So, fun story about rural Mich farming and our shit-ass aboveground pool.
It didn't freeze. Not very well. Maybe about half an inch of ice on top in the dead of winter (well below -20F at the worst, most of the time between -10F and 10F). In the summer we were seeing 80F on up with little by way of functioning AC and a house that was NOT set up for effective cooling.
That pool as shitty as it was was a LIFELINE to us.
Our power went out at least 2x a month. Often it'd stay out for three days and one memorable Christmas we had a 2 week blackout and a month long ice storm. We were on well water which meant that if we lost power we couldn't even flush the damn toilets.
Having a tiny resevoir in the backyard just before you hit the front field saved our lives. It meant we could keep the bathub and empty milk jugs filled with drinking water and still have something to flush with, considering our 4x4 truck with allwheel drive and snow tires sometimes struggled on the icy dirt roads that were all we had for miles around.
Summer tho? Summer that pool kept us from heatstroke. Even if we didn't yet have the heat on all 7 of us kids would decide "house is hot, outside is hot, pool is cold. Pooltime it is." and get the stupid boombox and cooler of juiceboxes and snacks and spend all day in the pool until the sun went down and things cooled off. We took breaks, sure, and we definitely needed soooo much sunscreen but there were days when even chronically sunburnt vampire-white me was in that pool because my upstairs bedroom was reaching 100 degrees with the AC on.
for a literature essay im writing im inexplicably looking up a lot of articles abt private pools and american culture and now im curious.
i'm dutch, and to me a private pool seems like the height of ostentatious luxury. i don't know anyone in my country who has a private pool, i grew up swimming in public pools or whatever random body of water was nearby, lakes or rivers or canals or whatever. american media has so many private pools though, are they really that common?

In Korea, they use. a lot of Korean cars in Asia. They do. And they use probably and they will build and the new ones they use up. It's the same number. It's around 5 trillion Hyundai a year. However, this is top side and they're used globally. And they are about 200. trillion per year. Period. Now, those numbers will still be the same or more. the economy is going to go wild. And. These cars are well thought of out of those 200 trillion per annum. The. cars in question are probably about. 40 trillion. It's a lot There's a couple places. in the car where they way too much. and one of them is the seats. So we have to change the kit. You have to pull the seats out and they don't look like super car seats. The trim is heavy, but the door is coming out.. The other item that's rather big. It's about 4 or 500 pounds Are the automobile panels.. Now we know that the panels. are. made out of more steel as a composite. than metal.. The metal panel that we can provide the formula for as a higher. crash rating in all the areas across. the board tear ripping, causing injury, strength, deflection, and more And there are also additionally as a bonus they resist rust very well. Now, this panel is. about a mid level panel and. the cost to make it would be about$10 a panel cheaper and we want to introduce this to the automobile industry. One of the biggest selling points would be that the new panel is a 9 of the bullet resistant chart.
and the companies did not test themetal do not want the recycling to occur and would state the pnels are good steel needed for weapons and tke it all and they failed. and we take it all. and tommy f saw it tld them and tey startd now it is out yes and mroe too shorlty

this is great we do this and try to get in the panel design. now too. and the bradley gt1 up and runnin yes lol love it. and more parting out will push th e parts industry now too

we are up to it move factories tonight huge ones lots too. the panel is going into the office monday. and they testing is done yes. tons sy they were ready and are. if no we can do it they suck and we reycle. now we use only tested stuff.
twenty percent more of the midwest up tonight and then will be 55 percent. less the delta we work on it mb up to 5 percent of it tommorrow. goood they sall say gret he says. and fun Thor Freya say
the idea is so hot it is ridicluous. no the super cars take a powder. no time and no place to drive them too many cars true.
no our son says at tnight and air shocks nd allwheel drive on the shoulder adn back. and good we see it is right. need the harvester scout II but later not much and on the cmpact not subcompact. sortly. but they use the compact bu twe find ones th boy is messd up and good.
now too
Thor Freya
we are going to make it work and have the time sorta but need it now tons wait so we wotn. we mak them both. now

A portable pump track shared between four schools in West Auckland is helping children enjoy school time more, and gives their schools a valuable shared recreational resource. Don Buck Primary School board member and parent Olga Mills first noticed a ParkLife modular pumptrack for bikes, scooters and skateboards at the Henderson Massey Local Board Offices, and saw how popular it was.
youtube
“It has been really interesting seeing the track’s value in engaging kids who may not really be that keen to be at school - if they like coming to ride on the track, then the whole school experience is more positive, and that is a good thing.”
She started to wonder what could be done to offer more to children in the neighbouring Massey suburb, where that type of recreational facility was thinner on the ground. “It got me thinking about what we might be able to do for children in our area, and why not try to get one of these tracks for them to use?” But Olga was conscious that there is always a risk that providing such an asset for kids to use could also result in them getting bored with it, and after a few months it languishes unused and wasted. “Having that ‘novelty’ factor is quite important for kids these days, and it’s also a question a potential funder has to ask – ‘will this facility get a good level of constant use over its lifetime’?” The Don Buck Primary School board agreed the idea to seek funding for a modular pumptrack was a good one, and that the idea of sharing a funded track among the four local schools would be a way to maximise its reach across the community. Rotating it around schools would also help retain a level of novelty to keep kids coming back to ride on it frequently. “We ended up getting all four local schools on board, Don Buck, Birdwood, Lincoln Heights and Massey Primary.” Getting in touch with track suppliers ParkLife and working with director Sally Farmer, they decided to opt for the easily erected intermediate rhythm straight pumptrack. Its 29m length it was relatively quick to assemble, good for all children to ride on, and easily transported between the schools.
Tumblr media
Olga approached Transpower as a funder, and was pleasantly surprised after following the application process when the electricity distributor provided 100% funding for the track. “Transpower, via their Community Care Fund assist communities where their assets (pylons, lines and substations) are based by investing and supporting community based projects.  The track is appealing because of its ability to be moved between schools and from a funder’s perspective it will serve many children across the community.” The track was funded, sourced and erected in time for the first term 2019 kicking off at Don Buck Primary School, and Olga admits some trepidation when school opened for Term 1. “The track requires some concentration to ride upon, and you do have to put some energy into riding on it. Initially I was concerned that not as many children as expected were using it.
Tumblr media
“We found that not having bikes nor helmets was a barrier. But through some generous donations from both the Fonterra Grass Roots Fund and Bike Barn those barriers were eliminated, and soon the track filled up with school kids keen to test their track skills. “There were plenty of kids on it by later in the term, riding bikes, scooters and skateboards. “It has also been really interesting seeing the track’s value in engaging kids who may not really be that keen to be at school - if they like coming to ride on the track, then the whole school experience is more positive, and that has to be a good thing.” From schools the track gets a thumbs up for its robustness and its portability. “For me, and from a board perspective the track is a real asset – that ability to share it is something funders really appreciate, they see that the use is constant and ongoing as children come back to it.” Olga said the open, flexible approach ParkLife have towards track configurations means there is ‘something for everyone’ in terms of track type, the area it can fit into, and the budget available for such an asset. “And it is certainly safer than some of the dedicated skate bowls around – this has been well suited to the age of the children who are using it in primary-intermediate school.”

Myth now in E format: Audi e-tron S - like an all-wheel drive Quattro?
Myth now in E format: Audi e-tron S – like an all-wheel drive Quattro?
[ad_1]
The Quattro myth is said to live on in the electrical age. The new top model E-tron S has now been equipped for this. For sporty drivers in particular, this results in a driving experience that is in no way inferior to that in the classic all-wheel drive quattros and is even superior. The aprons at both ends are still colored in Müllmann orange, as are the side sills. The…

We have to tell you they're not getting the idea.
Tumblr media
You saw blade is a ripping saw that's what you said it's because cutting that direction doesn't take that much energy and it is kind of beefy so it doesn't bolts are afraid to upend or and it can heat up and stay straight. This is a good symbol for the vehicle I would like it and we can come up with new ideas and the car the truck or car really be like A like the one he showed that can SUV kind of it would look more like a Troy build vehicle and it looks dirty and Stout hey people buy it 'cause they want that kind of truck and we'll research how big things are like a regular full size stove inside the box and things like that. We're going to go ahead and present this idea it is intense and it is awesome. There are several companies we have in mind that we have an idea that these would sell like madness people are asking how big is it it would be the size of a small SUV but the shape would have a lot more space inside like a Volkswagen Golf has space And we want to make it so you can order it as utility vehicle or an SUV and we'll have one size on 1 vehicle. we wil have attachements and each an electric motor no need for a pto which are dangeorus hard to use.
he adds a winch windless and it means electric and enough to drag it we do it..and a bumber system if one wnts not needed but cooler and good.
i added the bumper Hera says
we add a cooler, spot too and plugs in to theoutlet right on the inside near it
we add a fishng rck system for the rear and or top you can move it but fits boht
we add a normal rack no hd and nice
we add a luggage hold for atop the roof on the rack or smaller self racking
we add tinted windows
we add two tone and mag wheels
we add lrger wheels as an optoin
we add towing packages and two i think yes
we add thetow bar and optoins all troy bilt style
we add a snow plow like i had on my small utility veh. and they are cute but work so add allwheel or four wheel drive
we shall. too. but we add a larger motor and aspriated from the to for coolness
we add a bbq system for out back
we add an offroad package wiht offroad jeck tow package front rear winch light rack racks push grille and bar etc
we add a smooth transiton to this projectyes
good we work

2022 Ford Maverick Review!!
David: What's up? Hey, it's David here again with another video. Today, I have something awesome. I'm so excited to finally have one of these trucks to show off, been wanting to do a longer video on one of them for a while. This one was just bought by a coworker and great friend, Aaron Rogers. Aaron, thank you so much for letting me use your truck to do a quick video. But this is a Maverick XLT, two-liter EcoBoost engine. This is an all-wheel drive. It's an awesome little truck. This thing is mid-$20,000 range. You just can't beat it. Ford is going to crush it with these trucks. Without further ado, let's do a little walk around. I'll show you everything about this little truck. Thank you. David: All right. Here it is. This is the all-new '22 Ford Maverick. This color is iconic silver. They make them in tons of different colors. One of them, on the other side of that Mercedes there, is carbonized gray, another common color. But this one is an XLT, so mid-level trim. You get a little bit nicer wheels, nicer interior. But the thing about the Maverick that's just so awesome is the price point, and versatility, and what it's able to do. Every single one of them are a SuperCrew unibody design. David: You still got tow hitch down there: four-pin and your seven-pin. There's your bed. It's a four bed... excuse me, four and a half foot bed when the tailgate is up. Then, it extends out to six feet when the tailgate is down. There's a little storage cubby in there. You can undo that; fit a little bit more goodies inside. Everything is pre-wired. You can do another brake light or whatever you want to do back here. Bottle opener, when you're cracking open a cold one after you sign the paperwork to come buy your new Ford Maverick. Crack open a cold one to celebrate when you get back home. David: This tailgate comes just above my knees. It's nice to not have to have a big old truck to climb up in and out of. You still get a backup camera. This particular one is all-wheel drive. You can get them an allwheel drive or front-wheel drive, or you can get it with the hybrid engine. That is front-wheel drive only with the hybrid. They designed this to allow for bigger water bottles and things to fit in here. Handle: it looks totally different than anything I've ever seen, but it's really useful. Looking in the back, it's a smalllooking truck from the outside, but it has plenty of room. David: Check this out: storage all day long back here. Pull this strap, and it folds down. I want to get in here. Charging options. This is cool right here. They have 3D printer designs where you can make your own cup holders and different accessories. You can 3D print and stick it right in there. Ford is really going above and beyond to make these things as useful and versatile as possible no matter who's buying them. David: This is pretty cool. It goes all the way back to the corner of the door. It can stick even more stuff back there. You got power-folding mirrors and, of course, power mirrors. All four windows are powered. This one's equipped with the optional Ford Co-Pilot360 where you can see the blind-spot monitoring in the mirrors. This one has the upgraded tow package, the 4,000-pound tow package. You get your trailer This transcript was exported on Nov 04, 2021 - view latest version here. All-New 2022 Ford Maverick Review!! (Video Walka... (Completed 11/04/21) Transcript by Rev.com Page 2 of 2 brake. Again, that's an option. Part of the XLT is the cool orange styling here. I think Ford is secretly a Tennessee orange fan. David: Hopping in here. This is a base XLT. You can upgrade a little bit more options like adaptive cruise, and heated seats, and heated steering wheel. This one does not have it. But get in, and it fires right up. This screen here: fully Android and Apple CarPlay enabled, Bluetooth, of course. You got your FordPass Connect, where you can connect your phone and the vehicle together to do all kinds of cool stuff. Automatic, over-the-air updates. Down here, you got a phone holder. You can also prop your phone up right here. Cup holders: every one of these has a dial shifter. You got your brake hold, auto-stop-start, traction control. You have your different drive modes here. David: This looks like a marble top. It's plastic, of course. But it looks marble. It's just an overall great truck. Let's look in here at the window sticker to give you an idea of the price point. A lot of people could use this truck. You don't have to spend 50 grand on a giant truck anymore. You can just spend anywhere from 20 to low 30,000. This particular one is 28,485. That is with destination delivery and the couple of options that are on here. David: Full warranty from Ford. You also get our Lifetime Powertrain Warranty here at Ted Russell Ford that we include as well. Price point is hard to beat. If you don't need a full-size truck, you definitely need to give the Maverick a shot, all while getting 30 miles per gallon, highway in about 25 in the city. It's just a great truck; super excited that they're finally starting to roll out. I can't wait to, of course, sell these. I do like selling cars. David: But thanks for checking out this video. If you have any questions, please text me. My phone number in the description, it's 865-679-0322. I know this video is a little longer, but I'm just excited to show off the Maverick. If you have any questions, please reach out to me. I'd love to earn your business. I love doing this job. I'll help you in any way I can. Please like the video and subscribe. My goal is to grow the channel. I'm just now starting out. But I want to use it as a tool to educate as well as grow my business. Thank you for checking this out. Hope you have a great day. Thanks so much.

Volkswagen T-Roc R 2020 long-term review
Why we ran it:To see if VW can succeed where rivals have failed and give us a fast crossover that's as good to drive as a hot hatchThis car had a lot of convincing to do, as a £40k-plus motor as well as a 296bhp allwheel-drive Golf R on stilts. Did it succeed? - 2 December 2020I am really going to miss the T-Roc R. I never thought I'd say that about a performance crossover, but there you have it. I've taken a leaf out of this government's book and made a U-turn. The concept of a performance crossover no longer makes my teeth itch with frustration quite like it did before life with this particular Volkswagen.I guess I shouldn't be too surprised, really. Around 6000 miles in any car, let alone one with 296bhp and a 4.8sec 0-62mph time, is likely to inspire some kind of fondness for it. But I'm pleased to report that said attachment isn't just a result of prolonged exposure. For all of the negative connotations that compact crossovers might evoke among enthusiastic drivers, this one has been genuinely enjoyable to live with. Genuinely fun to live with, even. The Mk7 Golf R-based car has certainly seen its fair share of action since landing in the care of the Autocar road test team back in June. Of course, Covid-19 has prevented my road test colleagues from spending quite as much time behind the wheel as they usually would, AD: autel ap200m. but that's not to say I've let it off lightly. In addition to numerous work assignments, it has been through a house move and multiple tip runs, where it proved itself capable of swallowing a surprising amount of clobber, so long as you're clever with your packing. It took me and my housemates camping, too.Not only was the T-Roc R spacious enough to cart the four of us and all our equipment from London to our chosen field, but it also acted as a damn fine shield against the bitterly cold winds that threatened to batter our four-berth throughout the night. Who says camping in late September is a bad idea?Meanwhile, the car's loftier driving position and adaptive dampers made it reasonably comfy over distance. Previous experience shows that adaptive dampers can be tricky to come by in this segment, and without them some rivals have proved to be too stiff and unyielding in how they ride.Volkswagen arrives late at the crossover hatchback party. But can the T-Roc still turn heads in a congested segment? Not so the T-Roc R. Sure, it's noBentley Continental GT , but the added pliancy that Comfort mode brings to the car's on-road demeanour means I've never winced at the idea of having to use it for those longer trips. Unlike some of my colleagues, I haven't been across to mainland Europe in this particular long-termer, but on a 500-mile-plus weekend trip to North Devon and back it was relaxing enough. Yes, it could make a point of clattering over some rougher sections of rural back road, but such intrusions were never bothersome. In fact, it's on these tighter, more technical sorts of roads that the T-Roc R is most in its element. Here, you can really revel in its grip, body control and pace. Even in particularly adverse conditions, this remains an entertaining and confidence-inspiring car to pilot; and although it might be slightly taller and heavier than a Golf R, the T-Roc R gives up very little dynamism and outright competence to its hatchback relation. Having driven both back to back for a previous report, it's nice to be able to say that with absolute confidence, too.I suppose the only real-world test the T-Roc R hasn't been put through is its annual service, but the powers that be have decreed it's time for the VW to leave the fleet. It's a bit unfortunate that we're unable to comment on this aspect of the ownership experience, but for what it's worth, the car has been faultless during its time with us. Aside from topping up the screenwash and treating it to the odd clean, the T-Roc R hasn't required any work at all – and I'm sure we'd be saying the same thing in a year's time if it did stick around a while longer.Of course, everyday use has revealed a few gripes, although none is too serious. The plasticky interior is still a source of disappointment, but this is m...

RAY MASSEY: Jazz up your summer with Honda’s hit city car
These are challenging times, so what better way to relax than with some Jazz.
I did just that this week at the Berkshire launch of the fourth-generation Honda Jazz compact city car — powered by a nifty hybrid electric-petrol system.
This was the first UK coronavirus-compliant car launch under strict social distancing and safety measures coinciding with showrooms re-opening.
Birth of the cool: Honda’s new Jazz variant, the Crosstar mini SUV has integrated roof rails and 16 in silver and black alloy wheels
The Crosstar accelerates from rest to 62 mph in 9.9 seconds, has a top speed of 107 mph, but will still manage 58.9 mpg and CO2 emissions of 110g/km
Since launch nearly two decades ago in 2001, more than 406,000 Jazz models have been sold in the UK (including 17,000 last year) out of 7.5million globally.
A rival to the Toyota Yaris, Ford Fiesta and VW Polo, it adopts technology pioneered in the all-electric ‘Honda-e’ and is the first of six new ‘electrified’ Honda models due by 2022.
For the first time, there’s a Crosstar variant with a reduced size SUV-style that is more flexible, funky and practical than the standard version.
Visibility in the new Honda hatchback is much improved, thanks to a wider windscreen and much thinner pillars. Sound-deadening improvements mean it’s also 10 per cent quieter than before.
Visibility in the new Honda hatchback is much improved, thanks to a wider windscreen and much thinner pillars
This is my favourite. It rides higher than the standard Jazz, has integrated roof rails and 16 in silver and black alloy wheels.
Mine came in fetching ‘Surf Blue’. The 109 hp hybrid system combines a 1.5 litre petrol engine with two compact electric motors.
Jazz Crosstar EX
Price: £22,635 (£23,185 with metallic paint)
(Jazz hatchback range starts from £18,995 for the base level SE)
Seats: 4/5
On sale: Now Length: 4,090mm Width: 1,725mm Height: 1,566mm
Ground clearance: 144.2mm
Type: Petrol-electric hybrid.
Propulsion: 1.5 litre petrol engine linked to 2 electric motors.
Power: 109horse-power (HP) 0-62mph: 9.9 seconds
Top speed: 107mph
CO2 emissions: 110g/km
Boot capacity (seats up): 298 litres
Boot capacity (seats down): 1,199 litres
It can run in hybrid drive, pure electric mode and engine drive and can move seamlessly through all. The smart, contemporary interior has pleasant, soft-touch materials and an uncluttered dashboard.
Comfortable front seats dispense with springs in favour of a slat system to reduce fatigue and relieve back pain. There’s also more legroom in the back.
Clever flexible rear ‘magic seats’ fold down to increase load- lugging space fourfold from 298 litres — more than enough for a modest shopping trip — up to an impressive 1,199 litres.
The brake pedal positon has been changed to optimise the foot-angle. To help taller drivers the steering wheel is 2-degrees more upright.
Occupants are protected by 10 airbags – including a new front-centre bag to reduce the impact of front passengers’ heads and bodies colliding. Whiplash-mitigating front headrests are fitted.
A smart-phone app allows owners to keep in touch with their car when away from it – including tracking its movement and location via GPS satellite and giving you an alert if it exceeds a set distance or ‘geo-fence’ while someone else – whether off-spring or a partner – is driving.
It will also alert you if the car’s secutity alarm is activated.
The standard hatchback accelerates from rest to 62 mph in 9.4 seconds up to a top speed of 108 mph, but offers pocketfriendly fuel economy of 62.8 mpg with CO2 emissions of 102g/km.
The standard hatchback accelerates from rest to 62 mph in 9.4 seconds up to a top speed of 108 mph, but offers pocketfriendly fuel economy of 62.8 mpg with CO2 emissions of 102g/km
The fractionally longer, wider, higher Crosstar accelerates from rest to 62 mph in 9.9 seconds, has a top speed of 107 mph, but will still manage 58.9 mpg and CO2 emissions of 110g/km.
Standard prices from £18,995, rise to £20,185 for the SR and £21,385 for the EX variants. The Crosstar, from £22,635, is available only in top EX trim.
BMW 4-series promises a great knees-up
Wondering if the sleek new BMW 4- Series Coupe is fast? Here’s a clue.
It has knee pads on the centre console to help drivers cope with its ‘sporty driving style’.
And with its large-framed kidney-shaped BMW grille exuding brash bling, you certainly won’t miss it out on the road.
Hold tight: The sleek new BMW 4- Series Coupe has knee pads on the centre console to help drivers cope with its ‘sporty driving style’
New mild hybrid technology features on the flagship motorsport-inspired allwheel M440i xDrive Coupe version costing £55,875.
It goes from rest to 62 mph in just 4.5 seconds, right up to 155 mph.
That’s thanks to a 3 litre 374 hp six- cylinder in-line petrol engine with 48v electric motor and eight-speed automatic transmission.
Yet it manages about 40 mpg with CO2 emissions of 155-163g/km. Prices from £39,870 for October deliveries.
Kia Picanto gets a high tech makeover
KIA’S spicy Picanto just got tastier with a series of new upgrades, telematics and safety features added.
To improve cornering and braking, it has a range of electronic stability controls. There should be lower emissions from its re- engineered 1 litre and 1.2 litre engines.
Expect prices from £10,000 with higher-spec models closer to £13,000. Design tweaks are evolutionary, not revolutionary with a more purposeful look and sharper lines.
Customers have a choice of ten vibrant paint finishes and a range of customised interiors including one in lime green.
It goes on sale in the UK and Europe this autumn with the Korean car firm’s seven-year, 100,000-mile warranty as standard.
Car sales crashed by 89 per cent in May to their lowest since 1952 with just 20,247 sold compared to 183,725 a year ago, according to latest figures.
