Or maybe even making their way down his throat and nose and he can't breathe- WHO SAID THAT? NOT ME) But then SY's conciousness is appearing again from the slumber and going feral, cuting and ripping off the wires, because LBH's in danger.

Well look at that, self-sacrifice and continous electrocution for him!

Hello beautiful people!

Are you a Whump fan? Do you find comfort in the dark, disturbing, and transgressive? enjoy media that is deliberately uncomfortable to consume, and do you happen to be huge weeb like myself? If so:

PLEASE PLEASE READ AKU NO HANA/THE FLOWERS OF EVIL BY SHUZO OSHIMI (18+)

It is actually my favorite piece of media of all time. It's a psychological thriller about a young boy named Kasuga, who is blackmailed into a "contract" with Nakamura, his school's resident antisocial (anti, not asocial) outcast after she sees him stealing his crushes gym clothes. It's a beautiful story that uses a lot of Whump to explore themes of sexuality, gender, shame, alienation, and coming of age. It is also pretty messed up love story. So I figured it's perfect for this type of community.

Some general stuff:

There are two parts. The first part is extremely Whumpy and the second part is more comfort/healing. The ending is perfect one of the most perfect ending in existence imho

the art style is a little rough beginning. I promise it gets better. For me, seeing how the art style improves is part of the fun

there is an anime adaptation, but it's extremely unpopular with fans, mostly due to the fact that it's rotoscoped, characters do not look like teenagers, and because it only adapts half of Part 1. I have mixed feelings about it myself, but I'd definitely recommend reading it first if you wanna give it a watch. Also despite my problems with it, the ending theme fucking goes

Emotional abuse/degradation. And a lot of it. I cannot understate how much of this there is.

Physical abuse. From what I remember not as much as the emotional abuse, but still pretty prevalent and scary at tines

I had this idea a time ago, actually

Whumpee is a living weapon. I love this trope. They are brutally trained to be ruthless and perfect

But whumpee is a kind soul. It hurts them everytime they have to hurt/kill someone. They can't manage to erase their emotions, as much as they want it

One day, whumper(s) needs an information. They send whumpee to a small city and tell them: kill them all, but this person

Whumpee has no choice, so they go with some more people who work for whumper and do the damned work

They manage to capture the person, and then whumper tells them: "YOU are the one torturing them for the information"

At first, whumpee hesits. They never did it before. They don't want to. They end up following the order but is more than they can handle.

The second whumpee keeps asking to be killed, asking them to stop, to just die, and whumpee gives up one day

They don't complain about killing people anymore. Certainly taking lifes, even as heartcrushing as it is, is better than inflicting that much pain.

As long no one's being tortured.

Whumpee can't forget Second Whumpee's screams.

AND!

Whumper manage to pick the information they want another way. But whumpee disobeyed them. They won't go without punishment

Whumper captures another person and tells to whumpee to torture this one too, "but without killing"! They'll only die when whumper says they had enough. Whumper knows whumpee is a very empathetic person. They'll use their feelings as a punishment.

"If you kill Third Whumpee too soon, next time I'm bringing two more to be tortured, did you understood?"

Whumpee has no choice. Their heart breaks at every scream, every needle, every muzzle, every blade

But they continue. They don't want it to get worse.

Sorry if it's too long or too specific, I was actually doing this to a character of mine, but I kinda gave up because it was too whumpy, it was before I joined the community. Didn't want to let this idea die. Feel free to use, or maybe tell this idea to someone. As long as you're tagging me.

10 Sandman Fic Recs!

I was struck by the absolutely heady and incredible thought that I have reached a. 800+ followers, and b. can place upon your dashboards the fics of friends and also people with whom I would enjoy being friends, and who I think should get more attention. There's going to mostly be Not the Big Fics in this particular list (I will rec all the big ones I'm readin later!)

Therefore, in no particular order, and containing everything from gen, to Dreamling, to Hobrintheus (or w/e the name for it is lol), ~fic recs~

I'm so sorry that you have to have a body by Taxonamie (AO3, Gen, Teen & Up)

A different take on Dream's capture; Dream's POV.

I DO love some good old body horror, and this fic does SUCH a good good job of really exploring what it'd be like for something that's supposed to be Endless to suddenly be trapped in a continuously dying and rebirthing flesh suit. EXTREME Lady Amalthea vibes. Immaculate.

2. Holy Palmer's Kiss by quentintoo (AO3, Dreamling, General Audiences)

Good pilgrim, you do wrong your hand too much, Which mannerly devotion shows in this; For saints have hands that pilgrims' hands do touch, And palm to palm is holy palmers' kiss.

I'm pretty sure this was the fic that sparked my intense obsession with longing and like, hand-touching and hand-kissing. Scintillating and sweet.

3. to sleep—perchance to dream by fishydwarrows (AO3, Dreamling, Explicit)

Hob Gadling remembers the night of 1889 well. He dreams and dreams of ways it could've been different, but dreams are often a way of escaping a more terrible reality.

For me THEE Hob whump fic, because if you're going to have an immortal why not make him miserable for a time? Mind the tags, but the payoff is SO, so good. I've read this, I think, at least a half-dozen times.

4. Heat Wave by spqr (AO3, Dreamling, Explicit)

“Sounds like you’re horny to me,” says Matthew.

Somewhat similarly, this for me is THE "Hob Gadling fucks and fucks severely" fic. Everything spqr writes is solid gold, but Dream being Endlessly Horny for his good old friend is both amusing and SCREAMINGLY hot.

5. Eros in Pragma by Delta_Pavonis (AO3, Dreamling, Explicit)

In all his long centuries never had he really done something like this. It was exciting and terrifying and exhilarating and too many emotions all mashed together. He felt like his skin was vibrating. Deep breath in. He could do this. He wanted to do this, desperately wanted to, a desire from deep in his bones. And yet… long breath out. Hob walked over to one of his bedside tables and opened the drawer. There was only one item contained therein and he removed it with shaking hands. The silver buckle jingled softly.

Here's a fun fact! I neither read nor wrote a lot of D/S before I got into Sandman, and now I do, and it's almost entirely because of this fic!

6. I have lately learned the difference by Chthonion (AO3, Dreamling, Mature)

While Dream is imprisoned, Hob dreams of prisons, until, one by one, all of them take the same shape: a glass cage. Hob doesn't realize why until he meets Dream again, and the dreams don’t stop afterward. Trauma, connection, and adventures in accidentally mixing two people’s subconscious demons together in the dreamscape.

This is just. SO good. I love anything that explores Dream's trauma wrt his imprisonment but chooses to do so through Dream's mindscape, and this delivers in spades. Let Hob Gadling smash more snowglobes 2k22.

7. point-set triangulation by therm0dynamics (AO3, Hob/Corinthian, Teen & Up)

Hob knows he is dreaming. He also knows he’s being hunted.

The dynamic between Hob and the Corinthian is FASCINATING -- they're truly mirrors of each other, both hungry for humanity, both wanting, both bound up in cosmic Endless bullshit. This is fairly tame, for the Corinthian, so if you're squeamish I can assure you that this is more psychological than visceral. There's an absolutely smoking hot sequel, though.

8. the pleasant punishment by romanticallyinept (AO3, Hob/Dream/Corinthian, Explicit)

“All right,” Hob says, fairly evenly, he thinks, for what he’s been presented with. “Would someone like to explain what’s going on?” Dream has the decency to look slightly abashed, as if he only just realized that he showed up, unannounced, in his friend’s flat, with a nightmare in tow. But it’s only slightly, because he’s still Dream. “I would not ordinarily involve a human in the discipline of one of my creations,” he says, inclining his head slightly, “but you are no ordinary human, Hob Gadling.” One day, one day, Hob will learn to keep his fool mouth shut.

Well if you weren't either, give this one a try. Gentle dom!Hob punishes a recalcitrant Corinthian while Dream watches. Surprisingly tender, incredibly sexy, lots of feel good subdrop soothing afterwards.

9. A Dream of Stars by jehannaford (AO3, Gen, General Audiences)

After the events of Watership Down, Fiver has a dream and is offered a choice. A very short story.

This is super short, super sweet, and super poignant. It's like 200 words, and it's worth every second of your time.

10. as long as this body shall endure by andunetir (AO3, Dreamling, Explicit)

Hob loves eating pussy. (He knows he shouldn’t be thinking about this at school, but it’s free period and the Year Elevens are more than capable of supervising themselves, so sue him, he’s bored.)

There's not a ton of fic that explores gender through Hob's point of view, but this is one I keep coming back to again and again. Trans!Hob gives me ALL kinds of life, and this is a fascinating exploration of immortality and transness. Also, again, it's super hot.

Making this short as I can because it annoys me as much as long posts annoy everyone else, this is the super fun story about the person who just lied about me telling them to kill themselves, in case anyone was curious since they briefly had me named on their blog and a few people I know saw it (but I was given screenshots from someone else of them talking shit about me in their server BY NAME, so no this wasn't all about some random anonymous posts or something, they were directly telling people this in private).

Started with me screenshotting (and blacking out the name of) their comment on someone else's post, talking to someone else. Comment was this.

This person reblogged from their alternate account, which by the way did not state their age so no, I didn't know they were a minor until I saw the abusive posts they made about me later, after our one and only interaction, and they interacted first. I never planned on interacting with them, anyway.

The original post (and my response) can be read HERE, but long story short, they told me I was making things up, projecting my own issues onto them, purposefully misinterpreting words and putting meaning to them that didn't exist, essentially "sorry, but something's wrong with you and this didn't happen the way you think it did." They also apologized for harassment I was receiving because of a joke I made about an (anonymous, once again I blacked out the name!) post that said pet whump writers have "an....agenda" depending on the "right/wrong way" they write it. That's the post this all started from, it was a compete joke, I never did anything but say "and we'll take over the world!" as a joke to my followers, and the only reason they found and recognized their friend's post was because this group was already stalking someone else's blog who interacted with me in order to harass them and call them racist for "glorifying slavery" by writing pet whump.

This was attempted gaslighting. I called it out for what it was, said I didn't appreciate it and to stop, and blocked them. That was literally it.

Then it comes out (which also can be read in link provided) from someone else that this person is part of a group of friends on a server that shit talks/stalks/group harasses whump writers they think are "bad", so not only did it come off as gaslighting, it was gaslighting. They knew exactly what they were doing in private, they knew what they meant with that comment, and they were trying to convince me it was all in my head and I made mistake, they were actually innocent and it was MY fault. That's gaslighting.

Then they got an "anon", which is super convenient they got it at the exact time they needed a valid reason to hate on someone else...but idk, even if it was real I still didn't send it. (Why the fuck would I give myself more reason to be harassed, while already being harassed? Someone was already sending shitty anons to someone else and I was being blamed, so I would have known they'd blame me too, I would have known it would make things worse, and surprise, I actually don't send anons telling people, especially not kids, to die!)

Because of this message from someone who had regularly talked to them, I don't think I'm the only person they've done something like this to,

As a victim of severe gaslighting and abuse, it's absolutely fucking DISGUSTING to say I'm being "disrespectful to survivors" just because I called out their shit for exactly what it was and they didn't like it, WHEN THAT BLUE CHAT RIGHT THERE, from someone else in the server, PROVES THEY WERE DOING EXACTLY WHAT THEY LITERALLY INSINUATED I WAS CRAZY FOR, they just didn't want to get caught and were doing all they could to make people think I was some crazy person who was actually secretly hurting them, I'm assuming so it would discredit me or anyone who interacted with me because they would then be supporting someone who "sends suicide baiting to minors," which, wow! Just...wow. Like if more people cared or believed the lies, and outside this group they sure fucking apparently didn't lmao, this really could have fucked shit up for me with random ass people spreading fuckery as someone who does that. I honestly don't doubt they'll be doing this to their new friends on their new blog too. That's also why I have to make this post in case anyone is looking at my blog.

Please now, everyone in this group, leave me the fuck alone challenge and stop stalking me and the other person (or hey, idea, anyone else) so we can leave behind this absolute goddamn embarrassment. Appreciated 🙂👍
