You’re sitting with your foot propped up on a pillow, at the foot of the crow’s nest. Bandages wrap around your sprained ankle, with a silver ice pack freezing your skin.

Luffy is screaming at Sanji for food, as usual, since it’s almost noon and he has to snack at least every three hours. You lick your lips, waiting for the sudden impact you know is coming.

Smack!

Luffy collides into your side, sending the ice pack flying. His arms are wrapped around your waist, his face already smushed against yours.

“Kitty!” He shouts directly against your cheek. You strain away from his megaphone of a voice, squirming in his elastic arms.

“Stop it,” you complain, swatting him away. He groans, slumping against you with his head buried in your hair. He sniffs, once.

“Sorry,” he says, muffled.

You wriggle out from under him, his arms loosely draped over you like ship’s ropes. He’s got his black coat on, with his scarlet cardigan left open over his sculpted torso.

He snaps his hands back to normal. It’s like reeling in a measuring tape.

“Sanji’s making salmon today,” he swipes at his nose, squatting next to you with his dusty sandals planted firmly on the deck’s wooden slats. He’s scanning the horizon, sky reflected in his dark chocolate eyes. He smiles back down at you, squeezing them shut.

“Let’s make snacks!” He lifts you up with strong arms, carrying you bridal style toward the kitchen. He squats down again, still cradling you, as he picks up the ice pack he’d scattered earlier. He stands, his arms under your shoulders and knees, and kisses the tip of your nose. You hide your face in his neck, and sniff.

Cedar.

His sandals slap against the deck as he carries you across. You let your head fall on his shoulder, your eyes slipping closed. He’s carrying you oh so gently, slower than any rubber-wrapped speed shot he usually does.

He side-steps you into the room, softly closing the door behind him. You lift up, expecting to see the kitchen, but you’re surprised.

Luffy’s quarters.

“Captain?” You ask, staring up at him, the sharp underside of his jawline above you. He smiles down at you, sparkling eyes heavy.

He sets you down on the mattress, ass first.

“Wanna taste,” he says, sliding his hands up your legs. He squeezes at your thighs, smiling brightly. The lantern suspended from the ceiling sways above him, rocking in time with the subtle movement of the ship. “S’okay?”

Desperate, you nod.

Captain Luffy smirks, sliding your shorts down with no further hesitation. He sniffs deeply at the apex of your thighs, his lips dusting over the coarse hairs. He presses a kiss to the mound, this place at the center of yourself. He thumbs down your outer lips gracefully, spreading you apart ever so slightly. His lips part in awe.

Viktuuri week day 3: Home

Okay, lemme ask. Is HS^2 good? I was reading it when it started, but dropped it after a while because I wasn't enjoying it and wasn't sure about it's status as canon to homestuck proper.

Initially, I was assuming it was something like an "official fanfiction." Officially made by a group of people who own the homestuck license, but because it's not actually written by the same author and stuff, basically as 'canon' as any fanfiction. Which I thought was super interesting and a fun stance to take. But I don't think the team ever really took that stance, and I was just believing the interpretation of a friend at the time who was in the patreon. And realizing that I kinda lost interest.

I was mostly just wondering if it's actually a good story or not. Regardless of its canoninity with the original Homestuck, if it's good, I wanna give it a try, and if it's bad, well, I can just keep putting my attention towards other things.

And by god. I'm sure there's some stupid drama shit or weird controversy going on, as always with homestuck. I don't want any of that in the replies, I just wanna know if it's a good story so far lol please.

One of the earliest pieces I ever commissioned was this one with Jackie's Arch. I'd always wanted to get a companion to it, a night time ride on Scorpion's bike.

Over the last couple of years, I was lucky enough to work with @okayolek several times (here, here, here), and when they opened commissions in the fall, I knew I wanted them to do it.

They delivered.

For background on the piece, it's set between the end of No One's Gonna Love You and the sequel I have dreams of writing. Val is dying and they're running out of hope for a cure.

Olek captured their emotions perfectly: love and hope and a hint of sorrow on Mitch's face; the hopelessness on Val's. And that's just them! The detail Driss's bike! The Badlands moon casting that gorgeous glow across the scene! Night City and the wind farms in the distance! Literally everything.

I'm sorry that I can't recommend that you comm them as they've retired. Olek was my first experience commissioning fanart and a joy to work with on every other occasion. Thank you for everything, Olek! 😭

Sometimes I have some really cool and fucked up sort of Bloodborne+ dreams and last night involved an optional boss fight that drastically changed how you perceived the enemies if you did it

Killing this optional boss would alter your perception so that the beasts were now just regular people still capable of speech and thought, but because it was only your perception that was changed it was impossible to actually tell whether or not you were actually killing beasts or people and you were essentially locked into a permanent state of blood-drunk frenzy

magi rambling

idk it jus hit me out of nowhere how much i love magi fic and how sinja is portrayed in such. imo THEEEE best magi fic of all time is works cowritten by galiko and daphnerunning, those two were genuinely on galaxy brain mega dimension level thinking full time, but like less abt magi meta as a whole and more on how the characters are so true to themselves and their flaws

it's been so long that in not gonna be able to remember who all did it but i def remember all of galiko's sinja fic that also portrayed sinbad/judal to some extent, that it was made very clear in the text how differently and on different footing both relationships stood. judal especially in their hands was written so well in a way that changed how i viewed the character in canon to some extent and in every other piece of fictional media. like how can you write someone so pathetic and deceptive and a bastard and it's all perfectly in character

I've never been into sin/ju and i don't think i ever read anything w them in fic seriously or w/o skimming but i did sit thru enough to know how the galiko/daphne pair brought them forth and made it very wanton-ly obvious that sin is always just manipulating judal and leading him on to get what he wants at the end of it all, but in contrast, it's clear that he so deeply loves ja'far in ways mere words cannot express

to see the relationship dynamics compared and contrasted in fic was always such a treat because sin treats almost everyone like they're a stepping stone used to further his own objectives, but then he treats his advisor like a genuine person. shows real care and concern, becomes inconsolable when ja'far is hurt, refuses to quell his rage for any reason when someone has wronged ja'far. his advisor truly is his precious person that he can strip down out of his title as king and just be sinbad around.

and this is even further glorified when ja'f knows but insists he doesn't!!! playa it off bc sin is king and this is uncouth!!! only to have such moments of weakness when anything goes terribly wrong and he's suddenly on the brink of death, terrified of leaving sin behind all alone, letting himself have just as long as it takes to recover the bare minimum amount to bask in sin's unending devotion. they truly do treat each other differently in canon and otherwise and it's so gratifying to see and realize each time as someone who loves sinja so dearly

Of course the sequel to Out of the Tomb would be a vocation story. Tanza's let go of sin and embraced virtue. Naturally, the next part of her story would involve her figuring out what she's going to do with her particular gifts and interests. Especially if what she should do doesn't necessarily line up with what she'd want to do if given the choice. With all the crazy political stuff bringing in questions of duty and image and danger, it's the perfect fit. I can't believe I didn't figure it out before.

And 18 starts of scenes that I just abandoned after between 19 and 300 words.

Btw this means that im officially writing 4 wips which are the s4 rewrite monster of a fic, the cheating fic which is turning into a fucking monster of a fic, the summer camp au which will almost certainly be a fucking monster as well, and now Chrissy's groundhog day adventure. I am going to keep this under 30k. I am not going to post it until its finished. I can do this. I can do this. I can fucking do this. Jfc
