not all grad school readings are created equal! jk even the classes i have real textbooks for i get to watch a lot of TED talks. today was the first day of the new quarter, although i don’t have an on-campus class until tuesday. i’m taking:

Every Friday for my follower celebration, I’m going to feature one of my followers. Today I’d like to celebrate @almastudiess and her story. Below you can read her story in her words.

I graduated high school in 2011, and at the very beginning of 2012 I was already moved into my dorm and ready to begin my english translation studies. I became very depressed and had to move back into my mom's house in 2013. But I didn't want to let what had happened to me stop me from pursuing my dream, so I tried to go on with my studies for another two years (2014-2015). After failing again, I moved in with my grandparents and signed up for graphic design. I realized it wasn't my thing after two years and decided to just get a job, but before I could, my family convinced me to start studying to be an English teacher. And here I am, on my first year, as happy as can be, taking it one day at a time and enjoying being with my family, my friends and my dogs.

I'm not the kind of person to set on only one goal, I like to set multiple goals and take it one day at a time and one of them will come true. I've learned that life changes and dreams change as you grow so I keep my options open and just focus on being happy every single day and things will fall into place.

Intro to me lol

Hello! I’m a new studyblr and my brand is incompetence.

But actually, I’m a high school senior in the US. With this blog, I’m hoping on getting better about maintaining my productivity in 2019 and being able to study more effectively as my workload increases. I also hope to find a community to keep me motivated. Yes, I am gonna be that bitch™️ and flex that I got into MIT!

(don’t ask me how because I honestly don’t know)

Subjects that I like include biology, chemistry, psychology, English, history, politics, and philosophy. Classes I’m taking this year are psych, English, gov, French, physics, and calc. In college, I’m planning to major in bio/neuroscience and philosophy. Tbqh I might get into political rants on this blog sometimes so if you’re into that kind of thing you’re in good hands.

1. Are you named after anyone? Yes, I am named after my grandma (dad’s mom). My full name is Rosalba, which in Italian, my language, literally means pink sunrise, but I prefer just Alba, which is sunrise and I just love it!

2. When was the last time you cried? Last week. I was on my period and I was worried about something that had happened and when my bf tried to comfort me, I started to cry like a baby. But I cry a lot tbh, especially when I am upset, it’s just my own way to let things go.

3. Do you have kids? No, not yet at least, ‘cause I hope to get married and have my own family asap. I want three kids, although my bf wants just two. Who will win? :P 

4. Do you use sarcasm a lot? Sometimes I use it, but not that much.

5. What’s your eye color? Warm brown and I’m in love with it tho.

6. Scary movie or happy ending? I don’t know actually. It depends on a lot of things: if I wanna spend a light night with my bff then I’d chose an happy ending. I’f I wanna watch something with my bf then I’d watch a scary movie, ‘cause he likes them and also it would be an excuse to cuddle with him, you know. :P

7. Any special talents? Special it’s a big word tho. I’m good on a lot of things (writing, journaling, illustrating) buuut I wouldn’t say special. I’m not special, I’m just normal.

8. Where were you born? In a child’s clinic in Catania, Sicily, Italy.

9. What are your hobbies? Oh God, that’s hard tho ‘cause I have soooo many hobbies that I don’t even have enough time for all of them. I like to journal, to write, I like photography.. I like to play Dota 2 (online game for pc), I like graphic design (which I wish it’ll become my job). I really like a lot of things :P

10. Do you have any pets? I have a 13 y/o dog, called Maya, which I love more than my own life and 5 Zebra Finches which keep me company when I’m home with their song. I love all of them.

11. What sports do you play/have you played? I played volleyball when I was a kid. I did 5 years of swimming and now I go to the gym.

12. How tall are you? 175 cm.

13. Favorite subject in school? Italian and Latin literature and - call me crazy - math.

14. Dream job? Graphic designer. But I study psychology, so... who knows what I’ll end up doing.

15. Why aren’t there 15 real questions? I don’t know what do you mean. :P
