also for some context on the Lapointes and Alejandra they’re part of an in-universe species called “mimic sapiens” which are basically descended from a group of humans that, when introduced to magic shit, were like “cool cool cool. What if we used the magic to give ourselves cool shit! Like fire breathing dragon stuff and lion fangs and wings! That would be fun :3” Over time they evolved into their own species, and generally mimicry traits became less extreme because surprisingly enough haphazardly shoving different traits into your genes via magic wasn’t particularly evolutionarly beneficial. Luna and Lyra both have stronger than usual traits (which is why Annabelle, not shown in these photos, needed Lyra’s help, as she is one of the few people physically able to speak this one language early mimics created.) Luna has traits mimicking Aerial Dragons, an in universe species of dragon, Lyra has a mix of aerial dragon and red deer mimicry genes, and Alejandra has lion mimicry genes.

So Alejandra Lion is finding work in ROH now ...

I'm with that!

One of the more entertaining squash matches I've seen to date that told a story of Lion's overinflated confidence getting the better of herself before Abaddon even touched her.

One spot I never saw before was the backwards crucifix Abaddon used against Lion.

The superkick exchange and opening handshake armshake was pure comedy and was a more interesting squash match than the one delivered by Trish Adora later in the night against Erica Leigh.

I liked the match, but there's only so many times Adora can twerk while doing the splits. Sadly, that's all she really has as her face is battle hardened leaving the rest of her body to look soft.

Thing is, I've seen Naomi do the splits with a better face over on WWE.

I like the Adora picking up a win, and being a part of a faction, but having fun in the ring just doesn't go with her character - fun just has no room on Adora's face and she should lean into that side of her persona more than any side that's displaying jubilation.

If anyone here wants proof for how ludicrous anti-trans sports bans can be, the state of Oklahoma has sent out a warning to All Elite Wrestling for having transwoman wrestler Nyla Rose wrestling against a ciswoman wrestler Alejandra Lion.

As in pro wrestling.

As in that sport that is scripted and not real. The sport where the fighting is choreographed. The sport where no one has an advantage except the people the writer thinks should win.

Tony Khan Criticized Oklahoma State Athletic Commission For Their Transphobia Against Nyla Rose

The owner of All Elite Wrestling (AEW) says he’s “disappointed” in the Oklahoma State Athletic Commission (OSAC) after the OSAC reprimanded the company for featuring transgender wrestler Nyla Rose in a match against a cisgender woman.

On December 20, 2023, Rose (the first trans woman to be hired by a major U.S. wrestling promotion, and the second-ever AEW Women’s Champion) appeared on a show in Oklahoma City under AEW’s Ring of Honor subsidiary brand, facing off against competitor Alejandra the Lion. As fans are well aware, professional wrestling matches are predetermined, and while violent, involve realistic stage combat rather than attempts to permanently injure one’s “opponent.” But wrestling is still legally a “professional combative sports event,” so Oklahoma athletic regulators swiftly stepped in to object to the match, based solely on the fact that Rose is trans and Alejandra is not.

The Commission’s rules prohibit athletic competitions “between males and females,” as defined solely by their chromosomes, a rule which is printed in the state’s official pro wrestling license application. OSAC officials claimed that Rose violated the law by marking “female” on her application, issuing a formal warning to AEW with a promise of “punitive action” should the company run more matches between trans and cis wrestlers in Oklahoma going forward. Under Oklahoma law, violating an OSAC statute can result in a $1,000 fine or 30 days in jail for a first infraction, with additional infractions carrying penalties up to $5,000 or one year in prison. Oklahoma’s chromosomal regulations have been in place since 2012.

Rose regularly works with cis women in her matches, such as her longtime in-ring rival Hikaru Shida. Though her “Native Beast” character references Rose’s Oneida heritage, AEW has not referenced her trans identity in its storylines. During a media call on Wednesday in advance of AEW’s Dynasty pay-per-view event, co-owner and president Tony Khan expressed “shock” at OSAC’s warning and said he fully supports Rose and other trans athletes.

“I was really surprised by this [...] and of course, I was disappointed by the commission’s position and by that warning,” Khan told reporters during the call, “I don’t think we did anything wrong.”

“I don’t think there should be discrimination against transgender wrestlers or transgender people at all,” Khan went on to say. “They have rights, and to that end, I absolutely stand by Nyla Rose. AEW stands by Nyla Rose and all transgender people who want to play sports. And this is wrestling. There was nothing wrong with it [...] if everybody in the locker room can embrace Nyla, I would hope that the Oklahoma Commission could do the same thing.”

When asked if AEW would continue running events in Oklahoma following the warning, Khan demurred. “We have great fans in Oklahoma, they’re important to us,” he said. “And great fans all over the country, and so we’ll do anything we can to support those fans. So, it’s something we’re gonna have to think about.”

RUMOR/REPORT: Disney Television Animation Developing "The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder" Spin-Off "La Familia Avenúñez" At Disney+.

One of the most streamed series at Disney+ has been "The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder", a sequel series of the original "The Proud Family" which ran from 2001 to 2005, the series has been getting critical praise for tackling issues about the black community, multicultural families and characters belonging to the LGBTQ+ community.

It seems that the world of Emylville might expand with a potential spin-off series focusing on The Boulevardez with the Avanúñez side of the family, this was recently revealed via a trademark under the name "La Familia Avenúñez", the trademark lists "entertaiment services featuring animation".

LA FAMILIA AVENÚÑEZ is the fourth Disney TVA series revealed via a Trademark listing after "NEON GALAXY", “SAM WITCH” and “DISNEY JUNIOR JOHNNY GUITAR ROCK STAR”. Apparently there’s other two new Disney TVA series listed on these trademark sites but are behind a paywall at the moment, hoping they go to the public soon.

LA FAMILIA AVENÚÑEZ joins the latino-lead projects at Disney TVA with SOFIA THE FIRST, ELENA OF AVALOR, HAMSTER & GRETEL and the upcoming chicano-lead comedy PRIMOS slated for Summer 2024, other latino-driven projects in development include preschool shows from Jose Zelaya (Lilo and Stitch: The Series, Disney Junior The Lion Guard), Norma P. Sepulveda (Disney Junior "Ariel", "Elena Of Avalor") and a superhero musical comedy series about latina influencer/popstar/superhero Alejandra Fuentes living the best of THREE worlds under the working title "SUPERSTAR".

Tundra’s name is actually Alejandra Citlali Osorio-Cruz and through the series she’s just about to turn 16 in season 1 and roughly 19-20 by Season 5 (give or take how the fuck you think time works in 2012 bc I think it takes place over 3-4 years season 5 included)

Tundra came about as a nickname when she was a kid and got super hyper-fixated on professional wrestling and like. She made an entire persona and lore. Alec started using her wrestling name as a silly nickname and it stuck.

Yes I did come up with a stupid cute reason behind the name Tundra bc I can not handle the fact I chose such a BAD oc name for a LION but like I can’t change it NOW!! I MADE HER IN LIKE 2015 SHES TOO OLD TO CHANGE IT

Xever did just think for the longest time Tundra WAS her name. He also just assumed that Alec and Chris adopted a child for fun.

Her bio parents Ixchel and Alejandro were really good friends of Alec and Chris for like. Well over a decade. Ixchel and Alec especially. Ixchel was an actress (like I would say their worlds equivalent of Selma Hayek) and Alejandro worked in music production.

They didn’t have a ton of family they kept in contact with, so Alec and Chris were named Alejandra’s legal guardians if anything happened to them. They sadly died in a plane crash when Tundra was around 1.

This feels like SOOOO edgy and silly to me now but like I literally can’t see Alec and Chris adopting a kid any other way than the guilt of losing their friends pushing them to do it. WHICH SOUNDS BAD. AND LIKE IT IS. However they still love and raise Alejandra as their own, if anything Chris is like. Somewhat distant bc he still has his career but Alec’s like “fuck yeah I get to raise a kid again” and kinda slips from the spotlight. Which is fine by them , they’re like 600 years old they can just have messy fun in the public eye another time

Tundra goes fucking THROUGH IT emotionally through the series. Like goes from would do anything for Chris and Alec (especially Chris who. Again. Was distant and she desperately wanted his approval) to the point where like. She’s yknow. Mutated, to growing resentful of them when Hachi enters the picture (especially when she has to take care of him) to like. Low key betraying the foot and joining the mutanimals in season 3. And then having to deal w Chris being resurrected temporarily in season 5 after a really chill and happy 2 years with her mom and little brother like it’s a LOT.

In season 1 she’s very much a “mean girl” stereotype and slowly evolves into Cool And Gay (but still a little better than you)(she. She gets that from her upbringing.)

Tundra and Karai are seen as like a duo/bffs up until season 2 after the whole “I’m not shredders daughter” thing happens. They grow distant (obviously) until season 4.

So like Alec and Chris are NOT the best parents and like. They did totally just let Tundra take Hachi to live w her and the Mutanimals in season 4. She’d already been in space w him for 6 months and the poor kid really didn’t want to go live in the woods. I have such a specific scene in mind for this and I want to write it out so bad. Anyway tundra basically becomes a teen mom for a little bit. Eldest daughters am I right? *plays class of 2013 by mitski*

Tundra has a modified mini van which she does haul all of her friends who can fit in. Apologies to leatherhead and slash . No she doesn’t have a license

She also has a bike. These two vehicles she did canonically find on the side of the highway and she convinced Donnie and Casey to help her fix them

Tundras in a punk (? Maybe more Pop punk ) band called The Muties (my other characters Jack and Spinstra are in it. also Mondo. Sometimes Raph fills in on drums if Spinstra can’t make it). Tundra and Jack switch off on vocals, she’s usually on bass. They started up in the down time between seasons 4 and 5. They play in Moira’s Menagerie (a mutants only bar and hall) every week on Fridays. Alec comes to nearly all of their shows and also they bring Hachi sometimes when they practice and he’ll play his DS.

Alec will also force their friends (I.e. Apep, Anton, Ivan and Xever) to come watch Tundra w the promise of drinks and she thinks it’s embarrassing every fucking time bc they’re SO LOUD and OBVIOUS and god she could just DIE (but also. Having the support makes her happy)

Alec WILL slam back 3 tequila shots and go on about how talented their daughter is.

Chris got to see her play once. And it was when he was resurrected. And Tundra, frankly, was not thrilled. Another one I wanna write

Alright. So what are the best character designs you've encountered in a webcomic? It can't all be bad.

Oh sure, this time I'll go in no particular order. Let me start with the most obvious.

1. Matt from Gene Catlow

I may be biased but Matt is a character design masterpiece, he's got a simple yet effective design that captures his personality as a self-serving schemer. His appearance is very much inspired by Cassius from Kimba the White Lion, making him appear as a vicious panther-like cat as opposed to Gene's tomcat design. Matt is also sexy despite not being conventionally attractive, but part of that is thanks to the wide range of emotions Matt goes through. He is the most emotional character in this comic, and his expressions come off as natural due to how flexible his face is. He can look adorable in one panel and scary as hell in the next. You can tell Albert put a ton of care in Matt's design. It didn't start out perfect, hell, it didn't even look like him at all, but eventually, he became the design masterpiece he is now.

2. Dr. Universe from Spinnerette

While Krawniverse is an annoying objectivist self-insert, I think he has a great design. The mad scientist look that is eyecatching from the get go. He also does look somewhat like a normal human being when he's in a civilian outfit, but he looks so much more interesting as the mad scientist. I went with the black jacket he wore at the beginning of Fat Spinny arc as my favourite look for him.

Demikhov does also deserve a shoutout for being a russian remix of Universe's design.

3. N.O.S. from Console Girl

Of course the best character from Console Girl also has the best design, it really sucks that every other console's design prioritizes author's fetishes or cosplay instead of giving them an unique outfit that have the colors of console on the forefront. N.O.S. not only looks great, she can go from elegant to psychotic in the blink of an eye. Her grey skin also makes more sense than with Vibibi because it's part of the CONSOLE's color. She also looks oddly cute when she doesn't do the mad eyes.

4. Sir Ari from Kit n Kay Boodle

It's a snake with a top hat. Sometimes less is more.

5. Celesto Morgan from Dominic Deegan

This is another biased choice but of all the characters in Deegan Celesto has the best design, he has a consistent hairstyle and his design is the perfect foil for Deegan. He started off as Szark/Lady Szark's lover who later became the truth-spitting edgelord we all know and love. I also like how his eyes glow black instead of white, which probably fits the seers more. Anytime shit is about to go down Celesto will show up, but he also might show up to bang some chick.

6. Stealth from Alien Dice

Yes, Stealth is also in the best design list, more specifically her old design. Even if Tiffany has learned to draw the new Stealth, the old design is just so much superior. I think Stealth's old design may be my favourite of all the dice designs as rest of them are either malformed animals or discount Digimon. She looks like what you expect alien cat to look like with green large eyes, two tails and hypnotic fur pattern. Can you imagine what the evolved forms would've looked like if she never got whitewashed? Just...keep the human hair out.

7. Alejandra Coldthorn from Las Lindas

Chalo's art and Las Lindas as a whole peaked during Alej's revenge, originally she was just another big booby cow with tight office clothes but when she plotted the insane scheme of ruining Mora's life she became both fashionable and threatening at once. I love her brown jacket and her much more menacing demeanor. Makes you think she's gonna play the World's Most Dangerous Game with Las Lindas residents. Of course that didn't last long, but damn, Alej was so fun to watch during this time and her design here was the cherry on top of the cake.

8. Bloodcrow from Spinnerette

We end on another Spinnerette character. Bloodcrow is a tragedy because when he isn't wearing that stupid Birdman of Alcatraz mask he looks actually really sexy even with his facial scars. He's also built great like damn. Now I kinda wish I could riff that porn co-OKAY I STOP.

Jackette The Jackal Wanted To Help. However She Jumped and Jiggled and Jostled That She Spilled Juice On Her Jeans. The Guests Thought It Was A Jolly Joke Then Kurly The Kind Kookaburra, Went Into The Kitchen For A Kettle Of Water To Help Mop Up The Spill. After Lunch. Little Miss Cassie Suggested A Game Of Leapfrog On The Lawn. Everyone Laughed To See A Lepoard, A Lion, A Lobster, A Lizard, A Lamb, and Little Lorikeet Playing Leapfrog.

Mina The Magic Owl Came To Entertain Them. She Changed A Mango Into A Motorbike, A Manatee Into A Mermaid, and Gave Them Mustaches.
