Everyone’s got jokes, don’t they? When they’re sent on errand to fetch a few items, Yuffie thinks little of it: two heads are better than one, especially when there are things out East that still make little sense to her, or that she might not recognize. Besides, Squall has a better command on common tongue than she: so there will be less slip ups, she supposes, when it comes to requesting information, selecting products. 

But she can’t account for the weather: the overcast nor the cold, and how she’s forced to stand flush against the older teen for warmth and security. She thinks little of her positioning until others point it out, particularly an old couple who ‘ is reminded of their first trysts. ’ And such a thing mildly frightens Yuffie, because such feelings are unfamiliar: it suggests something serious, concrete between them, and the shinobi is more afraid than anything to have their friendship collapse because she doesn’t know how to care for it.

The comment does get conversation rolling, forces them to acknowledge mutual attraction. And like a bandaid, Yuffie thinks to get the most painful thing out the way quickly. Would he want to kiss? Would he think it’s awkward? What if that’s the breaking point? One way to find out, and there’s no point in waiting to ask in Yuffie’s mind.

But when he responds, she’s kind of surprised that, well, it went decently. Is he serious ? He’s always serious, that’s a dumb question.. but does she try it? Yuffie’s nervous: while this does sound like something straight out of Tifa’s romance novels, she’s so worried that it’s too soon or maybe it’s really not alright. It’s probably best to let Squall go for it if he’s really inclined. She’s already done the hard ice breaking part: doesn’t that mean something?

:NOTE: So being as the only true and deep ship I’ve explored thusfar on this character is with Seifer, I’ll answer these in regards to that, as well as hypothetical answers where possible (I promise I’m not playing favoritism — Syn is legitimately the only romantic ship partner I have at the moment)

B = Body part (Their favourite body part of theirs and also their partner’s) 

When it comes to his own body, Squall quite likes his hands — they are the tools of his trade and are often the means of his expression and how he interacts with the world around him. He made a point to glove them and try to keep them as callous-free as possible when he was younger, but as he grew older the practicality of that waned and he’s not so careful as he once was. 

When it comes to his partner’s body parts, preference differs widely based on the person, and has a lot to do with how that person responds. For Seifer, ironically Squall’s favorite part is his neck, which happens to be a point of extreme discomfort for the other. He’s very careful not to exploit this in any way, and respect Seifer’s boundaries, but the times he’s allowed to touch or lavish that body part with attention make it some how more desirable because of the implications of trust and comfort. It’s also the part that smells most like him, and Squall quite likes how Seifer smells, and will often wake up nestled close to his neck.

G = Goofy (Are they more serious in the moment, or are they humorous, etc)

Again, this varies greatly depending on the person and Squall’s comfort level. In general Squall’s life is very scripted, down to responsibilities and expected behaviors. There is not much room for personal expression when one is expected to uphold the rules and regulations of a paramilitary institution. Squall knows this isn’t what most would consider a “normal” life and so when he’s allowed to have normal human experiences he does his best to allow himself that experience to the fullest.

Sex and intimacy for him is one of the most fundamental human experiences, and as such he tries really hard to allow it to be what it is without taking it too seriously or conversely not giving it the respect and reverence it deserves. If the moment is serious, and the feelings are serious, he allows himself that experience and honors the moment. But if the moment is humorous or awkward or otherwise lighthearted, he does his best not to change it or make it into something it’s not.

My dear sweet humble Merryweather! I may not have known you for super long, but let it be known that I thoroughly enjoy every moment of conversation we have and every post you have on the dash. On all your blogs, actually. That’s right, I peep you on all your new muses and will support you on all of them. Throw yourself at me. 

It’s been a joy to see you develop your muses, particularly Squall, and all the verses you come up with! You’re so creative? And I love being able to interact with him in a variety of ways, whether it’s VII, VIII, or KH. I’m looking forward to having Dissidia writing with him and Garnet, and doing some stuff with Ivalice in Balthier. I’m so happy that no matter what, our muses seem to get along and have chemistry. Bless them.

And speaking of which... this ship? Talk about adorable! I’ve always wanted to explore Yuffie as a teenager doing... idk... normal teenager junk like sneaking out and going on night drives and eating out and just... wholesome things? Her entire life she never does anything typical, not until like post-DOC and it’s a dang diddly shame. And it’s so great to see her do this with Squall of all people, who like in your VII verse actually has a decent background and his only thing is that he’s just awkward and finding his way. And like he finds his way with her & she’s unlikely but it works out because she’s not the typical kind of girl, and... ugh. You’re ruining me, Merryweather! But thank you so much for like, being willing to have this ship with me and explore this dynamic and... you the MVP.
