Pitch: Sing the Series

A collection of 8-10 minutes episodes following known side characters from both Sing movies (Think Zootopia+)

Ideas:

Nana Noodleman in her youth, preparing for a usual performance before a wrench is thrown in the works.

Alfonso and Meena going on their first actual date.

Suki beginning work at Crystal Entertainment and having to deal with Jimmys demands and Jerry's competitiveness.

Suki's short, but from the POV of Jerry, who views Suki as a possible rival vying for Jimmys attention. The short is edited differently to fit Jerrys very exaggerated view of the situation.

A robbery pulled by Big Daddys gang, directed in black and white like an old heist movie.

[Self indulgent, but Ryan and Johnny working together and occasionally flirting, culminating in a kiss]

Lastly, a short of Busters father, detailing his life and him earning enough money to afford Busters dream theater. The short is narrated by Buster as an almost eulogy to his father.

An idea on how Alfonso and Ryan can be in sing 3

An idea on how Alfonso and Ryan can be in sing 3I know how Alfonso and Ryan can fit in the third movie(it's what I also want to happen). I'll start with Alfonso, I think his arc would be that be Meena needs a (new)singing partner (because Darius is probably doing movies away from the crew) and Alfonso is nervous not just about singing with Meena, but singing in general. Meena then helps Alfonso overcome his fears like she had and they sing a duet together. And for Ryan, his story arc could be that he can't sing, (unlike Alfonso who can but is shy) like he doesn't know how and Johnny is Ryan's partner(from buster not Klaus) and they have to sing and dance a duet (or anything i have anotheridea with nooshy), so Johnny decides to help him sing, and he sings to help him with vocals and he sing so well that ryan (kind oh happy-jealous) tells him to teach him a different song because he could never sing like him and Johnny would tell him he can Johnny got to dance (and relearn piano) so he can learn to sing to. and after a while they sing the duet. And of course marcus/big daddy would be there to support and protect them(and where is nooshy? She is helping and also gets a part and Ryan helps to) I'm still work shopping it, what do you think? I hope anyone consider my idea

New Headcanons for the Sing Hunger Games Idea

Marcus is the youngest victor in Panem's history up to that point, being fifteen when he won his Games. He also proposed to his girlfriend Megan before he left for the Games. Her parents wouldn't give their blessing, but immediately did so when Marcus returned to District 2 and proposed to Megan again. She said yes both times.

Marcus was also a volunteer, but unlike most from District 2, he didn't volunteer because he wanted to. He went in place of one of his brothers.

Johnny knows his father's past, but Marcus never talks about it for good reason, despite being a favorite in the Capitol and as a result, having to return to the Capitol each year for the Games.

Ash is from District 4, and up until the Games, she spends most of her time in a boat on the water, playing her guitar.

Darius is also from District 4, often citing how he'll definitely win the Games if he ever competes, since part of the Games are a reality show/beauty contest. When the pair are chosen as this year's Tributes, Ash often thinks Darius will have to rely on his sponsors since he can't fight.

Rosita is from the Capitol and (reluctantly) one of the Gamemakers. While she is thankful that none of her twenty-five children will ever have to enter the arena, she also feels guilty because of how her job will affect (and in some cases, end) the lives of other people's children.

Jimmy and Porsha are also from the Capitol, with Jimmy being one of the most vocal in his support for the Games. He's also 'good friends' with past victor and current mentor, Marcus.

Gunter is one of the only living victors from District 8. After his Games, like other victors, he had to have a talent for his public image, which turned out to be designing and making clothes, along with dancing. Not only is this something he genuinely is passionate about, but he also has years of practice, having worked in one of the many textile factories before he was reaped into his Games. Dancing is also a way to cope with the traumatic memories of what Gunter endured in the arena.

Meena still bakes, with her family owning and operating their own bakery in their District. While it is still a business, Meena often donates food to hungry families in an attempt to help others in her District. Which breaks the hearts of many when she is ultimately reaped into the Games, including Alfonso, the elephant who admires her from afar and volunteers to help protect her in the arena.

That's all for now, but I am still super excited about this story coming to fruition and I hope you all will be too!

Long story short in Spag. Family: Tower crumbles, TowerFolk (The tower's people) move to the Main town and Part 1 of this AU is Over.

That's right, this AU has two parts

One that takes place before and during the events of the Pizza Tower and it's crumbling, then the other one that's takes place during the approx. 10 years that followed after, in between that time, Peppino and Gustavo started dating and after 2 years and a couple of months they got married, A year later, their kids were born.

Allow me to introduce the protagonist kiddos :)

First of, we got: Valentina Risotto!

Gustavo's Daughter and Matteo's Lil' sister.

She is 7 years old, yet she is younger than Giovanni by 2 weeks.

The moon motif comes from that one line in "That's Amore!": "When the moon hits your eye, like a big pizza pie" (Funfact: Peppino used to sing it to her and her brother as a lullaby)

She is quite an adventurous and rowdy kid, just like her dad when he was young!

Just like Her Dad and Big Brother, She is a Gnome.

This is Giovanni Spaghetti!

Peppino's first biological child and Totino's lil sibling.

He is 7 years old and the oldest between him and Valentina.

Giovanni is more nervous yet calmer than his sister but he will fearlessly defend her in case of anything happening.

He inherited "The Blessing of the Spaghettis" AKA: the thing that allowed Peppino to crumble the entire tower.

Good friends with Alex (Big bro crew).

While these two have different surnames, they are siblings just not biologically related, they were born thanks to the help of a surrogate mother.

So that's it! Those are the kiddos...

He can shapeshift, however it's a bit limited since he ain't experienced on it yet and his physical stucture is pretty stable.

Like its predecessor, the Illumination movie Sing 2 features sideplots with its deurotagonists that revolve around and eventually assimilate into the central story (putting on the in-movie musical Out of This World). Now, I love Sing 2. Despite a shaky first act, it has an incredible finale that hits almost every chord right. But there's a part of the movie I haven't seen anyone complain about (besides me, in YouTube comment sections) and I really think it needs to be addressed. It hasn't left my head since the movie came out and it still really rubs me the wrong way.

...that part is Darius, okay? I hate Darius.

Please hear me out.

In Meena's sideplot she has to kiss someone on stage for her song, but not having had her first kiss yet, she feels incredibly nervous about it. Buster Moon tells her not to worry, because he thinks he's got the perfect guy to pair with her. In comes the new hire, an acclaimed Broadway-equivalent actor sure to sweep her off her feet.

Darius is a girl's stereotypical first date: charismatic, moody, a little ditzy, very romantic. He doesn't make the best impression with either Meena or Buster, but especially with Meena; he gloats about the success of his previous show, only after doing so addressing he's been told about Meena's nerves- forgetting her name in the process.

When Meena tries to correct Darius ("it's Meena, not Gina"), he asks her not to interrupt him in the future instead of accepting the criticism. Meena's ears are pulled close to her face, a behavior carried over from the first film that she does when feeling very shy and guarded.

Their initial rehearsal doesn't go well, with Darius initiating unwanted physical contact with Meena. The chemistry is very clearly not working, and everyone can see it, but they assume it's just a rocky start.

This is where the problems really begin.

A phrase that's frequently thrown around with Darius and Meena is "find the feeling". Miss Crawly says it (in essence, at least) over her megaphone to try to get the co-stars in line, but Darius is by far the one who uses it the most. It's not a comforting statement, it's not a "let's work this out", it's a demand- because if the chemistry isn't there when the curtains go up, Darius's reputation could be affected. (Meena's as well, but he's not concerned about that.)

Meena runs outside to get some fresh air and meets Alphonso- voiced rather impressively by Pharrell Williams, as a sidenote- and it's not only love at first sight, perhaps her first real crush even, but the antithesis of everything Darius is. Sweet, non-judgemental, genuinely appreciative.

It was at this point, watching the movie for the first time, that I guessed how Meena's story would wrap up. She'd tell Buster she was uncomfortable, Darius would get kicked to the curb, and they'd hire Alfonso to star alongside her. Happy ending. (If only Alfonso could sing, but we never get any indication he has talent or experience, just that Meena imagines so.)

Well, Meena tells Buster no less than twice through the subplot that she's uncomfortable with Darius. Instead of letting her explain and listening to her concerns, he quickly tells her she has to stay with him for the act. The anxiety and stress and Darius's smartassery just keep building until the actual performance.

Darius asks her one last time, desperately, still calling her Gina, to "find the feeling".

She imagines Alphonso.

And she does it.

And that's, apparently, the victory the story was looking for. Darius goes with the rest of the cast on the big tour, Meena gets Alphonso's number so she can FaceTime him every now and then, and everyone's okay with how the stars aligned.

But me? God, I'm not. The fact that Darius recieved zero backlash (as far as I know), that his stuck-up behavior was treated as cute and quirky by the fanbase, infuriates me. I rarely get infuriated by cartoons, but this, as an AFAB person who was groomed online, is something I absolutely can't stand. Darius is treated as a comedic figure, and yes, it's "just" a kiss, but his behavior is far from funny, and a first kiss that goes anything like this is far from inconsequential.

Meena should never have been pushed to the point of needing to imagine someone in Darius's place in order to play her role. She should never have been forced to act with, much less kiss, him at all. It reminds me, tragically, of how people in situations of continued distress will imagine themselves in a better place to help them get through it. How a young girl, if she's attracted to boys or raised to assume such, may assume she must always be willing to please her boyfriend before taking her own needs into account.

Meena deserved so much better in Sing 2. She needed Buster to listen to her, Rosita to give her candy from her purse, Johnny to give her a hug, Günter to make her laugh. She needed a community. The kids watching her did, too. And the film didn't give them that dignity.
