Hullo, one of my friends has recently been diagnosed with POTS. I am wondering if you are willing to share ways I can make their life easier / just help them in general.

Hi there, i do not have POTS so i cannot really speak on it but my friend @ididit-allofit-foryou has it. From what I've learned from them and other people I've met with it stuff like compression socks help, i think they help keep the blood from all flowing to the feet which could cause lightheadedness. People with POTS also need to sit/lay down a lot, so i would be mindful of where you hangout with your friend, make sure they have a way to sit down quickly and easily. Im pretty sure good hydration helps too. Try to avoid situations where they could overheat because it can cause fainting. And i might be wrong but i think salty foods are good for them? Anyways hopefully what i said is at least kinda right, if my friend responds he will know more about it.

loving loving loving ATWMD, when I start my working week, the thought that it's coming keeps me going! Also, I feel like, Sure, Yeah, Remu is justifying his actions regarding Sirius by like, lying to himself - but is Sirius also lying to himself for his reasons to stay with the order. Not that I doubt the sincerity with which he wishes to protect his younger brother but, like, I think maybe he can't admit there may be other reasons - like that he does not believe in what Voldemort is or what he does and that he wants to fight against it - because he is supposed to be a willing supporter and is so used to *not* thinking those things; aware that not even his thoughts are safe. So, like, protecting his younger brother is something he will, and has always tried to do, so that's *safe*. That's the only thing he's grasping to to justify his actions because admitting to anything else is so much scarier and requires self work and reflection and my guy aint there yet. Anyway idk you are the one writing it (and I am So Grateful you do) so maybe you have different thoughts but I am sooooooo wrapped up in this and all the characters and all of it allofit its So Good

as for sirius. i guess where my mind is while writing him atm is that like. he is not so much actively in denial as he is just....an absolutely confused tangle of thoughts and feelings. he never liked voldemort or being a death eater (though there were certainly a lot of underlying parts of that society that he accepted + internalized without question) so he's always had his conscience eating at him, and working with the order helps soothes his conscience for the first time. like, what he's doing with them feels good, and part of him wants to continue doing it. at the same time he still thinks they're kinda crazy and what they're doing is hopeless and he still feels as though there's parts of his old way of life that could be preserved or aren't as harmful as the order claims; he hasn't fully come around to their worldview yet. and he still is not in a place where he's prepared to sacrifice his life for their cause, and he's especially not willing to sacrifice his brother's life for their cause.

so like. yeah he is definitely most focused on protecting reggie partially because that's what he's always known, but also partially because it's genuinely what's most important to him right now. his feelings about the order + voldemort etc are changing, but he's not at a place yet where he has some deep-rooted conviction that the order is 100% wrong and voldemort is 100% right that he needs to deny, if that makes sense
