Okay, honest question, who is Yotsuba?

OH HO HO ANON I AM ALL TOO HAPPY TO EXPLAIN :3

Yotsuba is a character from the greatest manga ever made, Yotsuba&!(or Yotsuba to! it translates weird, most fans just call it Yotsuba) which is a comedy slice-of-life manga about Yotsuba Koiwai, a five year old girl, and her very strange yet wholesome family and friends!

It's from the same mangaka who gave us Azumanga Daioh, though while that manga is told in a four-panel comic style and doesn't really have much of an overarching plot, Youtsuba is done in a traditional manga style and despite also being very episodic there is a bit of a throughline surrounding Youtsuba getting settled into the neighborhood she just moved to, growing up, and eventually, in the later chapters, getting ready to go to school for the first time. Also, there are storylines that take place over multiple chapters as well! Despite the fact that the manga has been releasing since 2003, the chapters are pretty sporadic and the comic has only really covered about one year of the character's lives, but it never really feels slow or aimless. It feels almost...timeless? I guess. It's really nice.

Anyway, the manga is legit one of the most wholesome, funny, heartwarming things I have ever read. Kiyohiko Azuma is a fucking MASTER of comedy(you may have seen screencaps from a Sailor Moon fan comic he made going around on tumblr in which Jupiter accidentally sends Venus shooting across a pool that made me laugh so hard I cried) and he balances it well with lots of slow moments with GORGEOUS artwork where you can really take in the scenery and all of it is seeped in a wonderful nostalgia for childhood that legit makes me super emotional.

I don't think the manga has ever really taken off in terms of popularity, at least not to the degree that it deserves imo, which is likely in part due to the creator being firm about it never getting an anime adaptation and the sporadic release schedule, but it's far from unknown. There's been an official(I think??) score released and plenty of figurines and merch. It's also birthed a lot of memes, and it def has the same issue as One Piece where if you read it and love it you will turn into a walking billboard and try to drag your friends and family in with you. It's just THAT good!

You may have seen art of or people cosplaying Danbo, a "robot" made of old cardboard boxes that Yotsuba adores (Totally a real robot btw, def doesn't have a middle schooler shoved inside there, that would be silly wdym /s)

And you've also probably seen this going around tumblr before (that's Fūka she's my favorite cringe fail daughter I would literally die for her).

Also, I would be doing a disservice if I didn't mention Yanda, who is a friend of Yotsuba's dad and also Yotsuba's nemesis. He's a loser who constantly gets dunked on by a toddler it's fucking hilarious.

But yeah it really is just like, a manga that feels like a hug, or a warm blanket or something, it's so comforting and funny and fantastic, I find myself re-reading it any time life gets to be too hard just bcs it's that good at distracting me and reminding me that live is worth living.

And also given that it's literally my favorite manga, I saved up a bunch of screencaps to use as reaction images after a read one time, and thus now it's my own little joke that if you send me anon hate I'm just gonna send you back a picture of this cutie

Are there any companions you can't stand?

I wouldn't say I have any that I can't stand. Something that's so engaging to me about DA is that the companions have good, bad, and a lot in between. Honestly, I don't hate any of them. There are companions that I have more issues with than others, but I like them all; even, and sometimes especially, the ones that tend to be heavily hated on by the fandom.

The only companion that might fall into this category for me is Sebastian, but I totally acknowledge that I've yet to make an effort to use him when I play DA2. I legit just forget about him. How am I supposed to have a good grasp of his character when I don't engage with him outside of his companion quests? Plus I usually romance Anders so Sebastian always leaves my party in the end with threats of bringing an army down on Kirkwall for not killing Anders, soooo... yeah. Not the greatest impression he's left me with.

I would like to have a more well-rounded opinion of Sebastian because the concept of him is interesting; he's this chantry brother who is also a prince, but his family was murdered so he puts up a bounty on the chantry board [which admittedly is SO funny] and his companion quests are about avenging his family and helping him decide if he should take back his lands or remain a chantry brother. But then I talk to him, I listen to him talk to the other companions, and it's like... oh, the chantry has become his entire personality because the dude was brainwashed and now he's saying shit like the maker was actually the one who freed Fenris from slavery, and when Fenris tells him a story about how Denarius killed a child in a ritual for more power, Sebastian just doubles down that the maker has his reasons, like....babe, c'mon now.

I feel like I've read pieces about him written by fans who love him that are more compellingly written than he is, if that makes sense. Really, I would love to be educated by those who love him, especially Sebastian romancers because of all the love interests in all of DA, he's the one I look at and go, "....okay but why?" I have a lot of fun with character discussions and other perspectives so I mean that sincerely.

Also I think it's worth noting that when I play, I tend to get super into the roleplay of my warden/hawke/inquisitor, but while they have party members they can't stand, I have opinions that are separate from them, y'know?

For example, since I've talked about it a lot recently, my mage Hawke and Aveline butt heads constantly. By the end of Act 3, they're rivalry is heated and Ed's surprised Aveline even sided with him in the end because THAT is how much their relationship deteriorated over the course of the game... but then there's my warrior Hawke who adored Aveline. The two of them were best friends and Aris always gave her the benefit of the doubt, like she had Aveline's back through and through.

I've complained about Aveline a lot in my posts so it probably does sound like I can't stand her, but that's not true. Aveline's actually a companion that fascinates me, like she makes me go, "God, you're such an asshole, tell me more right now." and it drives me crazy how she and Carver are foils, like I love it so much, I could go on and on about how foiled they are, it makes me want to bite something.

It's very easy to look at Aveline and think she's just a bitch, she's a cop, she's a bad character, #Aveline-critical, bad companion, etc. I see it all the time, and not just with her, but with every companion in dragon age, y'know? I'm not saying that's wrong or anything; some characters just don't vibe with you or you have legit reasons for hating them and that's fine. I'm just saying some of it's very surface level unless you make the effort to elaborate.

If you don't like a character, you're less likely to make an effort to understand or see anything positive about them. You're more likely to have confirmation bias, so whenever they do or say anything, you go looking for the worst interpretation. I try not to do this just because for me, that's the "boring" approach to games like this but as we've seen, I'm not immune either... y'know, Sebastian.

But Carver gets this a lot, too, and I think I've made myself clear that Carver is my favorite, I love him, the Hawke twins are S-tier companions and I would throw everyone in Kirkwall into the ocean if it meant Bethany and Carver's happiness.

Now that I'm thinking about it, the characters a lot of fans can't stand are some of my favorites?

Like a lot of people shit on Sera, and I'm like "Nah, that's my girl! Listen, she's got a LOT of internalized issues, but we're working through them okay! She's getting better!"

And Vivienne? Oh, don't get me started on Vivienne, I have a whole deal about her. She's also an asshole and I love her.

My canon inquisitor is Surana who escaped the circle and joined the dalish, becoming Lavellan. Vivienne is a reflection of what Ash could've been if she hadn't run away with Jowan. She played the game of the circle, she stepped wherever she needed to step because Ash knew she was at a disadvantage by being an elf, for one, and for two, not coming from a family with wealth that would give her special privileges. Her downfall was buying into her own hype and believing she couldn't be wrong about Jowan, believing that she could either prevent them from making him tranquil or help him and Lily run away, and believing she was above punishment because she worked her way into being Irving's favorite. Yet it all bit her in the ass and she had to run… so then years later after living outside of the circle and realizing just what the chantry is, how it conditions and abuses mages and shit, she meets Vivienne who also played the game well and came out on top, who now spouts the same shit Ash used to spout and it's makes their dynamic sooo chewable.

Then there's Cullen who's not a companion but I lump him and Josephine in with the companions anyway. They're advisors, they're in the inner circle, they count.

He's such a spineless ass in DA2 like believe me, I get all the criticisms he gets... but he's also fairly polite to Hawke even if they're openly anti-templar, he's softer spoken, and he's unwell after what happened to him in DAO and Meredith's clearly taking advantage of his state... but then he becomes an advisor in DAI who is so done with people's bullshit and blatantly honest about it, like he looks at Chancellor Roderick like "this fucking guy again" and he's so ready to just go for it, y'know? Well... unless you're a pretty lady who bats her eyes at him, then suddenly he doesn't know how words work. Like sometimes I feel crazy because I find him to be so funny in DAI, and overall a compelling character that I enjoy interacting with even when he's being a total asshole. Yeah, there's issues in his writing but I appreciate the vision the writers were going for, even if they stumbled... except for Sheryl Chee, I don't appreciate her contribution of those few posts on the DA forums that everyone uses as a smoking gun to "prove" awful things about him. Nothing gets under my skin more in character discussions than bad faith arguments and there's so much of that when it comes to Cullen.

Actually, while we're on that, can I just add a note that when I first got into this fandom, I saw someone's post about Chee doing an interview where she said all those bad things about Cullen wanting to assault the mage warden and I was like, "What? An interview? What interview?? Where??" and I couldn't find shit until much later when I read another anti-Cullen post that cited a DA forum as the source for her saying those things... so not an interview. I went digging for the forum, went into the way back machine to find it.... only to discover that this smoking gun comes from a fanfiction forum where Mary Kirby was also talking about Sten and catgirls and y'all expect me to take that seriously?

We can have discussions about whether or not Cullen's a bad person or a bad character, but the moment you bring Sheryl Chee into it, I know you're here in bad faith and your argument is void.

Sorry for the tangent and the long answer but this is the stuff I enjoy. I could talk about the characters of DA for ages unprompted that when someone does throw me a bone, I will discuss and gush about them all.

My Fionna and Cake episode 7&8 tangent

Lets start it off with the score. 20/20 it was fantastic. my stupid theory post will happen eventually, and I will ABSOLUTELY TALK ABOUT PETRIGROF

The star - Cake thinking Fionna was upset cause her fling died was silly, Fionna was clearly upset before about the candy people. The fight with the vampires was funny but intense, I love how Cake and Fionna care a lot about eachother. Also why does Simon know what holy water taste like. Pb and "Star" was so cute, and I was so right when I talked about us getting more Bubbline on tiktok (Tiktok account is not linked anywhere btw) The vampire world is super sad though, cause they had really been eating for so long, that a potential thousands of people died. Marshall and Gary really lit up the episode from the sadness once again, Gary's tangents of his candy kingdom are so cute. AND HIS HAMBO THINGY IN HIS CAR. Marten and baby Finn are so cute, I wanna legit cry cause HES MEANT TO BE A GOOD DAD BUT HES SO STUPID IN THE OG UNIVERSE. Also imma say this now, Prismo gets in trouble for breaking the rules once and ignoring a few beeps, BUT Scarab ignores several beeps and his entire job and doesn't get in trouble, that boss better have a good reason. Second date (potentially) and Marshall already introducing his boyfriend to his mom, damn. Marshall's mom matches og Hunson perfectly somehow, duche parent club. And Marshall's little blush of embarrassment from his mom acting all weird infront of Gary. Billy's corpse is messed up, like reall messed up, and the reminder of how tall he is is also crazy. I was also wondering the entire time if Pb was human in this universe until she bit off half her arm basically. The Star's outfit is so good, but I wonder how she turned into a vampire now, maybe she was bit in front of that worlds Simon's body and thats why she screamed at something. Already long section so I'll end it here with, I LOVED THIS ENTIRE EPISODE, Huntress dying was sad though, and Gary Marshall kiss was adorable. Closing thought of this episode, Bubbline but toxic yuri. Jerry - Simon and Betty better get a happy ending or I will legit be so sad, they love each other so much, and Betty just legit became part of a god over her Fiance once celebrity crush. I love how gorgeous everything is in this show, Orbo is also a funny character. I feel like someone could narrow down where things and places they go in this Lich's wish universe it'd seem fun at first then spiral though. Simon does NOT know how to draw though get this man an art class. The tree house being naked though, all its leaves gone. Lich's wish to kill all life, really just unironically killed ALL life, down to plants. Fun little references to old episodes, and including one that revolved around Ice king, hmm. Also I wonder the age gap between Betty and Simon, I like to see it as they're like a year apart but Simon just skipped grades cause hes a smart cookie. Also Simon had slides ready for people to be loud, HE WAS READY. Nerd girls in love. I am also guessing Bmo has been alone for awhile now, at least since season 5ish times since thats when the Lich would have made this wish. All the references in Ice King's junk from the melted ice kingdom. Ninja guide books, kunai, vhs tapes and the camera, the pink diary, his bed has the wishing amulet that Gunter used to break bottles. I was RIGHT

Fionna see's how unhealthy Ice King was, and changes her mind and wants him to not become this sad sad man again. Simon would genuinely be such a sweet and wonderful parent, he loved taking care of the babies in the baby universe, and he sees Fionna get happy when he tells his story with Betty and keeps doing it to keep her happy. Neddy is also guaranteed dead, already obvious but the candy kingdom doesn't have the juices being produced. Bmo has done a lot in his isolation, a lot of stuff is changed or moved, I feel so bad for bmo. But the lines "Help me zip up my bra" and "Ooo, butt stuff" Wow. The Simon and Betty stuff makes me so happy, they're so cute and I love them, they need to have a happy ending or I will be so sad. The lesbians ever, I love these lesbians, let the lesbians be happy. Simon struggling to say he loves her is so CUTE. Poor Bmo, I feel so bad, but he was probably so sad being alone, sad in someway. Petrigrof moment was so cute and adorable please, I want them so happy, they deserve to be happy. Now for the bombshell, Jerry. The Lich's wish monkey paw aspect is that he gets depressed and has nothing to do now that all life is gone. Billy's body decomposing as the Lich parasites it. SO, imma theory my reason for the portal finally opening to GolBetty, either it was because the Lich was used as the battle and influenced it in a way to allow it to finally work, OR Betty's wish to keep Simon safe truly included the crown being worn. Like the crown really did trigger GolBetty like "BITCH, NO" or the third that makes probably the most sense, The Scarab was literally about to kill Simon and go against what Betty wants, meaning she is going to interfere. I saw someone say that GolBetty likely wont remember Simon and this could cause something. BUT I REALLY HOPE THEY DONT DO THAT, I WANT THEM HAPPY SO BADLY

Okay now with that out of the way, my thoughts on the movie

I really enjoyed it.

I went to see it with a few friends and one of them made a really good point. They actually act like teenagers. Like yes, it was kinda cringey at some parts but that’s because it sounded like something a teenager would say because teenagers are awkward.

I’ve had very stupid conversations with my friends that sound like the conversations in the movie.

I noticed that this movie did the “teen talk” a lot better than I’m pretty sure all other versions of tmnt (in my opinion), even better than rise I think. Most others sound like adults writing teenagers and it sounds good most of the time but others it sounds weird.

Now for the main reason I made this post: April and Leo.

I was kind of dreading this when I saw in the trailers Leo would be interested in her (2012 April and Donnie flashbacks) but it was well done. I am a bit tired of April being a love interest for the turtles but I think it’s important to include that April is black, plus size and has acne and how Leo described her as “the most beautiful girl he’s ever seen”. Unfortunately the qualities she has aren’t shown very often to be attractive because of bs beauty standards.

It’s late so I can’t fully explain what I’m trying to say so disclaimer in case I didn’t come across this way: I don’t think that being black, plus size or having acne makes you not pretty, you are, just society sometimes says that and society is stupid.

April and Leo are cute together and written well and there is no “one of them is obsessed and the other is leading them on” going on. The fact that they end the movie looking into TCRI is adorable to me. My fav investigator duo.

Also Leo is an absolute dork. The whole phone call scene: “it’s a date then!” “Wait what a date?” “Uhhh *cue fumbling and wrestling for the phone* uhh nothing bad service byeee! Who’s got no rizz now?” Like Leo you are bad at this oh my god. (Again awkward teenager stuff)

And his bothers teasing him was so funny. They did not let that slide and teased him at every opportunity. Classic sibling behaviour

The tease for shredder was fun and I can’t wait to see what they do with him and his backstory.

Best Splinter. I love him so much. I love his whole “hating humans” arc and how he paralleled superfly and how he CHOSE to not be like him.

Both superfly and splinter have a very understandable fear (that turned into hate) of humans and how they both thought that the best way to protect their families were to hold their family too tight.

While splinter hid from the world and his fear pushed him into hiding and laying low, superfly’s fear caused him to lash out and take out his anger in a destructive way.

But splinter getting a girlfriend at the end was so cute he deserves this.

Also side note: why did so many turtles almost get hit by cars in this movie? Specifically Mikey.

He almost got hit in the flashback, then in the garage, then in the final battle with the flying cars. Then Donnie also almost got hit, I think just before they were captured but I’m not sure.

When they had to leave the movie and walked home really sadly and kept looking at the humans longingly I legit almost cried.

I was kind of surprised they ended up actually going to school and everyone was accepting. I thought they’d be like “we don’t need humans to accept us cause we accept ourselves” but I’m glad they got to go to school. They deserve it.

Also April being super upfront with them about if they didn’t save her she’d probably be running screaming was so funny. Also how she was planning to release a story about them while knowing humans probably wouldn’t accept them was a very realistic thing.

I loved April so much by the way. The way she fucking chucked the news mic into the crowd was iconic.

The fight scenes were SOOOO AMAZING I LOVED THEM SO MUCH. The splitting between the 4 (I think) fights at the same time and every other fight scene were so well done. Them figuring out that they skills they learned for years actually work in a fight and how they’re awesome at it was adorable to watch. And the way in the beginning how they were using their skills to steal get groceries was great.

All the turtles up from every version are good fighters (in their own ways) but these versions are definitely up there with how skilled and how well they work as a team. Love them.

AND THE TURTLES SHARING A ROOM AND BUNK BEDS WAS ADORABLE. It’s so funny cause later they were like “yea we have so much space to hold the 6 or 7 other mutants in our house on short notice we have lots of space!” Which means they chose to share a room with is adorable and a little bit unrealistic lol.

It seemed like a pretty realistic movie and I have bullet points of the least realistic parts (excluding the mutant animals cause duh). And this is just me being picky lol, I still loved this movie and these are just jokes.

The fact that they wrote nice things on aprils locker at the end of the movie

1. They just stopped and then left the insults on there, maybe scratched them out

I’ve started watching The Artful Dodger and loving it, it’s far better than Bridgerton at actually capturing the essence of a romance novel (my first thought upon seeing Jack and Belle interact was that it could’ve been ripped straight from a romance novel). Oldie but a goodie and if anyone hasn't seen it they should (and really, the whole trilogy--the second movie gets a bad rap, but I personally so enjoy it, and I love the third movie for a lot of reasons but the "REIGNITE. OUR. LOVE." sequence is absolutely one of them, the "we are gonna FUCK THIS SHIT OUT" vibes are sooo romance novel for me). Bridget Jones's Diary. Mark Darcy is just an amazing hero. Bridget is a legend. Hugh Grant as Daniel Cleaver is PEAK Hugh Grant, and his introduction in that film is one of the greatest character intros I have ever. Seen in cinema. I see some people knock on it because of things that have aged--Bridget worrying over her weight because it's the early 2000s and super skinny was the trend, the workplace harassment. I don't give a fuck. If you haven't seen Bridget Jones's Diary, you are doing yourself a disservice.

Ummm speaking of Hugh Grant, Music & Lyrics is an underrated BANGER and absolutely fucking reads as a romance novel. A washed up has-been pop star begins a creative partnership with the messy neurotic woman who waters his plants? He does a flop attempt at defending her honor to do the guy who did her wrong. There's a grand gesture/grovel moment ffs. It's GREAT. The music is AMAZING. POP! Goes My Heart!

This one is borderline because it is more of a girls trip comedy, but the romance is truly centered so well and is a swoony romance and it features peak Richard Madden and it is again, so underrated. Netflix's Ibiza, dude. Buttoned up marketing girl goes on a business trip to Spain, her two best friends (who are both much wilder than her) accompany her and they go to the club one night and see DJ Richard Madden (LEOOOOO WESSSSST) and he and the main girl have this amazing meet cute that involves someone drawing a dick on her face in glow in the dark marker and him coming to the rescue, but then he has to go to a gig in Ibiza and she and her friends decide to track him down because some people are destined to go to the moon, but her destiny is to FUCK. THAT. DJ. But Harper and Leo's connection is more like love at first sight than pure horniness? I just miss movies that like, unabashedly capture zany happiness and the flutters of first love (and the sex scene is so good???). This movie is amazing and I adore it.

Bros. Look dude. I know Billy Eichner fucked up the marketing for this one. I know he's annoying as hell. Bros is objectively a romance novel movie lol. It's not as inclusive as it could/should be, I will agree with that always--but the romance arc is so good, and it is legit funny, and it has a FAILED GROVEL which we all know is one of my favorite things. And I do think it has a deeply true heart and soul and is really amazing.

Brown Sugar. PEAK Taye Diggs and Sanaa Lathan. It's a slow burn friends to lovers movie in which there is sooooo much sexual tension and so much angst and so much follow the fuck through. Also, Taye Diggs has one of the most magnificent line deliveries of all time with "riCHARD LAWson".

Imagine Me and You. The sapphic romcom we deserve. A bride falls in love at first sight with hot florist Lena Headey while walking down the aisle to marry her groom, as you do. What follows is a woman desperately trying not to cheat on her husband while experiencing extreme sexual tension with Lena Headey. Surprisingly soft and super romantic.

Lady Chatterley's Lover (2022). Required viewing for historical romance novel fans. Obviously based on a book, but again, that book is not a romance lol. The movie is. And it's one of the hottest movies in recent memory. Jack and Emma did the WORK. The kiss right before he goes down on her is maybe my favorite movie kiss of all time.

Obviously. Pride and Prejudice (2005). I shouldn't have to include this, but to be fucking clear lol. I will always maintain that while P&P (the novel) is a predecessor and a shaper of romance novels, it is not a romance novel. It is a contemporary novel with a lot of social commentary and a good love story. This movie? Makes it a full, sweeping romance with some of the best tension ever committed to screen.

Faraway. Omg, an amazing slept-on movie that is a rare romcom featuring a middle-aged woman! Basically, right when her mom dies she finds out her husband is having at min an emotional affair with his younger employee, and she also discovers her mom had a secret property on a Croatian island. She goes there, and is immediately courted by this younger real estate developer guy, but why is she constantly butting heads with the gruff guy who's been living in her mom's house????

Far and Away. Hate to recommend a Tom Cruise film, BUT it is is very romance novel, and it does star Nicole Kidman as well, and I hate to say it but those two did have bomb chemistry when they were married. The Irish accents are rough, but the plot is delightful because he's a poor guy who ends up getting roped into her scheme to leave for America (after his harebrained revenge scheme against her dad fails lol) and they live in a boarding house together pretending to be brother and sister... But like, everyone can tell they aren't because of their extremely obvious sexual tension lol.

When Harry Met Sally. Cliche, but it is a classic every romance lover should see. I'm not a big Billy Crystal fan, but his chemistry with Meg Ryan is MAGIC in this, and you really do get the sense of two people slooowly falling in love without even realizing it until suddenly they do all at once.

I'll start with @shyranno, whose art I absolutely adore. her style is so clean and expressive and colorful, and she makes amazing comics. the TBB Downtime series is exactly my kinda Clone content, filled with lots of fluff and feels. the "baby" batch ones are my favorite, but I'm also fond of this one where Tech gets teased from not being able to grow a beard 😜

another artist I really love is @zaana! she also draws a lot of really sweet and funny moments with TBB, and I'm super fond of her more sketchy style of drawing. she's got a "Crosshair defects the Empire" AU about Cross rejoining TBB sometime during season 2 that I love soooooo much. honestly, all her stuff with Crosshair (especially the ones with Omega) is top tier. although I think my top favorite is this one with Hunter and Crosshair (which @questforgalas also wrote an amazing oneshot about!); it's so simple but so sweet, and I automatically love any wholesome content between these two 🥰

then there's @lightspringrain, who makes beautiful portraits of TBB. I've been wanting to buy some of her prints (and will absolutely do so once I have the money!!) because they are seriously gorgeous. her "Crown" series is the best, it's so lovely! and she does an amazing job capturing the style of the show! to no one's surprise, my favorites are the Hunter and Omega moon crowns. the Hunter one is legit one of my favorite art piece ever; it's been my lockscreen on my phone ever since I saw it 💙

someone I recently started following is @thattoothpick! after seeing her "TBB Happy on Pabu" comics, I had to see more. the best way I can describe her style is "soft". everything is just so soft; the lines, the colors, all of it. it just makes me happy 😊 I have two favorite pieces; the first is this one about Hunter and Crosshair from the Pabu series. literally made me cry. I need this to happen SO badly 🥺 and then this one that I refer to as "the Sad Batch"... oh man. also had me crying (but also simping for obvious reasons LOL) 😭

now for a big one. I can easily say my favorite SW related artist of all time is @lornaka. her art... holy crap y'all. it's so freaking good. she makes everything from simple portraits to stunning dynamic pieces, and I'm obsessed with all of it. she even was featured during SW Celebration last year!! she's that good!! \o/ I have a few favorites of hers. which obviously includes the TBB poster she made for Celebration. still sad I couldn't get my own copy of it 💔 then there's this... lovely portrait of Hunter from behind. oh Lordy 🥵 and finally, my top favorite is actually this simple portrait of Hunter. I had it as my lockscreen for a LONG time. it's just... so good. the colors, the stars, his expression... I'm still obsessed 😍

finally, I can't talk about amazing artists without mentioning my sister @jam-n-ham. her art account is @joyjababanoid. y'all. please just scroll through her TBB art, you will not regret it. I've always adored her cartoony and expressive style, and it makes for hilarious Clone content LOL. she did a bunch of drawings for Inktober last year, solely focused around TBB. she's also done some comics that I've had a part in helping her develop (specifically the Padme pin-up art and the AZI going on a mission). but my absolute favorite is by far the Valentines collection. y'aaaaaaaall. I had the Hunter one as my phone background for over a year haha. she knows how to personally get to me, let's just say that 🥵

oh, and one last thing I wanna mention is that the one thing these folks all have in common, aside from being fantastic artists, is that I love how each of them draw my bae. seriously, y'all draw Hunter so good, and I'm smooching each of your different versions of him 🥰😘

Delicious Party Precure Episode 22 Review - Misplaced Kindness?

I legit had to watch this episode twice because I wanted to make sure this was an ACTUAL Takumi focused episode and not the clunky mess that was Episode 14 where it was SUPPOSED to be Takumi-focused but wasn’t. Did I finally get the Takumi-focused episode I deserve? F*** yeah I did and it was great!

Just from watching this episode, Takumi catapulted himself as my second favorite character in this entire show. Right now, my top 5 are:

Anyways, this was a nice way to focus on Takumi’s motivations and why he helps out the Precures despite not having to do so. At first, his motive was to protect Yui and her smile, but as time goes on, he’s diving more into wanting to protect people’s precious memories. Though, I feel like that should’ve been his motive during Episode 13 when his mom An loses her memory of eating Shirashi-don and thinking about Monpei when the Recipeppi got stolen. Or at least, bring a callback to it; it’s making Takumi look like an uncaring son, somewhat.

While he is a tsundere, Takumi is a sweetheart. He does genuinely like helping people and is also a great cook too. However, I do like the interesting way of getting over his issues. He had his own issues wondering about his misplaced kindness as Black Pepper and wondering about whether he was a bother to the Precures. Fortunately, helping Minato and getting the Precures’ help with creating a pseudo Legendary crepe and making both Minato and Asae happy sort of fuels why Takumi does what he does. I think it was a good way to showcase that he isn’t someone who’s entire character is revolved around liking Yui, but is something more.

I do like his two power-up moves with the cape deflection and Pepper Mill Spin Kick, but it was a wasted opportunity to NOT use that hat as some sort of boomerang or razor saw. That’s a 10/10 hat that needs to be used more. Though, given that I’m going backwards in my Precure journey, I know that Cure Wing is the first male Precure, but Black Pepper really does feel like someone equivalent to one. I can also tell that his purpose was to be an ‘experiment’ for a potential male Cure which happened in the next season.

I guess if I were to have a gripe, it feels as if Cure Finale felt a too…”mean” to Black Pepper in the beginning? Sure, his attacks weren’t working but her behavior sort of rubbed me the wrong way. On top of that, no one really was defending or even thinking about Black Pepper’s actions and purpose. All the Precures were doing was gush over Kome-Kome’s new human form. Though, I do admit that the way she was greeting Takumi was super adorable because she does recognize him as the boy who helped her when she got lost back in Episode 3. It was also funny when Rosemary described her as his cousin’s cousin’s cousin’s child as if Takumi actually bought that story (he probably just rolled with it).

Speaking of Amane, I can sort of tell that she figured out Takumi likes Yui from his behavior during the cooking segment. I wonder what she’ll do with this information. Also, I’m glad that Yui actually thought about Black Pepper at the end and gave him a present with a note thanking him for all he does. I’m sure that really brightened Takumi up. Yui’s incredibly sweet (now when are they getting together?).

I really liked this episode and I’m going to savor it in my mind because I know for a fact that there probably won’t be another Takumi episode until after 10-15 episodes later… I can’t wait for the next episode because it’s going to be about my best girl Kokone! I did like the subtle hints about communication and getting one’s feelings across in this episode and her expression darkened every time it was mentioned.

Cookies Court is next! I feel like this episode probably involves the courtroom scene I’ve seen gifed a lot? Maybe the scene with Cosmo I’ve seen admitting on a radio show to be a fairy if this is a court case? We’ll see though!

I’m not looking forward to This episode based on the title card. I was not fond of Cookie at all and having more of her doesn’t sound fun. Oh I wonder if this is another one of those playtime wishes we saw back in episode 2? Cosmo and Wanda farming with a meteor about to crash would indicate as much.

You know I don’t think sword vs meteor would do much but playtime is playtime lolz. Cosmo. No not all plot twists are good. But funny villain Wanda is back. Wait why is Wanda’s hair a skeleton?

Wait wait wait??? Why are we praising making tons of wishes? Like I know this is building to her making a million wishes but in the original we spent a lot of time saying Timmy shouldn’t make frivolous wishes? Also “on us?” Aren’t all wishes on them? Their wishes??? Why are these playtime wishes limited to these special occasions I’m super confused by this whole thing.

Why is Cookie so determined the break up the group? Why does she care? We know from the original there is a shortage of godparents? She should have a new godkid by now?

I do like Jorgan not caring the chaos of the wishes and focusing on no rules broken. I feel like Timmy slightly broke him in that regard and I think that’s kind of funny.

But seriously she’s bitter about…losing the kid she doesn’t even like? Wait he just flung her to earth? Where she could be easily seen??? Jorgan what are you doing?

Just finished This Woven Kingdom and yeah it was like really hard to go through during the first 50-60% of the book but the latter part got me so excited I literally flew through it!

I love Alizeh so much she's literally the sweetest and the kidest and she looked so cute absolutely massacring those 5 armed mercenaries with her sewing supplies! God I just love her so much! How bad tho is it that I legit saw close to nothing in her romance with Kamran. Like he was going insane thinking about her 24/7 meanwhile Alizeh thought of him like a total of 5 times mostly when she was reminded by other people. Honestly good for her, girl was just trying to stay alive👏👏

Kamran was so funny, not as in "lol he makes funny jokes" but as in "lmao he sucks I love bullying his ass". He's such a nepo baby, like an entitled little ass with major anger issues and a side of mommy issues. Nah but fr he was a bit on the obnoxious side sometimes and it got on my nerves, I say this with love. Unfortunately I've heard he only gets worse, shame I quite liked him. Loved his simping tho fr he was so down bad it was sad to read sometimes. Also absolutely LOVED his interactions with Hazan, had both me on the floor every single time🤣

Cyrus literally appeared so close to the end but I really like his character because he is just SO PETTY🤣🤣🤣 He's just trying to do his job and shit like literally does not want to interact with anyone, I absolutely get him. Also he has red hair and is a dragon owner instantly he goes up on the favorite scale I don't make the rules. No but can't wait to read more about him and Alizeh in These Infinite Threads like I can tell they will give me the true enemies to lovers my heart desires, not whatever Kamran and Alizeh were giving. Their bickering sound hilarious already.

And by far my favourite character os Hazan. I ADORE HIM!!! He is literally so freaking sassy and so very tired of Kamran's shit. Every time he opened his mouth he wiped the floor with Kamren istg it was amazing🤣🤣🤣🤣 AND HE HAS A LOYAL LITTLE FIREFLY ISN'T THAT JUST THE CUTEST!!!! Also his devotion to Alizeh is just so sweet, I was so pleasantly surprised when he was revealed to be Alizeh's childhood friend. I really am hoping he doesn't become a love interest but just stays a loyal besgie through and through to Alizeh (like Kenji and Juliette)

All in all, this book is like an 8.5/10 for me ONLY because it was so hard to get through the first half of the book.

Edit: I would like to clarify, just because I made it very clear I'm team Cyrus from the start, doesn't mean that I did not find Alizeh and Kamran cute! No they were super adorable actually when they interacted. And Kamran was legitimately down horrendous like boy get up! My only problem was that there were so few interactions between them, that it felt like they just developed these feelings for the image they had constructed of the other in their head. Like they literally had a conversation a total of what 3 times?? (Since the first book takse place in a total of 3 days) It didn't really make sense to me.

Right now I'm chosing to trust the forced proximity with Alizeh and Cyrus, also these two literally can't stand each other's ass already and they've just met so I feel like they're giving more enemies to lovers than Alizeh with Kamran. And since Tahereh Mafi herself said this is an enemies to lover romance, I'm going to trust my instincts

The movie was so good!!!! Mirage was honestly adorable, and his relationship with noah was great!!!

Humans I care about in a transformers movie? It's more likely then you think! Unlike Sam in the beginning of his first movie, you really understand how the world has beat noah and elena down, and why they chose to help the autobots. Noah because of his sense of responsibility for his family and elena because she wants to do something. We see the way shes used at work, god her boss made my blood boil. We see the way noah is trying so hard to help his family! I really loved both of the human characters!! I did think it was a little silly that no one else had noticed these strange unknown symbols ever but eh, it's a movie and set in 1994 so the internet isnt really a big thing yet, give it 2 decades and it would have popped up on an ancient aliens episode.

Alsooooooo god the parallels between noah and optimus was so so good!! Noah choosing to not destroy the key for optimus and his homeworld and optimus chosing to destroy it for Noah and Noah's family.

And they said it out loud!! Optimus's family is the autobots! Hes their big brother!! Hes not some distant leader! Hes someone who feels so guilty about leading the autobots to earth and wants them to go home!! His relationship with bumblebee is so cute (no more drive in movies!!) Arcee was great! Wheeljack ugly. But funny! And mirageeeeeee. Oh I loved him so much!

I really read mirage as someone who was very lonely, hes being doing this hiding in plain sight alone thing for god knows how long. It makes sense to me why he latches on to noah! And they were very fun to watch! Mirage brings such a life to the movie that the other characters bounce off of really well.

Ooh! And the maximals!!! I loved them! Optimus primal being named after prime! It's so good!! AIRRAZOR MY BELOVED!! They only transform once and we never really get to see their bot modes once, but honestly I'm not even that mad, their bot mode were cool to watch. And I took it as they had the same problems they did in the original cartoon with staying to long in their bot modes. Cheetor and rhinox look super cool, I think they had a bit more time to shine but I get why they focused on primal and airrazor.

Also I think rattrap and dinobot are dead T^T airrazor makes a comment about being the only maximal of her group still alive. Primal, cheetor and rhinos are accounted for but not dinobot, rattrap, tigatron or anyone else. :( I hope they show up in the next movie.

I've seen people dogging on this but fuck that. I'd love to see a legit good gi.joe movie again! Maybe thundercracker and buster show up! Maybe cover girl and brawn get together again! (Probably not but the thought is funny!)

HSR Spoilers

So far, I very much enjoy seeing the trio again and their dynamics since belebog. Oh boy, that was like over a year ago when our journey first started with March 7th and Dan Heng before we joined the Astral Express. ;w;

Entering the Luofu again during the busiest event, the Wardance Ceremony, is very welcoming since we get to reunite with old friends and meeting new ones. I do very much admire Yunli and Yanqing dynamic as being rivals, especially with their personalities and beliefs clashing greatly.

Can I say I very much love Grandpa Huaiyan and Dad Jing Yuan tired voice calling the kids name?

AlsoAlsoAlso two of the generals coming to the Luofu to ascertain Jing Yuan after the Abrosial Arbor event. I am very curious to how it will end up for JY.

FEIXIAO ENTRANCE INTERRUPTING THE KIDS FIGHT AAAA. What a Queen.

I do like the Feixiao-Jiaoqiu-Moze dynamic. It definitely highlights how comfortable they are around each other to voice their complaints. Also Moze breaking the mood by asking what's for dinner. HALPP.

Also meeting Lingsha for the first time and finding out she's also born on the Luofu. I don't have a clear judgement on her yet since she feels so...mysterious, especially with her beef with alot of things in the Luofu governments. ALSO LINGSHA VOUCHING FOR FEIXIAO TO GET HER CHECKED OUT BY BAILU AAAA.

I do love Lingsha strongarming Stokk to agreeing to an inspection. Like I legit forgot about this dude until I heard his voice and went: Ah yes, this karen-dude. I remember you barking like a dog. I legit enjoy making him squirm again. >:))))

When I did see Sushang in the Alchemy commission, I was hoping she talk to Dan Heng a bit too considering they did travel together briefly. :(((( But maybe later on they can get a chance to talk.

Also it was super funny how Huaiyan and Jing Yuan basically had the kids team up to be a mentor to March 7th and take her in as their apprentice. LOLOLOL. AND THE WAY DAN HENG AND THE TRAILBLAZER LOOKED AT HER WHEN THEY ASKED WHO WILL BE THE APPRENTICE. They just yeeted her right there without saying a word.

I do admire Yunli straightforward and simple personality. I might be a little peeved how she commented about Yanqing concerns whether or not he can be a good teacher or not. I did see it as Yunli taunting/motivating Yanqing to push himself, especially since they're rivals and working together. Not only that!!! They're kids!!! They say what's on their mind and are very impulsive!

I'm just a bit high-strung cause it's one thing to learn from the master. It's a totally different thing to teach the subject and make sure the student understands what is you're trying to teach them. It's not an easy job for sure!!! And I wouldn't want to be put in the role of a teacher/leader, because what makes sense for me won't make sense for them. So you have to try to work around that and find a way to help them understand the lessons!

So I understand Yanqing concerns whether or not he's good enough to be capable of teaching someone until Jing Yuan gives him another perspective on the topic and push him to at least try. ;w; Not only that, but's a change of pace for Yanqing too.

March 7th is super adorable in her new outfit, and her besties are cheering her on!!! AAAAA.

I also can't wait for Feixiao to join the generals cause not only it's interrogation time for Jing Yuan, but we get to see her thoughts/opinions on him.

ALSOALSOALSO FEIXIAO AND YUKONG MEETING. I figured it be Yukong when Feixiao said she'll meet an old friend but holy crap it was actually Yukong. The fanarts of them together do make sense too now. It was nice to see them relax and catch up as old friends, BUTTTT BUTTT BUTTT

Feixiao bringing updates about Tingyuan case, and I AM PRETTY SURE IT IS TINGYUAN. Because Yukong is still looking for any traces of Tingyuan since Phantylia used her as a disguise. ;w; They found her ship, but not the body yet and...Ruan Mei??? Ruan Mei??? RUAN MEI???

Ruan Mei I hope whatever you did to Tingyun it was more good than bad.

I pretty much stopped after getting March 7th new path. ;w; now big question...any recommended builds for her?? I saw a few people already have her built and ready to go.

I don't know how much more I have left for this quest. I haven't seen the Shackling Prison yet so I know I still have some ways to go.

How I feel about this character

oh my god, I LOVE Moxxi so much. having a character who is so confident, so involved in the plot and just has the greatest vibe, I adore her. I love how Moxxi is a person who knows what she wants and will get it. I love how the story does give her a backstory but she doesn't dwell on it that much rn bc Moxxi KNOWS she's better now and fuck others who abused and underestimated her. she's hypnotizing on screen, she's so great and also may I add her voice is great. also I'm a bi person myself so lemme just say, she's so so gorgeous

aahhh I think she would love to chat and catch up with Hammerlock! he definitely has free drinks at her place but always insists on paying. they love to talk long hours after her shift. honestly that's how I see her relationship with Tim after the breakup too, they like to meet up and just talk. also I like the potential friendship between Moxxi and Athena. I love how in TPS they're so casual but friendly to each other

My unpopular opinion about this character

Her BL3 designs is the best one, it CLEARS

I don't think she's a manipulative mastermind or whatever shit fandom paints her to be. she's a skilled and intelligent woman, not a manipulator. Jack would end up the way he is no matter what guys

the innuendo shtick is pretty boring, I wish they'd focus on other aspects of her character

I hate when fandom insists her last name is "Hodunk". u rly think she after so many marriages would keep a last name of a clan which abused her?

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.

actually uno reverse card - what I don't want to happen to Moxxi is that I don't want her to get a permanent relationship. I like the fact that she's a free lady who just does what she wants. she doesn't need another marriage, she deserves to be herself
