So after watching all of Jentry Chau Vs The Underworld in the past 2 days I've quite a bit to say

This show needed to be two seasons long, I feel half my critiques would probably not exist if it got the runtime it deserved

Kit had the most interesting character arc and was done the most dirty of everyone by the lack of runtime later in the season and also the characters around him??? Can everyone stop treating Kit like shit for two seconds please??

I at multiple points went "God this feels like arcane levels of Greek tragedy" so it has that going for it

If it has ended as a season 1 on episode 9 (I think? The episode where she's out on the field and Cheng revived his daughter then the portals are opened) it could have been a really solid set up for a season 2, but unfortunately the next final episodes feel incredibly jam-packed and rushed with no room to breathe

The music and fight scenes were arguably the best part of the show, there was some really interesting "camera" work too

I didn't like how Michael basically played with 3 girls feelings for the whole show, particularly sorry to girl from the last episode who doesn't even get a name as far as I can tell

(also the way he went "and Kit did you love him too??" as some kind of snap back to Jentry like HE DIDNT LITERALLY JUST DIE MICHAEL CAN YOU STFU FOR TWO SECONDS NOT THE TIME)

Michael kinda just sucked? Like I wanted to like him but he's very meh to me and I'm sorry but the reveal of him actually being really bad at the flute just, threw me off completely especially because instruments are expensive!! He didn't buy it on a whim, the whole thing is he's supposed to have this deep passion for music but like it's not really reflected at all?? There's not even any conversations between him and Jentry about music outside band tryouts

And him having powers I guess could have been set up for a season 2 but we end this season really conclusively? All the plot threads and character arcs wrapped up. Like if anything I could see a spin off with him maybe but- like I don't want one, I just could see that happening

Actually to go back a paragraph for a second, that's something the show does a few times where it drops these very sudden interests of the characters and pretends they had them all along?? Like Jentry and baton twirling, like come on wouldn't it have made more sense if she got sought out by the school dance team or something?? Or just have her main spirit fighting weapon be a baton!! Show her having genuine interest in that aspect of spirit fighting and then have it reflect later in school? Like why did these girls see a video of Jentry dancing and go "Hey she could probably baton twirl!" that makes no sense!

The animation was really great! More than that even, I love the art style and art direction this show has, it really gave me some major inspiration! I want to draw some fanart really badly!!

Okay this a major IN MY OPINION, low-key I think the show might have been more interesting if it was just set in Seoul for the whole time, I preferred Jentrys friends there, I much preferred the environments and the colours the art direction had in the setting of Seoul

I didn't really care for Texas in the show and It made the feelings of her later questioning if she should return or not be hollow to me the viewer, because I was like OF COURSE SHE SHOULD

Stella is a character I have complicated feelings on! I really did not care for the minuet of Michael's introduction at school her getting weighed down as just "the girlfriend" character and how Jentry wasn't allowed form a meaningful connection to her until after Michael and her broke up, hell Stella basically gets forgotten by the plot until the last 4ish episodes, and IN THOSE she's a REALLY fun and strong character! I love how she started learning seals and was such a a big part of them winning that final fight at the school, which frankly I don't think she gets enough credit for

And while I find her blushing at Jentrys other friend cute it just makes me sigh because now I realize the show totally could have just done a "Fuck the boys" Jentry x Stella ship and I would have been totally down

Actually low-key I think my ideal is Kit and their Girlfriend Jentry and Jentrys Girlfriend Stella ((and I guess maybe Stella's boyfriend Michael if he got written better, but meh don't expect me to include him in the polycule if I ever write Fics/draw art for this show))

Also speaking of Kit god I would love them to be genderfluid or I guess it to be acknowledged? As queer and not just, because their a skin walker. Like you can read them that way because of them being a skin walker demon but like if it was acknowledged in the show after making Jentry's skin he experimented a little with how he looked as Kit and his sense of fashion and style!!

Idk I would have loved it, I have some strong feelings on how this show had hints of queerness but never actually acknowledged that queerness besides I guess Jentrys fake parents being like "So do you have a boyfriend?? ..or a girlfriend??" Which I mean, I guess, diversity win the cat spirits pretending to be your dead parents don't care if your gay!

I was very invested in the mysteries of the Chau family for the whole run I just wish that they had time to breathe, we went from one revelation to the next and each one hit just that little bit less because there was no down time given between them.

Okay overall though, it's going to be rotating in my mind like a microwave for the next two weeks I can tell

I don't know if it's strong enough to stick around as a major fixation but maybe a minor one where I occasionally get drawn back over the characters who had so much potential to me

I'd say a solid like 8/10

Yeah I know I just did all that whining and complaining

But I did genuinely enjoy most of the viewing experience and the ideas behind it

It was good, I think other people should give it a try, it deserves a lot more love and attention for sure

my oldest oldest OC is Diana, she's a sailor moon self-insert who's the princess of the entire galaxy (as opposed to usagi's pathetic reign over juuust the solar system lmao) and she was sailor star. To be fair thgouh, I did make her before i saw season 5 and that season ruined my entire lore and I kind of dropped sailor moon for a while after that akjfhkajsf but when i was 9 or 10 i started making this sailor moon season 6 comic where my oc was the main character obviously but i was also obsessed w like 5 other certoons and anime so it just all meshed together. also all the other characters wouldnt stop commenting on my character being sooo tomboyish and how she was seen as one of the boys and one conflict was her not wanting to be girly when she transforms... I WONDER WHAT THAT MEANT FOR ME.........🏳️‍⚧️

my oldest OC that i actually have like. well recorded inspo and history of (drew him lots, still use him sometimes) is saph.

he was my sonic self insert at first. in the very beginning he was sonic's long lost sister ♥ back then he used to work for eggman. also i only knew about sonic from sonic x and only the first 2 seasons existed in germany at the time i watched it, so i thought 1) shadow is one of eggmans minions 2) shadow is an ugly jerk and i hated him lol.

everyone always confusing the giiirl for a boooy and i genuinely got some hate for my character design bc i shipped him w shadow and wow u cant have a homo OCxCanon ship ewww lmao but oh well.

someone once dared me to do a genderbend and then i just changed the color from white to black and they were angry i didnt do a proper genderbend. while the anti version of the character was a proper girly girl with pink and sparkles and smiles and rainbows and skirts and frilly tops and stupid hairstyle. and ppl complained the anti looked more like a genderbend. (below is the "anti". i can't find the genderbend anymore)

for me it just was my first crack in the egg bc hey. i don't want to be preppy, i want to be emo. but im not allowed bc girls are not meant to be edgy. and im notally not projecting on the boy version of this character more than the girl one. nope.

with every year i reduced the hair pieces at the front lmao but ya after my egg cracked i focused more on making him cool andkeeping him gender neutral. Then i used him to prcess a lot of my ongoing hardships in life. the redesign also being bc of a big shift (well. yeah me transitioning socially lmao)

he's unfortunately associated a lot w that painful time so i don't use him a lot anymore

Throughback Thursday aka I go over my mains during the dsmp

Many of my followers might not know this but i have swapped through multiple "mains". I still wouldn't say I have a dsmp "main", because I've always had phases and even when I did, I've always tried to follow people who "mained" characters I didn't follow as much so I knew what was up. My original "main" was actually C! Fundy. I fucking adored him. I was a big C! Fundywastaken shipper and if you look through my fundywastaken tag you can see the whole ass wedding canonicity saga. I loved C! Fundy so much from late season 1 (when I joined the fandom) (aka before November 16th) to early season 2 (aka post November 16th) and I was really hoping he'd get to be in a spot light for a bit with Ghostbur. I also really likes C! Niki and C! Bad around this time.

After that, I orbited C! Tubbo a lot (although I've always kept up with C! Clingy to some degree) as well C! Ranboo, C! Eret and C! Puffy (IM STILL MAD ABOUT CC! PUFFY RETCONING HER CHARACTER BEING A MOM BECAUSE THE FANDOM FORCED HER INTO THE STEREOTYPICAL MOM ROLE. i really likes c! Puffy as a mom because even though she was a maternal figure. She had such wine aunt energy and felt like such a fleshed out person to me) (also got really into c! Puffychu for a bit)

And then exile happened and C! Tommy maining began (<- FUN FACT I USED TO FUCKING **HATE** C! WILBUR 😭 I thought he was pretty abusive during Pogtopia and I still do think that C! Tommy scape goated C! Techno a bit because he didn't wanna acknowledge how badly Wilbur missed him up <- that being said even though i didnt like c! Wilbur. I was still always of the opinion, he had the potential to get better and i always felt like he'd come back later eventually).

After exile, I became a pretty big C! Techno main and (c! Emerald enjoyer) even if I didn't always agree with what he was doing (<- tbf I've always watched C! Techno, probably helped he didn't stream as much as the others). Around this time and after Doomsday, I got pretty into C! Sam and Ponk as well. And post C! Tommy dying and lore slowing down, I got really into C! Quackity (although I've always been attached to him because a close friend of mine at the time basically mained him). And then the C! Wilbur revival happened and I started getting more into him and I think he was my last proper "main" before the lore dropped off and the CC! Dream stuff started coming out

Overall all the dsmp characters hold a special space in my heart because I was pretty into almost all of then at some point (I didn't mention this because I don't consider this long enough to be a phase but I did have a week or two where I fixated a lot on C! George and C! Hannah). And idk, all of them hold a place in my heart and I also think half of them suck ass as people but I think that's the appeal for me

Bi Buck confirmed in canon holy shit fucking finally! Get fucked deniers!!!! Also while I don't necessarily like Tommy's character cause of past seasons, I'll accept him as a plot device to help the GA finally see and understand Buck is Bi

Jealous Buck was hilariously adorable (I could practically hear a puppy whine when Eddie was asking if he was free so he could watch Chris 🤣)(also Eddie in sunglasses almost the entire episode was a whole ass mood 😂)

The bachelor segment was funny and I loved Josh and Maddie being so excited (also the fact Maddie sent the 118 so they could see what was happening 😂)

The woman accidentally killing her son cause of her brain bleed was sad but it didn't really hit me? Like oh my god, this woman killed her son without realizing it and it's super awful, but I just thought "Damn, that sucks 😕" no real strong emotions about it but I know not every emergency had to emotionally destroy you

HARRY!!! Oh my god he's grown up so much??? Holy shit I barely recognized him! And all his scenes with Athena were amazing. I also loved Bobby seeing how Harry made Athena some waffles, her favorite, he immediately knew something was up. King shit 👑 Plus the callback to the stop on the highway and talking about the unfairness of pressures put on everyone in life especially Black People was incredible. Also Harry calling her a great mom and her reaction to that just made me 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺 It reminded me of when that Jeffrey guy kidnapped Harry and told Athena she wasn't a mom who's a cop, she's a cop who just so happens to be a mother. WELL SHE PROVED YOU WRONG DIDNT SHE ASSHOLE!!!!! GET FUCKED IN HELL!!!!

Alrighty! The 100th episode was amazing!!! And my true score of it is 9/10

Didn't care for Tommy's character cause of past seasons (-1/2 point) and didn't really feel the horror of the woman accidentally killing her son (-1/2). I usually wouldn't let emergencies like that influence my score, but they way they tried to go back to it and have you feel emotions I just didn't feel like was a tad jarring and pulled me from the episode a bit when everything else going on made me actually feel stuff.

So now that Buck being confirmed Bi is out of the way...

i suck at ranking things and don't enjoy it one bit because i don't do faves, im too fluid in my tastes and can't ever pick criteria but! let's try in no particular order

1. Kieta Hatsukoi

i think im in the habit of dropping things from my fave lists as time goes by and especially if they're well beloved by other people like "okay then I'll focus on this less talked about thing, my bby seems to be getting enough attention"; how and why I work that way im not sure but I do and by that logic kieta hatsukoi should not be on my list but it's an honorary member - I've watched it twice (with maybe a bit of skipping which is still a lot cause I don't really do rewatches) and I've read most of the manga. it's just so..easy to like, for a lack of a better phrase. it's inoffensive and suited to be a comfort piece of media in whichever form you decide to enjoy it (and it'd make an amazing anime, i guarantee people would be all over it)

the live adaptation also takes the events of the manga and mixes them around big time but it still makes sense and it keeps you a bit more on your toes when consuming the other version, whether you watch the show or read the manga first

it's also a show I've recommended passionately and I successfully made my then new acquaintance watch which I'm a bit smug about lmao

sweet characters, supportive friends, funny, light and warm 💖

2. The End of the World With You

this showwww, i dont know if i can call it a fave since i havent once come back to it, i dont feel the need to go watch compilations of my guys or anything and i acknowledge there were some elements i found a bit lacking but! it's amazing. idc, this show gave me proper complex relationship where i still end up rooting for a couple of people who were toxic towards each other and did nootttt know how to handle a relationship; the dynamic is compelling, the premise is interesting enough, there are heavy scenes and plot points but it is embedded with hope

it also helped me bond a bit with a mutual i like <3

i just am thankful for it existing out there in the world, it served fucked up relationship (that i root for wholeheartedly), sexy times, found family, amazing acting and it didnt have most of the chaos an apocalyptic piece would usually be dealing with

3. BL Drama no Shuen ni Narimashita: Crank Up Hen

listen. we're getting some pretty good jbls this year but i said this will be jbl of the year and i still think it's a solid nominee.

the romance is tooth-achingly sweet. the leads are adorable. the acting is perfect and manages to deliver the comedy very well. it's cute, it's fun, it knows exactly what it wants to achieve and works with its timeframe to do it. the side characters do not affect the plot negatively, the hurdles the couple needs to overcome do not feel excessive. if you happen to yell at them for being silly, it's lovingly. also we got more chemistry than i expected! and it was really good. it also set up an example for ''japanese actors working on bls'' (found the things like shooting promos and the portrayed bts process really fun) so now watching 25 ji Ajisaka de i can't help but think of this show

4. Utsukushii Kare

my relationship with this show suffers from the "enough people love it" thing as well, i think i rewatched it or skipped through the first season? and i enjoyed the second one as well but honestly it feels not only as if enough people love it but that they love it and get it way better than i do. i didnt watch the movie out of fear of having to say bye to my guys but i also feel more disconnected from it now. im sure its still a gem of a movie and im so so happy we got two seasons and a movie, the show and the cast deserve it!!

there is just so much beauty in their yearning for each other and the misunderstandings, the downright stupid decisions they make..they all just work in making this a neat story of love that blooms from something different, from worship and the desire to be seen and to be held and to be possesed. they're wild, i love them

5. Kinou Nani Tabeta?

this show i watched years before i got into bl and i didn't even know it was a bl when i started it lol, i was like "ohhh, theyre a couple? cool"

i rewatched the first season, watched the special and the movie, started the second season and kinda got stuck there, again with hte "i dont want to let them go"..and now ive lost momentum and ive got basically a whole season ahead (i started it when it was airing 😭)

these two love each other so much and support each other in every way that matters, my heart melts at every sweet gesture and even though the show portrays some real struggles they have to deal with, its still a very funny and light show. the best word to describe it would be "charming" - you see this couple's everyday life, you see how they came to be and what challenges they face, how they overcome them and you're left with no doubt in your mind they will grow old together, well loved and taken care of

now I wanted ti turn this into a top 10 but I felt like I was being disingenuous cause I can't overcome my need to talk about underrated shows rather than pick my faves..I can't make a faves list without turning it into a diverse recommendation list so I'll just. stop here.

and the lift spat him out,

he cant quite gather himself,

later discovered a hunger,

he could now control the lifts,

warp how they moved,

where they moved,

he took advantage of this,

lured people in,

asking them to hold the doors,

placing "out of order" signs as he walked in,

hed chat with the passangers,

and they wouldnt notice the lift not stopping,

when they did and began to panic,

he would become a reflection,

no longer physical,

only in the mirrors,

and he fed on their terror.

he had heard of the institute,

and knew that they would know,

theyd know what happened to him,

who he had become,

what he had become,

he didnt want it to stop,

but he was still curious,

he wanted awnsers,

walking in to the building,

delighted to see lifts,

he hopped on,

he felt watched,

but safe,

walking to a desk,

he went to give his statement,

the man talking to him,

calling himself head archivist,

said it had to be recorded on tape,

reluctantly he agreed,

disliking the man he gave a statement to,

he had too many eyes,

even if he couldnt see them,

he felt them all around,

pushing him,

and he told his story.

later in the week,

he came back to the institute,

during his first visit,

he noticed the distrust in the air,

and it made him hungry,

people in the institue were wary,

easy targets,

he fed on some,

maybe three in the next month,

statement givers,

someone from the library,

on their lunch break.

he was watching the archivist,

waiting for him to come close,

but he seemed to sense something,

he avoided the lifts,

despite sometimes clearly needing them,

eventually the achivist gave away,

maybe forgetting his paranoia,

probably not by his own choice,

he stepped in the lift,

doors closing,

it appeared in the mirror,

hazy at first,

then adjusting to physicality,

the archivist dropped his things,

stacks of files and loose papers,

it talked to him calmly,

asking about his day,

how his research was going,

recognicing him,

the archivist started to speak,

words dying on his tongue,

the lift stopped,

doors opened,

and he hurriedly stepped out,

it stared at him in confusion,

not having told the lift to stop,

let alone let him go,

yet here enoch was,

alone in its lift,

somehow stuck to it.

so hes now bound to the institute lifts by the hand of jurgen leitner, and the seven lamps of architechture by john ruskin. i imagine this all took place somewhere around or between season 1 and 2. he lurks in the lifts until MAG158, as peter lukas releases the notthem from the tunnels, he is freed as well. its unclear if he survives when the eyepocalypse starts. before MAG158, he decides to get to know some of the staff a litte better. mainly martin, who was off doing research at the time of the incident and therefor didnt know what had happened, and elias, who made it very clear he wasnt threatened by him, quite the opposite, in fact. (*cough* they might fuck) jon doesnt trust him at any point, and only goes in the lifts on the days his joint pain is at its worst, and if hes accompanied by martin. on those occations, enoch leaves them alone. melanie also still uses the lifts, but refuses to get to know him. he leaves her alone, most of the time. the others dont use the lifts. the one-off statement givers, researchers, and other people who werent aware of him end up disappearing..

The biggest WTF for me is when book fans are like well Louis is a liar in the books about why xyz didn't happen in the show and I'm like well if he's lying about everything then why am I watching this show?? are you gonna retell the entire first season with what really happened? cause I feel like the show is wasting my time then.

and its like yeah its obvious some things didnt happen the way they did cuz its louis’s point of view & we will get another look at certain scenes but if the whole season is a total lie thats a waste of tv lol. granted the book iwtv narrative is more straightforwardly dark. theres no two interviews theres just one interview in the 70s (which was contemporary. iwtv published in 1976) .and the most that’s ‘contradicted’ in that imo is.. of course getting lestat’s point of view and all but also. ok. so you know how in the show lestat kills the tenor and clicks out on louis saying embrace what you are? in the book, lestat did the same thing but it was w/ these sex workers/prostitutes instead. in tvl lestat is like well actually these women were robbing the seamen so i wasnt the bad guy. this is actually why i think show lestat is nicer than book lestat! not rly cuz he did the same shit to lily. seriously tho book and show les were twins separated at birth and sent off to different universes imo. & in the book louis links w/ lestat whos bog body down bad holding a child and turning his back on him its irony its melodrama and we’re never sure if that scene actually happened. according to les well it didnt and louis was just a drama queen embellishing. thats what louis is, a drama queen embellishing things LOL. & the suspicion around armand is warranted like hes a powerful vampire with an adeptness in the mind gift, but he also loves lestat + his form of showing that is yandere crazy af aka torturing the people lestat cares about if not beating and tormenting lestat himself and its like..armand would do some shit like that hes crazy but itd be a bit boring if all of s1 was a big lie ?. let all the yaoi be problematic! i def think that theres some freaky shit going on between armandxlouis… the 1x07 reveal was like heyy danny ik i just checked out 5 seconds ago but i went from a bad bf to worse :3 the snake sheds his skin as ive dubbed it. i thought armand was rashid tvc until i seen the marius painting and the reveal had me sooo hype. the finale is the biggest divergence in the book besides the obvious changes (race, era, certain scenes etc etc) the fact that theres 2 interviews and that armand x louis are together in the modern day. in the book armand broke up with louis just before the interview, tried to mack on bog body struggle bus lestat and when all that failed he went to fuck w/ daniel. daniel was named in the third book finally and he was revealed to be w/ armand to have this crazy psychosexual bdsm worldwide cruising (well. armand watching danny fuck) blood airtagging romance rigmarole for a few yrs post interview cuz armand wanted someone to teach him what being human was like again and daniel wanted a demonic satanic zaddy. i am the devil’s minion (title chap drop!) armand’s put in a situation where he has to turn a dying 32 year old (book) daniel into a vampire. in the show clearly, daniel is old now but hes dying still. s1 doesnt show much so i can get why ur confused but in later seasons the nature of all their relationships between show armandxlouis , daniel & what happened and how theyll adapt the axd dynamic will be clearer to us all. i just think ppl r too committed to particular fan theories or takes rn. the ennui of being into an ongoing adaptation

OKAY im bitching abt this on this blog coz this is my storytelling autism safe space but girls. arcane season 2 she was really…..mid. tragically mid. fucking fuck

its just. initially when i saw they were stopping after 2 seasons i was relieved coz i did not want this story to be beaten to death for the sake of making money, but then i watched it and everything is so rushed. and its like if they were to give it just one more season, i dont think that would have been the case! someone on twitter said somethin about how the piltover zaun conflict should have been the focus of season w the arcane storyline building up in the background and man that would have been so good!!! and for a show that is so heavily reliant on traditional 3 act structure its so frustrating that they didnt go that route!!!

+ the piltover zaun storyline is something tht needed to be handled with wayyy more care than it got and having it be the focal point of act 2 (slowest paced) would have given it the time it needed to bloom……like its so fucking frustrating because its just. thrown to the side in favor of all the arcane shit. they have one episode of jinx being some sort of revolutionary figure and then?? whoops vanders back, time to shove jinx and vi towards the arcane plotline (which was also pretty rushed imo). and having vander come back didnt even have to be so forced! i could easily see it being built up for the whole season and having the finale be something similar to the end of ep 6, which would alsooo give isha and jinx’s relationship the time it needed (and make her death more poignant) but instead they just. didnt?? and for being the central characters of the whole story, vi and jinx got done so dirty….a death of character driven storytelling if there ever fuckin was one. it rlly felt like they were just along for the ride. after act 1 (and even then they were kind of sidelined) they werent driving the plot so much as they were existing alongside the plot and the only way they got connected to everything else was via caits facism era + vander/warwick dying for the sake of being incorporated into the arcane plotline

godddddddd and i LIKED season 2 it was fun!!! but!!!! it just is soooo lackluster in comparison to season 1 its so fucking sad. like season 1 was honestly jaw dropping at moments and season 2 is just….meh. and because jayce and viktor reinvented gay sex or whatever and cait and vi lezzed out its okay…………..like this is not the story i wanted to be given the fandom treatment of “the plot is kind of underwhelming but theres gay people kind of so we can make fanart of that,” and yet………thats exactly what happened……….god……..when will it end………..

Okay! Saw Arcane finally, just this past weekend. And I just watched the season 2 trailers, so I have some THOUGHTS

So! First off, loving the Goth Vi here, wonderful, the pain she is in is Visceral and ohhhh Boy I'm here for the arc.

Loving Jinx's new makeup. The cloak is Very cool, the pink cheek paint is also Amazing. Very pretty paints by the artists, seriously skilled!

But I actually wanted to get some thoughts out about Victor and how the HexCore is gonna go.

So! They kept saying the hex core was an "Evolving" set of magic runes!! Magic AI anyone?

So season 1, He gets some shimmer that'll help him "Survive a volatile change" afterward he carved runes into his leg brace and skin. He reached to the hex core, it changed his leg into some form of blue magical flesh, allowing him to run afterwards.

Then he attempted another experiment into changing himself more, via carving more runes all over himself. But critically, he didn't have any more shimmer, so he was just kinda stuck screaming in pain with his hand on the hexcore. Until! Until Ms Young (assistant researcher) ran up and attempted to help him, at which point she was devoured by the (demon)hexcore. She was dusted, some of her clothes and her notes on that project she was working on survived. Victor is distraught, and attempts to destroy the hexcore, but wilts at trying to destroy his life's work.

He drops the stool he lifted to break the core with, THEN! The core sparked, and his new leg suddenly wasn't working.

Next we see him, he has visibly limped his way to a lil nook in the wall, and spreads Ms Young's ashes, apologizing for not knowing her prefered location. Then he steps up as if to throw himself off, but Jayce interrupts him. Victor says "you have to destroy it (the hexcore)"

Now I'm just spitballing a bit

But!! I'm thinking, that Jayce and Victor are gonna survive (maybe, the trailers CONSPICUOUSLY DIDNT SHOW THEM OFF (or at least, not that was obviously and unambiguously them) so they may just be dead. Unlikely, but a possibility!) And Victor is gonna be way worse off. So!

Either we're gonna see them immediately post explosion, jayce pulls Vic outta the rubble, notices he is Very badly wounded, and ALSO!! His Leg!!•

(Or they'll wake up in the hospital, doesn't really matter. But I'm thinking it'll be the first, because Warlord Madarda says "Your Council is Dead" in the trailers. So I think they are either dead or at option 1•)

So he notices his leg, and remembers the HexCore! And so jayce drags his almost corpse friend to the hex core, and kinda throws him at it, at which point it heals Victor up into a magical blue corpse that walks. (Critically the hexcore is an evolving thing. And it has Already Eaten a smart young woman.) So! Hexcore has a "Healed" Victor, walking around and being a wealth of distracting joy (meanwhile the hexcore is in control because THAT would be the sick nonsense that I'd expect from what they were foreshadowing! The evil plants, the arcane being malicious (probably), and also how it punished Victor for trying to break it. Also. It'd let the showrunners have a nice lil inner POV of Victor's head, and they could have him react to what the hexcore is having his puppet of a body do. Because that'd be just Sinfully delightful, the pain of the guy that was dying because his body was poisoned, then finally he found a cure that was SO MUCH WORSE!) oh I'm living for this.

It'd also lead into the "Jayce and Victor are enemies because Victor is a cartoon supervillain that committed "crimes against Science!" (BTW the dumbest thing I've ever heard. The only crime against Science you could commit would be a complete destruction of knowledge and ways to find knowledge. But other than that it's not a crime *Against* *Science*) so they're now enemies.

Because Victor is a puppet in the control of the Hexcore~

re what you said about the s4 pacing. LITERALLY i wrote that whole other post as an answer to another ask i got about how the chosen's storyline really sucks in some aspects and i said the pacing is going to be incredibly off for season 4

okay first of all. there's a huge timeline issue in season 3 concerning the holidays and how much time passes since season 1, i was gonna make a whole other post about all the timeline inconsistencies but i didnt get around to doing it (i probably should). but like at this point it has been one year minimum since s1, realistically it should be three years if the end of season 4 is palm sunday. then like ??? theyre gonna spend the entirety of s5 on ONE week? and for fucking what. i thought they wanted a "bingeable" proper show with pacing and everything, why would they zero in on that

but anyways about ramah. first of all im 99% sure it's because her actress has schedule conflicts and likely wants to drop out of the show (that's why she mysteriously left to go talk to her dad in season 3). but also it's kind of obvious that they're using her death as character development for thomas for the rest of the series (which is gonna be like 2 weeks maximum over 3 seasons anyway. unless they continue onto acts but that poses another huge pacing problem.) which is pissing me off like?? i had the same reaction when tamar was acting weird for like one (1) episode and then she told mary everything and just left. why would you not give them proper character development established over a long period of time and just confine it to singular episodes like that. im pretty sure tamar's backstory won't be brought up again lmao. also ramah doesn't really have much of a personality (which sucks because i got the impression she was a bit of a rich daddy's girl and there was potential for character exploration) and her character hasn't even been that established so like... partially it's easy to kill her but on the other hand, it isn't as emotional especially bc she wasn't even here the last season.

also remember how in the other post i was like why are they literally giving consistent character arcs and emotional plot for matthew, mary, simon & eden, and james & john but theyre basically forgetting everybody else exists. yeah like james just fucking launches himself at someone and gets knocked out in season 4 which is great but how long are they going to be just keep throwing new arcs for the main cast and keep ignoring thaddeus' existence. btw i watched a clip of That Scene in s4 (i didnt realize what it was when i was watching it lmao) with thaddeus and james and they're basically asking jesus why he's talking about dying. so thaddeus stays personalityless while big james is over there getting concussions #maincharacter. im not saying that scene w/jesus isnt necessary but im saying its thad's big scene and it is once again about Not thaddeus

this entire thing is incredibly bizarre to me because they COULDVE made an actual show with fleshed out characters and everything ??? they confined themselves to 8 1-hour long episodes per season, which of course restricts how much storytelling they can do while keeping in all the major gospel events they need to put in. but like first of all they couldve Not Done that. i think their audience wouldve gone insane for more episodes. second of all, if they WERENT gonna carry on character arcs and give everyone a fleshed out character then why did they introduce them as such??? i mean it was probably because they wanted to spark interest and then just forget about it but that kind of sucks. why did they do this lmao they literally had the opportunity to make it better

you're so right the chosen's timeline is fucked up atp i can't really tell when it's been a day or a week or like. a couple months it's. i dont understand what theyre doing and why theyre doing it like this. cause like. even the characters who do have decent arcs like matthew and simon peter and james and john are not being developed properly cause the timing is so goddamn off. and i Know that in this new season they're gonna try to make john like Rise Above and start to kind of live up to his name as the favorite and have more understanding of jesus' teachings while james doesn't which is very stupid to me cause like. When. i think it was last season that this guy was bragging about getting to plough a field. how are they going to have john transition into one of the most competent disciples just. doesnt make sense.

and ALSO !!!! the reason all of these arcs are being so rushed is because they never get a break because as you mentioned literally nobody else gets any character developement. i wanna see more of thad. and little james. and nathanael while we're at it, and zee, and philip, and mary and tamar's friendship. why are they just throwing shit in there and never expand on it at all, unless you're thaddeus, in which case you don't even get that.

also i have a.,., suspicion, kind of, on where they're going with big james, and i can't be entirely sure, i'm not saying i'm correct, but just in case. Leave Tamar Alone ! i'm begging you ! dallas ! leave tamar alone ! not every single one of your female characters needs a romantic subplot ! i know big james is pretty and you want to give him a love interest so the repressed christian women in your audience keep watching your show, i see him, but for the love of christ actually ! leave tamar alone ! i know that if this happens you're only going to utilize her character for romance LEAVE TAMAR ALONE !!!!

Been a long while since i’ve last updated this space and I wonder if people still read my post.  It’s been a long while coming back to church. I kind of still rmb the date that I’ve started going back church.. prolly around 20+ October.  And I still rmb how lost I felt because of wtv that have transpired during Oct to Nov 2022 cause it was really a terrifying period for WNB. I really had alot of bad night sleeps. Sometimes there were only 2 hours of sleep cause I was waiting for my developer to get back which he sometimes get back at 4 am or never did and I had to rush him for it.  We were basically stuck on a project and looking back, it was a mistake for us to:  #1: Accepted a job that had a very rushed timeline by client. It was initially not so rushed, but client wanted to rush it, so we only had 1 month to do up the 1st draft. And being as unexperienced gundos, we complied without knowing the technical complexities behind it.  #2. We engaged a very bad developer whom we did not work with before cause of kind - of introduction by another client. Instead of engaging our usual developer, we chose another one thinking pricer = better. But we were wrong in the end. He was not responsive and he really totally suck.  We ended up needed to engage a total of 3 developers to solve this mess. But because of this mess that was created right from the beginning, we ended up have to let go of this project because we didnt iron out the wireframe and user flow right from the beginning.  #3. So it was our mistake right from the start for not drawing out the user flow, because it means we couldn't foresee how many pages or designs we need to do to create a functional website, which ended up with a myriad of problems like rushed timeline etc.  I still rmb feeling so distraught by the project that I simply sat outside 7/11 at bugis+ and watching the cars past by. I was already smoking at that point in time, so I rmb smoking sticks after sticks while watching the cars past by.  I still rmb it was the rainy season for Singapore. So it kind of rained and drizzled. While waiting for the rain to end, I smoked indoors before going out to smoke again haha.  I still rmb it was Deepavali eve, and I was dreading for Tuesday to come. I knew I had to face client’s remarks when Tuesday comes.  Those were prolly one of my firm’s darkest days, and 2022 was a very tough year for us. Not only did client not pay on time, we had to face harsh criticism from clients and there were existing clients who dropped out too.  Now that this big storm has passed and we’re into much smoother waves, I’m simply thankful for how 2023 has transpired so far. Of course, its far too early to know how 2023 will end, but i’m immensely thankful for all the deals closed and all the clients earned.  But more importantly, thanking God for leading me back to church, to the House of God, back to this safe nest where I feel assured and calm.  I still get reminded of those dark days time to time, such as today. My heart still skipped a beat when that nasty client texted us for some follow up questions cause her tone simply sucks. Of course, as vendors we have our faults but I would like to think that the very fact that we have compensated by offering a refund, our culpability has ended. But anyways that is besides the point.  My mind still wanders back to those dark days when I walked past 7/11, but i’m just so glad, its all over now.  As i was journalling today, tears rolled down my cheeks. Maybe those days were really tough but I held it all in, without knowing I was on the brink of breaking. It was honestly a traumatising experience.  But maybe, those tears were also signs of gratitude towards God, for pulling me back to Church, where the Home is. I’m such a blessed child of God, where He really chased after my heart. I’m truly blessed.  And lastly, thankful for these 2 friends. One who randomly texted me on Sat afternoon thanking me, and another one for always jioing me to meals and winning me back to church subconsciously. 

Tonight is such a warmly night. 

I really hope, my presence makes cell alot less boring for them. And one day, may all prodigal children find Home.  Oh, how He loves us.

!!!! YES OMG the missed opportunity for foreshadowing!! it REALLY couldve been something. it SHOULDVE been something, with all the pieces /right there/, just begging for a little attention. that was one thing supernatural seasons 1-5 did really well, to the point that it gets mocked occasionally for being so heavyhanded with it. and that's true sometimes, but kripke really did not ever miss a chance to foreshadow, and pretty damn solidly too(writer's strike mixups and the dropped azazel's kids plotline notwithstanding). lots of the cases were both monster of the week, while also having some aspect that paralleled the brothers or foreshadowed where the season was going, which kept things nice and open in the moment while also keeping the storyline really solid.

also re: mourning her, honestly i think it wouldve brought a lot of depth to xander's character if he was allowed to mourn for her, and miss her, because the connection(even if poorly communicated by the writing) was mutual! it was felt on both ends! xander is very sorely missing that sort of emotional depth that would make him as strong and compelling as the rest of the gang as early on as season 2, and this was a perfect opportunity to show him not as a slobbering idiot who wanted girls as some sort of trophy, but as a deeply lonely person who wants CONNECTION. who yearns for love, and to be seen, and be good enough, while still being allowed to be his goofy teen self that wears a tweety-bird watch and stuffs his face with junk food. that's a very human motivation, and it's one that "ampata" clearly had as well-- she didnt want to be All Special, Dead Forever, she wanted to be human and loved and goofy and a /teen/. him seeing that reflected in her and carrying on her memory and mourning her wouldve been. so. SO good. something xander's character NEEDED.

(not that im eager to see more women on buffy die for the advancement of a male character's development, but we're already working at a deficit here, we gotta make the best out of what we're given lmao)

one of the best things about monster of the week stories that are just /slightly/ worse than they could be, is just how juicy they are to tear apart and sink writer teeth into. rewriting them in your head, brainstorming what you would do different, is so much FUN!! especially when other episodes are solid enough to keep you hooked and engaged and coming back, so you arent eternally frustrated. i havent finished my rewatch of s2 so i cant speak to its coherency, but im definitely noticing a lot of episodes that i remember very clearly, episodes i thought were later in the series. but it turns out seasons 1&2 are just That Iconic. definitely very interesting on an adult viewing!

also hey i really hate that we never learn her name. she goes by "impada"(sp?), but that's because she killed a man and took his place, taking his name as an alias. we never learn who SHE is. what did her mother call her, before she died? what would she have asked to be called, if she could ask, if she had time before she grew weak and desiccated once more? who was this nameless girl? she isnt impada. but that's the only name we have for her

Wow, that was really good. The kids met back up, they had an awkward start but fell into that familiarity almost immediately. The parents were very parental. Although in hindsight, Sticky's were pretty much absent. What the fuck's up with that??

And the biggest tragedy is that there was no "roll credits" moment. They didn't namedrop the episode title 🙃 please bring that back in the test of the season I loved that so much

So the day after i was looking up The Witcher and Merlin crossovers (there was not many) i stumbled along a post on here that was asking if those two fandoms worked well enough together bc they were thinking of making their own. And since both my witcher posts are getting tons of notes and some of my older merlin posts are resurfacing, heres how i think theyd go together. I didnt see anyone go this route in any fanfic that i read

So a bit of a disclaimer. I know very little witcher lore/have only watched season 2 and i still dont fully comprehend the sphere things, and i havent seen a episode of merlin in about 7 years

So first off locations. Albion is the island of Britain. Camelot is a kingdom on a island that will become known as Albion "under Arthur's rule" (which was a lie because he DIED but whatever). The land the witcher takes place in is called The Continent, which conveniently has a lot of not solid canon maps so we can do almost whatever we want with locations. So... we make the island of Albion (and therefore Camelot) as a island off the coast of The Continent.

Camelot's magic policy = no magic users of any kind except druids (but that was temporary). So no sorceresses, mages, and probably no witchers. Camelot does tend to either go to war against kingdoms who allow (some) magic or enter tentative alliances with them. The Continent has magic users in some places/all over the Continent. So im thinking Uther never had significant contact with the mainland kingdoms/The Continent. We also only ever saw the sea in ONE episode of merlin so i think its safe to assume Camelot is also landlocked.

So that leaves the question of how do these two sets of characters get a chance to interact? Heres some various ideas:

Arthur travels to the mainland The Continent for political matters. He can be Prince or King at this point. Merlin (magic known or unknown) hasnt encountered many of these creatures and hasnt read much on any of them (since Camelot's books are on native creatures) so he's at a bit of a possibly major disadvantage

Morgana hears about how theres several powerful sorcerers/esses over on The Continent, that they even have schools. She goes over to The Continent in search of allies and soldiers for her army

If u want a slight AU same as above but its Morgana looking for schooling for herself. Either Morgause sent her there/died before she completed Morgana's High Priestess training. Or its when Morgana first discovers her powers and after the druid raid she or Merlin or someone else suggests she go to The Continent for training, because Uther has no control there

Because Camelot has no witchers and has banded sorcerers, they eventually have a monster terrorizing its citizens that they cant defeat. Uther can't trust any sorcerer, so he figures he can make a exception for temporary use of a witcher (kinda like how he was able to excuse using a dragonlord). Geralt is the unlucky witcher who got roped into going to Albion (and as per usual Merlin keeps trying to solve the situation himself...). Maybe Uther wants Geralt watched so Arthur (and therefore Merlin) takes that upon himself

This one is less likely considering how well known it is that Jaskier hangs out with magic people, but in the first episode of merlin Uther did invite and transport a singer to play for him in Camelot

Merlin (and friends?) accidentally transports himself to The Continent/Morgana transports him away and "away" turns out to be The Continent. He is now stranded

Yennefer/Geralt/whoever ends up going through a portal that drops them off in Camelot. They are now stranded

Do we know which kingdom Lettenhove is located? If not you can place Lettenhove in Albion/close to or in Camelot

Merlin goes to The Continent in search of [Magical Object] that Gaius or a Conveniently Placed Druid tells him he needs to save Arthur/stop the Big Bad Of Season __ (Nimue, Morgause, Morgana, etc)
