Skyward Sword anniversary!!! Since there are 4 LoZ games that released on these days of the week, I have elected to draw only 2 SkSw Links. They are:

There is nothing they can do.

Reality buckles, bends, and then snaps—a paradox unfolding and then collapsing in a singularity in the young Hero of Legend's hands.

The Three weep, a single moment in which to grieve, before all moves backwards. Time runs in reverse. Evil is unmade, wars are unwaged.

A different Hero dodges what should have been a fatal hit, besting the Demon King.

The wisher's world gone, nothing of it to forget.

It never was.

An updated WIP and more Links for Quartets AU that needs a better name.

Some story if anyone's interested, there's more in terms of like, Quartet pre-split, some specifics during the Four Swords games, but I'm really just piecing this together as it comes to me.

Link pulls the Four Sword to defeat Vaati, splitting into Shamrock, Azalea, Delphin, and Verbena. They maintsin the ability to refuse using the sword, although they have rejected the name Link in favor of Quartet.

Upon defeating and sealing the wind mage, the heros choose to seal themselves in the sword as well to be sure that if he was to ever escape Hyrule would be safe.

Ths Four Sword Sanctuary remains undisturbed until A Link To The Past, in which the sword has somehow (working on it) been transported to the dark world / Palace of the Four Sword. This switch has somehow corrupted the heros with Vaatis magic (again, working on it. Vaati is gone tho.), the Link of this time fights them assuming they're Dark Links or something, but this actually frees them from the corruption and they become an ally to Link, who they allow to wield their sword.

After the adventures of this Link (later nickednamed Dreamer or Savior by Quartet) they are once again returned to the sword until another adventurer finds them. This is the Link of Zelda 1, (also later nicknamed but currently undecided).

I plan on expanding on this more, especially Dreamer because Quartet also definitely accompanies him for LA (Based on Realm of Memories). They're definitely sealed through the events of ALBW, TFH, and EOW, I'm unsure if they're with Dreamer during the Oracle games. I do think they accompany Link #2 in TOAL tho.

Now. Four Swords happens before the timeline split, and Four Swords Adventures does not happen in the same one as all of this. I know it's non-canon but I am going with a BOTW / TOTK is a timeline merge universe, so although these are technically two different versions of Quartet / The Garden, they later merge into one while sealed in the sword and are pretty unaware of the fact time screwed up.

So in this timeline the Four Sword has remained completely undisturbed since the events of the original and it pretty much follows as expected except instead of there being a new Link to pull the sword and break the seal, it's broken naturally by Vaatis power and Quartet comes along with to save the maidens and Zelda. They manage to defeat Vaati and redeem Shadow because I really like him, he's neat. Shadow isn't as powerful as he is through their adventure though, I think I'm taking the ideas from the manga where he sacrificed himself and all that, but the gang brings him back as their actual shadow and he accompanies them in the sword.

They remain sealed until TOTK, where Link finds them in the Great Sky Islands. I have no reason for them being there YET I just wanted him to find them early. Dreamer doesn't face Quartet until he's able to enter the Palace, which is basically the end of the game iirc, I'm undecided when Link #2 gets them but it's likely pretty early as well.

TOTK Links nickname is Ruin or Tatters, unfortunately Quartet (mostly Delphin ngl) is a bit of a jerk to him at first. Not very impressed.

For the third timeline with WW, PH, ST, they are never reawoken with or without Vaati and the Four Sword was lost to time (and the flood probably).

Also. No one say anything about the swords. They're SO HARD TO DRAW 😭

HW: all three timelines converged into one, bringing heroes, enemies, and more from each. The timeline guardian (is that Lana/Cia's title? I can't remember) is irreversibly split in two. It isn't actually Link's fault, yeah, but it's his 'adventure'.

OOT/MM: 'lived' in three different timelines; died in one, killed ganon in another, then left that timeline to a third. The goddess literally had to flood the world in the second timeline because it was so irreparable. They don't call him the Hero of Time for nothing I suppose!

ALLTP (and all the other games he's in - this guy can't catch a break): made a wish to fix what ganon had done, essentially saving OOT/MM Link back in his time, so that there could be the two extra timelines where he didn't die (fun fact. He's also named after himself bc of his oracle of ages adventure, at least in the manga adaptation).

Ofc it might play out very different to what I imagine, that’s even highly likely, but I’m still SOOO EXCITED!!! (If it’s a fakeout where you don’t get to fight him or smth like that I’ll be so mad)

Also, that blue swordswoman Zelda seems pretty cool, tho I did like the idea of her not using any actual weapons,,,, Zelda cosplaying link is fun too lol

Detailed Synopsis;

Ancient forces have returned to the living world in the shadows of the divine. It struck before the goddesses can react and captured the goddess of courage, intending to spread their plague to the other three. Before she was fully imprisoned, she sent a warning to the goddess of Time; no one hero was enough, they needed as many hands on deck as possible.

Thus, the goddess of Time reached throughout the ages and pulled the heroes of old into one final adventure. They must battle the shadows of their past, present and future. One stumble, one falter or one wrong step, can lead to the end of the timeline and the creation of a new eternal age of darkness and despair.

Meet the Links (below the cut)

Artisan | ALBW/TFH (they/them) - A boisterous and adventurous young fellow. To the outside perspective, they can seem rather loud and oblivious--and they wouldn't deny it, either! What runs deeper, however, is a young person who has lost the deepest love, hoping desperately they can pick up the pieces left behind.

Engie | Spirit Tracks (he/they) - The Engineer is a smart young fellow. He's quite the boy scout--smart, kind and...a little too trusting for his own good--but he's terrible at fighting. He's shy, and not very people smart, but stubborn. In spite of his rather...poor sword skills, they've never heard the term "give up".

Eras | Hyrule Warriors (he/they) - In his prime time, he was the head of the Royal Guard, the most loyal soldier and best strategies. Now a retired war vet, Eras struggles in the shadows of the war. He's quiet, calculated but loyal to a deadly fault. He would do anything it takes, if that meant he could protect his family and kingdom.

Faye | OoT / MM (any/all) - A former hero that'd been turned into a monster upon getting lost in the Lost Woods. He's mistrusting of people, quiet and sneaky. If you aren't close with her, you'd think she's standoffish and unapproachable. Underneath that calloused exterior is a soft spoken child who wants to be loved. They just. Don't think anyone would love them enough to try.

Feathers | Skyward Sword (he/ae) - Determination is aer middle name. Feathers is confident, snarky and slightly egotistical. Ae had a taste of divine ichor and they're not afraid to drink from the devil's chalice again. Feathers is exceptionally skilled for a young man at his age. POTS has never stopped him, even if its gotten significantly worse since the beginning of this adventure...

Minish | Minish Cap / Four Swords (they/them) - Minish has never been one for talking. They're reserved and self contained but quite bright. As a system, they've never felt like they've had a place to slot into. Turmoil from their past still lingers as an echo in the back of their mind, and with the freshness of their adventure, even at the young age of 12 they have a lot to think about.

Mirror | alltp / Oox / LA(he/they/ze) - Mirror has had zer fair share of adventures--honestly, he was pretty sure he's seen everything. Once a glowing and legendary adventurer and mage, Mirror is quite happy to retire and settle down with Ralph. In their old age, they are snarky and imbittered. Though the hero's courage still rests deep in his soul, an inexplicable cowardice has taken hold--or perhaps it never left?

Tune | WW/PH (he/him) - Tune is a carefree sailor hailing from Outset Island. He's very intune with the winds, seas and the culture of his home. As such, he is carefree, reckless and a bit of a goofball, and that can often come off a bit childish if you don't know him personally. For someone his age, he's skilled with the sword and oddly nonchalant about the risk of hurting someone.

Rancher | Twilight Princess (he/she) - Though he is but a simple farmhand from Ordon, Rancher is exceptionally brave, often going out of his way to help those in need. Possessing a heart of gold and dogged loyalty to his greatest good, Rancher is the ideal hero. The only thing marring her perfect image is a shadowy form and a regret that boiled his blood.

Wild | Botw/Totk (he/him) - The traveler is a curious fellow. He's quiet, reserved and holds himself with an air of mystery that befuddles and intimidates those around him. He wears his life on his face and scars, yet no one knows much about him. Inside he fears the lack of control in his life. Though the shrine has cleansed him of his self imposed silent burden, he lapses occasionally into that silence. Under all that, he is quite the adventurous young fellow and enjoys a good challenge.

Zonau | 10k hero (he/it) - Zonau is a mysterious fellow. He is quiet, reclusive, and tired. Many years have passed since he had given up on adventuring. To say he is disgruntled to be on another adventure is...quite an understatement, really. In spite of that, he is not a barer of the hero's spirit for nothing. He adventures with a wild spirit, even if its been dulled over the years.

Little theory about Zelda Echoes of Wisdom timeline

Alright i figure I should do a quick lil post about it before the game release. Because i have some thoughts about where it could fit in the timeline? Actually i have a couple of possibilities i wanna share. With people questioning themselves with what we learn on the promotional materials, trailers, & japanese website + 1 image of the beginning of the game there's lot of speculations going in all direction.

Minor possible spoilers ahead (but besides map & screenshot from the website & trailer nothing much)

First nintendo somehow change the downfall timeline a bit and I just notice now WHAT IN HYLIA?!

Hyrule historia timeline (2011)

Tears of the kingdom masterworks (2024)

Did they just casually swap Link’s awakening with the Oracle series?? Why? How? I- I don't understand. Is it because of LA remake? A link with theh possible development of Echoes of Wisdom?🤔 (ahah get it?) (We’ll probably have to wait years to know were exactly it fit too now… i mean finger cross that Nintendo will reveal it in a few months…)

So now where does EOW would fit hm? I saw many speculations on it:

Same world/Link as ALTTP, LA, and the oracle series (soft reboot remake)

2. In between ALTTP and ALBW : but different Hyrule, different Link & Zelda

3. After ALBW, different Zelda & Link

4. Before ALTTP? Different Hyrule and Zelda but a Link we already know? (more of a crack theory of mine but hear me out later ok?!)

So one of the most logical take would be it's in the same world as ALLTP, LA etc. With the same Link Zelda etc

Could be after LA or Oracle or in between but in all cases after ALTTP. And that would be another adventure for this dear Link and Zelda! But there's a few things that people point out that didn't work : Like it's not exactly the same hyrule/map even if it's similar, there's Gerudo, Mojo, Gorons, Zoras etc, references to the goddess Hylia, to sheikah etc

Well yes it's a good point! But it could just be because it's kind of a soft reboot remake? In 1991 lot of things in more recent Zelda games just didn't exist. And I wouldn't mind a remake of ALTTP rebooted with lot of extra things. So ALTTP happened before that but not the way we know it probably.

It seems the map could still kinda fit apparently.

As for 2 & 3 options well that could be possible but there's a few things bothering me 🤔

Link seems like he's at full lvl, like he already save Hyrule and came back from an adventure. So which one? Would be weird if we never saw it before. I can’t refund the image but it’s in one of the last trailer : there’s a man on a building calling for help because he’s attack by a moblin. He ask if we’re Link to help him out. Another clue Link helped people around before.

(Plus ALTTP & ALBW Hyrule are to similars from something like this to be a different incarnation and in the middle. Same with after ALBW and between Zelda 1&2. Gerudo, Gorons etc fit more before than after ALBW when they all disappear afterwards.

Some people point out it couldn't be ALTTP Link because his hat have a green strip instead of yellow?

Well Link in Link's awakening remake have a green strip.

Some other people point this out ^ too. That if Zelda don’t know Link they can’t be the same as in ALTTP right? (Well they did that in Oracle too apparently?) in TOTK many characters who are supposed to know Link have no idea but it’s the devs choice for new player so- could be for new players too. So no accurate in lore? and i mean Zelda here is trying to stay anonymous. (See the wanted posters all around hyrule for her). If she says she know Link and it’s her bestie she might get into trouble 😂 so who knows..

4. Ok here’s my crazy theory but i hope it’s not that. But if it happened hello?!

Ok more seriously if it's indeed a different Hyrule, different Princess Zelda than in ALTTP/LA universe (even if well everything point at at LA sequel), maybe it could still be the same Link! The same than in LA remake. Who was send back in time (or the future)? (that would be why there's Gerudo, Mojo, Gorons etc). That would explain why Link is so OP, why he's helping everyone around and why he went directly to fight Ganon to save Zelda. But man the implications... that would be insane? And- how?! If it's really that I will blame the Wind fish. So wait in that case would that meant he could be the ancestor of alttp zelda if how is a few century before?! *faints* still think alba zelda being his descendant his more logical too... anyway-

Bonus

My 2 grain of salt theory on Tri is that if Link does have the triforce at the beginning of the game. Well his wish to protect hyrule/zelda could have summon Tri. But who knows.

In all cases the game is releasing soon! Cannot wait! And we might get seattle on all of this soon! Or not 💀 if the zelda team stays vague at usual… (Sahasrahla save us please! No seriously he would be a great indicator). I still think it might be a ALTTP/LA sequel (while being soft reboot but... well people did touch very interesting points... we'll see)
