A nonbinary loving nonbinary flag!

Using the alchemical symbol for sulfur as a nonbinary symbol the way Mars and Venus represent male and female. (original post about that here)

A flag for nonbinary people who are attracted to nonbinary people. This attraction does not need to be exclusive, it is meant to be inclusive, the way "men loving men" includes all men who love men, and "women loving women" includes all women who love women, even if they're also attracted to other genders.

These symbols can be adapted for a flag for nonbinary people who are exclusively attracted to nonbinary people if you would like!

This flag is called called "sulpherian", or "sulpheric" because I earlier decided to use the alchemical symbol for sulfur as a nonbinary symbol, and this flag's colors were chosen to match: Sulfur is yellow, burns blue, and melts into blood red. Sulfur in alchemy represents both fire, and the soul.

Many people shorten "nonbinary loving nonbinary" to "nln" or "xlx", and either of those can be used as well.

I wanted a nonbinary symbol that was not connected to the male or female symbols, but as something that can stand on its own, that is distinct and easy to remember and that most people should be able to draw so they can make their own art with it.

I've provided a blank version of the flag, along with versions with connected nonbinary symbols, and a single symbol with a heart on the inside, along with the files for those symbols, and icon sized versions for use online.

These flags, like all the flags I create, are Public Domain, so you can use them for literally anything you want, no credit or permission needed. The only thing I ask is that, when you share it online, please include an image description so that blind and other disabled people who need IDs can be included in your posts or art.

Hauntlight and Cenotaph, a pair of original, public domain characters created for the also public domain book Flatland: A Romance of Many Dimensions, by Edwin Abbot Abbot.

This character reference sheet took like four days to make.

After this is another version of the line from before, labled, "Most simplified! If drawn as a solid shape, should be black or orange", with a smiley face emoji. Next is a "Literal Line", purple with a grey outline, labled, "too short, ran out of paper. Grey exo, 2x repro organs, 1 set functional".

The last form is a humanoid form with three legs and two arms, with a single large cyclops eye in the center of its round head, which is tipped with a swooped arrow like a spear point. It has the same colors and pattern as the earlier humanoid, with ink-black skin and brown markings.

Story Idea: Contrasting Yanderes

Before the holidays are up, I'll just throw out a random idea. I like the idea of stories that has two yanderes: one that serves as the "good" yandere and the other that serves as the "bad" yandere. You know, protagonist vs. antagonist or hero vs. villain.

There are different ways to make yandere characters you root for to get the S/O, or so despicable you want to see them taken down. If you put both in the same story...you get to have your cake and eat it too :D Lots of juicy moments.

Not to mention, an evil parallel for the hero to compare themselves to could bring some good character development. I have no skills with story telling, but if I did something I'd use a common story in the "public domain" territory for creativity. Holidays made me think of the ballets for "The Nutcracker" and then "Swan Lake."

I have nothing concrete, but I'll babble for fun below just basics I was considering.

The Nutcracker

"Good yandere"= the Nutcracker

S/O= Clara

"Bad yandere"= Mouse king (just make him a bishi, lol)

Not much drafted thought wise other than the two yanderes both fall in love with Clara and want her to come live with them, whilst of course the Mouse King is still trying to conquer the Nutcracker's kingdom. And poor Clara is just getting overwhelmed with the crazy fantasy she's just found herself in. She may even be torn between trying to find a solution, breaking the Nutcracker curse (if there is one) and/or just getting back to her normal life.

This kind of story I think would best be developed by first SERIOUSLY thinking about the loose story of the Nutcracker, the worlds of the characters and how the story should end. Should still be the Nutcracker ballet at heart in my opinion.

"Bad yandere"= Rothbart

Optional side character: Odile

If I ended up making a story myself and wanted to include Odile, I would NOT make Rothbart a yandere for Odette, but her dead mother instead. For those who don't know, Odile is from the original ballet and she's Rothbart's daughter. I'm not a personal fan of the idea of making Rothbart pine for a woman his daughter's age.

Rough idea is that Rothbart was in love with Odette's mother. Odette and Odile could be twins, but I think what I'd do is make Odile a little older and the daughter of Rothbart and the mother. I'd then have Odette's mother successfully flee at one point before getting pregnant a second time. The mother meets a prince, he agrees to hide her, they fall in love and get married. Odette's born from those two.

Many years later, Rothbart finds the mother or at least where she used to live. Debating whether she died of an illness before he gets there, or if she gets accidentally killed when Rothbart confronts the court. Regardless, Rothbart kills everyone, but can't bring himself to kill Odette because she's the spitting image of her mother. Rothbart's not in love with Odette, but does take and keep her prisoner via the curse. It's a way to keep the last remnant of his former love, but also spite the prince the mother married by not letting anyone else have Odette.

I don't know how to incorporate Odile yet, but having an additional character could be useful considering Swan Lake I feel to be more of a confined story than The Nutcracker.

Anyone is free to steal these ideas. I might try something someday to see how far I get, but I really don't have strong storytelling or drawing skills. The other problem is actually with crafting a yandere myself XD Just analyzing yanderes vs. crafting one is two different things in my opinion.

Since I'm more of the "villain or horror" yandere lover, I'd first be worried I'd either end up hardly making the "good yandere" a yandere at all. Or the opposite where he still ends up too messed up to be "good." And with the villain yanderes in these scenarios, I would have to make sure I don't go nuts to the point where they don't accidentally end up as yangires instead or something. You need a clear line between the two different yanderes, but also a smart balance for each character.

[Jonghyun, until gaining confidence] Because of his silver dyed hairstyle, the other members call Jonghyun "old man". Because he let us hear a lot of his thoughts, even beyond the answer to the questions during our conversations, it's really like he's an aged grandpa. From start to finish, he was thoughtful and did everything remarkably with all of his heart that it's fascinating.

Q: Congratulations on the success of your album, "BASE". Have you sufficiently enjoyed that success?

Jonghyun: When I started with my solo activities, I wasn't really aiming to get a record like getting number 1 in music charts. Even though only my name appears (in this project), I didn't do it all by myself. The staff who supported my music celebrated along with me when the results came out so it was really pleasant.

Q: Do the results for the coupling title "Crazy" seem disappointing?

Jonghyun: Instead of being disappointing, it was more like I was able to learn about things like what kind of music the general public likes and what kind of music are easily acceptable to them. At this time, I still do not know how this information will influence my work with music, but the information gathering during the release of the album "BASE" is greatly meaningful.

Q: But aren't Jonghyun's musical talent and the ability to verify and accurately grasp the general public's preference the same? I think it's alright to boast a bit about that.

Jonghyun: I do not have the confidence to boast about it, but I also do not fully understand the general public yet. It is true that I proposed that the song "Deja-Boo" be released first. But it's not because I have the confidence, it's more of I thought it would be better to do things ambiguously. I hypnotized myself and risked that it would do well. I've been facing the public for eight years, but I do not really expect anything.

Q: After your solo album is released, SHINee's album is next. Don't you feel any pressure?

Jonghyun: I don't especially feel any pressure. We search for a new image that's outside (the usual) SHINee, merge those results and advance more freshly. An artist has a role of a muse that provides inspiration and trends. I also want to be such like that so in the new album, there's a song called "Odd Eye", just one song, that I wrote. It's like I submitted a kind of evidence.

Q: Submitting an evidence? But why is there a need for proof?

Jonghyun: What I mean is something like, "I can possibly write a song that fits SHINee, but I cannot write it." In comparison to the image that I, who is a part of the group, see in SHINee, the image of us that the staff outside (our group) is viewed more freely. When I was writing the song, I had to preserve the image that we've shown everyone until now but I also had to append it with a new image, so I was very troubled. I questioned if this is the correct approach or method. The members and I were the ones who will be singing the song, so I couldn't do objective judgment. That is why I firmly intended that until I manage to face this and find a confident answer, I cannot write songs for SHINee.

Q: This is your eighth year since your debut. Do you think you've become closer to the ideal image that you have dreamed of?

Jonghyun: Instead of having a specific objective, for me it was more like I aimed for personal satisfaction but it seems that I will not be able to fully satisfy myself in a lifetime. I'm the type who loses all motivation if I do not preserve my neediness/want. It's like when I think I'm lacking at some parts, I absolutely have to think of what to do (to fill it); I'm constantly worrying.

Q: Recently, what do you think is lacking in you?

Jonghyun: Sleep (LOL). I worry that I've become used to working as a composer and doing an artist's usual activities. Since I'm used to them, I become more flexible, but I also become more absent-minded. I have to stop getting used to things and put a great effort to not deal with music with mere practicality.

Q: Within SHINee, aren't you the one who is in charge of exposure? Jonghyun has an ambiance of a sexiness that's just his.

Jonghyun: Is that so? Isn't it because I'm trying to be discreet? (LOL) The exterior sexy image is a consummation of the accumulated results of training, attitude, and exposure, right? However, the larger part of me that I show the general public is an image of an honest youth. Isn't someone who has his own view/opinion seen as sexy? That is the image that I want to have.

Q: Last March, you successfully conducted concerts in Tokyo Dome. You really cried a lot.

Jonghyun: The amount of energy given to us was just as much as the large number of people who came to se us, and we enjoyed it a lot. Little by little, we can remarkably see the results of our Japan activities, it felt like we had our answer in our own special way. Until before that, since we were doing overseas activities, we wanted to do it well no matter what. We were anxious because we might miss something because of the differences in cultural backgrounds. However, when we finished the Tokyo Dome concerts, that anxiety was flung away and we have readily gained our confidence/conviction.

Q: The domain that only SHINee is able to do has expanded, right?

Jonghyun: I think that being a member and debuting as SHINee is good fortune. I think that I used up all my life's luck when I debuted as a SHINee member. Above all, I think the most important is that the five of us have met. I think that even if it is not us, a group named as SHINee can still debut from SM, but I don't think they will exude the same color as we do now. The present SHINee is the result of the united efforts of the five of us as well as of the numerous staff supporting us from behind.

In my own personal experience, no one has acted on it unless they were image types. I had e2 and e3 friends turn against me or try to public shame or emotionally hurt me if I was doing better than them or was more liked, and I don't think I've ever been close with a 4. But never a 6 unless they're family members : in that case they try to know all the details of my life (I'm talking about aunts calling me and asking the most inapropriate personal questions every single time to gossip about me afterwards), and try to get me to have the same that they had with not one spec more. It's almost as if they feel justified to act on it cause we're from the same family and they expect to not have anyone close to them have it better. Or they want to enforce the same rules they had to follow on me (puke). But never any 6 friend. So even though everyone feels envy (obviously), I think the heart triad are mostly the ones that are gonna act on it in the public sphere, or that would actively conspire against a perceived competitor behind their backs. I'm close friends with a 1 and even though I observed her disintegration to 4 during hard times, she just gets away from the people she envies and shit-talks them (super-egoely I guess? like "everyone likes her for some reason, it's not that I care"). But then she just goes on with her own life. With e2s it was more I'm gonna turn our whole friend group against you (I'm also gonna say that they were all Fe-doms and I've never had these problems with ESFP 2s so who knows?? But other Fe-dom 9s and 7s that I've been friends with, even 2 fixed, have NEVER been like that).

And I know I'm biased but I disagree with e6 being the new envy type as you say, because in the sufi video that I saw that woman explaining the types says that other teachers have given a lot of different names to the 9 fixations and that was only one of them. For exemple in my life I don't see envy being as big as jealousy and yet I don't see e6 being named as that? (and I think it should from other e6 observations) Also Ichazo correlates Envy with e2, e4 and e5 : e2 : The psychic poison of the Relation Instinct at the root of Ego-Flattery is Envy. e4 : The Passion which feeds this ego is Envy. e5 : The poison of this domain is Envy. (maybe why Bill Gates shorted Tesla stock? lol I have a close e5 friend since childhood and it does leek out from time to time in small outbursts)

4 and 6: Both Envy types

This is a symbol from Sufi enneagram, which far predates Naranjo enneagram. It shows that 6 is the Envy type, NOT 4. However, later enneagram removed Envy from the 6 personality and attributed all Envy in the human psyche to 4. This should explain why so many 6s mistype as 4s.

In this post I will explain how 4s and 6s differently experience Envy. 4s experience Envy just as all types do, but a whole psychological complex based around Envy is 6, not 4.

4s are envious of people from a position of competing for attention. If they feel they have worked extremely hard to project a meaningful image of themselves and their story, and then you strut in and you appear to be more worthy of attention from their desired people than them... the 4 can become very insecure and envious of you. They will usually react by trying to peacock flamboyantly, trying to prove they are better, more worthy of attention than you, in their personal way (4 -> 2 response, displaying immense Pride in their image or ideal that they want to be recognized for, displaying how much more special, more worthy of attention they and their vision / story are).

6s are envious of people because they suppress so many of their desired behaviors and their very Faith in themselves, due to fear. They are always comparing themselves to others due to Doubting their own intuitions about what to embody. Doubt makes 6s lack Faith in their own abilities and intuitions and feel hopelessly incompetent. When they see people who don't suppress themselves as much, people who appear to have Faith in themselves and behave with the boldness the 6 secretly wants to embody, and most of all, people who are competent in the way the 6 wants to be competent, they can feel very envious and frustrated. Sometimes this Envy can manifest as hero-worship and trying to copy you as if you are an ideal set for them on TV, secretly hoping they will eventually surpass you. Sometimes Envy manifests as the 6 directly competing with you (both are 6 -> 3 responses).

I’m so excited to share this super HAWT book cover Katy Souders made for my latest novel, HIS RANCH HAND, coming August 17th.

HIS RANCH HAND is an American Western romance that I’ve dreamed of writing for a long time. I’ve been in love with the American West since I was a little girl, and I am incredibly proud to finally have a western of my own. Some of the first books I enjoyed reading were the Louis L’Amour novels my grandfather gave me. And I cannot tell you how many hours I’ve spent watching movies and shows about the West, and even writing my own teenage western romances. To introduce you to Myron Poste (the narrator of the book) and his love interest, Cade Buchanan, I’ve selected a sweet excerpt to tease you. Myron is on a journey of self discovery and an even bigger journey of self-acceptance. Words like submissive and dominance didn’t have the same meaning in 1873, so Myron has a real struggle accepting that his need for dominance doesn’t make him less of a man. And Cade? Well, he has his own hang ups about the things that he desires most too.

EXCERPT:

First day of the drive, no men got hurt, but a cow broke its leg, so it was steak for dinner. With a full belly and muscles tired from a long day in the saddle, Myron went to check on Lucy. He’d ridden her this morning, taking out Duke and Brave the rest of the day. Lucy was a jealous sort, so he brought her an apple before he hit the hay. He didn’t have watch duty, and a full night’s sleep called his name.

Young Jacob wasn’t watching over the horses, it was Cade. He leaned against one of the posts of the makeshift corral, having a smoke and his back to Myron.

He only hesitated a moment before casually walking up. “Evening.”

Cade didn’t startle, probably already heard his approach. He turned and a waft of smoke obscured his face. “Poste.”

Ignoring the way the much bigger man’s very presence made Myron jumpy, he clicked his tongue to get Lucy’s attention. Several horses stirred, and after a shuffling of beasts, Lucy, ears up, made her way over. He withdrew his knife and sliced off a piece of the apple.

“Here, girl,” he said, holding out the slice with a flat palm. Her velvety lips fluttered over his hand as she took the treat.

“Gonna have them all over here in a moment,” Cade remarked, as Duke, the bay Myron had ridden this afternoon pushed up against Lucy. He cut him off a piece too.

Cade shifted to lean sideways on the post, smoking. His gaze stayed locked on Myron as he alternated cutting pieces of apple off until it was gone, and a third horse had nosed its way over too, seeking a treat.

“All gone,” Myron told them all, hands up.

“You spoil that horse,” he remarked.

“I do.” When Myron put away his knife, Cade held out his cigarette in offering.

He only hesitated a moment before taking the cigarette and having a nice toke. Cade’s tobacco was sweeter than his, and he liked it. He held the smoke in, and passed the cigarette back, briefly allowing himself to think that once more, their lips had both been on a cigarette. Would Cade’s kisses have the same lingering sweetness of his tobacco?

“Beautiful night,” Cade offered.

Myron stroked Lucy’s nose, desperate for something to anchor his wayward thoughts. He wanted to stay, he needed to leave, and he dreamed about stepping closer. Instead he patted his horse and agreed, “It is.”

“There’s the Big Dipper,” Cade said, pointing up. “And the little one.”

Cade seemed to be in a chatty mood, and though it only made Myron’s yearning stronger, he felt obliged to indulge him. He gazed up at the star-spattered navy blue sky, identifying several constellations right away. He pointed to one. “Orion.”

“Which one is that?” Cade stepped closer, gazing up in the direction Myron had indicated.

There had been no need for Cade to come so close, for no tree obscured their view. And there should be no reason for Myron’s heart to race like a cattle stampede either, but it did nonetheless. He cleared his throat, not surprised by how hoarse he sounded or the way his hand trembled as he pointed at the constellation. “See there, the three small ones all clustered? That’s Orion’s belt.”

Cade moved closer still, but his gaze remained heavenward, using Myron’s finger like the sight on a rifle. “There?” He pointed up too, their arms flush now.

He stood so close, Myron could make out his thick eyelashes in the moonlight, see how long they were, the blond tips disguising that fact at a distance. There was no distance between them now, and their arms were still touching. Helpless, Myron gazed at his full lips and licked his own in want.

“Y-yeah,” Myron choked out, his body responding to Cade’s overwhelming manly scent, his nearness, and the fact that he didn’t mind having his arm pressed against Myron. “Th-that’s it.”

At the peculiar sound of his voice, Cade turned his head and looked right at him. Not moving away, he offered a sideways grin. “You sure? You ain’t even looking up.”

Shit!

Myron stepped away so fast, Lucy reared her head and huffed her disapproval. Even in the dark Cade had probably seen Myron staring at his mouth. His heart pounded, his arm on fire where it had been pressed to Cade’s. He could still feel the heat of his body and the cold absence of it in the air between them.

“Yes, I was,” Myron argued, feeling a fool. He pointed up with confidence. “You’ve got it. That’s Orion.”

Still smiling at him, Cade flicked his cigarette to the ground, and only released his gaze to glance down and extinguish it. When he looked back up, Myron hoped he didn’t notice the growing bulge in the front of his trousers.

What the hell were you thinking, staring at him so openly?

And why did he stand so close in the first place?

“Thanks for sharing it with me,” Cade said, voice a heady timber that did nothing to quell Myron’s ardor.

“Y-you’re welcome.”

“Now I know three constellations,” Cade said, then he looked up. “Know any more?”

He cleared his throat, and pointed out Pegasus. “That there square? It’s Pegasus.”

“The flying Greek horse?”

Myron couldn’t help but smile at the childlike wonder in Cade’s tone. “Yes, the same.”

“I suppose the stars’ll look different in the Dakotas.”

“Suppose so,” Myron agreed, stuffing his thumbs under his belt and feeling off kilter. “They’re different down here in Texas than they are in Pennsylvania.”

“You stayin’ on another season with Lawson?” Cade questioned after a moment.

“Nope, gotta head back east. My family’s got a bit of a situation I need to tend to, now that Mama’s passed.” He didn’t want the ugliness of what lay in store for his future to tarnish this rare moment alone under a blanket of beautiful stars with a man he craved more than air itself, so he asked, “You’re really going that far up north?”

“Yup, parcels are cheap up there. Public domain land to graze on too.”

“You plan to work it by yourself?”

“At first,” Cade said. “Plan is to get there and build a shelter for me and a couple horses. Figure I’d buy cows in the spring. Won’t let me take Longhorn up there because of the ticks.”

Myron nodded, knowing full well all the hassles settlers and farmers, not to mention the government, inflicted on Texas cattleman because of a tick the cows carried. Didn’t bother the herd, overmuch, but it did cause problems for folks and other animals. That’s why they were driving the herd on the west side of the Pecos through Apache lands to Santa Fe. Too many restrictions on the safer route to the railhead in Abilene.

“Thinkin’ I’ll plant corn for feed,” Cade continued, the excitement evident in his voice. “Maybe have me a little vegetable garden come springtime. We set out later than I wanted with this herd, and the seasons come faster up there. Maybe I can get a few things in the ground before the frost. Or at least till some earth for early spring planting.”

Myron smiled, thinking of Cade harvesting things like tomatoes. He could imagine him taking a bite of one, still warm from the sun and ripe with sweetness, the juice dribbling down his chin and beard, the way Myron had done as a child. Though the visions Cade conjured held none of the innocence of childhood.

Pushing those images away, he said, “Good plan.”

“Don’t suppose I need much more than a snug shelter and supplies for me and the animals over the winter. I’ll be able to hunt too. Can ya just picture it?” Cade said wistfully. “Your own land, a ranch, small house. Maybe someone to share it with.”

At that last whispered sentence, Cade dropped his gaze from the heavens and looked at Myron with a faraway smile.

Myron’s throat went dry but he managed to nod. “You paint a pretty picture, Buchanan.”

He imagined his own version of that picture, the two of them holed up the entire winter, snuggled in one bed inside a tiny little cabin that smelled of man, soot, and horse. His thoughts shouldn’t go to places like that because it made his cock throb. Thankfully the darkness, and Cade fixing his attention back on the sky, provided him a moment to adjust the indiscretion.

The character from a dream I had about the Eigth Doctor and Charley Pollard's audio adventures, who can be 100% standalone, lol. He was accidentally abandoned as a child and completely paralyzed, and was rescued / adopted by robots who built him a cybernetic suit to let him move around. He's never met anything entirely organic, until his biological parents fall off a cliff and right into his family's territory. His robot parents recognize them and tell him who they are, and he's super excited to meet them when they wake up. If they wake up. They did fall off a cliff.

I just love beetles. I think there should be more bug themed superheroes that actually look like bugs. Spiderman should have extra arms and legs and eyes.

A mutant scorpion hybrid who's appeared in many of my dreams. I don't know her actual name still, but people called her "Babyface" because she hasn't aged a day since the apocalypse started when she was a teenager. She goes around hunting down fashists, and their enchanted, undead remains follow her around as mindless minions who eventually turn into walking skeletons. She's never hurt anyone who wasn't a horrible person, and though no one's ever been able to communicate with her, they treat her with respect and make sure not to block her way or stop her from getting to anyone she's targeting. She's never been wrong before.

I want more bug themed superheroes with extra limbs. What's the point in having bug themed superheroes if they don't get extra limbs. and play on the poisonous traits. Come on.
