"Oh - fuck yes, please," Jamie agrees, leaning over to get close to her [ as if it were still the days of wired headphones, back before bluetooth headphones were the only things everyone would have, where you'd press your thigh to your friend's, your head to theirs, and share in the intimacy of music ]. He takes the earbud and presses it into his ear, pressing his head to hers. Very 2008 of you, Jamie. "What'd you say this was again?" He's always been adventurous with his music taste, willing to listen to just about anything that his friends put on in the gym or the car or at parties. He's never complained about music in his 25 years before, and he absolutely doesn't plan on starting now.

Éowyn stopped, staring for a long moment at the woman—or more specifically, the sweet in her hand that she'd apparently stolen from the VIP Guests' buffet. It took her a moment to realize that this was a player, and players weren't meant to enter the VIP box and enjoy their buffet, which seemed a bit silly to her, if anybody asked.

"Please, by all means—" Éowyn moved to the table herself, quick to pour a cup of tea and offer it to the other. "You worked hard out there today. I think you deserve it."

I didn’t mean to --  “ it’s a ramble of words that erupt from her throat and like they can’t escape fast enough , getting caught and tangled together when they try to leave her mouth . She’s still trying to get the hang of getting herself back into society , to socialize with people was so much easier back then , but now , it was the worst thing in the world , people made it look so easy. She’s extremely round shouldered , standing a smidgen taller above the other but hunching forward , her posture making her look smaller than she actually was.

"No, y'can be, you've just gotta earn your spot as my..." Jamie pauses, trying to find the word that was right. "Partner? Do partners make slideshows about how shit United is together?" He laughs, too, though - he's just taking the piss, even if he absolutely still thinks he's the fittest Mancunian at Richmond.

He laughed at her words, shaking his head. "The lasses on the team who already fucking love me?" he teased - not all of them loved him, he knew that. He also knew his own reputation from years ago and the way it could stick with him. Womanizing, prickish asshole - someone who cared more about himself than the people he slept with... he had cheated on Amy with Denise by having jacuzzi sex, after all. At least he knew he had Tanya's support, if no one else's, and he was seemingly winning Penny Power over. Jamie expected her to be the toughest one to pull to his side, given her prick of a brother, but he's making her laugh, and smile, and it feels pretty fucking successful to him.

He just has to hope that he'll win most of them - if not all of them - over eventually. He's changed a lot since his Man City days, and just as much since his Lust Conquers All days. Jamie just has an ego that'll never die [ even if it is significantly smaller now than it was three years prior ] and the self-esteem to know his worth and not accept any less. He hasn't had a random hookup in years. The tabloids publish anything they can find about him because he's stopped giving them things to publish. "It's a new era of Jamie fucking Tartt, kid - tough to believe I'm a twat when I'm this fucking good at being kind to other people," he jokes, taking another sip of his drink. "Twat wouldn't've bought your food for you, would he?"

ㅤ“ Mate, I can't be being the second fittest Mancunian at Richmond and your assistant. You're properly underselling me. ” She says this like she has a problem with him, and then can't keep the straight face, and laughs.

ㅤAlright. She's decided. Jamie Tartt is a wanker but the good kind. He's the guy who hypes himself - maybe a little too much on occasion, though she's not exactly one to talk - and probably believes it. The sort of guy you could easily hate if you got off on the wrong foot. Except they didn't: Jamie introduced himself to her by trying to welcome her into Richmond and to help her settle in, if she needed. Which evidently she does or they'd not be here right now.

ㅤShe can see fragments of the guy Tom warned her about, of the guy who left Man City to go take part on a stupid fucking reality show, but she's not sure he's all here anymore. He's had plenty of time to say something to make her think otherwise, right?

oops made a t.ed l.asso/wfc r.ichmond oc. her name's ruby and she's an australian goalkeeper, joining the inaugural team in the number 1 shirt/starting lineup, and also plays for aus (though she doesn't really care abt international rivalries outside the stadium and HAS shown her r.ichmond mates round her country). holds the record for the most goals scored by a female goalkeeper in football, up there with the top men who've done the same, including doing it for richmond. she's a little nerd who loves the london museums and has far too many plants in her tiny london flat.

oh and thanks to @allroundher the chant the richmond fans give her is literally just the chorus of ruby by the k.aiser c.hiefs

2. Who was your first muse?

It was indeed, the one and the only Miranda Lawson of Mass Effect! I was first introduced into the ME RPC by @allroundher in January 2013, and I started with my favourite with the (joke) URL @hexagonass (that blog has since been remade, but if you want the OG: @hexagonass-archive !). There are a lot of memories from that time, and how different the RPC was! But she's still my one true character that I adore and will likely write forever! (and @mindsmade and I still write Miranda/Shepard too ((Though I am slower than molasses, but even so, we persist because we love them!))).

"Yeah, it's peaceful, innit?" Jamie asks, his hands folded between them. He's led them to the very top row of the stands of the Dogtrack, looking down at the quiet pitch. It won't be quiet in the morning, when Richmond hosts City for the first time since their treble win, but, for now, Jamie lets himself relax in the temporary peace and quiet of his second home. "I never had this, as a kid. The experience of watching a match from all the way up here, I mean. Especially not before I started playing. But... tomorrow... there'll prolly be a little lad in blue and red and yellow, sitting right 'round here, with the money he's saved up from doin' the dishes or... or however kids get money, I don't know, and he's going to have the time of his fucking life. And I'm gonna be way down there," he points a finger, "and I'm gonna be thinking about that little boy, and... maybe his dreams of bein' a Greyhound someday." He digs his toes into the ground in front of his chair. "I play for 'em. The little boys with dreams. They're what motivate me. And... fuck, Power, I wanna win for 'em. I really do."

Jamie had to force himself to keep a polite smile on his face. This shit kept happening to him. City - Tom Power. Fucking England, Tom Power. And now, he's face to face with another Power sharing a team with him, a building. And he has to be kind. Because it's fucking good to be kind. Because Jamie would've given just about anything for Tom Power to have been kind to him when he first got his call up for City's first team. "Penny Power," he greets, standing in front of the women's side's dressing room, not about to cross the threshold and go inside, not without knowing who was inside [ and how dressed they were - something about boundaries ]. "Jamie Tartt, welcome to Richmond. We're lucky to have you."
