Horror Movie Review: Scare Package II: Rad Chad's Revenge (2022)
Scare Package II: Rad Chad’s Revenge is sillier, more referential, and bloodier than the first. Like all good horror sequels, it had to up the ante and it does.
The first Scare Package was a funny, bloody, and meta anthology horror that turned enough heads to guarantee a sequel. After all, it’s the horror movie way! Scare Package II: Rad Chad’s Revenge is sillier, more referential, and bloodier than the first. Like all good horror sequels, it had to up the ante and it does. ❛ 𝑴𝒚 𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒐𝒏 ❜
𝙋𝙖𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜: Lexie Grey x f!reader ♡
𝙎𝙪𝙢𝙢𝙖𝙧𝙮: What if between two besties there could be more? Maybe it's weird, but when you fall in love anything doesn't matter anymore.
𝘼/𝙣: Ikk haven't been here for ages! But now I'm back with a fic for my favv <3
Lexie Grey, beautiful, so sweet, such a good heart, she was an amazing girl, how couldn't you fall for her? It took a very little time, when you met her you already know that one day that girl would have been your girlfriend. Well, hopefully.
Everything she did did nothing but surprise you, there were no flaws with her. You were also close friends, you were always there for each other. She was a messy, but you loved that girl.
Lately, however, something had changed between you. When you met you no longer had long conversations, everything was different. And what worried you was whether things were changing for the better or for the worse. Now you talked more about patient cases. Neither about her daily crisis. Damn, you missed this too, often when she talked you just looked at her and get lost. She made you feel in an indescribable way, almost like when they say the butterflies on your stomach.
All you needed right now was just eating something, it had been a long morning and you didn't ate anything. You went to the hospital canteen with your friends, taking your time and thinking about all the little things that came in your mind.
"Where's Lexie, I haven't seen her today?" Meredith asked referring to you since you were always together. "Y/n?" She repeated as you haven't heard.
"Hm?" you came back to yourself.
"I just asked about Lexie, do you know where she is?" She asked again. You sighed.
"I honestly don't know..." you simply replied. She nodded, a little confused too. You looked around when you finally saw her arriving. Lexie.
"I'm gonna back working, see you later" you quickly greeted them, trying to follow her. You just wanted to clearing things.
You didn't want to seem suspicious but you were acting almost like a stalker right now. You arrived to the locker rooms, but apparently it was too late since she was already went away.
You tried to wander through the patient rooms when you saw her heading towards the nurses station. You walked towards her.
"Lexie" you called her.
"Oh, hey" she smiled. "Since you're here could you call Dr. Shepherd, my patient needs a neurological consultation" she asked focusing at her stuff.
I raise my eyebrows. "Really?" I ask crossing my arms. "Lexie, can I please know what's going on?"
"I'm, umh, I'm just doing my job" she said like nothing looked normal.
"Come on, you exactly know what I'm talking about" he places his things on the table and says nothing else. "So?" She just kept looking at you, then walked away.
You followed her, pretty confused. "Lexie!" She stopped when you called her.
She turned towards you, approaching, and grabbing you for kissing you on your lips. You were just so surprised, but damn, that was so good.
"Alexandra Grey" you whispered when the kiss ended.
"I'm sorry" she said as you still were very close. You laughed softly.
"For what?"
"I just didn't know how to- well you're my best friend, my person, and I-"
"I love you Lexie" you said cutting her off. She smiled softly, that smile you loved so much that you would have done anything to see it. "I thought the same, but I do, I want you to be more of a friend to me" you said with your hands on her cheeks.
"I'd love it" she said kissing you softly again.
Yeah, everything about your relationship changed, but that was in better.

If you could make a show or movie about something, anything in history (an event, king, queen, lands, etc), what would you choose?
Also, Marie Antoinette (2006) is the movie that got me started on my fall down the rabbit hole of history.
I would love a series about the WWI royals and their downfall, I would sell my soul for an accurate series about the Romanovs, I want to see Queen Mary, Queen Alexandra, a film about the Hundred Years War, the Crusades, the Gilded Age, the Famine, more media about Irish Revolutions and history, a series about Countess Markevicz, a series about Empress Matilda, the Scottish Succession Crisis, the Jacobites, a series about the Dynasties of the Roman Empire. Im going to stop here because there's too many! GIVE ME A RENAISSANCE COMEDY ABOUT ALL THE ARTISTS - *hooked off stage by a shepherd's crook*
I love Marie Antoinette, I always play the soundtrack when I'm getting ready to go out.

Tell me something I probably don't know
I'm going to be honest and tell you that I'm not an expert in Greek mythology, let alone in obscure myths. So I'm just going to point out what I see that people don't usually mention, and assume they don't mention it because they haven't seen it.
There is a version of the myth in which Aphrodite was offended by Tyndareus and because of this ruined the marriages of his daughters (i.e. Clytemnestra and Helen).
Scholiast on Euripides, Orestes 249: Steischorus says that while sacrificing to the gods Tyndareus forgot Aphrodite and that the goddess was angry and made his daughters twice and thrice wed and deserters of their husbands . . . And Hesiod also says: "(ll. 1-7) "And laughter-loving Aphrodite felt jealous when she looked on them and cast them into evil report. Then Timandra deserted Echemus and went and came to Phyleus, dear to the deathless gods; and even so Clytaemnestra deserted god-like Agamemnon and lay with Aegisthus and chose a worse mate; and even so Helen dishonoured the couch of golden-haired Menelaus."
There is also a version in which Helena isn't Leda's daughter, but Nemesis'.
[Taken from Pseudo-Apollodorus' Library] But some say that Helen was a daughter of Nemesis and Zeus; for that she, flying from the arms of Zeus, changed herself into a goose, but Zeus in his turn took the likeness of a swan and so enjoyed her; and as the fruit of their loves she laid an egg, and a certain shepherd found it in the groves and brought and gave it to Leda; and she put it in a chest and kept it; and when Helen was hatched in due time, Leda brought her up as her own daughter.
And there are two different sources that present a version of the myth in which Thetis killed her sons before Achilles while trying to make them immortal, and Achilles only didn't die because he was the baby Peleus arrived at in time to stop Thetis. In one version, the babies drowned and in another, they burned.
Scholiast on Apollonius Rhodius, Arg. iv. 816: The author of the Aegimius says in the second book that Thetis used to throw the children she had by Peleus into a cauldron of water, because she wished to learn where they were mortal . . . And that after many had perished Peleus was annoyed, and prevented her from throwing Achilles into the cauldron.
[Taken from Photius' Bibliotheca] Thetis burned in a secret place the children she had by Peleus; six were born; when she had Achilles, Peleus noticed and tore him from the flames with only a burnt ankle-bone and confided him to Chiron.
In one version of the myth, after being transformed into a dog, Hecuba became one of Hecate's dogs.
[Taken from Lycophron's Alexandra] O mother [Hecuba], O unhappy mother! thy fame, too, shall not be unknown, but the maiden daughter of Perseus [Hecate], Triform Brimo, shall make thee her attendant, terrifying with thy baying in the night all mortals who worship not with torches the images of the Zerynthian queen of Strymon, appeasing the goddess of Pherae with sacrifice.
There is a version in which Penelope (yes, the one from the Odyssey) is Pan's mother.
[Taken from Pseudo-Apollodorus' Library] [E.7.38] But some say that Penelope was seduced by Antinous and sent away by Ulysses to her father Icarius, and that when she came to Mantinea in Arcadia she bore Pan to Hermes.
Although the Byzantine Tzetzes argues that it's another Penelope.
And Duris in his work about Agathokles says that Penelope was gluttonous and had intercourse with all the suitors and gave birth to the goat-legged Pan, whom they consider a god (FHG II 479 42). He speaks nonsense about Pan; for Pan is the son of Hermes and another Penelope. And another Pan is the son of Zeus and Hybris.
Furthermore, Patroclus isn't mentioned in the Pelion in any Greek source I have read so far (but he's mentioned in Roman sources). And Ajax only appears briefly mentioned in one Greek source, which is Heroica by Philostratus, known for purposely showing different versions of the more traditional myth. Also, people cry at the idea of Patroclus and Achilles being cousins (why I don't know, cousins being romantically related in Ancient Greece isn't shocking), but there is even a version in which Achilles is his uncle (because one of the possible mothers of Patroclus is Polymele, daughter of Peleus).

WiPs as a Moodboard
Thankies @socially-awkward-skeleton @shallow-gravy and @derelictheretic for tagging me!
Post a moodboard and an important phrase or line of dialogue from the fic you're working on. (Y'all are never getting a single line or phrase. I simply cannot do that.)
@shallow-gravy the Fallout bug got my ass, too. Samsies!!!! 👋🏻
“You are not my first ghoul rodeo.” Alex replies easily. It goes without saying, but she won’t tell him why. Not yet. If he sticks around, maybe. “Still, helluva charitable act.” Cooper muses. Alex's brow furrows briefly in thought, she can’t figure out what tone he says it with. “Just ‘cause the civilized world ended doesn’t mean everyone’s gotta be an asshole all the time.” Alex replies, unbothered, brushing it off. She’s just happy to have someone who’ll talk back to her, instead of her usual one-sided conversations with Cash.

20th April 1964 - BBC2 began broadcasting for the first time. Unfortunately, the BBC Television Studios at Shepherds Bush (and most of West London) were blacked out by a power cut caused by a fire at Battersea power station.
Instead of the scheduled programmes being screened, viewers were treated to this news summary broadcast from Alexandra Palace. (I particularly like the news story Nottingham University, which I attended fifteen years later.)
The first official BBC2 television programme to be screened was Play School, at 11:30 the following morning.

You know I have to, after the last Kit X Alex snippet. 😏
Kit could feel Alex's eyes on her all night, subtle glances shared between them, but the undeniable flush on her partner's cheeks told her she wasn't the only one feeling the alcohol hit.
She slowly pushed her chair back and steadied herself before rising to her feet. "Why don't I get us some water. Save our asses from the hangover tomorrow."
Bringing the bottles back to the table, Kit passed one to her dark-haired friend and unscrewed the cap of the other, taking a sip and then pouring the rest of it down the front of her shirt while staring into brown eyes.
"Oops. I'm all wet." Kit pulled her soaking wet top over her head, throwing it to the floor with a wet slap. "Guess I just gotta take it off."

NEW HIEROMARTYR PRIEST JOHN KOCHUROV OF CHICAGO AND St PETERSBURG (1917)
The Life of Saint John Kochurov, Hieromartyr, Missionary in America, First Clergy Martyr of the Russian Revolution.
On October 31, 1917, in Tsarskoye Selo, a bright new chapter, full of earthly grief and heavenly joy, was opened in the history of sanctity in the Russian Church: the holiness of the New Martyrs of the twentieth century. The opening of this chapter is linked to the name of the Russian Orthodox shepherd who became one of the first to give his soul for his flock during this twentieth century of fighters against God: Archpriest John Kochurov.
Father John Kochurov was born on July 13, 1871, in the village of Bigildino-Surky of the district of Danky in the Ryazan region, to a pious family of many children. His parents were the priest Alexander Kochurov and his wife Anna. Father Alexander Kochurov served almost all his life in the Church of Theophany in Bigildino-Surky village in the Diocese of Ryazan from the moment of his ordination on March 2, 1857, and having combined all those years of service in the parish with the fulfillment of his obligations as a teacher of the God’s Law in the Bigildin’s public school, imprinted in the consciences of his sons, and particularly in that of John, the most spiritually sensitive of them, a radiant image of the parish priest, full of deep humility and high inspiration.1
Fr. John’s upbringing, being based on the remarkable traditions of many generations of the clergy and bound with the people’s natural following after Orthodox piety, foretold his setting out on the path of preparation for pastoral service. Father John’s study — initially at Danky Theological School and afterwards at Ryazan Theological Seminary — was marked not only with outstanding success in the mastery of theological and secular disciplines, but with remarkable examples of Church piety which he demonstrated during a time when the everyday life of a provincial theological school was not always spotless in the moral sense.
The future Father John successfully graduated in 1891 from the Theological Seminary in Ryazan. Having passed the entrance exams for the Saint Petersburg Theological Academy, he became a student at one of the best theological schools in Russia.2
During the period of Fr. John’s study at the Saint Petersburg Theological Academy, his propensity to regard theological education as a preparation primarily for future service as a parish priest became clearly defined, while at the same time, Fr. John already during his student days coupled the possibility of his service as a parish priest with that of missionary activity, in which he saw the embodiment of the ideal of the Orthodox pastor. After his graduation from Saint Petersburg Theological Academy with the distinction of a true student, Fr. John was sent, in accordance with his long desire for missionary service, to the Diocese of the Aleutians and Alaska.3
Not long after his marriage to Alexandra Chernyshova, Fr. John’s arrival in protestant America put him in touch with a life dissimilar in many respects from his accustomed life in Orthodox Russia. For his first sojourn in the U.S.A. Fr. John arrived in New York, which with its mundane ways was so different from the spiritual life of the Russian cities. Not having yet learned the English language, Fr. John, thanks to the brotherly support of the New York Orthodox community — at that time of modest size — did manage to adjust himself to the life of the country, till then unknown to him, without any particular psychological or other complications. It must be noted that Church life in the Diocese of Alaska and the Aleuts was very different in character from that in other parts of the country, which was vast in its territory but rather small in the number of clergy. Specifically, the Russian Orthodox missions in Northern California, on the Aleutian Islands, and in Alaska had at that time already existed for about a hundred years, and Church life was conducted on a foundation of rather numerous parish communities which possessed significant financial resources, having become accustomed over several generations to life in America. But Orthodox life in the rest of the country was only being initiated, and it required a great deal of evangelical activity by the clergy to create normal Orthodox parishes within the multinational and multiconfessional local population. It was precisely to that part of the diocese that Fr. John was destined to be sent when he was ordained to the dignity of a priest on August 27, 1895, by the Most Reverend Nicholas, Bishop of Alaska and the Aleuts.4
The beginning of Fr. John’s parish service was associated with the opening, by Bishop Nicholas, of the Orthodox parish in Chicago in 1892. Assigned in 1895 by order of the Holy Synod to be a parish priest at Saint Vladimir’s Cathedral in Chicago, Fr. John was put in touch with a parish life that was strikingly different from the Orthodox parishes in Russia, which were organized and rooted in a living tradition many centuries old. Being a lonely island of Orthodox Christian life, remotely situated many hundreds of miles from the other scattered Orthodox parishes in North America, Saint Vladimir’s Church in Chicago,5 together with the Church of the Three Hierarchs in the town of Streator with which it was affiliated, in the less than three years of its existence still had not managed to become formed as a parish in the full sense of this word, and it indeed required heroic labors from the young Fr. John to be established in a proper way.
Beginning his work at the parish of Chicago and Streator, which was relatively small and multinational in its constituency, Fr. John nourished these people...Continue reading Orthodox Church in America
Colossians 1:18-23
18 And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence. 19 For it pleased the Father that in Him all the fullness should dwell, 20 and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross. 21 And you, who once were alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now He has reconciled 22 in the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy, and blameless, and above reproach in His sight- 23 if indeed you continue in the faith, grounded and steadfast, and are not moved away from the hope of the gospel which you heard, which was preached to every creature under heaven, of which I, Paul, became a minister.
Luke 11:42-46
42 But woe to you Pharisees! For you tithe mint and rue and all manner of herbs, and pass by justice and the love of God. These you ought to have done, without leaving the others undone. 43 Woe to you Pharisees! For you love the best seats in the synagogues and greetings in the marketplaces. 44 Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like graves which are not seen, and the men who walk over them are not aware of them. 45 Then one of the lawyers answered and said to Him, "Teacher, by saying these things You reproach us also." 46 And He said, "Woe to you also, lawyers! For you load men with burdens hard to bear, and you yourselves do not touch the burdens with one of your fingers.
