"I suppose to some that is the biggest concern." Iorveth crossed his arms. He was still adjusting to minor problems though from where he came from some problems that people complained about were insignificant. After all he took a spear to his face leaving the permanent injury.
Alfred tried to school his face into an expression that was somewhat neutral, hoping to hide how surprised he was. Those were things that only existed in books in his world. "And here I was, believing marriage-minded mamas to be the biggest concern around."

"No they don't. They are very cold." Cordelia agreed. This shop was the one she always came to. The baristas knew her now. "It's quite entertaining I must say. Watching my students all walk in with their various festive drinks. Taking photos of their coffees and whatever book we are working on that week."
"The chains don't make their shops welcoming. They want you to get your drink and go. A handful of seats at best, and none of them are comfortable." Alfred nodded. "Ah, yes, the festive drinks, the special cups... I've been seeing a lot of people taking pictures in the park."

"I can remember bird song from when I was a child before the war really started breaking out. But yes there was something very peaceful about the birds." He nodded. "Dragons, banshees, demons, sirens, cave dwellers, giant spiders. The list goes on."
"Back home I spent as much time as I could in the woods on my estate, listening to the birds. The dawn chorus... few finer things in this life in my opinion." Alfred blinked. "As in the stuff of folklore? Dragons and black dogs and that ilk?"

"Try to do our part and not patron chains and we end up basically sat on each others laps." A little chuckle left her as she brought her coffee mug to her lips. "It's that time of year as well where everyone wants the cute indi coffee for their social media."
Alfred sat down, placing his mug and plate on the table. "Small coffee shops are nice and cosy, but they get filled up so quickly." And it was beginning to get a little too cold for him to enjoy sitting outside.

"Not to worry it's free and I'm happy to move my papers." Cordelia smiled. She moved the papers and books to give him some space on the table. Everything she did sue moved with grace and elegance.

"This seat is free." Alfred smiled up at the woman as he gestured to the armchair opposite him at the table. "I don't mind sharing, I know how difficult it can be to get a table this time of day."

"It's possible. Where I am from the birds didn't sing as much. Mostly crows, or magpies. Song birds were chased away by monsters and birds of prey." It really was a world of survival of the fittest. He kept walking, he was excited to go on a ride. It was definitely a way to relax.

The tree canopy provided a welcome respite from the heat of the summer sun. "We might see some interesting birds on our way down the the equestrian centre." It was certainly what Alfred was more excited about that than the horse riding. But he had always had an interest in birds, so that was to be expected.
