HAPPY 11TH BIRTHDAY TO THE SWEETEST AND CUTEST LITTLE MAN, HRH PRINCE GEORGE ALEXANDER LOUIS OF WALES (B. 22 JULY 2013) ♡

On 22 July 2013, Prince George was born to Catherine and William, then known as Duke and Duchess of Cambridge in St Mary's Hospital, at 16:24 BST weighing 8 pounds and 6 ounces. He was born during the reign of his paternal great-grandmother Elizabeth II and is the first child and eldest of Will & Cat.

The little prince's name was announced on 24 July as George Alexander Louis. George is one of his paternal grandfather King Charles’ middle names and was the regnal name of Queen Elizabeth's beloved father Albert. Alexander is the masculine version of Queen Elizabeth's middle name Alexandra and was also Catherine's top choice for a baby boy's name. Louis is in honour of his 3rd-great-uncle Earl Mountbatten of Burma - Louis, his father - Prince William and King Charles.

Georgie was was christened by the archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, on 23 October, in the Chapel Royal in St. James' Palace.

George spent the first few months of his life in Anglesey, Wales, before his family relocated to Kensington Palace in 2014. He started at West Acre Montessori School Nursery in 2016 when his family moved to Anmer Hall in Norfolk and then studied at at Thomas's School in Battersea. In 2022, George and his family relocated to Adelaide Cottage in Windsor, after which he started at Lambrook School with his siblings.

Born as a Prince of Cambridge, he became HRH Princess George of Wales after his grandfather conferred his parents with the titles of the Prince and Princess of Wales. George was third in line to the throne upon his birth but is now second in line following hid dad taking over as the heir.

He made his official royal debut during the Cambridge tour of Australia & New Zealand in 2014. His first Palace balcony was in 2015 and has also joined his parents on official tours to Canada, Germany and Poland. Taking part in two royal weddings Georgie has also been a part of his great-grandmother's Platinum Jubilee celebrations in 2022 and was a page of honour at his grandfather's coronation in 2023.

George is a keen tennis and football player (a huge Aston Villa & England fan) and loves rugby, cricket & triathlons. He is adores AC/DC and Led Zeppelin & is learning to play the electric guitar. Georgie is known to love the military and wanted to join the air cadets when he was younger.

He also loves helicopters and police cars and was a fan of Fireman Sam. As per his mum, he likes thunderstorms, and when younger T-rex, the dinosaur fascinated him the most. George spends a lot of time outdoors, helping out with the farm animals & is quite a competitive gardener.

Happily Ever After: Alec and Magnus Lightwood-Bane People Magazine

The two of them walk into the little pâtisserie that had been chosen for the morning’s interview. They’re alone and the easy affection is obvious in the way they hold hands, in how Alec kisses the top of Magnus’s head as the two laugh at some joke between them.

Watching them, the reporter tries to maintain her objectivity but she can admit it’s difficult. She’d first interviewed Alec years ago when he was a rising star and had just swept through his first awards season, winning four Grammys and considerably more household notoriety.

At the time, she’d been struck by the man who reveled in his image and single status. To see him today as one half of an incandescently happy couple-- and to know why they’re on the cover of next month’s issue-- is a bit surreal.

Still, Alec and Magnus sweep into the restaurant and it’s just a few minutes before she’s starting the interview.

“So,” she starts briskly. “What’s new?”

Alec and Magnus look at each other for a minute before laughing and turning back to face her.

“Oh you know,” Magnus replies airily. “We’ve just adopted the cutest twins in the world and that’s kept our focus fairly well.”

Shaking his head with a soft smile, Alec joins in, “That’s definitely the most exciting thing that’s happened to me-- hell, all year.”

Taking the cue, the reporter leans in a little. Her eyes gleam but it’s considerably friendlier than Alec had initially thought. She’s getting her scoop but there’s genuine interest there, too, and not just a need for the exclusive they’ve granted People.

“The internet had a meltdown last week when you posted that photo on Instagram of the two of you, each holding a baby. Did you anticipate that level of fervor?”

Alec’s mouth kicks up into a lazy grin as he relaxes back against his husband. “People don’t like change and even when they do like it, they want to be the first to know. That’s why we’re doing this. The babies are getting old enough to where we’ll want to take them out of the apartment and I wanted to face the world before we made that first step.”

“Our children’s privacy and safety is of the utmost importance to us. While this isn’t an invitation further into our lives, we had the discussion and it was equally important to be able to acknowledge and celebrate that our family had grown from two to four recently,” Magnus interjects.

“How recently?”

“The twins are seven months old and we adopted them the day they were born. It was finalized earlier this summer.”

“A lot of people were shocked to see that you two were officially parents. Had this been the goal all along or was it a more recent desire for a bigger family?”

“My brother Jace and his wife Clary had their first kid a couple of years ago. I was away from home as often as I was in the city back then and neither one of us had any thought of settling down. But then Jace asked Magnus and I to be godparents and it became an elephant in the room for a little while. Neither of us wanted to come out and say that we wanted kids but every time we babysat or talked about kids in general, it was fairly obvious we were thinking along the same lines.”

“I never really let myself think of the possibility of being a father,” Magnus says softly, flicking his gaze from Alec to the reporter. “I always joked that my students were my children and that I didn’t have time for kids of my own. Alexander was home for a few months on a break, however, and as we started babysitting regularly I think there was a sort of mutual realization that our goals had shifted. Alec was like a new father, anyway, with the way he was constantly researching how to care for a baby. It was as adorable as it was exasperating.”

"Hey," Alec cuts in indignantly. "I wanted to be prepared! I wanted my niece to be as comfortable and safe and happy as possible."

Humoring him, Magnus agrees, "You did. But it was also a sign that maybe we were both ready and eager for that next step."

Alec nods along.

“Yeah, there were a few hard discussions about how to make it work and if we really were ready but at the end of the day, I love Magnus and I want it all with him.” With a laugh that edges on self deprecating, Alec adds, “I’m very happy that he feels the same.”

“Of course, darling,” Magnus murmurs before raising their joined hands up to his mouth for a kiss.

It’s quiet for a moment and the reporter watches as Magnus and Alec share a look that feels intrusive to witness, no matter that they’re in public.

Clearing her throat a little, she diverts the conversation. “The last time you two were on our cover was four years ago when we were given exclusive access to your wedding in Florence. In that time, things have changed quite a bit for you, isn’t that right Alec? Fans and media have missed you as you’ve moved to a position behind the scenes of the music industry.”

Alec takes in the question lurking in her tone and crosses one leg over the other. Absently fiddling with his wedding ring, he answers her unasked query with a raised brow.

“I’m just as active on my social media as I’ve ever been with the exception of keeping quiet about our kids. While my role has shifted to producing and writing, I’m still very much an entertainer and artist. It’s just that I keep more regular hours and get to spend more time with Magnus these days.”

Humming thoughtfully, the reporter’s eyes sharpen as she bluntly asks, “Do you miss it?”

“Touring?” Alec chuckles, shaking his head in a wondering yet confident gesture. “It’s not like I’ll never go on tour again. I’m just enjoying this time now. It’s been wonderful to challenge myself in a new area of the industry and establishing Iratze Records has been a very rewarding, if grueling, process. I still perform a few times a year and that’s enough for me. It’s more than enough that I get to have the best of both worlds.”

"And what about you, Magnus. You last book landed on the New York Times Bestsellers list in the nonfiction category where it's still sitting at number one. Last fall you were brought onto an Emmy winning show as a historical consultant and that's not to mention your duties as the Chair of the Columbia University's history department. Do you two find it difficult to juggle caring for kids with your demanding careers?"

"It's hard work," Magnus allows but looking at him, it's hard to picture the man breaking a sweat over anything. "We work hard, every day, to be the best we can be-- the best partners, the best parents, the best professionals. It's exhausting but I wouldn't trade my life now for anything."

Alec grins and it's a little dopey at the corners as he looks over at his husband with his heart in his eyes. "What he said."

“You sound like the picture of a happily settled man, Alec. It’s hard to believe that at one time you were known as a sort of Lothario. Is it true what they say then?” There’s a glint of humor in her eyes as she asks, “Do reformed rakes make the best husbands?”

Magnus is quiet though he flashes a quick grin as he looks down at his wedding ring. It’s a simple band but is obviously well cared for. They both seem to be waiting for Alec to answer and Alec does so, but not before taking his husband’s hand and interlacing their fingers.

“I love Magnus more than anyone in the world,” he says, “And there’s nothing I wouldn’t do for him. The truth is, if he asked me to give it all up today, right now, I’d do it, no hesitation.”

Alec glances over at his husband just to see Magnus already staring at him, smiling with eyes so warm that he can’t ever imagine being cold again.

“But I wouldn’t,” Magnus says softly, thumb stroking over Alec’s where they’re hands rest on his thigh.

“But he wouldn’t,” Alec echoes with a quiet smile. He forgets for a minute that they’re not alone, that there’s a journalist right on the other side of the coffee table watching them with eyes that capture everything.

He comes back to himself after a minute though, looking over at her with an apologetic grimace that the reporter waves away, her expression far from annoyed and instead veering much closer towards enamored.

Clearing his throat, Alec says, “The past five years have been one hell of a journey and I couldn’t imagine anyone else by my side other than Magnus. I’m grateful every day that I stepped into that diner in the middle of the night and that Magnus took a chance on me. This next adventure, kids? I never thought that was in the cards for me.”

His voice is self-deprecating as he continues, “I never thought any of this was meant for me. I’m excited, though-- we’re excited to grow our family by two more and be the best parents we can be, every day.”

The journalist’s voice is warm, curious as she asks, “So is it fair to say that Alec Lightwood is still at the top of his game, even if he’s more concerned with his family and producing behind the scenes these days?”

Alec’s voice is confident as he answers, “Yeah. I’ve never felt better. I’ve finally found my place and that’s worth all the sold-out stadiums in the world.”

Magnus scoffs a little, though his expression is anything but doubting as Alec raises their joined hands up to his lips, kissing his husband just above his wedding ring.

As the reporter watches her subjects, the can’t help but think that this is one of the easiest, most enjoyable interviews she’s ever done. She’s writes the conclusion of the article as she watches the couple in front of her act like the newlyweds they haven’t been in years.

Alec Lightwood’s been a staple of these pages since he was a teenager. It’s been a long time coming, but the boy is now a man and instead of the confirmed bachelor we’d started thinking of Lightwood as a few years ago, domestic bliss is his best look yet.

There’s an easy contentment to Alec now, as he sits beside his husband and they banter back and forth, easily answering our questions between little inside jokes that we have no hope of deciphering.

We don’t mind, though. It’s hard to when the couple sitting across from you looks nothing but ecstatically happy.

We can’t wait to see what’s next for Alec and Magnus and their growing family. Best of luck to the Lightwood-Banes. We’re sure this is far from the last time we’ll see them between our pages!

because it’s valentine’s day and victor and yuuri are in love! always in love. just especially in love on this day. as usual, my headcanons? all over the place! but i do actually focus on their wedding details because i’m a loser, and i wanted to hop onto the bandwagon and do a thing for…

also, i’m pretty sure this is the longest headcanon set i have ever written, and here are the others if you missed them:

i like thinking about their apartment a lot and the fact that they have an entire wall dedicated to friends, family, and at least one picture (or five) of like. every vacation they have ever been to ever. 

and for all the pictures they can’t fit, they scrapbook it

pretty sure i’ve made this headcanon before but scrapbooking is just! so much fun! and it’s a more creative way of presenting all these pictures and memories and just? they love? doing things? with each other? it’s just 10x more fun

they have like a little bookshelf in their apartment just dedicated to their scrapbooks, and they love watching the shelf fill up over the years. there’s like two from the wedding, one that was a gift from phichit (because of course he would be the one to give them a scrapbook wedding gift chock-full of pics. he has all the pics) and the other is one they ended up getting put together at the end of the wedding after all the photo booth pics and it’s full of messages from all their friends and family who were in the photo and it’s just. it’s so cute. imagine it

idk about you guys, but all the weddings i’ve been to have those cute little photo booth things you go to with big goofy glasses, sparkly feather boa scarves, sequin hats, and a bunch of other fun stuff

so like. i like to imagine everyone invited just. leaving them so many pics. you got all their ice skating pals hitting up the booth several times, in different groups, just having a ball

and the most fun they have is when they finally end their rounds to every table and head on over to the photo booth to take fun pics with everyone

yuuri and victor literally?? never get tired?? their endless reserve of energy is absolutely connected to how much they love each other

they’re literally doing lifts and posing in the most ridiculous positions with phichit and chris and just!! all their friends!! but everybody is laughing out loud, everybody is dancing and having a blast

they end up with pages and pages and pages full of pics, from the katsuki family to the nikiforov family to their ice skating pals to friends to mentors to everyone!! absolutely everyone. they are all so happy i cannot possibly stress how happy their wedding night will be

okay so like. i just need to have a separate section to talk about their wedding now. i just gotta

you’re talking about a wedding between victor “i flew all of my belongings over from russia to live in an entirely different country to see you” nikiforov and yuuri “lemme just propose to you spur of the moment in this here cathedral in spain among a choir in literally the most romantic ambiance you can think off” katsuki. do u seriously think it won’t be big deal?

but of course, it’s not like it’s gigantic with so many people, but like there is a pre-wedding shoot…. several, but not all pictures made it to the magazines, of course

i am personally a big fan of @jinlian‘s hc about victor’s suit because honestly? agreed. victor’s suit is hideous but he most definitely lost a bet to yuuri for something or another

but who cares? because they had so much fun even though victor was internally screaming from the fashion atrocity he was forced to wear

but it’s only for a little while as a joke because their real suits are the top notch expensive shit

like… you’ve met victor nikiforov. he has nearly $7,000 sunglasses made of 18kt gold, and in the same pic, he’s in a multi-million dollar vintage car… 

he also has a very large gold collection… you can’t possibly miss how extra and high maintenance he is come on

and it’s his wedding of all things. he’s not letting himself and yuuri walk down the aisle in drab clothing. who do you think he is

i don’t have any specific pictures in mind, but watch it be idk brioni? heck, bigger, even. alexander amosu suit

i mean…. i barely googled anything but amosu’s vanquish ii bespoke literally has buttons made of 18kt gold and valued at $101,860……. realistically, it’s a bit of a stretch, but….. this is victor nikiforov. this is yuuri katsuki. nothing can ever be a stretch.

of course they have a june wedding and coordinate the flowers and everything because why the heck not

juliet roses? lily of the valley? hydrangeas? peonies? all of it

the press won’t cover their actual wedding day, but they do have a professional camera crew and photographers basically following them around all day

my aunt did this for her wedding and it was the cutest thing so voila now victor and yuuri are doing it

and they play a mini-video at the reception and oh my god i have never seen a room so moved and just. overwhelmed with tears and happiness

i cannot possibly stress enough how much of an impact victor and yuuri’s love has on other people on their wedding night especially. everyone is just so, so happy for them. not to mention that their speeches? a mess

yuuko’s crying… takeshi’s crying…. the triplets are crying but also trying very hard to post pictures of the wedding and reception

but let’s face it… phichit has them beat, only narrowly beating chris and leo by a hair bc they, too, are instagram legends

minako is a very drunk but happy mess she’s just rlly happy for yuuri because!! she literally watched him grow up! she’s essentially a second mother to him!! she was there when he came out, when he had an anxiety attack, when he won his first gold medal! she’s just…. she’s really emotional okay

and oh man….. mari…. hiroko…. toshiya….. they are…. A Mess™ to say the least, but a very happy, crying mess and every time yuuri looks over at them with the biggest, beaming smile on his face, their hearts swell with so much happiness! and love!! it’s just so great seeing him so happy because of victor oh man

yurio…. that kid’s a mess….. he has no idea why he’s crying so much…. but he can’t stay mad or pissed because heck these are the two people who’s helped him grow as a skater, two people he’s looked up to, two people who still treat him with kindness and respect despite him being such an asshole when he first met yuuri…. he’s grown since then, but man….. he can’t imagine not having met the both of them, not having grown because of the two of them, and it just. it really gets to him!

and phichit. oh man. he’s such a happy mess of tears. he’s so happy for his best friend. really. he’s never seen yuuri so happy, and it’s the most precious thing in the whole world. he remembers when he first met yuuri, back in detroit when yuuri was in college and showing up to training everyday. heck, he even stays up late to practice sometimes and just. this is his friend. one of his best friend. someone he really, honestly truly admires and he stays up all night making that scapbook wedding gift because he loves his friend so much

and chris oh man. i like to think that he’s pretty close friends with victor, you know? and they are, i mean episode 10 is proof enough but… they probably had late night thought talks. victor probably shared a bit of his loneliness, wondering if he would find life and love, and chris looks at him now, beaming and standing by his husband’s side and all he can think is how proud he is of victor!! for finding exactly what he was looking for 

victor and yuuri rarely spend any time away from each other and can’t stop looking at each other and bursting out laughing because oh! my god! we are married! can’t believe i love you so much! and i’m going to keep falling in love with you! every single day! for the rest of my life!

they literally dance through the night oh it’s so fun and wonderful seeing them together can you just. imagine. the laughter. the beaming smiles. the speeches. 

yuuri and victor swear to each other happy, and though they know that there will be plenty of bumps on the road, they still make each other happy. they still love each other

at the end of the day, victor and yuuri decide that it’s all that really matters. and they would never go back to change a single thing

The royal baby star of the show has arrived, cradled in the arms of his mum, Duchess Kate of Cambridge.

The christening of the third royal Cambridge heir, Prince Louis, was underway Monday in the Chapel Royal at St. James’s Palace in London as adoring members of his Windsor and Middleton families looked on, but without his nonagenarian great-grandparents.

It was the world’s first glimpse of the baby prince — the sixth great-grandchild of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip — in public since he was born on April 23.

The date was special to the queen: July 9, 1947, was the day her engagement to Prince Philip was announced. But the two were not at the ceremony.

The queen, 92, had spent a busy week in Scotland and was traveling to London to face another full week including major ceremonies on Tuesday and a meeting with President Donald Trump on Friday.

Prince Philip, 97, has retired from public duties and is not often seen in public anymore.

The new fifth in line to the throne was baptized an Anglican with the full name of Louis Arthur Charles of Cambridge in a private ceremony in the same small chapel where his brother, Prince George of Cambridge, was christened in October 2013.

As usual, the christening was an intimate affair. Present were the baby’s parents, Prince William and Kate, and his grandfather, Prince Charles, the Prince of Wales, and his wife, Duchess Camilla of Cornwall. 

Uncle Prince Harry and his bride, Duchess Meghan of Sussex, were there, plus his maternal grandparents, Carole and Michael Middleton, aunt Pippa Middleton Matthews and her husband, James Matthews, and uncle James Middleton.

Pippa Middleton, who is expecting her first baby in the fall, was among the first of the guests to arrive at the chapel. She was followed by her parents and brother, and by some of the godparents and their spouses. 

Cutest expected participants: Brother George, third in line to the throne, who turns 5 on July 22, and sister Charlotte, 3, the fourth in line. It was the first look at the Cambridge family of five in public since the baby’s birth. 

Charlotte was dressed in one of her signature smock dresses in blue and white, while George wore dark shorts and a white shirt.

Kate was in a creamy Alexander McQueen dress with a V-neck, plus a Jane Taylor hat. 

Louis was dressed in the royal christening gown, a replica of the 1841 original retired 10 years ago.

Also on the guest list were the six godparents, announced by Kensington Palace on Monday morning. They included old school friends and a Middleton cousin. 

Nicholas van Cutsem, one of William and Harry’s oldest friends; Guy Pelly, another chum who married an American in Memphis in a 2014 wedding attended by William and Harry; Harry Aubrey-Fletcher, another old friend of William’s; Lady Laura Meade, the daughter of an earl who married one of William’s closest friends from Eton, James Meade, who is a godparent to Princess Charlotte; Hannah Carter, an old school friend of Kate’s and sister-in-law to one of Princess Charlotte’s godparents; and Lucy Middleton, Kate’s cousin, whose brother, Adam Middleton, is a godparent to Princess Charlotte.

Royal children typically get multiple godparents: Charles has eight, William has six and George has seven.

After the 40-minute ceremony, the families went to Clarence House for a tea party, where guests were to be served slices of the traditional christening treat: a tier taken from Will and Kate’s 2011 wedding cake.  

They also were scheduled to pose for the official christening photograph, taken by prominent portrait photographer Matt Holyoak, who also took the official photograph of the queen and Prince Philip in 2017 to mark their 70th wedding anniversary. The christening photo will be released in coming days, the palace said.

The service, conducted by Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby, featured all of the usual trappings of a royal christening, including the silver baptismal Lily Font,  water taken from the River Jordan, singing by the Royal Chapel choir, and the baby clad in a handmade replica of the Victorian-era royal christening gown of Honiton lace lined with white satin.

“I’m delighted and privileged to be christening Prince Louis today – a precious child made in God’s image, just as we all are. Please join me in praying for him and his family on this special day,” Welby said in a statement posted on Twitter.

This is the third time around for Will and Kate, but only the second time they’ve picked the Chapel Royal for the ceremony. Charlotte was christened at St. Mary Magdalene Church on the queen’s Sandringham estate in Norfolk. 

Used by royals since Queen Victoria’s time, that little church was a sentimental choice because it’s where William’s mother, Princess Diana, was christened in 1961 when her Spencer family was living on the Sandringham estate.  

Royal babies close to the throne are usually christened in London, although not always at St. James’s Palace, the oldest (commissioned by Henry VIII in the 1530s) royal palace in Britain. Before George, the St. James’s Chapel Royal was last used for the christening of William’s cousin Princess Beatrice in 1988. William, Charles and the queen, for example, were all christened in the Music Room of Buckingham Palace.

The cozy (seats less than 50) chapel’s long history (it was built starting in 1540) is steeped in royal connections and ceremonies. Its coffered ceiling is decorated with royal initials and coats of arms believed to have been painted by 16th-century German master Hans Holbein.

The chapel is where Victoria married Prince Albert in 1840. More recently, it was where the former Meghan Markle was baptized an Anglican in a ceremony conducted by Welby shortly before her May 19 wedding to Prince Harry.

The christening gown also has a long history. The original was made in 1841 for the christening of Victoria’s eldest daughter, Princess Victoria, the Princess Royal, and was subsequently worn for all royal christenings, including Queen Elizabeth, her children and most of her grandchildren.

But it was in such fragile shape that the queen commissioned her dressmaker, Angela Kelly, to make a replica. The queen’s youngest grandchild, James, Viscount Severn, son of Prince Edward, was the first member of the family to wear the replica at his christening in the private chapel at Windsor Castle in April 2008.

Both George and Charlotte also wore the replica gown at their christenings.
