#also also. I put these in hc format just so they could come out quicker bc this is a situation where you’d want comfort as soon as possible

hi :) i had a bad day, a few days ago there was some problem in my family. can you write omi, tsumugi, chikage (if you feel like just one of them that's also ok) comforting their s/o who has run away from home due to family problems? thank you
Hello!! That seems terrible, and I hope your situation gets better :(. In the meantime, I hope you can find comfort in my writing, and I’m actually honored you’d come to me with such a personal request. So, with everything I’ve got, please enjoy these!!
Request rules
Omi
📷It was just a hard day for you. You wanted nothing more than to just relax a bit in a space away from it all. Away from all the people who had hurt you.
📷 For you, that meant holing up in your room with a video game. Not that it did you any good.
📷The tears still flowed, the pain in your chest didn’t go away, and you still wanted an escape.
📷That was, until there was a knock at the door.
📷”Hey, you’ve been in there for a while. You okay?”
📷A familiar voice rang through the door. Omi’s, to be precise.
📷The second you heard it, you tried to clean yourself up a bit before answering.
📷”’M fine.”
📷”Mind if I come in?” He asked gently, noticing the tone of your voice.
📷”Go ahead.”
📷When he entered, he found a wet, crinkled mess of a person.
📷”Oh.” Omi’s voice softened along with his expression as he shut the door and made his way over to you.
📷”Did something happen?”
📷You shook your head, hesitated, contemplating, then nodded.
📷”Wanna talk about it?”
📷”I guess. Just some issues that led me here are coming up again. It’s a long story.”
📷”I can settle in.”
📷And so you tearfully recounted your tale as Omi rubbed your back, not saying a word.
📷After a while, all he could come up with was “I see.”
📷There was a bit more silence before he spoke again.
📷”I can’t say I know exactly what you went through, but I had a similar experience when my mom died. The family fell apart, leaving me in charge, and running away led me down a pretty dark path. Hell, I lost my best friend down there. But I found my way here. And it’s all I could have ever hoped for. So, I hope you’ll find that place too, if you haven’t already. Either way, I’ll be there the whole time. No matter what. I’ve got you, and all I want is your safety.”
📷His sentiment was sweet, even for one who didn’t bother with flowery language much.
📷And yet, it made the already overflowing emotions run even more rampant, leading him to hold you close.
📷”I’ve got you. You won’t have to worry anymore. I promise.”
📷No matter what he did, he wanted you to feel safe, even if just for a bit.
📷And you couldn’t be any more grateful.
Tsumugi
🥚After moving in with Tsumugi, you finally decide to reveal something huge to him about your situation.
🥚Through tears and stammers, you somehow manage to explain why you ultimately rushed moving in with him.
🥚During your entire speech, he made sure to keep quiet, allowing you to get all of your words out, no matter how hard it was.
🥚Once he was entirely sure you were finished talking, he finally spoke up in the softest voice he could muster.
🥚”Though I can’t say I know what that’s like, I do want to let you know that I’m here for you, no matter what. I’ll do anything I can to help you, whether that be resolution or avoidance, just let me know what’s safer. But for now, let’s not focus on that. Let’s just sit here for a bit, okay? We don’t have to do anything if you don’t want to. Is it alright if I touch you?”
🥚You nod, and he pulls you into a hug.
🥚”There we go. You mind if I stroke your hair?”
🥚Another nod.
🥚”Alright. Just know you’re not alone anymore, alright? I’ll always be here, and even when it seems like nobody’s on your side, I am. You don’t deserve to be alone.”
🥚Somehow, his words made your tears flow even more, and you buried your head into his shoulder.
🥚Tsumugi made a sort of “aw” noise as he felt your body shake in his arms before murmuring sweet affirmations against the top of your head until you cried yourself to sleep.
🥚But just before you could fall asleep, he gave you a soft kiss to the forehead.
🥚”I love you. And don’t worry, I’ll be here whenever you need me.”
Chikage
🌶️”You know, we’ve never talked about how you joined the company, Chikage,” was what you decided to bring up in the Mankai dorm’s common room after an exhausting practice.
🌶️”How I joined? I used the process the rest of the company did: ask, audition, join. Why are you so curious all of a sudden?”
🌶️”Mm. Just thinking about it.”
🌶️”Well,” he replied with a sly smile, “How about I flip the question right back at you? How did you join?”
🌶️”Same process.”
🌶️”Why did you join, then? Why here?” Chikage asked, sitting beside you, hoping to toy with you a bit.
🌶️The intention didn’t quite reach, however.
🌶️It was as if the question was a gunshot.
🌶️Tears quickly pricked your eyes, and your voice became choppy.
🌶️After finding your words, you explained why and how you ran away only to find this place before your body crumpled against the couch.
🌶️Chikage’s demeanor immediately changed. His eyes widened a bit, and it was as if some sort of mask had slipped. He was hit with a flood of memories and a sense of kinship.
🌶️He remained silent for a bit before finally speaking up, eyes focused on his hands held on his knees.
🌶️”I did the same thing, you know. Not that this was the first place it led me. It actually led me to a pretty dangerous place at first. There, I found a family, then lost it. It broke me, but it led me here, and, despite what I did when I first came here, I found a home and a family. Listen, what I’m trying to say here is that,” he sighs, finally looking over at you, his expression having lost all signs of deception, “I hope that happens to you too. You’ll be happy and safe by the end of this alright?”
🌶️And for the first time since you’d met him, his smile wasn’t fake.
🌶️You finally looked up at him, and, though blurry, he looked so strangely serene in that moment.
🌶️Though you felt it may have been a bad idea, you draped your arms around him to place your head into the crook of his neck, your body shaking as you cried.
🌶️Hesitantly, he returned the action, awkwardly hugging you.
🌶️”You’ll be safe. I’ll make sure of it.”
🌶️You know he’s serious, right? Like he’ll probably commit crimes to make sure you’re safe.

A/n: This idea just popped into my head this morning and I needed to write it out, guess who finished in one day instead of focusing on summer school aha ha...so here’s the next edition of Class 1-A quarantine hc’s! I think I’ll include a bit of background for all of these, just for future reference if anyone likes them lmao. Today we have everyone’s favorite nitroglycerin king, Bakugo Katsuki! Hope y’all enjoy cause I’m honestly so soft for this one okay BYE-
Tumblr media
Surprisingly, you’re initially part of the Dekusquad, but you’ve always been close with Kirishima and Mina and feel comfortable hanging out with their group as well so you start gravitating to the Bakusquad
At first, Bakugo is really standoffish because, “You’re seriously friends with that damn nerd Deku” - wow everyone be hating on our cinnamon roll smh
But then he sees how much the rest of Bakusquad likes you and he starts warming up
It starts with small little things like not hogging all the space on the couches in the dorms and having you sit beside him
Then he notices that you’re very forgetful of your jacket and he ends up keeping a spare in his bag just in case the weather gets really bad
“I mistakenly grabbed two this morning, so lighten my load and carry the jacket—I don’t give a shit if you put it on, just hold it will you!”
He’s acts all aggressive whenever he tries to be subtle and someone calls him out on it pffft-
“What the hell are you talking about? You trying to get punched in the face?”
And his feelings are emphasized when the whole class is allowed to use the pool one afternoon and you’re pulling up with Mina and Momo
You’ve got a cute swimsuit and a sun hat on, and King Explosion Murder starts sweating a dangerous amount of nitroglycerin
Bakugo Katsuki has a thing for soft girls who can pull a one-eighty and kick ass no I do not take criticism
The class wants to play chicken and everyone is choosing partners, but in the corner of his eye Bakugo sees you getting cornered by Mineta
You’re usually able to handle the horny tornado but you’re feeling a bit too exposed in a bathing suit and start losing your cool
When I tell you the whole Bakusquad BOLTS to come rescue you-
Mineta is literally launched out of the pool by Sero like a rocket ship in orbit and the rest of the group is in this protective barrier formation around you (yes the squad has protocols for this kind of thing don’t even deny it)
Bakugo is beside you in a second with his hands secured on your waist because no one is coming near you like that when he’s around
“Why don’t you be my partner, yeah?”
And that's the story of how y’all destroyed everyone at chicken with absolutely no mercy and Bakugo finds your competitiveness that entire day attractive as hell
Walking back to the dorms afterwards, he pulls you away from the group and the look he gives you is  s e a r i n g
“For the love of God, go out with me” and he does not have to tell you twice
Literally the entire class is SHOOK because you’re actually pretty mellow and Mr. My Only Vocabulary Word Is Die is...ya know...✨volatile✨
But let’s be honest he’s actually a softie if you’re close enough to him (sorry Deku you’re the exception but we still luv u) and everyone ends up adoring y’all being together
When quarantine rolls around and you both have to live back at your respective houses, everything is decently calm for about two days and then you both start getting bored as hell
Honestly longer than you expected
Bakugo hates social distancing with a passion but he agrees to abide by the rules and ends up asking you to Facetime at least twice a day
His bedroom is actually very tidy ‘cause Bakugo hates clutter, especially when he’s doing schoolwork
I wholeheartedly believe that Bakugo is a beast in the kitchen and y’all can fight me about it because his knife skills are canon and you best believe he learned it to be more independent
He’s been experimenting with new cooking recipes and is a master at making something out of practically nothing in his fridge, which is really handy when a trip to the grocery store is long overdue
He sends you pictures of his dishes and your responses are all praise and none of it’s exaggerated either; this boy can COOK
Netflix Parties with the Bakusquad — the chat gets loaded with Denki and Kiri spamming and Bakugo yelling at them in all caps to shut up
Your lock screen is a picture of the group on Facetime and you all have filters on (somehow you got Bakugo to use one don’t ask how); literal friendship goals
And then it’s been about a whole month since quarantine started and Bakugo wants to come visit you, but his mom shuts that down quicker than Barry Allen in the Speed Force
He’s pissed because he and his family feel perfectly healthy but his mother will not let him leave under any circumstances
So when his parents go to visit some relatives who were more susceptible to the virus and needed help with a couple basic tasks you decide to sneak out to see him (in good health of course)
Imagine his surprise when his typically rule-following girlfriend calls and is already standing in his backyard, bags of groceries in your possession
***
Bakugo shot you an incredulous look as you sat at the kitchen table. “You know I could have just opened the front door for you.”
“Yeah, but going through the window was way more fun,” you defended. “It’s not like I’m very rebellious at any other time, so might as well live it up while I have the courage.”
The blond snorted, sifting through the numerous bags you brought along to his house. They were filled with an assortment of foods: vegetables, meat, rice, sauces and the like.
“What’s all this for?” he inquired, pulling out a bottle of teriyaki sauce.
You couldn’t help the small smile that grew on your face as your boyfriend curiously examined the items. “It’s for you to cook with, duh.”
“And how am I supposed to explain the new abundance of food in the fridge to my parents?”
“Say that I had it sent over through Postmates or something. Even I thought of that, Katsuki.”
He rolled his eyes as he placed down the last bag of items. “I can’t believe you snuck out and brought all this stuff,” he murmured, leaning over to kiss the top of your head. “Thank you, babe.”
A faint blush rises to your cheeks, despite the fact you’ve been dating the first year student for a few months now. Girlfriend or not, verbal thanks from the King Explosion Murder was rare. “You’re welcome.”
Bakugo turned to the stove and started organizing a number of ingredients on the counter beside it, pulling out kitchenware from cabinets as he went.
“Since you’re here and all, I suppose I could make your dumb ass something,” he remarked.
Your eyes practically sparkled with excitement at the offer; you were hoping the blond would make you one of his iconic dishes eventually. A ghost of a grin was present on Bakugo’s face at the cheer that left your mouth, his back facing you as he got started.
You were quick to situate yourself on top of the kitchen counter, Bakugo lifting you by the waist to place you farther away from the flaming stove but still allowing you to watch as he worked. His knife skills were almost scary when chopping up the vegetables, the pace at which he was cutting them astonishing you, and the overall aroma of the space had your mouth watering before he was even close to finishing the meal.
“I feel like a judge on Master Chef,” you giggled, and the boy shook his head at the comment as he eyed a timer he had set for the pork he put on the stove.
“I’m pretty sure my girlfriend of a judge would be a bit biased over the contestants,” he pointed out.
You hummed thoughtfully. “I mean, if he keeps looking this attractive while making food I think my bias is justified.”
He glanced at you perched on the counter top, and took a few steps in your direction, cupping your cheek in one hand to kiss you quickly.
“You’re distracting me,” the first year mumbled, running a thumb over your jaw. “Quit being so cute, dummy.”
You saluted playfully. “Yes, chef.”
He let out a soft laugh before moving back to silence the timer that had started beeping, alerting him that the pork on the stove was ready to go. The blond shooed you away and had you sit at the dining table as he took the skillet and turned off the stove flames.
As you waited patiently for Bakugo to finish up, you sang under your breath and set two spots at the table directly across from each other. By the time he was done, two plates of steaming food in hand, you were already sitting down and twirling a fork between your fingers.
“What did you end up making?” You asked as he set a plate of rice and pork in front of you.
“Tonkatsu,” he replied nonchalantly.
It smelled like absolute heaven, and your hunger was only emphasized in the midst of the fast food you had been surviving off of during quarantine. This boy was even good at presentation, and you began to wonder if he was just talented at everything he tried.
Bakugo took the spot across from you and watched as you took the first bite. He wouldn’t admit it, but he felt a bit nervous that you wouldn’t like what he made. But that thought dissipated as quickly as it came once your fork flew into the meal for a second time, and you shot him a wide-eyed look.
“So good!” you exclaimed with a stuffed face, a few grains of rice falling from your mouth and back onto the plate.
“Don’t speak with your mouth full or you’ll choke, stupid,” he reprimanded, but your praise had an evident effect on the male as a smug smile tugged at the corners of his mouth.
“I expect gourmet lunches from you at least once a week when school starts again.”
“Not a chance in hell that I’m doing extra work in the mornings.”
“I’ll buy you all the ingredients you want~”
“...I’ll think about it.”
Next thing you knew, all the food on your plate was gone, gladly relocated to your stomach. Rounding the table, you wrapped your arms around Bakugo’s shoulders as he also finished eating.
“Thank you for dinner, Katsuki,” you hummed contentedly, resting your chin on his head. “It was seriously masterclass, especially after all the takeout I’ve been eating.”
“Yeah, yeah, you’re welcome,” he waved it off. “I think a movie of my choosing is in order.”
“After we clean up, hot shot. Your mom would kill you if she realized someone was over.”
“Why wouldn’t she kill you too?”
“Please. Your mom loves me.”
The blond barked out a laugh before standing up and holding your waist, ushering you back to the kitchen. “True.”
Cleaning up was quick and easy with the both of you working together, stocking away dishes and remaining groceries. The evening sky, visible through a large window in the living room, glittered with stars as you sidled next to your boyfriend on the couch, the kitchen and dining room returned to its normal prestige.
“Katsuki?” you murmured, voice laced with a touch of contented sleepiness.
He turned his head from the television screen to face you. “Hm?”
“I missed you, silly.”
An arm was thrown around your shoulder and you were pulled closer to the male, who gently kissed your temple.
“I missed you too, dummy.”

Hi! Can I please have some Karma and Sugino friendship beadcanons? ❤
*cracks knuckles* I’ve been waiting so long for this...😤💚
I literally adore this friendship! Definitely my fave Karma relationship (next to Kayano uwu).
I guess I could sum it up as...Sugino is such a popular, friendly, socially intelligent guy. Karma is “cool,” edgy, and very socially awkward. They’re literally the most iconic type of sitcom duo
Anyways, sorry I was freaking out for a sec there 😅
So...they get off to a rocky start, but I imagine they get super close over the year. At first Nagisa is kinda a middle man, but eventually, they can hang out and vibe without him around.
Sugino overcomes his prejudice and biased view of Karma, and sees the good qualities in him. His respect for Karma grows and he thinks of him as a trustworthy guy.
Karma thinks Sugino is ingenuine at first, but realizes he’s just purely nice. Sugino is very honest and easy to talk to, which is great for someone like Karma, who doesn’t trust people easily at all.
Now...for some headcanons hehe
Sugino is one of the few people that Karma will voluntarily help with studying. He may joke that Sugino owes him a favor or needs to supply him with wasabi or some shit, but he’s honestly just doing it bc Sugino is a close friend.
They’re the most confrontational in Group 4 and may end up verbally disagreeing just bc of their clashing personalities at times. Except it’s usually with little things, like directions, what to do, etc.
(In the future) Everytime Karma is mistakenly given the opportunity to drive, Sugino is such a backseat driver. He’s legitimately scared sometimes that Karma will kill someone...
They fight over the aux, and Karma somehow manages to get it every single time.
Sugino has accidentally hit him in the head with a baseball far too many times...Karma can’t even get pissed bc they are accidental.
Whenever they’re paired in PE, neither of them are taking it seriously. They’re just messing around so much bc it’s honestly so lighthearted. When they do take it seriously, it’s always an interesting match. Karma has faster reflexes, but Sugino beats him in agility. Sugino also has more raw strength, but Karma is a quicker thinker.
Sugino is canonically very talented at a lot of things: sports, art, acting... Karma jokes around that Sugino might finally beat him as the Class Talented Genius, but it’s not out of jealousy at all. It’s his way of complimenting Sugino and showing his support.
Surprisingly...Karma doesn’t ship Sugizaki. Of course, they’re both his friends, but he’s still way closer with Sugino. And he can’t help but see the delusional fantasy Sugino is living in where he puts Kanzaki on a pedestal. It bothers Karma but he isn’t sure what to say. He just hopes Sugino gets over himself eventually, but in the meantime, he’ll quietly support him.
The two of them and Maehara are the ones to come up with “get-rich-quick” schemes...they always invite Isogai but he just sighs and says “Don’t break anything. Don’t kill someone. Or each other.”
They once make a bet with each other that neither of them can indulge in their guilty pleasure for a week, and whoever caves first loses and has to do something embarrassing. Karma can’t eat any junk food or sugar, and Sugino can’t touch a video game. They constantly bait each other during the week while they’re both losing it. Sugino eats snacks in his face, including his precious strawberry milk. Karma rubs it in his face that he could afford the newest version of Sugino’s favorite game. They eventually end it without either of them lasting the week, and tackling each other in a fight. Group 4: “I literally can’t with these dumbasses”
They end up in a ballet class together with Kimura. It was suggested by Korosensei that it improves their balance and skills, but Karma shrugged it off and Sugino said he’ll pass. A couple days later, they change their mind bc dammit, Isogai and Maehara beat them AGAIN. They drag Kimura too bc why not, athletes and chuuni’s stick together. They leave having great ballet skills, and return to assassination. But Isogai and Maehara still be winning 😔
Karma is shook at first in the beginning of their friendship when he notices how many times Sugino nearly jumps into fights/starts shit. He brings it up, and Sugino just sheepishly responds “Oh you know, I only do it when my friends are being messed with. I really should handle things better though.” And Karma just stares at him like ?? “No Sugino don’t change. Now that I hear that, I finally have some respect for you lmfao.” And Sugino is like “oh cool! ...wait that was an insult.”
But that really is a part of Sugino that Karma respects and appreciates a lot. He knows that Sugino has got his back whenever he needs him there, whether it’s assassination, street fights, etc.
Sugino is a chaotic well-meaning idiot, but Karma never wants to use him as a minion like Terasaka. He’d prefer Sugino by his side, like a right hand man, with his support close by.
Karma lives to scare Sugino with his edgy stories, but of course, that goes away the longer they know each other and become friends. Sugino just either accepts it or eggs it on. Karma: “what if I drop this spider onto your head and it infects your mind?” Sugino: “do it bitch.”
Both of them get the same present format for each other on their birthdays. One joke/prank gift and one useful/practical gift.
I HC that Sugino becomes friendly with Gakushuu too at some point, so whenever the rivals are being petty and ready to kill each other, Sugino is just like :D
It’s a pain doing laundry at his apartment since his family has so many clothes and sweaty sports gear to wash, parents are usually busy, their machine doesn’t work sometimes, and he hates leaving things to air-dry... So Karma lets him wash his stuff at his house UwU
Karma always makes sure to watch his baseball games in the future. Not in person all the time, and not the whole game, but at least a couple minutes of the screen. Just to make sure Sugino is doing alright. If he’s having a bad day and isn’t in the lead, Karma texts him like “wtf u better win bitch >3” and Sugino replies “ur right but fuck u”
Karma has a field day whenever girls are flirting with Sugino and he’s so oblivious. Over the years, he has: pretended that he was Sugino’s boyfriend instead and “back off hoes,” basically arranged dates for him just out of fun, and catfished Sugino (as adults)
Sugino’s home isn’t perfect at all, his family is far from perfect. But it’s still way better than the emptiness that Karma is surrounded by. So he invites Karma over a few times for dinner and such, and Karma appreciates it a lot. He also bonds with Sugino’s wild little brother and they create so much chaos.
Sugino can’t trash talk at all, and Karma tries to teach him but it doesn’t work. He’s too wholesome, and Karma just gives up after ten minutes of hearing harmless, stupid shit come out of Sugino’s mouth.
Overall, they’re the Iconic, Talented, Sitcom Duo with so much comedy potential. I love this friendship so much!

Hello 🥺I’m going around asking people that I follow if they can give any tips about “how to start a blog” such as yours, also what is your process for making headcanons/full length fanfics? Thank you if you answer this :D
Hi!! Here are some things I’ve picked up throughout my whole year of being here (I apologize if what I say has already been said habsjsns)
I’d reccomend establishing a rules page early on if you decide to take requests so people know a general idea of what they’ll find on your blog + what is okay for them to request, like if your blog is sfw or not 👍
Organization! A navigation post, masterlist, etc., all those things will definitely help a lot!
When starting out, just. Write. Write what you love for who you love, write whatever self indulgent stuff you can think of, all that matters is you’re enjoying what you’re doing! Notes or followers Will come with time, so you just gotta keep putting yourself out there! It may seem daunting at first, but if you genuinely like what you’re writing, others will definitely be drawn to it!
Making friends with other writers. That’s something I’m still trying to work more on bc I suck at socializing but I love having people I can chat with about writing and learn from. You don’t have to do this alone!
Read a lot! Good writing comes from reading good writing, and there’s a difference between learning from someone’s writing style and straight up copying. Please don’t plagiarize.
Sometimes I’ll come across a line that just hit hard, and I’m like well why did it resonate with me so much? I go back and look at the types of imagery used, sentence structure, etc.
Or sometimes I’ll reread a fic series, but this time taking note of how the author laid out each series of events during this painstakingly awesome slowburn so I can learn how to plan longer fics better.
Anyway, learning from other writers is totally okay!
That’s kind of all I got for blog tips? The last four are straight up diving into writing territory rather than blog tips smH
I’m a mess when it comes to these kinds of things
My writing process is under the cut bc i got excited
Well when it comes to writing requests I literally just scroll through my inbox until I pass a request that sends a light bulb through my head, usually it being a certain scene or a concept, or maybe a way I want that request to end.
Then I pull out ye olde laptop and build around that, sometimes working backwards from the scene or ending, or, usually for fics, write a small summary of what I want to happen that I can refer to later
When I’m writing headcanons I’m a lot less stiff if that makes any sense, like I enjoy the freedom the bullet points give me, and how it’s okay to have like one line that’s just “todoroki.exe has stopped working” or move to another topic or scene more often unlike when I’m writing fics, idk skhdskjs
Essentially it’s like a fic in bullet point format, but the paragraphs are a lot smaller and it moves quicker than fics bc all you’re really doing is spilling your thoughts in a less strung together way.
For hcs its mainly the struggle of getting those first few lines down, the rest comes easily once I get into the flow of it and begin to have a clearer idea of where I want to take it.
When I have an idea for a fic I want to write, request or not, I always try my best to think about the ending first. This is something I learned that truly helps a lot.
So many times I would give up on fics because I would hit a wall I couldn’t get over no matter how many times I tried.
But ever since I started writing with an end in mind, things got easier bc I had a point to work the plot towards. And it’s okay if the ending changes along the way!
I don’t really know how to explain my process when I’m actually writing tho. I watch it play out in my head like a movie and I just write it! The whole time I’m always thinking, how will this lead towards the conclusion?
I take a lot of inspiration from songs, too, whether it’s the kind of vibes I want for that piece or the story being told in the song itself.
I really hope this could be useful to you, I haven’t really ever gotten asked for advice with this kind of stuff before asjhdskdks
I wish the best of luck to you in your writing endeavors, and hmu when u start posting omg i’d love to read your writing

Thank you so much for the super quick reply! This is the same small fandom anon, but I do think I'd enjoy inserting my muse into other canons! He's a huge oddball who's both very secretive and very outgoing and I have a thousand hcs for him, and his canon is pretty much a slice of life, so I think he'd fit a lot of situations and universes... As much as I have a favourite ship with him in his canon, can't exactly go shooting for rps that don't exist at the moment. Do you have any tips on how to get started with a blog, and etiquette on reaching out to other rpers? Thank you so much!
(In response to this answer.)
You are very welcome! I know the turnaround time here can vary, I try to pick some asks a week that I can get done quicker if possible, but that's not always possible. Some responses take more research, reaching out to others for wider experiences, research, or more careful wording, and that can take a lot of time. So, if you ever send something in and I can't get back to you as quickly, never feel like I'm ignoring it! I'm just slow sometimes, I swear.
I am so relieved to hear about your muse! I'm relieved because this sounds like a circumstance in which you could easily integrate him into a wide variety of crossovers, I hate it when it seems like people might not be able to enjoy the muses they want. You also have a great attitude about this! It goes a long way toward having fun when you're willing to be flexible and so reasonable about things. Like with the favorite ship. Of course, it would be wonderful to find someone with that muse to ship with, but since that isn't the case right now, your willingness to put yourself out there for other interactions might very well end up in great ships you never would have thought of happening.
As for getting started with a blog, my best initial tips are to not get too hung up on making the blog perfect right away, make sure that it is accessible, and have the most important information available before you start trying to find partners.
People have an unfortunate tendency to get stuck on the blog's design, stressing themselves out, prioritizing this over getting the important information up, and exhausting themselves. As well as becoming frustrated after they spent a lot of time trying to duplicate their corner of the RPC's preferred aesthetics, only to not have muns beating down the door to interact. Attractive blogs are great, but this idea you'll see floating around the RPC that aesthetics matter more than anything isn't all that correct. If you, as a mun, are coming off as good to interact with and your muse as interesting, that is going to matter more than anything else...and the people who are more interested in your blog aesthetics are not a loss if they feel that way. If they can't love your muse at a basic tumblr theme, they don't deserve your muse at a piece of artwork tumblr theme, right? Right.
If you're not familiar with, or comfortable with, heavier editing of tumblr themes, it's absolutely alright to go with a more basic one that is easier to edit. Even those allow for a pretty good range of customization options. (You can always change the theme later on, too!) You can find themes in a few ways - tumblr's theme gallery, searching for things like "free themes" on tumblr, and visiting the theme makers' blogs linked on other RP blog themes. There are some themes made specifically for RP blogs, but it isn't necessary to use those, any theme that allows customization, has features you personally like, and is a single-column format works out just fine. Neither myself nor any of my partners who have been here even longer than me have ever used a RP specific theme, it's seriously okay not to. And it's seriously okay if you do want to! They tend to require more knowledge to work with, however, and are often geared toward multis. There is also the option of paying for a custom theme, but I would advise that you wait on that until you've gotten established.
You might be familiar with "container themes" from considering RPing here, but in case you're not, they are themes where most of the blog is static and there is a portion of the blog that shows posts or the page you clicked on in the links. This portion is contained in a square or rectangle. These themes can get a bad rap, though not a totally undeserved one, as many RPers make the non-static portion very, very small. They're not all like that! If these themes appeal to you, go with a style that is large enough for those visiting your blog to actually be able to read your posts.
This is a part of overall accessibility. You want to be sure that others can read and navigate the blog, and that you are making it inaccessible to those using screen readers or who might have disorders that eyestrain is a problem for. So, don't use themes that have page links disguised as graphic elements the visitor has to search for to locate. Don't use fonts that are difficult to read because of the style or size, and exercise caution choosing colors. No light colored font on a light background, dark colored on a dark background, or combinations that are incredibly bright.
Do make your blog reflective of your muse if possible by using colors and graphics that give the feeling of your muse, but don't make it an unpleasant place that is impossible to navigate.
It's important to be careful about your tags as well. Pick some tags you'll be using for frequently occurring posts like OOC posts, headcanons, queue, aesthetics, memes, and think about how you want to tag your RP interaction threads. A general format for the latter is to tag the URL of your mutual, give the thread a name often designated by "thread" or "th" in front of it, a tag for whatever verse you are using often designated by "verse" or "v," and if there is a ship, you can tag it with a ship name or phrase as well. You want to use things that allow for clarity in finding your threads again, as well as for others to use filtering if they don't want to see particular users or interactions. If there is material in the RP that is triggering or someone has asked you to tag, tag it as "trigger/topic here tw/cw." For example: depression tw.
Keep it simple, don't use tags that are exceptionally long phrases, use special characters or fancy fonts, as all these things can prevent others from filtering your tags as needed and from searching your blog for posts. Tumblr's search feature is kind of awful anyway, don't give it any reason to be worse! Additionally, many of the things people use to make their tags aesthetically pleasing are a nightmare for those using screen readers. The screen reader will literally read whatever is put there, meaning that if you put repeating elements in, it will keep saying them. It will also pronounce the letters in non-English alphabets that folks seem to think are cool to drop into things for The Aesthetic, and some special fonts, characters, and colors will give a terrible noise only.
Before you begin looking for mutuals and interacting, you need to have some important information available.
Have your rules page completed first! (It's alright to add to them and refine them as you go, you'll probably need to, just let your mutuals know that you've made changes by posting on the dash that you've done so.) Your rules tell others how you RP, what you won't write, need tagged, what they can expect from you, and go over important matters before they're a problem. Include things like what age a mun needs to be to interact with you, if there will be sensitive material on the blog/in the threads, how you should be contacted, if you're mutuals only, topics you won't write and/or need tagged, if you need to be contacted before sending a meme or starter to plot, and so on.
Rules aren't a bad thing, they're a very, very good thing! They make boundaries and expectations clear from the outset and help us better figure out who we might (or might not) work out with well. Unfortunately, you cannot simply put something as to the effect of "just have fun, don't be a dick" on there and call it good. Fun and what constitutes dickish behavior is too variable, and the people who are going to be a problem aren't going to not be dicks just because you tried to be a casual, open, friendly mun who asked them not to be. Give specifics as to what you do not want. That doesn't mean that you have to be hateful or anything, but it's good to have boundaries as a part of cultivating your space so that it's a fun time for you. Muns who act like they're being personally attacked because another mun has rules are enormous red flags. If someone is that bothered by you having boundaries and expectations, especially if they differ from theirs, they were never going to be a good person to interact with.
It's always important to have an information page about your muse, but especially so when that muse might not be a well-known one. You can link to a fandom wiki page for more information, but don't just link and leave it at that. Like your headcanons, information pages tell others how you write the muse. Tell people all the relevant information about your muse you can think of, with a secretive one, you'll want to leave some details out, but can still go over otherwise important aspects of their life. Let them know what makes the muse interesting, who they are as a person, what they look like, their age, occupation(s), likes and dislikes, and significant events in their life that shaped them. On this page, you can link tags for your headcanons or even an about tag for more information.
A verse page is going to be important for this muse, you'll want to have a few options up before interacting. This is where you come up with how your muse fits into other universes and open up the opportunity for those interactions. Pick some fandoms you're interested in doing crossovers with, then consider who your muse is within those fandoms (how are they different here, how are they the same, what canon events shaped them, etc.), and write out some details that make them a natural feeling part of the universe. You can even put down some plot ideas at the end of each to give others stepping stones to interaction. Once you start accumulating headcanons for these verses, you can link that unique tag here for them to get even more ideas.
You want to be certain that these pages are easy to find so that people will actually access them. On tumblr's app and the mobile version of the site it can be difficult to impossible to use regular blog navigation. Making a pinned post that remains at the top of your blog is a great way to provide those links for all users quickly. You can also reiterate on this post some of your most important rules, like age of interaction and your preferred RP style (oneliner, para, multipara, novella).
Regarding approaching others, the best idea is always to go have a look at their rules first.
Most muns will put in their rules how they want to start up RP and be contacted. For example, some want to be contacted only through an ask instead of tumblr's IM, or others don't want to be contacted until they've followed you back and you're now mutuals. If someone is mutuals only and they don't follow back, it's the better idea not to contact them even if they do not have that instruction in their rules.
If everything seems good in the rules as to contacting them, you're both mutuals if required, etc., then approaching politely with an idea is best. Something like, "Hello! I'd love to get something started. I think that my muse's x verse might work out great, if you're interested, we could plot or I could send you a meme, whatever is your preference." If you enjoyed a headcanon of theirs or have come up with an idea incorporating something from their wishlist (or just come up with a good idea in general) definitely mention those things! You want to express that you're interested and like their muse without unintentionally coming off as pushy or like they're going to be solely responsible for coming up with an idea for interaction.
Unfortunately, a hell of a lot of muns have had very nasty experiences anymore. If they come off as a bit cold at first, don't take it personally, they're very likely just playing it safe until they've gotten a chance to get to know you better. Some of those bad experiences have been other muns demanding interaction and refusing to take no for an answer, and it isn't right, but sometimes, the next person can get caught in the crossfire. Don't take things like muns blocking you after declining personally either. They're not trying to be offensive, they're trying to be defensive, minimizing the chance that they'll be treated poorly for declining. And if someone has a bad attitude with you for doing exactly what you're supposed to be doing? Well, at least you found out that this person sucks before you started writing with them! Block them and try not to let it put a damper on things for you.
Again, just read the rules and be sure you're contacting people the way they want to be contacted. You will also run into muns who are either fine with you starting interaction by sending in a starter meme or who prefer that you do so. When you see a meme they've posted that fits with the muses and that you like, go ahead and send it in. I like to contact people first anyway, as I am both neurotic and plot-based only, but if you're comfortable just sending in a starter meme and running with it, go for it!
When following people, it's much the same. Read their rules before following, this makes certain you're not going to have to unfollow as soon as you do read them and see that you're not right for each other. If someone's rules specifically cite aspects of your muse and/or writing as something they don't want to interact with, don't follow them. If they have rules that are contrary to yours, it really depends on the severity of that situation. Are all of them contrary? Don't follow. Only some very important ones? Still, don't follow. Are you willing to compromise on some less important rules that clash, as well as willing to address that with them so they know you are giving their rules preference? Then, yes, go ahead and follow them.
Rules are not always going to match up, but much of the time, that isn't a big deal so long as you're respectful of the differences and communicating with each other. However, what might have seemed like a minor difference to you might be a major one to the other mun. They might not be willing to interact or follow you back. It's just one of those things that happens because we've all got different comfort zones and things that are important to us.
This is one of those (too) many hot button issues in the RPC, but I feel like it is on the follower to adapt to the other blog's rules. I feel that way because the person following read those rules and decided they weren't an impediment to interacting in the first place. No, people shouldn't compromise on critical rules, like not interacting with minors when they have inappropriate content, but they should also have seen that, using that example, the blog was run by a minor, therefore, they haven't any business following. I mean things like seeing that a blog publishes its replies on a queue while you don't usually care for that and have this stated in your rules - in this situation, you knew the other mun was running on a queue, but decided it was worth it to you.
So, if it is a serious difference of comfort zones or the way you otherwise need to enjoy RP, don't follow. If it is something it won't bother you to compromise on and you'll be open about that with the other mun, go ahead and follow. And all of this is relevant because following is first, slightly less passive, form of establishing interaction and approaching another mun for RP. Being aware of the information they've provided you on their blog is a great first step, and once you make contact more directly, you can show them that you have read rules, about pages, verse pages, and/or headcanon posts by including this in your conversation. Mention something you enjoyed about any of these things, it puts people at ease to know you cared enough to actually read what they left for you!
It can take a little bit to find the right group of people, and that can be disheartening. Just know that none of it is personal, and you will find the right people eventually! Many times, all it takes is finding one person who works out great, then, their friends and mutuals are often happy to start interacting with you as well. Keep trying your best, stay positive, and find some sort of RP Side Quests to keep yourself entertained and into the whole thing when you've got few interactions. Things like elaborating on or updating headcanons, making whole new headcanons, exploring your characterization on your own by answering character development questions, writing some one-shots, and checking out new blogs around the RPC.
I think you've got the right outlook to make this work out great for you, and I hope you have a smooth learning experience and find some awesome mutuals quickly to get you started!
