ok wait not to double text but also i just saw ur post about teeth🤭🤭 i rly wanna write horror fics too… they were such a big thing in my exo days i feel like n i just think they’d be fun to come up with plots for… like i think i saw u talking about cannibalism at one point i hope that was u and honestly i would love to write nasty creepy things like that maybe with smut😔😔 but i feel like ppl already shit on dark content enough i feel like thag would just go too far… but like,, its for arts sake… and i think sometimes ppl just don’t understand that. maybe it’ll be hot too, but its not meant to be realistic, and idk if ppl are mature enough for that😓
- 🥟 anon
EXACTLY, IT'S FOR THE SAKE OF ART 😭
I loved horror fics so much! Exo had so many of them, and when I used to stan BTS they had some too! (however not as many as EXO, no one did let's be real, exo quality of fanfiction is otherworldly).
Yess I did talk about cannibalism but I guess riize!Tumblr is not ready? I found the opinion shared of fem!riize really sad too, I mean it is okay to say you don't like something but what's been said is... I prefer to not comment. I find it a bit unnecessary that people try to mix the real world with the fictional one but I suppose it's just not everyone's cup of tea. Personally I've grown up with a ton of stories, not only from fanfiction but from manga, anime, books, comics, I've been in a ton of fandoms and when I was young I'd read just about anything I found on my hand so I find beauty in a lot of things that aren't conventional, I think that limiting ourselves with things like morality in fiction is too boring to be truly enjoyed! A ton of people seem to not want to use their brains to interpret, read between lines and create more from the little stories we have in the fandom, and I have to admit that I'm not a great writer, I'm no nobel prize or anything wtf, but I can add my little grain in other's stories and at least not judge authors...
Still, I don't want to say it's not okay if some don't want to go beyond what's "normal" in fiction and just read the usual stuff, I like it too, the difference is I'd never judge someone from creating something different.
Gender, sexual orientations, culture, religion, everything can go beyond the lines of what's considered normal, we've seen it happening in real life (really hurting people, which, of course, I'd never wish to happen), so why should fiction have a limit when this one stays in a world different from the real realm? Of course I'd never support certain things even in fiction, I'd rather take my eyes out and choke myself than read a smut with a minor or bestiality, but I have a whole opinion about those cases and the existence of the factor of consent (in an animal, for example, how could you describe the line of consent? There's no consent in any case, and just like that, I find that the absolute use of an alive being not able to form an opinion or voice, disgusting as fuck. There are no conversations, no real interaction between two beings with a point of being equals in the sense that they can form a thought and express it, so to force one's wishes in something or someone that feels pain but could never, in any case, voice it, think it, or explain it... That's just not something I want to read).
Yeah sadly I also think that the fandom is not ready for it, which is so sad 😭, I remember 48 hours of EXO being a masterpiece , and if there was just one for Riize too... Sighs.

This isn’t really an ask but I wanted to share something I was thinking about with you guys who show your sincere love/admiration for BTS in all you post —
Watching the past BTS Run episodes and the behind videos makes me feel a certain way not only because we get to see the boys relax and have fun (even if they get frustrated a bit haha *looking at HS and JM*), but also because I wonder how often they got to play around and do these kinds of things during the age most people do? I’d say teens and early-20s is the age when we do silly things like play mini games with friends, go to amusement parks for the first time, take a stab at cooking — and yet they were working their hardest and truly shedding blood, sweat, and tears during that time (thinking about JK makes me incredibly soft because he really started young). This show really just allows them to have fun. And it’s frustrating to see that others called the show terrible and said it was something the boys were forced to do and didn’t truly enjoy (the article saying otherwise was a blessing).
Watching “special guests” also be on the show I think highlights this feeling (of them enjoying doing these kinds of things) even more! You can see the excited ness and almost shy manners when they have others on (the voice acting, T1, and recent cooking ep come to mind). I’m looking forward to future episodes! Are there any things/games/themes you’d like to see the boys do on a BTS Run episode?
(Ah, sorry, I guess there is an ask — only if you two wish to answer it!)(Catch me listening to Young Forever now in my feels 😭)
I’ve been sitting on this ask forever and I’m really sorry for that! Especially since it’s such a good one, so thank you so much for sending it in. Maybe that’s why it took me so long, since I kind of wanted to think about it a little and offer something (hopefully) good as response.
RUN certainly offers them a bit of time in their schedules to just be silly together, play mini games and other things they normally wouldn’t really be able to do in their own time, like the zombie game episode or try a flower class. In one of the episodes of Break the Silence Yoongi spoke about how things that are mundane for us are special to them since they don’t get to do them without putting thought into how to pull it off; Seokjin spoke about how while his friends said that he’ll never have to worry about rent, he argued that while that may be true, they will never have to worry about something as trivial as walking down the street, or in one of the Bring the Soul (if I remember currently) episodes where Seokjin was apologetic about wanting to visit the zoo in Berlin since it meant that he had to take so many people with him since they were abroad, though it’s less of an issue while they’re in Korea it seems.
It’s curious how different that experience is for the members though, I mean, just look at their vacation in 2019 and how different it went for Namjoon and Jimin. While Jimin was quickly discovered and followed in Paris and Russia, Namjoon toured through Europe in a way that while ARMY from the respective countries knew about it, they kept it so low key everyone else had no idea until Namjoon posted about it himself. On the other hand, except for their finishing trip, we have no idea what Yoongi did during their vacation, or Hobi besides his CNS collab.
But, generally, it’s rather clear that none of the members would be able to just show up at Everland (an amusement park in Korea, the place where they filmed the America’s Got Talent performance of Dynamite) and have a good time without immediately being spotted, or having to heavily rely on disguises (and likely still worry about it not being enough and what would happen if they were discovered, therefore defeating the entire point of going to a place like that in the first place).
There are two sides to every medal. While yes they had and continue to have to give up on certain things, experiences and freedoms that seem so normal to the average person, something we don’t even have to think about much or can just do whenever we want (like going to the cinema at peak hours or go to McDonald’s (even one of the TXT members couldn’t do that without pictures being secretly taken of him and posted on sns and TXT isn’t nearly as famous as BTS)), they also gain a lot in terms of money but also experiences no one but them will have in such a way. They get to live their dream of being artists, of giving giant concerts all across the globe, of sharing their music with millions of people and bringing us happiness and comfort when we need it most.
More below the cut:
In one of the episodes of Bring the Soul Tae spoke about how they had the opportunities to go higher quicker, but they refused, wanted to do things their own way in their own time. It isn’t like they’ve lost control of their lives, like they wouldn’t be able to do things if they truly wanted—after all in the Bring the Soul episode where Seokjin went to the Zoo, Hobi could also walk around in the area close to the arena where they performed largely without being bothered (which might be due to his heavy disguise and security, but you get the point)—but there are limitations, and in a way, it really is a shame, but at the end of the day, many of these things are ones they’ll still be able to do whenever their fame will calm down, or fade away one day in the future. Cinemas and flower classes and amusement parks won’t just disappear, and they are certainly things you can still do once you’re thirty or forty years old, or even older than that.
But, going back to RUN, the show certainly offers them the opportunity to not have to wait until their fame passes, gives them a chance to experience and try things while also sharing that with us, work and pleasure at once. Though it’s clear that perhaps filming episodes isn’t always at the top of their priorities and I can imagine there are things they’d sometimes rather do—I mean episodes that we’ve seen being filmed in hotel rooms between concerts where I’m sure they’d rather spend the day relaxing, though they likely still prefer filming RUN over giving yet another boring and mindless interview in English, since let’s be honest, those aren’t…great, usually.
When it comes to guests on RUN, be it in form of people like the T1 members or instructors like the tennis players or the auntie teaching them how to make kimchi, it’s always so funny to me to see how humble they are about their own fame, how they get all shy as though they are meeting someone exceedingly famous instead of them being the most famous people in any room they enter. Looking at how they speak of their goals and achievements, it’s easy to see though that they’ve carefully worked on not allowing their fame to get to their heads, to remain grounded and as connected to reality as possible despite being them and how different their lives are from those of normal people. I mean, how many of us can say they were mobbed while trying to buy an iPad?
It's also so beautiful and remarkable to me how people who have met them spoke about them, like Isaac the florist who spoke about how interested they all were in the flowers and truly participated and listened, that they were extremely friendly, kind and polite, and if that doesn’t sound like Bangtan, I don’t know what does. I think this is also one of the reasons why they managed to get to where they are now, why they are so strong as a group, why they still enjoy spending time together, still manage to get even closer and deepen their friendships even after a decade has passed—they’ve remained human despite everything they’ve gone through, despite the heights they keep on reaching, despite all the awards and achievements, the number ones and sold out tours.
Tae said the following about V and his relation to Kim Taehyung in Break the Silence: Persona (the movie):
I think V can show parts of Kim Taehyung and parts of V, but Kim Taehyung can’t show V. Kim Taehyung is Kim Taehyung. Kim Taehyung is someone who’s still filled with a lot of curiosity and he’s inquisitive about a lot of things. There are so many things he wants to do. Also I think there’s so many things he is curious about.
This is the important stuff, and while I don’t have such quotes for the other members, I’m sure it’s true for them as well. Even after all this time Tae is still curious about the world, still has things he’d like to do, he’s still himself even while he stands on stage as V, hasn’t lost himself to the stage persona and the fame. We know Namjoon had a whole crisis about where RM ends and Kim Namjoon begins, and if they really are two separate things, if Namjoon even still exists or if RM has taken over his personality. I’m sure all of them had their respective moment of trying to determine who they are as people, who they are as artists, and who they want to be when they look in the mirror, how to not lose the person below the persona. We’ve also had Jungkook question his worth outside of being a BTS member, something I’m sure all of them also experienced in one way or another since it seems like such an inevitable question to ask yourself after you’ve been part of a group for so long, and yet despite it all, they all still want to stay together as BTS for as long as they can, despite mixtapes and thoughts of wanting to at least be able/confident enough to lead a concert on their own (Jungkook BE Weverse interview).
RUN gives them a chance to be them, to have fun, to be silly, to not have to constantly be on guard, to have fun in an environment where they can feel safe and are surrounded by people who have been with them for a long time and have their best interest in mind as well. There was a whole Weverse Magazine article about it, which I also wrote a post about. And yet there are people who want to take this away from them because they don’t like it while disregarding what BTS themselves want. I won’t call them ARMY since most of them are solos/akgae/mantis, and those are anything but ARMY, they’re not even fans of the one member they claim to stan, are merely caricatures of “fans” who want to “save” them, or rather take control of their lives so BTS would act exactly how they want them to. It’s obsessive and wrong, and it crosses every line and boundary of what it means to be anyone’s fan. As fans it isn’t our job to decide what is and isn’t good for their careers. We don’t know anything about the industry, while they’ve been in it since 2010, and we know nothing about their contracts or what happens behind the scenes.
As long as they are happy and have fun, who are we to question it? I don’t know about you but Bangtan have looked nothing but happy and like they were having a good time in the last couple of episodes, even when they were frustrated because they couldn’t pass a game. After all learning tennis properly and over a longer period of time was their own idea, not anyone else’s, but that’s something those people don’t want to hear anything about or will just twist somehow to fit their narrative. It truly is a shame, but also, it’s their loss if they’d rather make themselves miserable than spend forty minutes laughing along with Bangtan as they’re trying to play the harmonica or trying to cook something with less than stellar cooking skills.
As for something I’d want to see them do on RUN, that’s tricky since there’s so much they’ve already done, but something that comes to mind would be even something as silly as sitting them down and having them try to recreate all the members, or one they chose at random, in The Sims 4. It could be hilarious, and we could see how differently they’d tackle something like it. Or have them decorate a house in Sims, which would be especially interesting with our resident lighting fixtures enthusiast Yoongi. Or maybe something to do with painting, like them attending a class or just attempting to draw the same object or person. (A2: maybe given them a wall and spray cans and have them do graffiti or a mural, or have them do each other’s hair and makeup (taking it serious, of course) for a photoshoot or something like that) Or maybe a Bangtan book club where they’d discuss the same book since it would be so interesting to see what different things each of the members would find in a book and their opinions etc.
The possibilities are endless and just like you I can’t wait to see what the future episodes of RUN will have, and especially the tennis match we’ll see in next week’s episode.

Escapade Vid - The Sleuth of the Ming Dynasty
Here’s my writeup of my vid, crossposted from DW.
This is one of my two vid premieres for Escapade Con 2021. It spoils all of The Sleuth of The Ming Dynasty, specifically anything involving Wang Zhi. The discussion below is similarly spoilery.
I fell hard for The Sleuth of the Ming Dynasty, harder than for The Untamed or anything else for ages. (Okay, that's a lie, I fell that hard for Kingdom, but I don't ship anything there.) I knew I wanted to vid it for the con because it's so beautiful and because I knew a lot of people wouldn't be familiar with my favorite character via osmosis.
Sleuth is a historical mystery series (no magic/fantasy) based on a danmei novel. It has three leads: the two halves of the book ship and my fave. Facepalm.
I got into the series by knowing it was new-ish, some kind of buddy mystery series, and that fans liked it. That's it. I glanced at a poster, but I hadn't properly osmosed that there were three leads, not just two, so when Wang Zhi showed up, I naturally assumed he'd turn out to be a villain. His introduction is him driving a man to suicide. Practically the first thing we find out about him is that he's a palace eunuch with a high political position whom the politicians fear, look down on, and hate.
Could there be a more stereotypical villain for a historical drama?
So I went through a rapid progression from thinking he'd be the smiling pseudo-ally they have to defeat later to loving him and being like "They'd better not make him a villain!" to realizing I'd completely misosmosed this series.
I had a lot of feelings.
Picking a song / How I got into BTS:
Finding a vidsong for Sleuth was tricky. I had other vid ideas I could have made. I was tempted to make three vids, one for each lead (though not all for Escapade). I was tempted to make an OT3 pimping vid. My problem was that I also have had a lot of feelings about BTS this past year, and I knew I wanted to use them for an Escapade vid, but that presented a problem.
BTS… man… How to explain…
I grew up not really listening to music. My mom was a music teacher and only listened to Classical. When I eventually got into popular music, it was Enya and Alice Cooper. (Yes, syrupy Celtic crooning in various languages + shock rock is a pretty good summary of teenage me, why do you ask?) Also Cat Stevens, who was even more of the wrong generation for anyone else to care. The first time I really gave a shit about music was when I was living in NYC in my 20s absorbing the taste of someone with strong and specific music interests. I would by no means call myself knowledgeable about music.
A year ago, I tried to learn a little about BTS before Escapade so I could pick some shippy vid and stick it in the dance party. I want people to be able to go to the party and feel like they've got their finger on the pulse of fanfic-adjacent fandom even if they aren't into all of those fandoms themselves. I've never been into idol music, and it's not for lack of exposure: many successive waves of jpop and kpop idol-loving friends have tried, and I've been immune. It's the soppy ballads. I cannot. Some of the bouncy stuff is fun, but it wasn't enough.
Unfortunately for me, BTS is fucking confusing, so there was no easy 101. The only way to know anything about the fandom dynamics and which ships are popular was to know a lot. And once I'd bought in that far, I was up for some fic reading because huge RPF fandoms always have tons of AUs that are practically original fic, and hey, that sounded fun… I tried their reality shows a little bit, but my allergy to idol music is second only to my allergy to reality shows. I'm bad at getting things done if I don't sit down and commit properly, so I made myself a spreadsheet of all of their albums, guest appearances, and side projects and sat down to listen to the lot via Youtube…
They blew me away.
I didn't know. No one told me! I would never have predicted what they actually sounded like. It's not that they're good. Lots of idol groups are good. It's that they can rap. Korea has plenty of good rappers, but they're not in idol groups! I cannot properly convey the level of shock I experienced or even how and why BTS are so good. I like hip hop, but I don't know enough to describe anything properly.
When I made it to Hip Hop Lover, it all made sense. Imagine my reaction as a much more confused and incoherent version of this youtube video. Of course RM is into Talib Kweli and everyone else like that. Of course he's into conscious hip hop, a lot of it from NYC. Everything about their dense lyrics and their choice of subject matter made perfect sense after looking at their self-described list of influences. But in a way that Monq can articulate and I cannot.
I love shit that requires buy-in. All nerds do. I swear, hip hop is the nerdiest damn music there is because it's so into referencing its influences and responding very directly to other artists and to current culture, assuming the audience will keep up if it cares to. BTS know far more than I do about hip hop from here, plus they're Korean and like puns in a language I don't speak, so understanding what the actual fuck is going on in some of their songs is an adventure involving multiple youtube explainers. But they also have enough goofy dance music and rap that just sounds awesome to keep me interested even when I don't get it.
Daechwita dropped in May 2020, and holy shit, can we have a fandom just for that video? Historical architecture, hot dudes with swords, be still my beating heart. This is totally why I ended up watching Kingdom. I was dying to start learning some Korean, but then I got distracted by more Chinese media. Damnit. How do I choose?
So Escapade 2021 was rolling around, and I knew I wanted to make my Untamed vidbunny from last March, but I also wanted to vid Sleuth, and I wanted to vid it to BTS. I was now presented with my problem:
BTS is a 7-member group, and most songs prominently highlight 3-5 of them if not all 7. One might be able to do this as aspects of one character's personality, but it's very hard to make it work for a two- or three-person ship. I started looking at the rap line's songs, which have just the three of them, but even then, you're stuck saying that Character A is singer X and so on. How do I divide up the Sleuth leads? Do I make the angry one the angry one and the sunshine one the sunshine one? But the sunshine one is not the bookworm in BTS, unlike in Sleuth, and that just feels wrong!
That was when I decided to do a character vid rather than a ship one, to pick Wang Zhi, and to choose something off of one of the rap line's solo side projects. And what combination could be more obvious than tiny, angry, beautiful Yoongi paired with tiny, angry, beautiful Wang Zhi?
In the end, I did not pick Daechwita because, much as I love it, it has that kind of monotonous, hypnotic flow, and I feared I'd end up making a boring vid. I went back to Agust D's first mixtape, which is much angrier, and picked a song I felt had more obvious internal structure. I picked it mostly based on sound, as I always do. I needed vocals that I felt conveyed Wang Zhi's personality. Once I had a song in mind, I looked up the lyrics… And kept looking.
This would probably have been helped by not making the vid in like 3 days, mostly after the deadline because my other premiere dragged on way longer than I expected. Doh. Someone said that the vids were great this year because everyone had been stuck indoors with nothing else to do. I can assure you that I was my usual disaster self and was still trying to pick songs like a week before the deadline. There's always next year. Sigh.
So while vidding, I had a couple of okay but not great translations of the lyrics and at least one line I straight up did not understand. My process for all vids is to make a spreadsheet and put the lyrics down one side with clip ideas in another column. If the song isn't in English or isn't straightforward, I have other columns on the lyrics: original writing system, transliteration, translation, notes. I often have a column for song structure (verse 1, chorus, verse 2, chorus version A, chorus version B, etc.), or I might do that part by color coding chunks of the lyrics/translation. In this case, I had a lot of different columns of translation bits that moved around, and I also color coded column A based on whether there was a significant English language lyric. Here's a screencap of part of my planning spreadsheet with colors changing to show song section breaks and some clip concepts I was considering written in. (I usually end up abandoning most of my content notes once I get into actually editing a section.)
I finally found a good translation of it the morning after the vidshow. Sheesh. It wouldn't have radically affected how I vidded that part because the lyrics are so fast that you can't hit every little thing with a relevant clip and still have your audience visually parse anything at all. I still wish I'd had a better translation beforehand.
I foolishly thought it wouldn't be a problem vidding something in Korean, but it turns out I have such a hard time understanding Korean phonology that it's very hard for me to tell which bit is which even with a phonetic transcription. On top of that, most of the translations swap clause order for no good reason--"Your mother will be sad when you lose your last asset, health" instead of "When you lose your last asset, health, your mother will be sad"--despite both working perfectly well in English.
For the purposes of making the vid, I only needed to understand well enough to know how I was matching the lyrics or not, but for posting, I had to come up with something a little more polished. In the end, half before vidding and half after (oops), I have gone through with like 4 different translations, google translate, and an online Korean dictionary to cobble together something that I think is a fairly accurate translation, with clauses in the order they fall in the song, and some attempt at idiomaticness and correct tone and level of informality in English.
Lyrics translation:
The best of the translations I found in terms of being annotated and fairly easy to understand in English is this one by Muish.
Here's my version:
They call me new thang The new recruit is here: take my bags Whole world, concert Not bad, Asiana Asia You could be my new thang Different from the guys who neglect their duties Insubordination from a celebrity Damn, only the strong can fuck with me Some say I made it too easy Fuck you, I'm a thorn in the side of those guys So far from success Honestly, "SSaihanuwar" is embarrassing1 Now, we sell half a million copies a year The k-pop category Ain't big enough to hold me, whoo! 1. I straight up had no idea what the "SSaihanuwar" line is supposed to mean when I was making this vid. People said it was a pre-debut song, so I assumed he meant his skills had improved. What it actually refers to is that song bragging that they'd sold 30,000 copies, while as of this song, they were selling 500,000, so that childish bragging about a tiny past achievement is embarrassing now. Of course, as I type this, BTS sells like four million albums a year…
2. This is referencing a movie title, The Wailing, and then a famous line from the movie, which is said in dialect. I haven't seen the movie and nothing online explains the context in which "Important? You don't know what's important!" is used. If anybody's seen it, feel free to drop me a comment. Hopefully, it won't be something I'd radically change in the vid.
3. Literally 'take you to Hong Kong', which can be used like "blow your mind" in the regular sense, but is also used to mean "give you an orgasm", hence the italics on 'blow' above. Yes, it's an oral sex joke. Yes, he means it like that.
What the song means and what I did with it:
Okay, so now that we know the main lyric of this song is apparently "STD", what's it actually about?
Overall, this is a diss track. Like most BTS dis songs, the concept is: I may be an idol, but I'm still twice the man and twice the rapper you are.
I'm not the only one who was surprised to hear good rappers show up in an idol group: the underground rap scene that Suga comes out of thinks of idols as both inauthentic sellouts and as embarrassingly girly. They wear makeup and sparkly outfits. Laaaaaame.
This felt like an excellent parallel to the social position of eunuchs in The Sleuth of the Ming Dynasty: Wang Zhi is one of the most competent and ruthless, yet loyal and honorable administrators we see in the entire series. If he were running the government, all of them would be better off. He's like that version of Lex Luthor or Emhyr var Emreis that astolat likes to write.
Throughout the series, politicians and generals see Wang Zhi as less than a man and thus not a worthy enemy or not worthy of his high position, but he's twice as worthy as any of them. He's not only better at being a ruthless badass, but he's better at keeping the body count low. Sure, he's introduced forcing a guy to commit suicide… But Wang Zhi promises him his family will be spared the same fate, where normally a traitor's entire family would be wiped out. The only reason things go poorly later is that the guy's son is too stupid to realize what a favor WZ did them.
Even Tang Fan is a complete asshole to him repeatedly. In this case, he doesn't treat WZ as lesser, but he's so naive and fixated on fluffy feelings that he assumes WZ is cold and cruel when he's pragmatic or that he has no feelings when he's clearly devastated but trying to fix the situation instead of breaking down about it. TF is the worst sort of idiot who values superficial virtue over practical results. It's a good thing he's so endearing!
There's this heartwarming bit at the end of the series about how WZ learned humanity from TF and SZ or something, but it's complete nonsense: him adopting child orphans and pretty much all of the rest of his behavior for the whole series was already merciful within the bounds of their society and the demands of his position.
On to my vidding process: I laid the song out on the timeline and put markers for the sections, color coded by what type of section they were and also made the spreadsheet seen above. That helped me see the structure of the vid. One of the first parts I tackled was the opening, which is long and slow and samples another song. It feels like it should have establishing shots, and it's long enough they could get boring. I realized it was an excellent opportunity to have some text on screen. I love typography, but I normally don't do it because there's no space in the song I've chosen, and I'm making the vid on the day of the deadline and have no time to think about fonts. Poking through all the confusingly-named Chinese fonts I have installed took as long as all the editing in this section.
I then had to figure out what to do with the chorus.
Yoongi's normal rapper name as part of BTS is 'Suga'. He's from Daegu and proud of it. So his solo rapper name is 'Agust D', which is 'DT Suga' backwards. A to the G to the U to the STD is just him repeating his own name. Aside from saying Agust D = Wang Zhi, I didn't have a lot of specific ideas here. Wang Zhi has a really hot mouth, but there isn't that much in canon that's an obvious oral sex joke.
I knew I didn't want to make the vid strictly a linear retelling of canon since the point was more conceptual. I also love the emotional impact of the Yang Fu stuff, both the times it's funny and the times it's upsetting for characters, but it's hard to communicate it in a vid without spending some time, so I decided to use the choruses entirely for Yang Fu. At the very end of the vid I had more story that needed to go somewhere and no more Yang Fu (and I wouldn't have ended on Yang Fu anyway), so I had to vary that pattern.
The final verse is a 2-part one that is slow and even more sneering than the rest of the song, so I picked WZ's most idiotic enemy for that. WZ literally took away his job by killing his father, which caused him to come home from the military and his brother to be fired from his job as an official. His mother is ill because of grief, and everyone keeps telling him to go look after his family instead of chasing WZ around and trying to start shit, so the lyrics are quite apt. This guy is just not up to WZ's weight class, and that's what this verse is about.
The first two verses required more thought. They have a 3-part structure and are fast. I looked for individual Wang Zhi plotlines that matched the specific lyrics of each section thematically. There are shittons of speed effects all over this vid for obvious reasons, but I still needed to pick footage that was naturally more dynamic. The show has a fair amount of talking heads, slow scenes, and cute and fluffy stuff that didn't fit the tone here, not to mention WZ being the least important of the three leads, so selecting the correct bits of WZ plot was essential.
I originally planned to use verse 1 for the horse market case, but there just isn't enough great footage to do the whole thing, so I did the first two thirds. Section 1 has military-sounding lyrics about a new recruit taking over from "hyungs" (older guys) who neglect their duties. This idol (a celebrity) is going to show the underground rappers how it's done. I had wanted to use the 'new thang' lyric with flashbacks to WZ first getting his position at the emperor's side, but that footage makes him look too meek and doesn't connect well to anything. 'You could be my new thang' I wanted for Jia Kui, but again, there isn't good footage that communicates their relationship visually.
The general from this arc has a similar thematic role: He's a ~real man~ who cares only about duty and is rude to the effete, useless official from the capital, while the other local powers fawn on him… Except Wang Zhi responds to this by being amused, showing up the others, and approving of General Chen. (By the end of the arc, Chen is all offended on his behalf that other dudes think he's merely a eunuch instead of a total hottie capable and honorable servant of the empire.) The first section is WZ on 'new thang' and Chen on 'my new thang'. This third ends with 'only the strong can fuck with me' as Chen joins the welcome feast. Out of all of the people in charge of border security, he's the only one who's strong.
The next third of the verse is about people thinking Suga got to his position too easily, which is also something basically every official feels about powerful eunuchs in Sleuth (and also in every single other historical drama with eunuchs because holy shit is this a common trope, and also in actual history, which is why). In this plotline, WZ is there to deal with the incompetent border guards and sort things out in ways they haven't been able to. He is certainly a thorn in their sides. For this part, I showed one of the obsequious officials smiling, WZ toasting them, and Chen being unamused.
This section finishes up with Suga saying his past bragging is embarrassing because he's so much more badass now, and k-pop isn't big enough for him (which I think is less about wanting to break out of kpop and more about definitions having to be readjusted to accommodate his awesomeness). The scenes from Sleuth are WZ suddenly revealing he speaks the local languages flawlessly--something no normal official from the capital does and that he's been hiding up till now as people insult him--and then WZ resolving the case with murder and smart political maneuvering that puts one of the local chieftains in his debt. The category of eunuch is certainly not enough to encompass Wang Zhi's political ambitions or abilities.
The final section of verse 1 is using a plane/flying metaphor to talk about Suga being ahead of everyone. It also has a particularly awesome lyric in English that I wanted to emphasize. This was the last part of the timeline I filled in, and I used a scene that is not one of the major enemies WZ cares about but where he is wonderfully bossy and in charge. The guy tries to pull rank on him, and he throws away his supposed police informant badge, being like I am the police.
The second verse has the really fast part in this song, so I wanted to show a lot of different cool shit WZ does. Section one is about Suga hunting down poseurs, whether they're new or long-established and powerful. Suga says he's going to take the other rappers' "rice bowl" (livelihood). WZ similarly goes after all kinds of people, including very highly-placed politicians. The serial killer duke was supposedly untouchable, but WZ tells him he's an insect. He'll do the low-level dirty work (running around at night in ninja outfits) and the high level supervision (commanding men at the depot). The line ends by talking about other rappers' jealousy making noise. For this, I used Wang Zhi's trial where all of the politicians team up to wrongly accuse him of a laundry list of crimes.
The next line is about how Suga will bury other rappers alive in the grave they dug themselves, and they should be grateful he's an idol (because if he were a fellow underground rapper, they'd be shown up even worse). There's a suggestion in Suga's lyrics that part of the "wasting time" (digging/shoveling used as a metaphor) these other rappers have done is talking shit about him. They hurt their own reputations by doing it, and he had no desire to take them on until they forced the issue. I used WZ's introduction. That politician doomed himself by talking shit about the emperor's consort. Before he goes to meet with WZ, he talks shit about how eunuchs aren't actually powerful or scary to his drinking buddies. WZ spends the whole scene outlining how his downfall is his own damn fault.
The last section of the verse is about how busy Suga is. Losers should go bother each other, not him, because he has real shit to do. They have no idea what's important, unlike him. I opened with a quick shot of WZ's trial and then the silver case. WZ continually waves off concerns about the trial, even while he's in prison for a few days, because he's concerned about the actual problems occurring at the same time, namely that the entire government is about to go bankrupt and collapse. He's fending off assassins and getting people executed. Wan Tong's embarrassing attempt to mindfuck him in prison is laughable. They're just not on WZ's level.
I capped it off by showing the end of the plot and WZ winning. The three shots of his enemies looking upset are all from times he fucked with them earlier in the series. The final shot of him looking smug is from very early on when he'd just informed his chief rival, Shang Ming, about the suicide he caused in his intro. At the end of the vid, we're back at the beginning of the plot: Wang Zhi was always better. He would have worked with his rivals, but they just had to make it a contest. From the very beginning, they should have known they couldn't win.
The vid I’ve already posted to tumblr, but here’s the AO3 link again:

Social Media Survey
[joybucket]
What is your favorite social media site? Either Twitter or YouTube, though I never use YouTube as a social media site per se so I guess this round goes to Twitter.
Do you use...
facebook? myspace? twitter? snapchat? instagram? youtube? pinterest? bzoink? another site with message boards? tumblr? deviantart? xanga?
Facebook
Do you get on Facebook every day? Yeah pretty much all throughout the day. I used to never use it, like never ever; but back in college all announcements were coursed through Facebook so I was technically required to be on it regularly, and it was from there that I began to see memes and start to be more active. I’m a shitposter more than anything though and I rarely ever post stuff of my own. How many FB friends do you have? I have 679 at the moment but I want to get rid of like 500 of them; it’s just such a long list to go through so I never get to proceed with my unfriending spree lol.
Have you ever been on a deleting spree? HAHA I just mentioned that. I’ve always wanted to, but like I said 679 is already such an exhaustive list for me, and that’s considering I only started touching my Facebook in like 2019. I can’t imagine people who started Facebook in like 2009 and have 4000 friends aka most people I know.
Have you blocked a lot of haters? I don’t have haters; at least I’m not aware of any that I have. Not that it’s something I care about at this point.
Do you get bullied online a lot? No, but that’s also because I don’t really open the channels for people to send in hate. I don’t have Q&A handles like Curious Cat and I never pick out that option in Instagram where people can send in questions.
What's your favorite Facebook app? Oh I never use Facebook for their apps. Are those still even a thing...? Anyway, I mainly go there to be on the hunt for stupid memes I can reshare or to watch videos that are either funny or informative.
Are you a fan of selfies? I don’t mind if other people do it, but I think I’m honestly bad at selfies so I almost never take them. I’ve never figured out my angles or what filters look ok on me.
Has anyone ever called the police on you because they didn't like your status? No but I have had my posts reported because they were deemed ‘offensive.’ Which is weird because my posts that have been taken down are those that speak out against disgusting men, which says a lot about Facebook runs their shit more than anything else.
Are you in any facebook groups? I’m in nearly a hundred groups, both private i.e. for school purposes, and public.
Are you the admin of any groups? Nah. Too much time and effort needed out of me.
Do you report abuse to group admins whenever you see it? Yes. I report the post then leave the group.
What could make Facebook better? They could put more effort into detecting and banning troll farms.
What year did you start using Facebook? I made an account in 2012 because of a high school class that required us to upload this specific video-format homework onto Facebook (which in hindsight is such an insensitive homework considering that was nearly a decade ago when the Philippines was still severely behind in internet connection speeds?? Ugh). But I didn’t start actively using my account until around two years ago.
What is your current profile picture of? Myself, posing in front of the sunflowers in school during the recent graduation season.
Did you like the old Myspace better than Facebook? I was never a regular user of Myspace, so...
Pinterest
What are some of your favorite boards? I’ve never had a clue what the purpose of Pinterest was. I mean I have an account...but I’ve also never gotten the hang of it?? so I never touch it hahaha.
Have you ever done a craft you saw on Pinterest? Well no, because I’m terrible at arts and crafts anyway.
Do you have a Dream Wedding board? If so, what's on it? No.
If you have a Dream House board, what does your dream house look like? Ok fine this one I did start hahahah but I don’t even remember what I added on there anymore. I’m sure it was filled with modern-style houses with minimalist interior design.
Do you wish they'd bring the "like" button back? I’m not even aware of this option.
Do you have a Bucket List board? Not aware of this either.
Which do you like better: Just Girly Things or And That's Who I Am? The second one sounds less childish. < Same, and it sounds like it covers more.
Do you have a board for tattoos you like? If so, what are some of your faves? No. The only one I ever made was the house one, then Pinterest quickly became boring from there when I realized there wasn’t much else I could do besides making mood boards.
Do you have a "Random" or "Miscellaneous" board? No.
Have you ever reached the maximum number of boards? No.
Do you have any secret boards? No.
Have you ever had a Pin deleted because of copyright laws? No.
Do you have a Color board? No.
Do you have an About Me board? If so, what's on it? No.
YouTube
Do you have a YouTube channel? If so, what is it? Technically I do but I only have it so I can tailor video suggestions to my interests and so that I can like videos and subscribe to channels I like.
What kind of things do you post on YouTube? I’ve never posted any video on there, not even private ones. I’m also not the type to comment.
What do you like to watch on YouTube? These days YouTube serves as a stress reliever for me, which is to say I would typically go for humorous BTS-related compilations because there are sooooo many hilarious channels that make these great videos haha. Occasionally I’d go back to channels or series that I used to frequent, like Good Mythical Morning, Buzzfeed’s Worth It and Unsolved, Try Guys, Watcher, etc.
Are you subscribed to any channels? To so many.
Do you watch any vlogs? If so, what ones are your favorite? Hm probably Jiwoo’s, though her channel is called Mejiwoo. I find her content calming and conversational and basically fun to binge-watch when I’m not looking for anything super super particular to watch.
If you have a channel, how many subscribers do you have? 0. I’m just a lurker.
Will you subscribe to my channel? (msg me if you want a link!) Only if it’s really fit to my interests, I guess.
Do you watch music videos? Rarely; not a fan of MVs in particular. I only really ever put an exception for BTS.
Have you ever watched a TV show on youtube? Well no since their copyright team works hard and works fast lol. I do watch entire video game walkthroughs from time to time.
Have you ever worked out to exercise videos on youtube? No, I can’t care less about working out tbh.
Have you watched Amanda Todd's famous video? No. I’m scared that it might be too upsetting or triggering for me.
Have you ever looked up how to do something on YouTube? Not really, I prefer looking up articles that can teach me step by step in words.
Do you get a lot of hate comments on youtube? No, I’ve never posted anything on there.
How long have you been a youtuber? Never been.
Instagram
Do you post on Instagram a lot? I do 1-3 Instagram stories in a week, I would say. As for posts, I only have 4 in total and I don’t really feel the pressure to add more. I just post when I feel the want to.
Have you ever posted a poll on instagram? Nah, I’m not too sure if anyone would participate so I’ve never tried. If you don't have an iPhone, do you wish you could use Instagram? I’m pretty sure other operating systems can also use Instagram...
Do you have any followers? Around 50, I think.
Do you like Instagram filters? I’ll use them sometimes to make my stories appear prettier.
Twitter
Do you think twitter is stupid? Hehe show me at least one person who doesn’t think so. < Coming from someone who regularly uses Twitter, agree. It is crazy stupid but stupid is what I’m there for. Which is honestly not always such a bad thing to me - I like that people are more themselves, more stripped-down, vulnerable on Twitter. People always seem to want to show off their best selves on Facebook and Instagram, so I’m actually kind of grateful that there is at least one social media out there where people can just be their clumsy, goofy selves.
How often do you tweet? Probably a maximum of five a day. Nowadays I’m on there mostly to just scroll through my timelines.
Do you get on twitter every day? Yes, both on my personal and fan account.
Bzoink
Do you make a lot of surveys? I never make them but I try to take them as often as I can.
Do you take a lot of surveys? Haha sorry, was one step ahead of you. Yeah, I do.
Do you post in the message boards? Nah. I dunno if I’m even permitted to check the message boards on Bzoink considering I don’t have an account.
What types of surveys are your favorite? Categorized surveys like this one or countdown ones can be fun, but at the end of the day I like sticking to the classic random survey.
Do you have friends on here? Not on Bzoink, but here on Tumblr yes! There’s a number of people here I like keeping up with :)
Do you post all your secrets on here? Again, not on Bzoink; but yep I share pretty much everything here.
What type of survey do you think I should make next? Anything but basic/about me-themed ones that will ask for my name and eye color and weight.
Do you read peoples' answers to your surveys? I’ve never made a survey.
Do you think you are good at making surveys?
Do you try to make unique surveys?
What type of surveys do you want to see more of?

Controversial topics
Myspace
Did you have a myspace when you were in high school? I started an account in like 4th grade when Myspace was ~big, but I didn’t find it fun and everyone my age was on Friendster anyway, so I was largely inactive.
Do you use myspace now? No. Is it still even around? I have no clue.
Do you miss bulletins? I didn’t get to join in on the fun so there’s nothing to miss.
Did you like customizing your profile with the old myspace? Not attributed to Myspace but I did have a lot of fun customizing my Multiply and Tumblr accounts back in the day. That was a period where I really got to learn and play around with HTML :)
Did you have music on your profile? Not on Myspace again but I did on Multiply! I had a cute little playlist that played the songs immediately as soon as you landed on my page hahaha.
Did you learn HTML when you used Myspace? Tumblr, yeah. I believe the skills are still there but I’ll definitely be a bit rusty.
Did you have a customized cursor? Oh, no. Wasn’t a fan of those as I found them a bit tacky.
Did you use glitter graphics? Also found those tacky haha no, I never used those.
Do you remember posting glitter graphics on friends' pages? Nope.
Did you make "dolls"? I don’t recall ever making those.
Did you use photo captions? Not sure what this is referring to so let’s just say no.
Did you have a photo slideshow on your profile? Hmmm nope, I don’t think so.
Xanga
Did you have a Xanga account back in the day? No. It wasn’t big here so I had never heard of it until I started taking surveys on here and heard people mentioning Xanga, actually.
Do you have a xanga account now? No.
Did you post photos and quotes on your xanga page? I never had any.
Snapchat
Do you use snapchat? I did; I was superrrrr active on there for a time. It kind of just got old at one point, though, and my feed got more and more dead until I too just left my account dormant altogether.
What is your favorite filter? There were a lot of cute ones on there that helped me be more confident with taking selfies but my favorites have to be the dog and flower crown ones.
Tumblr
Do you understand Tumblr? I had a better handle of it when I ran a fan account that required me to be more active; but now that I really just go on here to take surveys I just use the basic functions and nothing more. But yeah, I understand just enough to get by.
Do you use Tumblr? Yeah. Even on the days I don’t post surveys, I regularly go on here to keep up with friends I like keeping up with like Elisabeth, Lane, Steph, Lina, Julie :)
Other
What forum sites did you use to love that aren't around anymore? There was one message board I frequented for this girly/tween magazine I used to collect, but I won’t share the name.
Are there any other great social media sites that you recommend? I think this survey was able to cover all the main ones I use.
Do you use a photo editing site? If so, what? I use apps instead of sites to edit my photos.
Do you ever use BeFunky.com? Nope.
Do you use a video editing site? If so, what? Nah, I rarely have to edit videos in a super intricate, detailed way. Apple’s video editing features suffice for me.
Have you ever downloaded fonts? Very occasionally since it’s never necessary.
Have you ever used photobucket to upload an image? No but I remember going on there back in the day to look for images. I never uploaded any, though.
Do you use iTunes? Not anymore. I have an account on Spotify now.
Do you listen to music on Pandora? No, never used it.

Anon again: Thank you!! I appreciate you taking the time to answer me because I am kind of active in the community but very very new. I did know your opinions but being new I just wanted to know whether those recent posts held any weight. I want to be socially responsible with my media consumption and I was worried there was something I was missing, given I have seen specific call outs for certain cast members (Travis, Laura, Sam, and Liam) recently. Thanks again!!
Anon pt2: you don’t have to post this but for context the call out posts were as follows: Travis actively supports the military, Laura voiced a black character?, Sam did brown face??, and Liam is fake woke/virtual signaling (or something along those lines). Obviously I can find out information about this for myself but I have seen more anti-CR stuff lately which prompted my ask.
As with everything, I suggest you do your own reading on those topics, and any topic that comes up in regards to the media you watch. Below is simply my opinion. Note: this gets long.
Travis does support the military - but not as an institution. He has family in the military. He supports the soldiers. He works with Operation Supply Drop and I’d encourage you to look into OSD specifically. Whether you agree with the idea that we should even have a military or not, you cannot deny that our veterans and soldiers are given the short end of the stick. We cannot just abandon them because helping them might be viewed as giving money to the military. I have so many military vets in my disability groups. The VA is awful because it has no funding (I know good people who work at the VA too, but they just cannot help everyone like they’d want to). Programs like OSD are genuinely helpful to a lot of hurting folk and the people who shit on Travis and CR for promoting and helping them out have clearly never actually sat down and talked to a vet or a soldier before.
Laura and many many other voice actors have voiced people of color in various shows. Yes, this is a legit problem. However, obviously as with most things, the problem is nuanced. The fault mainly lies with the VO industry as a whole, in that actors actually have very little control over what they do. There was a whole strike about this very topic (though the strike covered other issues in the industry as well). In the case of Laura, for instance, she was never told what her character would look like until after the fact. And that is super common in the industry. One of the things they tried to get in the strike was more transparency so that actors could make the decisions themselves whether to voice characters or not - not just based on race or culture but also based on type of work (stressful screaming vs chill dialogue) and whether the content of the game itself was something they wanted their name attached to.
Sam’s blackface scandal is extremely old news. That’s not to say it isn’t important to note, and in fact Sam made a point to note it again back in 2018. I know people who can’t watch CR because of it, even after his apology, and that’s fine because its not my place to judge others for how they react to that kind of thing. However I know a lot of people who read his apology and the circumstances surrounding it and decided to forgive. To some people, the fact that he was asked to do so by will.i.am changes the situation. To others, it doesn’t. To some the fact that he apologized and has clearly worked to improve his behavior matters, to others it doesn’t. You have to decide that for yourself. You can read Sam’s letter HERE.
Now. Regarding Liam. * sigh * I think, and again this is my opinion, that you cannot proclaim someone you do not know as ‘fake woke.’ I think there are parts of this fandom that have it out for Liam because of a whole bunch of gross reasons, many of which I’ve spoken about before. He is sensitive and a man - that makes people uncomfy. He plays a lot of women characters and tends to embody them in both personality and body language - that makes people uncomfy. He fully embraces the bi energy (this is not to say whether he himself is or not) - that makes a lot of people uncomfy (and angry). He loves theatre and loves to explore the human condition, warts and all - that makes people super uncomfy. Now. There are people who thinks he’s homophobic. Do you know why? Its because his bi character ended up with a woman instead of a man. That is biphobia, no matter how they twist it. Bi people being “allowed” to be bi and not ‘pick the right side’ in the LG (not BT, lets be real) community IS revolutionary because its so very hated.
Another reason they say he’s homophobic is because of the jokes he is often involved in - some gay men in the fandom believe that joking about sex is him ‘making fun’ of gay relationships. As a bi enby, I disagree, and I read many of the jokes he himself makes as the kind of humor I use among my own friends. I think there is a definite disconnect between bi vs LG humor and I’m not entirely sure who would be considered in the ‘right’ on that. However, when LG people in the fandom claim that he cannot talk about gay relationships because he is cishet? They cannot know that. That is an assumption they are making. When LG fans say that he alone is responsible for this issue and not -literally every single member of CR- ? I have to question whether its really the issue and not just that they still hate Liam for deigning to make a bi character bi instead of gay.
Another thing re: Liam. Aside from Marisha, he is the one I see the most hate about. People on Twitter and Tumblr both have legit uttered death threats about him if he doesn’t do exactly what they want his characters to do in the game. Usually this is about shipping. I have seen people claim that they WISH he was ‘like vic mignogna’ so they’d have a reason to hate him more. I’ve seen a certain group of people and one in particular say they have ‘dirt’ on him but refuse to say what the dirt is - and yet continually bring up that it exists, but that they just cannot say. Why would you incessantly bring up information you possess just to say that you cannot divulge such information?
Legit issues about CR that is attached to Liam is the whitewashing issue. Some say that only Liam is responsible here because he controls all the art. I would say that we actually don’t know that for sure. He is ‘Art Dad’ and clearly has some pull. I do think that CR should address this issue, but I’m not sure they can legally do what the fandom wants them to do, which is “call-out” artists by name and denounce them. Now, this too is more nuanced than the fandom makes out because its often way more about colorism vs whitewashing. Many people do not draw Beau as white, but they do draw her as much lighter skin tones than her original art. Colorism is a real problem, but white allies tend to go about talking about it wrong or making smaller things a bigger deal when POC would really rather talk about something more important to them. It was these same white allies that tore Mica Burton apart on Twitter because she liked and enjoyed a drawing of Reani, her own character, that was a few shades lighter than the drawing she herself had brought in, even after she had said that she appreciated the variety of skin tones due to seeing herself in each of them. On the topic of whitewashing/colorism in the fandom, I personally tend to wait to hear from POC over the masses of white allies.
The CR fandom is very big for a niche thing like DnD. As such, there are many many corners of the fandom that can get really jaded, really dark, and really up their own ass in regards to the discourse. There are legitimate issues in the fandom and with CR as a whole. Nothing is perfect, nothing ever will be perfect, and people should absolutely do what they can to do better and to ask their media to do better. That being said, there are also people who think that if you don’t do something exactly like they want, then you’re Problematic by default. There are also members of this fandom who have an active vendetta against certain cast members and will use any opportunity to co-opt legit issues in order to shore up their false arguments. These people are only using the real issues and it becomes clear pretty quickly that they don’t actually give a shit about the people they say they are trying to speak up for.
There is also some fandom drama that has occurred ONLY in fandom and has absolutely nothing to do with CR other than the fact that the people involved happen to be CR fans. Certain people in the fandom think that CR should arbitrate this issue and involve themselves, call out the individuals responsible, etc. This is, I believe, a GROSS misconception of what CR’s role is and asking way too much of a source of entertainment. The fact that CR has not involved themselves in this issue has led certain members of this fandom to claim that CR is homophobic. I would caution that most callouts of CR as homophobic are directly linked to this first issue, and also a callback to the Vaxleth drama from campaign one, and is incontrovertibly tied to bi and enby-phobia and a seriously sick misunderstanding of the responsibilities a show has versus the responsibility individuals have as viewers of said show.
That’s it for now. I could go way more in depth on this problems, but I’m tired of typing. Suffice it to say, its easy to make a list of things Problematic with CR, but once you actually delve into each topic hopefully you’ll realize how complicated and filled with nuance and Different Opinions going on back from the first episode of Campaign One... Listing problems without actually addressing them head-on isn’t a good way to deal with the problems that are true anyway, let alone tell them from the false ones.

I’m a sucker for good standalones, even when the rest of the season sucks, or the episodes don’t make much thematic sense in context of the season/show. Fair warning. That being said:
1x05, 1x08, 2x08, 2x12, 3x04, 4x07, 4x08, 4x10, 4x13*, 5x02, 5x11, and uhhh that’s when the show ended right**??
*For someone who hates s4, I sure do like a lot of individual episodes from it.
**There were storylines and moments I liked in s6 and s7, but no one episode stands out for me in either season.
Favourite season/book/movie:
Probably s2 or s5.
Favourite quotes:
Pretty much all the Trigedasleng lol.
“Yu gonplei ste odon.”
“Gomon gon oson.”
“Jus drein, jus daun.”
What a fun and silly conlang.
Best musical moment:
I really love this moment, where Raven takes The Chip, and “Thousand Eyes” by Of Mouse and Men plays. Lindsey does such an incredible job portraying Raven’s sorrow, pain, and desperation. It’s so chilling when the music picks up and gets louder, and Raven slowly realizes that her pain is gone, and she looks up and sees ALIE for the first time. We as an audience realize how dangerous Raven will be, on ALIE’s side, but all Raven feels is wonder and relief. I think the song really captures that feeling so well, and the lyrics reflect Raven’s motivation: “I lie awake, and watch it all/it feels like a thousand eyes.” She’s under so much pressure, mostly internal, but also external, to help her friends and make sure people she cares about survives. I love this song and I’ll always associate it with this moment.
Moment that made you fangirl/boy the hardest:
“You are wonkru, or you are the enemy of wonkru. Choose.”
Roan versus Lexa
Royal Memori Saving Everyone
When it really disappointed you:
Season 6. With the exceptions of Memori and my affection for Josephine, the season was a total flop for me. Season 7 just continued the downward spiral at an even faster rate. A few bright spots, but overall, just garbage.
Saddest moment:
Woof. There’s several.
1. Lexa’s death, obvi
2. Jasper’s death
3. Lincoln’s death
4. Monty and Harper’s farewell videos
5. Emori’s death (only so low on the list because she came back)
Most well done character death:
I got a lot of satisfaction out of Cage Wallace’s death. Lincoln deserved that vengeance.
In terms of emotional impact, I do think Jasper and Lexa’s death scenes were very well-done.
I know it’s messed up and I’m probably wrong, but god if I don’t love seeing Pike get run through with that sword.
Favourite guest star:
Alycia Debnam Carey put this show on the fucking map, and no one can truly argue otherwise. Without her, I doubt this show would’ve gone on for as long as it did. The show was carried by appearances and mentions of her right up until the very end. She even got the last word. Tell me of a more iconic guest star??
Favourite cast member:
I definitely really like Richard Harmon and Luisa d’Oliveria. I think they have the greatest chances of having truly successful careers out of everyone.
Character you wish was still alive:
Jasper. :(
One thing you hope really happens:
Well, it’s over. So nothing is going to happen again. I like the idea of some other pocket of humanity that decided not to transcend stumbling upon the Beachkru several years post-canon. And the aliens conveniently forget to actually make that sterile thing real. Humanity lives in, cultures continue to develop and grow, and there are lots of new generations to come! AKA the thing I wanted all along and really hoped they’d do, but they just kept destroying every society they met!!
Most shocking twist:
Finn’s death was really, truly so shocking to me. For one, Lexa’s death so greatly overshadowed it in fandom (at the time) that I managed to see it completely unspoiled. I also wasn’t into the BTS stuff at the time, so I didn’t know about any drama. It took me fully by surprise - I never expected the show to really kill another lead like that.
When did you start watching/reading?:
It took me several tries to start this show. Getting through those first four episodes was a tough ask for me. By the time I finished what was available, s3 was over. So I technically joined fandom during the hiatus between s3 and s4.
Best animal/creature:
God the animals in this show were silly. I liked those weird panther things.
Favourite location:
The dropship, Memori’s palace, Becca’s lab.
Trope you wish they would stop using:
Listen. I loved the callbacks at first. I fucking ate them up. But at some point, this show became so self-referential that new plotlines ceased to exist. It became almost comical. How many times did these characters need to learn these lessons??
One thing this show/book/film does better than others:
The early camaraderie of The Hundred, and the way they worked sort of against the Establishment/Adults, was a lot of fun. Other shows have done it, but I think The 100 does it very well.
Funniest moments:
Unintentionally or intentionally, lmao?? Idk, there were a lot of quippy moments. Most of what Murphy said was hilarious.
Couple you would like to see:
I always wanted them to give Niytavia a shot, but they were cowards.
Actor/Actress you want to join the cast:
I’m not super attached to any actors or actresses that would fit on this show.
Favourite outfit:
Blodreina’s red cape, Emori’s royal Naming Day ‘fit, Murphy’s sleek black formal looks, Clarke’s soda can tab jacket, Raven’s red bomber jacket.
Favourite item:
When Clarke picks up a piece of Lexa’s throne and uses it as a walking stick when she’s alone post Praimfaya 2.0
Do you own anything related to this show/book/film?:
Nah.
What house/team/group/friendship group/family/race etc would you be in?:
I mean, I feel like Spacekru is the most obvious choice.
Most boring plotline:
When they spent several episodes rescuing Clarke from Josephine. Most of s4. The back half of s3. Most of s7.
Most laughably bad moment:
When Bellamy brought Clarke back to life by repeatedly punching her in the chest, and inside of her mind, Clarke threw an axe at Josephine’s face and Josie exploded into a bunch of shards of light.
When Clarke shot Bellamy over Madi’s sketchbook and left the sketchbook behind.
When Clarke and Bellamy took turns tying each other up and putting the people most important to one another in horrible situations and it was treated like a cute little bump in their timeless friendship.
Best flashback/flashfoward if any:
I really love the Spacewalker reveal.
Most layered character:
Murphy came so far, and had so much development. I think Richard did a great job giving him a lot of depth and dimension.
Most one dimensional character:
Clarke’s entire personality and arc didn’t change at all after the s2 finale. She was a loose cannon hell-bent on saving the people she loved, no matter what the cost. The most interesting things that happened to her were almost dying and actually dying, and the main reason for that is because it gave other characters and storylines more time to shine.
Scariest moment:
That fucking creepy cage creature on Nakara that attacked Raven’s face. Seeing it through the helmet was so terrifying. Another one is that scene in s2 when Lincoln is a reaper, and Octavia and Bellamy are trying to lure him into a trap in an old parking garage.
Grossest moment:
This show was remarkably gory for its network and time slot. I can think of several. I’d rather not dwell on them.
Best looking male:
Lincoln is a babe.
Best looking female:
Gotta hand this one to Lexa
Who you’re crushing on (if any):
I mean, most of them. Half of why I watched was pure thirst. Emori, Murphy, Lexa, and Octavia all come to mind. Diyoza, too.
Favourite cast moment:
Idk I’m always partial to blooper reels.
Favourite transportation:
HELIOS. The most beautiful badass horse in the world.
Most beautiful scene (scenery/shot wise):
I mean, most of the overhead shots are really pretty, but it’s also the same five locations in Vancouver, and that really starts to show at some point.
Unanswered question/continuity issue/plot error that bugs you:
I genuinely think we don’t have time for this. I have way too many to count.
Best promo:
Nothing really comes to mind.
At what point did you fall in love with this show/book:
I was convinced to stick it out and see it through by 1x05. I truly thought it was something special by 2x08. I’ve gone up and down about it ever since.
Thanks again, Meghan!

Ahh my fish slapping comment xD lolol I am happy it makes you laugh but no reference. It's something I just have been saying since like, oof I was like 14 and on the internet? I truly don't know how or why I started saying this but I randomly did and it stuck with me ever since. Sadly not a cool backstory to the fish slapping
True, true. While you will spot similarities (as they are under the same company per se, that also means the manufacturer who creates the merch has things set up for not just one specific artists always) its how they do make it unique for said fandom. It is the first round of the new hybe rebranding so let's see how it goes for sure! I have some minor worries but I'm being optimistic! Oohhh that si also a good idea! I do know bighit did this for bts and school luv affair if memory is correct. The re-released that album for its anniversary as limited edition and I think there was some small merch for it as well. I do think that will be cool for the boys as well but as you said, we may have some minor issues with the repriting. Sometimes that can be solved but other times that cannot so sadly we don't know. I believe you can(?) Still get their older albums. Granted last time I saw this was during oh my era so I haven't checked since then via online stores.
Oohh no that makes sense! Doing bday merch isn't all too bad (granted not a western artist thing from what I have seen) but it is just well, capitalism lol. I do think they could have done the scoups (and possibly future members) differently. Like a book with pictures isn't a bad idea but idk...give me some pizzaz ya know? Like I get the simple design and I respect that but like you said, make it be related to the members personally like a cherry for cheol or tiger themed for hoshi (it would be chaotic but I would be here for it) if it is meant FOR fans. Make it seem like it has some thought besides just wanting an extra $$$ ya know? Apparently I saw that the scoups book has the letter H on the spine so some theorize that all together you get "happy birthday" spelled out which is unique if true! I just hope it is a bit ya know, something more. Not the worst but I hope you know what I mean! Ahh gotchas, gotchas. No, no thay makes sense with the svt ring merch. I think doing rings isn't a bad idea but it could have been a bit more unique to "carats" so have the ring be in either the official svt colors (so one in serenity and another in rose quartz) with something like "say the name! Carats!" Engraved into the ring, that would be I think a cute idea? A way to connect to the boys while being something unique? Of course it could be a bracelet or a necklace with a small pink or pastel blue diamond instead with a little charm with the engraving I suggested. Being too close to the rings the boys wear I think is slightly stepping lines but making a ring that is different but related to svt would be a good balance? Again just my suggestions (which am curious on your followers on what other merch would you like to see? I feel like you could so so much here! Just please no more plastic water bottles xD)
Oof yeah I think for me it is a similar time? Plus I sadly am not doing great money wise this week so I sadly have to miss out on it. But to those that will, have fun! I watched the 2018 one and it was fun (granted many stuff was cut? K believe the special solo stages weren't shown in the official vlive video) but it was a fun time so enjoy this year's caratland!
dhfjf that's fun though! the fish slapping does make me laugh 🤣
yeah i have hope for merch in the future as well! as far as old albums go i just bought my first "old" album this summer which was YMMDay and I ended up getting it used... a lot of sites have YMMDay and other old SVT albums listed but they're all sold out and as far as I know pledis isn't still printing new albums except for those on weverse shop (so like an ode onward. although i just checked and an ode and hitorijanai are sold out on WV shop too rn, idk if that's temporary or if they're permanently sold out too...). honestly this is why I'll probably keep buying svt's albums as they come out just so if i want them in the future i don't have to search for it, in hindsight i really wish I had just bought YMMDay back when it came out 😭
yeah exactly, i just wish they'd put more effort/personalization into the design rather than making it an obvious cash grab... it would be a cute design feature if the spines spell out happy birthday! and yeah exactly instead of the ring they could have done something else with its own meaning 🥺
I'm also interested in other carats merch ideas... whenever i see ppl talking about it i feel like they have such good ideas. and there are some carats on like twt and such who do merch resigns or theoretical concepts just for fun and they always look soooo good. honestly pledis/hybe just hire some carats for your merch team... DHGKGJG
caratland has come and gone which once again shows how long it took me to answer this DHFKGJ i know i don't have to explain myself but just to give you an idea of what I've been up to i was on the road for a week coming back to the Midwest and then going my sister's graduation ceremony and seeing family i haven't seen since before covid, then i moved into my apartment and spent a week settling in and catching up w a few friends i haven't seen since before covid, and today was my first day of classes! so I've been a bit busy and socially drained (but in a good way!) the last few weeks. but i did enjoy caratland! especially perf. units cover of chocolate, that lives in my head rent free DHFKGJ i think the links i posted before got taken down though, I'll need to update those at some point... did you have a favorite part from caratland if you watched it? (or from any clips you've seen djfkgjg)

(OPINION)
-FINAL- Episode 12 - The last episode is here. I didn’t want to ruin the mood before but weirdly I can always tell it’s Jay by the back of his head. Seeing all the eliminated members again feels warm and I feel like the I-Landers are working harder seeing them. YES MY BABY GETTING THE MOST VOTES IN KOREA!!! YESS. You can also tell where Jay feels attached - Heeseung and now Jungwon. I’ve been seeing him with Jungwon a lot. But Jungwon, it can’t be a Niwa talks without rambling about Jungwon. But I like everything about him. Sunghoon’s rationale and Jay’s emotional drive. I like them together. Niki being chic as fuck, ‘I think Jay wanted part 4.’ I mean, Jay wasn’t exactly secretive. Naww, he didn’t get it. But Sunghoon’s always number 5 and Jungwon is almost always number 3.
Niki is really amazing. Wow how can he be so fast. The fact that I knew it was Jungwon with that bloody teddy bear sheep head thing. I love how much they’ve opened up. Especially Niki. Jay’s self promo thing wasn’t actually too cringe. Also K’s laugh in this, I adore him. The people in the background of the self promo like working with cameras and stuff are working harder :D He hasn’t made me laugh this much until this moment when he’s dressed up as a bloody sheep and tripping over in the grass during a competition hahhaa. Why are they all so funny today? Jungwon, too has let go and just teasing them.
Yess now I can figure out how to fucking pronounce Enhypen properly (Nevermind it’s how I’ve been pronouncing it anyway) Also, Jungwon suits orange unbelievably well. Like fuck off Jungwon, we get it. Sunghoon crying. OKAY DON’T ATTACK ME BUT I’LL SAY THIS HONESTLY - BTS this time, scared me. They felt like they were on the other side rather than being with them like other times. Like they’re probably tired and exhausted and all that but I felt a bit disconnected from them and instead I wanted to protect the boys I had become so fond of so quickly. Oh Sunghoon please don’t cry like that.
THEY’RE ALL RETURNING!! BUT YAS MY BOY IS GOOD LOOKING MF. This is making me so emotional. Like they look so happy and they’re playing games together and yes, like a proper reunion. Okay now the presence of BTS isn’t so scary. But I think in their case they’re most comfortable with each other rather then other people. But they’re loosening up now and laughing so it calmed me down instantly. There we go. There’s my family. I think Jay and J-Hope do a good job of connecting the two groups. TXT are so happy. I wish they’d have a chance to speak more though. HEESEUNG. CONGRATULATIONS. NIKI. CONGRATULATIONS. JAKE. CONGRATULATIONS. (BREATHE) JAY, CONGRATULATIONS. (YESS FIRST BIAS YESSS) JUNGWON GOT FIRST YES JUNGWON YES. THAT’S WHAT I LIKE. WOOH. THAT’S MY BOY. SUNGHOON CONGRATULATIONS. Too be honest I forgot I was even writing this post I got so immersed. SUNOO, CONGRATULATIONS.
Finally,
To K,
Thank you for your presence honestly. You were a pillar in this competition and the embodiment of comfort, diligence and knew where to set your eye. Honestly without you, I think the lineup would be very different. You’re someone everyone can learn from. I can’t wait till your debut and will be at the edge of my seat for it! You’ve worked hard. I love you.
- Niwa
To Daniel,
From the very first episodes you were someone that caught my eye. Both on stage and off stage. On-Stage you were very fun and had such a pretty vocal colour. Off stage you were a comforting and hardworking member. You were someone I was rooting for the whole way. You’ve worked hard. I love you. DEBUT!!!!!
- Niwa
P.S I’ll probably do a little final thoughts and letter to each Enhypen member ( a small one, I’ll write a proper one later, a more personal one like Jay wrote) and my little analysis of each Enhypen member and their character.
LOOK AT MY ENHYPEN BOYS. I’M PROUD OF YOU. YOU’VE WORKED SO HARD. I LOVE YOU. NOW FOR THE WORLD...
Oh my god I hated the whole egg thing at first, but now I miss it.
YAY - NOW THEY’RE ENHYPEN.

BTS Full Set Reactions/Kink List: Porn Habits
Ask:
sweet-teeth-mfs said: BTS FULL SET Reactions/Kinks List: BTS & Porn Habits 🥴🔪🔥
Warnings: If you haven’t guessed it, this post will be discussing porn habits so will contain sexual references.
A/N: This is my first ever reactions post so I hope I do this justice. I’ve been reading from all of the blogs I know who do reactions well, so let’s put this to the test.
Let’s start with our leader.
Kim Namjoon.
He has unashamedly been open with his porn habits, including using his Dad’s ID to access such sites when he was underage (I mean who doesn’t?). And let’s be honest, there’s nothing to be ashamed of either. Porn is porn. Everyone has their own tastes or levels and therefore, everyone watches or reads it in some way.
youtube
So what would he watch? TBH, I racked my brain for a while with this one and there’s only one answer I can think of.
ANYTHING and EVERYTHING. He’s been watching it since 2nd Grade so he must have quite the collection by now. There’s only one limitation for Joon, Hentai would be a hard fap for him.
Joon likes to see everything and have an element of powerplay, so anything with a POV angle would be perfect. I think he’d watch porn from anywhere and he’d watch it at anytime or place. He would openly share his porn stash with the other members if they asked (except the personal collection he’s filmed for himself).
He’d watch it with you too, paying attention to what you liked and disliked, almost using it as research for his session with you later. Would definitely film his own stuff but from his POV so he can watch it later, making sure to keep your face out of it. Not because he wouldn’t like it, but he’d be concerned he’d accidentally saved it to the shared folder.
Joon would be more than happy to send content to you too. Once he knows what you like, he’d film for you just as much as you do for him. When sending Joon video, be sure to call his name or call him ‘Daddy’. He loves that.
Kim Seokjin.
Jin being the eldest of the group has certainly figured out a few things about what he likes and dislikes. He would’ve also figured the best way to sneak in a session without being caught out.
Jin prefers to watch in complete privacy and when at the dorm, would leave his room to use the locked bathroom instead. He’d also take his headphones to ensure he could hear the moans. He’s very visual (and if into women) definitely a breast man. They don’t need to be massive, just feature a lot and although 99.9% of men love a cum shot to the face, I think Jin would prefer one to the tits.
He also prefers to watch something from the DOMs angle. Not pain or abusive in any way, but something that demonstrates a more domineering side that he can relate to. He wants the other person to succumb to his charms and his porn would need to do the same.
Jin wouldn’t film with you but would ask for some Facetime while he was away, specifically so he could see your face and the shapes it would make when you cum.
Min Yoongi.
Yoongi would normally be typecast into some really dark stuff. However, I gave this some more thought as there’s more than meets the eye.
Yoongi loves sound and would ask you to send recordings he could listen to while in the Genius Studio. But don’t fake it, he would know and hates overelaborate screamy ‘porn sex’. It would be a rare opportunity for him to watch videos so ASMR is perfect for him. Just playing it on his headphones and everyone would fully believe he’s working on something.
When it comes to visuals, he would definitely prefer to have videos sent to him than searching online. However, he’d have a personal stash that he’s filmed when you’ve been together of his hands and tongue doing things to you. He’d actually send these to you along with a message like, “wishing I could do this to you right now”.
Yoongi would purposefully film with you for when he’s away, ensuring he’s got you spread and shining over his cock or taking you from behind so he’s got your ass in shot.
He NEEDS to see and hear everything so when you send him a picture or a quick video of you playing with the toy he bought you, make sure to spread for him showing how wet you are and display your slick covered fingers to the camera. Also, tell him how much you need him instead of your fingers or toy.
Jung Hoseok.
Did someone call for Daddy? Yes, Hobi loves his stash but actually prefers to find something new each time. He’s very open to new things and would probably try everything once, but as soon as he sees something he doesn’t like, he’ll find something from his collection.
He’s definitely a curves man, would prefer to watch something with more movement and rhythm. The person at the centre of all of this would need to have a sexy vibe more than a distinct feature. Would totally follow the same porn star once he found one he liked and would watch anything from that person, even the masturbation films, which are probably his favourite.
But there’s one very important factor. Unlike most guys, Hobi doesn’t like cumshots. He would much prefer to watch someone take a load in their mouth, display and swallow so he can see it slide down their throat. Therefore, would totally film you sucking him off to watch back later.
If you’re sending him something while away, he would love to watch you get off. Use your toys, get the suction cup to stick it to the floor and play for the camera Bish. He’d want to see you wind and grind on that thing.
Park Jimin.
Ok, this one was fun because most of the web sees Jimin as this cute little angel (Which he is... sometimes) but he totally isn’t 100% angel. His dirty mind could write some serious fanfics which brings me onto his porn.
Jimin likes to be able to relate to real couples and would most likely read erotica so he can imagine everything in his head. Most likely to frequent Wattpad and AO3 on a regular basis. He’s not into anything overly romanticised, he’d be more 50 Shades than Mills and Boon, but when it comes to visuals, he prefers homemade content with real couples. Not just any old homemade content, he’s looking for the gagged and bound section for when his inner DOM needs power.
As a result, he would totally film his own DOM stuff and not just with his mobile phone in hand. He’d have it on the bedside table or at the end of the bed so he can go hands-free, slapping your ass or pulling on your leash throughout. Jimin would want your cum face in full view so he can recall the feeling of you tight around him. He’d even edit the sections together so he’d have snippets he can refer back to rather than the whole session.
When it comes to sending Jimin something to take a load off, send him a masturbation video praising him to the ends of the Earth when he’s feeling DOM. Tell him how good he feels and how your fingers aren’t enough.
For is inner SUB, you need your ASMR skills because he wants to be hands-free. Record some audio for him to listen through his headphones, moan for him but with stern instructions, tell him he’s been bad (or good) and when he’s allowed to cum. It’ll keep him going for days.
Kim Taehyung.
*Cracks fingers* - KIM TAEHYUNG … *tsk tsk tsk* - where do I even begin with him? Shall we start from the light to the dark?
Tae needs some plot. A little bit of backstory. I’m not saying he’s after something like overly romanticised, but something a bit “Eyes Wide Shut” or “Secretary” would totally shuttle his cock. Would regularly watch international porn so he can get lost in the language, especially French or Portuguese which sounds erotic in its own right. Anything that includes plenty of foreplay and shows the main character writhing to meet hip to hip gets him going.
Oh, why did I say “Secretary”, yes, because Tae likes it dirty and would be open to the more quirky aspects of porn. Powerplay to the point she pisses at the desk? Yes, total turn on. It’s not the physical act, it is the meaning behind it. The power that’s portrayed in the DOM and the loyal submission that’s apparent from her. So whether he’s watching anime or something dark, don’t just take it at face value.
Tae would be open to filming yourselves if you are. He’d get really into the role, discussing boundaries and buying something special for the main event. He’d even set up the room with lighting and get you in the mood beforehand, so it’ll feel very art house. You’d both watch it together and alone, but he’d love to sext you on the regular while away.
Jeon Jungkook.
Be warned. To me, Gguk is a little Antonie de Caunes (search Eurotrash TV Show if you don’t know who that is) so this is going to be a little bit fun!
Jungkook idolises Joon, so I think he’d totally steal his stash on the regular. Sheepily asking, “got anything new?” when the hard drive is shared for his alone time. Loves everything and tries everything once. If he likes it, he’d want to try it out too. It’s actually easier to recall what he doesn’t like, which is nothing!
Seriously nothing is out of bounds for him. Girl on girl action, hell yes! Big titties? *motorboats* Anime, yeah why not? Fake taxi? Yeah, sure. We’re talking full on cheese, but interestingly, he’d watch this with Tae and Jimin for fun and not to get off. It would be like watching their own version of Eurotrash!
However, when it gets a little too much for everyone, they’d slink off separately and get the good stuff.
Gguk would find the masturbation videos to watch on his own and he’d prefer these than anything else. However, he does like to film his own POV when he’s with you. He is GCF of course.
He’d film when he’s both DOM and SUB but most importantly would want a new film every time he goes away. He’d film you riding his cock when you’re on top, your hands on his chest as you whip your head back all while he’s calling you Noona. But, he’d also film when you’re spread beneath him, begging to be taken by Daddy.

👫 lana & dom
send a 👫 and I’ll write four headcanons i have about our muses’ relationship.
lana buys lots of things on random whims n i feel like smthn she wld have bought the summer her n dom started properly seeing each other is a polaroid camera. probably one of those fujifilm mini ones in pink w stickers on of holographic mermaids n butterflies. n all her friends wld be subject to hving their photos taken on this at 447294734 parties but fr the most part like 50% of the film wld be spent on dom esp considering how often they’d see each other. i cn imagine her being annoying abt it e.g. bursting in unannounced when he ws showering n flinging the curtain bk n shrieking in delight as she tkes a pic of him in there. penis NOT in shot (lana ws very disappointed when she realised altho inevitably dom ws relieved). it ws probably rly blurry too from her springing out of nowhere n running away after she’d dazed him w the flash bt lana wld never dream of throwing it away she’s probably like ugh cole sprouse WISHES he ws me tht stupid i’m weird i’m a weirdo bitch i’m taking his photographer crown n i’m loving it..... another time if she ws wearing his tshirt or smthn jst to laze around in she wld have tried to convince dom to wear her cropped bowie t-shirt she usually lounges in she’d b like OUTFIT SWAP!!!! like it ws a reality show segment. she’d do his hair w her strawberry clips n everything n wna take a polaroid of tht as well. a majority of these polaroids wld b taken w her sat on top of him in bed peeping thru the viewfinder n grinning sickeningly wide after. she’s bad at organisation bt she wld keep very close track of these polaroids n treasure them a lot bc they’d document a summer where she was rly rly happy. probably took them with her to la too she jst has them hidden somewhere.... idk if she’d ever b able to bring herself to throw them away to b honest
i jst had this vision of lana n dom taking franklin to the park n i already told u abt how she’d tell franklin tht she gives the flowers all their own names n say he shld come up w his own names fr them too bc it’s more fun tht way bt. i cn imagine if they saw two bees trying to pollinate the same flower n like buzzing close to each other if franklin pointed it out lana wld gasp n be like OMG they’re in love. they’re married bees. u can tell frm how bright their stripes r they’re extra yellow n glowing like the sun tht’s what happens. tht means they’re in love franklin. n idk if franklin wld say this or not bt if he asked what loves like lana wld b like hmMMM well. love’s kind of like being first in the queue fr the best rollercoaster. or licking the sugar off ur fingers when they’re all sticky frm candy floss. going to the zoo n getting to see all ur favourite animals on a day tht’s sunny but not TOO hot. enough to give ur nose freckles bt not burn ur shoulders. make u feel toasty like ur inside a cocoon. n love’s like........ she’d pause here. she’s crouched dwn on his lvl as she says this mayb dom hs walked off to get them ice creams n she briefly lks at him in the distance as he’s paying before lking bk at franklin. scrunching her nose playfully as she tries to stall. when she hesitantly continues she’s like. n love’s like getting home after tht perfect day at the zoo n finally getting into bed w fresh sheets when ur sleepy n ur eyes r all droopy n heavy. the pillows r fluffy n it’s safe n warm n all of the gd in the world at once. i think love’s like tht. it’s jst.... nice n stuff. n she’d jst be like :) afterwards realising she’d rambled on n change the subject like hey lk at that BUTTERFLY franklin............. bt i jst think this is. particularly heartwarming to me bc not only wld she have been basing tht on hw she feels abt dom bt. in the past love ws always a thing w barbs tht hurt her whenever she tried to hold it n.... he jst rly transformed her idea of being loved by someone into smthn safe n reliable n consistent......... smthn she cld actually make a home out of instead of constantly hving an eye on the door in case they leave / she needs an escape route..... a relationship isn’t a scary concept w him
lana n dom r like. opposites when it comes to social media esp instagram...... dom jst nt even knowing hw to use it n lana posting so regularly hving a small following fr her fashion n whtever.......... i feel like lana wld try to teach him how to use it bt it wld consist of a lot of her being like no that’s--.... dom that’s--.... that’s not ri--.... n jst throwing her head bk n cackling so much she wld b rly endeared by him being clueless abt it she’d be like ommmmmmmmmg it’s ok i’ll b steve jobs n u can be my sexy assistant tht just has to strut besides me like a car dealership model whenever i go on stage to debut the nxt technological advancement. dom wld have to be like... isn’t he dead? lana wld gasp so suddenly n be like omfggggggggg tht explains why me calling this tech nerd wearing a turtleneck steve jobs lst week bombed so hard mayb he thought i ws telling him to die..... dom’s probably like... i doubt he thought tht lana..... she wld laugh at the thought of this anyway n change topics jst the worst attention span already over it. ALSO this is instagram related bt.... bev.kingston wld rly centralise her hate crusade onto dom when it became clear they were dating / things gt mre official n serious. mostly lana wld b like this is so funny n dumb bt.... i think she wld dm bev.kingston one time being like. ok all jokes aside can u cool it a little on the dom hate not to b gross bt he makes me rly happy n i dnt want him to b sad if he ever advances beyond a technological grandpa n sees all this stuff. bev.kingston wld literally screenshot this n post it on her insta like LANA AND I HAVE BEEN IN CLOSE CONTACT I HAVE DECIDED EVANS BOY IS ON TRIAL BASIS EVEN IF I HATE IN MY HEART AND KNOW FREYA IS ONE FOR HER n she’d update her page like 21/08/2020 LANA DM’D ME ABOUT EVANS BOY (or whtever the date ws) n it’d be sm. lana wld b embarrassed she’d try to get her to delete it she’d b like fk my fking life ur sick bev ur lit rally sick.....
lana treats halloween as a week long celebration she goes to sm parties tht she literally hs to have like..... 482759872 costumes planned each yr. n fr one of them. she’d b like let’s go as each other :) n she’d dress as an angel n he’d dress as a devil. she’d put on red lipstick before they went purely to “help w his costume” n it’d jst consist of her leaving lipstick prints on his cheek n neck n hip even if. his hip wsnt visible w the top he ws wearing she’d b like dom listen.... listen. it’s literally part of the vision n it’s necessary......... it doesn’t matter if ppl can’t see it we’ll both kno it’s there n it’ll elevate the look so mch...... w that attention to detail u cld even b in the running fr winning a prize...... then she wld take the lipstick off like it wldnt even be part of her outfit she only put it on to do this specifically. she’d insist on them getting a photo tgether n it’d b a bit gross it’d b a whole thing she jst.... wld b very proud to b seen w him she’d show him off a lot.... if anyone complimented her outfit she’d b like ya n have u seen dom he’s a devil we match :) n if there ws another pair tht had worn the same which i mean there probably might it isn’t a hugely original concept bt lana wld be like......... ummmmm tht guy is the most pathetic devil i hv literally ever seen..... if she ws drunk she might even b like ummm.... hw does it feel fr dom to be a sexier devil than u............... does it sting? jealous i bet....... n dom wld have to b like lana please.... im sry abt her.... u lk gd haha...... cushioning the blow. taking her hand n leading her away. n lana is jst tittering n murmurs in his ear like. he knew it ws true u cld see it in his eyes. he knew u lkd better than him.

YOONJIN
Every Single Sparkling Thing - sinkingmyships Seokjin/Yoongi. "Of all the kinds of magic, Seokjin prefers enchanters’ magic most. Loves the power to entrance and beguile, captivate and mesmerize. Loves walking into a room and knowing everyone wants to be him, be with him, or be on him. Yet of all the kinds of magic, Seokjin practices enchanters’ magic least. It’s just that he doesn’t need magic to charm people. He’s good at that all on his own." 32,000 words.
Path/Road - misspamela Seokjin/Yoongi. "“I don’t like parties,” Yoongi said suddenly, like he was confessing something. “And I’m pretty sure two people doesn’t really count as a party.” “Well, fine, if you’re going to get pedantic about it.” Seokjin threw his arm around Yoongi’s shoulders. “Then this is the best date I’ve been on in months too.”" early days! 2300 words.
the growth cycle of a narcissus - moonbaby (autopsyofwebs) Seokjin/Yoongi. "Seokjin sits cross-legged on his home couch. He takes a sip of whiskey in a wine glass, pinky slightly lifted, and lets out a gusty sigh of satisfaction. He turns to face the camera; his eyes flash conspiratorially. “I’m Seokjin, but you can call me Jin. I’m the most handsome guy you’ll ever meet.” He winks. (A Queer Eye AU where at first, nobody is quite sure why Kim Seokjin, self-proclaimed Worldwide Cutie Guy and a handsome, successful office manager, has been nominated for the show, until the Fab 5 actually meet him." 13,000 words.
Worldwide Lonesome - loindexter Seokjin/Yoongi. "After the BBMA, Yoongi starts bringing guys back to the house." Really good story about coming out and living in the public eye and idol life. Great Jin voice. 40,000 words.
my safest sounds - prosperousends Seokjin/Yoongi. "Min Yoongi and Kim Seokjin are a part of the same podcast network, but have never personally spoken to each other—until they find themselves asked to swap shows for an episode. The venture turns out to be more involved than either of them thought it would be." good!! 31,600 words.
Let's only walk on flower trails - rhythmsextion Seokjin/Yoongi. "In which Yoongi devises a plan to win the heart of the town's hot bank manager. And it doesn't quite work out like he'd hoped." small town puzzle hunt. 10,100 words.
Time After Time - august_d Seokjin/Yoongi. "Min Yoongi is a part-time coffee shop employee, part-time author. Kim Seokjin was born in the wrong generation - literally." Jin travels from 1988 to 2018 by accident and Yoongi covers for him by saying he's his boyfriend. 41,900 words.
Echo Chorus - smiles Seokjin/Yoongi. "Persuasion AU. Five years ago, Seokjin was persuaded to break up with the only man he has loved, brilliant producer and adoring boyfriend Min Yoongi. Now, just as Seokjin's record company is failing, Yoongi returns, cold and seemingly indifferent. As they continue to circle around each other and navigate the idol world, Seokjin must determine his future, and if Yoongi has a place in it." 95,700 words.
Table for Two - Zee Yoongi/Seokjin. "The sign on the restaurant door promises a free entree to any customer who is there on a date. Yoongi doesn't know how they determine whether or not people are there on dates, and doesn't know how this venture could possibly be profitable for them. He just knows that he could never afford eating there under normal circumstances and that he is deeply sick of ramyeon." 3700 words.
Crashed the Wedding - smiles Seokjin/Yoongi. ""I'll explain it slowly so you can understand. My wish is to travel to the future to my own wedding, get in, see who I'm marrying, find them in the present and get rid of all the middle junk. Understand?" In which Seokjin makes a wish to crash his own wedding and it actually comes true." Delightful. 3800 words.
Love and Muffins - weakforjin Yoongi/Seokjin. "Bakery owner Kim Seokjin wants to get a tattoo. It's a good thing his store is attached to a tattoo parlor. No literally, it's attached. The wall is basically made up of an incredibly large glass window. Pretty convenient for Seokjin since he can ogle the attractive tattoo artist Min Yoongi while he works. Also, everyone else is in love with Hoseok." 3100 words.
A Gilded World - smiles Yoongi/Seokjin. "Jeon Seokjin has exactly four weeks to stop the impending engagement of his younger brother, doomed to a loveless marriage. The only way to stop it is to make a better match, more advantageous, more lucrative for the Jeon family. It's impossible. It's his only option. Min Yoongi does not want, will never want, will never ever even consider, marriage. It's not in the cards. He's stubborn enough to achieve the total ban on marriage talks. Except maybe his grandmother is a little more stubborn than he is, and maybe she's determined to see him march down the aisle. The chaebol arranged marriage au that exactly one and a half people asked for." A really classic 'mutual pining while married' story that hits all the right beats consistently well. 168,700 words.
Rumor Has It - smiles Yoongi/Seokjin. "Due to a misinterpretation of Yoongi's newest song, the public and press think rapper Yoongi completely dissed idol Jin in his newest release." 2300 words.
we are all fools (in love) - kaythebest Yoongi/Seokjin. ""How are you, uh, doing?" Yoongi shoots him a weird look. "You mean after the proposal went horribly wrong and you shot me into the dirt?" Seokjin sets his jaw. "You deserved it." [Or: Yoongi and Seokjin are both prideful and prejudiced but maybe with time, things will turn out alright.]" 3000 words.
the night is still young (and so are we) - pagdiwa (neko11lover) Yoongi/Seokjin. "Summer 2012. They’re so, so close to debuting. Yoongi knows that he won’t be able to forgive himself if he let Kim Seokjin leave." 6100 words.
I Sought A Muse (But The Words Just Wouldn't Come) - sinkingmyships Yoongi/Seokjin. "Yoongi is, quite frankly, sick of photographing Taehyung's tongue, and the deadline for his photography project is approaching faster than he really wants to admit. He needs a new model. The first person to answer his ad—his name is Seokjin, if Yoongi remembers correctly—sent a message with something super vain like "cameras love my face," which should be an enormous red flag, but Yoongi's getting desperate. And in any case, if it's true, it'll just make his job a lot easier." 14,000 words.
come back tomorrow (and the day after too) - Trotter Seokjin/Yoongi. "Seokjin is an actor who MCs a variety show called Eat Jin. His show's successful-- but like every other show on the circuit, he's never managed to book the international superstars Bangtan Seonyeondan, who are notoriously picky about their variety appearances. He never expects that his shot at getting BTS on his show will come when it turns out BTS's Suga is a fan of his acting." 7000 words.
until there are no more cities - squeen Yoongi/Seokjin. "Seokjin has pillow creases in his cheek and his eyes are puffy, still closed as he slowly rolls onto his side. Yoongi lies next to him on his back, turns his head towards Seokjin’s sleeping face, whispers, Kim Seokjin, I think I could fall in love with you." They meet on the Siberian railway. 6700 words.
wanna be yours, now - dollyeo Yoongi/Seokjin. "This is not how Yoongi planned his grand love confession to go." He takes Seokjin out to dinner and Seokjin tries to guess who he's interested in. 1600 words.
hold the press, I wanna get off with you - Finedae Seokjin/Yoongi. "Seokjin's an idol, visual and vocal of popular boy group BTS. Yoongi's a hip-hop artist and producer. They're not supposed to be together, except when they are--hands all over each other when they show up at underground parties, the new hot 'couple' except--they're not together together, of course not. that would be ridiculous." 4300 words.
Heartbeats - bulletproof_bad_wolf Yoongi/Seokjin. "They were different, he and Yoongi. Yoongi was rough around the edges but soft on the inside. Jin was smooth to the eye, but if you looked closer, there were jagged thoughts and complicated twists just under the surface. They were different, they were opposites, but there was a balance, just like he’d thought there would be. For all their differences, they approached music the same way, and held some of the same philosophies on life, so it seemed. There was enough common ground there to build on. They’d be friends, Jin knew that much. Friends and collaborators." 17,000 words.
Building Hearts - iamnotaprodigy Yoongi/Seokjin. "Seokjin’s roommate breaks everything in their apartment. Luckily, the Engineering major next door is cute and willing to help. Otherwise known as, the first time Namjoon actually managed to help create something instead of destroy it. The “my roommate breaks everything and my cute neighbor fixes everything” AU." 12,800 words.
Eat Your Heart Out - bazooka Jin/Yoongi. "Okay, look - all Seokjin wanted was to get into the wedding expo with a fake fiance and try all the free cake. He didn't mean for all of this other stuff to happen." 6000 words.
TAEJIN
bring me some reckless times again - pearl_o Seokjin/Taehyung. "Seokjin makes a series of snap decisions, starting with going over to talk to Taehyung. Somehow, they all turn out pretty well." Kinda making their exes jealous but not really. 3500 words.
my best decision - madanach Seokjin/Taehyung. "“You’re a menace,” Seokjin says. “You come here—you wake me up from my sleep—to do these things versus me. To do the things that you do, against me, specifically.” “All I did was call you pretty,” Taehyung says. “And say that when I was seventeen I wanted to kiss you.”" 3700 words.
on the boundary - brightlight Seokjin/Taehyung. "Honestly, Seokjin should have known things would escalate. One of Seokjin’s favorite things about Taehyung is that he’ll always play along with whatever dumb shit Seokjin says, so he always does it back to return the favor; Seokjin loves an enabler. So when Taehyung calls him on fucking Valentine’s Day and says, “Hyung, Bottoms Up is no cover tonight if you come as a couple,” Seokjin thinks, Yeah, okay, this makes sense." VERY GOOD. 5900 words.
Wake - AlixSkyeDawg Taehyung/Seokjin, Namjoon/Jimin, Jungkook/Hoseok. "Taehyung wanted to bite out that the only thing that would help is her not being dead. He wanted to shriek that a fucking beach resort was not going to suddenly fill the void her death had left. He wanted to rage that forcing him to come to an island in the first place was doing more harm than good." island holiday soap opera. 72,100 words.
seven - tastelessfool Seokjin/Taehyung. ""Seokjin and I were talking last night, and we ended up deciding on dating each other on a trial basis.” “Seokjin? Your roommate Seokjin?” “Uh huh.” “Your first and only best friend Seokjin?” “That's the one.” Jimin gapes at Taehyung for a long moment. “What the hell's a trial dating?” alternatively, Seokjin and Taehyung try dating each other for seven days." 11,000 words.
rent-a-bed - tastelessfool Seokjin/Taehyung. "Seokjin is very broke and very drunk when he's offered a proposition he can't refuse from a stranger at his party- to actually rent his bed. He's not convinced all of this isn't a fever dream." Cute and silly. 10,000 words.
Took No Time With the Fall - Trotter Seokjin/Taehyung. "It says a lot about how lazy Seokjin and Yoongi both are as people that they keep being friends after they break up." 6400 words.
To pay the rent - AwkwardBeansidhe Seokjin/Taehyung. "The job of an extra is to enhance the scene, not steal it, but when Kim Seokjin and Kim Taehyung sit down on set to talk, they can't help but draw the attention of the whole room." 3900 words.
NAMJIN
you make the sea bass drop in my heart - oliviacirce Namjoon/Seokjin. "He looks back down at the contract, reading through the details again. Sea Life of Hawaii, blah blah blah, three weeks, blah blah blah, travel, housing, catering, salary—nice, nothing to complain about there—Co-host: Dr. Kim Namjoon, Professor of Marine Biology. "He's an asshole," Seokjin says. "He's an insufferable know-it-all who thinks he's better than everyone else because of his big fancy degree and his big swollen head and his big—" He cuts himself off ruthlessly, and finishes, "And he hates me."" 7100 words.

"Separated since a young age, identical twins Taehyung and Jungkook grow up believing they’re the only child to their respective single dads, Namjoon and Seokjin. Until they meet at summer camp and decide to swap identities and go back home as each other for the following reasons: 1. It’s fun ok 2. Jungkook has a hopeless crush on classmate Jimin but is too shy to talk to him so Taehyung decides to take matters into his own hands 3. They’re curious what their other dad is like 4. Again, it’s fun ok and 5. Maybe… just maybe, they can get their dads back together again. [CHAT FIC] [The Parent Trap AU]" if you can roll with the premise, this is fun. 49,100 words.

just hold on, we're going home - cosigned Namjoon/Seokjin. ""This guy - Seokjin - in one day, successfully got you so flustered that you've planned to avoid him for the rest of your life, and then saw you naked?" Which would be pretty rad except Seokjin’s dog, Adam, doesn’t listen, and he kind of needs Adam to listen or else he won’t qualify. Or: a Kingsman! move in time and get entwined - pearl_o Jungkook/Seokjin. "Everything's about to change, and Seokjin thinks you'd have to be an idiot not to be a little scared. But maybe it's all right if Jungkook is kind of an idiot." Space academy! 1700 words.
tell the world - vastlyunknown Jungkook/Seokjin. "Seokjin is about to embark on a new jouney and meeting Jeongguk might be exactly what he needs." Seokjin starts up a new entertainment agency. JK is the reporter and Yoongi is the photographer. 21,100 words.
Tie Me in Ribbons (Put Me Away) - hobily Jungkook/Seokjin. "When Jeongguk draws Seokjin's name for Secret Santa, he finds himself way in over his head." 4300 words.
the clock strikes twelve - Kaleidotears Gen, Seokjin/Jungkook. "Hundreds of idols debut a year. There’s only one Big Bang. There’s only one SNSD. Everyone else falls through the cracks and gets forgotten. Kim Seokjin refuses to disappear." A Produce 101 AU that explores the idea that the seven BTS members were contestants and trainees from different agencies. The writing has some roughness to it but I was so into all the ideas about fame, the idol industry, fannishness, and personal ambition - and about how narrative is constructed thru reality tv, social media, and social context. I loved both the meta commentary about the industry as a whole, and how that translated into these seven very different journeys. The elimination format made me AS TENSE as if I was watching an actual elimination tv show. Doesn't shy away from some of the ugliness of the industry; but there is a happy ending. 98,600 words.
more and more and more - moonsuns Seokjin/Jungkook. ""If you haven’t had sex by the time you’re twenty, then I’ll have sex with you. That way you’ll have a guaranteed end date for your virginity.” “Do you promise, hyung?” "I promise." The problem was, Seokjin never expected to be called on it." 23,700 words.
terms and conditions may apply - vppa Seokjin/Jungkook. "Fuck. It wasn’t even his fault - no one told him delivery guys could come in all shapes and sizes and levels of attractiveness. No one told him. or: Jungkook falls head over heels for the FedEx guy, and it all goes invariably downhill from there." so funny. 13,800 words.
Take A Shot - TheHalesNyx Seokjin/Jungkook. "It’s crazy to think that a twenty-year old can even have a son who’s three - Seokjin still finds it hard to believe, if he’s honest. Hell, he hadn’t even known about Jungkook’s son until three months after the other began working as his assistant. In which Seokjin gives a helping hand, a comforting shoulder, and his heart, to Jungkook, a single father who is just trying to do his best to make his son, and himself, happy; it’s just a little hard to do all on his own." 44,400 words.
As Soon As Possible - forheart Jungkook/Seokjin. "When Jungkook first met Seokjin, they had to drive ten hours together, in a honda civic, with a dented passenger side door and a broken Air Conditioner, from Southern California all the way up to the Bay. After spending too much time in a too small space, Jungkook thought he would never see Seokjin again. But fate had other plans." Loosely based on When Harry Met Sally. It's super charming and the background Hoseok/Yoongi is A+. 19,000 words.
Eternalism - hobily Seokjin/Jungkook. Seokjin is an ordinary guy and Jungkook is the time traveler trying to stop the world from collapsing. Funny and charming, with some fresh twists to the time loop trope. Tagged major character death but it's temporary lol. 34,700 words.
All Above Board - Trotter Jungkook/Seokjin. "Seokjin laughed, and how unfair was it that his laugh sounded so hot and so stupid at the same time? Jungkook was a simple guy, and his body was having a hard time responding to all the contradictions Seokjin was: take, for an example, this morning, when he introduced himself on deck, made a bad pun, and sucked Jungkook’s cock behind the cabins so quick and dirty Jungkook had thought his brain would explode." Idol JK goes on a Japanese cruise and hooks up with chaebol Jin. 4000 words.
Making It Up As We Go Along - bugarungus Seokjin/Jungkook. "Jin needs to find a date for his brother's wedding before his future sister-in-law tries to set him up with the every gay man in the city." 9500 words.
everyone else in the room can see it(everyone else but you two) - tastelessfool Seokjin/Jungkook. "in which everyone thinks Seokjin and Jungkook are dating, except Seokjin and Jungkook." silly and cute. 3300 words.
Different Names for the Same Thing (where i follow you go) - Trotter Seokjin/Jungkook. "Being Jungkook's childhood friend is rough. Being his manager is worse. (or: the one where Seokjin is BTS's manager and still fails to catch a break)" 4400 words.
Tents and Temperaments - sugarkookie Seokjin/Jungkook, Hoseok/Jimin, Namjoon/Yoongi, mastermind Taehyung. "Everyone's fighting with each other, and Jin has no idea what's going on. In an effort to make them reconcile before they ruin their comeback, manager hyung dumps them in the woods for a weekend of camping. 9500 words.
suddenly I see - Trotter Jungkook/Seokjin. "Jeongguk's had a crush on all his bandmates at one point or another; only one of them stuck. (or, the story of Jin and Jeongguk told through alcohol, confessions, arm wrestling, and food. So much food.)" 3000 words.
stop, rewind - vppa Seokjin/Jungkook. “We’re not dating.” Seokjin sits up on his elbows and stares Yoongi down to make a point. “Definitely not.” This is worth reading as a history of the group and Jin as much as a ship fic. The ship gives it it's arc but it's really good because of how it works with canon - so many references and callbacks!! 10,700 words.
Forever Young: Boy’s Side [Seokjin Walkthrough + Review] - numberts Jungkook/Seokjin. "Jeongguk woos Seokjin the only way he knows how: by treating it like an otome game." I repeat - 'like an otome game'! amazing. 28,600 words.
JINMIN
jack i'm flying! - ameliabedelias Jimin/Seokjin, Hoseok/Yoongi. "“Are they okay?” A concerned booze cruise attendant walks by. “They’re not gonna jump, are they?” “Please, just ignore them,” Hoseok sighs, flopping into one of the deck lounge chairs as Seokjin and Jimin get into position. “They’ve been doing this for three years now. It's kind of their thing.” Or, five times Seokjin and Jimin do the Titanic Pose™." Cute! 4500 words.
Like I've Been Awakened - hope_and_hardship Jimin/Seokjin. "When Jimin moved to Seoul to study dance, he planned on getting a job to help make ends meet. But getting a job proved harder than he expected, so on a whim he found a sugar daddy website. He was just in it for the money. He never expected to meet a man like Seokjin." 9500 words.
another name for pirate treasure - misspamela Jimin/Seokjin. "Kim Seokjin is the worst pirate Park Jimin has ever seen." adorable. 2900 words
wait for me (the world is changing) - reflectionslie (fallsink) Seokjin/Jimin. "Seokjin is determined to keep her taekwondo academy from shutting down, so she teams up with Jimin from a rival school. Despite being past competitors, through the planning and hosting of a tournament, they bond over keeping the school open and their love of their art form" 7000 words.
The Greatest Good - ofmindelans Jimin/Seokjin. "The plan was for Jimin and Seokjin to get married for financial aid money, not for love. They just forgot the part about life never really going according to plan." 4100 words.
2SEOK
The Truth Inside the Lie - AttilaTheHun Hoseok/Seokjin. "Jung Hoseok has always been straight, and he likes knowing that. It keeps life simple, without complications, and he's never felt the need to step across the shadowed line to the other side to see what might be found. Never, that is, until an obscenely handsome Kim Seokjin kisses him, more prank than reality, and suddenly he can think of little else but what's lurking over those dark borders waiting for discovery. But he doesn't know how to ask, and Seokjin doesn't seem inclined to help, and the only thing Hoseok knows now is that he's in a lot of fucking trouble." the plot is very pride and prejudice. a VERY readable fic. 78,100 words.
I Like You Like I Like to Dance - hope_and_hardship Hoseok/Seokjin. "Hoseok is hired to teach Seokjin how to dance before a wedding, but he isn't even remotely prepared for the tall, gorgeous, flirty man who shows up at his studio." 3200 words.
Take a Chip and Dip Me Low - in_too_deep (biaswreckmepls) Hoseok/Seokjin. "Hoseok: Welcome to salsa class! Who's ready to dance? Jin, hiding a tortilla chip bag: There may have been a misunderstanding" 4000 words.
getting through the night - ffairyy Hoseok/Seokjin. "Seokjin and Hoseok are two months into their relationship and very much in love, but there's one unspoken issue. Whatever he does, Hoseok never stays the night." 5555 words.
Your Hands in my Hair My Heart in Your Teeth - ChaoticJackass (CannibalKats) Hoseok/Seokjin. "Hoseok isn't particularly happy to be at this fancy museum party that Namjoon got him invited to, but when a handsome donor drops his coat Hoseok's whole life takes a turn. In which Hoseok gives a Selkie back his coat and suddenly finds himself with a boyfriend." 18,600 words.
the optimal combination of choice and chance - Chlexcer Hoseok/Seokjin. "seokjin dislikes flying because he never knows what kind of freak will end up sitting beside him. hoseok dislikes flying because he's lowkey terrified of heights and speed. this one flight might help them change their minds." 5800 words.
Welcome to the Garden - smiles Hoseok/Seokjin. "The thing people don't realize is, within all their lore of mermaids and vampires and tigers praying to be human, they missed the most obvious magical creatures that dwell among them in plain sight. Hoseok supposes that's a good thing. If the general populace found out that there are a bunch of flowers walking around in human form, there would be pandemonium. aka Hoseok is a flower, meets Seokjin, is convinced he is also a flower, and sets out to prove it." 1800 words.
So Close (So Close and Yet So Far) - CheekyBrunette Hoseok/Seokjin. "Hoseok was gorgeous; Seokjin couldn't help but stare. (In which Hoseok choreographs the dance for Seokjin's performance in the Mr. Seaside male beauty pageant, and Seokjin finds a million and one reasons to fall in love with him.)" 10,000 words.
little by little, one step two step - misspamela Seokjin/Hoseok. "Mr. Wonderful -- Jung Hoseok -- turned around, caught him staring, and winked. Not to be outdone, Seokjin sent him a flying kiss, which Hoseok pretended to catch and put in his pocket, then shot him double finger guns before turning back to the rest of the class. Seokjin was in love." 4700 words.
two bros, chillin' in the gay club - Chlexcer Hoseok/Seokjin. "it’s a game. a stupid, silly, ridiculous game that got a little bit out of hand, and now Hoseok is getting turned on. alternatively, the one where Seokjin and Hoseok, token straight friends, get pulled along to a gay club and to avoid getting hit on by other guys, they pretend to be dating each other. (no homo, though)" WIP.
'Cause Every Time We Touch - kuragecharms Hoseok/Seokjin. "“Fuck, it hurts but it feels so good,” Seokjin mumbled. “L-lay down,” Hoseok instructed. With only a moment’s questioning quirk of an eyebrow, Seokjin complied, placing himself face down on the dance floor. Taking in a deep swallow that he knew was himself swallowing down his pride and his nervousness, trying to convince himself that okay, Seokjin is kind of really loud about when he feels good. It doesn’t mean anything sexual. Even though it totally sounds - and now looks - sexual. Hoseok slowly lowered himself down to straddle Jin’s hips, bending forward to bury the heels of his palms into Seokjin’s shoulders and using the leverage of the flat floor to deepen the massage. Seokjin let out an actual scream." 16,700 words.
They Say Fortune Favors The Brave - teenuviel1227 Seokjin/Hoseok. "Hollywood Boulevard hooker Jung Hoseok is down on his luck--that is, until hotshot investor Kim Seokjin decides to pick him up and they change each other’s lives forever." Pretty Woman AU. 23,300 words.
Fire - noraebangbang Seokjin/Hoseok. "Jin's a firefighter. His station is full of idiots. He is Very Tired. But at least Hoseok makes it better. Kind of." 3300 words.
The Totally Untrue Story of Kim Seokjin - greenet Seokjin/Hoseok. "Seokjin is in love with Hoseok. So starting a fwb relationship with Hoseok is possibly not the best idea he's ever had." I'm so here for this. Especially all the stuff about identity and image creation. 8900 words.
we'll still be dancing (on shaky ground) - Pardon Hoseok/Seokjin. "Seokjin is sick of being made fun of for his dancing. Hoseok is all too willing to help him out." 7400 words.
Timeless As A Kiss (I Don't Want To Miss A Moment) - lulublue1234 Hoseok/Seokjin. "Jin's a hopeless romantic. Hoseok's a realist. Fate has a hilarious plan." wedding planner. 14,500 words.
The Photo I've Been Looking For - teenuviel1227 Hoseok/Seokjin, Yoongi/Jimin. "Yoongi and Hoseok have a promise that they’ve held onto since they were teenagers--if they’re both 30 and still haven’t found anyone, then they would get married. A day before his thirtieth birthday, miles away from Seoul, Hoseok gets a phone call from Yoongi asking him to come home; he’s finally met the one--he just knows Hoseok will love Jimin when he meets him--and he needs his best friend to be there for him. With Seokjin’s support, Hoseok flies home for the first time in years." 28,100 words.
caught in a landslide (of emotion) - fitzgarbage Seokjin/Hoseok. "hoseok keeps catching seokjin at his worst" 5200 words.
love in an elevator - bazooka Seokjin/Hoseok. "Kim Seokjin takes a cab, gets stuck in a broken elevator, and gets jerked off by The Hot Alpha Who Lives Down The Hall." Alpha/Alpha. 3100 words.
Sweet Tart - numberts (numberthescars) Seokjin/Hoseok, Taehyung/Yoongi. "How, exactly, is Seokjin supposed go about telling his favorite cousin that his new crush is actually Seokjin's old roommate from college—the same “douchebag” (Taehyung's words) roommate who’d hooked up with Seokjin's ex, the same roommate Seokjin had had drunken hatesex with and ruined their friendship forever? Or: Hoseok just wants to taste hyung's love (and other significant life events that happen over food)." Hoseok is Seokjin's fake bf on a double date with his cousin Taehyung and ex Yoongi. 6400 words.
disco, calypso (it don't matter) - ofmindelans Seokjin/Hoseok. "Seokjin didn't ask for any of this. Not for his estranged son Taehyung to suddenly move in and turn Seokjin's orderly life upside down. Certainly not for said son to come with a mentor and dance instructor in the form of the impossibly sunny, annoyingly attractive Jeong Hoseok. Fortunately, the universe doesn't seem to be paying much attention to what Seokjin does and does not ask for." 27,100 words.
THREESOMES (and more and other)
playing for your heart - umji Jungkook/Hoseok/Seokjin. "Jungkook should have known something was up from the way they were acting, they had been unusually quiet all night, sharing looks across the room when they thought he was caught up in his game. He didn’t quite know what he was expecting them to say - maybe they were going to elope? That seemed like something the pair of them would do - but he was certainly not expecting them to tell him they had signed him up for a dating game show." hobi is the bachelor. 17,100 words.
Something Brewing Between Us Three - merryofsoul Hoseok/Namjoon/Seokjin. "Hoseok leans his body into Namjoon’s with a soft sigh as they watch Seokjin walk out, but perks up a little when Seokjin stops in the doorway and turns back. “It’s bean a pleasure,” Seokjin calls, and then starts laughing at himself as he leaves the cafe. Namjoon and Hoseok stand in shock for a few seconds before Namjoon says, “Oh my god.” or; Namjoon and Hoseok work in a coffee shop, and a cute customer starts to flirt with them." 11,700 words.
Can't Spell We Without W(you and you) - gbyesummer (shouldshy) Hoseok/Namjoon/Seokjin. "“We’re going out tonight,” Namjoon says. “You should come with.” Hoseok sits up and narrows his eyes. “I don’t think Jin would appreciate me being invited on your date without asking him first.” “It’s not... like a date-date. It's a friend-date." or: Hoseok loves that they’re a close group of seven, but seven is six plus himself, and six is an even number. He's the seventh in a group with three (well, two and one almost-couple) couples. He’s a seventh wheel." I LOVE. 12,900 words.
Steals and Deals - idyllic_hummingbird Hoseok/Namjoon/Seokjin/Yoongi. "Boyfriends Namjoon and Yoongi sometimes commit petty crimes to get by. When Yoongi hears about a rich CEO going out of town, he convinces his boyfriend that an attempted heist couldn't hurt. Little do they know that the CEO's son, Seokjin, was given housesitting duties, and brought his boyfriend along for company. or, namgi are terrible burglars and 2seok are amused about it." 13,000 words.
Just a little bit (is what you need) - pacajins Yoongi/Hoseok/Namjoon/Seokjin. "When you spend so much time with someone, living together and doing everything with one another, some things are probably inevitable. Like taking care of each other's needs and making sure the frustration doesn't interfere with work." 3000 words.
Kaleidoscope - youarethenorthernlights Jungkook/Taehyung/Seokjin. "Despite popular belief, it is very easy and very possible for someone to be in love with two people at once. Jeongguk is, like he is at most things, excelling at it." a/b/o idolverse. 82,500 words.

Loosely based on Greys Anatomy. 78,300 words.
우리들 앞길이 훤해 (ahead of us, our future looks bright) - my_hope
Seokjin/Yoongi, Seokjin/Hoseok, Hoseok/Yoongi. "Okay, now Seokjin was more than eighty percent sure there was something in his food. Otherwise, how would he explain this crossover between an acid trip and A Christmas Carol—fucking magic? Ha." three alt endings, all happy. 9700 words.

Burn the Stage Movie Review
Please don’t read this if you do not want spoilers about the movie. This is a review about my thoughts about BTS’ Burn the Stage (the movie, not the series on YouTube). I’ve also seen the YouTube series so I’ll do a quick comparison of the two. I highly recommend watching both! They both give different feelings!!
The best parts
-Seeing snippets of the behind-the-scenes of their lives -> You get to see the silly parts of BTS, the hard work they put into their concerts, the little free time they actually get, their brotherhood and friendship etc. I really liked seeing how Yoongi explained that though he likes making music, it can be a chore too. That’s very real.
-Being able to understand a bit more about how the industry works -> I find that part where Bang PD reminds them that they need to be happy to be sad and frustrating. It makes me feel like they’re half being commercialized/programmed to have to constantly feel happy to please the fans or to do their “work”. It’s sort of like what Namjoon mentions at the very end of the movie. He speaks of an illusion that they (BTS) might have created for the fans; this was how it was translated in English. It might have been different in Korean. That makes me think . . . about this “illusion”.
I mean, if you think about it, every time a member cries during a concert or doesn’t smile as much, all the fans start going into a panic mode, question who’s responsible for this sadness, etc. That made me think . . . isn’t sadness part of our lives too? Why is it that we expect BTS to constantly be happy? No one is always happy; that’s the truth.
Somehow, I suddenly realized that maybe we have been imposing an illusion on them or maybe taking away a normal emotion that we experience from time to time. There are days when I don’t want to get out of bed or that I’m frustrated because this doesn’t work out or that I just feel lonely, and on those days, I don’t smile or look happy. I’m sure everyone has had those days too, so that makes me wonder . . . why do a lot of us just jump to all these conclusions? Why can’t a lot of us accept that, well, they’re like us and might have just had one of those feelings I mentioned?
I also find it really sad that Bang PD has to remind the members to consider their own happiness, probably because they give so much to the fans and work so hard that they forget that they have to take care of their health!! I’m glad mental health is something that’s still emphasized at BigHit. That, I appreciate.
-Listening to each members’ thoughts at the very end of the movie -> It was refreshing to be able to hear each members’ opinions about what BTS is about. I also loved being able to understand what the fans mean to BTS and how they feel overall about how far they’ve come. At the end of the day, like Jimin says, they are still true to themselves. Like what Namjoon says, we’re all bound by fate--BTS and ARMY.
The parts that could have been improved
-The narrator’s voice -> I’m very picky with voices, so this is a biased point. However, I would find the movie to be EVEN better if the narration were done by all of the BTS members. I’d find the lines to be even more touching and less like an animal/historical documentary where things feel more like stated facts. I think a 3rd party’s narration really takes away from that intimate, raw feeling I got from the YouTube series. This movie felt more . . . like there was a distance between the fans and BTS, in a way. I can’t really describe it well. Sorry, but I think you’ll understand once you watch both and feel the difference.
-Some of the editing of the movie -> I appreciated seeing the behind-the-scenes of the members. Yes, I did tear up whenever I saw one of the members hurt. However, I felt like just when we’re about to feel more of our emotions when we see the members injured or in contemplation or there’s just some overall sad tone, the editor decides to snip off to the next scene and then just move on. I guess in a way, you can say that that’s how BTS is forced to deal with their pain or emotions. They just have to move onto the next venue, but it would have been nice to stay like at least 20 more seconds with the instrumental playing in the back for us to have those emotions sink in!!
-More little interviews from BTS -> I would have loved to have seen more of the members talking about their lives etc. Like the YouTube series. I get that this is more like a documentary, but somehow I just felt that slight distance between BTS and us fans from the movie and that lack of rawness. Sorry, I wish I could explain things better again, but I think for those that have seen both, you’ll get what I mean.
Overall thoughts/reflection
I teared up at probably what people would consider, the most random moments, but I have reasons for crying during those seemingly trivial points during the movie. The first time I teared up was when they were touring the States and they were travelling in the van. I started getting the feels when Hobie suggested they bail the clothing store they wanted to visit due to the long line. I felt sad because they probably don’t have time to line up and they don’t want to gather more of a crowd. It’s their alone time, so naturally they’d want to be able to enjoy that without having to be “on call”. When I really cried was when one of the members had gotten two bags of hot dogs and all of the boys were genuinely so excited as if those hot dogs were Michelin star meals. Why did I cry?
It hit me that BTS are just like us and that the more extraordinary you become, the more ordinary you wish to be. Us? Most of us are what we’d consider “ordinary” compared to BTS based on our society’s view on success, yet we strive to be extraordinary. I find the irony to be a mixed bag of emotions. BTS is touched when they are able to roam on the streets. I cried when Jungkook got out of the van and said, “Well at least we get to walk around.” How many times do we get to stroll around a place freely or just walk around without anyone staring or caring? How easy is it for us to buy some hot dogs from a stand or go line up at a popular store to get goods? Somehow, we seem to forget that these “ordinary” moments are extraordinary for these boys and maybe we forget that these “extraordinary” people want to be treated like “ordinary” people or want to live like “ordinary” people during their downtime.
Another point of reflection was when I saw how hard the boys worked and thought about the amount of effort I’ve put towards my own dreams. The boys rarely complain even when they’re sleeping so little. You see that they’re still up at 4 am or Yoongi mentions that rehearsal somehow goes till 3 am and then they have to get up at like 6 am or 8 am. Myself? When I don’t get enough sleep, I definitely complain and groan. It’s not like I don’t put effort into my work; it’s that when compared to them, I feel like I really have no reason to complain. When they’re working so hard and still having to smile, really, what is there for me to whine about?
From this movie, I’ve learned to appreciate my “ordinary” life. I realize that stardom really is a double-edged sword and I’m perfectly fine being unknown. I don’t think I’d be able to handle the pressure of having to be “perfect” on stage and not have to disappoint fans. I really admire how they’re able to handle stress at such a young age. We forget . . . they’re all only in their early to mid 20s, a time when most of us probably make a lot of blunders and are still trying to find our spot, yet they have to always be on their game.
What I wish for BTS after seeing this film -> I hope they find time to rest, to be “ordinary” and to stay healthy. If they need a break, just let them have one. IF they don’t post so often on Twitter, that’s fine too. If they want to cry, just let them cry quietly and not ask for reasons or trend it online. (Honestly, who wants the whole world to know that they’ve been crying????) If they’re not always doing fan service, that’s okay. No one can be doing aegyo all the time. If you happen to see them roaming the streets, don’t stalk them. Let them go, be free, and enjoy life like us. If they gain a bit of weight or have lost weight, don’t keep bugging them about it. Don’t we all get self-conscious when others remind us of our weight? If their skin doesn’t seem perfect, let it go. We all get breakouts. We all have imperfections. If they get tanned, let that go too. Don’t we all get tanned during the summer and why even whitewash their lovely natural skin tone? If they’re wearing stuff that’s not so fashionable, who cares too? Don’t we all have those exam days where we’re in gross hoodies and sweats? If they have partners, respect them and their choices and let them date, please. How can they write love songs if they’ve never experienced love? If they don’t break the next record, that’s fine too. We still love them anyway. We know how hard they’ve worked and that’s enough. They can lean on us. If they fall, we’ll be there to catch them and pick them right up.

Day 4 - Myeongdong!
Hi guys welcome back to my channel!
Today was super fun!! It started off kind of rough (I started my period like right away this morning when I woke up, so 🙃) but luckily Nichole came STRAPPED with 800mg ibuprofen tablets. Seriously, I take ibuprofen on my period like candy; I’m sure that’s terrible for my body and I’m sure my liver is a shriveled up raisin but hey, better than having cramps.
Anyway, a lot of places in Myeongdong don’t open until a little later in the morning, like maybe 1pm or so? So we lazed around for most of the morning (which was nice for me because period pains knock me on my ass @__@). But finally we got up and got ready and headed out!
Seriously, there’s something about the subway in Korea that I just love so, so much. I can’t explain it. I love the stations (hate the stairs, lol), I love that cold breeze that blows down the steps in the winter time, I love the noise, I love that feeling of satisfaction when I figure out the path and don’t get lost. It’s strange and I know a lot of people don’t like the subway but it was honestly one of the things I was so looking forward to coming back to. Excuse my love poem to the Korean subway, LOL.
So first, when you get into Myeongdong station, finding the underground mall is super easy cause it’s like, right in front of your face. LIKE BAM. There’s a lot of clothing stores, some teeny tiny restaurants, some souvenier shops, and of course there’s a few k-pop stores! This is where I usually go to buy things I don’t have, like some older releases, although they have new releases too! This is where I bought Arrival when it came out while I was here in 2017.
Of course I didn’t take any photos in the mall because my eyes were falling out of my head at all the GOT7 things I could buy that I didn’t have, lol. But I made the smart decision of not buying all of that stuff until we were on our way back so I didn’t have to carry it.
We came out of exit six, which will put you right near an entrance and right by the giant Nature Republican that is really recognizable since it’s got the greenery on the walls and is on the corner. It’s a good starter point and a rendezvous point of sorts since there’s lots of streets to walk down so it’s a good way to remember where you started.
Or first stop: ARTBOX. I love ARTBOX. [chipotle is my life vine voice]. I love ARTBOX, ARTBOX is my life.
This ARTBOX in Myeongdong is three stories! THREE! THREE STORIES!!!!!!
Seriously there is literally everything you could possibly need in this damn ARTBOX. Need school supplies? ARTBOX. Need bathroom decorations? ARTBOX. Need a wireless keyboard? ARTBOX. HOTEL???? TRIVAGO!!!
Like I could honestly write a love song to ARTBOX. Instead, you can have this photo dump of the inside of the store!!
The first floor is mostly stationary and beauty stuff! Like seriously there is the BIGGEST sticker collection here!! Stickers as far as the eye can see. I bought like... 5? Packs of stickers? Just because they have sooo many cute ones! They have a lot of really cute stationary sets and birthday cards.
Even the elevator is cute!! We decided to take the elevator to the top floor and then walk back down through the other floors to see everything!
I don’t know how good this will look on Tumblr but here’s a panorama shot of the second floor! This was mostly electronics and stuff but still there’s SO much cute stuff to look at!! They had wireless keyboards that were sooo cute and I was really tempted to get one but since I’m lazy I almost never sit at my desktop computer and am always performing some contortionist act on my bed with my laptop, lol.
There are so many little cute places to take pictures in here, too! This was on the third floor. Also, personal sidenote, but I literally LOATHE having my picture taken since I hate how I look... but I don’t have any photos of me from my first trip in Korea and I really wanted to change that this time around. It’s so hard to get over and I am still anxious about posting these kinds of photos of myself where I can’t control the angle but it really does make me happy to see myself in these places and to have this memory of being there, so it’s progress, I think.
Okay, dumb personal thing over. MORE PICTURES OF ARTBOX YAAAAY
PLUSHIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Top floor! Lots of stationary and luggage up here.
The cutest decorations!
CAPSULE MACHINESSSSS. I got an Adventure Time watch that you can’t change the time on, LOL. It just said 12:00 on it and I haven’t figured out how to change the time yet, but it’s of Tree Trunks and it’s cute so I ain’t even mad.
After we left ARTBOX (and I bought 944e9934985 stickers and a singular $6 pencil (but it’s PENTEL and it’s super fucking nice and no one is even going to breathe on that pencil if they aren’t me) we went to the LINE Friends store!! I had serious tunnel vision for ARTBOX and ended up walking right by it when we first arrived, but we doubled back and went to it. It was nice going during the week and kind of early because there was ZERO line for taking a picture with the giant bear!!
Stupid cute. Love it.
This was so cute!! There was a fucking SHITLOAD of BT21 stuff here, the whole top floor was BT21. It honestly made me wish I was into BTS cause they were so cute, lol. They did have some ugly ass shoes though and now I wish I had taken a picture of them because one pair was like....HAIRY.
The whole wall of the stairs was made of this and it was sooo pretty!
Brown’s room!! I could have pet that bear all day, tbh. So soft.
After we left the LINE Friends store, we just walked around for a little bit! We went to go eat first, and we went to this place called Golden Farm and I had sundubu jjigae and ugh, so good.
We hit a lot of the beauty stores but I didn’t buy much (except at Etude House a little later), since there was honestly just... SO MUCH TO LOOK AT. I want to buy everything I look at but I’m really wary about buying skincare stuff without trying it, because I’m anxious about breaking out :( I found the Soojung line and I really wanted to try it but I am trepidatious about branching out without being able to try first.
I also didn’t take a ton of pictures on the street or in the beauty stores but mostly because the employees were standing UP my ASS. I’m not mad about it, of course, but it was a little weird at times because I just wanted to look at stuff and they’d be standing at my elbow like 👀. But when we did go to Etude House later, I ended up buying the Peach Farm Play Color Eyes palette, a pretty liquid eyeshadow, a lip tint, and a mascara!
I didn’t get a picture of this or a video and I’m so mad about it becaues it was so funny. But there was a guy in this really janky dog costume that was advertising for a dog cafe (!!!!!!) and he was being SO WEIRD!! He was doing this really weird thing with his legs and I started laughing so he high fived me and handed me a flier, LOL. And then he walked right behind me for a little bit until it was obvious I was not going to the cafe. Sorry manpup!!
I wish we had stayed just a tiny bit later since as we were walking back a ton of the street food vendors were starting to pack up. However there was this one cart right outside exit 6 where we came out that had a few things like cheese on a stick, sausage and rice cake, sausage and cheese in bread (so basically a corndog with cheese lol) and even MANDU!!! So we stopped for a snack and omg honestly it was soooo good. There’s nothing like Korean streetfood!
We went back down into the station and that’s when I bought all the GOT7 things I wanted to buy earlier. RIP my wallet.
Gazing at my bags in shame. SHAME. That DAISO bag actually has an ass load of snacks in it for part of one of my classes!
My flat lay of shame.
Coming back was crazy since it was starting to be rush hour. Omg the stations were SO busy it was insane. We only had to transfer one line but one of the trains was sooooo full that we decided to hang back and wait for the next one--this lady leapt in right as the doors were closing and they almost closed on her leg!!! Also, this little tiny old lady in front of me when we were walking up the stairs was trying to pull a wheeled cart up the stairs behind her, so I lifted up the back of it and helped her carry it up the stairs. Her smile when she turned to thank me was soooo sweet. ♥️
The sun going down through the window. The pollution was really bad but it was still oddly pretty..
Our classmate Gaby is actually here, too! She came for Spring Break to visit her boyfriend, but he had to go to his academy tonight so we made plans to hang out and get dinner. Originally we were going to Hongdae but she wasn’t going to be free until later like 8pm and I was so tired (my period is soooo draining, it sucks) so we agreed to hang out at our AIRBNB instead! And honestly, I’m so glad we did. When she got here she suggested we try this place called Pizza School that she loved a lot while she lived here and omg, she was right. It was soooo good!
So we ate and we sat around and talked and laughed and joked around! It was so nice, I love her and it was such a fun bonding experience to get to know her a little better! I love my friends and I love even more that we got to hang out here together. It was such a nice way to end the day, so relaxing and sooo much fun. ♥️
Until next time, y’all!
♥️

k-armys are spreading a tweet namjoon made in 2013 about korean independence where he says 'There is no future for people who have forgotten history' which shows he probably won't agree with working with a japanese imperialist, hopefully he still has this attitude in 2018 twitter(.)com/BTS_twt/status/367906282012831744
yeah i have seen them doing that ;; and fancafe and all the official tweets since then have been flooded with people talking about these things too, but bighit is playing dead fish so far :(
microwavehater said:Am i the only one who never believed that bts has ~creative freedom~ (anymore) ? If they (still) had, they’d use their influence to spread msgs like baepsae, not just love urself uwu (considering yoongi made political pre-debut releases &interview stuff) Also, their newer releases (LY her onwards) are v much lacking in the hiphop department which (i assume) was a marketing choice. Hiphop just doesn’t sell as well to a female audience (along w the fact that vocalists are the face of BTS).
i think they still have creative input but creative freedom definitely not, but it’s debatable if they ever had it anyway? idk.. and them moving on from hip-hop was definitely both trying to change things up as well as appeal to a broader audience, love yourself era overall was an attempt to basically touch as many people as possible, i don’t mind them changing their musical direction but what has bothered me was the loss of their involvement (because it is less)
Anonymous said:I totally agree with you about BTS losing their originality. I’m almost starting to get annoyed of them. Now bc they know people love their music for its topics such as mental health, etc I almost feel like they’re thinking that they’re obliged to constantly write music that only has a “social” message. I did not like Idol at all. It was pretty tacky and the idea of loving yourself seemed so forced in the lyrics. I want them to make songs about whatever they want at that moment. (1/?)
Anonymous said:Also every fan keeps saying the same thing about them being unfiltered when actually they’ve become SO filtered now. They’ve almost created this illusion of being super open with us when actually we barely know anything about them. I don’t mind that but I hate how they’re touting that as something that applies to them. Honestly most fans now are the bandwagon type and the fandom is starting to feel more like a cult versus a community like it used to. (2/2)
i don’t know if i ever talked about them losing their originality? because originality is debatable in this case too, if you mean their original intention then yes i agree with that, and i agree they definitely created the illusion, once i got out of the bts bubble a bit and also thought back to the old days, i realized how closed off and filtered everything is comparison to the past and even to other kpop groups nowadays that are way more direct, i feel like even exo is more outspoken these days and direct with their fans which i thought could never happen??? i used to stan them and it was hell hah.. and these days.. wowza..
Anonymous said:Fuck yesss we need new yoongi mixtape and i agree abt what you said i wish bts could read that and be like okay guys i think they are right we have done some questionable things and shit has to be addressed whether we like it or not and just fucking do so. Some fans will drop but some would drop anyway bc it is getting out of hand i would never want to call bts problematic bc shit i cannot imagine that being true but them supporting problematic people is kind of making them ones
i just feel like nothing will change because bang pd is too greedy.. he really is eyeing like building a global empire with all the business deals he has been making.. also bts have done plenty “problematic” things themselves, though not to that extent, but some of their actions have hurt a lot of people too, but it depends on what bothers you, i find colorism and things like that a problem, but ofc definitely different thing than pedophilia and such, i just meant to say that nobody is perfect
Anonymous said:Do you ever just wanna randomly bump into bts and be like “hey lets talk!” And then tell them about all these issues and fandom drama and just tell them to wake the hell up? Cos I do haha
well even if we bumped into them, most of them wouldn’t talk to you so dkajsdka
Anonymous said:i agree with everything you have said but what bothers me is he is a co produce of produce 48 and nobody really complained about it even though he is know for sexualizing minors... or did i miss something?? also i feel sorry for you getting hate you were just saying your opinion and people should start to accept some facts! it's not the first time bighit did something questionable ://
oh but actually when that was announced there was backlash? i remember seeing complaints about the producer as well as some of the trainees due to their supposed right wing associations, there were also complaints about women’s rights cause of the oversexualization of some of the girls back in japan and the producer’s lyrics, i think this backlash seems bigger or more visible to you because it’s happening in your fandom ;; that season of produce even ended up having the lowest rankings and voting participation so :/
Anonymous said:I have three words to describe the part of the fandom that blindly accepts all the things, even the problematic ones, BTS do. 'Situationally woke cult'.
that fits perfectly
Anonymous said:i rly appreciate sou voicing your thoughts even if they r not in essay form or refined for days. I agree with you on many things but at the same time it's not as disappointing to me bc I guess I never held them to high standards. like in the beginning I could kinda imagine that they were somewhat sincere (but still remained sceptical) but the more they got famous the more I accepted that that sincerity and authenticity would stop bc that's just the kind of business that kpop is... (♤)
Anonymous said:like it's an inherently dishonest industry. they sell an image just like everyone else, and at best(!!) they were as real as possible with us in the beginning. no doubt they wanted to be different from everyone else and it was easier as long as not that many people gave a fuck about them. but as soon as they started to this chance was over. so i guess what I'm saying is that my view didn't change and I'm not surprised, because I never really bought what they were trying to sell...(♤)
Anonymous said:I still love them, theyre likeable & adorable boys. but theyre not changing the world. they're not in the right kind of industry for that. they love their luxury expensive stuff & the glamour of it all & that's okay. I just take every concept the whip out w/ a grain of salt & a knowing smile & enjoy the entertainment. that's just my own two cents that nobody in the fandom wants to hear so I'm bothering u. & its not an analysis or anything just what is on top of my mind while watching TV lol (♤)
Anonymous said:(♤) oh ps. except for that whole controversial stuff with that misogynist jpn songwriter and supreme boy and what not. I take that seriously , I wont act as if that's just a cute quirk. but they're men so I didn't expect much lmaoo. I knew that those kind of disappointments are just part of the deal ever since I learned that jimin (a whole cutie pie and my ultimate bias) stans chris brown. definitely would kick jm in the shin for that if I ever got to meet him. at least keep it to yourself lol.
haha i wish you didn’t start this with a backhanded compliment but dkajsd yeah overall i see your point and agree... i understand like if you didn’t buy into that whole spiel, then of course you can just keep on going and stanning them as idols and all that comes with that, but many people and me included sincerely thought that they were different, i have stopped stanning kpop groups for a while and got drawn back in with bts because i felt they were so fresh and unique, genuine and open with fans in comparison to other groups i have stanned.. but ofc that image crumbled as time went on.. things have changed as well... and i agree, it’s fine to enjoy it for just the entertainment and like the boys as people, accepting they are just as any other idol.. and maybe i will continue with that perspective myself!! but i honestly find it difficult having believed in it and also bighit continually selling this image to their fans despite evidence of the contrary, i can deal with idol business but like continually being blatantly lied to and then being in a fandom where most of the rhetoric is build around blindly believing it and eating anything the boys and bighit sells? it’s honestly emotionally exhausting sometimes.. but yeah.. you’re honestly right.. even with the last point lol... they are men, and korean men at that sigh.. that’s why i’m burying myself in girl groups nowadays adkjsd to heal my soul
Anonymous said:Hope you have a wonderful day filled with only good things ❤ - the cutest person in the world
thank you so so so so much! you have a wonderful day too ♥ cutie
Anonymous said:simple question, not loaded at all, no wrong answer, the honest answer is the right answer- yaddah yaddah you get it -what do you think bangtan is lying about and what exactly are you saying overall? i just need the language simplified for my 3 braincells :) if i do get what you're saying - whether the actual members of bts are real or not, their message is. "dont let anyone tell you what to do" "live your own life and not a borrowed dream" "life is a marathon, not a race - go your own pace"etc
you can read this post as well as the tags to it to see some of the examples, i mean i have been saying lots of things so i don’t know what exactly you want me to clarify? i think their message is compromised when their actions contradict it, whether it’s their actions or bighit’s is up to debate, like i was talking about in the post though, you can’t have things both ways, can’t hail the boys as woke independent kings while propagating the idea that they are just the company’s pawns at the same time, if you accept their authenticity isn’t there then ofc it’s a different argument, and the things you have listed there may be true, but isn’t is soured knowing they are just things that are said in order to sell bangtan as a product to you? to me they are
Anonymous said:I'm not gonna disagree but I like to see all the sides of a story. Bang pd is their boss, bts made a contract with him, he will ALWAYS have the last word on, well, everything they put out. We like to think that bc bts has creative freedom they can do whatever they want, well obviously they can't. Even if bts wanted to talk more about issues and not work w bad ppl, bang pd wants them to succeed, he wants to make money bc it's his business and bts is the only thing bringing money to it.
i get this argument a lot and to that i will answer again this and this, i don’t understand what your point is exactly though, so you are saying bts are pawns that have to do as they ceo says, yes and? i am criticizing the decision he has made? i’m criticizing that what he cares about the most is money? that he will stop at nothing to widen his wealth and influence? i will not support bts cooperating with vile people just because it wasn’t -completely their decision-, i’m sorry i’m really struggling to see what your point is about the other side of the story, it’s a shitty situation and if they all go through with it, it be greatly disappointing

The Most Beautiful Moment In Life: #BTSxCitiField
Wow. I’m home back from New York, where I had the amazing gift of being able to see BTS live on their Love Yourself world tour. I’m literally out of words to describe it, but I’ll try.
I saw in someone’s post about seeing them on the Wings tour that they were sad for a week after and I thought to myself, “it’s just a concert! How the heck would that happen?”
...and here I am, having cried a bunch of times in the last two days (though none of them actually during the concert, there was too much adrenaline), now I am living it. I really feel it in my body. I’m exhausted. My voice is destroyed from so much cheering and fan-chanting. But I’m also sort of happy about that, because it’s a marker of having gone through that experience and I want to hold onto that. I was off work Monday and spent the entire day at my house watching Bon Voyage and Run episodes (didn’t realize they were only 20 minutes!!) to console myself.
I’m sad the concert’s over, and I’m also sad that the Love Yourself era is also basically over too, some additional concert dates notwithstanding. This era really encapsulates everything I love about BTS: their positive message, their incredible songwriting and producing and music in general, and their growth as artists. I have complete faith in our boys that whatever comes next will be fantastic and that they’ll keep growing, I just desperately hope this isn’t their peak. But regardless, I’m glad I got to see this show because it felt like such a special one—their first sold-out North America stadium show. And it seems like BTS felt like it was special as well.
I’m also feeling intense love, because love is at the heart of it all. BTS’ love for ARMY and their earnest and sincere desire that we love ourselves, and be our best selves (see: Magic Shop, etc). And ARMY’s love and deep appreciation for BTS seeing us and our struggles, and believing in our ability to succeed. I was a little leery of calling myself an ARMY before this concert, mostly because of ARMY’s reputation on the internet as being kind of a crazy and intense fandom, but I fully embrace ARMY-dom now, because I understand that it’s really all about love.
So to recap, I’m going to do some best-ofs and link to Twitter and Insta pictures and videos. My phone camera is the literal worst, which is why I unfortunately don’t have any of my own!
Best deep thought: RM, our leader, always and forever. Sometimes I forget that he’s a literal genius because he’s also so derpy and cute, and then it’s moments like this that I re-remember that he does absolutely nothing related to their music or public presentation by accident or without forethought.
Via @mimibtsghost
He—and all of them, really—understand so well their role in our lives and our role in theirs. ARMY loves BTS, and BTS loves all of us so much, and truly wants us all to be happy and to live our best and whole selves. RM literally said this in his UN speech (which he also mentioned). When he says Speak Yourself, I think what he means is a combination of “Tell your story,” “Speak out,” and “Speak your truth.”
Best bias wreck: Jimin
Now I’m one of those people who legit loves all the members almost the same (except for Jin, I don’t love him quite as much) and my biases are Suga and V, but only by a little. But oh my goodness, Jimin was such a bias-wrecker in this concert. His solo set was ridiculous, he was wearing this beautiful sparkly top and did his amazing lyrical dance moves. So many eyebrow quirks and hearts. I’m completely dead. The friend I was with is a Jimin stan, and I think they were like, “how did it take you this long???” I now have three coequal biases. Here’s a good one, and this cutie pic.
Best corny-yet-adorable moments: J-Hope and V
J-hope’s Trivia: Just Dance stage was J-Hope being a major hype-man for the entire concert. And oh man, did it work. He’s such an exuberant live performer and the perfect choice for the second song. That white suit?? And his joy and enthusiasm is completely infectious. Hope World was my favorite of the three rappers’ mixtapes, and I was happy that his Trivia song was very much in that style, lots of old-school rap vibes. His joy is just so pure.
Also, Taehyung’s sign-off for ARMY at the end of the show: “You are the brighest stars in my universe.” Corny, but sweet and touching; also poetic because the ARMY bombs really do look like stars to the performers on stage, and we are orbiting around them, pulled into their gravity. Ah, V, so poetical as always <3
Unexpected song I liked live: Epiphany
Jin’s not my favorite member (see above), and I’m honestly a bit mystified by why people seem to like him so, so much. I’m also not a lover of ballads, usually, and the Epiphany video was fine but not one of my favorites. But I really liked this song live, way more than I was expecting to. Jin does have a really great voice, and it’s a bit less breathy than Jungkook’s in particular (still love you, Jungkook, you also sound great live!) He really gave a powerful vocal performance, and I’m going to put Epiphany back in my listening rotation…..after I listen to Suga’s I Need You x Seesaw remix another 15 times, sorrynotsorry.
Best gay/ship moments: Vkook, Suga
Vkook showed up again at this concert in force! One moment I saw myself, one I missed and found later on Twitter.
1) Tae hopped onto Jungkook’s back for a piggyback ride. It was super-brief but I know it happened because I distinctly remember thinking, “huh, usually Tae hops on Jungkook’s back, but Jungkook hopped on Tae’s this time. Interesting!” Turns out I was wrong and Tae hopped onto Jungkook as usual! Here’s a still, via @harchu2
2) Apparently, Tae also gave Jungkook a little kiss and/or nuzzle on the neck at the end. I completely missed this myself, but hey, it’s there on the video. Vkook, you’re being so loud <3
Suga’s Seesaw performance also pinged my gaydar in a major way, I’m not even sure why myself. He started off lying on this white couch. And he’s just so sassy. And this sparkly red top with a sash that he was wearing. Suga, you’re the best. Here’s a really nice pic, via @maggiejslg + Seesaw clip
Best PSA: RM
Three separate times, RM said that we shouldn’t shove one another for our safety. Our boys are so considerate and want everyone to have a good time!
Most impressive stunts: V, Suga
V’s Singularity set was fcking amazing. He’s really the most stellar performer, such a true artist. It seems positively unbelievable that he’s only 22 (what the heck was I doing when I was 22??). His little video before his solo stage (all members had them) was him surrounded by dark flowers and a pane of glass that frosted over. The hand-in-the-coat dance, and his backup dancers with masks that moved with him…the visuals of his set were stunning, and his singing was really stellar live (well, truly, everyone’s was). Here’s a clip.
In Suga’s Seesaw performance, he did this slick little stunt where he slid down a lit white long prop bar, like a seesaw. It looked really cool. I love the song Seesaw, it really shows how versatile Suga is, and his performance was a giant f-you to everyone who thinks he can’t sing or dance.
Best surprise songs: Dope and So What
Dope has always been one of my favorite songs. It’s so clearly and lovingly descended from 90’s American boy band stuff, but updated and, frankly, better. It’s got the killer hook and the great dancing, and is almost always the first video I show someone when I’m trying to explain why I love this K-pop band so much. I thought there was next to no chance of their playing it, but they did!!! I can die happy now. It was part of the medley in the middle, including Boyz With Fun, Attack On Bangtan, Fire, Bapsae (another one I was thrilled to hear), and Dope.
So What is also lowkey my favorite LYS: Tear track (though like the members, really only by a little on what’s a phenomenal album overall). I knew there wasn’t a dance for it so I didn’t think they’d play it, and was so, so thrilled when they did! It was like having a huge party with BTS and ARMY at the end of the show.
Best emotional vulnerability moment: Jimin
Jimin did some excellent crying at the end of the show, when they all came out in black t-shirts and addressed ARMY directly. Oh my goodness, it was so cute and sweet. They’ve really come so far; Yoongi tends to respond through bravado and celebrating their accomplishments, and Jimin cries. I just love so much that he’s modeling being emotional and vulnerable, and everyone just wants to give him a big ol’ hug.
Such beautiful crying.
Best Jungkook moment: End filming
At the very end of the concert, right as they were about to sink down into the floor, Jungkook grabbed a camera and started filming ARMY. I was just like, “wow, they want to remember this night just as much as we want to.”
Favorite fanchant: DNA
There were so many fun fanchant moments. My only regret is that I didn’t learn the words to Seesaw better (@StanningBTSpod, you did warn me, I should have!) But DNA has the name bit at the beginning, and BTS! BTS! BTS! in the chorus, it was just super fun. Toward the end of the concert honestly there was so much screaming and such that it was hard to even hear the fanchants. That was fine too!
Happy me success moments
Met the wonderful @daftlolita waiting in line to get into the venue, it was super great to hang out!
I made this jacket, and got a bunch of compliments! My entire goal was to find other queer ARMYs and I think I pretty much succeeded.
I also gave out most of the pins I made (made a bunch of extra ones precisely for that purpose). I don’t love Twitter that much and much prefer interacting with people in person, and generally feel like I succeeded on that front.
I kinda wish I’d gotten at least a little merch, but honestly the ticket was expensive enough. I also kinda wanted an ARMY bomb, but also, see ticket price. I tried to go to the BT21 store in Times Square on Sunday before I left and it was an hour wait so….no go on that one, I’ll get back to New York soon though.
At the end of it all, I cannot tell you how indescribably proud I am to call myself an ARMY. Although our fandom has its flaws for sure because we live in a broken world, to me, being an ARMY means co-creating a better world with BTS. A happier world.
A world where we love ourselves.
A world where there’s no stigma attached to mental illness and we can ask for the help we need
Where we take care of one another and are mindful of others (no shoving!!)
Where we celebrate and embrace difference
Where all young people have the resources they need to thrive
And where people of all races, genders, and ranges of life experience come together to express joy. I’m tearing up again as I write this.
Arundhati Roy has this beautiful quote that I’ve seen around activist spaces. It goes, “Another world is not only possible, she is on her way. On a quiet day, I can hear her breathing.”
I saw a small glimpse of that world at #BTSCitiField. Janelle Monae will lead us through the narrow places into that world. Or, as BTS have it, from the desert to the ocean. And BTS will be there to make sure we drink enough water and are good to one another while we’re moving forward.
Suga, you said you’d be back. I’ll hold you to that promise.
And please, wear that red sparkly top again. It was absolutely killer. I purple all of you beautiful, special, luminous men who are making our world better, one song at a time.
