So glad this passed. Calling and emailing elected officials can feel like screaming onto the void a lot of the time but it does make an impact. The article mentions that city council members got thousands of emails about this resolution. I emailed my alderman about it. The third largest city (by population) in the US calling for a ceasefire is significant. At the very least it's another point of pressure on the people in Washington who actually have the power to do something.
Also I learned from this article that Chicago has the biggest Palestinian-American population in the country which is neat.

5 year wait and studio change? No problem, Konosuba S3 was everything we missed and even more. Loved it from start to finish and I’m so sad it’s over now. Perfect way to end the season though, this episode had everything that made this season and by extension the series, great.
Tumblr media
First of all, if you don’t have darkness as best girl by now you’re insane! I’ll hear no debate on the matter! She looked so stunning in her wedding dress and all the crazy looks on her face when Kazuma came to her rescue were brilliant.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Kazuma giving up all of his IP and every bit of money the group has made to her Darkness back shows just how committed he is to his friends. He might not act like it, but he’s quite caring under that exterior. Telling darkness of all people to repay it with her body is hilarious cause that’s a reward for her if anything 😂
Tumblr media
Megumin showing up late and then almost killing everyone with the biggest explosion spell to date is so in character for her lmao. She so 🐶 💔 Also, she called Yunyun her best friend! After the spin off series last year that was cute
Tumblr media
Leave it to Konosuba to have a heart tugging moment like Darkness and her dad’s last convo only to interrupt it and have us dying when Aqua healed him 💀 That one scene really encapsulated the season though. Surprisingly emotional, but funny as hell.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Is that a JOJOS REFERENCE(I’ve never seen it) Vanir made quite the appearance and freeing maxwell as well as punishing Alderp is perfect. He won’t be making any predatory loans anymore that’s for sure
Tumblr media
“Welcome back” 😭 beautiful end to the episode. Kazuma better not bully Darkness with the Divorcedness stuff too much 😂 God I’m going to miss these idiots so much. Thank you DRIVE for this adaptation.

Moonlit destiny: Forgotten Kin- Chapter one
Two leaves lay before dark russet paws. Together they sat neatly, awaiting to be moved. Alderpaw sat and stared down at the light green foliage. “Watermint, or just mint.” He finally squeaked out and fought down the rising fear. What if I’m wrong?
A pale orange and white she-cat sat before him, half of her face scared from a dog attack. Her one good eye glowed a leafy green beneath the shadows of the medicine cat den. Her silence made Alderpaw’s belly turn. Until she finally spoke.
“Well can’t you tell the difference between mint or watermint?” Her voice was sweet but her words felt condescending. Alderpaw began to get hot and embarrassed. His tail thrashed uncomfortably. “Well they are similar.” Alderpaw began but felt his excuse was pitiful.
“Remember what we talked about sight, smell, and taste.” She reminded him and Alderpaw thought for a moment about licking the herbs. But that was even more embarrassing. Finally the she-cat sighed and pointed towards the bigger leaf, “Watermint.” She explained and then quickly put them back into the medicine stash.
“Sorry, I knew that. It’s bigger than mint anyways.” Alderpaw felt like the most mouse-brained cat in the world. Brightheart had always explained that watermint was large out of most herbs. Brightheart smiled slightly, “You doubt yourself so much you forget simple things.” She explained. I know that, I’m trying my best. Alderpaw thought to himself. “It's just stressful.” He tried to understand himself, but everything seemed stressful to him.
“Being a medicine cat is stressful, you're helping sick and dying cats every day.” Alderpaw nodded his head and tucked his paws underneath him. Oh starclan how will I help injured cats in battle when I get scared just choosing the right herb.
“Hey now don’t beat yourself up about it, you're a very bright apprentice.” Brightheart must have picked up on his sadness and was trying to make him feel better. But nothing really made him feel better, ever since he can remember he was nervous, stressed, or just different.
That's why he became a medicine cat apprentice, he wanted to help other cats feel better. Was that it? Or was it because of his mother? “You just need to focus, I understand this is a lot of pressure.” Brightheart paused and thought for a while. Alderpaw felt a tongue soothingly lick his head. It snapped him out of his thoughts and saw a dark ginger face above him.
His mother, Squrrielflight, gave his head simple licks as Brightheart seemed a little caught off guard by her presence. “Oh I didn’t notice you had come in, I was just trying to help Alderpaw understand how to deal with all of this.” Brightheart gestured around as if ‘all this’ was just normal everyday medicine cat chores.
Squirrelflight nodded, “Oh yes I just came in to see how it was going!” She admitted, “It just seemed like you were taking a long time. Brambleclaw and I needed to talk with him.” Alderpaw felt more knots form in his belly. Not even more stern talkings.
Brightheart’s face was full of sympathy and understanding. But instead of looking at Alderpaw she stared at Squirrelflight. “He is doing well already, just nerves getting in the way sometimes.” She was downplaying how much Alderpaw has had trouble with himself. But his mother smiled slightly. Her eyes seemed so far away, not really understanding what Brightheart was saying.
"Well I’m so happy to hear that, he will be back unless that's all you need.” Squirrelflight seemed to feign happiness, as if she wasn’t happy at all. Then again she seemed to only be happy in small moments in all of Alderpaw’s life. He had heard others talking about how her life had recently been full of tragedy.
Brightheart looked up as she thought, “Well I think we are low on yarrow, and tansy.” Alderpaw tried to think of the plants while she spoke. Little white flowers for yarrow, and the large stick like plants for tansy.
“I can go fetch some with Sparkpaw after.” Alderpaw quickly put in and Brightheart gave a chuckle. “Of course with Sparkpaw.” She rolled her eye and then purred, “Yes that would be lovely, but I’m sure that your mother would not like you two to come back again wet from your ears to your paws.” Squirrelflight nudged Alderpaw and embarrassment hit him again like a brick wall.
Not more than maybe a couple of days ago, Alderpaw and his sister had gone to fetch herbs. They decided to race along the lake shore, and had both accidently fallen into the water. Brambleclaw and Squirrelflight weren't too angry with them, but instead just dumbfounded by how they managed to not get injured.
After that they were just tasked to change the elder’s bedding, which Alderpaw didn’t see as much of a punishment. He enjoyed talking to the elders. He felt a tug at his tail and saw Squirrelflight gently pawing him as she was leaving the den.
Alderpaw followed behind her and nodded goodbye to Brightheart. The scared she-cat was not the medicine cat of Thunderclan. She had just known most of the herbs and remedies for sick cats. She was trying to train Alderpaw as best as she could, but Alderpaw knew deep down that it wasn’t supposed to be like this.
His mother trotted in front of him with her whiskers twitching. In the sunlight her fur glowed a deep red. The fluff around her tail and face reminded Alderpaw of little kit fuzz. But a scar on her ear reminded Alderpaw of everything she had been through.
Alderpaw looked around for his father, the large dark tabby tom was easy to spot. He was one of the largest cats in Thunderclan. He saw a glimpse of him underneath the shade of the high ledge. The New Leaf heat seemed to have gotten to him, his mouth was parted slightly as he panted.
Squirrelflight turned her fluffy face around to greet Alderpaw as she strolled towards Brambleclaw. Freckles dappled her face as she mewed, “You're not in trouble, we just wanted to catch up with you.” Alderpaw knew he wasn’t in trouble but the knot in his belly seemed to be less tightened as he sighed. “Yes I guessed that.”
Brambleclaw spotted them and purred as they approached. Squirrelflight greeted him with a bump against his cheek. They sat together and looked as if they belonged together. Alderpaw curled up with them in the shade and relaxed his mind. He felt rough licks to his head as Squirrelflight again groomed him.
“So how is it, I know Brightheart is a sweet cat.” Brambleclaw yawned, and Alderpaw looked up at his father. His amber eyes were comforting to him, “Yes she has been great, even though it’s not her job.” Squirrelflight gave him a look, “She offered to stand in until you're old enough, she gave herself that job.”
Alderpaw knew he had struck a nerve, his mother’s sister had been the old medicine cat. Most had suspected she felt like Brightheart was taking over her job. And she had left without a trace, and then the other medicine cat had passed away. Leaving Thunderclan with nothing.
Brambleclaw ran his tall over Squirrelflight's back and tried to soothe her. Alderpaw nodded, "Oh yes I was just saying, how she still sleeps in the warrior den and everything." Squirrelflight sighed, "Yes I'm sorry, I'm not mad at you." Brambleclaw tried to break the tension, "In fact we are very proud of you, this is a big job. I couldn't think of a better cat for it." He gave Alderpaw a look of pure pride, but it didn't make him feel any better.
His broad head was striped with dark markings. Alderpaw knew he had the same markings and stripes. Everyone had told him so, even Firestar. Apparently Brambleclaw’s father was some evil cat, but was long dead. Alderpaw didn’t like to hear much about that, thinking of how scary life was before him was something that he didn’t like to think about. Because maybe it meant that the same thing would happen to him.
Alderpaw put those thoughts away and gently rested by his father’s paws. He studied them closely. He had always been strangely aware of other’s appearances, he was fascinated by how his father looked. Like a giant tiger from those nursery stories.
Alderpaw was suddenly hit with peace in his mind, he was safe. He was curled up beneath his parents in camp. Nothing could hurt him here. Maybe that was why Squirrelflight and Brambleclaw called him here. To relax.
He sighed slightly and took a deep breath. The smells around him seemed more familiar now, not as unfamiliar as the medicine den and all of the herbs. “We have been a little worried lately, I know this role is very serious.” Squirrelflight started with a concerned look. Alderpaw glanced up and studied his mother.
“It is very difficult but I haven’t been too worried.” He mewed in response although it felt like a lie deep down. He had been second guessing himself the whole time. “Well we are glad to hear that, we are always here for you.” Brambleclaw purred. Alderpaw smiled in return, this was one of the most comforting thoughts to him.

Anime Update V3 14
From Me To You - Sawako got to have her first semi-sleepover with friends, spending Saturday night in Ryu's room in the upper floor of the ramen shop with Yano, Yoshida, and Ryu. And then Kazehaya got called to the place because Yano and Yoshida wanted the lulz. And then Mr. Pin went up there 'cause he's a frequent patron, so we got more wackiness with him. And the big reveal was that Kazehaya used to play baseball? It was all a bizarre but wholesome affair.
Hunter x Hunter - Finally facing Pitou has turned into an unexpected moral dilemma, as while Gon can't hold back his rage at Pitou for what they did to Kite, Pitou's sole concern at the moment is healing and protecting Komugi so that she doesn't succumb to her wounds. In a sense, Pitou has developed in the reverse direction from Pouf in that they love and appreciate the way Meruem has changed for the better and will devotedly defend the one who inspired that change. Good on Killua for keeping his head and recognizing the situation for what it was, though it drives Gon absolutely ballistic to the point where he doesn't care who he kills so long as he can fight and kill his hated enemy. It's only thanks to Killua that Gon is held back from embracing his worst instincts and agrees to wait it out for an hour.
SHUFFLE! - Uh, what the Hell? I noted in an earlier Sia-focused episode that something was amiss with Sia when she was looking in the mirror, but I still wasn't prepared for "literal Green Goblin style split personality takeover!" Sia's more messed up inside than I'd expected and somehow that only makes me love her all the more!
The Case Files of Lord El-Melloi II - Halfway done with the Rail Zeppelin mystery now! The train is has been stranded in a snowy forest, Olga-Marie decides to has barricaded herself in her own room, Melvin makes a startling entrance into the plot and is on board now, Karabo and Yvette then ask for assistance in finding a way out of the cold terrain, but Gray is caught up battling Hephaestion while the rest of the group restore the leyline and returns to the train. And in the midst of this, Olga-Marie made a very unpleasant discovery...
KonoSuba - Two episodes again; Darkness made her return and confirmed that what was happening to her was indeed not what it seemed to be, as she was being set up by her own family to be wed to Lord Alderp's son, Walther, who turned out to be quite a likable young gentleman and very amusing to watch as he had to contend with the ever fiendish Kazuma and a crazier than usual Darkness before leaving on good terms as the arrainged marriage is called off. Then the party had to return to the old dungeon to find and strike out a demon responsible for explosive attacks on the kingdom. The archdemon Vanir comes in the form of a two-toned mask he attaches onto people to possess them, and after his initial body is destroyed he chooses Darkness to be his next host only to be completely put off by her masochism. Megumin casts Explosion to destroy Vanir (we think!), Kazuma has his debt cleared and is given a hefty reward for defeating Vanir, and Darkness' real name gets mispronounced.
K-On! - Now that the Light Music Club is up and running, Yui eyes a guitar she wants to play but to her dismay its price is far beyond her current budget. The girls get part-time jobs to raise money for it but turn up unsuccessful in earning enough, so Tsumugi rises up to the occasion and gets it purchased like she probably could've just done from the start since her family is rich and partially owns the store.
Eureka Seven - Dewey's finally made his play. Wounding the planet once again so that more antibody Coralians emerge and leave destruction in their path that terrorizes the masses, he seizes the moment and makes a grand speech before the capitol, painting the Scub Coral as a scourge that must be erradicated in order to secure humanity's future on this Earth, and introducing the Ageha Squad in their special Nirvash units, led by Anemone in THE-END. But the real twist of the knife is that Dewey proclaims that Adroc Thurston was the first to see the threat and credits his research for his plans, which understandably upsets Renton as Gekkostate watches the speech. As they head to find the Great Wall, they know that the stakes are accelerating and they're going to be in for the fight of their lives.
Gintama - Kagura made her official return to Odd Jobs after some hilarious efforts by Otae, Catherine, and Sacchan to take her place as the main heroine on the show, which pesters Gin, Shinpachi, Otose and Hasegawa, all with running commentary from Kagura herself as she watched from outside the bar. I don't know if it was because she was kept off-screen for most of it or just a fluke of solid direction, but Crystal Lopez actually hit the bullseye with most of Kagura's lines in the dub this time and got a lot of laughs from me!
Air - Really just a standard second episode with not much going on other than easing us more into this setting and giving us more exposure to the characters. Only at the end did it get...strange.

I have now completed volume 7. Honestly I’d say this one was a decent step up from the previous two. Kazuma’s still hardly a role model, but his behavior wasn’t actually loathsome in this one. There were a lot of nice found family moments for the party too. Plus the way the story ended has a few things that could conceivably shake up the status quo. And the story itself was pretty fun too and had the angle of the protagonists actually having to deal with the consequences of their previous actions. As does Alderp. But the rest of this is spoiler territory.
One of these consequences is far more serious than the others. Seriously, why do people in fiction think they’ll actually come out ahead when making deals with demons? So yeah, Alderp’s gone. To Hell. To be tortured until he’s paid his debt of despair for services rendered. By a demon with notoriously horrible memory. …Don’t think he’s getting out anytime soon. So that’s the series’ closest thing to a recurring antagonist down, defeated by the convoluted scheme of Vanir. I guess whether outright control with a mask or manipulation behind the scenes, that demon is very good at getting people to do his dirty work.
But hey, along with that comes several other fun revelations/realizations. With Alderp and his memory-altering demon down in Hell everybody’s noticing all the evidence of his wrongdoing that was there the whole time. As well they’re remembering that, as Alderp was the local lord and Kazuma was defending the populace in those instances of collateral damage, the costs were Alderp’s responsibility to begin with, so Kazuma and the Dustiness family are being repaid for covering his costs. And Darkness’ father is on the mend now that Aqua removed the curse killing him. So really the protagonists made out pretty good this time around. Which is a potential problem as without financial incentive to motivate Kazuma he’d rather just stay home. Which means they’re going to have to find other reasons to continue getting killed by the Demon King's forces.
The only downside to all of this is the realization that they actually didn’t stop Darkness from getting married, as technically speaking the important part isn’t the ceremony, it’s filing the paperwork with city hall before then. So yeah, until she files for divorce or annulment that makes her Lady Lalatina Alderp. I mean, I’d assume it wouldn't be all that hard for her given her status, the fact that Alderp already had an heir and thus she has somebody to buck responsibility to, and the fact that the marriage was never consummated.
And finally as an end of book stinger, Kazuma manages to ID Lady Eris’ mortal identity. It’s Chris. Which means that Kazuma learned his thieving skills from a goddess. And promptly used them to steal her panties.
Honestly one of the biggest signs of Kazuma’ luck is that he wasn’t smitten for that one.

And then Vanir out of sight goes up to Lord Alderp and is like "Hello, fellow noble who carries nothing but ill luck! I have a remedy for such misfortune. I will sell you the bathwater from these two ladies for 900,000 eris!" Alderp instantly takes the deal and runs off with the bathwater.
Darkness: "Uh-... Kazuma, where's my bathwater?"
Aqua: "Waaaaaaaaah! Kazuma! You were supposed to keep my bathwater safe!"
Kazuma: "Isn't that your job?"
Vanir: "Bahahahaha!"

We Never See Konosuba’s Demon King Do Anything Evil
He seems to just keep to himself in his castle, which it’s implied he can’t even leave.
The only thing we see him attack is the Axis Church, who... honestly deserve it. This also reveals something incredibly important, a single innocent being killed was enough to revoke Wiz’s oath of neutrality.  In all this time, Wiz’s has not heard of a single innocent being killed by the Demon King.
Verdia just wanted to be left alone in his abandoned castle.  He only showed up with the very reasonable request to stop dropping FAE’s on it.
Vanir was just trying to clear all of the demons and undead out of the dungeon, and stopped created his exploding dolls once he accomplished his mission.
Do you know who we do see acting evil?, the human nobles.  Lord Alderp is willing to let Axel get flattened in order to coerce Darkness.  The Destroyer was only rampaging because the evil king was... well... an evil king.

I finished catching up on the Konosuba light novels (may CG and yuNS Translations be blessed) and I have to say I really came to enjoy Konosuba. And one thing I want to comment is how patient the author is, so that everything has its payoff (the seals at the Crimson Devil Village, Alderp’s machinations, etc).
But the thing that I liked most is a revelation at volume 15, so entering spoilers territory.
When Kazuma dies due Serena/Celestina’s death curse, he’s brought to Eris and, in his melancholy, he almost succeeds in giving up his quest in the fantasy world, and Eris tells him there haven’t been any new Japanese with cheat item and, with that, nobody has arrived to fight against the Demon King.
Due to the fact the angel in charge of Aqua’s place to be too honest about the dangers of that world and thus every candidate rejects the offer, even with cheat items. The only one who could make the entire scheme work was Aqua and exactly because she had good rhetorics and could convince the Japanese to go there. She shows throughout the light novel she knows a lot of Japanese media and custom, so she probably used that to her advantage.
However, it also implies that Aqua doesn’t care much whether the Japanese candidate in question was a good person or not. Sometimes she hit the jackpot, with a dumb hero type like Kyouya Mitsurugi, but other times she got Kazuma who just wanted to laze off, but other times she sent one problematic person.
It’s heavily implied the current Demon King is a former Japanese who decided that he didn’t want to be a hero anymore and became the Demon King; and, if it’s true, he went through Aqua and she completely forgot about him (just like she did about Mitsurugi). In other words, Aqua just gave gifts to Japanese without bothering to check their emotional maturity and moral tendencies, just to fill quotas and have them to engage in warfare against the Demon King - and we know how well this tends to go, right?
And the consequences are that humanity is blocked off from receiving reinforcements, since the Japanese were good for attrition warfare, and its survival in the medium-run (even short-run if we believe Eris’s tone) might be threatened. The only thing balancing humanity’s situation is that, thanks to Kazuma’s team, the Demon King lost so many generals to the point it can’t deal a definitive blow against humanity.
And this problem wouldn’t be present in first place if Aqua had more dedication to her job - she created a problem only her could manage.
It’s a beautiful, perfectly shaped circle of stupid.

The book actually has an interesting, brief switch over to Darkness’ perspective. Who besides not being as happy with the thought of marriage to a complete scumbag oaf as she might have once been, still has a reason for going through with things besides debt payment: she’s just as aware that Alderp has been getting away with far more than he logically should have as everyone else, and so wants to investigate things from within his own household. Which she admits to herself might take years. Let’s face it, she may not be a total idiot, but she’s not exactly the brains of the operation.
But then it’s back to Kazuma’s perspective for the wedding itself. And he’s right up front, as he’s acting as assistant to the officiant for the wedding, the highest ranking priest in Axel… who happens to be Aqua. Who of course makes a complete mess of the vows because she’s goddess here and she most certainly does not approve of this union. …Though I’m not saying she’s wrong to try and make one of Darkness’ vows to be to protect her chastity from her husband.
Still, after that Kazuma makes his own move to derail the wedding by plopping down 2 billion eris (in very large denomination coins) at Alderp’s feet in a way that makes the coins loose and rolling so effort has to be made collecting it, declaring the Dustiness debt paid, and grabbing the bride and running. And when it looks like Alderp isn’t going to be satisfied and they’ll have to fight their way out Megumin makes her move by having Yunyun cut away the door (and wall) before declaring she’s got an Explosion ready and she’s just crazy enough to use it. Which, you know, she honestly might be.
On the one hand it’s nice that all of Darkness’ friends cared enough about her to stop the wedding and rescue her. On the other hand… for the love of Eris people you’re supposed to be a team. Have you considered discussing and coordinating your plans before hand? Lookin’ at you here too, Darkness. You weren’t exactly forthcoming about anything throughout this entire book either.
