the smell of cinnamon might still be wafting through the air,  but alex nilsen is no longer quite so deeply immersed in this little baking project of his.   a batch of pumpkin cinnamon rolls forgotten entirely,  even if specks of flour are still dusting his apron and chin.   bright blue eyes nearly popping out of their sockets,  he finds himself gaping dumbly at his girlfriend,  unable to utter a word for a long,  long moment.   clad in a habit that’s anything but ordinary,  she’d most likely leave even the most liberal man speechless.   the outfit can only be described as a provocative play on tradition with its seductive lace accents,  black fabric so tight and short that it barely covers her backside.   “honey,  i —”   how is he supposed to take her to a party hosted by bryce when this is what she’s decided to wear?   a whisk remains frozen mid-air,  alex’s surprise is so profound that it’s a wonder he hasn’t yet dropped the mixing bowl.   well,  this is something straight out of a fever dream.   or a nightmare.   “you do realize that my family is deeply religious,  right?   and my brothers’ children will be there,  too?”

Joel looks at him, a somber look on his face. Did this guy realize just what the entity was that was following him? This thing was danger to everyone around him and he knew if he didn't find a way to stop it in time it was going to get another victim. It got Rose and now it was after him.

Joel takes a deep breath and lets it out. He could only hope this person wasn't a figment of his imagination. It was hard to trust his own mind, not after him starting to see things that weren't actually happening in real time.

"Death is inevitable, that's obvious, but if there's a way to stop something from getting what it wants.. without harming anyone else I am willing to do anything."

Thanatos was all around him. He wished himself personally that reminder was untrue, that he could find some obvious escape in one way or another, but if he managed to escape personally rontal fight with Thanatos, he wouldn't be spared to perceive him all around. He wouldn't be spared to be scared of other people life, wouldn't be spared to seeing people die around him --- if himself managed to standing within that survivor position. There had been an absence of reaction when he noticed obscurity of Joel face. Only determination towards Thanatos had once more escaped his lips. Only anger towards Thanatos had been admitted. Only an clear allergy to Thanatos had been exposed. A long time ago, when he was new inside that 'situation' when he perceived his class dying meanwhile he was searching to understand what going on, he would have been affected by that gaze, would have complained for his circumstances, would have been feeling hopeless and as he did once, embraced by an unstoppable anxiety … Nevertheless, as an survivor, he hadn't been spared, and wasn't something to complain compared to one of his friends. When Thanatos manner to presenting his face was from appareances of future androids deciding to kill his friend before he became important in the future, where killing these things were impossible for an human. When he became connected with couple of entities loving slaughter people.

Thanatos, in some manner, was escapable. A place could be switched, and Thanatos will finding himself offended to realizing, by doing such game endlessly, there will be no soul to collect anymore --- not the ones he was supposed to collect and failed to get the first time. Hypnos, on the other hand … If he didn't sleep, he would die. He preferred an invisible arm wrestling match with Hypnos, living eternally in fear of ending up paralyzed one day, of remaining stuck in dreams that would project premonitions, of never possibly waking up one day than living every second in perpetual fear of dying. He had been given the undesirable fate of a seer. It was because he had survived that he had been given this light of such a future. Was it better to risk being killed every second ? Was it better to be emotionally crushed by continually seeing people around him die ? There was no way John would pass on his Thanatos thing since he already had it personally. However, he couldn't risk Joel adding himself to his list. He had a growing glint of determination in his eyes, unable to swallow a scoff at her first sentence. ❝ Death is preventable. ❞ It was undeniably harsh towards Thanatos, but his anger towards Death had taken on immense proportions. ❝ I should have died a long time ago, and personally, I still live with guilt of having saved everyone from death at the time that caused this mass fury of Death. ❞ For his great displeasure, he was a seer. The more he fought Thanatos, the more he felt his presence, and could predict his moves --- where he didn't want to think about how Hypnos would make him regret this advantage. Even if he didn't want to, he could possibly know what was likely to happen … a cartridge he dreaded to have. ❝ Death follows a list. You can make it pass one person, and continue in such a way that there is no one left to collect. From what I understand though, this thing creates its own personal list, creating an indefinite chain where knowing the origin won't break anything … and arranging to feed itself. ❞ He noticed calmly towards him.

RE: the 'this fc has this disability therefore the character must' weirdness.

as a both mentally, cognitively and physically disabled person i really am over that sentiment. i act to escape from my illnesses (most of the time at least.) and really like. . . unless its just impossible to separate someone from their disability then why limit them? same for similar things like 'queer people must only play characters who match their identity' its just so weird to me since acting is meant to let people look beyond their limits. i'd love to study if there's any connection between that and the chronically online idea that everything must revolve around activism. the idea that if you are part of a marginalized community, you must live and breathe activism. its a tiring and horrid idea.

anyway people like shouting out weird af ideas online and i've found in the past few weeks that the internet is even weirder once you start disconnecting from it. lol.

i don't have much to add as i already spit my thoughts out both in the comments of the og anon and the tags, but i thought everyone could gain something out of reading this. unplug. stop being weird if you genuinely have ideas like the one anon was complaining about. people are not the characters they play.

also, as a tiny aside, because i have received anons about this before and have even had to block some rph blogs about it? poc people can be from """predominantly white / western countries""" ( using these words INCREDIBLY loosely ofc-- it more reflects people's own racism / ignorance as they don't think white / 'passing' people have culture of their own which is. lmao. go outside ) and are NOT ALWAYS ingrained in their og culture. it can be as much to do with geography as it can be race / faith, etc. case and point: my older fc for pete is indian but is from britain. stop putting them / their culture on weird asf pedestals through celebrities that may / may not even engage with the culture / faith / suffer the mental health problems their characters do and vice versa. it's ACTING. get over it.

All they'd ever found was a boy who saved his father and grew into a rather respectable teenager. Flawless academic performance, sharp wit, and perhaps some social ineptitude. But a criminal? Far from it. He had removed himself from his father's shadow, at least publicly. Artemis Sr. deciding to go legitimate only assisted in this cover. "Is that so? Well, Mr Rider, please do not let me keep you." Artemis flashed a false, but almost vampiric smile. "Unless there's something I can help you with? Perhaps answer some burning questions for you?" Indicating he already knew the blond was a power move if there had ever been one.

it had been pure luck that alex had bumped into james sprintz a few weeks ago. it had been even luckier that james had remembered alex despite being two years past the mess at point blanc academy. they'd gotten caught up , and james had gotten a furrow in-between his eyebrows when he'd heard about what alex had been doing since he " retired " as a spy. he'd made an offer to help.

now , two weeks later , alex was enrolled in a school with a cover that was super thin under a different last name , but money talked enough that no one seemed to care.

well , no one than artemis fowl.

alex isn't sure why it seemed like fowl had such a grudge against him , but all alex wanted to do was pass calculus without getting into trouble.

alex's instincts go on high alert when fowl calls him by his real last name , and he wonders if there's a reason why fowl seemed to know him. he was pretty sure he hadn't ever come up against anyone that fowl would have known ... he was rich , though , and he knows that some rich people have similar circles. maybe he knew a point blanc kid ?

4: does your muse find any specific features particularly attractive?

roman. in relation to josephine, he could tell you multiple things that he finds attractive about her. he will admit with much prodding that he likes her hips and thighs, and if asked about shilah, his hands and his smile.

shilah. for josephine, her laugh and the gap in her tooth. for roman, his eyes and his blush. before them, he would notice similar things about people like that that would make them attractive to him.

8: is your muse a good kisser? are they experienced or inexperienced?

ridley. average, experienced. depending on his mood he can push things a little fast, simply because he craves the closeness and has the fear of being pushed away. if he has time and feels safe, he can up the average to an excellent -- but with alex, they would have a lot of work to go to get to that level of intimacy.

14: what traits does your muse want to avoid when it comes to choosing a romantic partner?

roman & shilah. since neither of them were dating in the traditional sense, they weren't thinking about what to avoid. shilah should have avoided anyone who aged, because he knew what would happen; but he didn't. roman should have avoided josephine, working for shield, but he kept pursuing it. so if there were traits -- and shilah and josephine were two red flags starting out to begin with -- they would have ignored them anyway.

18: how does your muse feel about marriage? would they ever want to get married?

ridley. ridley is seething with jealousy about isabel getting married first. yes, he would love to get married, to have and to hold, because he has seen his parents and what it can be both good and bad. but he also knows that commitment makes people head on out, and he's not ready to also even commit himself to dating.

24: is your muse proactive in communication with their partner(s), or is this something they need to work on?

roman. the irony is that roman is very good about encouraging communication. if he senses that there is an issue with either josephine or shilah, he is good about being sensitive to their problem, opening them up, but when it comes to communicating his own issues, he tends to be silent about them.

shilah. while much work has been done between him and josephine since they met, he can still be petty when there is an issue, or he will simply disappear and make the matter worse. 0/100.

28: would it bother your muse if they had differing interests from their partner(s), or would they delight in it?

ridley. much like his mother and father(shilah), ridley loves to match wits and has to have someone to keep him on his toes, so he would rather have someone who had different interests, and someone who was smarter on different topics. ( and while ridley loves to dress well, he doesn't know a thing about fashion. )
