i have a quastion. what is dungeon meshi like i’ve considered watching the anime since it looks amusing…. i trust you as an authority on this hence why i’m in your asks :3c
Dungeon Meshi is so good!!!
So Ryoko Kui (the author of the manga) is a super super great artist and writer in general, and her knowledge of intimate and expansive worldbuilding, including the cultures of different fantasy races is VERY apparent in dunmesh without being super in your face. It strikes a perfect balance between showing and implying and telling; giving you information when you need it but not holding your hand throughout the process. Ecology and biology of creatures and the places (mostly dungeons but yk) is SUPER important and expanded upon in the story. It scratches my Creature autism SOOO well. And all of the characters are VERY distinct and fun AND THE DESIGNS FUCK SOOO HARD. Dungeon Meshi has become one of my favorite series of all time, because it's so. so fucking profound. There are a LOT of funny moments and gags but there's an equal amount of genuinely serious and emotional moments. The character dynamics. GOD. Cannot recommend it enough.
Also. Dungeon Meshi is super fucking horny. LMAO. Not in a "fanservice-y" way (in fact, there is only ONE character that ever gets upskirt/panty shots and it is Senshi, the bearded dwarf man. He's my fave btw <3). But dunmeshi uses consumption (and to a lesser/technical extent cannibalism as well) as a... metaphor for love and obsession, and frequently eroticizes it. I hesitate to say metaphor because it's honestly VERY obvious lmao. Especially with how genuinely autistic Laios is about monsters and eating them. Then there's also transformation and change that's also VERY eroticized. A lot of the focus of Dungeon Meshi is desire. How people experience it, and just how far people will go for it. Which, again, is super eroticized a LOT. All done in a tasteful(? not sure if this is the right word but yk) way and not in a surface level "LOOK, SEX!!!!!!!!!" way. Not that there's anything inherently WRONG with being horny and not being like profound about it but I'm just trying to make a point lol
Now to specifically talk about the anime since that's what you mentioned wanting to watch (though I REALLY reccommend the manga, it is fucking GORGEOUS and there are so many hilarious panels that haven't been brought over to the anime, despite how well it's been doing with that so far. It just happens with turning a manga into an anime yk?)! It's doing a really good job so far!! The only issues I have are relatively nitpicky (I've gone into detail abt it if you wanna see here) and more of an issue with modern anime overall so! They're doing a really great job of translating over from the page to the screen and the voice acting work (both the original japanese and english dub) is really fucking good. And I don't typically like modern english dubs. The layout of the episodes is really nice so far too, centering around the "dish/es of the day" without feeling too constrictively like your typical "monster of the week" type episodes. It helps that Dungeon Meshi as a media itself strikes a really good balance between that and its storytelling. Though again. Laios is genuinely SO fucking autistic about monsters and eating them lmao and the series focuses on him/his party so! There's so much good in depth discussion about monsters, both their biology (especially in relation to their taste hehe) as well as their natures, and ecology!
I'm also really a fan of netflix releasing the episodes weekly instead of dropping them all at once. It's refreshing coming from netflix specifically considering their... track record.
But anyway yeah! TYSM Marty for coming to me about this and letting me go on an autistic talk about it!! I only apologize for not being more specific, but a lot of my dunmesh posting (reblogs anyway since I'm pretty sure the posts I've MADE about it have been relatively vague??) is already pretty spoilery and I'm a firm believer in a first watch/read being as spoiler free as possible!! It makes subsequent rewatches/rereads all the more fun to me personally <3 Though that's obviously up to you lol
#mud rambles#warewolfish#ask#answered#also I will apologize for not being super........ articulate...? I guess?#I'm bad at explaining my thoughts lol#I tried to at least break it up to make it easier to read#BUT THIS IS TO SAY. YOU SHOULD TOTALLY FUCKING WATCH IT AND READ THE MANGA IF THATS UR THING I THINK YOU WOULD LIKE IT UWU#long post

5 underrated movies I recently watched that I think are amazing and deserve better
Maya the Bee (2014) I watched this recently for the first time and it's incredible! I'm saying this as a hardcore DreamWorks fan that THIS IS BETTER THAN THE DREAMWORKS BEE MOVIE! The bee movie is more for adults, only good to make fun of and laugh at the memes, meanwhile Maya the Bee actually has a good story for the whole family. I especially recommend this movie to kids! I loved how refreshing it was to see a guy friend actually be protective of the main protagonist and not in a love interest way. Maya and Willy actually work together really well. I also loved the minor characters too, and that grasshopper, Flip, was ICONIC! (Btw the movie is not the one with the d*** on the rock, the d*** drawn on the rock was from the tv show so if you watch the movie don't go looking for the d***)
Around the World in 80 Days (2021) This is the animated kids version of the story with animals, they also credited the book it was based off of, but please don't get it confused with the live action version. You won't be disappointed in the animated version at all! It's incredible and it's so funny! Phileas frog is literally so hilarious, and Passepartout is an adorable and funny monkey, and he's very determined too! You'll also love Princess Ayuda, she's voiced by Katie Griffin! (The voice of Ruby from Max & Ruby btw). The movie is actually genius and don't let the fact that it's made by a small Belgian-French company, turn you away from it. Just because something's not by Disney or DreamWorks, doesn't mean it can't be a masterpiece!
Daisy Quokka, World's Scariest Animal (2020) As I said before, just because something is made by a smaller company doesn't mean it doesn't have the same potential (or in some cases, more potential) than a bigger company like Disney. This adorable movie is about a very optimistic quokka girl, trying her best to compete in the "world's scariest animal" contest, with help from an alligator. The humor is incredible, andthe voice acting is amazing, The movie is also well paced and not too boring for younger kids that might watch it. I 100% recommend this for all ages (well, 6 and up at least) and it's a great movie for the whole family! It's made by an Australian company that I never heard of, but like I said, give the smaller company a chance. Animation is getting so much better nowadays and so are the stories! Trust me, you won't regret it!
Manou the Swift (2019) Okay, the animation isn't groundbreaking or anything, but the movie is still pretty great. It has a good message about acceptance and everything but I wouldn't call it exceptional. It's just a good movie, I think it deserves SOME recognition though. Kate Winslet (voice of Rita from Flushed Away) was in it, and she voiced a really loving seagull mother. One thing I actually loved about this movie was that the brother was 100% on Manou's side, instead of being jealous of him like a lot of movies. I know it's unrealistic, but it's nice when they show 0 sibling rivalry once in a while. I loved when he samed Manou from the rats (LOL Spoliers). This is a German-Chinese movie, dubbed in English and no one has ever heard of it. It's 88 minutes long and just give it a try if you're bored.
Ruby Gillman, Teenage Kraken (2023) This is the only big-company made movie I put on the list because IT DESERVES ALL THE HYPE! This is an amazing DreamWorks movie, their newest one, and I'm still furious about Elemental making more money than it. Ruby Gillman deserved to win, 100%! All the crummy stereotypes I was worried about, it did the opposite! Like, it was WAY BETTER than I thought, it deserved so much better! I was worried about it being the cheesy coming-of-age story with the awkward girl vs the popular chick, but it's NOT like that at all and I regret not being able to see it in theaters. I think a good comparison of this movie is Turning Red, and it tackled a lot of things better than Turning Red (The generational trauma, conflict with mother..ect) and didn't show too much of the teen drama with her crushes and stuff. Ruby's love interest, Connor, is actually a really sweet guy and kind of a nerd like her. Unlike Mei, Ruby actually has a reason to like Connor and isn't just simping for the "cute guy" all the time. DreamWorks has been known as making movies similar to Disney to kind of "make fun of them" but in this, they actually did the movie way better. You can watch this movie online in 4k now so I recommend you go and do that!
Anyway, tell me what you think, write in the comments if you seen any of these movies, and if you know fun facts about them ^u^ I forgot to say a fun fact that the Maya the Bee book was written in 1912! Like, Maya the bee existed in the Victorian era? What? 0_o So crazy, huh? It's ancient!

Hi, I really love your crits ❤ but I'm wondering why you dislike Frozen so much? I'm a huuuge fan of Aurora and Mulan myself, and I hate more and more every 3D/live action film and terribly miss 2D animation, but I must say I really loved Frozen (only the first one!!), I saw it together with my sister, who's also my bff, so maybe that's why it appealed to us, there were also some traits we felt like we had in common with these characters... and maybe it's also the thing we didn't see the film with English dub, which didn't the best (totally agreed with your take on K Bell! I'm not a fan of her personally). And I know this movie has a lot of flaws, but at the same time it was really easy for me to ignore them - until F2 I guess, it brought up all of my problems with this franchise lol Anyway, I just wanted to ask - bc I think it can be the problem with all of the new (3D) princesses - aren't they a bit bland? I was thinking about it the other day, what's characteristic for Anna and Elsa and... well, he's extrovert, and the other introvert I guess? And Anna is romantic? But there's no hobby, no distinct personal trait, nothing. On the other hand Rapunzel was briefly shown to can/like literally ALL! You make candles? Play guitar? Sew? Sing? No problem, she's just like you, you can identify with her. And the bland princesses? You can easily project yourself onto them if you will, it's not same they like to, it's say, paint - but it's not said they hate/can't do it either, right? Sorry for my rambling, it's quite late, and I've just finished my weekend Disney Princess movie marathon. Anyway, love your blog and take care xxx
So I wouldn't necessarily say I hate Frozen, I just strongly dislike certain tonal elements to it but I generally don't really think about it because it didn't resonate to me. Frozen to me doesn't really feel like a film but rather a commentary on other films? With all of the "you can't marry a man you just met" lines and how all of the plots that occur were clearly planted in order to combat criticisms of the Disney Princess line: ie them not being active, or physical, or being too naïve, or lovesick which is why I think Anna is treated as a joke pretty much. So I feel like I'm watching a commentary track where this film is retroactively beating up the previous films on which it was based on and whose success made that endeavor possible? And honestly...I think that's what a lot of people like about it. At the time it came out, I never really heard anyone talk about the value of the characters- rather the emphasis was on "Elsa's the first Princess who didn't need a man! She's independent! Unlike the other princesses, she's a BADASS" or them applauding how Hans killed the Prince Charming trope (which I think is largely reductive, and not even inventive as Gaston had accomplished that previously, but I digress). In general, most of the elements people find revolutionary about this film are anything but- this film essentially just takes elements from other films and infuses it with a lot of meta-textual criticism and added in some sparkly magic to divert toddlers. I even read a book about women in animation and the author said that a woman contributed the idea of Anna being gassy (which I hate btw, it's not charming it's uncouth and I don't think men or women should openly act like that lol) and how it was game changing for how women were depicted when Princess Fiona already did that over a decade earlier?
Apart from the elements I mentioned above, as I touched on in my previous response, Kristen Bell's voice gives nothing to me. I don't like how Anna is treated as a joke, I think it's visually very boring, I don't like the 3d design, and I have no object permanence for the plot because it feels like there's just a lot happening to keep people from being bored without any weight behind it. I'm also not a fan of the universe, with the trolls and just none of it makes sense? Like they go through hoops to try to hit us over the head with how strong Elsa and Anna are as female leads and how men are useless but then Elsa runs away from her own kingdom and Anna leaves it to the attention of Hans while she goes off in search of Elsa??? I don't know, it just all isn't for me lol I know a lot of people like it and they're certainly entitled to, I just think it isn't to my taste.

Clear card pros and cons (that i can remember i need to reread it again)
Pros:
SYAOSAKU DATING ‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥
idk more content around our fave characters (though not as much but take it as you will)
The wierd ass technology update all of a sudden everyone has iphones (minus syaoran)
It picked up from the og ending where syaoran comes back from hong kong
SYAOSAKU DATING 🥹🥹🥹
SYAOSAKU WENT ON A DATE ‼️‼️
Unlocked sakura new swag (at the cost of ending her cardcaptor retirement…)
(Anime only) english dub actors of trc syaosaku voice ccscc syaosaku i thought that was pretty cool (syaoran sounds like maybe he went through puberty a little too early but thats okay)
(Anime only) SYAORAN SPEAKS FRENCH IN THE ENGLISH DUB
cute art style
Maybe just me but sometimes i get a little emotional seeing sakura in her daily life in middle school because its like !! Wow i remember when you were in 4th grade and now you’re in 7th grade im so proud of you sakura 🥹
Momo (new mascot to make marketable plushie off of)
(Anime only) MEILING COMEBACK ‼️
THE SYAOSAKU SONG HOSHI NO TEGAMI 😭😭😭😭😭 BEST SONG EVERRRR WTF SYAORANS SINGING VOICE IS SO!:?:)/$/? THEYRE SUCH A GOOD DUET
SYAOSAKU DATING. Btw. Theyre a couple. Theyre dating and theyre in love.
Cons:
KAITO.
New characters who happen to be mediocre
Akiho is literally just a carbon copy of sakura who is just sad (they refused to touch on the different aspects of her like reading books, singing and from kong kong only very rarely)
Kaito fucking sucks literally worst ccs of all time and THATS A LOT saying theres literal PEDOS in the fucking show but theyre all background characters but they can also piss off
Tbf i got confused along the way
Too many plot holes
Syaosaku angst
Syaosaku couldnt touch for a while 😔
Anyway why did yelan do that (referring to point above)
Some shit does not make sense
Tsubasa/xxxholic references (this is for you oomf)
Syaoran???? Is part of the “im keeping things from sakura” gang???? And it sucks so bad (yes it got resolved in the later half BUT IT STILL SUCKED)
TOO MANY THINGS KEPT FROM SAKURA JUST TELL HER DAMN
pushes most characters from the og manga aside to focus on akiho and that man 🙄🙄🙄
Clamp forces us to care about them but in reality we really do not gaf
(In reference to point above) Clamp sees that and pushes the nostalgia tactics/references sometimes and its lowkey tiring
The part where the syao/saku/tomo were reminiscing that fuck ass teacher made me ill i genuinely wanted to kms
Still hasnt gotten rid of their p*do ass shit thanks clamp very cool (sarcasm)
Did i mention that the og characters were pushed back? Because they really were
Akiho felt more of the main character of this story instead of sakura
Tbh not much happened in the entirety of this manga ESPECIALLY considering time shenanigans
Im still mad that syaoran hid stuff from sakura tbh
HOW CAN I FORGET THE UGLY ASS “YUNAAKI IS SIMILAR TO SYAOSAKU” PARALLELS AND HOW BADLY IT PISSES ME OFF
syaosaku dont look but theres an ugly bitch trying to be like you (yunaaki)
Yunaaki becoming borderline canon despite it being a toxic and p*dophilic ship
Kaito still exists in this fucking story and got a somewhat happy ending (befriending syaoran dont piss me the fuck off)
COMPARING KAITO TO SYAORAN KYS @ CLAMP
Kero/tomoyo/yue/nakuru/spinnel basically everyone magically involved is pushed back basically useless until the final act (i think i mentioned the character pushback before)
Still major plotholes
Yamazaki tells the truth now
Touya got whitewashed
Akiho still has too many similarities to sakura it still pisses me off. Why cant they make her her own character
My girl sakura developed anxiety
MY BOY SYAORAN DEVELOPED DEPRESSION
angsty ass middle schoolers
Didnt like the scene where sakuras grandad was basically throwing shade at syaoran comparing his romance with sakura to … sakura’s fuckass dad grooming her mom. What
Syaoran calmed down a bit i miss when he was chaotic af but whatever #middleschoolerthings
Season 2 is taking forever to release good lord
#thats about it i can think for now#if i remember i’ll probably add more idk#clear card spoilers#thoughts

hi! how was your day? hope good.
and yes dubbing is kinda like voice acting :D it's an area of interpretation. im actually more interested in interpretation than translation. if I do not specialize in that area, i would like to be an interpreter in courts and prosecutors' offices.
also, im sure you'll be good at Spanish one day! personally, i find it much more difficult than english, especially because of the different gender markers there are, the slang from different countries, and more. my country is one of the most hated because its spanish is considered 'difficult' to understand LMAO, we just talk really fast, that's all. 😔
ohh, I also read in your blog where you live, there is also El Tren de Aragua? in my country it is also there and the number of crimes they have committed have been just— 😥 at least it is already under investigation and they have captured some of the criminals, be careful btw, they are really dangerous.
take care and remember to drink water. 🌊

I'm doing good, went to a Trump thing today, very refreshing to see people that are fighting for my state as hard as I am. We do not have the TDA here, but we don't know who we have. No gang has risen to that degree, praise God, and none might, but we are definitely on alert. Same goes for terrorists. Either way, my family is armed so they can try to act a fool, it won't work too well for them, though lol.
I'm definitely praying the families are able to flee Colorado, though, and that their democratic governor Jared Polis gets brought to justice for his crimes. You're right, they are no joke.
It is sad to hear that they have been terrorizing your country. They are incredibly dangerous and they are very big. Please stay safe out there, wherever that may be.
I hope your day has been well, too! I hate to bring up a damper topic, but not enough people are talking about it.
Oh, wow! I love courts in general, so long as it homes justice. They are so beautiful. I hope you get your dream job, but if not, I think working in court or around it is such a wonderful career path, too, no matter where the court is.
Even the smallest of jobs change the lives of people. I have a thing for justice, and working in a courthouse was been my dream since first grade. Some cases are hard to hear and see, but it is how we keep society safe in the end. I hope you do well in whatever it is you do, change lives for the better, and enjoy it.
There are a lot of Spanish speakers where I'm at, and you're right. They speak with such speed, light envies it 😭😭

I had to read a shitty take about how bad the german FFXIV localisation is so as its Number 1 Fan have my favorite german translation detail:
The german version of Scholar's Expedient is called "Sturm und Drang" (which grants the buffs "Sturm" and "Drang") which was a historical german cultural movement (which fits Scholar really well) and is often translated to "Storm and Stress" (Drang can also mean "urge" but in this case its more often translated as stress) which fits the skill really well - It's such a good name for that skill in particular I was genuinely shocked to learn that that's a DE only thing
hiding this below the cut but i genuinely feel defensive over this game's DE localisation. and i don't want to put down the EN team, they're doing amazing work obviously, but it feels shitty when FR and DE are constantly treated as if they don't exist while EN is praised for things any other localisation would be hounded for.
like any other game wouldn't hear the end of it if they dared to change the writing to the degree that EN does it - but it's fine, no actually it's better that they do their own thing! something something but actually koji said that one time they write the game in english too so EN is its own thing, they are allowed! But when DE dared to change Zenos final lines? Prison. How dare they change the source material so much?! Don't they know that only EN gets to do that?? EN players could be missing out?!
Let's just say it: It sucks that I have to learn this game in two languages to talk about it online! EN people generally don't have to know the names of skills I don't even know in my language in two languages to talk about them. And they probably don't even know that the planet is only called Etheirys in EN! It's 2.5 versions against 1 for Ætheris(DE)/Ætherys(FR) (JP is Aaterisu, which I award .5 points for using an A even if Æ is not a japanese A sound). I guess EN was embarrassed to use the Æ all of a sudden even though they're the ones who decided to write the game in olden speak. (btw DE is not written in old speech (and thank the twelve for that i (personal opinion alert) can't even stand hearing it in trailers))
And no 'but the german voice over is bad!!' isn't a rebuttal to any of that. There's a lot of german self-hate in english speaking online spaces where any kind of german VO is automatically bad because it's not "as good" and I don't support that line of thinking - German VAs work just as hard and deserve our support! It's just that german gaming/anime VO (compared to other german VO genres where (when they don't hire youtubers) the quality is perfectly fine) is in a similar position as EN was five to ten years ago when Sub vs. Dub was still a thing and people absolutely hated any EN anime voice over:
All german gaming/anime VO is kind of meh and unnatural sounding because there's just not really a fully grown industry behind it in the way that even just other entertainment genres in german have it. Because you can't really release a movie or a TV series in Germany without german VO and expect it to sell well. Aside from special screenings with subtitles basically everything in cinema and TV has german voice over. The thing is you can do that with video games - as long as you provide subtitles it's perfectly acceptable to ship them even without translated VO! And even then it's already getting rare for games to receive german translations at all btw - compare that to the increasing drive of english speaking audiences to complain about the lack of complete voice acting for every single line in a game.
All of that to say I will protect the DE localisation with my life even if actually it's not all that good - which it is, they're doing a great job! I know it's different enough to actually be off-putting if you're used to EN's style, but I think it's a little more whimsical and cute :) I love the ways they translate job titles and stuff like that (we even have our own official job abbreviations!!) and they more often than not actually go back to older titles' official translations for recurring things!
But also enjoy what you enjoy. If it's not for you then move on, you have a broad array of choices to make your own fun without having to put people's hard work down. I personally always watch the german trailers at least once but even with all of the things above I am a JP Subs child at heart and will take JP VO whenever presented with the choice.

so first of all, i had actually edited my original reblog to say "encompasses pride" instead of "prideful", because apparently that word doesn't mean what i thought it meant, lol
what i thought "prideful" meant: to be confident in one's self and proud of one's abilities (this is how i see Gladio)
what "prideful" actually means: literally just arrogant (this is NOT how i see Gladio, lol)
that aside, i'm gonna start with the skills, because i heavily disagree. gameplay-wise, i think Gladio's survival skill is the most useful, and for the longest amount of time. i also think it doesn't matter much whether or not it relates to his camp quests.
Prompto's photography skill is pointless from a gameplay standpoint while being heavily sentimental to the player. i love that he takes photos and i look forward to seeing them! but that's it.
Noct's fishing skill is great until you've found all the associated recipes and run out of new fish to catch. after that point, it becomes boring (to me). i only really fish because i like how happy it makes Noct.
Ignis dislikes cooking! this is canon. i actually think it's shitty that two of Ignis' camp quests (which all have very different dialogue in Japanese, btw) involve cooking. cooking is part of his job, not a hobby he took up on his own. that said, it's a useful skill...in the early game. but Ignis also hates being dirty, so i find myself letting them all sleep in caravans and motels more often than not. in my latest playthrough, Ignis' cooking skill is currently at the lowest level of the four.
now onto Gladio! is his skill interactive? no. but it's great, even well into the postgame. my man's out there finding me valuable healing items, and plenty of loot to sell, which is great when you like to do every boss and sidequest, and also when you're like me and prefer to just buy all the medals at Totomostro so you can get all the best stuff.
ironically, Gladio also has the most varied character quests of the three. Ignis has two about cooking, Prompto has two about photography, but Gladio has one where he goes for a run with Noct, one where he bonds with Noct over fishing, and one where he asks Noct to help him find flowers for Iris. i'd argue that they made Ignis' & Prompto's TOO much about their skills.
as far as my favorite things about Gladio...where do i start, lol.
in the Japanese version, he's very dad-like at times. this is especially apparent in how he speaks to Prompto. he really gives off the vibe that he's someone you can depend on, and often acts as a leader from a physical standpoint (which makes sense because he's a Shield, of course, but it just adds to that protective quality and it's lovely).
his friendly way of speaking is all thanks to Kenta Miyake, who did a phenomenal job as Gladio. i find his voice to be genuinely soothing, in a very "everything is gonna be okay" type of way.
Gladio is also the most sociable of the four, and the only one who i personally headcanon to be neurotypical. i honestly feel that the others would probably be lost without him, and as a neurodivergent person myself, he's a friend i'd love to have.
another one of my favorite things about Gladio is that, despite his self-confidence, he knows when to be humble (in Japanese). a great example of this is his dialogue near the end of Episode Gladiolus, where he refers to himself as an object (a literal shield) instead of a person. this was removed and replaced in English, like most of Gladio's lines.
lastly, i absolutely adore the way Gladio treats Ignis. i'm a Gladnis shipper, which makes me incredibly biased, but it's undeniable how gentle and attentive Gladio is to Ignis. During Chapter 14, Older Gladio even exclusively shields Older Ignis in battle, despite their King being present.
because of the English localization (and Gladio's blatant re-characterization), a lot of people who only played the dub ignore Gladio altogether, or write him as a hot-headed idiot who almost acts as some sort of an antagonist between the four. this could not be further from the original character of Gladio, and it pains me to see it. that's why i will always jump at the chance to defend him, the way he defends everyone else.
I have a question for Gladio blogs/Gladio lovers out there. He is my least favorite of the four boys, but I always love to read about him (and hear others find things I'd never see).
Anyone willing to share what makes him amazing/the best to you? Love to hear it!

About the Boueibu iceberg
@delphoxqueen asked me to explain about my list for the iceberg so here it is. I might update this from time to time with links and stuff if I stumble across the original posts. This is all from what I know so feel free to add new info. Also, spoiler warning for RobiHachi and the Boueibu manga and novels. (This is like a masterpost it’s very long)
1. There’s a theory in tumblr about which decade the series is set in, using data like the friday the 13th calendar in s2 ep11. In HK we got a second number for when the next monthly Pretty Boy Contest was happening and using the one from Love it was theorized that around a decade had passed since then, which ended up being true.
2. The stage play had a few original songs and characters exclusive to it so unless you watched the full performance, you probably weren’t able to witness all of them. One of the characters is called “Robato Deniro”, as romanized in the stage play booklet I own.
3. The nurse and the cafeteria staff from the s1 mobile game appear in the background in around the first half of s2 ep3.
4. S2 had an unfinished manga that was only available online and was never released on physical format; it was centered around the defense club and sometimes the conquest club and Beppu brothers. All that’s left from what I know are the scans linked on magicalgirlsandcerulean’s blog.
5. This isn’t that obscure because it’s talked about in the anime, but I’m mentioning it because I think many people dropped it before the ova, where right at the beginning it is revealed that the alien that resucitated Mr. Tawarayama twice was, as described by Io, a “mulberry-colored naked mole rat-looking thing”, and was nicknamed “Moley-san” by Yumoto. At least in the anime, we had never heard before of who this was and it never appeared on screen nor was mentioned again.
6. In HK ep8, Karurusu promises the knights to grant a wish if they show him how earthlings spend summer. Kyoutarou reveals at the end of the episode that he wished that summer lasted one more day so he could spend it doing nothing, which prompts Ichiro to theorize that it’s the 32nd of august, and the next day is the second 1st of september.
7. The stage play was was held from march 10th to 13rd, of which the latter is Ryuu’s birthday. There’s an additional recording of a small celebration with cake focused on Ryuu and Io.
8. Atsushi mentions his older sister in the flashback at the beginning of s1 ep4, but she never appears or is mentioned again.
9. There’s a few posts on tumblr theorizing about what happened to the Hakone parents since Yumoto only says in s2 ep3 that according to Gora, “they are busy with their hot springs tour”. En mentions that it’s a bit suspicious, but it’s all the information we have from the anime. Posts talk about the parents perhaps passing away from an accident or an illness, thus the reason why Gora was so worried about Yumoto’s cold in s1 ep10, but from another post I think it’s implied in the second novel that they actually left their home when Yumoto was still a toddler.
10. It’s no secret that the surnames of the characters are all real onsens in Japan that even the seiyuus have visited, but apparently the Arima onsen has two different kinds of water, “kinsen (gold hot spring)” and “ginsen (silver hot spring)”, with different properties each, and the Kusatsu onsen water also has certain properties, both that were used to build the characters. Additionally, Ryuu’s favorite food are Sato Nishiki cherries, which are grown in the same prefecture, Yamagata, as his onsen, Zaou.
11. The press club lose relevance after s1, with only Kinosaki and Tazawa reappearing briefly in s2 ep2 to interview the Beppu twins after they arrive at the school. Tazawa doesn’t even have lines. Hireashi is mentioned by Zundar in ep11.
12. What the heck
13. Exclusively in the manga we see that Arima met Kinshiro and Atsushi when they were little and they were good friends, but when they met again as adults, Kinshiro seemingly didn’t remember Arima. Atsushi, however, stated that Kinshiro’s talent is remembering people’s faces and names, so Arima wonders if he’s just trying to distance himself from him. He also explains to Akoya that he follows Kinshiro and obeys him because as a child, he was fascinated by his radiant smile. This is never talked about in the anime.
14. Like the previous point, the anime never shows Akoya being bullied, at most just a slight dislike of his full name, but the manga shows that he was made fun of for it and how he actually hates his surname, to the point of introducing himself formally to the president and vicepresident of the student council as “Holy Angel Akoya”.
15, 16, 17, 19. Batonama lives were the livestreams done through the franchise by the defense club seiyuus on youtube and niconico. They’re all on youtube, without any kind of translation.
Love-ko is a girl with a shell bikini drawn on a piece of cardboard that was used as a girlfriend in the Batonama Love! lives, acted by the seiyuus themselves.
RobiHachi has one episode full of official Boueibu artwork and a parody of the series too, a Love-ko doll appears, and Wombat appears as well, named “The Don”. It received an english dub, so for a bit, people were excited that Wombat was going to speak in english too. Also, various mechas appear in both Boueibu and RobiHachi.
18. The director of Fairy Ranmaru (Masakazu Hishida if I’m not wrong) revealed in an interview that he was inspired by Boueibu and aimed to make a show like that.
20, 21. The website super-groupies.com has results for defense and conquest club lingerie sets, dc and VEPPer tote bags, the Beppus scarf rings, dc bath sets and the pumps magicalgirlsandcerulean mentioned. I’ve found the s1 Loveracelets and Caerula Adamas’ ring on different sites, the True Loveracelets on TheChara’s twitter and the Happybraces (apparently called “Hapibure”) on broccoli.co.jp but I’m not sure where exactly they were all announced and sold, so I’ll just drop that.
22, 33. Boueibu was originally pretty much a copy of Sailor Moon, I think they were all going to be called “Lackluster Moon” and that stuff and be literally Sailor Moon genderbent. They were all different from color palettes to physical features (except Yumoto’s), and Ryuu was a shota, even smaller than Yumoto. Their names were also very reminiscent of the five Sailor Senshis’. Even if they made it more original, the show is still clearly inspired by Sailor Moon (just look at Caerula Adamas lol) and Pretty Cure. It has also referenced, very blatantly, animes like Doraemon, Detective Conan, Aikatsu and even Vocaloid, when Kyoutarou tries to guess what Karurusu is saying with ““Just Google It, Asshole”?” in ep1.
23. Wombat’s real name and the name of his planet sound like gibberish to the earthlings and ends up being named after the Earth animal, but Zundar, Dadacha, Karurusu and Furanui all have original names. And I think Hireashi means “goldfish”?
24. If you google “zundar technology”, it’s actually a company in Shanghai, China. Aren’t Wombat and Zundar always talking about “advanced alien technology”?
25. Zundar and Dadacha are siblings, so are Karurusu and Furanui, and so are their father King Kamopapa and their uncle minister Wao, but neither are the same species and, except the first two, not even the same color. But they are supposedly related because they share birthmarks or something like that...
26. Everyone who’s in this fandom knows about the pixel blur and voice pitch censor from s1, but I’ve added it anyway because it’s so rare for mahou shoujo and shounen animes to explain why the heroes aren’t recognized when transformed.
27. A good while of s2 ep11 is spent discussing Zundar’s ex-wife and his problems to give child support. Naturally, he gets mad at this.
28. “Money doesn’t betray” (s1 ep6) and “The despair hidden behind your smile that comes from not being understood” (s3 ep11) are sentences that came out of nowhere and implied that the people they were said by (Io) or about (Taiju) respectively had some kind of angst going on but were never explained at all. They’re famous for just that.
29. The Beppu twins’ house in Andromeda shown in flashbacks had strange green circles that apparently are from another anime I don’t know but honestly I didn’t get it very well... It was revealed on a tweet from Takamatsu.
30. Alien language mostly appeared in s2 due to the many flashbacks of Aki and Haru in Andromeda, but in Boueibu s1, it appears on the Zundar Needle before it is shot on the human. It appears a lot through RobiHachi as well, due to being a story about travelling through space. There might be an alphabetical chart somewhere, but I can’t assure it exists, I might even have dreamed it.
31. Hikaru Midorikawa as the melon monster, Kousuke Toriumi as the bishounen monster, Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as the kotatsu and panda monsters and Takuya Eguchi as the remote controller monster in s1 and 2, before going on to voice the main cast in HK. Keisuke Koumoto voiced Hatchi Kita in RobiHachi as well as Akihiko in Boueibu, and the characters look similar.
A new addition is that so far Boueibu is the only anime I’ve seen where children weren’t voiced by female seiyuus, but by actual children. Personally, it’s charming and makes it so much more realistic, specifically since no women appear in the franchise at all either (not counting Protag-chan in the game).
32. Speaking of seiyuus, Can I Destroy The Earth? had a dub shown in ep11/12 (?) that made Gora the villain that wanted Earth to stay the same and not progress, against the monsters that supposedly wanted to bring good things to earthlings. Aki and Haru quickly dismissed this dub as fake. (I made a mistake in the title in the previous post btw)
34. As seen in the glossary in the Boueibu Mook (I think, but might not be the mook), Caerula Adamas’ speeches are based on an old japanese detergent commercial that went “Gold, silver, pearl, gift”.
35. In the manga there’s a short parody of the first chapter of Sailor Moon with “Pretty Boy Guardian Gakuran Akoya”. The conquest club manga was released before the anime, so I remember reading somewhere that a fake website appeared for the Gakuran Akoya manga, before turning into the conquest club manga website in the day of its release.
36. Cgi was used a few times in the anime: s2 ep10 for a short sequence of the defense club on a rollercoaster and the carousel monster, ep11 for a cenital shot of the Battle Lovers singing, and HK ep12 for the Honyalaland soldiers and the Wao mecha.
37. The toothbrush incident in s1 ep7. (It’s definitely well-known but it’s so weird lol)
38. “We hope we can see each other again someday!” Something along those lines was the last text to appear in the last episode of HK, implying a s2. We all know how that went.
#boueibu#new post bc i didn't put a readmore in the other one and it was getting too long#msorry#long post#speaking of the robihachi eng dub... sarazanmai has one too...#so many animes like those get dubs but not boueibu?! HOW UNFAIR#at least we got the funimation subs#is the game even canon??#i mean with stuff like how everyone is apparently straight in there#even yumoto who pretty much came out as gay in the anime#that's very inconsistent#i mean. it is canon but maybe it's like an au? idk#also we need gakuran akoya to be real lmao#also no prequel with gora or hk s2. WHYYYY#i think this took me four hours

hello! could you talk a bit more about the original (as in jp, not localization) ouma's personality and speech patterns? you've mentioned that he tends to trail off or speak more softly when it is implied he is speaking the truth, etc. and how he is not so loud/intentionally obnoxious. //btw when does he call himself a fairy? that's so cute
I got a couple of questions asking about the fairy line Ouma has, so I don’t mind sort of rolling them both into one! And I’m more than happy to talk a little more in-depth about Ouma’s speech patterns and personality in the original game, too!
Since I’ll be covering some late-game spoilers, I’ll put the bulk of this under the cut, so be careful when reading!
First off, I cannot stress how much I recommed playing ndrv3 with the Japanese voices enabled. If you’ve already played through the English dub but never experiened the original voice acting cast, I promise you won’t be disappointed. The Japanese cast are all fantastic, incredibly talented VAs who, unlike the dub, were hired specifically for these roles and not just re-casted from previous DR games.
Hiro Shimono as Ouma gives an absolutely incredible performance. The localization might still have many flaws in its translation and omission of certain lines or punctuation, but you can still very much get a feel for how Ouma’s character was intended by listening to Shimono’s performance. Re-playing the game with the Japanese voices will definitely let you hear how soft and tonally different Shimono’s performance is in places from the English dub, and compare it to the way in which many lines are written and punctuated as if Ouma’s yelling at everyone.
That isn’t to say that Shimono’s Ouma is never loud or excited: Ouma is a character whose moods and façades are all over the place, and therefore his performance requires a voice actor who can similarly change moods and intonation on a dime. Ouma is very much loud and haughty and deliberately annoying when he’s supposed to be, but his voice is also low and ominous at other points when he’s trying to be scary. And again, it’s soft and hesitant in places where he’s considering divulging some of his information, or when he’s insisting that all the things he does are for everyone’s sake, because he cares about them and doesn’t want anyone to die.
These moments feel so much more genuine in the Japanese version of the game--because they’re meant to be. As fantastic of a liar as Ouma is, it’s much easier for us, the player, to tell when he’s lying on a re-play, knowing the information from chapters 5 and 6 that we do, and looking at cues like his sprites (often his blank-faced ones) and, yes, his delivery of certain lines.
This probably sounds like me just gushing about what a fantastic voice actor Hiro Shimono is, and in part that’s exactly what it is, but I want to stress that pretty much every single voice actor in the Japanese cast is just as fantastic and that they all do their jobs incredibly well. With all that gushing out of the way, I’ll move on to talking about some of Ouma’s actual speech tics and the way he refers to other characters.
Like most things about him, Ouma’s speech patterns are sort of an interesting mix and even seem a little contradictory at times. He uses the very masculine pronoun “ore” (オレ), but he also refers to nearly everyone (with only a handful of exceptions) by their surnames and the much more childish honorific “-chan” (i.e. “Saihara-chan,” “Akamatsu-chan,” “Amami-chan,” etc.)
The use of “-chan” is very interesting. Honorifics in Japan are extremely complicated and tend to mean different things depending on who is using them. Typically, “-chan” is seen as a very feminine way to refer to someone else, commonly used in close-knit friend groups among school girls.
There are, of course, a few notable exceptions to this however: often times, middle-aged or elderly people will call a child “-chan” regardless of gender, as a way of showing they find them cute and endearing. And sometimes, people will use “-chan” to refer to other things they find cute, such as pets, or even to refer to themselves in a sort of informal, tongue-in-cheek way.
The fact that Ouma uses “-chan” as an honorific to refer to nearly everyone in the game stands out quite a lot: by and large, boys don’t use this term to refer to other boys. Using “-chan” to refer to anyone you’ve just met or don’t know very well is already somewhat frowned upon, but a boy using it to refer to other boys is especially rare. This helps set Ouma’s character up as someone who is both incredibly casual and informal with others (not to mention, you know, quite coded). Considering childishness and lightheartedness are traits Ouma values, and how much emphasis is put on him having “a very innocent, childish streak that’s hard to hate,” it makes sense then that he would talk like this.
Not counting Monokuma and the Monokubs, the only characters who Ouma doesn’t refer to with “-chan” are Gonta and Kiibo, who he simply calls by name. This also says some interesting things about his character.
Gonta is easily the character who Ouma interacts with the most often, as well as the charater he hurts the most in the end. Ouma’s choice to exclude Gonta from his usual way of calling people is, I think, a testament to how much Gonta really wanted to be friends with him, even if their friendship was never exactly on equal footing.
Meanwhile with Kiibo, I feel the choice to exclude him from his usual way of addressing others is indicative of how much Ouma tried to remind himself that Kiibo “wasn’t human,” and therefore how suspicious he found his presence in the killing game. We know Ouma suspected Kiibo and likely even had an inkling of his role as the audience proxy/camera in the game, due to how Kiibo’s picture is one of the only others set aside on his whiteboard besides Saihara’s, with the word “weird” written next to it (he also clearly guessed about the cameras after Gonta’s line in chapter 2, as we see from how he commissioned Miu for the bug-vac).
Ouma clearly enjoys teasing Kiibo a lot, and their banter reads very much like a manzai comedy duo; I feel like Ouma often tried pushing himself to remember that Kiibo “wasn’t human” on purpose in order to not get too attached to him or too distracted from his goal of ending the killing game. I don’t think Ouma’s decision to exclude Kiibo from the way that he very particularly referred to most of the rest of the group was just an accident or a coincidence.
Honorifics aside, Ouma also refers to several characters in interesting ways. He often uses “daisuki na ___-chan” (大好きな) to refer to some of the other characters, a phrase which more or less equates to “my beloved.” He uses this phrase with Saihara more than any other character of the game, but there are a few other instances where he does use it with Amami, Momota, and (if I’m remembering correctly) Kaede. Pretty much every single instance where the localization put, “because I love you” or “because you’re my favorite” whenever Ouma was talking to Saihara was usually a point where he would specifically call him “my beloved Saihara-chan.”
In chapter 4 during the scene where Ouma is alone in the parlor of the VR world, he also specifically, exclusively refers to Saihara as “suki ni natta hito” (好きになった人), literally: “the person I fell in love with.” This line was changed in the localization to, “when there’s a person I like,” which is more or less literally correct--however, the phrase “suki ni natta” is much heavier and more loaded with explicitly romantic implications than “suki” would be on its own, as it’s often used in Japanese love songs and shoujo manga love confessions.
Worth noting in my opinion is the fact that this is the exact same phrasing Maki uses to describe her romantic feelings for Momota. Since Maki’s feelings for Momota are considered canonically confirmed because of this, Ouma’s feelings should be considered equally canon, but a lot of people don’t know this because, well, it’s sort of been lost in translation.
And now, on to the fairy line! Ouma calls himself a fairy in chapter 3, when he pops up in the middle of Saihara and Korekiyo’s discussion of the katana in Korekiyo’s lab. Full of enthusiasm, he decides to touch the sword and examine it for himself; Korekiyo starts to object, but Ouma interrupts and says:
“Come on, it’s not a big deal! I’m like a fairy, so it’ll be fine!”
I’ve always really loved this line and thought it was super adorable, both as a nod to how fairies aren’t supposed to be able to touch steel in most fae mythos, as well as the fact that fairies tend to also have a love for mischief and pranks and lies. The localization apparently didn’t like it so much though, because this line is simply changed to, “Come on, would I lie to you?” instead.
One final thing I can think of as far as Ouma’s speech tics go is that his laugh in Japanese is romanized as “nishishi” instead of “neeheehee,” as this is closer to the Japanese onomatopoeia for the sound horses make--but I actually don’t mind this localization change at all! “Neeheehee” definitely looks a lot closer to the word “neigh” and helps capture that horse joke in a way that I feel like western players can more easily understand.
All in all, while I still definitely feel people can like and enjoy Ouma’s character from playing the localization alone, I still stand by my opinion that listening to the original Japanese voices helps give a much better picture of how the character was intended to come across, and really shows how much depth Hiro Shimono put into his performance. He’s quoted in the official ndrv3 artbook as saying that he believes Ouma is someone who’s actually “really meek if you take away his strong wish to outwit everyone” (credit to @kaibutsushidousha for the art book translation), and I think this interpretation of Ouma really shows through in so many of his lines.
Thank you both for the really fun questions! I hope I could provide some more interesting information about Ouma and the translation!

i wanna know about the sonic cartoons!!! i have seen clips of some and i was funny i wanna know more >:]
(but im going to sleep now, ill read it tomorrow lol)
omg sleep well bestie! i will tell you all i know about the sonic cartoons
so! the first sonic cartoon was the adventures of sonic the hedgehog (1993). it was very. strange. very 90s american cartoon. none of it had anything to do with the games - which, fair enough, the games barely had any plot at this point. i dont know much about it, as i never watched it, but it was famous for a) sonic’s catchline of “i’m waitingggggggggggg” which can be incredibly grating and b) introducing the idea that sonics favorite food is chili dogs! the brazilian dub also had sonic saying “meus jovens!” (”young men!”) a lot. i dont know if this was in the english version but it was really funny to me because sonic you are 12 who are you calling a young man. the second sonic cartoon was titled just sonic the hedgehog, but it’s more commonly known as sonic sat.am, which stands for sonic saturday morning, as it was a saturday morning cartoon. it was surprisingly dark! i watched it as a kid and don’t remember much about it, but man i was scared of robotnik back then. obviously i didnt watch it as it aired but ! whatever. at the same time sat.am was airing, there was also sonic underground, which is the weirdest sonic cartoon ever in my opinion. why? well my good friend, the plot of the show was that sonic was a long lost prince who had a twin brother and sister (they r triplets) and they need to save their mother, queen aleena hedgehog, yes that is her full name, and you’ll never guess how they plan on doing this. they’re going to save their mother with the power of rock. i literally love sonic underground so much i am not joking i unironically recomend it just because of how batshit it is and also the theme song fucks, go listen to it its really good. then there was the sonic anime, sonic x. sonic x is most remembered for being the only one of the sonic cartoons to directly adapt storylines from the games, mostly sonic adventure 1 & 2 and sonic heroes, but its also remembered by the theme song: gotta go fast. yes, if im not wrong, this is where “gotta go fast” came from. the 4kids dub for sonic x sucks ASS but the brazilian version was based off of it and im extremely emotionally attached to it. no joke, i would wake up early on weekends to turn on my sonic x dvds - which i still own btw. its genuinely such a charming show even if season 3 is kinda Strange. if you get the chance, i definitely recomend it! though, its better to watch it subbed for the story, but watch it dubbed for the funnys. and the last sonic cartoon, arguably the funniest, most iconic, most fan-favorite sonic cartoon: sonic boom. the sonic boom games were....not the best. but the cartoon? the sonic boom cartoon is a fucking MASTERPIECE. the jokes are the funniest bits ive ever seen in a kids show, the voice acting is incredible in every language ive seen this show in, and the animation - while not outstanding - definitely has a charm to it. i dont know if its on netflix worldwide, but i watch it on netflix all the time - it is so fucking funny, genuinely. the “sonic boom out of context” comps do it justice because the context is usually just as batshit.
and thats the history of sonic cartoons! they are all so very near and dear to my heart.
#klavier-gavins-lesbian-boyfriend#milk.mail#bestie you have no idea how much i wanted to talk about these cartoons

Now that I’ve managed to see 3 English dubbed episodes of NTOB here are some thoughts because I gotta, they just released Clumsy Not Clumsy on the US (I had to use a VPN btw in the UK) Nickelodeon site
So far I think the majority are … ok. Kind of amateur voice acting tbh but not the worst in the world.
Hefty and Brainy I think are mostly in character for their voices, I was a bit nervous hearing Brainy’s in the promo but the more he speaks the more I like it :) Papa I was very worried about hearing his promo but it’s alright honestly, not the worst. Lazy I only heard a bit of too and it was low but again, could be worse.
Smurfette and Blossom are cute! Grouchy I like too, the rough voice really suits him. I like these ones. I also heard exactly 1 (one) line of Farmer and am already in love. He has to speak more before I make a full judgement however I think it might be my fave there was just something sort of adorable about that one line I’m so mad at myself this is probably favouritism but it was cute idc 👋🏼 Just the way the voice descended on the “Clum-ZEe” <3
As for voices I dislike, annoyingly, it’s Handy and Clumsy. The irony of those two being some of my favourite characters. Handy’s voice was just … ack slightly bro-ish? Like it’s somewhat indistinguishable from Hefty at times and honestly doesn’t have the vibes I imagine from Handy, I feel Handy suits slightly higher pitched, excitable voices not low gruff ones but I digress, it might grow on me. Clumsy sounded like Lord Sammunmak from Sam & Max. That’s all I have to say. That’s all I can hear. It’s very feminine, which isn’t a bad thing persay but has completely lost his accent :(
Nervous about characters like Poet, Tailor, Painter had one line in one episode so he better come back or else but yeah!! Fun but honestly the French dub is winning voices wise

Let me preface this with voice actors aren't paid enough, and accessibility is important to me, especially in and with popular media.
Idk if anyone has mentioned this, and at this point i'm a little too afraid to ask, but it has come to my attention that squid game is dubbed . . .
And it has just never occurred to me that you could dub a drama? Like some poor schmuck (and trust me, i've listened to this part and only this part, the guy did not know who he was dubbing at all) had to do voice over work of Gong Yoo.
I cannot imagine. Let alone the rest of the cast (who are all now big names, and some of whom were well known enough before), but Gong Yoo, whose only there for a bit part . . .
If you want more examples, I'm going to make a complete list based on the US Kdrama catalog on Netflix under the cut. Along with my first reactions of course!
A Korean Odyssey: Not in English, but Cha Seung Won in Spanish is pretty spectacular A Love So Beautiful: I guess I just find Spanish more charming. Or I can't tell how badly it fits because I don't it as well. Arthdal Chronicles: Song Joong Ki will be a theme here today. He sounds fine in Thai. Kim Jo Won sounds a little strange. Crash Landing Into You: The Hindi cast seems to be having fun! There are other options to watch as well. D.P.: First of all, please watch D.P in its full. Also, Netflix why? Why this drama? The translations are a little poor in my opinion. I was goign to say the voice actign is decent, but by the next scene, I changed my mind again. Extracurricular: If I don't look at the screen, the English acting hurts a little bit less. Hello Me!: Welcome back to Spanish. And this time I know more actors, and my brain is more confused. Hospital Playlist: And now it's hurting again . . . A lot of the voices don't fit for me It's Okay to not be Okay: So, these ones fit a bit better for me. But they still obviously don't fit the mouths. And at least they got someone with a deep voice for a deep voiced actor. And they aced some of the casting of the women. Itaewon Class: And we're back to a struggle, this time in Japanese! Kingdom: I'm not sure how I feel about the accents. Oh wait, I know how I feel: bad . . . pretty fucking bad. Also, there is no real English equivalent for the language difference that you have here between ancient and modern Korean Kingdom: Ashin of the North: the first was in English, this is too. And we are still doing the accents. Love (ft. Marriage and Divorce): And we are back to Spanish, and confusion Love Alarm: Dubbed over giggles hurt me just a little bit. So does romance just on the whole. Lovestruck in the City: Ha Jiwon and Kim Minseok and Ji Changwook are all . . . a lot. I will defend So Joo-yeon's dubber, just because she sounds adorable. Mad For Each Other: Yeah, idk at this point. They are all blending together, and the Thai (no English again) is sort of just flowing through me without making any impact. Man to Man: Good luck casting decent voices for any of these guys. Good fucking luck (Spanish here btw) Mine: it all just passes like a spring shower across my brain (this time in portugese) Move to Heaven: this just reminds me that I want to see this show. And also they decided to go hella young with the voice of Tang Joon Sang Mr. Sunshine: I wonder if Spanish can handle the period language any better than English? My First First Love: Boy we can't find anyone to handle the deep voices of some of these Korean actors huh? My Holo Love: I cannot handle Chansung in English here . . . or, surprisingly Choi Yeo Jin. My Only Love Song: Some more period Spanish for you, if that is a thing that you apparently need in your life. My Runway: This show is way too unknown to have a dub? Why does it have a Spanish dub? Navillera: I wouldn't expect Spanish and ballet to go together, but okay. Also watching someone get murdered at billiards is always great. Nevertheless: All the Spanish and Portuguese has no effect on me any more at this point. Record of Youth: For the first time, there are two Chinese options. Can I tell that there is a difference? Yes. Can I tell you what it is? Absolutely not. Run On: More options of romance in Spanish and Portuguese. I'm sure there is a joke here to be made about translators. Sisyphus: Here's that good confusing shit again! Park Shin Hye is acting her heart out, and the voice actress . . . is not totally failing, so that's a nice new change. Though I could see it getting worse. So Not Worth It: This is some meta shit. Native English speakers, speaking Korean, dubbed over in English. Also . . . Youngjae. That's all I will say. Start-up: We are back to Mandarin, but still feeling those same feelings. Stranger: Just Spanish, so lucky Spanish speakers I guess. Sweet Home: Horror is always best in it's original language. Fight me on it honestly. The King: Eternal Monarch: My dreams of Lee Minho in English are dashed, but at least there is Hindi! School
Nurse Files: This show is weird enough in Korean. I don't need to hear them say it in English too. Vagabond: If you didn't like Lee Seunggi in Spanish, then why not Portuguese, Thai, or Mandarin? Vincenzo: IN THE FIRST EPISODE SONG JOONG KI SPEAKS SPANISH AND THEY LEAVE THAT IN BUT DUB OVER ALL HIS KOREAN IN ENGLISH. WTF!!!!!!!
What a way to end y'all: confused and battered. I did this so you don't have to!

I WATCHED GOOD OMENS IN FRENCH SO YOU DON’T HAVE TO
and it wasn’t that bad. Here are my thoughts, barely edited as I wrote most of them while watching the show.
EP 1
OK i like god’s voice so far
possibilité d’embarras gastrique is a good formulation, I wonder if it’s the same in the book ( I think I kinda need to read it in french now...)
aghghdhgs « primo-délinquants »
of course subtitles don’t match the audio for a variety of technical reasons but when you get things that have very different underlying meanings i find it… not good This one about Crowley being evil / a demon : subtitles : « c’est ton travail » - « it’s your job » audio : « c’est dans ta nature » - « it’s in your nature » i mean dang
crowley sounds like a little shit asking az about his sword
« T’AS FAIT QUOUA » - he just loses his shit (kinda giving me some le coeur a ses raisons vibe)
ok crowley sounds very nerdy when he tries to explain that he took down the phone network, i think i actually like this voice acting
ligur sounds… very suave (im a little ill at ease)
crowley getting called mon chou by satan freddie mercury is a thumb up from me
i see the part where aziraphale speaks japanese wasn’t dubbed over and we can still hear michael sheen. it’s a bit disturbing considering french aziraphale has a higher pitched voice (and he sounds soooo much more anxious than sheen, give this angel a xanax )
“sandwich bœuf cresson” ( beef and cress sandwich ) deirdre really who makes this kind of sandwiches
im being reminded that the chattering nuns prepared little cut outs for their explanation about the antichrist switch… such dedication to useless crafts (it made me laugh on my first viewing and it’s still funny to imagine that some of them either ordered or built these things themselves just so they could make this two minutes long presentation for the most important act of their satanic nun careers)
retire-toi vil démon infernal, créature des abysses XD i swear az doesn’t sound even remotely convinced when he is saying the « get thee behind me foul fiend » line in french, it’s just too over the top for credibility, it sounds like it’s straight out of some super intense dnd session
they still can’t say bouillabaisse (which, like, weird because french, but still valid). nice touch is crowley couldn’t say soupe de poisson (fish stew) either and said poupe de soisson (sish ftew)
warlock mah boy how can you be a teenager and not like dinosaurs
c’est un dinosaure un nullosaure plutôt - apply burn heal
La façon dont warlock s’est exclamé « C’EST NUL » m’a fait penser au nain de naheulbeuk
the english version has nothing on french speaking aziraphale for the second hand embarrassement during the magic tour. it’s over 9000 i literally hid my head in my jumper when he was presenting harry the bunny. Horrible experience, 0/20, would not recommend
EP 2
oooh agnes has a lovely voice !
why is young newton having such a quality dub for the three sentences he has to say
dick turpin’s name is jesse james (tbf dick turpin is not known AT ALL in france, i discovered him reading good omens)
shadwell is pure chaos (as expected). No particular accent for him though, the chaotic energy was probably enough. Would have made me laugh if he had like, a chti or a marseilles accent.
aziraphale is so fucking stressed out by crowley’s driving i thought he was gonna explode
« tu es un gentil garçon » => « you’re a nice boy » said az to crowley DANG THAT’S SO INFANTILIZING AZIRAPHALE YOU’RE TALKING TO A DEMON FROM HELL NOT TO PINOCCHIO
ARGH FIRST MON ANGE OF THE SERIES i’m hit straight in the heart
anathema’s mom doesn’t have a spanish / latino accent at all when talking in spanish…. why...
dog being called toutou is definitely adorable (it’s basically « doggy » but way cuter imo)
tickety-boo has become ça gaze. that’s valid. it’s corny but i still use it unironically from time to time so ... i stan
EP 3
« je répands la fomentation » « i’m here spreading foment » « quoi tu fais des crêpes au froment ?????? » « what you’re making crêpes with wheat ??? » love the fact that we shoehorned in one more ref to crêpes
az called crowley mon cher camarade, unintentionnal communist propaganda ftw
« pas de repos pour les… bah, pour les bons » « no rest for the… good » – az was so deflated about the ineptitude he realized he was saying, he felt zero percent commited to his sentence
i was wondering how they would play aziraphale not being able to speak french in the bastille and they opted to have him stutter a bit and say to his executionner « excuse me i’m anxious » XD
« vous êtes le 999e aristo à mourir par mes soins. Mais vous êtes le premier en costume beige » « you’re the 999th aristocrat I’m going to kill, but the first one in beige attire » yeah i guess now that az isn’t english anymore his most noticeable feature is his cream aesthetic
« c’est au cas où ça tournerait en eau de boudin » « j’ADORE le boudin » => « in case it all goes pear shape » - the literal translation featuring food in french is « turning into black sausage water ». I don’t know what pear shaped inspires to english native speakers but the mere mention of boudin always make me giggle, it’s such a funny word and such a funny food
OH !!! no terrence rampa for the tv series, we’ve got anthony J. rampa. Rip terrence petit démon parti trop tôt :’(
« tu roules trop vite pour moi rampa » SERIOUSLY i know we can still infer « rouler » (here as in driving, but literally rolling) as a metaphor for their relationship but you could have said TU VAS TROP VITE that would have been so much better argh
has anathema got an emergency stock of potteries to break in case of emotionnal crisis ?
« Rampa, un démon très futé, il m’oblige à redoubler d’effort » « crowley, a very clever demon, he forces me to make double the amount of effort » oh so admitting you’re making an effort there aziraphale ? :))))))
dang i really want to know how shadwell said that major milk bottle died because not only did he die in combat but aziraphale’s reaction is a bit intense, it must have been quite a tale (this could be a crack fic prompt : «The Epic Tale of the Death Of Major Witchfinder Milk Bottle, by Sargent Witchfinder Shadwell» )
des sorcières et des phénomènes sorciéreux x)
CROWLEY CALLED AZIRAPHALE DUCON ?????? EXCUSE ME ????? #NotMyCrowley #CrowleyWouldNeverDoThat #CancelAnthonyJRampa2K20 => ducon would be an insult, the gathering of du and con, con being a very nasty but common swear word, and associating it with du- makes it extremely patronizing. it’s like « absolute pathetic digraceful moron +++ ». thanks i hate it *frowny face *
EP 4
l’apocalypse c’est pour aujourd’hui juste après le goûter : it could be translated as « apocalypse is scheduled for today right after tea time » except that « goûter » is not quite tea time but rather the little sugary snack kids take when they come back from school and that most adults drop out of (i haven’t and i’m sure az hasn’t either). thanks aziraphale for having exclusively food related notion of the time because tbh same
ligur has no right to be this sexy between ariyon bakare and his french voice actor that’s just not allowed
radio crowley’s voice vs french ligur’s voice, who has the sexiest voice : FIGHT
(jk french agnes nutter’s voice is by far the sexiest)
gender neutral doesn’t ‘quite’ exist in french but pollution has been assigned a female voice actress and masculine pronouns (i’m saying it doesn’t quite exist because officially we have no gender neutral, but it’s a serious wip among lgbt+ circles to the point where it’s started being used in a few medias)
hastur « en attendant qu’un plombier vienne » / « while waiting for a plumber to come » does hell have a special plumber unit or do demons have to call on human plumbers for their pipes damages ? Dang hastur having to call a human plumber for hell’s plumbery is another damn good writing prompt for a crack fic
Michael is called Michel in the subtitles but Michael in the audio *shrug emoji*
EP 5
to get a wiggle on has become « il faut qu’on se remue les fesses », literally « we need to shake our butts » like, yes, se remuer les fesses is a common expression to say « we need to act in order to get things done » but it really casts the image of people shaking their booty to some music and obviously crowley thinks the same Weirdly enough I have almost nothing to say for that episode. Sorry. But we’ve discovered most voice actors and actresses so far and no bit of dialogue really struck me as worth discussing or pointing fingers to mock it.
EP 6
« on va BROUTER quelques derrières » - « we’re gonna lick some butts » OK THIS IS UNQUESTIONNABLY FAR SUPERIOR IN FRENCH THAN IN ENGLISH you thought LICKING butts was good ??? you really thought that ???? AZIRAPHALE HERE SUGGESTS TO GRAZE BUTTS. TO NIBBLE THEM. TO EAT THEM. TO. MUNCH. ON. THOSE. BUTTS!!!! not just licking, guys. This is as serious step beyond licking. (oh yeah he should have said « botter » instead of brouter btw, which is really just kicking, fyi)
« moi je crois en la paix, pétasse ! » wow, language, pepper (fyi i think « pétasse » is far far worse than « bitch » even if it means roughly the same, pétasse is almost never used while bitch is rather common, so it’s a swear word +++)
Dagon sounds like she’s got a nasty cold. #GetDagonIbuprofen2K20
I can confirm that Crowley offers Aziraphale to not just stay at his place, but to move in with him. « tu peux t’installer chez moi si tu veux ». omg they were roommates.
Bad translation strikes again : i don’t know why, but the french dub doesn’t have the « tickety-boo » / « ça gaze » being referenced as Rampa / Aziraphale is being knocked down, which is… a real mistep. It was narratively significant and I’m quite mad the translators missed it.
The Jesse James explanation from Newt has become very nonsensical, instead of the neat and to the point pun « wherever I go I hold up trafic » we’re getting a circonvoluted « because it’s a crime to mechanic’s diligence ». I’m not judging that one too hard, I have no idea how to make it better, and that’s probably how it was translated in the book as well thirty years ago, but it definitely doesn’t have the same impact. On the other hand, it definitely IS a very bad joke that doesn’t even deserve a chuckle, so Anathema’s embarassement really matches the audience’s (aka mine).
OVERALL :
I wasn’t convinced by Crowley… I mean, Rampa’s voice at first, but as the nerdiness showed up it really grew on me. I still think that french dubs have often problems with some voice inflexions every here and there, and for instance in Rampa’s case it was when he was annoyed or frustrated ( at the Globe when complaining about horses and Shakespeare’s plays that aren’t comedies, and also when discussing Azirphale’s magic tricks, it’s like… there is a step between having the right amount of grumpy complaining and overdoing it that is overlooked. It’s overacted, it should have been a bit quieter imo. I don’t mean to criticize voice actors too hard either but as an audience watching french dubs this is a very recurring problem and it always feels off to me. It’s actually one of the main reasons I avoid french dubs whenever possible.)
I have a hard time judging Aziraphale’s voice dub because it clashes so much with both the idea I had formed with it when I read the book and Sheen’s delivery that I just… kinda filtered it. It was too high pitched for me, and too anxious (though for this last point I must admit it could be funny at times, but I’m not fond of this character portrayal). The rest of the cast was rather good, nothing to complain about. There wasn’t anything stellar either, but everything that needed to be conveyed was and it was professionnal. It was also very homogeneous, no voice really struck me as being way too bad or way too good compared to the others, so it was really consistant.
So I don’t have much to complain about overall despite a few wonky translations here and there, BUT there is one thing I felt very robbed of : Crowley calling Aziraphale « mon ange » happens only once, when giving a lift to Anathema, and I’m almost certain they translated it that way because otherwise the joke about Anathama mistaking them for a couple wouldn’t work. So, they were forced to make it that way. The rest of the time Crowley calls Aziraphale « l’angelot », and despite being literally translated by « little angel », it feels sarcastic more than anything else ( the « L’ » in front of « angelot » is part of the reason why, it creates some distance, the other reason being that this word in itself has a very corny vibe and people being affectionnate to each other wouldn’t use it as a term of endearment). So, that’s a shame.
I like the English dub much much MUCH better than the French, but the french wasn’t nearly as bad as I was expecting it to be. The voice actors and actresses were quite good, the dialogues mostly faithful and endearing despite a few really missed steps. It really had its moments. Props to brouter des derrières, that one was fantastic.

SuperM as Subs
↪ A/N. UGH these guys have me fucking spiraling. very excited to bring you this, please indulge 👀
○ warnings ⚠️ 18+, dom/sub, kinks galore, gender-neutral dom!reader
3.5k words | bullet points | this is all over the place there is so much to say i—
⌈ ten
— motto: kitten has ‘ten’ in it, but so does intense.
wowza honey
best choke out you’ll find
the stamina, too, oh lord. ten can handle a lightning fast riding without blowing up in two minutes
all while you choke him
with a waist harness on and ankles bound
bondage looks so good on him; he’s flexible and enduring. imagine a hogtie... art.
such a beautiful man.
literally, rope marks, imagine that
we need to talk about his pain threshold as well there
things that have other guys screaming are a mere tickle to him
i can’t emphasize enough how lucky you’ll be. this fella does not have to be trained much. experience? abundant. talent? more than vast. he knows precisely how far he can go with what kind of kink. that is invaluable.
and now, the most mind-blowing part. stress: he encourages you to take it all out on him. in his mind, that’s an extra treat and a promise he gets it raw how he loves it.
your satisfaction is his fuel, as is seeing you unwind.
the whole progression from heavy beginnings to breathless ends
the boy needs you to go, for the lack of a better word, buck-wild
so yes, ten is your number one (pun intended) address for all things messy. he asks you to hatefuck him, you spoil him with it.
the sheer masochism of him
are you kidding me
listen i’m not a fan of the sin concept but in this case... you can sin all you want with him
tl;dr: angry sex is his thing. strong emotions. guts will be rearranged.
about the elephant in the room: yeah, this guy can bust some extraterrestrial, dazzling, sexy as hell moves
that means one thing. contortionism. you can bend him into every position you desire and fuck him like that. he’s petite but don’t worry. your babe’s strong
in fact, you can sit on his face and get one ferocious rimming daily
things will get wet wetter wettest
surprise surprise vice versa he likes his own ass filled with plugs and vibrators
the type that buzzes him into a delirium while you slap him. with his neck turning red and those pretty almond eyes going wide.
they do hold the universe. he’s just so enthralling.
btw. talking about toys. having a fleshlight ready to make him moan and ruin his orgasm is a veeery good idea.
chances are you will draw cute english or thai interjections from him
in return, you can call him your prince and kiss him all over for aftercare. he’s no different, thinking of you as someone figuratively and literally noble to him. he’s thankful you fulfill his greatest sexual dreams. it’s true, you’ll really worship each other.
he’ll do his little mona lisa smile and doze off in your lap...
sub!ten is just priceless okay
10/10
i need a moment
⌈ kai
— motto: local strip club found bankrupt.
oh mY GOD nini
he knows how it’s done
did he go to sub school or something
you’ll find him at the stove around 6:30 AM in his apron
making you breakfast pretty much butt naked otherwise
flustered and sexy butler kim right at your service
looking very sculpted
dancing a little, as usual, he’s getting into it
in other words, you’re sure to get those eggs fried well
now, besides his skimpy clothing and waiter allure
kai as a submissive is almost definite to be an epitome of organization. he’s just good at it. period. lube and protection are always in the house.
you do your part doing maintenance for toys and cracking the occasional whip but really i mean... as the great oh sehun once said... never don’t mind about a thing when jongin gets the chance to put something in order
so lean back — kai is a service sub. he’s the type who wants to break a sweat for you
and have that very visible because he doesn’t own clothes anyway. well, well.
something more about organization
fucking according to a schedule sounds about right
you have it all planned out with a special calendar book just for that purpose
but don’t believe he’ll be boring and hyper-structured beyond that
kai is the precise opposite of dull as a lover but that’s a huge duh
he has both the acute sense of bashful romance and strong erotic feelings that come with a regular eyebrow wiggle
he likes to provoke the wild animal in his partner
reckless abandon
kai is 100% guaranteed to make you let out the beast. he enjoys feeling you go all out and grip him, pin him. everything hands-on is good.
grinding and gyrating is always part of sex. hell, even floating and flying. fuck gravity.
you need a certain level of dexterity. and hey if you don’t, you will pick it up from him in a solid minute
what i’m trying to say is that it won’t happen that the two of you rub against each other in the sheets like two blocks of wood (even when going into aftercare!). it will be fluid, ever-moving, energetic right and left with the mattress creaking all over the damn place
sex with jongin is one thing for sure: fucking fast. he won’t mess up his tempo if you know what i mean. the two of you will be thrusting and moaning until complete fatigue sets in
he whines a lot i’m telling you
it’s the surefire way to know kai is into it, being genuinely vocal is one of his best qualities as a sub
besides handling any rough pace
this guy will have you sneaking into his gym room and have a quickie on the next best workout bench
and lord knows what else.
the bathroom is another destination. wet!kai, the yearning romeo, is an image you won’t forget
prepare to get your hands on all of that
he’s gonna melt right into ya
and that is sub!kai for you
⌈ taeyong
— motto: vanilla? hardly heard of her.
to use an nct pun: the options are— limitless.
and another: you’re signed up for a... long flight.
and you’re gonna be the: boss
who gives it to him
and i’m warning you
he’s shy about it but
taeyong is simply insatiable. take his kinky reputation at face value.
what doesn’t he do
the softest softcore (feathers to tease him) to the hardest hardcore (edge play, hallelujah), the whole spectrum without any efforts for transitions
so you guessed it, a normal bedroom really won’t do.
neither does a standard dom
but since you’re knee deep into taeyong — go figure, you’re reading this — news flash you likely aren’t one
plug in all of your toys and cameras for date night. he needs his good dose of lube-dripping fantasy, homemade with a bunch of latex thrown into the mix
yeah i know that will escalate quickly
he wears it well i’m telling you
and also greatly enjoys you donning it for friday evening
it will frustrate him to the max which is a sight to see indeed
no other sub in super m gets harder boners over latex. that’s how it is. he’s just so drawn to the material and how much authority it gives you in particular
noona/oppa kink incarnate
hell, even daddy/mommy
he calls you that when you are forehead to forehead and catching your breath
because man these orgasms are going to get you so high, bodies gently intertwined
and very, very drenched
not just skin-wise
so let me underline this
your dear taeyong, no matter how innocently he can blink at you, gets his daily nutrient intake from cum.
what fancy-schmancy protein shake is he interested in other than yours like literally none
put him on a leash together with baekhyun and you have two salivating, ultra dirty boys
so ready to please and swallow everything up
taeyong is a handsome handful
you’ll be horny 24/7
or 23/7 maybe because aftercare
where we revert back to adorable yong. he clings to you a lot, you nuzzle him all the time, the affection is off the charts
he’s pouty and sweet, smiling to himself
holding him tight gives him a big sense of security.
safe to say he wants everybody to know he belongs to you in terms of PDA, too
it’s not restricted to domestic intimacy and sexual aftermath
taeyong truly has the perfect ratio of freaky and soft
god worked hard on him
⌈ lucas
— motto: when bigger is better, things get wetter...
ready for take off are we
yukhei is one flirty crackhead you’ll love it
teasing will go back and forth
there might even be play fights and wrestling involved. messing around on sofas and carpets, you know the deal. things won’t get too rowdy, he’s being his 6′ baby self and you don’t want to use your whole bag of tricks yet vice versa
lucas eventually lets you win anyways
and acts like he’s lethally injured ffs
he’s an aquarius don’t come for him they roll that way
in comes the patient-doctor roleplay. yep that’s how the story goes
and you sure as hell get to take care of um
luke’s big lightsaber
alright
it’s throbbing a bit too much and needs medicine
so think of yourself as a jedi master training your disciple.
read: edging the living soul out of him.
rough handjobs are just perfect
as is going on a rodeo trip getting the guy to tame those bucking hips with a lil punishment here and there. and with punishment i mean tickling even when he is close to orgasm
uh-oh
wong yukhei is a cutie pie but he has just about a bucket of cum for you spilling all over the place
he might get a lil embarrassed about it, that’s the sweetest thing
cleaning it up will be his greatest pleasure
so
ready for subby lucas yet?
he’s juicy
so what else do we have...
(besides that he sounds like harry styles is dubbing him and that voice is going to turn you on so hard)
if his dominant doesn’t have an ounce of a muscle and biting kink that’s, how to put it, a missed opportunity
just licking him and leaving marks everywhere just has to be the biggest feast in history. you have him parade around sleeveless just to see the hickeys on his arms.
and you don’t have to be frugal. it has to scream mine mine mine. yes, xuxi has some arm sensitivity going on. he needs your mouth on him doing chaotic stuff that leaves his jaw hanging open. to the point of you eating your brunch off his chest and shoulders.
there i said it
breakfast with yukhei is cancelled. it’s breakfast on yukhei
as for positions: things are usually more chill and standard. just how much missionary will there be, you’ll lose count. he’s good at it. lucas has the condensed passion of ten people, it will be more arousing than you’d think. it’s also a good pause to your usual activities, you both get a chance to um take a breath
if he feels cocky, wong brathei likes to lift you up during sex and here we go again with a staring contest... which ends with a bright smile and kissing
what did you expect
always remember this one thing. in his big himbo brain only one thought floats around and that. is. his. love. for. you.
a whipped boy
he’s irreplaceable.
patient xuxi reports speedy recovery
⌈ mark
— motto: good boys go to heaven after debuting a couple times more
sirs and sirettes, mark lee.
what did you think the “m” in super m stands for? mario, man, massive, market, model?
nope
SuperMark is what keeps the planet spinning
now here it goes
let’s get one assumption out of the way first
you’d think he fucks how he talks but you’ll be surprised
everything’s slow slow slow
the pace is very casual for someone who raps and thinks that fast
mark is just too friggin’ cute
a blushy cupcake
innocent and always curious what you’re up to
just perfect for all sorts of gentle dominance
you can reassure him when he gets nervous which happens every now and then
and put him into soft sweaters and blankets when he feels cold
maybe even building a pillow fort and just caressing him ad nauseam literally for minutes on end.
tousling his hair would be adorable beyond belief
the same goes for giving him cheesy pet names
or feeding him sweets
you can bet chocolate is his favorite.
but it’s not just all about pampering him
keen how he is you can expect a lot of gestures of attention from mark, like carefully selected presents and foot massages
there’s a real gentleman at your hands.
a gentlemark
he might have come up with that himself
you bet there will be lots of humor involved mark just can’t do serious sex
his intellect is yeahhh... superhuman
as much as his heart is squishy for you.
it’s hard out there. this world is tough
but mark is a safe haven to return to and have wholesome hours in bed with
30% sex, 70% aftercare.
you think that’s impossible? look into his puppy eyes and tell me all you’ll do won’t be spooning
it’s an art form and mark is just too inviting not to do a brush stroke on the canvas.
and after you’re done spooning things are back to more caressing
a smooch left, a smooch right
for the 30% he might need a bit of outside support because his inner perfectionist compels him
so he’ll text johnny at 4:30 in the morning with urgent questions
because his mind is racing and he promised to wake you up with a set of spicy stuff
sex veteran johnny will calmly explain it to mark but also keep it short and simple
because man how early can someone text you
and mark appreciates a crisp how-to that he won’t forget
even when you are chest to chest feeling each other’s breath and his brain almost shuts down
at the end of the day...
you say hey canada lemme get my hands on those big thighs of yours and ding ding his pants are off. he responds so easily to guidance
and his dancing skill always helps to get groovy with you
so
bust down markiana
you’re that bitch and you know it
⌈ baekhyun
— motto: you and me, relax and ch...oking
leader on the streets
screamer in the sheets
even the most peace-loving, noise-sensitive neighbors are going to dig the things that come out of his mouth as caused by you
just how good are his lungs
imagine him making audios for you. yes, god is real.
you just hit the lotto
the things his mouth can do
byun baekhyun is a synonym of oral fixation when will merriam webster admit it
if there’s one person in super m who can nail the picture perfect drooling ahegao face without hesitation it’s him
he will pleasure you with his tongue so vigorously
that level of spit blowing will haunt you
and the slurpi—
THE NOISES. we can’t talk about the noises. nope, nope. the noises are not meant to be described to this world.
you’ll suffer from incurable lust once you picture it
you know what his voice can cause
that would trigger a mass hysteria
anyway. moving on.
baeks is the type to appreciate a mix of cheek-on-cheek cuddling and getting his brains banged out
you can toss him around, grab him by the hair, fuck him absolutely stupid
while also kissing his forehead and playing with the hair at the nape of his neck. as if he doesn’t want you enough already this will have baekhyun needy for so long
he’s the king of slutty behavior
and making both of you crack up with mid-sex jokes about who knows what, suho’s butt mole or something
he’s just too hilarious. on the other hand he likes being creative and concentrated
in his free time you’ll probably find him reading erotic stories, sketching sexy stuff (i.e., well, you) in a journal, or even a manual to the kamasutra. it gets him all hot and bothered to the point where he can’t stop being chatty about it.
baekhyun’s arousal always first manifests as a wave of words or texts
your part of the equation is distilling the essence of said texts and getting to work on that perky body of his
and praise him plenty. baekhyun loves a lot of verbal affirmations and you’re glad to shower him with it.
kink-wise: he really has a gazillion ideas to try
costumes, gags, whips, pet play, sounding, collars, semi-clothed sex, cock rings, suspensions, you name it
as the cherry on top, a three- and fourway could be part of your routine for sure.
that being said he might have a few dicks in him physically or mechanically because geez bacon loves fucking machines and dildos
he is 100% ready to embark on one hell of an anal odyssey
how much he can stretch out you can probably guess. and he’ll make jokes about it either way to turn you on
you’ll be certain to exhaust and stuff your lil’ darling to the brim but i’m telling you what you already know
he’s gonna be the happiest ahegao boy in the world
and throw peace signs when you take pictures of him fucked out
that’s byunbaek for you. one of a kind
a subby gem
⌈ taemin
— motto: 500 points to slytherin!
this is what you’ve been waiting for i know I KNOW
red carpets out for the sensual sub king and nation’s p.r.e.t.t.y. boy
the international bombshell blonde
a bdsm luminary
DEITY
now, listen.
some erotic feats are truly hard to execute
but there is always one guy who’s the exception
and his name is lee taemin
no matter how unrealistic or complex your imagination of sex with him is
with this man, most of it can become real
effortlessly
because he’s a) an open-minded lover b) rich enough to rent ten dungeons — per hour and c) closest to perfection we as a human race have ever come
taemin is a pro at bringing all kinds of your and his fantasies to life. that’s why it’s important that you sit down to talk about how your intimate encounters could look like every other week
primarily, as far as his taste is concerned
we’ve all heard about his tales of creepypasta romance
literally he’s been an idol for so long and still comes up with new baffling ideal type stories
so according to those
he wants to be run over by you and thinks that’s hot,,, but i say... we stick to flipping him over... like on a bed,,, no car involved
this pal is macabre you have to be an embodiment of the law to rein him in
police roleplay much. arrest this provocateur!
furthermore and on a lighter note
besides being jailed
lo and behold, chained up and decked out in lace, draped on a lip-shaped art sofa is how he feels the most in his element
add a mask and a corset
just how glamorous is he
this guy has mastered all techniques of drawing you in with the most elaborate seduction.
tremendous!
including dance: for your eyes only.
prepare to have your loins set on fire.
because within the 4 walls of your home his every move will be pure danger loaded with sexuality. it would be even more of a public menace than he already is when performed in front of a crowd
keep those handcuffs ready officer
because it is your mission to stop that guy
the more restraints the better
put five harnesses on him i don’t care as long as it contains him
and once that’s done
taemin likes to be stimulated and teased with you running silk fabric all over his body
he also enjoys you creating artistic pin-up-esque photography of him
with sultry eyes and puckered lips
and no worries. taemin will put his plump lips to good use elsewhere, too. all. over. the. place. servicing his dominant is an honor.
and those moans will be like a melody.
the literal only weak spot he has
is to kiss and tell. taemin gets carried away in conversation and feels pride when the topic switches to you. so... if you lick his earlobe and call him your slave, jongin knows the very next day and finds it very entertaining.
taemin won’t deliberately spill the beans in a group chat but one-on-one with a close friend? he’s too excited not to talk about your chemistry and lets some juicy details slip if he can’t control himself.
taemin requires a dom/me who’s definitely not insecure and wants others to know who’s boss.
on the flipside, if you enjoy voyeurism? he is your man. it’s a matter of perspective entirely.
so to speak — even his weakness is a strength.
that’s all you need to understand about him
in sum: you got yourself quite an ace
taem will press your number and you’ll have no sorrow in the world.
we truly are blessed by his existence

I have a dubbing question for you, that does not pertain to SPN at all, but in fact stems from personal frustration watching dubbed versions of movies (my family doesn't speak English), and I have in mind specifically Pirates of the Caribbean, where Jack in French doesn't even sound half drunk (rendering some jokes useless and stripping a lot away from the character imho). My question is: do voice actors watch the original work beforehand??? Do voice actors make... acting choices? Thanks :)
I’m very happy to answer all dubbing questions I can, so thank you for asking!
Ok, funny thing, I DO know the Jack Sparrow Mexican VA. He’s an adorable person and we had a nice interview in spanish with him last July.
Re: your question. I can’t talk about French dubbing, but in Mexico they dub while watching the original video. ALWAYS. there’s no “dub without video” not even in our own original animations. If they can’t see the original acting, they can’t put context to the lines, and more importantly, they can’t see the lips which, as I’ve said a lot, are important to Mexican dubs.
HOWEVER, sometimes they don’t have the time to watch it before hand. We lucked out in Pirates of the Caribbean LATAM because Mr. Ricardo Tejedo, who dubs practically ALL of Johnny Deep’s roles here, was also de the dub director so he could watch it many times and get the cadence right. Other times, it’s hard and so the actors depend on the translators to give them those notes and then it’s the fault of the translator if the jokes don’t land or the character loses some personality (This is why, btw, localization and improvisation MAY happen in comedies, sometimes, it is impossible to translate a joke)
I can think of an example when that happened in Mexico. Ranma 1/2′s dub had an INCREDIBLY talented cast, in particular, it was Araceli De Leon’s last role before she sadly passed away, and she killed it as Shampoo. EXCEPT the translator didn’t GET that Shampoo was bad at Japanese, and spoke with a broken accent, so they corrected Shampoo’s grammar to speak perfect spanish. And as Mrs. De Leon didn’t speak Japanese, she couldn’t know there was a broken accent and so, Shampoo’s lovely broken grammar was completely lost.
So I dunno what would be the french reason to cut Jack’s drunkenness (Some countries also have a thing about alcohol in children’s movies and that’s why Spaceship Yamato had “bottles of water” instead of sake), but it could’ve been a novice translator and a cast that couldn’t tell the difference between sober english and drunk english.
Voice Actors absolutely make acting choices. Sometimes, even just imitating the cadence of the OG actor perfectly is an acting choice. Sometimes, they have to choose between a perfect match and a cultural match. And sometimes, very rarely, the client gives them complete freedom and the end result is a completely new beast and now I realize I have to tell you all about the greateness that is Latam Top Cat followed by Mexican Count Duckula.
What is important to know is that truly good VAs are not just Voices. They’re Actors first and foremost, and thus, they’re not just reading lines off a script. They’re bringing their talent into it too. Sometimes we may not like what they did (Personally, and as much as I love Ruben Trujillo’s voice, I can’t watch Aladinn in spanish as I don’t think he managed to do a good Genie, but well, he had huge shoes to fill, and I don’t mean just Robin William’s, but that’s getting into Mexican Dubbing history), but they’re the result of acting choices or directing choices. But 8 out of 10? It’s acting choices backed up by what they watch in the video.
