My favorite part of their fight is this, his disbelief that she still doubts his loyalty. He’s so hurt by that as we can see, he even says “You think me some kind of monster”- very vulnerable if you ask me. Then he’s finally losing it and says how he’s planning to raise and army IN HER NAME, and that is exactly what he will do even though he is hurt by her mistrust. Just chefs kiss.

You know how Charles reacted to the daughters in the Devlin House? Rewatching the scene when Crystal is yelling at Edwin "HE'S OUR FUCKING DEMON NOW"

trying to explain she's scared and feeling alone, Charles' face journey in that scene. . .

I feel like it's a similar connection around the after-effects of abusive interactions he's remembering along with her then. Realizing the kind of relationship Crystal had with David, knowing what it's like to have someone fuck with your head and leave you scared and alone after. . .
