Hey there! I just got back into Hetalia after almost 4 years of being free (rip) and I rediscovered your game through Kyokoon64's playthroughs! Can I just say I adore it so much? The characterisation, the story so far, the maps, the art, it's all so beautiful and captivating! You and your team did an amazing job! I'm not sure if you are continuing it or not, but even if you aren't, I want to thank you for making it. It's unironically got the best depiction of a greek character I have seen from a non-greek writer (indie or hollywood), and for that alone I am satisfied ♡
P.S. Unless it's a spoiler, I was wondering if you could tell us more about what's happening to his country and people now that Greece is gone? He's living his fantasy now, but I have a feeling Germany's words from the prologue will get him eventually in the worst way possible, greek tragedy style (heh)
Oh my gosh, that is so flattering to hear! I get insanely happy hearing that people love my interpretation of Greece. I'm glad all my research has paid off~ (I have an entire multi-page PDF analysis of his character) Greece is indeed living his best life in Olympus, but as for the real life down below? Well, his... Erm... Friends...? Would have surely noticed by now, and Germany's initial frustrations would give way to regret the longer he's gone. Especially once the population of Greece start to become listless and disinterested in their national pastimes without their representation here. But oh, indeed, Greece doesn't forget what both Germany and Japan has said to him. Hehe~ I'm so happy Olympus still brings people joy to watch, even if the progression for this project is pretty much at a standstill at this rate. I still have so many ideas for the game in terms of mapping, art and story beats, but simply no time to do it. One day the next chapter'll come out~ As a consolation in the meanwhile, here's a quick sketch of what the next chapter of his story shall entail!
(No, not murder, Thailand just has a very cool krabi-krabong sabre.)

Main series masterlist
Genyen awakens, sticky with sweat, an acrid taste in his mouth and a hangover lingering behind his eyes. He silently curses himself for not splurging the extra cash for a place with air conditioning, not that’d be sticking around long enough to appreciate it, but the humidity here is unbearable.
He fled to Thailand after clearing out the donations from the Buddhist centre, along with Jinba’s bank account. He has kept moving since arriving, never staying in one place for more than a week, it’s too risky to settle anywhere when he makes a living from robbing pretty, gullible tourists.
His grifting has taken him to Krabi, Pattaya City and Ko Pha Ngan. This week he finds himself in Pa Tong. No matter the city or district, the situation always plays out the same way; he dons his Buddhist monk robes, heads to the nearest beach and spins a pretty girl a line about how he’s left the monastery because he wants to experience a day in the life of a tourist. By nightfall he’s spilling himself into a condom inside of her, then rifling through her purse once she’s asleep.
He has no idea what possessed him to start tearing the ID pages from their passports. The first time it happened he’d found it as he’d rummaged through her handbag. He’d flipped to the back, curiosity leading him to want to look at her photo. Before he had time to think fully about what he was doing, he’d ripped it out, pocketing it along with her knickers and all the cash she had.
He has quite the collection now. He rolls over in the bed, draping a long, lean arm down the side to rifle through his duffel bag. Underwear of all colours, cuts and sizes is stuffed inside. He thumbs through the stack of ID pages; Sweden, Australia, South Africa, Canada.
Would be cool to have one for every country, he thinks to himself.
He pushes the passport pages and panties to the side, plucking out the wad of banknotes rolled up beside them and counts through it. Shit. Less than two thousand baht left. He’s only been in Pa Tong a few days, but partying all night, every night burns through money fast. He’s going to need to find another target today, or he’ll run out of cash.
After dragging himself out of bed, chasing painkillers with the dregs of the previous evening’s final beer, and showering, Genyen finds himself strolling the perimeter of Pa Tong beach. He is glad that his robes are relatively lightweight, the heat of the sun feels oppressive. He shields his eyes from the blinding rays, surveying the hordes of people soaking up the Thai heat.
That’s when he spots her. His eyes are immediately drawn to the curve of her arse, peeking out from a tiny pair of bikini bottoms as she lays face down. She’s immersed in a copy of The Secret. Oh, this is fucking perfect.
He saunters over to her and she immediately looks up as his shadow is cast over her. He smiles as her eyes widen in surprise.
“I’m sorry, I don’t have any cash on me if you’re looking for donations.” She smiles sweetly at him.
“Oh, I’m not here on behalf of Wat Suwan Khiri Wong. I’m actually trying to get away from that.”
“Really? And why is that?” She asks curiously, closing her book.
He settles cross legged on the sand in front of her. “I’ve dedicated my whole life to the monastery and practicing the teachings of Buddha. I’d like to know what life has to offer outside of that. I’m Genyen, by the way.”
“Genyen.” She repeats, eyeing him curiously. “Makes you sound important.”
He laughs softly. “It’s nice to be important, but it’s more important to be nice. You can call me Shawn, if you’d prefer.”
He spins her his entire lie and she falls for it. He tells her his mum passed away when he was ten, that his dad married a woman called Mary and when his dad then passed away just before Shawn was due to go to university, Mary had contested the will. She’d gotten everything, the house included. He went away to university, but had nowhere to go once he graduated, so he went travelling and ended up here, in Thailand. He was taken in by the Buddhist monks and renamed Genyen, which means ‘approaching virtue’.
She pays rapt attention, her face softening in sympathy for him, and by the evening they sit in a beach bar together, their knees brushing as she sips a strawberry daiquiri.
“So if you want to experience life outside of the monastery, why aren’t you drinking?” She says, playing with her staw.
“Better to take these things slowly, just talking to you today was a big enough step.” He lies. He knows better than to get buzzed. Drunkenness leads to sloppy mistakes.
He barely has to make an effort. Two more cocktails and her eyes are glazed as she leans in to kiss him. Her lips taste like rum and he kisses her back hungrily.
He follows eagerly when she leads him back to her hotel room. They make quick work of undressing each other. His eyes dart around the room, making a note of where she discards her bag.
It’s not long before she’s on all fours, his hands kneading the fleshy globes of her backside that he’d spent most of the afternoon admiring, as he snaps his hips against her. She clenches around him, warm and oh so tight. He can feel how soaked she is even while wearing a johnny and the sensation causes him to groan as he speeds up his movements.
She moans, arching her back, pushing against him and he slides a hand up the smooth skin of her back, grabbing a fistful of her hair, biting his lip at how this makes her squeeze him harder. She may be a dupable airhead who stupidly believes in the power of manifestation, but she is undoubtedly one of the best lays he’s ever had.
He isn’t sure if she comes, he doesn’t care. His grip on her hips is vicelike as gives one final thrust, shuddering as he pulsates and spends himself into the latex.
It doesn’t take long for her to fall asleep. He lays there, waiting for the sound of her breathing to deepen and even out. Once she starts to snore softly, he creeps out of the bed. He dresses before looking through the handbag he’d seen her drop to the floor earlier. He pulls all of the banknotes from her purse, pocketing them. No cash on you? Bloody liar.
Her passport sits on the vanity table and he grabs it, flipping to the back page. He smiles as he looks at her photo, illuminated by the moonlight that streams through the window. She looks so dorky, it’s actually kind of cute. He almost feels bad for robbing her.
He tears the page out, wrapping it in her discarding bikini bottoms, then pockets those as well.
Slipping out of her room, he lets the door click softly closed behind him, walking out into the balmy night air of Pa Tong. He was going to miss her. Well, he’d miss her air conditioning, that’s for sure.

A Modern Myth revisited
Thirty Seconds to Mars is currently on their Seasons tour and Jared Leto has been playing “song roulette” several times during the acoustic part of the show. True to the interactive spirit of all Mars shows, he asks fans for suggestions of old songs he used to play. His memory often proves a bit rusty, though, so it’s mostly been just the choruses and some vocalises - ah-ah-ahs, oh-oh-ohs.
But refreshingly, Jared Leto can still play the twenty-year-old song “A Modern Myth” from beginning to end by heart...
“A Modern Myth” was the first song ever played live off their second album A Beautiful Lie (2005). That was long before finishing and releasing the album. In fact, it was February 2004, about a week after he had wrapped shooting Alexander (2004).
There’s a review of a gig from February 21, 2004, at the Roxy in West Hollywood with quite favorable first impressions of the song and performance. It's an interesting glimpse into the band’s biography as well - Tomo Miličević was still a newbie; Shannon Leto was energized; Matt Wachter's input elevated their sound; the guys were close with Incubus, especially Mike Einziger who contributed here on a “Where the Streets Have No Name” cover.
But “A Modern Myth”, or just “Myth” then, had a special place in the set list. It was performed by a nervous Jared and a string quartet. Clearly a labour of love.
The concept of the duality of myth and reality as a song theme was completely contingent … wait, no, kidding! It was the central theme of Alexander!
Ptolemy: Alexander once said to me that we are most alone when we are with the myths.
And thus it was Colin Farrell’s number one theme, for a certain period of time.
It begs the question: was Colin Farrell at the TSTM gig in February 2004, at the Roxy in L.A.?
Probable, he was. He was also at the show of his 2003 fling Britney Spears on March 8. Hobbling on crutches, necklace with medallion, that contained Leto’s/Hephaistion’s lock of hair dangling around his neck (which it would for several weeks more), listening to AMM - I can easily picture it. Not even made up. Pendants were worn by both actors throughout the film shooting and beyond by Colin, while on crutches. Even when most of his other clothes would mysteriously fall off or were never put on, this thing stayed put. Dedication.
So here’s some slightly out-of-character New York Post gossip story saying Colin on crutches was outside the Roxy “the other night” and in a defensive mood ...
Which other night? Here’s the schedule of bands playing the Roxy between Colin’s return from Thailand - shooting wrapped 13/02/04 after which he spent some days in Krabi at a resort - and the date given here (12/3/2004). I think it boils down to two dates - if at all: Courtney Love or TSTM.
Wouldn’t he choose his actor buddy’s concert? After all this was the guy who had been portraying his loyal friend and lover, who had been closely working with him on a daily basis from August the year before until not even a fortnight before the concert date, who had planned something very special and novel for his stage return after a long band hiatus due to the film shooting, including a cover of U2, Colin’s favourite band, almost like a surprise, whose strand of hair Colin was still carrying around his neck.
However, eventually Colin took the necklace off and jetted off to Cape Town to shoot "Ask the Dust". The necklace was deposited at his home in Dublin. "A Modern Myth" was often played, in different emotional iterations. It remains linked to Alexander and Colin Farrell.

Three Clerks
Last week I tweaked my back. It hurt. A lot. As I recovered, I found that sketching with pen and pencil was less strenuous than writing on keyboard. So that's what I did.
Sketched characters from an adventure I am currently writing for Colin Le Sueur's We Deal In Lead. It began as a homage to Wisit Sasanatieng's tomyamgong western Fa Thalai Chon / Tears Of The Black Tiger.
+++
SHIN SUL SHAP, SHRINE CLERK 4 Grit 10 STR 10 DEX 10 HRT Switch (d4)
Face hidden by a broad-brimmed bonnet and veil. Patrols the lines of pilgrims; like a schoolmarm she thwacks anybody chit-chatting. Piety should be silent!
A waif snatches a lead token from her pouch, and bolts. A chase ensues. He begs your help. If Sul Shap finds him, she will sell him to captive takers.
+
Sul Shap is a clerk at the Shrine To The Headless Sun: a bare plaza; a marble pavilion; a golden man, with an ever-burning flame where his head should be.
The Headless Sun is patron saint of the Admiralty, whose laws now govern both Ocean and Sea. He was its founder. The kings of old captured and beheaded him. He overthrew them anyway.
+++
References for Sul Shap were basically Buddhist nun robes (mainly for the volume of fabric), plus an European bonnet.
Initially I'd imagined a conventional broad-brim hat---ie: her veil would be a cylinder around her whole head. But as I sketched I thought the bonnet made a more interesting shape? Also its rear was an opportunity to create a crest / halo of sun-rays. Religious iconography!
Alms bowl, because giving is a virtue. But the Headless Sun values ego-death, not asceticism---so colourful beads and gold amulets and pouches full of lead tokens (money).
+++
RIS SHAY NAM, RECORDS CLERK 2 Grit 10 STR 10 DEX 10 HRT Swung typewriter (d4)
In a wheelbarrow, pulled by a servitor, typewriter balanced on her belly, pockets filled with banana fritters. Greasy fingerprints on any document she works on.
Shay Nam thinks herself a moral soul. Will side with abolitionists and revolutionaries, with justice—until her own skin is at risk.
+
Shay Nam works at the Hibiscus Court. Princess Khur San, distancing herself from the old order, surrendered this palace to bureaucrats.
Clerks have filled its once-airy halls with shelves. By sympathetic sorcery, all contracts in the province manifest copies here. Rumour has it that this magic works both ways.
+++
This was my first sketch. In pain and bored I just started drawing.
No references, and it shows? Skirt and stockings and boots because these were the easiest for me to do. In my mind Shay Nam was an archetypal overweight NEET. Here she looks to be a sassy layabout. I like her better, now!
Also: a servitor is an empty body. Created when you ritually touch a shrine-stone to the Headless Sun---your soul is obliterated. What is left behind is mindless, hence the harness and reins.
+++
KHAN YUL MIN, COURT CLERK 4 Grit 1 DEF 10 STR 10 DEX 10 HRT Sabre (d8)
A university grad and former marine. But his townhouse sits below Rose Hill, on Merchant’s Row, beneath the old families' notice.
Yul Min means to change this. He has his eye on the Widow Gon. He will hire ruffians to waylay her palanquin—then swoop in, to rescue her. Elaborate theatre.
+++
Yul Min, like all these characters, live on the Sea of Sorrows, whose waters are literally the souls of the dead.
Roses always bleach within sight of it; to retain their colour they must be shipped in glass, then kept in arboreta—never once sharing air with the Sea.
Those who can afford red-rose gardens tend them on the south end of the city, where streets begin to climb Mount Go, in compounds walled like fortresses.
+++
Drew Yul Min last night. Had tabs open for "Thai traditional clothing" & "military uniforms 18th century" & "krabi" & "Vajiralongkorn".
Given my inspiration, I think the referencing of Mainland Southeast Asian material culture is appropriate. Maybe a little to obvious, though? Ie: the visual forms haven't been composted well, into new and more imaginative shapes ...
Still: very pleased with the proportions and details.
I liked how the hamsa-esque icon of the Headless Sun developed over the course of these sketches. I would not have discovered it, otherwise; it's one of those details, too small for words.
Drawing is an intrinsic part of the writing process, I guess!

Best Indian Destination Wedding Venues in Thailand
Thailand is one of the most spectacular and successful venues for your big fat Indian beach wedding. Thai beaches are among the best in the world and are immortalized in many Bollywood films. The perfect wedding destination can be found at luxurious resorts on white sand beaches or at luxury hotels.
Luxury resorts on white sand beaches or luxurious hotels make this the perfect wedding destination. Thailand has become a popular choice for Indian couples looking to have an International wedding thanks to its proximity to Kolkata and Chennai and its reasonable hotel rates. Thailand has hundreds of beautiful beach wedding venues that cater to Indian weddings with the Andaman Sea on the west and the Gulf of Thailand on the east. Krabi, Hua Hin, Phuket, Rayong, Pattaya, and Koh Samui are some popular destinations outside of Bangkok.
In recent years, Thailand hosts many Indian weddings, and today a destination wedding in Thailand can be made rather simple. Almost all wedding-worthy hotels in Thailand serve Indian food on request. While Thailand has better decor and flowers at the same scale, they are much cheaper than India. We'll help you get married in Thai paradise with the perfect wedding planner you hire!
Krabi
Ao Nang, Krabi is a popular wedding venue for Indian weddings in Thailand. It is the perfect backdrop for your wedding to be held on one of Krabi's small and wonderful islands with crystal clear water and limestone formations. Enjoy this almost private setting in the middle of the Andaman Ocean with your loved ones. Privately under the open sky, you cannot get closer to nature than this. Your big fat Indian wedding can also be held at Koh Lanta.
Phuket
Although Phuket is one of Thailand’s premier tourist destinations and the beaches of Patong, Kata, Karon, Nai Harn, and others are crowded with tourists soaking up the sun; there are still many calm and secluded beaches on Phuket that are ideal for a picturesque sundown Indian wedding.
Pattaya
At Pattaya, you can experience an unforgettable dream wedding on the beach. Enjoy a romantic sunset and the gentle lapping of waves on the white sand in this beautiful town 100 km away from Bangkok.
Bangkok
Bangkok, the capital city, welcomes more visitors than any other city in the world and it's easy to see why. From gleaming temples to bustling Chinatown and floating markets, Bangkok is an oriental paradise. Indian weddings in Bangkok are also a highlight because many hotels offer delicious Indian food. You can host your dream wedding in a luxurious five-star hotel, or at a boutique resort. You and your guests will experience the famous Thai hospitality.
Chiang Mai
Chiang Mai is northern Thailand's largest and most culturally prominent city.
Hua Hin
Because of its picturesque, serene beaches and charming gardens, Hua Hin is a popular destination for Indian weddings.
Koh Samui
My favorite is Koh Samui, which is famous for its turquoise waters. Although it is more difficult to get there than other destinations (especially since there is a ferry), once you are on the island, it is well worth the effort.
Khao Lak
Khao Lak is a peaceful resort destination in Thailand, just north of Phuket Island, on the scenic Andaman Seaboard. Three national parks surround this stretch of coast, which is surrounded by hills that stretch for miles. Khao Lak is an oasis of relaxation that combines cool tropical forests with scenic beaches.

Hello may I ask what happened to ewey? It's just many of my childhood toys were ripped from me by abusive family. I cannot find myself to replace them as I don't feel as they are the same. I tried to save some but couldn't. Do you have advice
Hiya,
Questions are welcome :) Though I may not be all that great at answering them, I'll try my best. Out of all my childhood toys, I only have 4 originals. Which I suppose to some sounds like a lot. In reality when you are someone who grew up adoring plushies and whose childhood revolved around them all, me and my siblings bonded over them, I was 16 and still playing with my siblings and our toys. Having 4 left is heart breaking when you know who you have lost and not by choice. Kraby was taken from me, actually two times before he was gone for good with my sibling saving him the first two times. One of which times my sibling bought him back from where he was donated to. I am the eldest of my siblings, so some of my toys were taken away as I was considered too old for them. Others were taken if I done something wrong. Then a large amount was taken when we moved and I ended up with a small room of my own, and the room was deemed too small for all my toys. I actually still remember when we moved to that house, I had all my toys out to get used to their new room and my cousin took me to a fair that was on at the time. When I came back, all my toys were gone. I literally left them all sitting and then they were gone. I never had a say in the matter and never got one again from that moment until I was an adult. I have spent years thinking, believing I am too old for them. I am not. No one is. If you love something and that makes you happy then it shouldn't matter how old you are, you should be allowed to enjoy your plushies without judgement from others, especially family. Life is hard enough. When I adopted Andre in March of this year, something changed within me and I realised I can have as many plushies as I want and no one can take them from me. I've experienced loss and ill family members and it made me realise life is too short to look back with sadness when I can look to the present and be happy with what I have now in the moment. I know it is hard, the childhood toys you once had are no longer there and getting another that looks exactly the same, doesn't mean it will take away the pain from the ones you no longer have. For me personally, I am getting them because of the memories their original once held and how much they meant to me and how they made me feel. I started with Silver, she wasn't one I had long in my childhood so didn't have an overly as strong bond with her than some of the others. When I got her, I felt happy and also kinda proud. I got a few ones I liked though never had before then I got Kraby. It is just who he represents and the memories, the good memories that make me smile. My only advice I can think of, is start with someone you didn't have the biggest attachment too and see how you feel when they arrive and go from there. Don't look at them as being the original, look at them as friends and how the original made you feel and how you can grow from having them in your life again.
I hope you have a great day and I'm sorry this is so long!

Kuala Lumpur
Forest Eco park in middle of the city.
We arrived to Kuala Lumper ( K L) after a short 1 hour 30 min flight from Krabi landing on the 6th April. Our pre booked AirBnB apartment was everything we could of hoped for, swimming pool, gym, games room and surrounded by hundreds of restaurants and necessities. We chose to stay out of the main tourist area and be close to a Jiu jitsu gym for the boys so Desa Park City fitted our needs. To our surprise Desa Park is also known for Hot Pots, parks, dogs and mermaids ( a new sensation where people dress up as mermaids and swim around in pools). Now these aren't your typical big dogs playing catch at your local park oh no these are little fluffy dogs often found wearing a nappy being pushed around in a pram and sometimes wearing full dress attire.
Lake Symphony water show KL central park
During our 2 month stay here we have enjoyed our favourite eatery hot spots like PV Manja, our local cafe where we enjoy our brunch most days. Brian and Jonny know our order and they make the best coffee / full english breakfast in town. Sushi Hero our local Japanese restaurant, high class food for great value less than $40nz for us all to feast like kings. Leo has loved our dinner's out at a local hot pot, although he does like to boss Rupert around telling him what to add to the cooking pot!
Finn celebrated his 10th birthday at Malaysia's largest water park Splash Mania, with over 40 slides this place was truly insane. We went on a weekday and didn't have to queue once, slides for all the daredevils out there including a 2 storey high vertical drop one where the floor beneath gives out and you drop into a loop, Leo went on this twice!
Black forest cake
During our stay the boys trained at Blueprint Martial arts under head coach Silvio Braga ( 5th degree blackbelt). They trained 3 days and week and enjoyed learning new techniques. Coach Silvio was used to training top athletes and was left to fill in for the kids coach who had left short notice. It was very interesting watching this dynamic and seeing his knowledge of over 35 years of BJJ was really special.
Blueprint Desa Park City
We had left home with a full wooden chess and backgammon set but found this was too heavy and had to leave back at Bottle beach, so we decided to look for some new travel games. We discovered Board games cafe a family run business that not only has the biggest selection of board games to buy that i've ever seen but a seperate place where you can play. The owner helps set up and explains the rules and his 9 year old daughter Rachel sometimes joins in, Rachel is one to watch out for she definitely out smarted us on more than one occasion. We brought some cool new games to play on the road like Bandito, Deep sea adventure, Dobble and Rat a tat tat.
Board Games cafe
KL had a lot of things to see and do. The Butterfly Park was a great day out surrounded by thousands of different butterflies flying close by and even landing on you. Leo had found a new Butterfly friend he named Nacho which stayed on his hand for the whole time we were there.
KL skyline luge( same company as the ones in NZ) special birthday treat from Nanny.
Superpark was an epic indoor playground with rock climbing, trampolines, pedal carts and lots more games. One of the rides im not sure qualified as overly safe where Finn had encountered his knee to his nose. Apart from that minor hiccup we had a fun day out to celebrate Finn's birthday, thanks Granny.
Batu Caves
Guarded by a monumental statue of Hindu deity Lord Murugan, the Batu Caves are a Malaysian national treasure. These limestone caves formed more than 400 million years ago harbour Hindu temples where dioramas of mythic scenes glow beneath stalactites. The 272 brightly coloured stairs draw you up towards the entrance of the temple as you pass dozens of monkeys perched on pillars and scurrying about, you catch your breath and take in the beauty. There are 3 main caves as you walk through and you experience the beautiful art work, sculptures and people offering up food/incense and flowers to their god.
Our 2 months spent in KL was just what we needed, a chance to slow down, stay put and just take it easy. We definitely want to explore more of Malaysia in the future but there's plenty of time for that. KL had so much to offer families with there endless activities which we definitely made the most of. The cost of living here is low which makes eating out for all meals a breeze and getting around with Grab ( uber) is so cheap. We have had so many fun times here as a family whether is was teaching the boys how to play a game of pool, water parks, ice skating or our daily swims in our pool.
Next stop..... Da Nang Vietnam

How to Plan for Your Thailand Trip (Stage Two) - Flights & Accommodations
youtube
How to Plan for Your Thailand Itinerary
In the first stage, we explored potential destinations and allocated days for each. Remember, your itinerary may differ based on your interests! Now, let's tackle the next crucial step: booking flights and accommodations.
The places you choose to visit and allocated days for each place may not be the same as me; you have your own needs and interests. However, what to do next should be the same regardless of your choices.
Start with Booking Flights
Start booking your flights immediately. If you don’t have your flights booked, do not book any hotels or activities. This is due to the fact that flights are always the most expensive and non-flexible part of the trip. You will always find hotels and tours later on, but that may not be the case for flights.
Price vs. Convenience: Compare prices across airlines, but consider factors like travel times, layovers, and airport convenience. Start with international flights first and then move onto local flights.
For our itinerary here, I would book the Toronto to Bangkok and back flight first, followed by local flights (Bangkok to Krabi and Phuket to Bangkok).
Start Booking Your Hotels or Airbnbs
Once your flights are confirmed, lock down your hotels or Airbnbs. Booking accommodations secures your home base for each stop and gives you peace of mind.
Remember, with your flights and hotels sorted, you've conquered the core logistics! The most important segments of your trip are done.
Last Word
I recommend booking all your flights and hotels 6 to 8 months before your trip. Early Bird Gets the Deal: booking 6-8 months in advance ensures better options and potentially lower prices. If you leave it for the last minute, you will lose better flights, seat selections, and accommodations.
In the next part, we'll dive into planning specific activities and sights for each location in your itinerary.

Who Jesus Is
Today's inspiration comes from:
Soul Fuel
by Bear Grylls
"'When I was growing up, Madonna once said, “Jesus Christ was like a movie star, my favorite idol of all.”1
Napoleon Bonaparte went further: “I know men, and I tell you Jesus Christ was not a man. Superficial minds see a resemblance between Christ and the founders of empires and the gods of other religions. That resemblance does not exist. There is between Christianity and other religions the distance of infinity.”²
And then there was novelist H. G. Wells: “I am an historian, I am not a believer. But, this penniless preacher from Galilee is irresistibly the centre of history.”³
There has never been a human quite like Jesus. He towers above us all in goodness and courage, in impact and influence. The greatest artists, leaders, and thinkers, all put together, are dwarfed by Him.
Yet Jesus did not come to impress us. He said He had come to save us, in total humility, as God come down among us. If He is who He says He is, and the Gospel is real, then this is very good news. He simply wants us to learn to reach out and trust Him to help and calm us, to forgive and restore us. If we are to live fully and empowered, then this has to be the first step.
So wherever you are with God — whether you are searching, are wanting more, or have turned your back and are walking away — this verse is truth:
The Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost. — Luke 19:10
Jesus wants us to learn to reach out and trust Him to help and calm us, to forgive and restore us.
Who Was Jesus?
At some point in life, most people find themselves asking this simple question. We all have to make up our minds, just as people did back when He was walking on earth. For them — and us too — there seem to be only three credible, possible answers:
He is out of His mind. (Mark 3:21) He is possessed by Beelzebul! (Mark 3:22) [He is] the Son of God. (Mark 3:11)
In other words, He was either insane, evil, or God.
I used to think, Couldn’t He simply have been a good teacher and good guy? But then I looked at His life and words. Do good teachers repeatedly claim to be God? Do they claim to be one with the Father? Do they say they have come to die for all of mankind? Do they raise people from the dead and walk on water and calm storms? Those are strong claims and strong deeds.
S. Lewis reasoned that “a man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher. He would either be [insane]… or else he would be the Devil of Hell. You must make your choice… But, let us not come up with any patronizing nonsense about his being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us. He did not intend to.”4
Who we decide Jesus is to us is a big question with big implications for our lives. But if we study the overwhelming and compelling evidence and then choose to believe that He is who He said He is—if we can take that leap of faith and ask, “Are You really there, and are You really good?”—it can be the start of an incredible journey and adventure. An adventure into life.
That’s why the offer He made two thousand years ago still stands for us today:
Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. — Matthew 11:28
Even today, for you and me, right now — that invitation has the power to change everything. If we let Him, He seeks us, saves us, strengthens us, supports us, and shows us how to live every day.

Cost of Traveling in Thailand:
Thailand offers a range of accommodation options to suit all budgets, from budget guesthouses to luxury resorts. On average, a mid-range hotel in a popular tourist area can cost between $30 to $100 per night, while a basic guesthouse or hostel may range from $10 to $30 per night.
Food in Thailand is affordable and incredibly diverse. Street food stalls offer delicious local dishes for as little as $1, while a meal in a mid-range restaurant can cost around $5 to $15. Transportation within cities is relatively inexpensive, with local buses and trains costing a few cents, and taxis or ride-sharing services being affordable for short distances.
Renting a Vehicle as a Tourist:
Renting a vehicle in Thailand is a convenient way to explore the country at your own pace. Both cars and motorcycles are available for rent, but it’s essential to ensure you have the proper documentation and valid driver’s license.
To rent a vehicle, you must be at least 21 years old and possess a valid national or international driver’s license. Most international driving licenses are accepted in Thailand, but it’s advisable to carry an International Driving Permit Thailand (IDP) along with your original license. The IDP can be obtained in your home country before your trip.
International Driving License in Thailand:
If you plan on driving in Thailand, it’s essential to have the appropriate documentation. The International Driving Permit Thailand (IDP) is a globally recognized document that translates your existing driver’s license into multiple languages and is valid for one year. To obtain an IDP, you need to apply in person at an authorized automobile association or licensing authority in your home country before your trip to Thailand.
Once in Thailand, be sure to carry your original driver’s license, IDP, and other identification documents when driving. It’s important to adhere to local traffic laws and regulations and drive with caution, especially in unfamiliar areas.
Thailand is a captivating destination that offers an abundance of cultural experiences, natural wonders, and warm hospitality. By exploring the country’s top tourist attractions, understanding the costs of traveling, and knowing the essentials of renting a vehicle and obtaining an International Driving Permit, you can embark on a memorable journey through the Land of Smiles.
