Not sure what to think about the fact that if Gus hadn't seen through Graye's Illusion in Labyrinth Runner's, leading to the Hexsquad getting coven brands
that would only change the fight in King's Tide.

Brother's Keeper AU Story Post 12 (Part 2)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
AU MASTER POST
BEGINNING | PREVIOUS | NEXT
[IMAGE ID: Three pages of a black and white comic.
PAGE ONE
PANEL 1: Perry Porter continues his news report. "Further investigation," he says, "reveals that this human has been the subject of sightings in Bonesborough for a few weeks now, and is the cause of a recent disturbance at Hexside School. For further comment, here is my own son, Augustus." PANEL 2: Perry interviews Gus, who is grinning with excitement. "Augustus, is it true you've encountered this human before?" "Yeah!" exclaims Gus, "She snuck into the school and now she's my friend! Her name is Luz!" PANEL 3: "Now that they're together, I can see…" says Belos. "It's them." With a point of his finger, he conjures hologram-like illusions of Luz and Lillith, who stand in the throne room facing them, with their names above their heads. "I don't understand," says Caleb. PANEL 4: The illusions have transformed into Luz and Lilith in their disguises from "Elsewhere and Elsewhen." The names over their heads have changed to "Luzura" and "Aunt Dirtrude." "I had to consult memory magic to be sure," Belos says, "but I was correct." Caleb reads the names out loud: "Luzura and--" PANEL 5: He points, laughing. "Wait, is that the witch who broke your nose?" "They're the two who helped me find the Collector," Belos grumbles. "I did always have questions about them. Clearly there was time magic involved."
PAGE TWO
PANEL 1: A profile view of Caleb, quietly sad. "I see," he says. "And this human attacked a witch in a duel." PANEL 2: But then he turns and brings a hand to his chin in thought. "But… the boy called her his friend?" "Either a cunning ploy, or she is… struggling to find her way," responds Belos. "Either way, she isn't ready to face a witch." PANEL 3: A view of footage from the news report, projected by the crystal ball. In a moment from the episode "Convention," Eda exposes the power glyph used on Amity while Luz looks on in surprise. Belos continues to speak off screen. "If it wasn't for the Owl Lady's intervention, she would have sorely lost." "The Owl Lady protected her?" Caleb asks. "Yes, it appears my suspicions were correct." PANEL 4: "The portal door has reappeared, in the hands of another one of your blasted Clawthornes." A close-up of Belos against a totally black background, his face shadowed. One hateful eye gleams from behind his mask. PANEL 5: A close-up of Caleb staring up at him, also shadowed against black. His face is lined, his single pupil a pinprick. His expression is schooled neutral. "And just as before," Belos continues off screen, "the witch has taken advantage to claim a human soul." PANEL 6: "No wonder the child came to me for help. If not for Lilith, perhaps I could have aided her back then." He stands in front of the projection, watching the newscast, his back to Caleb. "I should order her collected and brought here. Shield her from further corruption. If only the Owl Lady wasn't guarding her." PANEL 7: A close up of Caleb jolting forward, fearful. "NO!" he bursts out.
PAGE THREE
PANEL 1: A close-up of Belos glowering dangerously over his shoulder, lit by the broadcast from behind. "No?" PANEL 2: Caleb sweats. "I mean. Philip, don't you think it'll look suspicious to show too much interest in a human?" PANEL 3: Caleb takes Belos hand, clutching him imploringly. "Not to mention the possibilities of meddling in the time-line. It's too risky." Belos isn't looking at him anymore. He looks ahead at the illusion of Luz, whose back is to us in the foreground. His expression is unreadable. PANEL 4: A high angle shot of Belos and Caleb watching Luz's illusion. Caleb still clings to Belos. Luz's illusion is alone now, staring at them blankly as she stands at the far end of the throne room. "Yes," Belos agrees, "I fear it's too early to intervene. It seems the Lord is testing her." PANEL 5: "For now," he continues off screen, "she will have to face the temptations of this realm on her own." A close-up of Caleb, letting out a breath of relief. PANEL 6: Caleb's eyes snap open. Belos' hand has come up to brush his cheek. PANEL 7: Belos pulls Caleb into a hug. Caleb's face over Belos' shoulder is drawn in supressed, silent horror, cast in deep shadows, as Belos murmurs to him reassuringly. "Don't worry, Caleb. The Owl Lady will be taken care of. And then the portal to the human realm will be in safe hands." PANEL 8: Belos and Caleb in profile against a black background, casting long shadows on the ground. Belos hunches over Caleb, one arm around his back and the other hand on the back of his head, pressing him close. Caleb dangles limply, face towards the ceiling, pulled halfway out of his wheelchair. Belos murmurs into Caleb's hair. "I won't let history repeat."

Songs for some really interesting Dark!Hunter au ideas:
Tumblr media
Not one of us - Lion King 2
Like come on, this needs to be an animatic and this fits Hunter so well. Like what if this takes place during Watching and Dreaming? Like this is basically hunter's worst nightmare. To not belong anywhere, being a long and "Helpless to defy his fate".
This could also be some really good huntlow angst. I mean, when I was reading @avatarmerida's fic " The Secret Life of Caleb Jasper Blood Williams", and It got to Hunter revealing himself as the golden Guard to the team... I just... With everyone's reactions... This is what I heard. Ugh. My heart.
My goodbye - Epic the musical
Maybe a dark! Hunter au?
Inspired by @soldrawss Dark!Hunter au
Where he knows everything about the Day of unity, being a grimwalker and even what happened between the Wittebane brothers. But doesn't care.
Maybe he saw potential in Willow to be in the emperor's coven back when he was a scout during a chance meeting and she used her plant magic to help him with something.
Knowing her talents would be wasted in abominations, when he becomes the golden Guard a few weeks later he demands that she be placed in plant track, due to her raw and natural power for the magic. Even saying he wants to take her up as his protegé, just as Lilith had Amity.
He really just wanted to understand why he couldn't stop thinking of her and thought he could get to the bottom of it with her around him more.
After spending time with her he realized that he enjoyed her company and just wanted a friend and it'd be great to have her in the coven with him, even if it was temporary due to the day of unity.
Since she had never seen him without his mask he infiltrates Hexside as Caleb BloodWilliams under Belos' orders to keep an eye on the human to prevent her from interfering with the day of unity. And finds himself becoming attached to Willow and Gus and this new friendship.
Though as he realizes his feelings for Willow may not be as platonic as he thought.
When she and the rest of the hexsquad go to fight Belos during "Young blood, Old souls", everyone gets separated and thinking that Luz and the others are most likely going to die fighting Belos, Hunter confronts her as the Golden Guard.
Sentimental and irrational behavior aren't any teachings of his and he tells her how she had the potential to be a captain, but she's wasting her time to fight a pointless war. He's done. He's disappointed. But so is she.
Willow isn't stupid, she figured it out. She knew Caleb and the golden Guard were the same person. And now that she knows who the bad guys really are, she's done too. They cut their ties, but super angsty and she tells him that she saw him as a friend (maybe more), but if he wants his goodbye then that's fine.
If he wants to help Belos hurt people, if he refuses to change, then she can put him out of sight and out of mind. He can have his goodbye. At least she knows what she's fighting for, she still has her friends and family, if he's so great and wise why is he all alone?!
They part ways hurt, and even though Hunter didn't want to admit it to himself, he didn't really want her to leave. He wanted her to stay. But he knew his place. He understood his purpose in the end. There's no stopping the inevitable and she couldn't even begin to understand what was happening. After all she is just a witch.
(You can clearly see which one I put more thought into and favor more)
I needed to get this out of my system so I could get back to finishing the fanart I was working on.

So another idea I had with the lost light au is that luz growing up surrounded with magic might try to cling to what is familiar that being human junk that gets displaced to the demon realm and trying to fix or restore it.
making her into some what of a tinkerer mending broken human stuff constantly trying to find and fix more complex and difficult stuff and imbuing them with magic so they can function (the most difficult would be electronics like phones computers/laptops and the odd toy with mechanical parts) as the story progress in the demon realm
And maybe using some scrap part she makes a rudimentary robot but still trying to figure out that part or if it's even worth writing in
The reson I got this idea is because I was thinking besides looking for her family what else does luz have left to do in the human realm ?
In the show she stayed in the demon realm to learn magic. but it eventually changed she made friends and went to a school that she wanted to excell in. Then it changed to wanting the people she cared about to live better lives, then it changed again to helping take down emperor belos, but it all started with her wanting to learn magic and it influenced nearly every decision she made and she continued to learn about it and seek it out till the end of the show.
but the luz in the lost light au dosen't have another drive to do something else, she has vee and king so a portal back isn't an immediate issue, the emperors coven isn't there either so they don't need to run or hide 24/7. and she wouldn't go to hexside high with Gus,willow and hunter because her main focus would be on finding her parents, and they wouldn't be at a school
So I needed to find something else to get her to do stuff other than move the plot
So I thought robots
Hunter and gus would explain them to her and she would be be interested (maybe somthing to do with cosmic frontiers? Cuase its the only thing she remembers that her parents like)she would starts looking at the robotics club at school. it would also be a way to get amity and luz to cross paths with her father Being a leading figure head in robotics and her following in his footsteps
But if you guys have any other suggestions or ideas on how to improve my idea im all ears

Go on about the WOWP AU. PLEASE.
Willow and Gus are seemingly normal (though kinda quirky) kids who attend Luz's school. She either befriended them before she got enrolled in the wizard competition or shortly after.
During the early "episodes" where Luz and Hunter are still getting used to each other, Hunter has tunnel vision. He's in the human world to study magic and become the most talented powerless wizard out there, not to make nice with other humans. So, he has zero interest in mingling with Luz OR Luz's weird friends.
(This changes as time goes on obviously. Because COME ON. Justin and Zeke's alien language club is so Hunter and Gus coded.)
It's eventually revealed that neither Gus or Willow are human.
Gus is a wizard and the star student of Hexside (which gets a downgrade to be more similar to Wiztech in this au.) and is so far ahead in his studies that he's taken a "gap year." So, he's living out his dream of attending a real human school and experiencing the culture and he's having a BLAST. (Tbf Luz probably should have realized earlier that Gus wasn't human since he frequently loses his shit with excitement over EVERYTHING. She just assumed he was the world's most relentless optimist.)
Willow isn't a wizard, but a forest nymph. So she can't do all kinds of magic the way Gus can but she has a dangerous amount of power over nature. She can control it fine as long as she stays calm. So it's very important that Willow Park NOT get angry or she'll turn the whole school into a jungle and blow their cover to the human world. She's a bit of a ticking time bomb.
Since we're already fucking around with wizard shit and don't have to play by the rules, I want Amity to be Juliet. Vampire!Amity supremecy. She's got the vibes down. Very pale. Feral energy. She's actually half wizard on Alador's side so she attends Hexside.
When the Noceda siblings attended Hexside for a short time, Luz and Amity met and they immediately got off on the wrong foot, and Luz eventually got banned.
They reunite like a season later when Amity's parents relocate their business to the human world for some nefarious reason and she and Luz continue their rivals to friends to lovers arc. It's not revealed she's half vampire until later on but once the truth comes out, many twilight jokes are made.
Vee's role in this story as the only Noceda sibling who wants nothing to do with all this magic shit, and is constantly embarrassed by her family's antics. She wants to go to school and hang out with her friends and have the normal human teen experience. Unfortunately the universe just won't allow this. Vee loves her family too much and Luz, Hunter and King are constantly flinging themselves ass first into mortal peril and Vee frequently has to tag along to keep their asses alive. Hunter likes to believe he is the most mature and rational of the siblings and Vee just lets him believe because it makes him feel big and she loves him.
King is simply eight years old and has been unleashed on a brand new world and now he gets to cause all the chaos he wants. This ranges anywhere from pranks to scams to attempts at world domination. The suspension of disbelief also applies here. He just throws on a hoodie and everybody who sees him is like "yeah that's a regular human child. Carry on." It's very funny.

TOH rewatch semi-liveblog. Season 2a
episodes 6-10 and season 2a thoughts
Episode 6
- This was one of the s2a episodes that i really liked on the first watch, but my memory became soured because of Hunter's fandom. So i was apprehensive watching it again. Spoiler: it's still good, but it's good because of Luz and decent episode structure.
- Lol, i've remembered the Coven Heads' scene as the last scene of the episode.
- Hmm, yes, we do see Darius entering first and then being placed in the center of the Coven Head group, like the viewer's attention is meant to be drawn to him🤔 Sure, they couldn't bring Raine in the spotlight in this episode, but why not Terra?
- No offense to Kikimora and her fans - and i do think there are some interesting aspects of her character and why Belos chose her as his attendant - but also her role could've been divided between the Coven Heads.
- But the Coven Heads really don't feel like this Inner Court the way the fandom portrays them. Even the Healing Coven Head is not attending to Belos's illness, none of the Coven Heads are shown to be present at the Basilisk experiments, Belos barely talks to them, and instead Kikimora does almost all the talking, Belos is not the one inagurating the new coven head.
- I like how the union of the demon and human realm and what it means to the Coven Heads and others is just never properly explained.
- THE most underrated scene of the show is the Coven Heads just standing there blissfully gazing into the magic cauldron while the Emperor is being taken out of the room, sick (possibly faking it), by Kikimora and Hunter. Is Belos pretending? Does he need an excuse to go punch a wall because he had to see too many witches without masks? Are the Coven Heads unaware what just happened or it's a situation where 7-8 out of 9 won't be too sad if he had to die, and at least 3/9 of them are ready for an opportunity to take the throne? Is it insulting for Hettie that she isn't trusted to take care of the Emperor, or is she feeling like that 'out here living my best life' meme?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
- Again, is Darius in the frame more often or are my eyes just drawn to him👀
- But, yeah, Belos is really intriguing on the first watch, and a good villain. No, he didn't need to be more sympathetic.
- Meanwhile at Hexside - i like how the Bat Queen seems more open and friendly towards the students. And, really, Luz helped the Bat Queen, Bump and Eda all become more open and better mentors/teachers/etc not just to the closest people to them but also in general, and i think it's a shame that fandom ignores this part to focus solely on family dynamics.
- Palisman staffs: in the first season it seemed like the palisman and the staff were more like separate entities, and the witch had to put them together, and the staff without the palisman would 'exist' in the material world, but here the adopted palismen can just transform into the staff form on their own once bonded, and the staff is a part of them (good for Mallow AU) Although the palismen don't seem to be able to fly in the staff form on their own (but Mallow is special~)
- If only we got more about Gus and Perry! Ok, Perry wants Gus to become a master illusionist, but why? Does he himself like the illusion track or is it his way of encouraging Gus to excel in something Gus loves, even if it is not popular?
- Sad we didn't see Scara's wish.
- Luz is so imaginative! Just from the way she starts to ramble to the palismen and goes in different directions... sorry, but she wouldn't write the cookie cutter trope-y fics. Her idea of 'just one bed' would be like that one nosleep story where the bed traveled dimensions, only there would also be betrayal and 1000 plot twists.
- Palismen are getting kidnapped and they are shaking and crying... little guys, you can fly!
Tumblr media
(i know, i know, they can't transform into the staff form on their own)
- Again, Luz is reckless, but she is so smart! Like making Hunter say that he travels quickly thanks to his staff and then getting rid of it. I wish this trickster-y aspect of her was explored more as well.
- Luz is great in this episode and we see many sides of her character, and that's what makes it good. Hunter's story is fine, but not that special🔥🔥🔥🔥
- it's so weird that adult fans either seriously feared that there would be a love triangle with Amity and Hunter or concluded that Luz and Hunter were written intentionally as 'basically like love interests' / 'romance coded' over one single scene of Luz waking him up when that was a visiual gag of subverting how a scene like that could have went in a different media and is concluded with a slapstick. If there were multiple scenes like that, it would've been one thing... but for fans of a primarly comedic show the audience really struggles with recognizing jokes aimed at middle schoolers.
- Hunter is pretty fit, doing parkour without his staff, i think fandom really exaggerates how frail he was. And from what i know, it makes sense for the historical/puritan mindset of 'healthy=good' for Belos to want him to be that way. Don't get me wrong, i think it's great when fanon actually explores Hunter's health from the angle of disability/chronic illness, but at the same time the fandom often tends to lean onto a very specific whumpified portrayal of abuse victims that edges onto uncomfortable 'this what a real abuse victim must be like' territory.
- Oh, and again, Luz is very smart with making the sleeping spell with the glyphs, and Hunter is not the only nerd in the scene.
- "...Garden Club was robbed..." - "By us!" LoL
- Ok, yes, this is still a very good episode. It is good structuraly and has good characterization. Bump's personality shift actually didn't stand out that much this time - i think, because it works well if you look at it from the perspective that he, the Bat Queen and Eda were all changed as mentors/teachers/authority figures once they've met Luz.
Shame that Willow and Gus are barely there and Amity's absence is explained in a weirdly throw away line (i think it would've been better if there was a moment in this episode showing Luz' crush on her, because the crush disappears until Hooty's episode when suddenly it is super important again, and that was weird) but in this episode at least there was a little bit of info about Willow's and Gus' wishes, and so it didn't feel as dismissive as other season 2a episodes.
But it is such a good episode for Luz, showing multiple facets of her personality, and i wish there were more episodes like this for her.
Episode 7
- This episode and the next one are probably the best Eda episodes, but i feel like Luz and King's b-plot could've been utilized better. And season 3 and the behavior of certain raeda shippers really soured me on Raine as a character, even though they used to be my second favourite, but then on the first watch i started to really enjoy their character in s2b, so there is still hope.
- Again team RED placed together on a banner.
- And Darius is conducting Raine's ceremony. I guess Belos can't be bothered, but if there was meant to be confrontation/real narrative connection between Raine and Belos to make the whole possession plot meaningful, here was the perfect opportunity to have them interact.
- Eda tries to save the wild witch in this episode. I wonder whether Eda helping other wild witches was something that was never brought up before or, in contrast with the first episode of the show, meeting Luz really made her less 'individualistic' (as Luz has put it in s1). Anyway, that was nice.
- Seems like Raine only started their operationd with the BATTs recently, since they are giving Raine instructions on how to make their speech and it seems like this is a new thing. Katya: "We actually helped people this time!" - yeah, feels like Raine's rebellion wasn't that successful.
- Gus helping Perry is cute. Perry at the work meeting: "You ask whether i'd rather cover the inaguration of an important coven head or a school competition? Obviously the school competition is more important!"
- i've forgotten about Eber's super vision spell, lol.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
- Luz being treated as Eda's kid was always... ... to me.
- The way the fandom just happily admits that they immediately headcanoned Darius as particulary sadistic or cruel to children or cowardly... when he just throws the BATTs into an (unlocked) cell, literally doesn't care about Raine almost killing him and then hurting him by slicing his arm, and then only mentions 'tormenting' Raine, not even 'torturing' - even as a villain there was nothing worse than punch-clock villany in this episode, and yet certain fans just proudly admit that they were rushing to write him hurting Hunter. Because fandoms looove to automatically assume that the villains of color must hurt white children instead of writing them as interesting adversaries with standarts. And the cowardly part?Just plainly not true in the episode considering his reactions to the corrupted spell or his arm getting hurt.
- But, yeah, if Darius was meant to be a villain, his reactions to being hit by the corrupted spell and Raine hurting his arm really would have been so off? A vain villain who values his cloak over the involment in a rebellion? Sure. But not reacting over the threat to his life/physical pain? (but also it makes me feel a certain way over the fact that we didn't see more of his interactions with Raine even if in a background in the epilogue, because it feels like he really forgave a lot and indulged them a lot, and that was not even an intentional writing choice, but it leaves them in a weird place)
- Darius clutching his cloak x1 (i have a theory)
- My other theory has always been that Eber was upping the volume of the recording to cover the sound of Darius explaining things to Raine (and to annoy Darius too)
- the sigil spell - that's definitely something that would've affected what the rebel Coven Heads could attempt to do when going against Belos.
- Anyway, great episode for Eda's development, but otherwise pretty meh. Especially the way certain things about Raine and Darius just don't work for me - on the first watch it's frustration with the tropes that are utilized. On the second watch it's like 'ok, you set this up to be subverted later, but it still makes this episode feel weird'
Episode 8
- 'Fairies' are bug demons, fully sapient, and yet the witches eat them?
- I like King's voice acting and how his character is maturing. His plotline is ok too.
- Wish there were more episodes focused on Eda's struggle with the loss of her magic and her trying to figure out Belos's plans/how to fight him (it felt on the first watch like Eda's urgency to stop DoU plan just faded away after this episode), but this is one of her best episodes.
- The Owl Beast becoming a curse was so confusing on the first watch, lol.
- Luz's part is ok. But the way crush on Amity wasn't mentioned in 2 previous episodes and then here it's all she can think about is kinda funny. Probably not out of character for a teenager, but i wish the writing connected the episodes together in a smoother way.
- I don't feel bad for Amity being pelleted in this episode after she beat up Hooty in s1.
- The ending was way too silly. And i refuse the notion that Luz is taller than Amity.
Episode 9
- Again, hate the way Willow and Gus are utilized here, their c-plot with the music would've been fun as a c-plot in any other episode, but again they are just taken out of picture instead of interacting with Luz meaningfully.
- Yes, it would've changed ASIAS, but this could've been an episode where Amity and Willow or Amity and Gus go to the Eclipse Lake together, sneaking away while Eda stays with Luz and maybe gets to act as a mentor to whoever stays behind. You could even plot it in such a way that Willow/Gus don't get to meet Hunter, instead dealing with the scouts/separated from Amity and King. Or at least the episode could have had a better bonding experience between Amity and King.
- And i really don't like Eda's part here. Her trying to reach out to Hunter was cool, but otherwise she is just comically irresponsible and incompetent for the most part; and the whole deal with her being unable to turn into the harpy mode and then negotiating with the Owl Beast seemed unecessary and just rehearsing what the previous episode did, when the time could've been spend on other things. And the whole 'it's a wild animal!' towards the Owl Beast even seemed like going back from what the previous episode established.
- But the fandom reactions to Eda's interactions with Hunter are so fascinating (in a bad way) and just highlight the fandom fucked up hierarchy: on the one hand as a white character she is automatically assumed to be nicer than Darius towards Hunter and automatically seen as a 'mom' for him, but as a woman she is still considered too mean and failing poor Hunter even though she doesn't know his backstory and there is nothing she can realistically do in this episode, and she acts in the same 'mean' teasing way towards other kids as well.
- I found Amity vs Hunter fight boring until the end. I know fandom has knee-jerk reaction towards calling s2 Amity bland, but to me she feels like that, and it has nothing to do with her not being 'mean' anymore, but the consequences of her lacking strongly written dynamics with Willow or Gus or King or Eda.
- Even with Hunter here, if there was a continuation/development for Amity - being upset over this encounter and how trying being nice didn't work for her the way it works for Luz, it would've been more interesting.
- But still weird how the fandom focused on whether Amity would be mean to Hunter or not after this episode, while ignoring how Hunter's behavior here had hurt her.
Episode 10
- One of the best episodes in the series, imo. Probably my second favourite episode. The first time around i was too worried how Camila would be treated by the narrative to fully appreciate it, and it really just grew on me afterwards.
- I like how King got more confident: 'don't forget to mention me!' rather than clinging to Luz and crying how he wouldn't let her go like in the 1st episode.
- The way the fandom continued to demonize Camila even after this episode is wild. The first thing she does is freeing a cute animal - which doesn't mean someone is automatically a good person, of course, but in the context of the episode it's clearly a shortcut to show what kind of person she is😭But taking care of Vee and saving animals and trying to support Luz wasn't enough, she had to prove herself by being a 'fellow pop-culture nerd' and taking care of a white boy to be accepted by the fandom.
- And i like how Vee immediately is allowed to show complicated emotions and thoughts, and the way Luz and Vee were not explored at all in s3 is such a shame. If there was just a brief scene... But even with just this episode we have enough information to see Vee as a person.
- Anyway a great episode, a great introduction to Vee and exploration of Camila. Writing-wise probably one of the 2-3 episodes i liked start-to-finish.
----
Conclusion:
i kinda regret not watching episodes 6-10 immediately after 1-5 (but i didn't have time to watch anything) because i can't tell how they all work together, but right now i don't have strong opinion on episodes 6-10 as a whole, because episodes 6 and 10 are great, the rest are somewhat-good or meh.
----
Season 2a thoughts:
But overall season 2a writing is so uneven (even before the shortening) and Gus and Willow are treated so poorly, it is my least favourite part of the show. And while the first season wasn't as 'serious' and had a lot of the same problems, it still was better structurally. And yes, there are many parts of season 2a that are important, and i don't know how you would remove them, but it just shows that the series can't handle all the characters and pace their arcs around each other.
Best episode: 10 or 6
Worst episode: 2

Blue Guard AU Masterpost
________________________________________________________________________________
Luz hopped off Owlbert and waved goodbye to Eda and King.
"See ya after school kid!" Eda shouted down to her as she flew off.
"Bye Eda! Bye King!" Luz waved after them.
She walked up the school steps to where Willow, Gus and Amity were waiting for her.
"Morning Batata!" Amity greeted her with a peck on the cheek.
"Morning." She gave her a kiss back.
"Did you end up fixing Skara's leg?" Luz asked as they walked inside.
"Yep, Amity showed me how to do it and what tools I need, so I'll be able to fix it if it ever breaks on the field. I'm gonna show the rest of the team too." Willow told her.
"That's great." She said.
Willow nodded in agreement.
Everything was going normal.
"Looks like it's going to be a chill day." Luz commented.
I could use one of those. She thought. She was tired from staying up so late, and she didn't want any adventures. A nice, calm, normal day sounded great.
"Well actually, there is something going on today." Gus said.
Luz fixed him with a death stare.
"Continue." She said.
The threatening stare didn't put him off.
"The school is being visited by Carlyne Nazik! Isn't that exciting?!" Gus exclaimed.
Carlyne Nazik! She was there when Philip… she'll know I was there!
"Uh, who is she?" Luz asked.
All she really knew was that Carlyne Nazik was an old demon and involved with Belos's rise, and had some connection to the Clawthorne Clan. Most of it wasn't too positive in her opinion, despite how kind she may have been.
"She's only the coolest being on the Isles! I heard she's almost five hundred! Can you believe that?!" Gus shouted.
Luz glanced at Willow, she was looking at Gus with a sweet smile. A big sibling kind of smile.
"She's a biologist, demonologist, historian, politician, she's a master of magic and old knowledge, she's one of the most important figures on the Boiling Isles. She really is very impressive." Willow explained.
"Huh, sounds like she knows a lot." Luz commented.
"She knows too much." Amity grunted.
"What's the problem?" Luz shot her girlfriend a concerned look.
"She used to come by for prosthetic measurements, she had a custom one, she'd always talk about my dad's past relationships and my parents' school days. She does not have a filter." Amity explained.
"Oh boy." Luz said.
"She's coming today to check out the Hexside students and, I heard she was here to check you out too, Luz! We can share facts about humans! She went to the human realm way back when so I bet she's interested in what's going on there! She's also got this apprentice, I think, they're a rare demon type and I think they are coming too!" Gus said in a high pitched excited voice.
"Me?" Luz stopped in her tracks, oblivious to Gus's excitement.
"It makes sense, she's a biologist, you're a rare species. I heard that she once beat up a hydra because it interfered with her research on a type of flower." Amity said, nudging her a bit.
"This day is gonna be so great! I hope she comes by my class! Bye guys!" Gus squealed as he ran off to his class.
"What's his deal?" Luz asked Willow.
"Gus really looks up to Carlyne, he's always wanted to be just like her, it's part of what kick started his interest in humans, he wanted to bring more information about them." Willow said.
"Oh. That's sweet." Luz said.
"Yeah, I hope she lives up to his expectations." Amity agreed.
"Oh I'm sure she will." Willow nodded.
XXX
Miss Nazik let herself fall off her Palisman to the ground where she absolutely nailed the landing. Argi giggled, her mentor was so funny sometimes.
"Excellent landing Ma'am!" Argi said as she landed next to the towering demon.
"Thank you, Silver. Open the case and let's get this over with." She instructed.
Argi opened the case she'd brought along with them and pulled out the sleeve. It was an easy, practiced routine at this point.
"Arm." She said.
Miss Nazik extended her arm, Argi fit the sleeve onto the nub and pulled it up right. She got the prosthetic attachment on and finally, placed the abomination-oracle powered prosthetic into place. It buzzed as it connected with Nazik and whirled into life. Nazik groaned and flexed the false wrist.
"I'll never get used to it." She grumbled.
Miss Nazik's prosthetic was a rather bare bones design. It had the base skeletal structure, and nothing else, Nazik didn't cover the wires and innards with anything. She always said it was because she was above tricking herself.
"I guess we can go in now." Argi said.
Nazik's dead eye flicked over to her and she squinted. In an instant, Nutmeg scurried into position to act as Miss Nazik's eye. The Palisman curled into a circle, eyes in the middle, in a sort of monical look. The eyes glowed as a sign of the connection being made.
"Thank you Nutmeg." Carlyne gently patted her Palisman.
"Let's go in." She instructed.
Argi nodded and followed closely behind her mentor to the front steps.
The Hexside Principal, Hieronymus Bump, was waiting at the front doors to greet them. His eyes landed on her, they didn't linger very long, she tended to have that effect. The aging witch turned to Miss Nazik.
"Ah, the esteemed Carlyne Nazik, may I welcome you to Hexside School of Magic and Demonics." The principal made a sweeping gesture as the doors opened.
Nazik shot him an unimpressed look.
"You should know not to bother with a flashy show for me, Hieronymus." She scolded lightly.
"What can I say, it's fun." Mister Bump shrugged.
Nazik gave a soft sigh and bent down to be at eye level with the witch.
"You do have a way of making a witch feel quite small, Carly." Mister Bump commented.
"It's good to see you too, old man." Nazik rolled her eyes affectionately.
"Yes, it's been too long." Bump agreed.
Argi watched the interaction, wanting to be invisible for this more private moment between friends, but Nazik said no invisibility on this mission, and she wasn't about to disobey orders so soon.
She felt eyes on her and made eye contact with the principal.
"I see you've brought your, apprentice, with you." Bump observed.
Argi narrowed her eyes, she didn't like how he said that.
"I need to show her the job somehow, she'll be shadowing me and checking out your school on her own a bit." Nazik explained calmly.
"I see." Bump said, clearly examining her.
Argi instinctively moved her hand towards her sword, readied herself for attack. Nazik shot her a hard stare, she wasn't really mad is what it said.
"You've clearly taught her the warrior part of your job." Bump said.
"Yes, she is quick to assume ill intent, it's understandable, given Belos's assignments for her, but I assure she won't really be a problem outside of a little mischief." Nazik nudged her arm, Argi lowered her hand.
"My apologies, Mister Bump." She apologized.
He nodded, though his eyes were still on her sword.
"Maybe you should leave that." He suggested.
"That's a good idea." Nazik agreed.
Argi groaned and put the sword in her spacial pocket, she shot her mentor a 'happy now?' look, most of the effect being lost due to her helmet.
"Now that's settled, shall we begin?" Nazik prompted.
"Yes, I'm sure you'll enjoy it, our first stop is the kindergartners and younger classes, they are very excited to see you, Carly." Bump said, leading them in.
"I always enjoy the children." Nazik agreed.
XXX
Argi felt increasingly uncomfortable as more children stared at her. The kindergartners had been absolutely enthralled by Nazik's presence and most hadn't even noticed her, her hope had been that none would.
However, a select group of children had their sights on her and her alone. They kept looking at her, edging closer to see what she would do, then running back to their friends and excitedly squealing to them. It was odd. She wasn't doing anything.
One child in particular was giving her a lot of attention. The kid was sitting very close to her, kept edging closer. Something was off about them, the way they were staring made Argi feel very uncomfortable.
She had noted that the child was one of the older younger class students, and some sort of demon hybrid. They had features that didn't quite match.
They possessed two pairs of horns, that it looked like they often clashed in their growth patterns, but the dominant set was a lot like her own. They had a prominent nose, it was big and round, but it also had a feline quality to it.
They had wide eyes, with whites that were tinted green, something about the gaze was familiar. They also had wings, mostly like a bat's in structure, but the membrane was clear and insect-like, and they had a single long, thin tail that twitched slightly at the tip.
The child smiled and revealed a prominent pair of fangs… that grew… Palisde fangs… It was clear as day what the child was trying to say.
Argi stared at the child in shock. She didn't know how to respond to that. What was the purpose anyway?
The child got up and walked over to her, Argi was extremely thankful for her helmet.
"Need something?" She prompted.
The child narrowed their eyes, eyes that were shaped like hers.
"Your horns are small." The child said.
"Excuse me?" Argi asked.
"Your horns are too small, they should be bigger and curved, they look like mine." They elaborated.
Argi took that to mean her horns looked like a young child's. Belos hadn't ever wanted her to grow them past a certain point. The child was grinning up at her.
"You are one of us." This time they spoke in Palis, the language she had known all her life but rarely spoke in.
Argi pretended not to understand what the kid had just said.
"I'm sorry, what did you say?" She asked.
"You know what I said. You are one of us. A child of Titans." They said.
Argi glared at them.
"If you are a lost child, you should come home. We are still looking
"I think you're a little confused kid, I've got a home already, and I don't know you." Argi gave the kid a gentle shove away from her.
"You are the one who is confused. It is not your fault, since you do not know. Your false home is built on lies. I can smell them. They are as rotten as he is. And while it is true that you do not know me, I know of you. We are told of all lost children in the hopes we will be able to help find them. we are good at finding, but you were hidden better it seems." They smiled, wide and fanged, at her.
"Alright, just who do you think I am if I am one of those lost children you keep speaking of?" Argi shot off.
She felt a little foolish for being so mad at a child. They giggled.
"You are the one who was lost in an attempt to help someone suffering great pain. You are the lost child, with eyes the color of the boiling blood from which we were first made, and the color of our gifts, perception and longevity."
"And what color is that?" Argi asked.
"You have our silver and gold in your eyes. silver is perception, gold is longevity. You have eyes of silver and gold within pools of blood blue. You have the eyes of our first. The eyes of The Protectors. I know you, lost child. I know you." They spoke with such certainty but there was no way this child had seen her face, much less her eyes. Someone must've told them.
"How in the Blue Moon did you know that?! Who told you?!" The Palis felt strangely natural on her tongue.
She hadn't spoken it in years, Belos hated it when she did as a child. He said it was a tongue of wild magic, and that the Titan would be angry with her for speaking it. She figured she would've forgotten it after so many years, yet out it came, spoken almost as naturally as the child in front of her. The kid smiled.
"So you do retain some knowledge of our culture. It is good to know you can still speak, instead of only understand. He could not take that from you." They said.
"Who are you?" She asked cautiously.
Nobody was paying any attention to them, and they were in a secluded area. If anyone did see it would be assumed as an odd demon child being drawn towards a fellow odd demon.
"I am Vesper. One of my mothers is Palisde, the other is a vampire. You know my mother's friend. They are looking forwards to meeting you again. They have told me much about you. I was excited to learn that The Turtle was coming here, because you would be with her, and I could talk to you. You are missed, lost child."
Missed. No one missed her, someone would've come if they had truly missed her, Vesper didn't know anything.
"If I was so missed, why didn't anyone come looking for me until now? If they wanted me, why wait until now to claim me? What was stopping them from getting me back? I doubt they care as much as you think, Vesper." She scoffed.
Vesper gave her a sad look and took her hand, squeezing it in between her small fingers.
"Please do not mistake their inability for us not caring. We have always wanted you, we want all lost ones to be found, and when we found you, there was nothing we could do. He would not give you up. And we were unable to approach him. I wish it had been different, you are a good sister." She spoke somberly.
"I hope you get to come home soon, I'd like to show you around. You can bring your tree sibling too. I think they would like to learn from us too." Vesper added sweetly.
That made her feel a bit better, she really couldn't be mad at a kid.
"Tree sibling? What do you mean? I don't have a tree sibling." She said.
Vesper gave a mischievous smile, their tail wagged around.
"I am not supposed to tell you, but I think you will find out soon. The Elders say stone hearts hum the most beautiful songs instead of beat. I do not think he knows yet either." Vesper told her.
"I have to go, I am leaving early today. It was nice to meet you and see you in person. Cin wishes you well with your upcoming change." Vesper gave her a hug around her legs and then ran off, waving at her.
Argi gave a small wave back, knowing she likely wouldn't sleep tonight either. She had too much information to process.
Her ears flicked as Miss Nazik approached her.
"Did you make a friend, Silver?" She asked.
"Yes, I think I did." Argi said.
"I didn't think you still knew Palis."
She hadn't switched back! Argi jolted and stared at her mentor's smug face in shock.
"How-"
"Silver, I'm old, granted, I'm not not Palisde old, but old for most, I've learned a few languages. And don't believe everything your uncle says, he's full of shit sometimes." Miss Nazik said.
"Really?" Argi asked.
"You know from experience that he doesn't always have the best ideas." She reminded.
Argi glanced at the floor, she was right. Belos made mistakes, more than she felt was right to admit.
"Now come along, I've heard there's an illusion student who is very excited for this, we shouldn't keep them waiting much longer." Nazik said, leading her towards the aforementioned class.
XXX
The welcoming display in the Illusion classroom was certainly impressive.
The school's top Illusion student had put it all together and done most of the organization work by himself. He'd wanted it to be perfect.
Argi wasn't surprised to see Augustus, Gus, Porter as the secret mastermind responsible for the grand display. She knew he was a big fan of Miss Nazik.
She didn't want to ruin the moment, so she slightly broke Nazik's request. She cloaked herself to match the wall, since she was camouflaging and mimicking, she wasn't technically invisible. Miss Nazik would probably find it funny.
She stayed hidden for most of Nazik's visit to this class, until she went to the teacher to ask for the student who had cast the welcoming illusion.
Gus Porter nervously approached her towering form, and she knelt down to be at eye level with the twelve year old.
"This was quite the impressive display." Nazik congratulated him.
His face lit up from the praise.
"I hear you are quite good at illusions, I talked to one of your classmates, he seems to think very highly of you. He told me all about a very impressive stunt you pulled at some old graveyard. And here I was thinking Steve just lost his map." Nazik told him.
Gus's face fell, excitement replaced by anxiety.
"You know where it is?" He whispered.
"Course I do, I helped make some of those statues. Several of them were my friends, you know." She gave him a reassuring pat and he relaxed.
"I also hear you have a passion for human knowledge, is that correct?" She prompted.
"Yes ma'am, I mean, yes Miss!" Gus said enthusiastically.
"Nazik is just fine, witchling." Nazik chuckled.
"Gus is quite the illusionist, ma'am, some of his other teachers say he could take the Coven Head's place before graduating." The teacher informed Nazik.
"Well he's certainly a lot more pleasant than Gray, and easier to work with." Nazik paused and cupped a hand over her mouth.
"Between you and me, Gray is an arrogant, pretentious, asshole and a pain up the ass to work with." She whispered to the boy.
Gus almost laughed, then covered his mouth.
"It's fine, everyone but Gray knows it." Nazik told him.
Argi stayed put in her place against the wall as Nazik continued talking with Gus. It shifted in topic from illusions to humans, and then while she spoke with other students.
She decided to wait just outside the class, so there was less a chance of someone running into her disguised form. She heard Nazik's farewell to the students, and pulled out her map to find the quickest route to their next destination. Nazik reached the door, and gave her a side eye.
She was stopped before she could say anything. It was Gus.
"Excuse me, Miss Nazik, but I heard you had an apprentice and that they would be here, but I didn't see anyone, I was wondering if something happened to them." Gus explained himself quickly.
Nazik glanced at her, she was hidden just out of Gus's sight.
"It seems my apprentice might have gotten a little overwhelmed in your classroom, and she decided to disappear." Nazik said.
She reached out and lightly dragged Argi in front of her. Gus's face fell with shock when he saw and recognized her.
"You?! You are Carlyne Nazik's apprentice?" Gus exclaimed.
Argi wanted to crawl into a hole and die, she nodded instead.
"Oh, did you make a friend on some mission?" Nazik prompted her.
"Well, you know the incident with the other Guard yesterday? He was one of the ones who got… mixed up in it." She admitted.
"Mixed up? The Golden Guard tried to force me into a coven!" Gus exclaimed.
"He did? Why would he do that? I left instructions not to get any new recruits." Nazik said with a frown.
"Eh, something with Darius and- look I don't really know. I don't ask questions, I just go with him." Argi stated.
Nazik released her, and spoke to Gus again. He hadn't been expecting her, that was certain. At least the younger boy's idea of her mentor had lived up to expectations.
"Come, we've got other classes to visit, it was a pleasure to meet you, Gus." Nazik said, waving goodbye to him.
Argi trailed behind her mentor, she could feel Gus's eyes burning into her back.
"I am sorry, about what happened, I was trying to talk him out of it. Not that it makes any difference." She said without looking back.
She wasn't expecting any response.
"Thanks. I'll tell my friends." That really caught her off guard.
She turned, there was no malice in Gus's innocent smile. He waved and went back to his class.
These Hexside kids are weird.
XXX
The next class was a general class, so there were lots of students from different tracks in it. All eyes were on her mentor when she walked in, everyone knew who was visiting them.
Argi was starting to wish Miss Nazik had let her be invisible for this mission, she didn't like the looks she was getting from the students. She took her place behind Nazik and leaned against the wall. She willed herself to be neutral when she saw some of the Emerald Entrails here. It was the mixed track witch and the bard, Viney and Skara if she remembered correctly.
Stars, please don't let them recognize me.
She remembered her conversation over penstagram with Skara last night, and her cheeks burned from the wave of embarrassment she felt. I hope no one noticed that.
She saw movement, and to her dismay, she had been noticed. Skara was waving to her. She gave a very awkward little wave back. The witch smiled and returned to her conversation with her friend.
Her natural curiosity got the better of her and she found herself listening in on the conversation.
"I dunno Viney, I just… after yesterday when she saved me, hell she let me be on a team with her, even after all I helped Boscha do to her, I guess it was a bit of a wake up call, you know?" Skara was saying.
"And last night, I was talking with someone about it all, and now I realize just how much of a shitty person I've been. I'm surprised I even have any friends left from hanging with Boscha." Skara admitted.
Argi's ears burned. She had talked with Skara, she had just been looking for a distraction. She hadn't meant to make Skara feel bad, even if it was apparently good? she was honestly so confused.
"Who were you talking with?" Viney asked.
Skara cocked her head towards Argi, Argi really wished she was allowed to be invisible.
"Oh? I didn't think she was much of a talker." Viney mused.
Argi could see that smirk from across the Boiling Isles.
"Me neither, but she is. And she's a good listener. She's got surprisingly solid advice for someone raised like her." Skara said.
Did they know she could hear them? They had to know. There's no way they'd be saying anything like this otherwise. They were trying to distract her with their confusing words and make her job even harder!
Or maybe they were just being honest with each other. They had no reason to care if she heard them or not.
"How about you come with me for lunch? I'm eating with Willow and her friends, it'll be an Emerald Entrails lunch!" Viney suggested.
Skara smiled, then glanced over at another student, who was sitting alone in the back of the class with their hood up, her smile faltered.
"Thanks for the offer, but I've got some things to take care of." She said.
Skara got up and went to the lone student, who looked very nervous with her there.
"Do you mind if I sit with you?" Skara asked.
The student grunted and shrugged. Skara sat with them and offered them something. They looked startled, and took it carefully. Skara said something to them Argi didn't catch, the student almost smiled, and nodded.
Argi didn't know what any of that meant, but it looked like a good thing.
She waited for the rest of Miss Nazik's meet and greet, she had a final school wide presentation at the end of the day, and had said something about wanting to talk with a certain student about something privately.
Argi could check out the school on her own when Miss Nazik did that.
Maybe I'll go check out Hunter's new friends.
________________________________________________________________________________
Vesper is a new oc, and a cute little vampire/Palisde demigirl.
Boiling Isles Vampire lore!
There are two types of vampires, a more witch like vampire, so your typical vampire but with some small horns and more bat like ears than witch ears, and the more beast like vampire, which are still bipedal but have a lot more features of the bat creature both types of vampires can turn into, such as harrier bodies, bat like eyes and noses, and big bat wings and a tail.
They are very closely related species, the more witch-like have just barely diverged from the beast-like. Vampire is used interchangeably for both of them.
Neither type of vampire burns in sunlight, they are nocturnal and prefer to avoid the bright thing in the sky cause "ouch too much light in my eyes I'm leaving".
Vesper's mom is the beast-like, and Skara's O'pa is a witch-like Vampire. Yeah Dhampir Skara is a thing here, also in my other toh AU. I just think Dhampir/Half Vampire Skara is cool. Also amputee Skara happens in both. Cause I said so.
That was fun, I love world building.
I hope you all have a good day, whatever that is for you!
Happy Halloween!

more reverse lore + doodles!!! this time I talk about Luz!!
fun facts about Luz in this au! And fun doodle facts too
she transfers over from St Epidern to Hexside around the same time she goes to camp in the show, 14ish
the reason for this is Camila who's in the healing coven gets some kind of promotion/better paying job causing them to move, but also has her working long hours at odd times so Luz is left alone a lot
she immediately sticks up for willow when she sees amity bullying her, and eventually convinces her to transfer to the plant coven
Luz has a weak bile sac, so she gets easily exhausted when performing spells. hence, the potions track. this doesn't stop her from trying to learn other types of magic though!
she manages to befriend willow, Gus, and amity similar to how she does in canon, and they're all very good (girl)friends! :)
for a while at least
her and amity break up when they're about 20ish because amity joined the abomination coven, and because Luz refuses to open up to her :(
when she first started becoming a criminal, Luz thought she needed a cool criminal nickname and started calling herself Luzura and dressing up all fancy. 40 year old Luz just thinks it's ridiculous
luz actually originally wanted to join the emperor's coven! mainly because you can use all kinds of magic there, but she was also fine with joining the potions coven too
current luz has a deep personal hatred for the coven system. much more extreme then canon Eda's disregard for the coven system
eda in season two gets a cool red witches wool cape. that's it that's all
luz is a very chaotic mentor (it's the adhd). she's very silly and doesn't take things too seriously, something Eda is definitely down with, but she's also kind in a way that Eda isn't used to. she's very used to her mom's overprotectiveness but Luz genuinely wants Eda to be happy no matter what that looks like. She's pretty bubbly and occasionally sarcastic for the most part, but also feels really guilty when Eda gets hurt and doesn't let Eda brush it off like she normally does
luz tries so hard to be a good mentor at first. she just bullshits a bunch of it and is very earnest. eda is unimpressed with Luz's failed attempts to teach her magic and weirded out but Luz acty being kind and caring about her. Luz is just trying her best. she also enjoys fucking with Eda occasionally, who never expects it and should know better by now

So the au I was thinking would have had Eda as Hunter's mom and it all started out as a joke I wanted to make about Lilith later and because I wanted Hunter to learn how to carve wood and palismen from Dell. But I feel before I can get into that I have to talk about what Hunter's like in this au.
He's still a prodigy but he doesn't go to school (Eda taught him) though he would sit in a few lessons because he's eager to learn more stuff; Bump allows it and the two probably sit in his office where they talk about stuff or work. If someone messes with him or people he cares about, he's likely to retaliate in karmic retribution (ex. pranks, etc). He does suffer from insomnia. He has his own friends or mainly friend I guess: it's Edric. (this will be goldric) Sometimes, he waits for Hexside to let out so he and Edric can hang out (and I want to say that they get together months before Luz and Amity do). I want to say he's interacted regularly with the rest of the BATs. I kinda want Hunter to do his own thing where he's encountered a few of the Coven Heads.
Before he has Flapjack or discovers glyphs, Hunter uses a training wand or Owlbert if he wants to cast spells. He doesn't care what anybody has to think about his lack of magic, but does care about feeling less of a witch if he thinks Eda (and Edric later on) feels that way too.
And that's most of what I have for this au.
This is interesting as an au where maybe Lilith overhears Belos's plan and takes baby Hunter with her to go stay with Eda to keep him safe from Belos. After a while they, along with King and Luz, become their own little family.
Maybe before Luz shows up, Hunter is on friendly terms with Willow and Gus since he, like Willow, is seen as a lesser witch aka a half-a-witch by Boscha and her group though he isn't afraid of telling them off when they're being mean to him or his friends as I like to image that he acts as the group's big brother (though he is older than them so he kind of is like their older brother).
I like to think that when it's Hunter's turn to be paired with a palisman during the Palisman Pairing Day, he would say something like "I want to learn more about myself while also being able to protect the people that I love from harm." or something like that. I also like to image that Hunter just says that he wants to learn more about himself and Flapjack, without hesitation, goes up to him.
He probably always gets roped into Luz's shenanigans since Hunter feels like he has to keep Luz from getting herself or others into trouble. I personally like to think that when Luz first comes to the Boiling Isles, Eda askes Hunter to keep an eye on her which Hunter was not happy about at first but after a while, Hunter starts to make sure that Luz is safe, not because Eda or someone had asked him to but because he cares about her and doesn't want to see her get hurt, though he'd probably never outright admit it when asked.
I also think that in the episode, "Through The Looking Glass Ruins", it would actually start with Luz about to leave to go see Amity at the library but not before she asks Hunter if he wants to come with her while teasingly saying that Edric would be there which makes the witch blush before saying that he can't go with her since he already has plans. Then when Luz meets up with the Blight siblings, she tells Ed that Hunter couldn't come because he said that he had plans to which Em would take the opportunity to tease Ed and ask him what plans he thinks that Hunter is getting up to, knowing full well that Edric and Hunter are going on a date later.
After their date, Hunter walks Edric back to his place and gives him a small kiss(either on the cheek or on the lips), little do they know that Em saw it and took a picture of it so she could tease Edric later as well as send it to Amity and the others aka Luz, Willow and Gus. Then when the Lumity cheek kiss happens, Edric takes a picture and sends it to Hunter since as Luz's (unofficial) older brother, he should be the first to know about how Lumity's development is going.
Also, Emira, Edric and Hunter are the first to figure out about Amity and Luz's feelings for each other and are huge supporters of it(at least Hunter is after Amity shows that she can be a good person and the episode, "Understanding Willow").
