all the slapstick that was in the original but just having him there instead of him come after would strengthen their relationship a lot more, especially to those who haven’t seen the original

-I like them setting up how Eric and Ariel are two sides or the same coin, both wanting more from their lives and wanting what they can’t have

-when Eric goes to save Max, I think the original does it better, him jumping from the boat and going BACK onto the ship shows his compassion than him about to leave the ship but going back for max

-When Eric sees Ariel with his blurred vision I feel like it was a bit TOO blurry, in the original the og Ariel had this ethereal aura to her from his vision that added to his whole fantasy of her, that the remake doesn’t really capture due to how blurry it was

-When King Triton destroying all of Ariel’s things was good, not as powerful as the original but still amazing, but one nitpick I have is that Triton tells her “never leave again” and doesn’t LOOK at her. In the original he doesn’t say anything, but does look at her crying and you can see the guilt in his eyes.

-Also, the whole, “your mom was killed by humans thats why i forbid you going there” feels a bit??? Unnecessary?? Idk how to describe it, I think because the original had this sort of queer undertone in it, like the original fairytale had, and I feel like the line is removing that a bit?? The whole humans are barbarians thing feels unnecessary too. I feel if they just stuck with the whole “you’re a mermaid he’s a human” thing would’ve been better, no need to over complicate things yk?? Also it gave said human-mermaid line less power imo

-Flotsam and Jetsam aren’t really in the movie, they don’t tell Ariel about Ursula, which is double edge sword I’ll explain later, but them not being in presence makes the ‘kiss the girl’ scene and them dying and Ursula being pissed about it less powerful imo

-How the double edge sword thing does come with a good side, of course, Ursula being the one to tell Ariel gives her more manipulative side strength, and it adds to Ariel’s trust of Ursula, her being related to her adds to that as well, you understand WHY she doesn’t immediately leave yk??

-NOW URSULA’S MAKEUP, im gonna say it, it’s bad, they didn’t go far enough with the drag queen look and it really hinders it imo, she just looks boring and not menacing at all which sucks because the actress really gives it her all

-POOR UNFORTUNATE SOULS, it’s an amazing song of course, but they do change the lyrics to be less about Eric which makes more sense for this movie so I won’t fault it for that

-They did remove the ‘BODY LANGUAGE’ lyric tho so points off,

-And the song is a lot shorter, which isnt good considering PUS was originally a 5 minute song cut to 3 minutes THEN NOW cut to 2, hinders it a lot I feel

-I LOVE THE VISUALS THO, love them doing their own thing and I love how glowy Ursula’s tentacles are, I do wish they kept the lil hologram thing from the original, could’ve added a whole lot to it!

-Them replacing Ursula’s henchmen forcible shutting Sebastian and flounder from telling Ariel to not trust Ursula to just flounder shushing Sebastian isn’t great, makes Ursula less scary imo

-They removed the scroll, and replaced it with her putting her scale in with blood, more intense which I like and removes the question of “if she could sign the scroll then why couldnt she write to Eric” thing the original had

-The transformation sequel isn’t as flashy as the og, the imagery of her tail splitting in two and forming legs was iconic,

-Also Sebastian and flounder not helping her to the surface is something I didn’t like, hinders their relationship

-The whole ‘Forgetting she has to kiss Eric’ thing felt unnecessary? I don’t think the original had it but I could be misremembering

-At first I didn’t like Ariel not immediately meeting Eric but I grew to like it ngl, her seeing the town was really good, and her song is also neat!

-The moment she realizes she cant talk is GOLDEN

-Her bonding with Eric in the little trinket area was SUCH a nice addition, it really strengthens their bond together

-Also the “my little mermaid” thing ADORABLE

-OH OH ALSO, eric and ariel have such autism energy I love it sooo much

-Them going on the town was SOOOO cute, I love them so muchhhhhh, and the dress Ariel wears is really cute, I do wish she had more things to wear it’s really just one outfit and her wedding gown which isn’t that different from her regular outfit, in comparison to the og which had her in a lotta outfits, especially with how pretty hailey bailey is?? She would’ve killed it!!

-OH ERICS SONG IS SO GOOD??? I wasn’t expecting to like it so much but the way it mirrors part of your world is SO good????? And his voice????? Incredible

-Oh i love Sebastian and scuttles friendship it’s really sweet

-also scuttles song wasn’t that annoying?? Idk it was cute and fun and Sebastian joining in was cute!

-They cut out the Poor unfortunate souls reprise which Is a huge let down I really liked it!!!! They use the music for it but she doesn’t SING!!!!

-Vanessa is SO pretty??? Exactly like the og too!!

-I feel like Eric being under control should’ve been hammered in more though, the subtle vibes doesn’t work as well for it imo

-Ariel being the one to stab Ursula wasn’t a good choice imo, the of gave Eric more character, and it would work even better in this movie since theyre so similar. She saved him and now he gets to save her yk?

-Also killing Ursula didnt look that great, you couldnt even tell she was stabbed it had no punch

-When Ursula takes Ariel away she doesn’t say anything to Eric like in the original she just leaves, which is a bit disappointed, they do a lotta things that rob Ursula of her iconic personality

-I think we should’ve seen Ariel get back her legs like in the movie, cutting that I feel like, loses a lot, especially with the bond with her father

-No 80s dress, sad.

-I think that’s everything????? I’m rewatching the original movie tomorrow so I’m sure I’ll have a few more things to add, especially when the 2023 movie goes onto disney plus

-Overall the movie was really good, Haliey Baliey stole the show and the visuals were really nice, special shoutouts to the visuals for Ursula’s tentacles, triton’s triton and the scenes for kiss the girl and under the sea, VERY pretty,

-All the voice actors were great ngl,

-The movie didn’t feel too long either, the stuff they added was good and moved along nicely, didn’t even feel like 2 hours yk???

Lol the chopping her hair off is some conspiracy theory that’s been made up I guess.

She chews you out while her little entourage of sorority sisters giggle and whisper to each other behind her, some of them seeming to enjoy seeing Hailey so out of sorts. Hailey knows she’s losing their respect the longer she keeps you around, but she can’t stay away from you either. The loss of control is infuriating.

“Soooo you really wouldn’t mind if I… fucked them instead?” You point to a random partygoer, one who looked like a bigger loser than you by Hailey’s standards.

Hailey looks like steam’s about to start pouring from her ears. One of her “friends,” laughs openly, cut short by Hailey’s glare turning towards her.

“Hold on a minute,” she hisses through a forced smile to her clique, “I need to talk some sense into them.”

Hailey grabs your arm, nails digging into the fabric, and drags you somewhere more private to ask you just what the fuck you think you’re doing.

Halloween 2018 in Los Angeles. A fan posted a shaky selfie with you dressed as Velma from Scooby Doo. You were a little unrecognizable at the time as the fans knew you had your hair dyed for another color for a role. But that time, you wore a brown bob wig that matches the cartoon character. You also have identical glasses and clothes. For the selfie, you posed with your magnifying glass and pretended to examine the fan’s costume.

Fans were happy to catch a glimpse of your costume since you didn’t post about it. On the other side of stan twt. Someone posted something:

Due to the same theme of costumes, fans were quick to connect that you and Jin are probably together romantically. They quickly assume that you two went for a more “lowkey” costume, with Jin possibly going for Shaggy while you go for Velma. But their thoughts were proven wrong when another fan get to take a photo with the actor.

It was later learned that Jin was Scooby-Doo. His fans found it both funny and cute. After collecting more information and seeing more photos, people realized that your other friends went for the same-themed costume. Donny was Shaggy. Hailey joined in as Daphne while her boyfriend was Fred. Paparazzi got photos of you with Hailey leaving a bar in LA. You even got to chat with one of the photographers as they follow you with their camera.

“Lookin’ cute, Y/N!”

Greg, the paparazzi you were cool with, greeted you as you and your friends walked to your car. You were only with Hailey as the three men were already in the car.

“Thanks, Greg!” you smiled before asking him. “No costumes?”

You and your manager were pacing fast as the flashes of lights follow you two. You cannot even turn to look at Greg.

“Nothing. But I see you went Mystery Inc. with your gang.”

You were about to respond when another photographer screamed something that caught your attention, “How did you choose your costumes?!”

You laughed, “We bet about it.”

More questions followed but they remained unanswered as you and Hailey hurriedly enter your vehicle. Although you and Jin didn’t go for a ‘couple’ costume for that year’s Halloween, the fans still saw it as one of the first signs of your romantic relationship with your co-star since 2018 was the same year you began hanging out with Donny and their other friends.
