I always saw this quote ''trauma it's your fault but it's your responsibility to heal '' used to blame victims of male violence, especially in the militant/new generations. It goes usually with this bs ''if you don't work on healing you're just a an abuser and a predator exactly like men are ''. But it's the same rhetoric and literally same sentence that ''if you don't report/press charge on this abuser, you're just a an abuser and a predator exactly like men are. And if they abuse someone else, this on you not on them. '' and they usually goes hand in hand. Like every time I've seen someone said/wrote one, they always have already said the other one too. And it's always said in response to a woman testifying/open up on her abuse.
It goes hand in hands with this one too ''you're an abuser to share your abuse like that. You're literally traumatising and abusing everyone who is going to read you. You're not a feminist/victim you're just like any man. You should be ashamed of yourself and fix it before damaging every woman that you speak to. This is just trauma dumping and this is very wrong, this is an abuser tactic. ''
Until now, I was too emotional/triggered to think about that in an analysis process because I have a lot of cptsd from those types of response when I tried to talk about some of my abuse. And it deeply traumatized me to the point where I'm now unable to open up about any of my abuse except if the subject is already opened up. Even in therapy btw, because I'm deeply convinced that if I do I'm going to abuse my therapist.
To the point where I'm wondering if all three are not actually the same thing or part of the same thing. Maybe that thing has a name, but I can't find it. If you do, please, I would gladly know it!
I think that this is victim blaming but in a very specific manner, that seems to be different than the one usually spread, and maybe silencing victims voice but I don't know it feels like I'm missing something ? I thought about DARVO ? But darvo is used by an abuser on his victims not from an external source, right? Or maybe I don't know enough about it.
I received this type of comments/abuse from younger and my own generation (90s), never from an older one. And I mostly received this in space made for speaking out your abuse, like Call for testimonies for this or that violence, in every single ''feminist'' space ivl as irl.
Even now, here, I'm not comfortable with writing this down because I was always also assaulted when I was calling out this type of behaviour so it's very sensitive for me. It's been half an hour since I'm spiraling into anxiety to post or to delete everything. I know I shouldn't feel that way. I know that this is wrong. I'm wrong I know. But it's eating me from the inside. Why ? Why am I struggling like this, usually I don't, I don't even care of what people might think of what I wrote. But here I'm just freezing because I know, statically, it's absolutely certain that I'm going to be assaulted and abused if I click on the reblog button and I don't want to be assaulted or abused. So the only way to be sure I won't is to not post this. I hate myself for just such pity like I feel like I'm exactly what they refer to when they talk about victim personality that self pity etc. Oh fuck off Anna and post it anyway!
crazy how trauma isn't your fault but it's your responsibility to heal.

being alive at the time i gleaned some general elements abt encanto but never actually heard we don't talk about bruno beyond awareness it existed popping off & i think i heard like the title recited off key off rhythm but in a way that indicates speak singing nonetheless lol so upon experiencing it it's like oh but it's the Verses? while the last refrain goes harder but prior to that it's comparatively underwhelming to said verses which feels appropriate like verses / pieces of a larger picture & that a "we don't talk about him" as a disappointing Lid on infinitely richer more characterful & dynamic "but: talking about him" instances. like well personally it'd be like um seven foot frame....anyway besides being able to firsthand go like oh damn Real (the kind of thing you know exists if alive at the time) it's like alright hang on lol. one thing when a core theme is yeah like "is it a refuge if 'especial' vulnerability ultimately gets pushed out rather than made safer" subset like the parties whose even observation of truths (problems) & drawing attention to them is seen as Ruining Things, like if you're painted as Making futures that aren't simply what's desired or reassuring rather than a guidance via just observing & sharing the truth. but then it's like whaddaya mean living in fear of bruno stuttering and stumbling you could always hear him sort of muttering and mumbling lmao like now that's just Association between the Truth Perceiving & Telling behavior & behavior that's just apparently distinctive of the same person. & like Not Accidentally when [what if people were magic] specifics are obviously primarily abt a metaphorical meaning & like, indeed it was made clear like oh this situation isn't Just b/c [boo we hate your prophecies] & that [an Ability that isn't directed towards what anyone Wants / is "weird" even by these magic standards] isn't Coincidentally given to someone who just so happens to already be "weird" in other ways & be set up to have a different perspective & be pushed away due to having the supposed "extra" vulnerability of unmet needs / insufficient support, same as someone who doesn't "correctly" have any kind of magic ability....like yeah banger and also like Oh Yeah Kind Of Devastating re: that metaphorical resonance allowing for like [set the metaphor aside] now hang on with this about this disabled family member lol. misinterpretation to The Ruinerrr / The Problemmm / The Maliciousss etc (i.e. the scapegoatinggg) despite their efforts likely entirely to the contrary. then despite like, efforts aside, Just Existing, always kind of muttering & mumbling like & what of it. & then like oh sorry weird pets. weird [auspicious for adaptable tenacious thriving surviving; either way simply creatures, existing] pets.
truly like As Is The Idea I'm Sure quickly becomes like hands behind back standing at the window Uh Oh Sisters musing on all the [disabled person] metaphorical & already literal elements there. blair witching it in contemplation like We've All Been There whether being so resented for the mere disruption of "existing in a group as the 'abnormal' odd one out" or like people talking shit abt anything associated w/you as soon as you've left the room, which is also made relevant like, this wasn't Only directed at this person when seemingly permanently gone, nor were they unaware / unaffected prior....pacing in the Musing parlor like things don't Have to be compared to billions but i only ever even see so many things & it's like billions sure is like "get scapegoated rword" & then said scapegoating is presented as only beneficial & we hate autists & even beyond that it's like, grabbing billions, Imagine If Things Meant To Be About Something Were About Something. quite a contrast when they are & furthermore like, deliberate thought & Care for [who gets scapegoated & why] & the truth of like, people getting pushed aside & out who have a key perspective & are primed / liable to come through for others similarly vulnerable & the supposedly Ruinous, Problems Generating disruptiveness is actually the strongest effort to make essential changes to a group. & come through with like, it'd be undermining thee point if it was "reassuring" us like oh haha people will be supportive b/c bruno will be more normal, so great that it Didn't like no, no Normality Reassurance(tm), presence of abnormalities(tm), Good, & everyone Can Deal b/c if you don't then it's pushing this person away, is exactly what happens, including even if they're still Around but are being mistreated b/c that is entirely part of that pushing away like anyone's victim blaming is ready to pounce at any time but if someone can't stand to stay / leaves b/c they can't see another option like that's not out of nowhere nor Regardless of what full support & flexibility they were getting lol. these Active Measures everyone loves so much, which are everywhere always & would include Staying & Trying To Make It Work & those efforts would be "disruptive" & resented & Bringing It On Oneself & etccc smh
that is to all say like. Woww when clearly basically the core thread was these beats of like, the crucial site of [thee scapegoated], & why that comes down on someone & how that plays out. endless ideas about how someone weird(tm) & disabled (&/or queer. but there's no Or here lol. & again like it's a Context like, to even be the one person without kids? likely not living up to "full" correct sexuality in that way alone; any oppression's logics of "inferiority" being logics of ableism, ready examples being that "inferior" race, gender, sexuality (& their experiences as people classed as inferior) all being pathologized as disordered) are seen & treated as someone Ruining Things & who cannot belong like whew. bracing. winding. which, i also recall like i was watching with headphones & during this one dialogue pause i was like "?? what's this Extra Sound i heard there" & had to go over it like twice before being hit upside the head like well it Was still the dialogue pause but it was also bruno Stuttering in a very quiet whisper for the duration of that pause before continuing like iiiiiiii x_x
#[sitting waiting right here] for billions to have its vulnerable weird scapegoated misfit outcasts actually band together lmao....#like Sure Doesn't b/c billions is like we all hate weirdos & we all love telling them to shut tf up & go away to die or w/e. correctly#can't believe ultimately the Different fund disappears w/o its scapegoat & the Correct ''weird'' char is full axe cap mode finally#& it's sure not a Comment when billions affectionately gives them their free heavenly reward & Ensure zero scapegoating consequences#the [imagine if something about something was about something] approach to Banished Relatives being thoughtful & loving like#& here you see how even As they're banished everything isn't Really fixed for it incl. that people aren't Really just happy he's gone#billions is like no we killed him And everyone has gladly & legitimately forgotten he exists (save the instant it's time to use him)#the hilarious(tm) tragedies surrounding rian like billions' can't make her ''care'' abt winston be anything save more violence#can't pretend rian was anything more than [again we all Know your nads like w/taylor like w/winston] bagina + dialogue source combo in s6#when it's still dimly relevant for prince in s7 but you miss Nothing re: rian if you have no idea that plotline exists#& speaking of actual ''weirdness'' rian was never allowed to have: the tragedy of the tension of Closeted Transness present on screen fr#just as billions has no idea / further willingness to let rian be so ''weird'' as to actually care abt winston or abt not being a bully Lol#meanwhile i figured like oh i'll like a scapegoat. did know ahead of time like bruno's just some guy; not even ''redeemable'' antagonist#but In Practice & w/all that beloved Disabledness & crucial appreciation like you Need this guy; the understanding is Key#like well ofc i would kill for him. ofc just constant like mhm go off king slay fire etc. god tier character cherished forever thanks#but then also like im sure a zillion [intention; inspiration; thoughts] going into Tfw Family Things characters; a zillion interpretions &#thoughts to follow like it truly is Arresting like this clarity on A Disabled Person In The Group like. much much to consider & whew.#reference point like when autistic ppl in some job see an obvious [problem to future mess] pipeline; so you know bruno madrigal. My Vision#When You're So Hated like hey i wanna live unseen w/my so hated little friends lol. just reread how to disappear completely never be found#when it's like grabbing people Who Cares if someone's being ''obviously'' disabled or weird just as how they are existing godddd#people get so mean like Who Cares just talk to them; be around them. some effort some mind your own business some You're Not Above Them#when it's obviously You like yeah. nonzero but limited applicability like [specifically my own nuclear family] but re: Weird; Disabled#as ever i'll Relate & be like but i probably seem nothing like that. or maybe i am very much like that. kind of difficult to tell b/c like#you Do get the disinterest lol & feedback is Not that familiar / in depth even if positive like well. the emergent So Hated / Scapegoating#noting like if a character just seems refreshingly familiar; Understood; comfortable; fun; what's the odds they're cishet allistic lol....#anyway the epiphany like oh it was figurative blink & you miss it stuttering....did [waiiit] Pace that one off like inhaaale Waugh#in fact i'm sure the Verbalizing Effort has staved off the kind of [thinks about all of it a moment] to go Aauughhh about again#which; again; also something happening 5 yrs in re: the clairvoyant soothsayer autistic neuroqueer quant on the show w/No Thoughts abt it#ppl being invalidated by others having to validate themselves (& others in the same boat); billions going & How We Hate Them For It lol#oh & encanto's [excluded party's effort to partake] tragedy vs billions' [where's winston in this office? this event?] good riddance idc

We are appalled, but unsurprised to see the House pass H.J. Res. 165.
If the resolution becomes law it would overturn the Department of Education’s Title IX Rule to strengthen protections against sex-based discrimination, harassment, and abuse in federally funded schools. This resolution is part of a continued pattern of attacks against LGBTQ+ people’s right to exist. The House has voted on 60+ anti-LGBTQ+ bills this session. The resolution is also an attack on survivors of sexual assault and harassment and pregnant and parenting students. Without this rule, federally funded schools can continue to turn a blind eye toward sex-based discrimination and sexual assault.
ASAN signed on to a letter of 110+ LGBTQ+, women’s, civil, and human rights organizations that urged members of Congress to vote against this resolution. The Title IX rule is very important to ASAN and the autistic community. Autistic people are more likely to be LGBTQ+ than allistic people and more likely to have our trans identity dismissed or disbelieved. Disabled LGBTQ+ students are also more likely to be bullied and harassed. Autistic people are also three times more likely than the general population to experience sexual violence. We are often denied access to quality sex education. The worst harassment and abuse is directed toward autistic people with intellectual disabilities.
We urge the Senate to oppose S.J. Res 96 which, if passed, would follow in the House’s footsteps. If this resolution became law, it would also prevent the Department of Education from producing any substantially similar regulations in the future. The White House has promised to veto the resolutions if either reach his desk. We urge the President to keep that promise. You can read more about this resolution in a statement from National Women's Law Center.

Dogday has Autism and ADHD!
Because of his big ol ears, he has bad sensory issues with specific sounds, especially since he can hear so well. Because of that, he carries around headphones with him everywhere, so if you see him sitting somewhere with them on, he is overwhelmed, do not bother him!!
He glows in the dark like a nightlight, but his pendant glows constantly.
When he stims, he does so with tail wagging, hand flapping, and leg stomps/shakes.
he howls at the sun instead of the moon!
He is TERRIFIED of sunflowers. they stare back, he swears they do.
he finds pop rock candy very fascinating! it's his favorite candy.
he likes basking in the sun! and though he may be busy with something almost all the time, he always has an eye out, and is always keeping his friends safe, no matter what!
He 100% puts others before himself, no doubt.
he also has bad memory. not HORRIFICALLY bad, but its not very good either.
his body temperature is warmer than everybody elses, meaning he overheats easily. In contrast to what most would think, he likes cold weather more than summer weather.

Heyaa mod Duck here again 😼
This blog is almost COMPLETELY based on headcanons besides the info given on the official character card ☝️so please respect that I cannot be canon adjacent
Allister is liiike.. 15-16 I would say ☝️
Allister Gator is the slacker of the Nightmare Critters. He possesses a laid-back attitude and is often coerced by his friends to participate in activities, but he lacks drive and ambition. If given the chance, he would happily loaf off in a body of water and do nothing productive for a full 24 hours. He is a firm and devout believer of the philosophy: "Good things come to those who wait". The only time Allister puts effort into something is if his friends actively force him to.

headcanons under the cut:
The other critters sometimes call him Alli as a nickname
His favorite cartoon show is the wildkratts,, he would 100% just float on his back in the water with an IPad and just binge all of it
I cannot imagine him with a girl so. gay🫵 Allister Gator? more like Allister Gaytor
very protective of his fellow nightmare critters. The smiling critters on the other hand, he couldn't give less a shit about.
Nature enjoyer
ADHD
Actually just a chill guy but he can be an asshole when he wants to be
He hoards random junk and throws it into his pond for enrichment
he can and WILL beat your ass at ANY videogame
quite naturally strong (as a Gator character probably would be) he just doesn't show it off
He is narcoleptic, meaning he is constantly very tired throughout the day no matter how much rest he's gotten
The scent of sandalwood is used traditionally to relieve stress and anxiety, so I like to think the other nightmare critters like to hang out with him when they're stressed
[list will be updated as I come up with more]

The assertion that the trans ideology is transing gay kids into straight kids requires that the trans youth was "homosexual" prior to transitioning... but plenty of trans youth also "become homosexual" through transitioning. It goes both ways. Also, bi/pan people exist, and transitioning does not make them straight or gay. So where do terfs get the idea that transitioning is conversion therapy, you might be wondering?
Well, they see gender non-conforming kids and assume they are gay. And then assume that transitioning makes them straight. Lets be real. This is just homophobic stereotyping repackaged to look progressive. A male kid playing in mommys pumps does not a homo make. If TERFs want to end homophobia so bad, they need to STOP conflating gender non-conformity with homosexuality.
I want to clear up any misconceptions about what conversion therapy actually looks like. We need only look at the book written by one of the founders of conversion therapy "A Parents Guide To Preventing Homosexuality." In his book, Nicolosi claims that children who act like or claim to be another gender, are what he calls "Pre-homosexuals." As another user described in the notes: pre-homosexuals is to homosexuals is to transexuals what Pichu is To Pikachu is to Richyu.
To be clear "Pre-homosexual" just means homosexual. Nicolosi just doesn't believe that being gay is a part of who you are. Kids have not grown into sexually active adults, so they can't be homosexual yet.
homosexuality is an act, not an identity.
This book even has a convenient list of signs your child is a "pre-homosexual"
-"repeated desire to be or insistence that he or she is the other sex"
-"In boys, a preference for cross dressing, or simulating female attire. In girls, insistence on wearing only stereotypically masculine clothing."
-"Strong and persistent preference for cross sexual roles in make-believe play, or persistent fantasies of being the other sex."
-"Intense desire to participate in the stereotypical games and pastimes of the other sex"
-"Strong preference for playmates of the other sex."
Now wait a goddamn minute! That sounds a lot more like a gender non-conforming or trans kid than a gay kid. Attraction to the same sex isn't even mentioned once. Even though that's the entire definition of a homosexual! A pre-homosexual has no attraction at all.
Thats because, in the eyes of homophobes, who you are attracted to doesn't you a homosexual.
Your gender performance does.
If that's causing dissonance with what you thought to be true about conversion therapy, I experienced the same thing. But this book almost exclusively focuses on gender incongruence.
"Gender confusion is at the heart of the homosexual issue. It is through our maleness or femaleness that we grow to maturity."
If you are wondering what the difference between gay conversion therapy and trans conversion therapy is... there isn't. The intended targets are different (sometimes) but they're the same practice, and work the same way, by pushing your child back into their assigned place on a rigid gender binary. The path to "preventing Homosexuality" is to correct any incongruence between gender and sex.
Conversion therapists do not care about the different between a trans man, a butch lesbian, an ftnb nonbinary person, and a straight tomboy. We're all functionally the same thing in their eyes. Anyone who wants to convert trans kids is not your ally.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yup TERFs are just evil. If they actually cared they would ban conversion theraphy and focus on pschology. By medical legal law you can’t push a gender ideantity on a person. Disgusting.
What gets me about this is they say conversion therapy is fundamentally different for trans people yet never say how or why. Because in reality it isn’t. It’s the exact same horrible methods with the exact same end result in mind; a seemingly cishet, gender conforming individual.
And you cannot fully ban lgb therapy without banning it for the t as well. That’s the point trans people are making. Girls were put in camps simply for wanting short hair out of fear they were a lesbian and that shit is still going to happen. It will just be the excuse of “well I’m worried she will be trans!” now.
But gnc people are a fine sacrifice as long as it hurts trans people, right?

"Hi...! I'm CraftyCorn! Wanna help me with my painting? :)"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Last Edit: January 3rd (Removed some details, edited a bit)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
[Hello there! I'm Mod Tune! Pleasure to meet you all! I'll be running this blog to go with the other Smiling Critters!! Just know, this character is not mine and belongs to the creators of Poppy Playtime!! All art comes from there, too, but I will be making my own as well as fanart and reaction images!!]
[This ask blog currently consists of both Craftycorn and Bigger Craftycorn, as well as BB Crafty's mini critters! So go ahead and shoot any of them some asks! Crafty has her own tags while both BB Crafty and the mini critters share some tags. All of my designs for the characters here are all underneath the cut at the end of the main things on this post, so check those out!]
[This blog will include topics such as depression, loss of sanity, swearing (mostly from mod), harmful thoughts, some acts of violence, and few other topics I cannot name at the time. Interact at your own risk, you have been warned]
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
RULES OF THE BLOG!
1. No inappropriate asks! This is a PG-13 blog!
2. Some violent asks are okay, like basic acts to harm her, but please just do not go overboard with them. As in, do not graphically explain them or have it result in missing limbs. It hurts to read.
3. Ask me before involving me in anything! I've been having issues with this for a few days now, and I need to finally bring it up.
4. No forced roleplaying! Aka, don't narrate my characters for me! Please! I've had one or two asks/reblogs like this, and it really doesn't make me motivated to answer them! Roleplaying characters means I play my characters, and you play yours, don't decide what my characters do for me.
5. Don't spam my inbox/notes often. I have a life outside of this blog, so if I don't answer asks or reblogs, I need you to be patient with me.
6. Do not judge me for my headcanons, roleplay threads, or what friends I have here. It's a very cruel thing to judge, and I'd rather you not.
7. Please, don't steal/repost my art. It may not be much compared to other artists, but I'd like my art to stay my own. Please and thank you.
8. Magic anons are okay!! You're allowed to send them as long as I can understand them and they make sense for the Poppy Playtime universe
My only criticism of TME/TMA is that the use of the word "affected" is the primary source of semantics based arguments against the terminology. It allows people to frame TMA as "somebody who has had transmisogyny happen to them once" instead of "someone who is at constant risk interacting with transmisoginistic society and has to consider this in every social interaction"
You know? The classic "bigots don't care about your pronouns" argument. The idea that if someone is transmisogynisticly harassing you they are likely to be every other type of bigot under the sun (which isn't true. Just look at the transmisogyny in the queer community) so they won't care that you aren't trans and beat you up anyway (which makes me disbelieve that they are even speaking from personal experience because from someone who faces that harassment daily, the goal often not to engage you with violence but to intimidate you into feeling like going outside is unsafe).
Like even taking them at their word that they HAVE had an experience with transmisoginistic harassment, they are still speaking from an individual experience and do not have to consider wider societal transmisogyny outside of the lens of potential being mistargeted by it. They are using the grammatical definition of affected to go "I was individually affected by this mistargeted transmisogyny so therefore I'm transmisogyny affected " which is why I'm calling it semantics.
The types of people who make these arguments are the cheekiest motherfuckers and are often treating it as a "gatcha" argument. They aren't arguing in good faith. Which is why I doubt that they are even speaking from personal experience and not just using "maga Mikey from some southern state that I definitely don't have classist views about" as the reason transmisogyny affects everyone equally.
It also allows for the pickme argument that is often just the acception that proves the rule. I'm talking about the "Well IM a trans woman and IVE never been affected by transmisogyny so really it's a useless term because it doesn't describe all trans women". This argument is using the fact that this individual trans woman has YET to experience a personal Hot Allistic Load treatment that she has not been affected by transmisogyny. This ignores how much she has had to curate herself and make herself as presentable as possible to transmisoginistic society to avoid this treatment. They do not live in magical fairy Christmas land where transmisogyny simply doesn't exist and isn't something they have to worry about.
In short I think the specific definition of the word "affected" allows those approaching in bad faith to conflate a lived reality to an individual experience.
devon price did a twitter thread about how ~a study showed~ that allistic people are more, not less, likely to respond to autistic behaviors with kindness, sympathy, and social inclusion, if they're informed the person displaying them is autistic
the way he interpreted this study was that allistics find autistic behavior subconsciously threatening, but once given an explanation for it, that perceived threat vanishes because it is now "explained"
my main problem: this study was conducted via self-reporting, in an isolated context where they showed participants photos of strangers and prompted them to make judgements about those strangers. there is a social stigma against openly admitting you find autistics untrustworthy, disturbing, or creepy, even among people who are extremely ableist--the violence is typically carried out in much subtler ways, and justified via much subtler and more specific pieces of evidence, i.e. "he's just too sexual all the time, his hair is always greasy, he's too loud," etc. this evidence is often directly related to someone being autistic, but this is usually not acknowledged even if pointed out directly.
this is intertwined with the second prong of my criticism, which is that most social violence against autistics takes place in long-term relationships, and is rooted in deeply engrained disdain & prejudice for autistic patterns of behavior that are only evident in a long-term context. again: he doesn't wash his hair, he's loud and starts speaking when other people are talking all the time, he keeps talking about sex even though no-one makes eye contact with him when he does that, ergo, he must be a sexual predator. a conclusion i have seen many, many a social scene come to about the openly-disclosed autistic people within it, followed by depersoning and ostracizing the autistics & often going so far as to use violent tactics (following them to "warn" potential new social contacts about them, contacting employers to get them fired and "warning" potential employers, utilizing callout posts and pedojacketing, etc).
at best, the study could be used as evidence that "strangers who make snap judgements about autistic people can be convinced to back down from those judgements by diagnosis disclosure." however, he was using this as a piece of evidence to directly encourage people to unmask, because the worries about facing social violence for unmasking are apparently ~overblown~, which is why this particular thread stuck in my craw so much--you are massively misinterpreting a piece of data in a way that endangers people who don't understand what's going on under the surface, buddy. which a lot of autistic people don't because we are, famously, often not very good at reading between the lines of social interactions.
i know about this thread because i stumbled across it organically while browsing twitter a few weeks back and it really grated on me, i don't think it went Viral or anything, so i'm actually having trouble locating it again lol
Ruben Dias/Trent Alexander Arnold x Reader - Dark Rivarly Part 9/15
⚠️WARNING⚠️
*Violence
Part 10 and 11 are already out on my Patreon!
Tumblr media
Reader is Trent Alexander Arnold's twin sister. The two have been inseparable since childbirth, more so now when Reader is fresh out of university looking for a job, crashing at her brother's place whilst doing so. One day Reader gets a job offer that she cannot refuse, however it would mean working for her brother's biggest rival in football, Ruben Dias.
Enjoy!
Man City vs Liverpool. It was a disaster bound to happen. Perhaps the exact reason why Jennifer begged to tag along as you and your family gathered for a spectacular afternoon at the Etihad Stadium. The atmosphere was unmatched, the crowd giddy for what's to come. You however, couldn't stop biting your nails in agony.
"Doesn't Ruben want you sitting near his bench, why are you on Liverpool's side of the stands?"
"Because..." You said, gritting your teeth for Jenny to keep her voice down. "Only you and grandma know I'm dating Ruben."
"You seriously haven't told your parents yet? Trent I understand, but don't you think the rest of your family would be more accepting?"
"No." Was your answer. Your grandma seemed to have come to terms with the situation, but only because she had seen first hand how much you cared about Ruben and he you. He would usually drop you off at the apartment after work and was not afraid to greet grandma at the door. He would greet her with a smile on his face and fondly ask about how her day went and if business at the shop was going good. It was not an act to win her over, grandma would've seen right through that. Ruben was just genuinely a polite person who was raised right by his parents. However, you strongly believed that despite how well raised he was, it would be hard for your parents to look past the fact that Ruben played for Manchester City, the team that had robbed them of so much joy.
"I dunno?" Jenny said, after hearing you out. "That altercation between your brother and Ruben was a long time ago, don't you think they're over it by now? If I were Trent I would be, how else is he gonna be able to focus on today's game if he still got his head wrapped around what's happened in past games?"
"Trust me." You said. "If there is something my brother can do, it's to hold a grudge."
You sat back in your seats as the Liverpool crowd, including your parents, started singing. The game was about to begin.
Despite having the majority of the crowd on their side, Man City struggled to control the game. Liverpool was fighting back with their supporters chanting them on.
"We are the Scousers
The cocks of the north!"
"We hate Man United
And City of course!"
"We only drink whiskey
And bottles of brown
The Liverpool boys
Are in town!"
"Na na na na na na na na!"
"What's wrong sweetheart, why aren't you singing along?" Your mother nudged your shoulder, seeing as you were biting your nails rather than singing along with the crowd.
"Yeah, Y/N why aren't you singing along?" Jenny smiled.
You threw her an evil glance. The lump in your stomach grew heavy as you turned your attention back to the game. Ruben looked furious. It was a bad game for him. Liverpool had managed to get two goals past his defense. The worst part was that one of those goals had been done by Trent, who was now getting cocky with the support from the crowd.
"Here he goes, here he goes!" Your dad alerted.
It was another corner shot from Liverpool, taken by Mac Allister. The ball flew past all the city players' heads, landing right on top of Virgil van Dijk's, who butted the ball to the ground for Trent's foot to tap it into the goal.
"3-0!"
The Liverpool crowd were on their feet, celebrating like maniacs. The game ended with the standing result as the referee blew his whistle.
"What a game! Let's celebrate." Your dad suggested, as your family followed the stream of people leaving the stadium.
"We have to wait for Trent." Your mother said.
"Don't worry bub, he'll meet us at the restaurant. Jenny, you said you knew a place?"
"Sure. I know a place not too far away from the shop."
"Great, let's go!"
Your family and Jenny walked ahead but you were hesitant to leave.
"Y/N, you coming?"
You shook your head. "I...I should stay. Wait for Trent. He might not know the way to the restaurant."
"Suit yourself." Your dad shrugged. "Just don't let him hold you up in the locker room, the guys might take a while."
"I'll be alright." You said,  ignoring the looks that Jenny and Grandma threw your way. You were left standing in the middle of the stadium parking lot, but not the public one, the one close to the gates where fans waited in hopes of spotting their favorite player.
"I'm outside." You texted, not Trent but Ruben. You felt a need to check on him after such a tough game.
"Be there in five." He replied.
And so you waited. And waited.
Fans scattered after having their jerseys signed by City players, they were the first people to leave the building.
"Hey."
There was a light tap on your shoulder. You turned around to see Ruben, looking defeated and exhausted from the game.
"Hey." You smiled. "Tough game?"
"Don't mock me."
You frowned.  "I'm not mocking you."
He sighed, and brought you in for a hug. "I bet your family enjoyed the game though."
"Ruben. " You pulled back to look at him.
"I'm just saying." He shrugged. "It's not like they were cheering for me."
"I was cheering for you."
"Were you?
"Yes Ruben. Believe it or not but I was."
He was grumpy, kicking something invisible on the ground. "Are you coming with me or are you headed somewhere?" He raised his head to look at you.
You sighed. "My family is celebrating at a bar in town."
He snorted. "Of course they are."
You rolled your eyes. "They're here for the weekend, Ruben, what am I supposed to do? And don't make me choose between you and my family because that would be incredibly unfair."
Ruben's shoulders withered, realizing what he was making you do. "I...I'm sorry." His gym bag dropped to the ground as he reached out his arms to you. You stumbled into his warm embrace and stayed there, letting Ruben sway you in his arms. "I never meant to make you choose between me and your family." He spoke against your temple. "Just having you like this is a privilege enough for me."
Your arms wrapped tighter around Ruben's waist. He was yours to keep.
"And you didn't hear this from me...but I guess your brother played a pretty good game."
You gasped, pulling out of the hug. "Was that....a compliment I heard?"
He rolled his eyes.
"Nah ah, don't be shy now Dias, I think you just compliment your fellow rival."
He wiggled out of your grip to hide his smile.
"Are you proving to be the bigger man, is that what this is?"
"The biggest." He nodded. "Bigger than any other man you've been with."
You laughed as he railed you in, attacking your neck with wet kisses.
"Stop it Ruben, it tickles."
He mumbled against your skin. "Not until you admit that I'm the biggest you've ever had."
"Never."
"No?"
"Aaaah, Ruben." You squealed as his arm went under your legs, swooping them up under you as he lifted you up in his arms, twirling you around, bridal style.
"Ruben, please"
"Admit it."
"No, hahahah."
"You fucking....get off her!"
Suddenly you were tackled to the ground,  with Ruben trying his best not to let you hit the concrete before him. Recovering from the initial fall you looked up to see Trent, towering over Ruben with a fuming look on his face.
"Have you lost your mind?" Ruben shouted. "She could have gotten hurt." He shot to his feet, pushing Trent back two steps.
"What are you doing, touching my sister?" Trent pushed back, but didn't have as much impact on Ruben who was bigger.
"Guys, stop it!" You got up from the ground trying to come between them. A big mistake, because as Ruben wrapped a hand around your waist, checking to see if you had hurt yourself from the fall, Trent saw red.
"Trent!"
You screamed as he swung at Ruben, the blow of his fist striking Ruben on the nose, making him bleed. You stepped back as Ruben rushed your brother,  tackling him to the ground, raising himself to tower over him as he delivered equally as bone crushing punches.
"Ruben stop!" Your voice broke, your desperate shouts alerting the people around you, players and staff from both teams, rushing to disrupt the fight.
"Hey, hey, hey!" Ruben's friend John was one of the first people on the scene,  grabbing a hold of Ruben, pulling him off of your brother. It was a horrific scene with medical staff from both teams rushing to check on Trent. It was heartbreaking for you to see him like that, bloody in the face and knocked out on the ground, all in the hands of....
"Y/N?"
You flinched as someone grasped your arm. It was Ruben, who looked terrified at the way you reacted when he touched you. "It's me, don't be..." He reached out again, your eyes darting at his bruised  knuckles. Luckily John was quicker. "Let her go, let her..." He looked at you, seeing the terror in your eyes. "I'll take him home. You stay with your brother."
You nodded. "Okay."
He escorted Ruben across the parking lot, the two of them driving away in the night. Whilst the medical staff alerted for the ambulance to come, you brought your phone to light, dialing Grandma's phone number with trembling hands. She picked up after the second tone.
"Y/N?"
"Grandma?" You sniffled, phone pressed to your ear. "It's all my fault....."
For when your requests open soon kinda like the child breaking in how do you think the collector would rect to like teens using the hotell as a smoke spot or something also jow that im thinking about it he would just kill them since the start of thr collection it starts by saying he kills anyone and doesn’t discriminate personally i say dang but also i hsve no idea i might be making up everything im typing as i go along hoping your like oh wow this fella this extremely homosexual fella is so right!!!! #guess whos drunk game!!!!!£!
How would Asa Emory react to teens breaking into the hotel to smoke?
I absolutely love this request lmao, from one homo to another u r absolutely so right. I hope u had a good night pookie < 3
Tw for violence and gore
The acrid ashy smell was a dead giveaway before he’d even stepped into the hotel. Teenagers using his hotel as a smoke spot, hadn’t they seen literally any trashy slasher movie? This was a perfect setup to get murdered by a hulking masked man with an axe or whatever the kids were watching these days.
It’s not like he could completely blame them, him having been a teenager once and not above bumming a smoke off other students when the stress got the best off him.
Groaning and dragging a gloved hand down his face, Asa enters the building, pulling the door with more force than necessary and effectively slamming it into the wall in annoyance. It’s not like it was worth being stealthy, these little fucks will be dead soon enough, not like it’s going to matter in the end.
Two hounds sit either side of the collector at his monitor, Allister on the left and Aster on the right, waiting at attention for orders but mostly soaking up the absent minded pats Asa has been giving them whilst focused on the screen.
A group of teenagers, maybe about college age, sit slumped against the filthy walls of the abandoned hotel room smoking, what, he’s not sure, but that’s not relevant. smashed beer bottles litter the floor, glittering under the barley there fluorescent lights.
Disgusting, spilling all that shit over his floors, don’t they know he has art pieces in here that are priceless? Not like they would understand the work that goes behind his beautiful collection.
A pissed off groan escapes Asa’s gritted teeth, the dog’s ears perking at this, shifting to sit slightly more alert. Asa looks down to his pups, tilting his head in thought. He has a good view of the room from here, he may be able to put on a show for himself in the future before finishing them off. Setting the camera’s to ‘record’ he stands, scraping his chair backwards.
Pulling the mask taught by the strings and tying himself in he double checks his hunting knife is where he left it and sets off. Aster and Allister follow happily down the halls, just happy to be included and by their masters side.
The door is slammed open before any of the teens can react, dogs ordered to dispose of the intruders with a shout and hand signal, realistically no matter how well trained his pets are they wouldn’t be able to take down 4 teenagers by themselves. knowing this Asa pulls his knife from his belt, the teens paying no attention to him, solely focused in attempting to either kick the dogs snouts away and detach the muscle deep bite they have lodged into them off or trying to tear the hounds off their screaming and struggling friends.
Grabbing one of the men by the throat the collector slams the stranger against the wall, knife raised at his jugular with intend to slash.
“Y-you don’t have to do this man, we’ll leave ok? We’ll even clean up, fuck just..just let us go and we won’t say shit I promise”
the fear is evident all over this kids face, the desperation gives Asa a sick kick, feelings of superiority and giddiness bubbling up in his chest. the masked man adds more pressure to the knife, enough to break skin and allow a few dribbles of crimson to run down the knife, watching the panic increase ten fold.
Apart from letting out an undignified squeak the teen stops reacting, bracing for the end. How dull. Realising his toy has stopped performing he rips the blade across the soft flesh under him, making it messy and careless. The gasping body slumps against him, no longer able to hold himself through the agony. Asa’s lip curls in disgust, shoving the bleeding body away from himself to crumple to the ground.
Glancing back over it seems the dogs have fatally wounded at least two of the intruders, they aren’t dead yet but regardless they won’t be rushing anywhere in a hurry. The injured strangers flinch in terror as he approaches, before anything can be said Asa’s heavy leather boot is smashing the teens head against the dirty floor as hard as he can, skull making a sickening crunch under the weight of it and sending a wave of euphoria over the killer. He notes his boots will need cleaning later, viscera caught on the laces.
Something about the display must have awakened something primal in the least injured victim, taking off down the hall clumsily, usually he would send a dog to give chase or do it himself but he knows this hotel inside out, there’s a range of traps lining the walls of just that hall, let alone the entire building. Regardless if Asa bothers to follow or not he won’t be making it out alive. As if on cue a guttural scream then groan can be heard. He made it atleast two corridors down, better than most.
Attention now back in the room Asa looks over the last victim, curled up and bleeding into the ratty carpet. Shock probably. No point in making a show of this one, his mind has already checked out. He might make good food for the projects in the basement…you can never be too prepared. Sighing Asa slings the man’s half conscious body over his shoulder without care, whistling for the dogs to follow as he makes the trek to the basement.
Being a disabled man results in specific problems because of the way that men are viewed in society.
For instance, we are commonly viewed as aggressive sex pests. A double edged approach of this is seen with autistic men, where awkward attempts to talk are often seen as creepy flirting (Notably, studies show a sharp communication gap when autistics and allistics interact), and where actual intrusive behavior far beyond awkward words is sometimes played off as "Well, maybe he's autistic?", further cementing the idea of autistic men as naturally sexually predatory.
This is a result of the presumed incompetence of being disabled melding with the idea that men and boys are naturally sexually aggressive. Disabled men are presumed to be less able to control themselves, and therefore are perceived as an amplified threat above that of abled men.
In reality, disabled men are estimated to experience extremely high rates of abuse, with about two thirds of the men in this sample experiencing domestic abuse. Men with disabilities are 4.2 times more likely to be forced to penetrate their rapist than abled men. Disabled men are vulnerable, but portrayed as threatening.
The perception of men as aggressive and disabled men as uncontrolled hits a particularly insidious note with the skewed gender ratio of diagnoses of ODD (Oppositional Defiant Disorder), a diagnosis that is notorious both for racial bias and for leading to incredibly poor treatment by doctors. Disabled Black men are statistically one of the groups most vulnerable to the violence of the justice system of the United States, with 55% of them being arrested at least once by age 28.
The idea that men have to be providers hits disabled men especially hard. Disabled men have an unemployment rate of 7.8%, and when that's coupled with the decrease in self esteem and increase in depression seen in unemployed men, it doesn't paint a happy picture for us. Being unemployed makes people view men as less of men, and men judge themselves the most harshly.
The fact that manhood is seen as a default or neutral state also has a huge impact on the availability of overtly gender-specific research. Compiling the sources in this posts took substantially longer that it took me to put together a similar presentation on women when I was in middle school and substantially less experienced with research.
There were several subjects here that I wanted to tackle due to personal knowledge of how systemic issues affect disabled men, but I was unable to come up with research that separated out men by gender, or less ideally sex, in the results. In particular, I wanted to find information on how likely disabled men are to go to the doctor when they have an issue, compared to abled men, and, if possible, their reasoning for why they did not. Interpersonally, I find that disabled men are often more hesitant to go to the doctor than abled ones, for reasons ranging from fear of medical abuse, to feeling like they can or should be able to tough it out, to simply not having the money.
I want to stress that the issue was not that research had found that men didn't have that problem, but that the specific literature about men did not exist, or, at least, not where I could find it. I consider it likely that the degendering of disabled people is also contributing to this issue. Disablity and manhood intersect in ways that create specific forms of harm for disabled men. Overlooking this overlooks a good deal of the harm that disabled men experience. We deserve better.
Just going to post this real quick to my blog to ward off a specific type of person rq: I don't support transid.
Never have and never will. Argue with a wall if you want to change my mind cuz you won't atp. I've tried to understand where yall are coming from, but can still find faults in your logic + ways you're genuinely harmful.
Tumblr media
[ Rant under the cut about why I don't support transid. Fair warning: It's kind of really long ]
I don't care what justifications you have. If you genuinely feel dysphoria over not being abused, traumatized, disabled, a terrible person, or whatever else, then that's something you take up with a professional.
I am strictly anti-harm, anti-abuse, anti-violence, and just anything that causes harm to anyone at all. Even people I hate.
Transid inherently has a percentage of people in their community that want to transition, and considering that it has identities such as transnazi, transabuser, transgroomed, transPTSD, etc, I just can't support it.
You don't plan to "transition" yourself? Why aren't you calling out people who do? Just idly standing by when your community has a really harmful problem is also contributing to the problem. Your silence is a statement, especially if you're extremely active in a specific community.
Even if you don't support "transition" when it comes to harmful identities, where do you draw the line on what's harmful? I'd like to argue that transautistic is harmful. You cannot transition into being autistic. Full stop. Same with being ADHD, actually, but I won't get into that since I don't know much about ADHD personally.
But even if I don't know much about ADHD, what I can say is that both conditions are abnormalities in the way your brain functions and develops. And with that I mean the way it physically functions. You cannot wish your brain into developing at a different rate than an allistic, nor can you wish it into genuinely reacting differently to certain stimuli, or whatever other differences there are.
You also can't take any type of hormones/meds to change how your brain fundamentally develops, processes external stimuli, and/or processes the chemicals your brain is subjected to.
And just to prove that autistic brains in specific are different from allistic's: Here's a study just to prove my point.
That means that you cannot transition into being autistic no matter what, and attempting to do so will be nothing but pretend. And no, you can't liken this to transphobia. Gender is a social construct, unlike autism + your physical sex is malleable due to your physical sex being determines by what hormones your body produces and/or whatever genes you have (mutated or not.)
Then there's identities such as transnazi and transabuser or whatever. I don't care what dysphoria you have, you shouldn't have the want to harm people, and if you do then fucking seek support and professional help so you don't harm others.
Same goes for any type of transabused, transeatingdissorder, transPTSD or whatever else. Wanting to go through worse trauma is a normal reaction to having been through "mild" or ignored trauma, but actively identifying as having gone through "worse," or worse: actively trying to "transition" ( become more traumatized ) isn't okay, and only causes harm to yourself and others.
And no, bringing up BIID isn't valid either. Them having their limbs removed to cope with their dysphoria is a controversial stance/action even in professional spaces. Usually people with BIID get cognitive behavioral therapy, other types of therapy in general, or similar treatment. At most they'll suggest VR to live without having a limb, or suggest using things like crutches, but that's it.
Professional usually want to avoid a healthy limb being amputated, and similarly you shouldn't jump to "transitioning" if you struggle with any type of actual transid-related dysphoria.
There's also transrace, which I won't speak on too much since I'm very much white, but I can say that, in my humble opinion, it borders a little too close to blackface, yellowface, or whatever else. When it comes to POC wanting to transition into being white, maybe talk to a professional cuz there's most likely some trauma causing that urge.
And no, just because race is a social construct does not mean it falls under the same category as gender. Race is usually based off of physical characteristics that labels you as fx. black, asian, white, whatever.
While gender, on the other hand, is also based off of physical characteristics sometimes, but that isn't everything. Gender is more based on aesthetics you attribute to your identity, and includes abstract concepts such as certain colors (pink/blue fx.) being for girls/boys, glitter being seen as more feminine, while mud and that type of stuff is seen as more masculine etc. It also changes more drastically over time fx. men used to wear skirts/makeup/wigs a while back, but now those things are more so seen as feminine.
Even transage is problematic. Not because of predators or anything. While, yes, that is a problem, I have a different reasoning as to why I think it's problematic. And that's cuz it includes kids truly wanting to be treated as adults, and adults wanting to be treated truly as kids. Sure, adults can be treated as kids to some extent, but kids cannot be treated as adults, or as equals in general by adults, due to the fact that actually being 10, and feeling like you're 10 years old while being idfk 20, are two very different things.
Kids being treated as actual adults can lead to harm on their psyche, which they often cannot fully comprehend due to being younger. You know, since kids don't have enough life experience or impulse control to truly know what they're consenting to, what they're doing, etc.
This doesn't only apply to sexual activities and being in sexual communities, but also in regards to viewing violence, having adult responsibilities, etc.
Either way, If the plurality community, the agere community, and autistic community can understand this, then you should too. I'm mentioning autistic people due to the fact some autistic people are often seen, if not outright are, mentally less mature in some cases. But even then, we still shouldn't be outright treated as kids since we're still adults, and if we interact inappropriately with kids, then we shouldn't be excused either due to being "mentally younger."
Sorry if I was incoherent during this rant. I just wanted to shout into the void about my stance on this while also warding off transid people. Cuz honestly? Seeing people support transid frustrates me due to all the harmful things mentioned above.
