Hey yall im not dead!

COSMIX!!! I've officially redesigned all the transformations in the Winx Club TV series hell yeah

Lore and Design notes below

So Cosmix is a rather defunct transformation in the modern era. It used to be used heavily in the age of space exploration but since teleportation and hyper speed ships became common place, the Magix dimension prefers to use those. Essentially, in order to set up a teleportation center, the caster/s need to have been to both the origin point and the target point. Witches and Mages were the primary people responsible for setting up the teleportation system, but in order to achieve the spells requirements, they would require help from a Cosmix fairy. The primary function of Cosmix is the ability to fly through space with out detrimental effects. Cosmix fairies can take 1, maybe 2, people with them while they fly in a shooting star esc trail function. Cosmix is not great for fighting unless the foe is darkness/light based. Defense is strong against cold, pressure, and friction, but not most other kinds of damage.

Cosmix is also theorized to be the Magix Dimension's version of the elementix. So like Sirenix is the transformation that grants access to the Infinite ocean, Cosmix is the one that would grant access to the Magix Dimension if fairies were in the other realms. Because humans already belong to the Magix Dimension, and the transformation isn't required to earn Nymphix, it isn't considered a true Elementix. Some fairies (mostly Solarians) do experience biological changes when using the transformation, seen here in Stella, but it's not super common. The hair takes on the magic color and drifts into nebulous star dust and galaxy clusters. Solarians are located closest to Lumenia, a tightly clustered star formation, and frequent attract Lumens due to Solaria's binary star system. They have formed fast friendships with the Lumens and many Solarians carry a Lumen's Blessing (it's similar to the elemental companions' bonds in the elementix) in their bloodline which contributes to the biological changes when using Cosmix.

I'm still hammering out how seaosn 8 works plot wise but I'll add it to my show changes masterlist eventually.

Design! The initial concept was "man i wanna draw some chunky ass boots" and i kinda ran with the cyber punk look from there. I was also adamant that Cosmix is a pants transformation, both out of practicality and spite because they made everyone so hyper feminine in season 8. I referenced the actual cosmix designs and their "space travel" oufits for the general shapes for these, but obviously there aren't a ton of similarities since I went in such a different direction haha. Also my first time drawing Aisha with twists! I almost gave her a fro cus it would mimic an astronaut's helmet (and lowkey a nod to Garnet from steven universe) but i like how the twists came out haha

Cosmix includes! Hair up and out of the way, a mesh base layer with light veins and stars, a body suit or shorts and top, a padded armor torso piece with some tubing ports, so many buckles and straps, a clear plastic portion(usually part of the torso peice, sleeves, or around the waist/hips), wrist/arm guards, and chunky chunky boots. The wings are also larger than most transformations (rivaling Butterflix/Faunix) and trail more of the fairy's magic color than usual. Simple geometric designs are standard.

Nice to see that you’re back, I love your work!! I wanted to ask if you ever thought which Winx girl would fit for Lo’ak. Me personally ,* think him and Musa would go together because they both a strong passion and I feel like they would get each other. You can ignore this if you don’t think so.

Headcanon: Paulina likes/liked Winx Club (past or present tense depending on if you set your fic in the 00s or move it closer to the present) and her favorite character is Bloom because a) dragons cool and b) Bloom's temper and violent streak are relatable to her. (This is the girl who sucks at the cheer part of cheerleading and this fact is SO important to me.) Secretly, her inner child still wants to be a fairy princess when she grows up. After the events with Dorothea's amulet, Paulina's inner child is very willing to settle for being a dragon when she grows up.

However. Up until now, Paulina has been conditioned to believe that being NORMAL is the key to being a cool kid. And leaning into, say, some latent dragon-themed superpowers would be cool, but it would also be objectively weird and this does not compute. Insert existential crisis here!

winx club - age order

okay i just spent an egregious amount of time trying to figure out the age order for the winx + the specialists (+ the trix). so alfea (and i'm assuming cloud tower) are three-year academic institutions. since stella is already established to know the specialists (sky, riven, and brandon specifically), we can assume she met them in their collective first years. & since the specialists seem to graduate at the same time as the winx, that means that red fountain likely has a four year run.

since bloom is canonically 16 at the beginning of the show and stella is a year older than her at 17, that makes sky, riven, and brandon all 17 as well. the rest of the winx (flora, musa, tecna, aisha) would also be 16 (since aisha is 17 at her first appearance in s2). we can also assume timmy is 17 since he's already part of the specialist squad and has likely completed at least one year at red fountain.

now, helia is likely a year older than the specialists + stella because he spends some time dropped out of red fountain but then seamlessly joins the specialist squad in s2 -- which would be the specialists' third year at rf. so, in my mind, after completing two years at rf, helia dropped out and then returned after a year. so it should be his fourth year, but instead he's a third year. this would make helia 18 if he appeared in s1.

when nabu is introduced in s3, we aren't given any information about his schooling or anything that would indicate his age, so i'll just assume he's the same age as the og squad of specialists, which would make him 17 at the beginning of the show.

to reiterate, at the beginning of the show, we have: [stella, sky, riven, brandon, timmy, nabu - 17], [bloom, musa, tecna, flora, aisha - 16], and [helia - 18].

now, just to make it more complicated for myself, i'm going to factor in the canon birthdays. assuming everyone who is the same age is born in the same year (and for easier visualization, i'm going to say their birth years are [2004 - s1 age]), here is the age order:

helia - september 2nd, 1986 nabu - january 30, 1987 timmy - february 15, 1987 sky - march 20, 1987 stella - august 18, 1987 brandon - september 23, 1987 riven - october 15, 1987 musa - may 30, 1988 flora - march 1, 1988 aisha - june 15, 1988 bloom - december 10, 1988 tecna - december 16, 1988

this means that in the year that they all graduate from alfea & rf in s3, the ages would be something like: [stella, sky, riven, brandon, timmy, nabu - 19], [bloom, musa, tecna, flora, aisha - 18], and [helia - 20].

and i forgot if this is only in the 4kids dub or canonically mentioned anywhere else, but the trix are apparently 'seniors' (third years at cloud tower) in the winx's first year. and since they all share a birthday (may 5), this would make the trix 18 in s1 and 20 in s3. (in my rewatch of the cinélume dub, i noticed darcy calls icy "little sister," so maybe darcy is older by a couple hours than icy and stormy just seems like she'd be the youngest.)

i like to play around with school-year cut-offs and i don't think each of the characters that share the same age/grade are born in the same year, so my hcs for age order differ from this list. but yeah :) this is what i could work out based on canon information.

Winx Season 1 Outfits

This was finished in February. It took me half a year to post this, and I'm procrastinating something else rn too.

Season 2 Outfits

Anyway! My reasoning or whatever

The biggest factor for picking these outfits were "What would they realistically pack with them to go to magical boarding school?".

Tecna's outfit is because there is no way that in season 1, she would wear anything not from Zenith. She's used to the fabric and sewing style that is common there, and the fear of Bad Textures™️ is enough for her to have the second-biggest wardrobe on Day 1.

Nearly the entirety of Musa's wardrobe consists of old merch from her mam and dad, hand-me-downs, and whatever second-hand clothes she could afford. She's had many years of experience making them look good and like an active choice, though. She has one of the smallest amount of clothes.

Flora went with comfort, much like Tecna, but they both have very different definitions of comfort. She didn't really think to pack much "nice" clothes under the assumption that she wouldn't be too close to her dorm mates and wouldn't be going out much. Her wardrobe is nearly entirely pastels, and it's a pretty average size, all things considered.

Stella's outfit is that of someone who's done this already and, if she has to do it again, is at least going to look fabulous doing so. She's the only one who regularly wears jewellery, and she wears the sunglasses nearly everywhere (she's sensitive to light, but most just take it as her trying to look cool). She, naturally, has the biggest wardrobe. An outfit for every occasion, including some of her own designs.

Bloom's outfit is nice, but thrown together last second. After agreeing to go to Alfea, she didn't have much time to pack and has the smallest wardrobe along with Musa. (I mentioned in some previous post about giving her a bomber jacket (I believe this was the sketch version of this), and she will get one, just not right now.)

Extra info: Alfea gives students an allowance. It isn't much in the grand scheme of things, but it's enough to get Bloom and Musa a few more clothes down the road.

I was thinking about future Florelia as one does…

I really do like the idea of Flora eventually becoming Alfea’s Headmistress. I can see Griselda wanting to keep her position and not take over Faragonda once she retires.

Flora would probably start by teaching classes, maybe even a new subject like Herbology that goes a little more in depth than Potionology. Maybe even does exchange classes with Cloud Tower.

She does continue her Realm/Land restoration projects on the side, and she would definitely push the school to take part in it too. Bringing students along to heal magically destroyed lands.

Then of course as Faragonda retires, she would ask Flora to take over and she would be thrilled and so honoured.

At the same time, as cute as it would be if Helia took over Red Fountain, I don’t think he would actually want that. It would feel like ultimately resigning to a fate he once tried to escape from.

I do think he would have taught at RF at some point. He’s not the most passionate about teaching but he is good at it. He’s patient and kind, and very understanding. He would still want to pursue Art and I think he would do a good mix of both. At first he’ll feel like he needs to choose but eventually he realises this is what makes him happy and he’s found a nice balance that works for him.

But you know who I’d love to see take over RF, Timmy.

I like the idea of Riven, too. But I feel like Timmy and Saladin share similar characteristics. As much as Riven would grow into becoming a good leader, I think he would enjoy taking over Codatorta’s role more, especially since it’s more hands-on and field work.

Timmy and Flora power-duo is so underrated!!!

But yeah, it’d be really cute for Helia and Flora being teachers at the respective schools, then Flora taking over and Helia going to visit her and him just being chill and enjoying life (painting until morning, wrangling dragons after breakfast then heading on over to Alfea for a little lunch with his wife 🥲) happily ever afters im gonna cry

My brain has cooked something up again and as you well know I love to make that your problem, soooo: it's graduation day for Sky & Riven's year and Riv's trying to figure out why he hasn't seen Musa anywhere. That is, until she gets called onto the stage to award her Specialist with the Top of the Class accolade and wait...but she's his fairy??
