“Shadow Play” by @wizardofrozz - delicious smutty Fox x senator!Reader goodness that I have the most severe brainrot over. I swear I think about it randomly all the time and need to go drink water. brilliantly showcases secret love and sensuality. Rozz really did that!!! 😩

“I trust him, and he trusts me” by @enigmaticexplorer - this fic is soft and meaningful, and also spicy. I love when a fic can hit both notes flawlessly, and Alli kills it with this one. Fox x Reader x Wolffe is one of my fave combos, and this validated that love so perfectly.

“night shift” by @wolffegirlsunite - this fic DEVASTATED me. I cried. I love Fox, and I want him to have good things, but he lends himself so well to angst, and Kira captures that beautifully here. you can feel the yearning, the loss, the pain. it’s a stunning fic that packs a punch.

“so late it’s tomorrow” by Me! - This was my first time writing Jesse x Reader, and I loved it so much. It came so naturally, and Jesse is so boyfriend coded. It made me fall for him even harder. I hope y’all enjoy it too!

I love the smell of the ocean. Hopefully one day I can return to Cornwall and get a good sniffa in on Merlin's Cave. I almost got stuck in there at high tide, but I gotta say it smelled delightful while I hopskipped for my life.

Some all-time faves: Zelda, Zero Escape, BioShock, Fallout, Dragon Age, Baldur's Gate, Bugsnax, Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga... One of my besties got me into Vintage Story, which I can't recommend enough, even if it's been a bit since I updated our multiplayer server. I should defs get on that... Anyway I friggin adore games that focus on story and exploration! I'm a slut for environmental storytelling, like object clutter... Oh!!! Also surreal and psychological horror! But like if monsters are involved I'd prefer to be dating them ya feel me?

♥ choosing just one dynamic (for time saving reasons) was like pulling a teeth cause you know i'm weak for ALL the sibs interactions but i had to go with the one who stayed more consistent through the seasons (along diego&luther tbh and allie&vik but for different reasons) ben and klaus got a whole other level of exploration in the canon divergence au i've been building in my head basically sdgjs-

the hardest part about choosing a favorite dynamic is that I’m so influenced by my favorite character that it’s like I couldn’t allow myself to commit to any dynamic that doesn’t include luther because I’m so fixated on him and his development with each (and it’s so much easier to know the exact moments you need when it’s your fave) —- and it’s so funny and also extremely validating to see the other dynamics in the tag because it seems everyone else gravitated to a dynamic with their favorite character as well. we are all so valid for that.

I was most excited for this day because it gives so much insight as to what we really enjoy about this show and the characters and tua has provided so many spicy dynamics on so many levels that I am kicking myself for only making one (I already have a list of different dynamic sets to make in the future because my head is buzzing this week!!)

We all gots our Thrawn-faves. Having just started the Ascendency series (working from Thrawn’s youth to the Thrawn/Treason series. Full confession—I’m old enough to have read the original TTT back when they were first released, and just revisited them last year…). I’m about 1/3 of the way into GreaterGood, and despite Zahn’s lack-luster writing style (I’m also reading ‘Shadows of Mindor’—love the tone-tops Zahn’s writing like hot, spicy homemade salsa vs the stuff outta the jaw—that LUKE IS MY KIND’A LUKE!! Oh, the characterization is so not neutered—and—as in my own AU tale/crossover with the Keltiad/and Firefly, he’s a General…commissioned military Jedi Knight vs anti-hero Thrawn both competing for the same woman who’s trying to save the Galaxy from Ultimate Evil threat…BOOM!)…anyway, despite Zahn’s monochromatic writing style, Ivecreally come around the Chiss. They’re sort of mix of Vulcan/Romulan with a sense of Feudal Japan mythos and formality in their ruling classes/social structure/autocratic bureaucracy/etc. I think what frustrates me is, Thrawn has been so well in certain fanfics (Draculard/ImperialGrrl/MissKitsunae/—Recent fave’ discoveries—‘Thrawn, Actually’ and ‘Luminous Transient Events’—), over the years, Zahn’s pet-boy creation just seems diluted in comparison. And Zahn rarely ever writes from Thrawn’s POV, which I can see the intrigue for tension-building’s sake, but at some point, the narrative suffers for lack of well..Thrawn’s inner-monologue. We’re treated to impressions where he expresses moments of emotional duress/tension/concern/even temper, but we never know what’s actually working within the Thrawn programming. And it’s frustrating (less so in the original TTT since he wasn’t really a main focus POV character, other than *Imperial Villain*, perhaps less vile, but no less black and white at the end of the day). Frustrating, bc getting glimpses of the inner emotion state, along with his analytic ability, would flesh out the character, and and a level of drama that would sizzle up Zahn’s takes a bit. Also, while I enjoy the younger Thrawn we see in Ascendency, and the transition to the cultures/ruthless pragmatist of his Imperial transition, I don’t buy the whole ‘political naïveté’ thing for a hot-second. Reconciled in my own canon as just one more way Thrawn plays everyone else around him (which is also one of the key strains of tension between Thrawn and my OC—who points out, no one wants every interaction to be defined by a need to strategize or second guess/clash at wits/tactics—whether an ally, a friend, or a lover. It gets exhausting never being able to trust someone fully, which is a lesson for Thrawn to reconcile past his own ego.). Meh’, anyway—for me, new canon compliments old—ar’Alani best embodies that transition in Treason, where she basically rakes her old friend (er, lover as well, in the subtext, there…), ripping him a new A$$Hole, when she accuses him of have abandoned his commitment to the Chiss by allowing his convictions to soften with the excuse of serving some greater good, no matter the price of principle, to Palpatine’s interests. I feel, she suspects Palps was using Thrawn like a tool, so subtly even Thrawn doesn’t see the deception till she punches the first crack in the mirror of reflection. And reflection, self-reflection especially, isn’t something it seems, at which Thrawn particularly excels…anyway, jus’mydeu’cents…just visualize your happy Thrawn’s, just paint them with his happy trees…

I get that this is an unpopular opinion, but I’m really not a fan of how the Chiss were retconned from being formal and professional, cool, and a bit stuck up in legends to being #relatable and essentially human (read: American) in canon. For one thing, I liked that they were alien and “other” and lived according to their own mysterious moral code outside the light/dark binary. The other issue is that now Thrawn’s personality, mannerisms, fears, and motives make no sense.

For years, Zahn said that Thrawn is the way he is because he “has an alien mind with alien morals.” Now we have the Chiss doing the pearl clutching over Thrawn’s “colder” actions, actions they wouldn’t have batted an eyelash over in legends (with the exception of his over-involving himself in the affairs of non-Chiss). Rereading Outbound Flight it’s clear how very typical his manner was among his people. His entire demeanor of formality, solemnity, hyper-pragmatism, and capacity for cool ruthlessness was due to his Chiss biology and cultural upbringing. His attitude toward preemptive strikes, his open-mindedness, and his incredible tactical skill were the only things that separated him from the rest of his kind.

I understand that they were trying to make sure that the reader would relate to the POV Chiss characters (as per a Q&A with the editor of the Ascendency novels), but what they’ve done is basically the equivalent of taking Spock, whose behavior is largely due to his (half) Vulcan biology and cultural background, and then decided “you know what? Let’s make every Vulcan but Spock Midwestern Americans in space.”

i know that poly with the tweels is really popular but when it comes to floyd and jade on their own does yume prefer one over the other? do you have a fave leech brother based on your preference or who is more fun to write? i like floyd more but i also see the appeal and feral side of jade

I like poly with twins too! (+Azul if I’m feeling more spicy) but the twins shine on their own too~! (๑╹ω╹๑ )

Personally, Yume found Floyd easier to write, since his personality is basically this unhinged, kinda mentally unstable character which is right up my ally if I’m doing Yandere lol It gives me a lot of ways I can go since Floyd is really susceptible to basically everything lol

Yume is one of those writers who says their written dialogue out loud and pretend to be that character for a minute to get a good grasp over their personalities and stuff. It’s embarrassing, I know but it works When it’s Floyd, it’s so FUN, especially when I start speaking in Japanese going “ねぇねぇ〜小エビちゃん〜遊ぼうよ〜” Just Yume having fun imitating Nobuhiko Okamoto-san’s (Floyd’s VA) for a minute i suck tho Of course, I also can’t forget about the times we “switches” and boom, you got a daddy in a second. (Yume loves this part the most since Floyd becomes even more unreasonable in this mode and whatever stupid yandere shit you write is acceptable lol)

If Floyd is fun to write then, I’d say Jade is an interesting specimen. (๑･̑◡･̑๑) He’s a bit of a challenge since it’s easy to completely mess up his whole character if you’re not careful. I love his whole calm but unstable personality going on and although he doesn’t switch like Floyd does, I still find him so much more dangerous. Whenever I read out the dialogues I made for him, Yume always needs to have this unsettling smile on her face or else the whole act crumbles down lol In a way, he’s still similar to Floyd, only that there’s this clever twist that makes it almost unnoticeable.

Also, how the fck do you translate his famous “おやおや” huh.

In the end, Yume did not pick any favorites, she loves them both equally~! ヽ(；▽；)ノ They’re both fun to write because they’re basically okay with every scenario you put them, scary yandere-themed or vanilla-soft themed! Whichever you want!

Ardent: Around HW time I was struck by the idea of “man I would love to do a fic where Haurchefant and Nerys are trapped in a cabin in a blizzard” and I finally gave in and did it, and it sorta launched everything I’m working on now

Also the first thing I had actually finished in a long time. This year has been a year of finding ways to finish things and learning to not fall into “if you write a snippet of any other WIP then you are BAD” 

Most Popular Multi-Chapter: While I did some time on both of the big Bioware kink memes back in 2011-2013, I was more active in the Mass Effect one. A prompt caught my eye that intrigued me and I couldn’t get it out of my head, so I sat down to write and it just...poured out of me

I look at a lot of stuff I wrote in college and before and it is...honestly rough a lot of the times because college was a time of breaking away from some truly toxic and harmful ideologies. Every day I find a new pre-conception I need to shed

So I am honestly surprised that given the subject matter and my immaturity at the time, Galaxy’s Oldest Profession turned out as well as it did. I still really like it. Idk, maybe there is a reason it just...sprung out of me like it did with a bisexual heroine who wasn’t afraid of her body and her sexuality. And again, this was years before I let myself come out to myself.

Anyway that got extremely sentimental but even though a nasty, doubting part of me is worried I peaked then, I’m glad I wrote it and that people like it. (Also the Shepard in that is so different from the Paragon I played, both are extremely dear to me in different ways. I think my first tattoo will be a paragon symbol for **reasons** but this renegade-flavored Shep in the series is a part of me too.)

Actual worst part of writing: Getting started, feeling like you have a picture in your mind but what you write comes out as poo, worrying if it’s Bad Actually and you don’t realise

How do you choose your titles: Lately it’s been scouring the thesaurus for an hour and writing out about 50 titles before something clicks. I’ve gotten around the “summary problem” lately by doing a snippet in the description but titles are tough! The last one that didn’t suck was “This World of Trials” because I had the FFIII song “The Breeze” stuck in my head and it worked thematically so...picked a lyric 

Do you outline: Not formally. I have tried this for larger projects to varying degree of success. When it comes to one shots (and right now I’m pretty much doing connected one-shots or one-shots broken into chapters for readability) I usually have scenes in mind I want to do and either figure out how they connect as I go, or dwell so long mentally that I have an idea of what’s coming as I write

Ideas I probably won’t get around to, but wouldn’t it be nice? One abandoned WIP I don’t think I’ll return to is a cyberpunk-urban fantasy hybrid world I came up with for a McHanzo AU. Still enjoy reading about the pairing from time to time but I lost steam and haven’t picked up the game in a few years now. But maybe I’ll keep the world I made for something later?

I did have a story sorta planned for ME3 to make the Galaxy series a trilogy but the sequel, while it has scenes I love, did feel a bit of a slog at the end. Folks–and I think most of us are past this stage but just in case–it is a bad idea to put in a pairing you don’t really vibe that much with at a commenters’ request and then go back and forth with them about whether or not you are writing the character well. (Also I really had not spent enough time with Ashley to write her with confidence.)

I also had an AU idea I took a crack at where John Shepard is F!Shepard’s husband and they fell in love during the Akuze background where she saved him. Then a few years pass and she realises she has let him take all this credit for her work, thrown away a lot of her career for him, and when she is bypassed for Spectre for him...she needs some time away and takes command of a ship where she meets Garrus. But I just don’t know if I’ll write for ME again. 

Callouts @ Me: Just you know *waves vaguely at how all my insecurities and need for validation can sometimes skew how I see myself as a writer* stuff. Also try to break out of the comfort zone I have found myself in with present tense and not describing enough

Best Writing Traits: I have some fun dialogue and do my best to tap into my big emotions. Also some of my metaphors and similes are cool

Spicy Tangential Opinion: I appreciate if you like my story but please do not start with “I normally don’t like OCs.”

So many of Sarah's characters are wife material so this is haarrd. My gut reaction is Cordelia or Ally if you couldn't tell by the break down shown above 😂

Both of them are badass bitches but also softies which I love. I would want to steal clothes from both of them. Spicy times would be great with either of them. Both of them would help me with my college work and stuff. One of them has a kid but the other wants one.

With all that being said, I think I'm gonna choose Cordelia because we've known her as a character longer. This is the only way I can choose between my faves 😔💖
