OOC story time

hi I’d like to share a story from my childhood that I based Alice’s relationship with Hal off of.

When I was in 3rd maybe 4th grade I had my first female crush (at the time I was closeted and in a religious household) I didn’t know how to deal with said feelings due to internalized homophobia and my parents weren’t exactly accepting (at the time, they are now dw) I tried so hard to get closer to her but we were already best friends so I didn’t really know how to get any closer without outing myself. I was awkward and creepy cuz I didn’t have an outlet for these emotions, we were both kids at the time (obviously) and j had never been in a relationship nor would I till my 8th grade year where I met my current gf. But the point still stood, I liked this girl and was scared to tell anyone, eventually the emotions ate at me so much that I came to the girl crying one day, I told her and she was very accepting of my sexuality, she didn’t like me back but I was ok with it because the fact that she accepted me was more than enough

case in point, Alice is not gay no but she is emotionally stuck. Hal and Alice are best friends, Alice is ok that Hal doesn’t like her back cuz she knows Hal will still be there for her. Anyways hope that clears things up :3
