I almost started crying thinking about Quantum Leap because the intimacy of it. Sam is leaping nonstop without control and his only tie to his own time and life is Al, who is desperately trying to help him and give him answers in a world where the answers change constantly or there’s simply no answers at all. And neither of them can rest or know when this will end. And truly the only company Sam has on this journey, the only tie to his actual life, is Al. The grief and vulnerability of it. The fear. The show plays it up for the camp but when you really think about what’s happening… it fucks you up.
