I've seen people going 'But how can Haschwalth see what Uryu's going to do when the whole point is that Uryu's immune to the Almighty?' and the answer is he can't, he is lying.
Like: Why does Haschwalth only ever insinuate or make vague innuendoes about how he knows 'something' Uryu doesn't want him to know, up until Uryu says outright at which point he's immediately like 'Ah, yes, I foresaw this' ? It's because he's lying.
Why does Haschwalth bother forcing Uryu into a 'prove you're not the traitor by fighting Ichigo' thing if he's already foreseen that Uryu's a traitor? It's because he's lying.
Haschwalth says that he destroyed every Sun Gate, and then immediately afterwards Isshin and Ryuken use one of those Sun Gates, how can that be? It's because he's lying.
Why is Haschwalth only doing this now, when he's definitely had the Almighty before because Yhwach's not been solidly awake for an entire week, and would have foreseen it then? It's because he's lying, and he's doing this now specifically because he just got back from murdering his friend, and he's taking it out on Uryu and trying to prove that Uryu's just as bad as him.
Why was Lille watching Uryu through his sniper scope, clearly ready to kill him if he didn't kill Renji, suggesting that Yhwach has also given orders to watch Uryu and take him down if he's a traitor -- a thing Yhwach wouldn't have to do if the Almighty worked on Uryu, because he'd already know? It's because the Almighty doesn't work on Uryu, Haschwalth is lying.
What's up with Haschwalth's eyes flashing blue at various points during his conversation with Uryu? It's him trying to use the Almighty on him and failing. He's lying about it working.
Anyway, point being, Haschwalth's fibbing about seeing Uryu's future with the Almighty, and actually he's just careening wildly off the rails because he doesn't know how to cope with the guilt he feels over murdering his friend, the feeling that he betrayed Bazz, his suspicion at Uryu, and his resentment over Uryu 'having his cake and eating it' and being able to be in Yhwach's good graces while also not having to kill Ichigo.

So the previous page actually has the plot development here, where Uryu points out that if Jugram has the Almighty right now, Yhwach does not (and is also asleep), so Ichigo should take the chance and stop him while he's weak. Great character work, builds upon established fact, mechanically sound storytelling.
But it just doesn't hit the way this page does. Look at them!

Gee fuckin' whiz, reminded once again about how much the ending to Bleach irked the heck out of me, like really just left a big ol sour taste in my mouth after reading it. Which, yes, had a lot to do with it being rushed, but felt a lot like being written into a corner more than much else
[OBLIGATORY SPOILER WARNING FOR A NEARLY DECADE OLD MANGA ENDIMG: FOR ALL YOU ANIME-ONLY FOLKS, JUST SCROLL ON BY]
Okay but for real, it bothers me so much because it feels so lazily put together. Like the whole premise for Ywach was that he can see the future, ALL POSSIBLE FUTURES and REWRITE THEM. That's God. That's author-level omnipotence for a character, and unless you have a REALLY good reason why they get beaten, it feels poorly written.
And the worst part is THERE WAS A REASON RIGHT THERE. So like, the whole gimmick with the eyes and whatnot, and the way he describes his powers is that he is literally SEEING the future. Maybe not with literal future eye-balls, but there is a human perception that is being extended supernaturally into the future because cool anime powers. THAT I'd what should have been exploited.
Because a character that can infallible see into the future should not be able to lose. They beat him with the Quincy Kryptonite Silver, and yeah, cool, that's nice that there's a "this was made out of your victims' last moments" level of ironic/karmic retribution that I love, but there's no established reason that he would not have seen that coming from the start.
Uryu's Antithesis is not shown to be able to circumvent the the Almighty, but you know what WAS confirmed to fuck with it?
Aizen. Kyoka motherfuckin' Suigetsu fucked with Ywach MULTIPLE times INCLUDING when he absorbed the Soul King.
Kubo has described Aizen as "the gaze into the Sun" and I think the ending should have leaned SO MUCH HARDER into that angle. If Ywach's Almoghty is based on him PERCEIVING something in the future, I think as soon as Aizen knows that, he should be able to project his illusions to Ywach "through" the visions of the future. He has all seeing eyes, but he'd still go blind if he stared at the sun.
Like, in the case of the ending we got: Ywach SHOULD have seen it coming. MY reasoning is that the explanation ought to be that Aizen fucked with the Almighty so that Ywach "chose" the future he thought he won with, but but was actually the one he loses.
And like, yeah, I think there should still be the Quincy Kryptoniye, and I think the symmetry of Ywach deciding the future and Tsukishima deciding the past should still be there, AND i really like the "psych i sent you a vision from Almighty, but you thought it was a dream" betrayal, but for fucks sake give me a better reason to believe you literally omniscient character would ever have fucking lost like this.
Honestly it should have been like that scene in Fake Karakura where all the Captains ganged up on Aizen and all their powers were in synch to take him down (but, you know, actually have it work). Like yeah, get Tsukishima to fix the sword/powers, get Uryu to snipe him with Kryptonite, get Jugram to fake him put, but good lord use "I can literally control all your perceptions" man more intelligently than "lol, I was ginger for a second"

Lille Barro's Godlike Power
Tumblr media
In my opinion Lille Barro is the most interesting member of the Schutzstaffel.
Tumblr media
He is the first Quincy that Yhwach granted a Schrift which makes him believe that he is Yhwach's greatest creation/masterpiece.
Tumblr media
Despite not being part of the Soul King like the other members he had the powers of a god and led the Schutzstaffel or so it seems.
Tumblr media
Lille Barro was quick to correct Oetsu when he stated that he gain an additional power when he was revived through Auswahlen but I think was a hint to why he is so powerful.
Tumblr media
I have a theory that Lille Barro's original Schrift was A: The Axis. I think like Uryu he received the same letter as Yhwach.
Tumblr media
While Uryu received it because he was Yhwach's successor, I think Lille Barro got it because Yhwach's Almighty was sealed by Ichibei so a replacement was needed.
Tumblr media
I think Lille Barro's original power had to do with the optical axis. According to Wikipedia it's the "imaginary line that passes through the geometrical center of an optical system such as a camera lens, microscope or telescopic sight." Which fits with his sniper aesthetic. The emblem on his eye looks like a crosshair. His eyes and third eye lid in his second Vollständig form are reminiscent of camera lenses. I think it gave him a superior eyesight for sniping.
Tumblr media
Letzt Stil has an ability similar to Sklaverei. I think similar to Quilge he used it to absorb a soul and that soul being a Fullbringer. I think when Lille Barro restored his powers his new power awakened changing his Schrift.
Tumblr media
I don't know if X has any special mean to the Fullbringers but I think this a big clue to Lille Barro's connection to Fullbringers.
Tumblr media
Fullbringers can manipulate the the soul in objects. It was explained all things in the world have souls.
Tumblr media
I think this ability augmented Lille Barro's powers allowing him to penetrate all.
Tumblr media
I think it explains why his Vollständig is so unique among the Sternritter and why he as a second form. Similar to Ichigo having two Zanpakuto Lille Barro has two sources of powers.
Tumblr media
He had similar powers to Aizen and in Bleach one way to Godhood is the pouring of one soul into another to sublimate it.

''What's with the episode title? What does 'A' even mean?''
Tumblr media
''Probably stands for 'The Almighty' which is Yhwach's ability or Uryu's which is called 'Antithesis', wow you're an idiot. Wasn't that obvious from the episode? Was that too complex for your tiny, tiny, peanut brain?''
Tumblr media
''It also stands for ASSHOLE because you're an asshole older brother. Loser, weeb, otaku.''
Tumblr media
''Oh hey, good job. You actually know how to spell!''

Rewatch cour 2 and I still like this additional
First I thought it was kind of "Blut". Which make me wonder why he need it to "protect" his eyes ? Its also different from normal blut where the mark is glow dark blue instead of faint-blue one like this... when fight Shutara, Uryu's Blut Vene mark is same with the others
Then there is a scene where Yhwach easily escape from "Cage of Life" after throw his medallion and switch place between him and the medallion, I just realize it was Uryu who help him escape by using Antithesis not Yhwach's Almighty (If its was Almighty, Haschwalt shouldn't surprise since he know a lot about Almighty)
Before that scene, we see this additional scene when Uryu look at the sun of Soul Palace. This make me wonder if this some additional detail of how Uryu eyes looks like when he active Antithesis. Which is very good additional and kinda parallel with this Almighty due to focused on the users eyes (Except instead of extra pupils, uryu has blut-like marking)

Quincy Encyclopedia (Thousand Year Blood War arc version) Part 27
Haschwalth : Today I shall explain regarding the Schrift of His Majesty, which is none other than The Almighty itself. Haschwalth : It allows His Majesty to observe all possible futures at once like countless grains of sand in the wind and can thus act accordingly using the knowledge he has gained to anticipate and counter his opponents. It could alter the future into whatever outcome he desires. Haschwalth: There is however one more wonderful feat he could achieve with Almighty. But that for now remains a classified secret of His Majesty. When the time comes- Haschwalth (saw the scene of Uryu sporting the same red eyes as Yhwach playing out on the LCD screen): ... Haschwalth then stares at the audience long enough, signaling if probably you are wondering the exact same thing as him

Jugram is such a liar, lol. You can't tell me "the Almighty" is an inferior power for battle than whatever you have. Uryu's entirely justified in being a little cocky here, because he survived the worst you could possibly throw at him. Now it's just Quincy A vs. Quincy B. A fair fight.
Also, just from a narrative sense, you're not fighting the protagonist, the guy with "the Almighty" is.

But in the anime, he's done just that. He used "Antithesis" to swap Yhwach with his thrown medallion to get him out of the Cage of Life. He fought against the members of Squad Zero when the Schutzstaffel were initially downed. Now, he seems set to be the one to defeat Senjumaru to seal Squad Zero's defeat.
This will doubtless put him in a precarious position.Spoiler
Once the arc ends, Squad Zero will be able to say that Uryu played an active role in their defeat, in helping Yhwach kill the Soul King. Even with him still aiding in killing Yhwach, he still played an active role in things getting to that point. We know he still returns to his life in the Living World, but there are bound to be other repercussions.
--------------------------------------
P.S. Yhwach's incantation for the Auswahlen gives us the following: "Raise them! Silver emblems, ashen meadows, circular path buried in light. Eye of agate, tongue of gold, skull cup, coffin of Adnyeus. The object we raise is your heart. Auswählen."
I don't know how many spells and incantations in Bleach have names contained within them, but that a name appears in the anime incantation for Auswahlen...I have to wonder if the anime just dropped the name of the Soul King.
Thus, we finally see a second Zerobantai Bankai, Shutara's, and it was insane. I really wish I could work out what her Bankai name and abilitites mean, I cannot really find anything regarding it, and I have no time to guess. But it seems her loom envelops enemies within cloth and she weaves a prison of cloth for each of her foes. It is almost as if she becomes the loom and cloth. Interestingly, before she ties off the cloth we can see that each of the elite guard and Uryu and Haschwalth are embroded into the cloth. Even still, it seems as if each cloth prison signifies something regarding the person she killed, perhaps. Uryu is facing a Quincy medallion with light coming from or going to it, perhaps signifying his objective to kill Yhwach who robbed him of his mother and Quincy family. This is just a post release quick interpretation, but nevertheless, it is interesting to think about.
Then it ends on Ichibe releasing his Bankai to reassign a name to YH, Black Ant - thus seemingly defeating the Quincy God.
There is so much more I could write about, but the one thing that comes to mind is this contrasts well with the new scene from the previous episode where Ichibe steals the Almighty from the Yhwach and says he will remain blind until his death. It creates an interesting parallel for what is ultimately to come.... Spoiler
the man who robbed YH of his omnipotence and omniscience is also the one to give it back to him.
Everything I have discussed I feel fulfils the magnitude of who the Zerobantai should have been in the Manga, and it gives me a feeling of vindication that Kubo was able to ultimately deliver a thrilling battle for the strongest Shinigami."

okay but is there anything that can really piss him off?
But why would you want to piss off the guy who does obscure stuff like this and you will have barely under one second to try and register what he's even doing before you are dead?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
That 'joke' aside, the only actual way to get to Jugram and make him angry or piss him off in any way, is to get to his pride. He is an exceptionally, a near staggeringly arrogant and prideful man, to a point where it borders, for him, on apathy. Jugram does, at least when it comes to the middle of the TYBW, not believe that there is anybody who could beat him or who could beat Yhwach, I would say he is aware that there are those amongst the soldiers of the Seireitei who would have had the power to outclass and outdo Sternritter, but when it comes to his own power and his ability of the Balance?
That is not the case for him. He is perfectly levelled with the idea that he can beat those around him and, as it usually is with him, the only reason he does not move on his own is because he does not receive the orders to do so. Mind you, I don't say that he can't be beaten, but his pride and arrogance are grounded in his knowledge of his level and skills. This is where his apathy comes in. If someone's belief overarches the point of knowing that there is nothing that can [ at least outright ] beat them, those they work for, those they fight for, the person that they deify, then why would they concern themselves with those that try and pick on their pride?
And that is very much what Jugram thinks and how he acts. If someone tries to tell him that their goals and purposes are illogical and are meant to fail? He doesn't care, he has no reason in his mind to even give someone spouting this "nonsense" the time of the day.
So, if any of that would be broken and if it were to only be a little bit, like only a sliver, then yes, there is a high chance that someone could catch him off guard to a level where he would retaliate and lose his cool. We also see that in the manga - once - in exactly that kind of constellation. His whole fight with Uryu shows what happens when that deeply rooted faith and dedication into something - or someone/someone's power - is only scratched at the surface, even though Jugram's prowess had never been questioned in that same light. [ Chapters of the fight: 661, 672 - 680 ].
What made him lash out at that moment? The simple fact that Uryu was able to challenge Yhwach's gift of the Almighty, the very blessing that Jugram held for infallible, for something that is beyond anybody else's reach but His Majesty's and his own.
TL;DR: So, if you want to piss this guy off who doesn't blink nor consider for a second if he's killing a friend or foe, you might want to dig extremely deep to try and break his ego. His pride. His dignity. Normal stuff will not work with him, since he's convinced and persuaded by his might and the one of his God. Also he's, ngl, fairly immune to the general rabble you see all around the place what people are trying to do to "hurt" someone and believes that to be pretty tasteless and boring, so good luck.

Because Ichigo is still resisting his Quincy side.
He accepted Zangetsu. His Quincy and his Hollow sides. But he doesn't understand the resentment that his Quincy side would have toward the Soul King. He's Seen It All, but he doesn't understand it. He's told as much during the battle: he's seen the visions, he knows what happened on some level, but he hasn't had time to parse it. The awareness is in his subconscious...which means he can't properly act against it.
He wants to say "No, don't do this, this is wrong", but he cannot convince his Quincy side why it's wrong. Not in the Presence of the Almighty, not while holding the Sword of the Quincy King. If he'd been told everything, if Osho had sat him down and discussed the History of the Soul King and the History of the Quincies, he might have known. He might have been aware. He might have been able to stop himself.
But he was not privy to that knowledge. Remember: the Quincy King's blood resides in him. As of now, Ichigo will still return to him when he dies. Just as it stirred to free him from Quilge's jail, how it moved to automatically protect Ichigo from the King's blade, Ichigo has been relying on his Quincy powers through instinct. And just because Zangetsu allowed him access to all of the powers does not mean that Ichigo has learned to control them fully.
It's the price he pays: he's been granted an unbreakable defense and a tremendous well of power, but he did not stop to think about what the price would be. It's similar to his Hollow abilities: he had to take time to bond with and accept White. He has not done the same with his Quincy abilities. This is most clearly expressed with his determination to drag Ishida back over to his side: he has not yet heard Uryu out. He has not had the chance to talk about why he took on a Schrift and fights alongside the Sternritters, why he struck down Squad Zero. Uryu needs to come back over to Ichigo's side and that's that, and until Ichigo can figure out why Uryu's doing what he's doing, he's going to lack the power to connect with his Quincy arm...because he still sees it as an enemy.
"The Blade is me" and "The Quincy blood in you will not permit the Soul King to exist" are two fundamentally contradicting statements, and it's frustrating that people don't seem to understand that.
Which is it: Has Ichigo mastered himself and is in control of his powers in totality, regardless of where that power comes from, or is he enslaved to their whims like he always has been?
If "The Blade is Me" was a factually correct statement, Yhwach should have no power over ichigo whatsoever. Ichigo should've been able to pull out the sword at no risk to himself, or baited Yhwach by pretending go along with the compulsion before attacking him instead.
But the statement is factually false by Yhwach declaring "The Quincy blood within you will not permit the Soul King to exist" turning Ichigo's own Quincy side against him, declaring it will kill the Soul King regardless of Ichigo's own desires. Which narratively speaking tells us Ichigo has NOT mastered himself and never will.
I ask again: Which one is it?
What was the point of introducing that whole concept, and the Quincy parasite pledging fealty to Ichigo, if the idea was immediately contradicted by having the parasite betray him?
Kubo, pick a fucking lane, you hack.

Post Future
They were new. Uryu knew this well enough, looking out towards the Soul Reapers approaching their camp. The young Quincy surrounding him looked down his line of sight, looking back up at him when he didn't seem to react.
"Sensei?" One of them asked, and Uryu looked down at them, eyes darting between them, before he crouched down carefully, bringing himself down to eye level with them all.
"I told you all one day I would have to go away for a bit, right?" They nodded, and Uryu smiled, ruffling a few of their hair, and they pouted, and some laughed, leaving him grinning. "Well they're here, and you have older family who can care for you just as well as I can."
"You'll come back to visit sometimes, right?"
Uryu stood carefully, nodding. "Of course. I'll find time to return to you all every once in awhile. I won't be like the old."
They nodded carefully. He had told all new generations of Quincy the stories of the past Almighty, and how he would do everything he could to not be like him.
The new Soul Reapers, babies of their craft, stared him down like they could take him. Uryu smiled at them, gentle and calm as he always was.
"Quincy Almighty, by the-"
"Order of Central Forty Six, and Head Captain Kyoraku Shunsui, I am to follow you, I know, I know. Lead the way, I'm not about to resist in the middle of our home."
The Soul Reapers looked around at the collection, the elders teaching the younger, the ones too young to learn running around together and laughing as they dodged around the legs of the older teens during their breaks. The small town that Uryu had built with the life of new Quincy was thriving, and Uryu was finally secure enough to go back to the Soul Society with them.
He let them put the cuffs on him. They were supposed to suppress his spiritual energy, but they barely put a damper on it. He didn't say anything, however, content to let them believe they had declawed the cat.
The travel was quiet, neither willing to speak to him, and Uryu not up for starting a conversation with them. They were children, but not like his children, the ones he had raised from infancy. These were cocky, believing their simply hundred years was in any way comparable to Uryu's thousands.
He was old, much older than they could ever believe, and Uryu let them believe that they could take his power away.
Kyoraku was not nearly as naive, but his orders didn't come from Central Forty-Six like they children flanking him believed.
Uryu ended up in front of him, and Kyoraku smiled. He was much older, physically, than Uryu remembered, but it had been a few thousand years. Kyoraku was so tired. Uryu figured he was going to let go soon enough. Being without Juushiro had hurt him deeply. He'd lost nearly everything in that war with the Quincy of Old.
"Ahh, Ishida!" Kyoraku grinned at him, and Uryu smiled politely back, lifting both hands-since he couldn't lift them separately currently-to wave at him. Kyoraku sighed shaking his head. "God, they don't learn do they. I didn't want them forcing you."
"You and I both know that only one person has the power to make me do something I don't want to, and that he wasn't there." Uryu shifted, then snapped the cuffs, shaking them off. "How's he?"
"Oh, you would know if you visited more often." Kyoraku teased, probably parroting something he had heard before. Uryu shook his head.
"I had to be sure the Quincy would thrive without me."
"And the treaty going through certainty helped, did it not?" Kyoraku winked, and Uryu smiled, knowing that Kyoraku knew the real reason he had waited that long.
"Uryu!" There was a pause, and Uryu glanced behind him. He had forgotten about the children, their hundred years terrified of the sight in front of them. After all, it wasn't often that the Soul King came down from his post. Ichigo Kurosaki had a job to do after all. "There you are. Hiding from us like that."
Ichigo slung an arm around Uryu's shoulders, and Uryu huffed a sigh, rolling his eyes. "You know exactly where I was."
"Doesn't mean it wasn't nice not to visit once in awhile. Orihime misses her sewing buddy, and Chad's been wanting to talk to you for awhile now."
"I'm sure they were the only ones who missed me." Uryu sent a look at Ichigo through the corner of his eye, and was pleased at just how quickly he could still get the Soul King to go bright red.
"Yeah, yeah... Anyways, thanks Kyoraku, for bringing him in for me. Have a good one, alright?" There was a look that passed between them, and Uryu smiled, content in the knowledge that Ichigo also knew of the man's impending death.
And they were off, Ichigo tugging him along but his hand, and Uryu going along completely willingly. They got away from the rest of the Soul Society pretty easily, Ichigo dragging him into the Royal Realm.
No one was around at first, and that was a blessing, as Ichigo pinned him up to the wall, kissing him hungrily. Uryu didn't blame him, tangling his hands in Ichigo's hair, messing it futher. It had been a few thousand years since they had seen each other in person. Near Omniscience on both their parts wasn't nearly as amazing as being able to feel each other's skin physically again.
"I missed you." Ichigo muttered into his mouth, pulling away just enough to be able to. "Knew how important this was to you, but I was getting impatient... Wanted you back."
"It's alright." Uryu smiled, pulling back a bit further, shifting his hands to cup Ichigo's face, grinning. "I did it. I managed his dream, and that's all I needed to do."
Ichigo grinned at him, and dragged him closer to kiss him again. Uryu went willingly, clinging onto him.
"Oi, you two! Stop swallowing each other whole and get over here! You can get reacquainted later!" Rukia's voice rang out, and Uryu huffed, pulling away, shaking his head, but grinning. Ichigo grinned back, carefully fixing Uryu's hair but not bothering with his own.
"This is kind of what you get for being gone so long. We've all missed you."
"I know." Uryu turned his head, looking out at his collected friends, the children that he knew of, knew about, but didn't know more than they knew him from anything other than stories. "I'm happy to be back though."
"We're all glad to have you back. C'mon." Ichigo pulled back, taking his hand. Uryu smiled slightly, and followed him willingly, mission completed, back to family. Back to home.
