HYBE got my fucking ass by having Namjoon, Soobin, and Taehyun in that 5 part HYBE T&D Stories series, which made me WILDLY uncomfortable, but can be summarized as:

Namjoon built HYBE and everything they do is inspired by him. They are NOTHING without him, not just BTS but the whole company. Bang Shi-Hyuk better spend his days thankful he signed Namjoon until the day he dies in one of his many mansions built on the back of the greatest icon to come out of South Korea in the last 29 years.

How Namjoon manages to be so humble when it's now a blatant fact he's the blueprint for why HYBE trainees learn a damn thing about music is beyond me. As well as get educated on gender studies, climate change, and even get a yearly psychological evaluation. All of these things he started and they just saw how they were beneficial and implemented them for their other trainees to also benefit from.

As if he and everyone at Hybe didn't know since months PRIOR how his debut was gonna go down, like that Hybe staff (and Jimin anti) that got caught on DC Gallery talking smack during Jimin's debut about JK's single, because they all knew it had already been BOUGHT thanks to 🛴 & Bongo.

Also the way he stated:

"I'm Korean , but I'd like to be the one and only singer who can cross back and forth between k pop and pop songs I'm gonna conquer all genres if I could " "one and only singer"... one and only singer to do WHAT when OTHERS have already done it BEFORE YOU??? (Shinhwa? Ailee??? Hello???) He'll never be the "first and only", "one and only", JUST THE PRIVILEGED ONE.

But you know what really gets on my tits? Its the way he toyed with the fandom's emotions through vlive acting out this story of the mistreated, neglected member that was too scared to ask the company for permission to come on vlive to talk to army, so he asked one of his hyungs to cover for him and "take the blame".

And then continued his little sob-story of "Oh I haven't left my apartment in over 3 weeks. All I do is eat takeout and sleep and play with my dog 🥹 please pity me." Getting so drunk that he passed out like twice (with a whole ass candle still lit) and coincidentally SOMEONE who was already inside the apartment would turn off the live (IF there was a staff with him at all times while recording, why did they let him get so drunk to the point of passing out? )

Then came the rebellious, child tantrums at his own hyungs asking him to take it easy with the drinking live (consequentially bringing hate against said members and his solo stans applauding this behavior as him "standing up for himself & doing what he wants" and how "respect has to be earned").

Then came the sasaeng scare, the "Please don't follow me to the gym where I work out every day, that scares me buuhuu 😭." And again getting drunk "to show how upset he is" by the whole situation, causing more unnecessary concern (a.k.a creating morbid anticipation and more people tuning in to the circus show).

But the live that really took the cake was when he first failed to hide the very obvious vape that was literally on top of the table in a very obvious pink color (like his hoodie) that many quickly identified, then another sob story, then FINALLY came the TEARS, acting like he was about to say goodbye to the fandom for the last time with the perfectly executed: "Please be happy, even if I'm not here." before ending the live and sending the fandom into a frenzy of "omg poor kookie, he's suffering so much" and "omg what if he harms himself???"

Everyone was SHITTING themselves on the TL, expecting the worst to happen.... only for Hybe to share a post from CK with a clip ready to announce that JK had been named Global Bran Ambassador to CK, with this huge promo, a whole ass video, photos, posters, an interview, the whole she-bang.

And suddenly... he was fine? Did another live like NOTHING happened? And the ones that followed??? Suddenly he was this refined model for CK that actually gave a shit about his image? Ya'll cannot convince me that this man was not gaslighting the FUCK outta the fandom through this whole shit-show while 🛴& Bongo finished up securing his achievement$ & po$ition on the chart$ before officially announcing his debut (despite having announced a month prior that another member would debut instead).

Even Jimin called him out on his BS during that live in the car after one of the music shows where outta the blue he interrupted the live saying he was gonna go watch Jimin perform live, as if he didn't know that Jimin's promotions had ended that very day.

Like atp I just feel pity for his stans 'cause they're SO NAIVE that they believe everything he says to the point of creating this false narrative that JK was the one who actually got sabotaged on his debut and received the shortest debut/promo time compared to Jimin. When the cold hard truth is that everything he got was thanks to all the MONEY 🛴 & Hybe invested on him.

Thank you for the review to the last 5 eps, I agree w you. Them feeling unwanted bcoz they don't get positive feedback reminds me of your comment on the last ep of Lastart. "You see, Riku realises he needs to fill in the shoes, that's why I like him, he is like Taeyong, he will improve relentlessly, some others don't feel the burden really...". The need to realize your role in the group & work on it, rather than focusing only on getting positive feedback as the goal.

Whether DA will last long: Aside from beating out the individualistic self, I also want to point out the motivation to join band like this. Idk much about the band culture in the West, I can only refer to what we know in Kpop; commonly being able to debut in ur group is the pride, the final dream (years being a trainee), long time commitment (TVXQ, Suju still active today), a name u want to protect (Haechan w NCT). Things might be different in non Kpop environment (contract as well)..

Hopefully they keep learning to be more as one group.

I've watched the last episode yesterday. And even watched an English morning show for kids DA guested at for promotion (where slime was thrown at Blaize). The show left an impression... not of a good kind, lol. So they truly follow the k-pop route, variety shows including. (I kind of enjoy how one hobby (stanning one group) kind of expands in different directions and conbines different experiences. The way I related to Doyoung saying salak from the jungles was tastier than from the shop. Still couldn't find fruits as sweet as the ones from Waigeo island. At least Malaysia had the right round kind. The ones in Thailand are not really edible fresh.)

I liked how Reese told Hee Jun Yoon "I'm a good boy, not a bad boy", when she hinted that they should do alright as a group unless they get into scandals. It was funny. Either the UK producer (that old man) or SM team made sure to take the character of trainees into account. Evidently the guys weren't picked at random only based on how they danced and sang during the initial screening of candiadates.

The boys won a golden ticket, were given private lessons, were treated with care, and still needed multiple lessons to show that they are too over their heads. They wouldn't last a month in a real Korean idol-survival show, heh. I suppose "lashing out" was out of self-protection. "I'm working all day and doing my best, it's not my fault!". Reese wasn't scolded much because he corrected what he was told to correct, not just "put in effort".

Looks like most of them are in the group to perform (two did musicals, one has been singing from childhood, one is a tiktoker), i.e. to be liked and to have fun. Some have musical education though, Maybe song-writing or producing will appear in the future.

DA can last if they develop real friendships. 10 years is highly unlikely, but even 5-7 years will be a good result. With Blaize it was evident he wanted a found family. He looks very different (open, not closed off) in the interviews now in comparison to the show. It's a joint production with SM, the company will continue to participate. SM needs success with them to replicate this formula.

Speaking of Riku. He is on a quest of shipping himself with Jaehee. Considering fans like Riku/Yushi, it is also a consious decision to work for the whole group (three pairs: Shion&Yushi, Riku&Jaehee, Ryo&Sakuya, and the least popular quiet member brought to the spotlight). Of course, Jaehee being a good sport and an enabling friend helps.

Do you know/like others ship ? And do you know that Tae hold hands with other member even Suga or they all hold hands with each other so it's not only a VMIN thing... I think you should know better before you say they are couple or something cause no one is dating anyone you just think that cause you focus on one that you like the most and that's it. Try to see how they all act with each other and you will see that they all the same but of course they don't have the same personality... ---

So V and Suga would not be the same as Jimin and Suga or JK and V would not be the same as well like JK and JM and so and so...  I don't get what people always really think they are a couple in real life cause you see half or just what they want you to see... With  every boyband is like that... just cause fans don't want them with girls and of course they act cute with each other (cause they can't with girls in public) and fans like that but that's how it works I guess. I'm sorry. 

You know what… For some reason your ask actually offended me a little bit. Even though I essentially agree with most of the things you said. Maybe that’s why. I think it’s a good thing to have the mindset that we don’t know everything and that staring only at one ship can make you blind. It’s also a fact that there is so much we never get to see or know and that they have control over most things that we do get to see. So, yeah in short it’s not a bad thing you are trying to say.

But, if you have followed me or read my blog, you should know that I try really really hard to do exactly what you try to explain. I try to be mindful and remind people of my bias towards Vmin and I also again and again explain that I do not believe 100% that Vmin is a couple. In fact I think it’s most likely that no ship is real but that shippers over analyze and see what they want to see.

Also you imply that I ship them and WANT them to be gay and have a relationship with each other because I don’t want them with girls and that is honestly so incorrect your assumption makes me angry.

First, them being gay and being in a relationship would likely be very difficult for them if it was true. It’s not something I would wish on them just for “my own sake”. I think a lot of “believers" of various ships tend to forget this part when they get lost in trying to prove a ship being real. Also I would totally support them if they got girlfriends and I think the possessive behavior so many fans (especially in Korea) display is horrible and I would love for them to be able to do whatever they want without worrying about the fan’s reactions.

However I also don’t think anyone should assume that they are all straight and don’t think fans need to “protect” BTS from people speculating about their sexualities unless it directly harms the members. I always try to not have a definite view either way, straight or non-straight, even if I have personal theories based on various things I am always prepared to be proved wrong. But, it should be said that being viewed as straight until “proven otherwise” is a norm that needs to disappear.

Also, you mention other groups and of course they have similar problems too. I am well aware as I am both a multi in k-pop, j-pop and was part of the One Direction fandom (not as a Larry shipper btw). But again, my personal reasons behind shipping Vmin and for thinking there MIGHT be something between them is definitely not based in me WANTING them to be gay and in a relationship.

However, I still find a lot of interesting or weird things when looking at Vmin’s interactions, and I think it’s good to talk about that too, at the very least as a counter weight against other popular ships.

Anyways, answering your questions, yes I do like other ships. I answered that in an earlier ask (Other ships (kpopidols) that you like?), but in short I think all members or BTS have great dynamics and are worth shipping. Vmin is my own preference and my only OTP in BTS but I do not only enjoy Vmin interactions if that is what you are implying.

And about Vmin holding hands... Of course I don’t know every time other members hold hands and I admit that. It’s impossible for one person to take notice and remember everything when it comes to BTS and their interactions and I obviously pay more attention to Vmin automatically.

I also agree that all members act differently with each other since they have very different personalities. For example I am aware that Vmin are very touchy in general and thus it’s not strange for them to have a lot of skinship with each other as well. 

I do not think that all members are equally close, even if they all obviously love each other. If so Vmin wouldn’t call each other soulmates or best friends. So I have to think about the things that make them similar but also the things that makes them different. 

But while I do agree that all members do a lot of things with each other, I think context and amount still makes Vmin stand out when it comes to their hand holding. 

For the hand holding in particular I have found that Vmin seem to do it a lot without any obvious reason. For example other members hold hands for games, when bowing at the end of concerts or when they basically are supposed to do it for one reason or another. Tae and Yoongi hold hands when they can’t agree etc. Of course they hold hands at other times as well, but it’s not that common from what I have seen. And of course Vmin hold hands at moments when they are supposed to as well, but I am not only looking at those times.

Vmin hold hands a lot, and often it seems they are doing it just because they want to or even need to. For comfort. It also often seems to be more for private reasons than for the audience, aka not fanservice. These things makes it different to me, even though admittedly I can’t know for sure if they might have other reasons to hold hands.

For example in the cooking episode Vmin held hands about 14 times… For various reasons and in various ways.

And I personally can’t see any other members doing that besides Vmin. They do it a lot, that’s why it’s a Vmin thing. Not because it’s exclusive to them only.

My general view is that Vmin holds hands much more often than other members, but of course I can easily miss it when other members do it and haven’t compared every single time it happens to know 100% that Vmin truly stands out. I could be wrong, because it’s just my own view and biased interpretation.

But that’s the thing, I always try to be transparent with my views and the flaws that come with being biased. So please, before you judge me, at least try to read my posts first. I am not sure why you sent this ask to me specifically, if maybe it was a particular post you found that you took offense to? And I am sorry if I come off as rude, but honestly so did you.
