“  maybe  he’s  a  serial  killer.  ted  bundy  used  to  stalk  one  of  his  victims  …  did  you  know  that?  ”  he  stares  at  the  television  movie  that  is  on  the  screen  —  GOLDEN  GUN,  he briefly smiles   of  his  memorable  memories  of  watching  that  when  he  was  younger,  but  he  stifles  the  sigh  when  she  goes  on  about  the  mysterious  stalker.  he  feels  as  if  this  is  inappropriate  conversation  to  be  having,  especially  it  seems  that  she  feels  on  edge.  he  wants  to  ask  if  she  feels  comfortable  with  him,  but  he  suspects  that  her  answer  would  only  irritate  him  further.  “  you  might  need  to  confront  him  yourself,  ”  he  says  as  he  turns  to  look  at  serena.  “  but  that  could  be  a  dangerous  task.”

“  i  can  sleep  on  the  couch  tonight.  ”  he  shifts  a  bit  closer  to  serena,  hooking  his  arm  around  her  frame,  deciding  that  touching  her  knee  or  thigh  might  cause  her  to  be  a  bit  uneasy.  “  so  that  you  can  get  a  comfortable  sleep.  do  you  want  me  to  make  you  a  cup  of  chamomile?  ”

sometimes i think about how serena knows she has everything and yet she has nothing bc YES she's rich, yes she has nice things, yes she's beautiful, but she feels so deeply lonely bc her brother left, her parents are dead, and she just wants to be loved so badly!!! but she's so damaged at the same time that serena will really just up and ghost someone she loves to death

❛     really? that makes me feel so special.     ❜ serena's smile is sweet as she pets tofu. she's really not sure what kind of animal that tofu is -- but she's a cutie nonetheless! ❛     she's just such a sweet little lady. i hope i'm not bothering her then... i just can't help myself, i love animals.     ❜

it's kinda cute to see tofu cradled like a little baby. i'm happy that she's good with people, i'm kinda shocked she's just letting a stranger hold her like that. "oh shit, you're right! some ribbons would be real cute. pink for sure ... i think it's her color. y'know, she likes you a lot! she's good with people but i've never seen her cuddle up quite like this 'sides with me."

there is a nervous energy that permeates the air, which should have been calm and comforting. the moonlight is a blanket around serena's pale shoulders, bare. she can hear her nurse - maid now, swearing up and down that she's going to catch her death in the night - chilled environment. still, serena waits patiently, like a bird sitting in a trap, waiting for her captor to slam the door closed. her nightgown sweeps the marbled floor, while she picks at the skin around her cuticles.

footsteps ring out and grab her attention, and serena whips around as if she were caught in the act of something - because waiting feels like an admission of something. even though she was the one who'd asked him there, she felt her stomach begin to flip when patrick entered the throne room. her chest heaves with a deep breath.

❛     sir . . .     ❜ the corners of her lips tug upwards, into the tenderest of tiny smiles. something about being with a dangerous man, with sharp canines . . . serena knows better than to be here with him. and yet, when he comes fully into view, serena runs into his arms.
